15 Classic Chinese Restaurants In LA's Chinatown - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"You might be tempted to just grab one of Hong Kong BBQ's roasted ducks straight from the window and run. Which would be the wrong choice for many reasons. Mostly because the roasted meats at this causal siu mei spot are best enjoyed at the restaurant, whether plated over rice with bok choy, or in a steaming bowl of wonton noodles. That way, all your meats—from char siu to Peking duck to siu yuk, or crackling Chinese pork belly—will be at their juiciest and most succulent." - kat hong

Hong Kong BBQ Restaurant - Review - Chinatown - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"With Hong Kong BBQ’s window full of roasted ducks, you might be tempted to just grab your food and run (and perhaps eat it right there on the sidewalk). But that’d be a mistake. We don’t know the exact science behind it, but this food is best enjoyed at the restaurant. That way, all your meats—from char siu to Peking duck to siu yuk, or crackling Chinese pork belly—will be at its juiciest, most tender, and succulent-est. Is that last one a word? LA Guide 15 Classic Chinese Restaurants In LA's Chinatown" - Kat Hong

Catastrophic. We came because of the good reviews and ordered a 3-choice lo mein: the duck was all bones — I couldn’t even taste any actual duck meat. The pork belly was cold, almost straight out of the fridge, and the ribs had more bone than meat. The lo mein noodles were all stuck together, clearly just thrown into the water and pulled out without checking if they were cooked properly. My wife ordered the beef steamed lo mein — completely unpleasant. The meat had absolutely no flavor, the carrots didn’t even taste like carrots, and the same issue with the noodles. The soup that came as a side tasted like fridge — clearly reheated in the microwave straight from cold storage. The place was completely empty (I thought maybe because it was Tuesday, despite so many good reviews), but everything was terrible. Thank God for the soy sauce — it helped us eat a little just to calm our hunger and not waste the $50 we were about to pay. Absolutely not recommended. Not at all.

Roasted duck is so tasty. Dishes are all Big potion. Fresh and healthy, not salty or greasy. Restaurant is clean and comfortable.

Great place for lunch. We were in a hurry and didn’t get a chance to try their roasted duck but the dishes we ordered tasted great. Not overly flavored nor drowned in sauces neither. The fruit teas were reasonably priced. The Vietnamese style coffee was extremely loaded with caffeine.

The size is very large even I can’t finish my food completely. But all the food is good to my taste. A very comfortable restaurant.

We come to Hong Kong BBQ all the time, and it never disappoints! The food is always delicious, and the atmosphere is casual—nothing too fancy. There's a to-go area at the front counter, and a sit-down area if you want to enjoy your meal there. We always order the wonton duck noodle soup, and it's soooo good! This time, I tried the roast pork wonton noodle soup to switch it up, and while it wasn't bad, I’ll stick with the duck noodle next time! Their garlic pork chops are a must-try, and the Singapore stir fry noodles are amazing too. Always a great experience here! * Service is always good 👍 👏

I was waiting for some clothes to get altered and ran across this place on the corner of the street. Decided to stop in and I’m glad I did. The food was flavorful and yummy. The pork chops were not dry which is my normal concern as it easy to dry out when frying. I would stop by again if I were in Chinatown.

Google
I give only 4 stars because I am not impressed with the service. They either ignore you completely or sort of rush you to finish when placing the orders. However, food is FANTASTIC!!! We ordered Peking Duck, Chicken Fried Rice, Beef Chow Fun, and Fried Calamari. Food came out quick, piping hot, and huge portion. I really like the food though so maybe next time instead of dining in, I'll do the takeout so I don't have to get frustrated with their service 😅

Google
I have been coming to this place for years. It's has to be the most authentic chinese food i've have ever had. One word. Delicious! I've never been disappointed.

Yelp
best roast duck for Christmas - great service - great place. The rest of the food is fantastic as well. We always enjoy their sticky rice. The boiled duck wings are the least expensive and best meal you can get. We'll be back

Yelp
Came here for roasted duck and it did not disappoint. The duck was juicy and the flavors hit the spot. I did the take-out option and I had a very good meal.

Yelp
The food I got was not very tasty, although it is a big portion. I would not really recommend.

Yelp
Big Bro and I were tunnel visioned: SIL needed a mahjong set. We knew exactly where to get it. Drove half hour, parked at the bank half-a-block away, got to our favorite store who sells it, got the set and then started finding our way back the car. 10 minutes, tops. But walking back, we decided to stop somewhere for a drink. This was practically next door, so eh. Why not. We weren't being picky. Cool, they even had boba options! Big Bro got passion fruit green tea, I got the black, Hubbers got mango black. I can't speak for them, but mine was... meh. It certainly quenched the thirst, but boy, I can taste the lack of love in this drink! But keep in mind this is a restaurant, not a boba place. The goal was just to get a drink. Then we noticed a piece of roasted prom slap hanging with the ducks. It was small enough to feed maybe a party of five, so we purchased it and took it to go. We snacked on it soon as we got home. The skin was incredibly crispy and tasty. The inside was seasoned good, but slightly dry. This tells me it's been hangin' at the warmer for a minute. Still good. Could have been better. FOOD (and drinks): 3. SERVICE: 3. VALUE: 3. PARKING: Street only, but parking lots available for a small fee. OVERALL: 3. I might just try a sit-down experience next time to get a better overall feel of the place. I saw some food being served to patrons and they looked good! Making a mental note...

Yelp
Food was amazing can't deny that but.... The customer service was trash and having to pay 18% on a tip which I think wasn't well deserved

Yelp
The most authentic Hong Kong style barbecue you can get in Chinatown Los Angeles. They've got a restaurant side with a simple menu as well, but I usually come for barbecue take out, like the Roasted Duck and BBQ Pork pictured.

Yelp
Came here for takeout. Ordered duck and bbq pork. The duck was delicious. Juicy and full of flavor. I was in the mood for duck and this definitely hit the spot. It wasn't the best ever but it did the job when I was craving it. Bbq pork was good too although the pieces I got were a bit on the dry side but at least had good flavors. This is your no frills fast Chinese take out spot with greasy delicious food. Prices were decent as well.

Yelp
Had lunch at this old staple that I haven't been to since covid. They have changed a bit in that their prices have skyrocketed and they charge 3% for using the dining room to eat. The staff is okay. There was one male and one female server. The male clearly didn't wanna be there and was mostly on his phone. When he did help it felt like we were irritating him. The female was helpful but clearly busy working all the tables. The restaurant is old and has not been updated for quite some time. The inside is dim and not very welcoming. I think people come for the location and reputation. The food was decent. The steamed fish was steamed through and had a light flavor. The onions were not finely sliced so they were hard to eat with the delicate fish. We also had the stir fried bbq pork with spicy sauce. It had great flavor but the slices were all different shapes instead of uniform. All in all an okay experience but will try somewhere else next time.

Yelp
We walked by this place and only got one thing: the siu yuk to go. Note: this is a Cantonese restaurant so mandarin is not their first language. The food was good, but my only gripe was that it was a bit expensive (1.2 lbs for 28$). The food is good, but when we come back to the actual restaurant we will give a full review
google avatar

Yelp
Since my last visit, Hong Kong BBQ has maintained the cleanliness and modernization of their restaurant to earn an additional star. The food is still fairly good and very Cantonese Chinese. Prices are still higher than many other places, but as mentioned before, their portions are much larger. Service is minimal but adequate and typical of many Chinese Chinatown restaurants. With so many Chinese restaurants having gone out of business and closed due to rising costs from the 3-year long covid pandemic and the slow gentrification of Chinatown, the value and quality offered at Hong Kong BBQ help elevate them to a bit higher status than previous.

Yelp
Ehhh. This place was pricey as heck. $20 dollars for Roast duck and Roast pork plate over rice? Portions weren't that great either. There was maybe 5-6 pieces of duck and 5-6 pieces of roast pork, some veggies over rice. The taste was fine. Typical Chinese BBQ, but valuewise, is a no-go. Would not come back again. Service was fine, food tasted fine, but would not come back due to value.
google avatar

Mark O.

Yelp
The service was alright, but the server could've been nicer. The food was awesome though, and the portions were great for sharing. You gotta try the BBQ pork ribs and flat noodles, they're the best!
google avatar

Leslie Y.

Yelp
If you are looking for authentic Cantonese food in gigantic portions, look no further. The wanton low-mien came in an overwhelming serving. My son was unable to finish his duck rice, because it was too much even for a growing teenager. He almost never has leftovers. The taste was pretty good, but I've had better. The server was quick, but seemed rather impatient. The menu was sticky with grease as expected at any authentic Chinese restaurant. Don't bother with the drinks. My honey black tea was underwhelming and bland.

Yelp
Celebrated another colleague's bday at lunch (9 people). This time we asked the server to have the cook not add so much salt and oil to the dishes. The food was better! The gai-lan sauteed with garlic was better than the oyster sauce, the eggplant was lighter, although one of us remarked that the fish filet could've been tastier. We also enjoyed the roast pork, shrimp with walnuts (one of our favorites) and two orders (1 order has 4 rolls) of egg rolls for 9 people. Cons: plates are salad not dinner plates. When I asked Candy, our server, for larger plates, she said that's how they come. Lazy Susans were desperately needed bc it was awkward to hold and scoop from the large plates of food with sauce sliding off to the side. When I advised the server of this, she said the Lazy Susans would be too large for the table. Get larger tables? Lazy Susans don't come in various sizes? Service was relatively quick. We had to wait for our eggplant which came last. Server told us the eggplant had to be cut which was why it was late. Not enough help in the kitchen? Parking on the street. Service from Candy was great. Much better lunch this time bc there was less salt and oil in the dishes. Plus we ordered less meat. We felt lighter. Love the generous portions. Just wish they'd have Lazy Susans and regular dinner plates.

Yelp
Portion is huge, and taste pretty authentic. Solid food. Was craving duck and lo mein. Ended up getting roast pork, duck lo mein, and pork with rice. Portion itself is huge and it tastes as good as i remembered when eating back home. We were shocked with the portion but didn't complain. A good meal that would last 2 days. Yum :p Though, I would enjoy it much more if they chose meatier parts of the duck rather than the bone-ier parts. Overall still good. A tip when getting the lo mein, ask for extra noodle sauce on the side, itll make your noodle eating experience all the better

Yelp
Huge portions. Very friendly family owned restaurant. Very authentic. Would definitely recommend. They also have a Chinese BBQ section.

Yelp
Today I had gone to eat with my family & the food was okay , no complaints really ,but our sever was a tall man , at first he was okay but then I realized he never checked up on us , he was very rude unfortunately we ignored it because it was my daughters birthday , after that I had paid the bill and decided to leave a low tip honestly the service wasn't well , he was rude and we had to flag another worker down for the bill he ignored us & after we paid the bill , he went up to my daughter and DEMANDED an extra $10 for his service rudely. Which was very bad. He has yelled at her and all ruining her birthday lunch .

Yelp
The portions here are so big!! Let's break it down. 1. The fried rice was enough to feed 4+ people. It's a HUGE plate and so good. 2. The duck was also a very generous portion. It paired nicely with the rest of the dishes we got. 3. The Chinese broccoli - so this was the surprise winner! Normally Chinese vegetables' seasoning can be overwhelming but the flavors were so good. The garlic sauce wasn't too thick and you could taste it slightly as you ate it. So so good. Strange to be so ecstatic about a vegetable dish but this was so good and not like any other Chinese dishes I usually get. The service here is great. The Lao ban here is so kind and it's a comfy family restaurant vibe that is rare to find nowadays. A hidden treasure in Chinatown!

Christopher J.

Yelp
Love the food at this place. Quick service and reasonable prices. Salt anx pepper pork chops are my favorite! Also my number ine pick for Chinese take-out!

Yelp
Gotta get the duck, hands down, always. Tried the honey walnut shrimp this last time. Very Mayo heavy, but delicious. Service is what it is in Chinatown, bathrooms aren't clean and the doors don't really close. But dang you can hear the chefs cooking away when an order is placed. Shows because the food is always good.

Yelp
I was on the hunt for some decent BBQ Pork on Rice and decided to give this restaurant a try. I visited during lunch - the place is very spacious but pretty empty during the day. I think most people prefer to visit here for big group dinners. The portions are generous but for the amount I paid, I don't think I would visit again. The quality of the BBQ pork was average and there was very little sauce provided so everything was too dry.

Yelp
Large portions and attentive service! New Year's evening, looking for a restaurant that was open, and happened to find Hong Kong BBQ Our family of 5 enjoyed - Honey Walnut Shrimp Roast Duck Sizzling Rice Soup Sauteed Snow Pea Leaves Deep Fried Fish It was delicious and we have plenty of leftovers for lunch tomorrow! Definitely will come back next time we are in LA

Yelp
been here twice now in 2 weeks! first time we had it really excellent lobster with green onions and garlic for a great price of $31, complemented by a really nice hot and sour soup. We are only giving four stars because the waiter decided to do some vacuuming or on our table while we were eating. LOL The second time I wanted to get something off menu which they were cool with so I got a shrimp with green beans and garlic sauce. They didn't blanket I and made exactly what I wanted with a lot of volume! again the waiter came to take my order then decided as I was speaking to do something different and go clean dishes so I had to wait for a different waiter to come by. I think this is expected for Chinese restaurants by the way so I'm only letting everyone know that You should expect this type of service. The food is excellent and you get a lot of food for the price. I don't think you can find lobster for this price anywhere else in the city besides Chinese restaurants. The other thing that is great is it doesn't seem there's ever a time where you need to wait for a table. highly recommended for the food!

Yelp
Great foods Great service Nice server 4* only cause a family of 4 menu (over $100) does not come with rice, not even a small bowl. Edited: When from 4* to 2* cause the lady was asking for more tips on top of what we already left.

Yelp
Came here yesterday for lunch with a party of 15. Sat us in two different tables since we were a larger party. Totally understandable. We all ordered food from our table . Large portions enough to share. Had the tall older gentleman as our waiter and a petite woman took the order on the other table. When they took our order, the gentleman had a disgusted look on his face and kept rushing us. While i was asking for clarification on one menu item, he gave me a dirty look and moved on to someone else in our party. Extremely rude. Ordered and he left to the back. When receiving our order, he brought out something we did not order and when we brought it to his attention he picked it up and slammed the food in the trash. Then we got the remake for that order, and was the wrong order as well. I decided to ask the petite lady instead since apparently i pissed off the other waiter. She didn't say sorry just took it back and 10 minutes later we still got the wrong order. We just ate it at that point. When we got our bill, it got split in half based on table. We gave them our cards and we paid. A person from our party left a tip in cash but the petite lady began screaming and demanding $20 since we were a larger party. We gave in and gave her $20. (we tip based on service and didn't get good service; no one checked on us) The older gentleman picked up the check halfway when we were signing and began screaming and demanding we tip. We told him we left a tip with the other server and he said no that we had to tip him on top of that. My dad got up and told him the tip left was for both and were lucky enough to even get anything. He told my dad to shut up that it didn't concern him. That's when i had enough and stood up and pointed at the receipt and told him we didn't have to tip especially when we got horrible service. He began raising his voice and acted like a child. We grabbed our stuff at that point and left. Service is really terrible, on top of that scene, they slammed all the plates on the tables and ignored any questions we had throughout our meal. Feel bad for not tipping but it's all based on service. But when someone is demanding money from you like that, definitely a HUGE NO! Avoid this place. They will corner you and intimidate you for a tip. Read reviews after our visit. Don't come waste money here.

Yelp
FAST FOOD REVIEW: I honestly only come here for the ROAST DUCK and I have to say they have the best! Perfectly seasoned, well packaged, clean counters. Some Chinese places feel a little dirty, but this place is super clean, efficient, and straight forward. Whole duck was around $30. Half duck was $15. I know that may sound logical but some places will charge you more in you only get half! And yes they take card!
google avatar

Candace Angelica S.

Yelp
They DEMAND you tip, even if the service and food aren't up to par. They'll bully you into giving them a higher tip no cap. You heard right. I used to come here when it was Sam Woo and never had an issue. I came here recently with my husband and we weren't as satisfied. I was still going to tip but not nearly as much as the recommended amount on the receipt. $20 for a single roast duck meal, and slow service. When I gave the reciept back one of the female servers held up the tab and pointed for us to sign for a higher tip. It was utterly laughable that she demanded a $13 tip. Gave this place an extra star because the roast duck was decent, just not worth $20 for the small portions.

Yelp
Really good Chinese food in the middle of China town. The food is very flavorful and fresh. The noodles are nice and crispy and never soggy. The portions are huge so be prepared to share family style. Been coming here for a looong time. Back from when it used to be called Sam Woo. The workers are all very nice and polite. The place is very clean. If you're familiar with China town, you know that public bathrooms are scarce. This is a great excuse to come in to eat and to use the bathroom too. Lol. All in all, I've never had a dish here that I didn't like. Come give it a try. Enjoy!
google avatar

Yelp
Piping hot, made to order, very flavorful. had the Lobster in black bean sauce. only negative here is that you have to "work" for your food. Getting lobster out of the shells is a bit of a task, but might be the best way to cook it too. hadn't had Chop suey in a while, so it was nice to have a delicious plate of chicken chop suey. Tasted just as I expected. A bit on the pricier side, but if you want to treat yourself, might be one of the better eateries on Broadway. Post script. Accidentally left a good portion of leftovers on bench at train station. My loss was some hobo's gain.

Yelp
Food? Check. Service? Check. Portion size? Check. Vibes? Check, check, and check. Full transparency -- my college roomie's dad and family friends work here. They paid for our food and wouldn't even accept our tip. Trust me, we tried HARD to give that tip. There was a full-on chase on the streets of Chinatown and a faux-tussle with the restaurant owners, and at the end of the day, they still wouldn't take our money. True Chinese hospitality for ya. That being said, this is my honest, mostly-unbiased opinion. And my honest, mostly-unbiased opinion is that this restaurant will rock your socks off. Alrighty. Dish by dish. Egg rolls: Fresh out of the kitchen so they were mad crispy. ASMR in every bite. I've had subpar egg rolls before that were oily or heavy or had oddly mealy fillings. Not the ones at Hong Kong BBQ, no sir. These were flaky on the outside and piping hot within. Barbecue pork & roast duck: Holy shmokes. Can't go wrong with the pork fr. Juicy pink slices w/ the nicest glazed rinds. Probably not great for your health but so great for your tastebuds. Didn't have as much of the roast duck but it was solid as solid can be. And that's the state of the matter. Fried rice: Huge heaping mass of rice, egg, veg, and meat. Perfect in every regard. I admit I do judge people who go to Chinese restaurants and only order fried rice... but if you were to do that at Hong Kong BBQ, I would not give you a second glance. This one is worth it. Chinese broccoli: The most flavorful green-leaf veggies I've had in a long time. I could eat an entire salad serving of just this. Maybe it was the garlicky oyster sauce. Maybe it's Maybelline. General observations: The portions are insane. We went home w/ 3 full containers of leftovers. The restaurant itself is quite unassuming, but don't let that deter you. Some of the best meals I've ever had have come from the most lowkey shops, and Hong Kong BBQ was no exception. Super solid fare. 12/10 would come again.

Jeffrey C.

Yelp
I lived in Hong Kong for the last 20 years. This restaurant delivers food just like "home".

Yelp
Stopped by for some bbq pork and would definitely recommend. We usually request for leaner cuts of meat and was impressed that it was not overly tough and dry. The pork was not overly sweet and the person cutting the meat didn't douse the pork with honey like lots of places do. They have a bunch of duck and roast pork that I'll try next time. We also got some zongzi or Chinese tamales and they were good. I think they were like $2 each or something but definitely cheaper than some other stores in the area.
google avatar

Leslie H.

Yelp
Good place to go to for Chinese bbq. I ordered a pound of crispy pork belly, honey bbq pork, walnut shrimp, and baby bok Choy My thoughts: - huge portions for a fair price - pork belly is the perfect ratio of fat and lean - our baby bok Choy container was packed full! It comes in three choices: garlic, hoisen, or sautéed. We will definitely be having leftovers - they don't have hot mustard for the pork belly so you might need to go to the store to get some - a lot of shrimp compared to walnuts. Not too creamy which i like! Overall, i think the dishes i ordered were excellent. They give you a ton of food for the price. 9/10 would recommend

Yelp
Great place to eat I once ordered a whole PIG They also have small or large pigs It's great for the holidays HONG KONG BBQ China Town Down town Las Angeles I support this place because I have never been disappointed , so go eat there you have my blessings . It's HAPPY FOOD ( TRUST )

Yelp
In a haze of gluttony, my husband and I decided to take home a pound of pork belly and 1/2 a roast duck for our thanksgiving dinner. I had read some reviews complaining of dry meat but both were very good. I think next time, I would prefer to buy a whole duck and leave it uncut. There are a few places selling pork and duck by the pound and Hong Kong BBQ was a bit cheaper. Overall, I will be back and will try other items.

Yelp
**September 2021 Visit: LA Mask Mandate Enforced** I saw video clips of the pork belly and bookmarked it immediately! On my recent visit with friends they ran out! What?! It's 12:00pm (lunchtime) how did you already sell out :( Nevertheless, my party of three decided to do a half peking duck and beef chow fun (flat rice noodle dish). Holly cow, the beef chow fun was enormous! It's like twice the size of most Chinese restaurants! To me it wasn't as fried and crispy as I usually enjoy it but it definitely tasted authentic. The duck was excellent! It came served with the buns, hoison sauce, green onions and those crispy chips. The skin and meat was cut beautifully and the skin was nice and crispy. I have no doubt that Hong Kong BBQ would have amazing BBQ dishes, but I guess I'll have to come by another day to try their Pork Belly. Overall, an authentic restaurant in Chinatown. *Note: there's AC, staff all wore masks and service was quick!

Yelp
Get the duck. That is why this place is famous. That said, we wanted to eat lighter so we didn't order a whole duck and opted for the congee with roast duck and '1000year' preserved duck egg. Incredible savory rich complex flavors and also super comforting and homey at the same time. Even though there was no seafood in it- the bits of preserved duck egg had an unholy funky delicious rich umami essence that reminded me of Korean fermented shrimp paste. There was just enough to enrich each and every single bite of congee. The duck was so perfectly cooked, with the perfect proportion of skin, fat and tender meat. We also had fried dough sticks, which was a bit too carby dipping the fried dough in the congee. They were great- perfectly fried, crispy goodness but still, I would order some greens instead next time.

Yelp
I was attracted to this place because the sign that says "Lunch special $8.95." I also came here because they take Visa/mc/Amex. It's rare to find a Chinese restaurant that accepts credit cards. Thanks to Covid, they increased their prices. Vegetable and tofu dishes are $10.95. Chicken and beef is $12.99. Seafood is .$13.99. A can of soda also went up from$1.50 to $1.95. There's a 3% fee if you dine indoors. I ordered the sweet and sour pork. It's not a lunch special. It's full size! Came with a container of white rice. I almost finished it. I also ordered the roasted duck to go. Nice and clean. Wait staff can speak English.

Yelp
Came here with a family of 7 on a late Tuesday for lunch and was seated immediately. The menu had pictures which was helpful to order and each dish was reasonably priced and super affordable compared to other Chinese restaurants in Irvine. We got clams in black bean sauce, fried tofu, beef chow fun, Singapore noodles, fried rice, green beans in black bean sauce, honey walnut shrimp, and fried shrimps and everything was prepared fast, hot and delicious. Definitely would come back to visit this place

Yelp
The food was good portioned but the quality wasn't the best. As you can see from the other reviews, the service here is horrible. When the food arrived it was just tossed at us and no one bothered to check with us until we had to flag someone down. I did not want to leave a tip for the service yet before I walked out I was stopped from one of the ladies there that hardly came to our table but said "if we wanted to dine in, we had to leave a tip" I left a tip just to leave this place. Food pricing is already raised up enough and they expect you to pay extra to dine in. How do expect people to come back if you don't treat the customers correctly. You've been warned.

Yelp
The BBQ pork is beyond delicious! Service is fast and efficient and the portions are monumental. Leftovers for days!

Yelp
Whoa...the portions were huge. I ate as 5 different meals to provide some perspective. I hadn't had a roast pork over rice for about 3 months and I thought it hit the spot and had ample veggies to counter balance. All in all enjoyed the meal and nothing quite like some Cantonese food to make me feel at home!

Yelp
The portion is HUGE but the food is MEH. Both the wonton soup and country style beef noodles were bland. I can't give them more than 2 stars.

Yelp
This used to be one of our favorite spots. but the new owners have done LOST THEIR MINDS ON the prices. 9.50 for jook. 16.25 for beef chow fun, $15.95 "specials". Done lost their minds!

Yelp
I really like this place mainly because of the large portions. Yesterday I visited for the first time since the pandemic. The portions are a bit smaller but you still get a lot of food. Everything tasted fresh and was quite delicious. We ordered 4 dishes and asked our server to pack it up. Later when we got home, we realized she only packed 3 of them. So thus the 3 stars over the 4.
