Chicago’s Best Chinese Restaurants | Eater Chicago

"This unassuming family-owned Chinese restaurant in Uptown, on Argyle — traditionally more of a Vietnamese enclave — cranks out some of the more unique Cantonese food in the city. The short ribs, which come wrapped in aluminum foil at the table, are one of the best dishes for meat eaters. Other selections are solid. This restaurant is no fuss." - Ashok Selvam

Tasty food + great prices and wonderful service! The food was super fresh and delicious. We ordered the salt and pepper tofu (not spicy at all) and the salt and pepper pork (little to no spice) and the Singaporean noodles. If you want authentic Chinese food this is the best spot to go! The portions are perfect and the service was amazing.

Google
This is a true gem in the neighborhood. It's almost a shame to describe the pricing as "reasonable" since I'm always shocked by the value for money (the Lobster special is one of the best bargains in the city!) The food always comes out piping hot and the vegetables and proteins always taste extremely fresh. Even American-Chinese classics, not exactly famous for their fresh flavors, like General Tso's chicken, have punchy fresh ginger flavor and perfectly crisp-tender broccoli. The friendly, quick, and welcoming service matches the high quality of the cooking.

Google
We ordered 3 times last week. We are obsessed with their Lobster combo! For $58.00++ you get a whole lobster we had salt and pepper style also we had salt and pepper pork and green beans. So delicious!

Honeymoon cafe is our go-to place for takeout whenever we want Chinese food for lunch or dinner. The food is amazingly delicious. The Salt and Pepper Japanese Tofu is one of our favorites. We have only dined a few times since opening due to limited tables, and parking in Argyle sucks, even for pick-up. I'm surprised they haven't relocated to a better location in the area since the restaurant has been well established. The restaurant hours is incorrect on the menu, but on Google is correct.

I recently ordered from HoneyMoon through Uber Eats and was extremely disappointed with my experience. I asked the driver if they could get me a small chili sauce on the side. To my surprise, the driver informed me that the restaurant only offers a large size and it is not free, which is just ridiculous. I've dined at numerous Chinese restaurants before, and they’re always accommodating when it comes to extra sauces. Requiring customers to purchase a larger size just to satisfy a simple request feels inconsiderate and greedy. As a long-time customer, this experience has left a bad taste in my mouth. Shame on you, HoneyMoon. I won’t be ordering from you again!

My favorite Chinese restaurant! Hot fresh food served by the owners to your table. Not to mention great prices! I’ll be coming back again and again for lobster!

Overall 4 stars Environment 4 stars Food 4.5 stars Staff 4.5 stars A small restaurant that satisfy my craves for somewhat authentic Chinese food. Different style from those spicy hot Chinese restaurants but it has its cooking style (Cantonese I guess) that I can enjoy.

My family and I have been coming here for as long as I could remember. The owner is a very sweet lady! I love coming here and enjoying the food. Best spot if you’re looking for real Chinese food.

Yelp
Excellent and authentic food. As a native New Yorker who grew up between the Manhattan and Brooklyn Chinatowns, it has been impossible to find even passable Chinese food. Honeymoon Cafe met and even surpassed my expectations for many of the dishes that other places just can't do. Special props for the salt and pepper squid, and the snow pea shoots. The Singapore noodles were very good - could have used a little more curry, but still the best I've had in the Midwest (and good even compared to many places in NYC). As to the service, we thought it was efficient, kind and respectful. The food got there quickly and as ordered. Definitely "no frills" in terms of the experience, but I'm going back for the food and not to pay for someone to make small talk while they serve me sub-par food.

Yelp
We love this spot. Our weekly go-to, cheap, fast, good, authentic. It's great to have a spot outside of Chinatown to go to.

Yelp
I ordered the chicken fried rice to-go. The server told me the food would be ready in 10-15 minutes, but I waited nearly 30! And the food was just mediocre. There are so many other places to get great Asian food in this area (and on this block alone) so I won't be returning.

Yelp
The food was delicious, the server was very nice! I did get an expired Diet Coke, which she had replaced when I told her! Gave it a 4 star because they use disposable plates and forks lol

Yelp
Food is alway excellent and staff is very welcoming. The owner gave me a set of bowls and spoons because I commented on how pretty they look. if you're looking for authentic Chinese food this is the best place to go!

Yelp
Great authentic Chinese food and reasonable prices! I took my parents who are fairly picky with Chinese food since they owned their own restaurant before We had the dinner for 2 special which was plenty of food for three of us. It came with salt and pepper shrimp, beef with peppers and onions, and a vegetable dish. All of the dishes had great flavor and the portions were the right size. I can see why so many people order takeout and delivery from here.

Yelp
Don't miss this spot! Great tasty food, big portions. Just tell the lady you need sauce, if not you don't get any. Go to: salt and pepper pork or shrimp! It's got that greasy after-drinking spiciness you need!

Yelp
This place is SO good. We got the beef with peppers, combination fried rice, salt & pepper shrimp and everything was delicious. The beef with peppers is a must try! The meat is so tender.

Yelp
Great tasting food, consistently. Ordered salt and pepper pork and Japanese tofu, fish fillet with Chinese broccoli, rice noodle with beef, and pea tip. Food is by no means fancy. But they are simple and delicious. Restaurant has basically no room for seating, and often older people hang out there (which is great, you know the food is good that's why they go). So we always just get take out. Anyway, can't go wrong with here.

Yelp
Delicious consistent food from a small quaint restaurant. The place got a clean design style for a small place. This place has some of the most solid food at affordable prices. I never has a bad dish here in my opinion. There is nothing that is phenomenal that stands out because all of the food is good compared to one another. Every time I come here they always have takeout bags waiting for someone to pick up their order. I always get some sort of seafood here. Their seafood is a must have here. I would not recommend the baby calms because it lack substance. Although the lobster or salt and pepper shrimp are delicious. If you are considering to order one of the meal bundle on the menu, such as the family for 10, I think you would get the same value from ordering individual dishes. So feel free to order whatever you want. There is no real money saved from ordering the bundle as far as I'm aware. This is a real family own place you can find their kids helping out over the weekend. It good to know that you're spending money on a family business that knows how to serve great food.

Yelp
Second time with Honeymoon Cafe - a Cantonese spot on the Argyle corridor. Our first time we dined in. Tonight we ordered to go. Salt and Pepper shrimp - lightly breaded served with jalapeños and a few diced carrots. The shrimp are whole - and are delicious. What a treat. We also ordered Beef and vegetables spicy. Mongolian chicken spicy. Both entrees had nice sized cuts of meat and a savory sauce. The beef and vegetables had broccoli, carrots, onion, sugar snap peas, mushrooms - a nice mix. The Mongolian Chicken had onion, scallions, hot red chilis and pieces of ginger. We will definitely return to Honeymoon.

Yelp
My family and I alwayssss chooses this Chinese cafe to order takeout for any special occasion. Not once did we have bad experiences here. When we come to dine in, the little girl behind the counter is welcoming and is immediate with what we want. The foods comes out speedy quick and is always delicious. We come here every time we visit Argyle. The inside isn't all fancy but it feels home-like, if that makes sense. Such a great place and I will continue eating here.

Yelp
Enjoyable Chinese food place near my home. Good portions and good prices. Also great options in their lunch special. Bring cash!

Yelp
RUDE! NEVER GO BACK TO THIS PLACE AGAIN!! I would give you a minus star if I could. Me and my friend stopped by this place last night. We were the only table. I could tell that this place is a family owned business and the lady who was serving us last night was probably the owner. But the service was horrible. First, she gave us a small cup of water and never cared to refill it. My friend kept on saying I am thirsty and tried to get her attention to refill her cup. But the lady was on the phone at all time while we were at the restaurant. So when the bill came, we tipped her only $3 although the suggested tip for 15% was around $6.93. The lady took bill away then came back to us asking us to tip at least 15% even though she did not do any service. I am so disappointed at this point and want to let everyone know that there are many good Chinese restaurants in Chicago. Go somewhere else but never this place!

Jun E.

Yelp
Ordered delivery to my place 0.5 miles away at 6:30 pm and it just came at 8:10 PM. It's not food that requires careful time consuming preparation- it's freaking Chinese food. Won't be ordering from this place next time.

Yelp
My family has been eating here for years. There are times when we order from this restaurant once every two weeks for months on end. I think of it as our neighborhood hidden gem, but thought I should finally write a review and let the secret out because I want this amazing small business to survive. Honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Their lunch menu is probably one the best tasting deals on the northside. Our go-tos are the fish filet with noodles, salt and pepper pork chops, and beef diced with green and black pepper. We usually order carry out, but when we do eat-in, they have a great family menu.

Yelp
Another hole-in-the-wall restaurant with its Chinese and English names having zero correlation! Honeymoon Café is a Cantonese, family-run restaurant. The interior is far from pretty. There are four large, circle tables and three medium, rectangle tables. The walls are decorated with pop-up art ranging from Disney characters to scenic landscapes. Extra chairs are stacked and filed along the tables. Despite how none of these mesh, the food is a bomb. On a summery, Wednesday evening, the five of us ordered the family dinner for six: crab meat and fish stripe soup, salt and pepper shrimp, diced beef in black and green pepper, salt and pepper Japanese tofu, baby clams in black bean sauce, and fish fillet with Chinese broccoli. These standard Cantonese entrée names are a mouthful but so were the food. I was stuffing my face with the least amount of etiquette imaginable. I was particularly fond of the Japanese tofu and diced beef. The Japanese tofu was crispy on the outside and custard-like in the center. Each piece was evenly fried to golden brown and lightly seasoned and salted. Everybody was equally marveled by this entrée. The diced beef was incredibly tender and juicy. My amateur taste buds would like to think those were actually diced steak. Portions were generous and we had leftovers to take home. Service was surprisingly good even though they only have one waiter. Prices are reasonable. The whole meal came to $55 before tip. In other words, it was less than $15 per person. I will be back!

Yelp
The food are fantastic! Take out orders are highly recommended!! My favorite dish is salt and pepper chicken fillet. Super crispy, super delicious and super satisfy! I always go back for more. And it is a mom and pop store, so give them some good support!!

Yelp
Cantonese traditional. Low cost Excellent food Fast service No frills Worth giving a try

Yelp
Went here for dinner last night. It is one of numerous restaurants on Argyle. We had the orange chicken and beef with noodles. We ordered egg rolls and combination fried rice. The food was good just not great. It didn't have much flavor. I found myself putting on soy sauce and hot sauce. The service was good. It sppeared to be a husband and wife operation. The prices are reasonable. Might try it again and look for something spicy.
google avatar

Khem M.

Yelp
I really like this place. They have good foods with good price. I picked up 5 items Mapo tofu, fish salt and pepper, tofu salt and pepper, tofu with mushroom and garlic string bean. All are so delicious and they were still good after in fridge.

Yelp
Honeymoon Cafe is exactly what I expected when I walked in with a friend. It's a family-run place that isn't fancy or big, but it gets the job done and delivers quality food and service. The atmosphere is pretty bland, it's basically a room filled with big round living room tables, but the service is friendly and attentive. The food is great. They have a ton of options for meats, seafoods, and veggies. There were so many options to choose from it was hard to pick just two. It is also pretty cheap, with many items under $10 each. For the portion size and quality, it is definitely worth it. I was skeptical picking a place so close to the red line, but I'm glad I walked into Honeymoon. The quiet, tiny, yet humble atmosphere and great food make for a great dining experience. Atmosphere: 7/10 Service: 8.5/10 Food: 8.5/10

M D.

Yelp
Food: 3 stars Service: 0-1 star The food is definitely edible and not that bad. I wouldn't go back as a choice just based on food, but if someone brought it home, I'd eat it (if that makes sense). If you choose to eat here, please order it to go. The service for dining in is awful. They're rude without you even being seated yet. They have this "I'll get to you when I get to you" mentality. They don't care, they're definitely not there for the customer service. They give water in a small tea cup and don't even come around to refill. I witnessed a gentleman being so rude to a woman at another table while she did nothing wrong. They would make their food, eat it infront of you at another table and ignore you if you need something. All while you, the paying customer, needs refills on water, or want to order more, want the check or a box, etc. God forbid you interrupt them while they're on the clock working. Eat in the back so you can enjoy your break time, but make sure your customers are good before doing so. Way too many Chinese places around, I would definitely not recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
A small little restaurant that is family run. Food is your standard Chinese set up but it was pretty good. They had only one person running the front so it took a little time to get someone to take our order, but I am not going to hold it against them. Although there are tables I would say their focus is more on the take out party tray aspect. I would definitely come back
google avatar

Michelle K.

Yelp
Been going here with the family a lot and mostly positive reviews but our most recent visit made us reconsider. When we first came into the restaurant, we saw some food on one of the table with candles which made us wonder what the nice setup was for. We asked for tea and they didn't even have any which we thought was really weird as it was only 6pm. Less than 5 minutes sitting down, we just left the restaurant. What really made us leave the restaurant and cancel our order was when the food placed on the table was for religious reasons as we saw one of the workers performing some sort of offering using burning incense. The burning incense smelled terrible and made us completely loose our appetite. We thought it was inappropriate to perform this in a public restaurant. We asked what the burning incense was for and if it was for offering to the dead but they wouldn't say anything. Performance like this is what made us decide not to come back to this restaurant. We enjoy your food. We are religious as well but please keep religious activities that involves a burning incense somewhere private.

Yelp
Super solid Chinese food on Argyle. The fried fish dishes are all fire- fish and eggplant, salt and pepper fish, etc etc. everything is good, made fast, and not too expensive.

Yelp
Honeymoon Cafe is a small, unassuming restaurant in Argyle, and I know those tiny Chinese restaurants with the drool-inducing pictures of menu items taped to the windows can be a crapshoot, but this place is the real deal Holyfield. I have a three-pronged test which has been pretty reliable for me when dining at many small Asian restaurants, which includes (1) the restaurant must have an awkward name, (2) the restaurant's interior must not be decorated nicely, and (3) the staff should probably be rude. When these factors are combined, for some strange celestial reason, the food is usually bomb. The name of this place is kinda awkward, and when we stepped inside I saw that it was not pretty at all - so far, so good. We sat down and looked at the menu, but something was wrong. A waitress came up and asked us if we were ready to order, and when we weren't, she smiled and gave us more time. Ruh-roh. Then she came back a few minutes later and answered some of our questions about menu items we were considering. Friendly service was not something I was expecting, but it was a nice surprise. The food came out and it was delicious. We had the salt and pepper chicken, the baby pea tips, and another dish that I can't recall at the moment. We left full and satisfied, with leftovers to take home. In addition, the bill didn't burn a hole in our wallets. I will be back when I'm hungry and in the Argyle area fo' sho'.

Yelp
Hold onto something because this is gonna be a disaster. Atmosphere: Our family came here for Father's day. We were a party of 9. We were seated at a dirty table. The woman cleaned it with her hands. The family next to us had obnoxious children who were screaming the entire time. The cafe's phone ringer was on full blast, going off every 10 seconds with its piercing shrill. They seemed to have cramped as many tables as they possibly could in this small restaurant. Atmosphere? Great if you're used to Asian culture and how food trumps atmosphere. If you're looking for a nice quiet place to grab a meal, this isn't the place. Service: We were given paper menus. Props to them for putting pictures of nearly every dish on the menu, it really helps. The rice came out first, nearly 10 minutes before our actual food. What were we supposed to do? Eat plain white rice? We weren't given plates, napkins, or utensils. We had to ask several times. By the time the food arrived, the rice was cold. When they delivered the food, the woman dove right between my sister and I, getting some of the sauces in my hair, and nearly spilling it on several occasions. Never a word about "Sorry" or "Excuse me". Service? Big thumbs down. This is the perfect restaurant if you like being treated like crap instead of an actual paying customer. Food: The only reason this place gets a star is because the food was relatively delicious. We ordered 9 different dishes. The fried crab stood out most, I definitely recommend it. The orange chicken failed to impress. You know you're doing it wrong when a four year old can make better microwaved orange chicken. The color was very off putting too; unnaturally bright orange. In general, the food was yummy and came in a timely manner. Overall: My family; being born and raised in Asia for most if their lives; loved it. Their focus is the food, and the food was good. Myself, being a millennial, expected more. When I go out to eat, I expect a pleasant atmosphere which this place just didn't have, along with good service which they also lacked. They do deliver which is a good idea if you'd rather dine in the comfort of your home than in this cramped, sticky restaurant. This place deserves 4/5 for taste but sadly, dining out isn't based solely on taste.

Yelp
It is a standard Chinese restaurant with a wide menu. The prices are fair and the food is good. I had the short ribs and mei fun. I was happy and that was the goal. The waitress was very friendly and good at her job. The crowd was very mixed so the food appears to be good for everyone.

Yelp
A diamond in the rough! Simple, on point chinese comfort food. We tried the crab rangoon, seafood soup, salted fish fried rice, fried cuttle fish and those fried noodles, yum!

Yelp
Honeymoon Cafe remains our go-to takeout place in the northside. It definitely hits the spot whenever we have a hankering for some good old Chinatown classics, but are too busy/lazy to make the commute. It is without question a true dirty hole-in-the-wall restaurant, and for those who know real deal Cantonese/Chinese food, that's the type of place to get the good eats. I also overlook the poor service as well, choosing to always phone in my takeout orders so it is ready when I arrive. This is really your standard takeout restaurant place where the food is good, ambiance leaves a lot to be desired, and service is mediocre at best. I suggest only coming here if you're looking for good food and none of that other stuff. At the super low prices that Honeymoon charges, what more can you expect?
google avatar

Todd P.

Yelp
The older servers are not in the mood to be friendly. However, the younger ones are on it! Great portions for an a lunch menu that goes well into the night. Most dishes run $5.
google avatar

Walton S.

Yelp
I've ordered takeout from here at least ten times now. I highly recommend calling ahead as it can get pretty busy. A couple of times I've had to wait an additional 15 minutes or so inside the restaurant after I had called in my order over the phone 20 minutes prior. I've noticed not many people actually dine in - the place is small and there are only two or three tables. As far as the food, I recommend fish fillet with bitter melon and chicken with black bean sauce. The chicken wings are pretty good as well. The items are pricey for the quality of food you receive. You might try North Garden down the block whose dishes are on par with Honeymoon Café's but are offered at more reasonable prices.
google avatar

Scott B.

Yelp
I heard this place was good and I have wanted to try it for months. I actually found that all the food tasted the same, which was pretty much like nothing. The textures of everything were also really odd, not even in a way that I can describe but just not what I'm used to. The hot and sour soup, which is my usual litmus test for a Chinese restaurant, was flavorless, had a strange consistency, and mysterious ingredients. I don't think I'll be back.
google avatar

Hanh H.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to get authentic Asian's food! The service is not always great, but I understand that sometimes they just don't know better. They never messed up my order and the food is GREAT. I tried many different dishes, and I am always satisfied. Very affordable! I would recommend this place to anybody that want some good Chinese food!
google avatar

Bridget Jack J.

Yelp
I work near this restaurant and often partake of their $5.25 lunch specials. It is what it's trying to be. It's a hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant with decent food. I always get the Salt & Pepper Pork Chop lunch special, which, other than having bones in it, is pretty good. Last year, they used to allow orders online from GrubHub, and I had it happen a few times that they didn't get my order until long after it should have been ready. They stopped taking online orders shortly after that. I thought it spoke well of them that they gave up on a type of ordering that they seemed unable to keep up with.
google avatar

Awn A.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in Chicago. The owner is a nice lady and the place is clean. I stop by to have lunch every time I have a chance. Their lunch menu is a good value and they give big portions. Sometimes I have enough to take home for leftovers. Food is really really good! I always order the salt and pepper dishes. Overall I recommend this place.
google avatar

Yelp
They're always busy- especially weekend. their dishes/appetizers are tasty. japanese jalapeno-tufu is friends' and I's favorite. beef stir-fried chinese broccoli over white-flat noodle is dilicious. My 20mn orders over phone ended up 45mn instead- that cost them a star. don't believe me- go try, at least once.
google avatar

Luan N.

Yelp
The only thing I have tried here is the smelt fish, fish fillet with sour veggies, and sweet & sour chicken. My white friend ordered the S&S chicken before you judge me! Smelt fish not as good as Triple Crown and S&S chicken of course not to my liking. I've never had the fish fillet w/ sour veggies until I moved to Chi-town. My friends don't particularly don't care for it, but I thought it was a interesting contrast. My British-Indian friend prefers the fish fillet w/ chinese broccoli from Sun-Wah. Side note: I think Chicago has D.C. metro area beat when it comes to fish fillet dishes. The one time I dined in with my smelty friend and S/S friend, I noticed the place was not pretty. Old Furniture, beat up wall panels. My roach senses were peaking above threshold. When you grow up in the tropics like Guam, you develop these senses. j/k. But, hey, I'm sure every restaurant on Argyle has roaches. So I usually end up carrying out the fish fillet, during lunch it's $5.

Cole M.

Yelp
I moved to Chicago from the south, and to my surprise, I left good Chinese food there! However, Honeymoon Cafe has been primo every time I've dined-in, or gotten take-out. I've tried numerous Chinese places throughout Chicago; many were par, some were awful. Honeymoon Cafe stands above the rest (try the salt and pepper chicken by request)!

Yelp
3.5 bumped up to 4. Definitely don't go there on a date, it lacks ambiance in every way possible. Service is super slow. But the food is tasty and budget friendly. I've been twice now and both times w/ tip, it has averaged $10/person with a few leftovers. The one dish that I think is pretty original here is the Japanese tofu with mushrooms. YUM and I'd don't normally like tofu, but I return here for it in a heartbeat. The salt and pepper shrimp is good but nothing to differentiate it from elsewhere. Same goes for clams in black bean sauce. Definitely go if you're in the area. FYI, there's a $20/25 minimum to use your credit card.

Yelp
I've come here several times and this place can knock out many of the Chinese Restaurants in Chinatown. Love their food, so tasty and flavorful! There is street parking for which you have pay the meter. Weekdays, better to find parking, weekends harder. But haven't had too much of a problem. The restaurant is very small. I wanna say they have about 7 or 8 tables. All large round tables with the circle server in the middle. Nothing fancy or special about the decor or the layout of the restaurant. When you walk in, there's the small cash register counter on your left. They make their fresh fruit smoothies here too, which I highly recommend. Had the Avocado smoothie with tapioca, always my favorite! It was only two of us and we were sat at large round table cause that's all they had, but didn't bother me at, especially since we order a ton a food! There was only one lady working the front. She took orders, made smoothies, took phone orders, waited tables, and bussed tables! She was like the loony cartoon character Bugs Bunny playing baseball by himself! Needless to say, don't expect great service here, but I take great food over mediocre service anytime. I give her respect cause it didnt look easy handling everything like she did. I ordered the steamed oysters, fish filet with bitter melon in black bean sauce, salt and pepper soft shell crab, ginger onion lobster, and the avocado smoothie with tapioca. Steamed oysters were huge and steamed to perfection. The fish filet was seasoned beautifully and I loved the contrast of the bitter melon in it. Soft shell crab was lightly battered, fried, and seasoned with chunks of garlic and sliced jalapeños. Ginger onion lobster....oh....my....god.. whole lobster cut into smaller pieces sauteed with, well ginger and onion. Everything was delish! This place was packed given it being a Wednesday afternoon. During the course of my meal, there was probably at least 10 people coming in to order their lunchbox special. The lunch menu was very extensive and it was very affordable. Ranges from $4.95 to $5.50. You can have it put over steamed white rice, lo mein, pan fried wide rice noodles, or pan fried egg noodles. Wish I lived closer, I could order just about everyday. I highly recommend this place for authentic chinese food. They are reasonably price and gives you a ton of food. Very flavorful and cooked perfectly. This place tops some restaurants I had in Chinatown. Just don't expect great service here but understand they are swamped and only one person working the front.

Yelp
RACIST RACIST RACIST !!! Me and my family came in the restaurant first waiting to be seated and the waitress ignored us. And seated the people (viet) behind us !!! I asked her do we just seat ourselves then? And she stared at me and pointed at any table. She then proceeded to give them menus and not US !!! My husband waved her down because we already know what we want. She proceeded to go to the other table (viet) and they were not even ready yet. Place was empty.. We were the first customers. We left. We're asians too. But not viet for them. RACIST ZERO STARS RACIST.

Yelp
Best Chinese food in the Argyle vicinity, hands down. Note that I said the best *food.* If you want a *restaurant* or *dining* experience, insofar as that includes decor and obsequious American-style ass-kissing service, you will get exactly zero of that here. The 5 stars are for the food, alone. (And that's what they aspire to, alone.) Excellent: Salt n pepper anything. (Btw, if you order shrimp in this style, it will come with shell & head on. It is delectably crisp and savory and is supposed to come that way.) Green veg are fresh and well-executed. Haven't tried everything on the menu, but everything so far has been tasty and I have no reason to expect anything different from future orders. Lastly -- If you are so provincial and unwilling to grasp that there are a variety of distinct tofu preparations, including the crispy-on-the-outside, custardy-on-the-inside Japanese tofu dishes, then you have no business giving this business 1 star. Especially so if you are chagrined that your mushrooms turn out to be "noodles that are chewy and fishy-tasting with creepy sprouts at the end of them." Enoki. Those are enoki mushrooms.

Yelp
I love coming here. The food is cheap but the quality isn't. They bring your food out fast and the workers are very attentive. I mostly order pickup from this place and when I do, they are always on time with having the food ready. They have great lunch specials and you can't really beat the price. I love this place.

Yelp
This is a no frills place with AMAZING food! Everyone that I know that has tried the salt and pepper fish has been hooked. Consistently delicious! Best takeout option in the area!

Yelp
If you're looking for a good meal, this is the place. If you're looking for ambience with personal customer service, this isn't the best place for you. Great mom and pops restaurant with a great mix of both authentic as well as more westernized items. I recommend... most items on the menu lol.

Yelp
I have only eaten here once so far, but the food was excellent and the service was on par. I had the chicken with garlic and onions, and it was some of the juiciest, most perfectly cooked chicken I've had anywhere. It was delicious. I had to force myself to not go back the very next day. I will be returning soon enough, however, and I'll update this review with information on whatever dish I get next.
