The sushi from here was so fresh and delicious. I got the hurricane shrimp roll and the Philly roll both were rolled perfectly and the presentation was amazing! The cashier seemed annoyed that I interrupted her conversation with another coworker and I thanked her many times throughout the transaction and she never acknowledged me but I would definitely come back to try more rolls.

Ordered a fried Calimary that cost $9.5 came in a small side dish. What a joke! It was made to order and they definitley had more portion they made but only gave me this small containers worth. Won't recommend this place. Kind of too salty too and oil they used doesn't seem fresh either.

Google
I think they have changed since all the initial bad reviews. I got the roll with the truffle oil and it was so good! My friend gets their tempura rolls every time and loves them.

Google
The taste of sushi was good We tried the fried shrimp ones It’s spicy and good But felt that the rice was very sticky

Google
Painfully average sushi. Usually when I eat something that is subpar I wouldn’t mind eating it again although I wouldn’t seek it out, but with this I would rather never eat this again. It’s as if Legacy Hall won’t let you rent a spot if you’re food is better than average. Try a different place or better yet leave the entire building.

Google
I really liked this place. Good attentive service and the sushi I had was unique and delicious. Salmon Truffle was shaped differently than a traditional roll, which I liked and also it had a little crunch and a little bit of spice. I highly reccomend you give it a try!

Google
New spot at Legacy Hall and it doesn't disappoint. Great service with handmade sushi. Because they after handmade, they're is a wait but not too long. It's fun to watch the craft at work. I had the California roll and was very good. Returned to get the Legacy Hall and the Tuna Tower. Can't wait to go back to adventure through the menu!

Amazing sushi. The crispy rice is the best. Every bite is flavor packed. A must try when at the food hall. Ask for fresh jalapeño slices.

Yelp
I love the variety of items Horu Sushi has to offer. What's even better is Horu Sushi being at Legacy Hall where you can order everything from your table without having to talk to anyone. I ordered the Hamachi Wrapped Roll ($18), which has an imitation crab filling, topped with Hamachi (yellowtail fish) tempura flakes, truffle oil, avocado, lemon & sriracha. While I didn't love the imitation crab filling, I did love the flavors the chef married in this roll. My only gripe were the costs of the rolls, as they run pretty pricey, but thats the cost you get when the chef imports his fish directly from Japan and Hawaii.

Yelp
Legacy Hall in Plano has one the most insane variety of food you've ever seen. It's kinda overwhelming with how many options there are. You can find cuisine from all over the place, it's crazy. With so much to choose from, it's tough to pick what to eat! The other day I was craving sushi but didn't have time for a full sit-down spot. I figured I'd try Horu since it's right there in the mall. Didn't expect much honestly but man was I wrong. The shishito peppers blew me away - they were so fresh and had a nice little kick. And get this - their Dragon Roll was out of control. It had so much flavor packed in, I couldn't believe it came from a food court. Everything just melted in your mouth. Seriously, if you're in the area you need to check out Horu. It's easy and fast but the quality is no joke. I'll definitely be back to try more of their stuff for sure. Don't sleep on Horu, it's a legit gem for quick sushi.

Yelp
I've tried food from here twice now and it's been amazing both times. They have both vegan and vegetarian options and not just one or two that need to be modified. It's nice it have more options that a simple cucumber or avocado roll. What I've tried: Vegetarian Hurricane Roll - tempura yam, cucumber, avocado, crispy angel hair, spicy mayo, sushi sauce Vegetarian Crunchy Spicy Roll - avocado, cucumber, jalapeño, spicy mayo, sushi sauce, crispy onion Spicy Edamame - edamame in a sweet and slightly spicy sauce

Sheila R.

Yelp
Located in the legacy food court, there is easy access to various cuisines in a central location. Arriving at slightly off hours, there was no line!!! We ordered the ahi tuna tower, spicy tuna roll, a California roll, rainbow roll, and a poke bowl. Within 5 minutes, our food was quickly plated! Prices are standard for sushi. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Seating in the court can be a bit rough as there are tables on 2nd and 3rd floors which are first come, first served. This and crowded parking make this location a bit tougher to visit regularly.

Yelp
FOOD Seafood Volcano Roll - This is a baked roll that has crab, crawfish, scallops, avocado, and cucumber and is drizzled with dynamite sauce. All the ingredients are baked to perfection. The sauce adds a bit of sweetness that is so good with the seafood taste. I always order this roll when we go and it is just so yummy! Horu Roll - This roll comes with crab, avocado, and tuna and is topped with tempura bacon, salmon, masago, lemons, scallion, and sauce (which are probably eel sauce and spicy mayo but I'm just guessing). The lemons actually add such great flavor to the roll. This roll is pretty simple but is so yummy. No fishiness in the seafood and everything complements each other. Very good roll! VIBES This place is within Legacy Food Hall so there are usually a lot of people going to other different restaurants in the area. A bit on the louder side but a fun place to meet up and have a great time with family and friends. There are also a variety of restaurants surrounding so if sushi isn't someone's thing they can always order from other restaurants too! SERVICE The people are so nice here. They were also super fast with getting our order out. It took no longer than 10 minutes to have everything ready.

Jess M.

Yelp
We got a California roll and a Spicy salmon roll. Of the two, I would recommend the Spicy salmon. It wasn't that the California roll was bad, it was just okay. It reminded me of the sushi I would get on break at the hospital. The rolls are hand made in front of you (really cool) and they are made very quickly!

Maka A.

Yelp
I've been craving sushi, but being pregnant I have to steer away from the raw fish. This place was great, I got a simple California roll and a shrimp tempura roll. They were both under $10 each and were a descent size. If it wasn't so full I would've loved to try their bigger rolls but this was great and it came out rather quickly!

Nycole R.

Yelp
There are so many options for great food at Legacy Hall, but don't overlook Horu Sushi. They do a lovely job of bringing fresh rolls and cuisine to the Plano area. I was not up for anything adventurous, so stuck with the traditional (boring) California roll. It was terrific-everything tasted fresh and the different flavors commingled in just the way you'd want from sushi. I also ordered a couple mochi ice cream balls for dessert. Unfortunately, by the time I finished my dinner, they were pretty melted. Not the fault of the restaurant, but if I return I'd order them separately so that doesn't happen.

Sarika S.

Yelp
It's a good sushi place located in legacy food hall. I tried the spicy salmon sushi and it was good. The tempura on top was crispy and yumm. I usually try veg sushi at this place but the salmon one was really tasty as well. And the serving is big. You can easily share it between 2. The service was quick. I ordered online and the order was ready in 5-7 mins. I got a table near the bar and it's always happening near that place. The vibe of the place was Good.

Jerica L.

Yelp
Since I moved here from NYC, I haven't had the best luck in finding a great sushi place until I tried this one. I don't normally buy sushi outside of a sushi restaurant but I'm happy that I gave this one a try. The sushi is fresh and delicious. The service of good and fast. I will definitely be back!

Lexie H.

Yelp
I have came to legacy hall and have a great experience at many other restaurants in the building. This specific restaurant unfortunately will NOT be something I will going back to. The service was bland, Lady at counter was staring, little communication used, just not a good experience. The sushi was good, I was satisfied while eating it, other than 1/2 the pieces falling apart, flavor was there. About 3-4 hours after eating here I had the absolute worst experience I've ever had with sushi. I threw up for an hour straight! My body completely rejected the sushi, and I felt completely ill. Definitely some food borne illness was in my sushi and/ or seaweed salad, either lack of food handling or preparation training, which is unacceptable for ANY restaurant.

Doyle K.

Yelp
Horu Sushi is a fantastic sushi option given how fresh and delicious their fish servings are, however, it's not for everyone. I ordered the Crunchy Salmon Roll and two pieces of Salmon Nigiri. I took my first bite, and was completely blown away at how fresh and delicious the salmon was. Definitely an ideal spot for some real fresh sushi. The only problem, is pricing. This one roll and two Salmon Nigiri cost me around $25. The sushi here is definitely good, and definitely a great option if you're really craving sushi, but there are tons of places in DFW, practically sushi Mecca, that you can get salmon and rolls this good or better for a better price. For these prices you could head on over to some real luxury dining such as Uchi or Nobu. However, this place is definitely delicious for the fish, that much can't be denied. It comes down to a matter of if you're willing to spend the money.

Sandra K.

Yelp
I ordered a rainbow roll, it was mediocre and overpriced at $15. The sushi chef kept staring at me while I was deciding what to order and while waiting for my food, he made me feel extremely uncomfortable. They did not have the friendliest cashier. I was disappointed and regretted ordering from Horu Sushi when there were many other fascinating restaurants literally a few steps away. Will be going to a different restaurant the next time I go to Legacy Food Hall.

Crystal W.

Yelp
Salmon nigiri tastes frozen and like plastic for $6.50 for two pieces definitely not worth it.

Danielle G.

Yelp
I got the BBQ Eel Roll & Dragon Roll. Both were amazing and had such great flavor! Would recommend when your wanting Sushi at Legacy Hall. Very quick to make it. I would have liked a little more soy sauce. The amount of soy sauce is pre poured but looks like enough for one roll.

Tiffany C.

Yelp
Honestly had my wig blown off by the truffle salmon. Ate it two days in a row. Actually craving it now that I'm thinking about it. Everything I've had from here has been so good. Edamame is bomb. Shishito peppers were bomb. I'll be back.

Sarah S.

Yelp
I've found my new favorite restaurant in Legacy Hall! The sushi here is fresh and SO DELICIOUS! And they also make the sushi QUICK! This is the perfect place to go on your lunch break if your on a time crunch! I ordered the spicy crunchy salmon roll and it exceeded my expectations. I am so excited to try the other rolls that they offer, the next time that I am at Legacy Hall. The people who worked here were very pleasant and kind. I highly recommend trying this place!

Michelle B.

Yelp
Honestly one of the best sushi I've had since moving from NY. It's a bit pricey and the atmosphere doesn't scream sushi bar since it's in a food hall but the spicy tuna crispy rice and the horu roll were out of this world. Fresh fish and excellent flavors.

Ella D.

Yelp
Delicious sushi! I got the spicy tuna roll and the fish was SO fresh. It practically melted in your mouth! Absolutely delicious.

Darin K.

Yelp
Located in the Legacy West food hall, I ordered truffle salmon and the hurricane tuna roll. Both were freshly made and full of flavor. Being a longtime sushi fan, I must tell you the truffle salmon was delicious and unique, highly recommended. This was exactly the sushi fix I needed during my visit to the Dallas area!

Rascal M.

Yelp
This is the first time I've tried this place.. it always has a line to order but i was suspicious of suspicious in a food hall. I had yellowtail sashimi. Its was great. Pot stickers were very tasty. And my salmon sushi was fresh and generous. Also... important to me and a must with my sushi, I had a decent bit of dry cold sake for a very reasonable price. So Winner! I like this place! I shall return!

Kristina M.

Yelp
Birthday sushi lunch!! Horu makes some amazing sushi... I got the Hurricane Shrimp roll which is shrimp tempura, cucumber, avocado, spicy tuna, with a delightful crispy angel hair topping with some spicy mayo- LOVE IT! One of my favs from this place and very filling. They have plenty to choose from on their menu, including some vegetarian options for those who are interested. I will always be back!

Rachel C.

Yelp
I am a huge fan of sushi and Horu Sushi did not disappoint! I had the ahi tuna tower for a light lunch and I was a little nervous for the heat level because of how much wasabi sauce they added. Once everything was mixed up, it was very well balanced and delicious! Horu Sushi is a quick and easy stop in Legacy Hall and I will definitely be returning!

Teri J.

Yelp
Ordered a hurricane shrimp roll and the stuffed jalapeño. Both were extremely delicious. The stuffed jalapeño was bursting with flavor and the jalapeño was hot, but wasn't ridiculous spicy, which I enjoy. The shrimp roll was large enough to share, but of course I didn't. (: Overall I would def snag a roll or two from this place when at Legacy Hall. Though I do wish they gave more soy sauce for your rolls for people who are avid dippers, like myself.

Hungry Q.

Yelp
This sushi restaurant at legacy hall is the best!! It's the perfect place to grab a bite and explore the shops at legacy west! Horu sushi gives a contemporary twist on the rich culinary heritage of Japanese sushi with new refreshing flavors and texture! If you are a sushi lover this is the place to go because they have a wide variety of options to choose from. Our favorite was the Hamachi tempura roll but we definitely enjoyed the presentation of the seafood volcano Hit up this spot for great sushi!

Yan L.

Yelp
HORO sushi HORU sushi is the freshest food ingredient I have ever tasted, and the Japanese exquisite creative cuisine made with ordinary ingredients. It is the most memorable taste. HoRu Sushi Kitchen As bright as the night pearl in the clam shell.

Andrea S.

Yelp
The Salmon was fresh. Service was good and we got our food quick. It's looks small but it fills you up.

Stephanie E.

Yelp
Visiting from California and wanted to see if the Texas sushi was good. The price was more expensive than some of the very best I've tried in Cali. Like another review stated, they do stare at you while you're looking at the menu. I had asked for my order to-go but they gave me a dine-in plate when I came to pick it up. I asked politely if they could switch it to a box and one of the older women gave me a bit of attitude. I said thanks but just got a blank stare back. Sushi was good, not amazing, but not worth the price, in my opinion. Not a good experience :(

Chris K.

Yelp
I'm full and sleepy because I ate way too much sushi, so I'm a little lazy, but had to write a review because I forget every time I go. It's great. That's all, so goodnight.

J J.

Yelp
If I were the owner, I would fire everyone immediately! How rude can you be to guests! We ask questions they don't speak just nod? Wtf? We asked for ponzu and Sriracha they act like we are disrespectful....never again, unless the owner calls to apologize! So rude! We went up to give trays to them, they just pointed in a direction. This lady is so rude! FIRED!!!

Phil R.

Yelp
Just moved from Newport Beach, California where sushi is to die for right off the the boat. Horu is the best sushi I've ever had. Try the hamachi roll :)

Eric K.

Yelp
First time ordering from Horu Sushi. Spicy tuna and spicy salmon roll. Please give them a try, and SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL RESTAURANTS

Andrew F.

Yelp
Horu has some of the better sushi I've had in the Dallas area. They have done a great job of putting interesting twists on classic sushi ingredients. I recommend the Truffle Salmon sushi or the Horu Roll. The seafood volcano and Ahi Tuna Tower are decent as well. Pair with a beer from the second floor to emphaize some of the umami flavors.

Alex L.

Yelp
Many fast casual have hopped in and out of Legacy Hall in the past year that I haven't been able to keep track of who is where. First time I heard of Horu Sushi was a couple weeks ago when we saw an advertisement for $55 for a meal that could feed 4 people along with your choice of either Sapporo or sake. The meal included was a chicken katsu, jalapeño tempura, seaweed salad and rice. Many restaurants in the past tend to go for the quantity over quality or extreme quality over quantity. Horu Sushi finds the balance and spoils the diner with so many authentic tastes! I would even wait a day to eat the chicken katsu as the flavors of the curry really come alive after a day or two sitting in the fridge! If you plan on reheating your meal though, I would recommend reheating the jalapeño tempura and chicken katsu in a small toaster oven. Also, the jalapeño popper is not as spicy as one would think. There is cream cheese in there along with a nice helping of crabmeat! Can't wait for Legacy Hall to reopen. Once they do I want to drop by and try the ramen! if it is any indication of how our initial meal was that we picked up last week then I better strap myself in because Horu Sushi has the acumen for an authentic izakaya meal. Here's to next time and hopefully in person! Kampai!

Kenya R.

Yelp
$13 for a huge roll. That's a steal. I forgot to take a picture, but it was the delicious. I had the Volcano roll. It was super busy, but they were on it. It's located inside Legacy Food Hall. I highly recommend eating here. I saw the Ahi sushi tower, and it looked pretty tasty.

Marissa M.

Yelp
My husband and I thought we'd try out some sushi at legacy hall, wasn't the best idea after eating the sushi. First the cashier was so rude when we asked for more soy sauce. She rolled her eyes and dropped them on the try! Second the rolls fell apart right when you'd try to pick them up. Third, it was so just not good sushi. Definitely not getting sushi there again!

Emma L.

Yelp
Came here on Saturday night ordered their special A5 Wagyu beef sushi , Santa Barbara uni and salmon sushi. The uni is really fresh and I felt the wagyu sushi melt in my mouth instantly. The wagyu beef sushi is a little bit pricey but definitely worth it. Will come back for more during weekday lunch time.

Alan Y.

Yelp
Came here on their grand opening day didn't expect much since its a sushi place in a food court. I ordered the Steve Roll and it totally went beyond my expectation. It's shrimp tempura roll topped with taro chip , guacamole , and Japanese flavor spicy sauce. It is sooo good! The cashier and chef are very friendly. After today it became one of my favorite restaurants in legacy hall

Marie T.

Yelp
I went here for lunch as I was looking to have something healthy and fresh. Whenever I get sushi, I tend to get whatever riceless cucumber wrapped roll that is served, which I was happy to have found here. The Oishii roll came with a variety of fish (salmon, tuna), along with imitation crab. With the roll, I ordered a side of fried potstickers.. I guess to balance the super healthy part of my meal. Both items were good - not amazing. Would I come here again? I would but the price point is comparable to sit down sushi restaurants while this should be a fast casual concept considering the kind of environment that Legacy Food Hall is. I'm sure the price can be backed up by the source (let's face it, fresh seafood is heard to get in the middle of Texas). As for the service, staff was friendly so that's a plus. Overall, this is a cool spot to get a sushi fix in Legacy Food Hall but I would only get it if I was really craving for sushi at the moment and wasn't willing to drive elsewhere.

Sly F.

Yelp
I've eaten here several times for lunch and recommend it for those who don't want to go to the pricier sit down restaurant on the opposite side of the Legacy West stop - Kai (highly recommend). I feel they put a lot of toppings on, which I think most people who visit this hall would like, but I find it too overwhelming. I prefer the more traditional rolls I can procure from Kai.

Maria R.

Yelp
Wonderful sushi spot!!! Tried it in a whim and the food was delicious. Service was quick for a to-go spot. We ordered the hurricane shrimp roll, hamachi tempura roll (no cream cheese) which were delicious. Also had shishito peppers and pot stickers, both were cooked to perfection and seasoned well!! Will be back.

Debbie H.

Yelp
With everything that's going on lately, we got really tired of cooking at home and were craving some sushi. Saw a suggestion for Horu Sushi on Instagram for a Poke Special and decided to try it out. For $60 we got poke portion that are meant to feed 4 but was definitely enough for at least 5 adults. The fish was super fresh and perfectly seasoned. Also order the cucumber roll and eel roll. I didn't get to try any of the eel roll because the kiddos got to it first and the entire roll was gone by the time I was done setting the table...even the tempura crumbs . My entire family was super impressed with the meal and it was a great way to spruce up an otherwise boring covid-Saturday. Already looking forward to ordering from them again!!!

Julia E.

Yelp
Eat here if you want food poisoning. Not only was the cashier very rude, but I threw up THREE times since eating. Absolutely foul

Laura J.

Yelp
Fresh sushi! We got seafood volcano and hurricane shrimp as they recommend it. It was really good, the sauce on the seafood volcano was really tasty, the hurricane shrimp is unique and delicious. Price reasonable. It's one of my favorite sushi place in Plano now!

Andy L.

Yelp
Fresh sushi, good food. My favorite is spicy edamame , potstickers, crunchy spicy tuna.

Jennifer W.

Yelp
My recent favorite sushi restaurant! Highly recommend volcano and Chef Steve rolls! It really surprised by unique thoughts of foods and most importantly it tastes really amazing! I definitely will try the rest of menu next time!

Cihang Y.

Yelp
This will not be a place you want to visit when you go to Legacy West. They didn't provide good service. And their food is not delicious at all. Meanwhile, the price is very high. Not worth it!

J B.

Yelp
This place is amazing! Fresh, generous sized portions at a good price. This is my first visit - I wish Horu was closer to me!

Katie S.

Yelp
This review is for the service here... glad I am not the only one! I hobbled my super pregnant self in there today to get some veggie sushi. I asked the cashier if the tempura or hurricane roll is better. She suggested hurricane so I went with that. It was 13 dollars but I figured it would be good. I waited 10 minutes and she rudely handed me my bag. I took a peak and saw a shrimp tail. I went back and said I'm so sorry is this the vegetarian roll? I hadn't realized there is also a shrimp hurricane roll but in fairness she didn't clarify either as to which one I wanted. She very rudely snatched the bag back and started whispering to the chefs. I started to say it's ok don't worry about it and she snapped back something that I didn't quite understand. I awkwardly waited another 10 minutes and she finally shoved another bag at me. I think I apologized about the miscommunication 2 or 3 times and she never said a word. She is so so rude. I'm sorry but for 13 dollars I think it is fair enough to get what I ordered. I will give credit where it is due the roll was super delicious. Please just beware of the customer service here, they certainly do not value your business.
