Great spot for a dinner-and-beer date! I went to Hop Atomica with my parents on a Friday night before heading to a comedy show, and it was a fantastic stop. The place was packed, so be prepared for a busy vibe, but we lucked out and snagged a small wall table in the back. It was cozy, but the place definitely gets bustling, so plan accordingly if you're going on a weekend.
We started with the whipped feta dip, and wow--it was so tasty! The toasted bread that came with it was absolutely to die for. Crispy on the outside but soft on the inside--just perfect. Highly recommend starting with this.
Then we shared the "Fig and Pig" pizza, and it was really good. The combination of fig jam, prosciutto, and mozzarella was unique and surprisingly light. If you're super hungry, this pizza might not be the most filling, but the flavors were on point. The fig jam was a nice touch and added a great sweetness to balance the savory prosciutto.
I also tried a key lime pie beer, and it wasn't bad! It had a strong lime flavor, which I liked, but I wish it was a little creamier--more like a pie. Still, I'd definitely recommend it if you like fruity beers.
The ordering process is different but easy: you scan a barcode at the table to view the menu, pay, and check out online. Then the bartender brings your food and drinks to you, and you kind of bus your own table once you're done. It keeps things casual but efficient.
The location is just outside downtown, nestled in a residential neighborhood, so it's surrounded by housing. There's a little parking lot, but street parking is available if the lot is full. It's super easy to get to, and even though it's not directly downtown, it's only a short drive away.
Overall, it was a great night. Food was delicious, drinks were good, and the atmosphere was perfect for a pre-show dinner. Definitely a place I'd return to!
