Small-batch ice cream parlor with creative, local, seasonal flavors

"From orange olive oil brownie to salted caramel crackle made with the shop’s own honeycomb candy, Honeycomb Creamery is one of the top spots around the city for playful, inventive flavors that you won’t see elsewhere. If you have your eye on a specific scoop, check the menu before you go as flavors rotate in and out frequently since everything is made in small batches. The shop stocks both dairy and vegan ice creams made from scratch, and they source their milk and heavy cream from standout local purveyor Mapleline Farm in Hadley, Massachusetts. Check out the seasonal sundaes and ice cream sandwiches, too." - Tanya Edwards

"Taco Tuesday gets a sweet spin at Honeycomb Creamery, where the ice cream tacos are in high demand. The tacos come in many flavor combinations, like chocolate waffle taco shells lovingly packed with Thai tea ice cream, dipped in dark chocolate, and topped off with a swirl of piped Italian buttercream and a dazzle of sprinkles. Act fast: tacos are first-come, first-served and only available on Tuesdays." - Erika Adams
"Jasmine Tea & Sea Salt Ganache We used to think that jasmine tea was just an enjoyable drink and that Merryl Streep could do no wrong. Well, both Honeycomb Creamery and The Prom rocked our world this year. The former served a summer scoop that was just like a perfectly brewed glass of cold tea, but in edible form with a sprinkling of salted chocolate. Just like the movie, it was a surprising sensory rollercoaster. Unlike the movie, we actually enjoyed it." - joel ang

"A local ice cream shop frequently cited as a neighborhood favorite for sweet treats." - Erika Adams

"Open since 2016, I love this popular ice cream shop's scratch-made, small-batch flavors—like black sesame with raspberry jam, cold brew coffee chip, and salted caramel crackle—made with local, seasonal ingredients and dairy from Mapleline Farm in Hadley. They run a long-running Taco Tuesday from noon until 10 p.m. (or sellout) featuring their own takes on Choco Tacos that rotate every few weeks and are sold first-come, first-served; next on Aug. 2 is a s’mores version (chocolate waffle cone, malted vanilla ice cream, torched marshmallow sauce, dark chocolate dip, and graham cracker crumb) priced at $8.25. Special/bulk ordering is available (including a vegan horchata option), they can create custom flavors, and they cater events (including a staffed ice cream taco stand); watch their Instagram for updates." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal
