"A Baltimore hotel where the bar manager oversees all beverage programs and brings a thoughtful, service-oriented approach informed by a background in theology; she draws parallels between organized religion and bars, emphasizing acceptance and creating an atmosphere that makes guests feel comfortable beyond the food and drink. Pretty solid hotel, very good location by the Washington Monument. Love the layout, interesting even for a boutique hotel, friendly staff and great service overall. Especially love the featured art. Rooms were comfortable, although the walls are thin. Carpets could use a refresh too. A fair number of walkable amenities although the connection to the Inner Harbor means passing through some less nice areas. Overall really liked this hotel and recommend it, excellent value.

Not sure how anyone could leave this hotel a one-star review. This was our first time staying here, and we chose it for an anniversary staycation from Philly, and it did not disappoint! From the moment we arrived, the staff was exceptional. Lorenzo, the front end assistant manager, was incredibly welcoming. The valet team was prompt and courteous, and Amy went above and beyond to help with a late checkout. Our room was spotless and had a unique, eclectic charm that made it feel really special. Every detail of our stay exceeded expectations. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

I could find no fault with Revival, and I travel often so have many hotels to compare it to. From the warm and welcoming staff, to the large rooms, to the location (close to restaurants, museums, and historical spots) I had a great stay. It is very well-situated, and easy to get around the city. Their restaurants have delicious food and drinks; I especially liked the little cafe on the ground floor where I was able to get some work done while enjoying a nice coffee. I won't consider staying at any other hotel when I return to Baltimore. Revival is 5 star all the way!

Google
I have stayed at this property multiple times in the past. The location is superb. This visit was my first after the rebranding/ renovation to Revival. The first impressions are the open and friendly hospitality of the staff. Then you notice the attention to detail and the thoughtful design. The room was impeccably clean, spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed the eclectic touches in the decor that firmly connected the hotel to the location. Each staff member with whom we interacted seemed very engaged and happy to be there, which is frequently an indication that upper management is definitely “doing something right “.

Google
Be careful when booking with this hotel. They have an option to prepay up front for a discounted rate, which is nonrefundable. I was careful not to select that option. Instead I chose the "stay 3 and save" option, which offers a discounted rate if you stay more than three nights. Well, apparently this is also charged up front and nonrefundable. They hid that in the fine print. Very shady and morally slimy behavior from this hotel all around.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! The sheets were covered in THROW UP and PET HAIR head to toe!! One pillow was completely yellow and covered in URINE. The blinds had snot on them, the rug had hair ties and bobby pins that were left prior, showing that they were not cleaned or vaccumed. The tub had multiple long hairs in it, and towels were marked with makeup upon arrival. Our room was not cleaned, event he walls had finger prints and dirt on them - When we confronted staff we were told the manager leaves at 3pm. Mind you checkin is at 4. We were also denied another room and not allowed to leave the hotel. Our car was valeted and after 11pm you are not allowed to retrieve your vehicle for any reason! We were given only one option of changing the sheets which the front desk attendant did for us and had no option but to lay in a bed that just had hair urine and vomit covering it. The worst experience in a hotel of my life and I've been in the hospitality industry almost 5 years now. DO NOT STAY HERE.

I've stayed here twice now, it's quickly becoming my go-to escape from D.C.. The hotel is a wonderful retreat in the heart of the Mt. Vernon neighborhood in Baltimore it hosts impressive views of the Washington monument. Inside there's tons of artwork to see within the lobby and lounge as well as each hallway, the staff here as well are top notch professionals that handle everything with a smile and friendly manner that makes coming back so much easier. I've only ever stayed in the corner king rooms which are very large and very comfortable the bedding is great and the room amenities are quality. The hotel also provides two restaurants as well as speakeasy for late night fun. In the mornings if the rooms pour over coffee station isn't something you want head down to the Dashery for espresso and fresh juices to start you day. At night unwind under the stars at Topside with amazing views of the city. If you're planning on coming to Baltimore ditch the AirBNB for a much better choice here at the Revival.

Google
A very nice place. Enjoyed staying there. I would ask those who are excited to visit there, you won't be disappointed. These are areas to improve if you can: 1. Add complimentary breakfast free 2. Room size was compact, bathroom door blocks closet. 3. Elevator was slow and little scary. However, I would come back to this place next time without hesitation. Really nice services.

Yelp
This hotel is EVERYTHING! It's central, comfortable, safe and has amazing amenities. I spent the night here to help with a work event. They have a beautiful rooftop bar that gives you a 360 view of the city and that serves really delicious cocktails. I enjoyed the aperol spritz I got there. Every corner of this hotel is aesthetically pleasing. They also have a speakeasy bar. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to check it out on this visit, but plan to in the future. There is another spot that offers karaoke too and a cute little cafe for a quick morning bite. I drove up from Richmond. Upon arrival, I parked my car right in front and was able to get it valeted. It was about $49 for the evening. To get my car the next day I just texted a number. Checking in took a little bit. I think there was some overbooking issues with memorial day weekend stuff, but this didn't bother me too much. I got a spacious king bedroom. I adored the art on the walls. It's not often I'm at a hotel and think that I want the art they have on their walls in my own home. The bathroom was beautifully designed too with a cozy tub. Reliving my experience here by writing about it is making wish I was there right now. I really loved this hotel and highly recommend checking it out. It's in one of the prettiest neighborhoods in the city.

Yelp
Nice hotel overall. We were actually reserved at a different hotel nearby, but it was definitely subpar, so luckily Revival had a room. The rooms are nice and stylish. We had a bit of trouble getting our AC to cool the room, but eventually it worked. The bed was ok night one, but started to hurt my back a bit night 2...mattress seemed just a bit worn. We grabbed food a couple times at the cafe downstairs, and I found the food to be pretty good. All areas of the hotel we ventured to seemed clean and tidy. The biggest issue we had was with our luggage. The front door entry was pretty tight and had no ramp, so as small ladies we struggled to get our larger bag in and out. Other than that the stay was pretty good. To me the area was hit or miss. We were there for a specific event next door, making the location ideal. But outside of that particular situation it wouldn't have been an area I'd have sought out. I wasn't especially comfortable as I walked to a few nearby locations. Some interesting architecture around however.

Yelp
Fantastic weekend stay celebrating my friend's birthday. Valet parking is available but you can also cancel street parking or check out a nearby garage. Oz provided great service for check-in and even offered an upgrade for the birthday celebration! The room was located in a corner so it was nice and spacious with cool views of Mt. Vernon. I like the decor of the rooms and main areas and no issues with the shower or any plumbing. There are no microwaves which is a bummer but not a huge deal breaker. No issues with noise and was able to get a good nights rest. Highly recommend this place and look forward to staying again!

Yelp
With a nice day at the Hotel revival in Baltimore. The ambience is great and the rooms are well appointed and comfortable. The staff is courteous and prompt in responding to requests from guests. The lobby was especially comfortable and the location can't be beat.

Yelp
ORIGIN: Hotel Revival opened in 2018, a true revival of the former hotel that marked this site for nearly four decades -- the Peabody Court Hotel. The 107 room hotel is currently part of the Austin-based New Waterloo hotel management group (https://newwaterloo.com). LOCATION: The hotel is situated in the historic community of Mount Vernon, a residential neighborhood once favored by 19th century U.S entrepreneurs and social leaders, including the founder of B & O Railroad, John Garrett and his daughter Mary Elizabeth, a women's rights pioneer. A landscaped park that is adorned with a water fountain, benches, and cafe tables is located across the street. CONCEPT: The hotel is designed to make guests feel that 101 West Monument is their own residence, however temporary. The interior design is eclectic, suggesting rooms are composed of sentimental treasures and investments acquired over time. EXPERIENCE: I did feel right at home in the Washington Monument facing room, a notion supported by the cheerful and helpful service staff, including Towanda, Florenzo, and Dorion, and thoughtfully added room amenities. For example, the suite has a water kettle, a variety of bagged teas and coffees, and ceramic mugs, as well as a leather bedside tray and decorative wall hook to store items. A cafe ('Dashery), rooftop restaurant (Topside), and bar (B-Side) can also be found in the fourteen story brick building, making it unnecessary for weary guests to travel far. The rooftop restaurant and ground floor bar have some unique features that in themselves make the hotel a worthy destination (reviews forthcoming). TIPS: Rates vary significantly (I'm talking hundreds of dollar variation), with summer being the least expensive time to visit. If your goal is not to escape summertime East coast humidity, summer is a frugal time to arrange a stay. Monument rooms ensure a view that faces the park and Washington Monument. The hotel welcomes pets. The beds are platform style, so the mattresses are without box springs and as a result are on the firmer side. A rooftop Garden Room is available for private events. I was told by Sarah (Topside hostess) that all employees are invited to a monthly meditation/yoga event in this room! Some items produced by women and Black-owned businesses are sold in a corner of the lobby.

Yelp
I went here for a wedding after party and it was the cutest hotel. Great service at the upstairs bar and incredibly cute, spacious and nice hotel rooms. Would love to have an event here of my own one day!

Yelp
My partner and I have stayed here twice now. It is such a lovely and carefully designed and curated space. - The staff are friendly and helpful - Very clean & affordable - Love the different bar and restaurant options Parking is a little expensive if you do valet ($49 a day), but we usually park in the lot down the street for $30-$38 a day. The coffee offered is very good and tasty!

Yelp
We have a great stay which included a block of rooms for family attending a wedding. This place seamlessly blends the old with the new. The lobby is inviting and comfortable, the rooms were well appointed and eclectic, and the bar was excellent. Additionally, the staff was friendly and helpful, particularly when this traveler managed to leave his computer on the nightstand. Lorenza and Sydney deserve a special shout out for getting it shipped back to me. They were on top of it every step of the way and really put my mind at ease. I look forward to a return visit when I'm next in the Baltimore area.

Yelp
If I could give 0 stars, I would. Worst hotel experience ever and somehow wasn't offered a refund. We had to switch rooms THREE TIMES and the third room wasn't great either, but we were tired and using this as a place to rest while my father was in the hospital. First room, a dog was left alone in its room for hours and nonstop barking. We saw the owners come back later and the hotel seemed to have no measures in place to protect pets from this kind of neglect. Pets should never be left alone in hotels - they are anxious in a new place and how do we know they are being cared for? The bathroom had clearly not been cleaned as well - pictured. Second room, the sink was broken and gushing water from the pipes - picture attached. Third room, smelled like weed and clearly hadn't been aired out. The sink also wasn't draining at all. At this point, we just couldn't deal with it anymore and stuck with the awful room. What a shameful place and a huge waste of money.

Yelp
The location was perfect for what we needed. But...I've stayed in a lot of better hotels for a lot less money! Personnel were outstanding and helpful. The mattresses were the worst! Like sleeping on a Futon in your cousin's basement! Personnel get 5-stars Rooms get 2-stars. The Dashery Cafe was the best part of our experience and their food was amazing! 5-stars!

Yelp
The hotel is beautiful. Well maintained, and such a unique property. I initially gave the hotel a 2 star rating, but I am now updating it to a 5 star. I attempted to use valet parking, but as my car was manual transmission, no one was able to it was left in the street. This wouldn't have been a big deal, except I was then charged the full $50 for parking, despite approaching several staff members about my concerns. Today, I received a reply from the general manager, with an apology and a full refund. I can now give the hotel the five star review it deserves!!

Yelp
Beautiful hotel in the Mount Vernon area of Baltimore. Room was spacious, clean, and the decor was charming. Bathroom was large, beautiful glass shower. And the staff was very accommodating- we arrived shortly after noon and they let us check in early. Definitely would return if in the area again!

Yelp
My experience at this hotel was by far the worst experience I've ever had for the amount of money it cost per night. 80 degrees and a non working A/C was absolutely ridiculous. Receiving a box fan to circulate hot air is beyond my comprehension. Not being fully compensated and or at least partially compensated is inexcusable. Having maintenance who cannot fix a problem and pretend as if they did is a problem. The hotel appears to have this regal/modern flare yet most staff were in street clothes except valet. The manager had a hoodie and jeans on and he's expected to represent the hotel? It's mind blowing. I couldn't tell him from a person on the street. The quality of service does not reflect the standards of the hotel.

Grace W.

Yelp
Hotel is in a great location, walkable to so much and a beautiful neighborhood. The bed was not comfortable and very loud - if your travel partner rolls over you are definitely waking up. Based on other reviews they need to upgrade the mattresses. I would expect better quality for the price of the room. Also, the cleaning staff knocked on our door at 9:30am when check out is at 11. That was pretty annoying.

Yelp
Booked a stay for the end of March for an impromptu Baltimore trip and had a great time. As a UBalt alum, it was nice to be in the Mount Vernon neighborhood again, and it's a quick ride to the inner harbor for the tourist stuff. Front desk was very welcoming and helpful. Had a maintenance issue when the fire doors closed and I was unable to get back to my room, and everything was taken care of very promptly. Room was cute and had a great view. Make sure that you check out the wallpaper on the staircase right past the valet desk. It will surprise you.

M J.

Yelp
We stayed 2 nights for our wedding anniversary and everything was absolutely perfect. Every interaction with the staff was above and beyond starting with the gentleman who served as our valet and bellhop (missed his name), then Lawanda who checked us in at the desk and Vanessa who we ran into on multiple occasions-they really made us feel like we were part of the family. The Topside Restaurant food and drinks were delicious and both of our servers, Sue and Larisa, were wonderful and super helpful with recommendations! Visited the B-side speakeasy for cocktails after dinner and, holy smokes! The atmosphere (decor and music) was amazing. Our bartender Brent was the most fun, knowledgeable and creative cocktail artist we've ever encountered. Again, we truly felt like we were in the home of just the most gracious, welcoming family our entire trip. We can't wait to go back!

Jillian C.

Yelp
BEAUTIFUL experience. Amazing service. I never leave reviews for hotels, but this was such a great time

Darrin B.

Yelp
The hotel was fine, until the cleaning staff stole the nice, sleek, zippered case for my Sony headphones off the dresser. There wasn't room for it in the safe after I'd put all my electronics in it, so I left it out, thinking "who would steal an empty case?" Well, I found out who would steal an empty case. The front desk says nothing was turned into lost and found, but they'll call me if it turns up, blah blah blah. Now I can't pack the headphones or protect them, unless I hold them in my hand all the way back to the West Coast. Thanks for nothing, Hotel Revival.

Claire A.

Yelp
The hotel looked like a page from Architectural Digest. Every detail was well-planned and designed. Our room was very clean and had a lovely view. The hotel rooms offer quality soaps, linens, and glassware as well as a seating area and a spacious bathroom. We were comfortable, safe, and felt very much at home. We would 100% recommend it.

Emyon L.

Yelp
This hotel is amazing. I loved the karaoke room as well as the speakeasy and the restaurant. The staff was accommodating and they made sure I was well taken care off. The food is absolutely amazing down to the presentation. Management was excellent. The attention to detail with the decor throughout the hotel had me in awe.

H B.

Yelp
What a pleasant surprise to find a reasonably priced hotel in a safer location in Baltimore. I'm a fan of the historic architecture of Baltimore and the quiet museum that is very close. The roof top lounge and restaurant is nice also.

Cyndi M.

Yelp
Incredible hotel staff from valet to front desk staff to restaurant staff The rooms were beautifully decorated and very comfortable Rates on rooms very reasonable as well The only thing that wasn't great was it cost 46 overnight to park which is very, very high cost But the whole valet staff were great
google avatar

Jennifer T.

Yelp
If only all hotels had such excellent attention to detail and intention to create a unique, welcoming sense of place. Every staff person I interacted with was friendly and professional, the room was comfortable (love the kettle rather than a Keurig! Much cleaner, and my tea didn't taste like coffee), the gym was small but adequate, each part of the hotel was well curated from a design perspective, and onsite restaurants were excellent. In particular, the Dashery offers excellent options such as bagels, smoothies, fruit, and pastries. My only (minor) complaint is in regard to the upstairs restaurant. The vegetarian entrée is a $24 plate of cauliflower and a few pickles, which is devoid of any protein value (something that wouldn't be offered to a meat-eater). Suggested additions for future vegetarian dishes include beans, lentils, edamame, tofu, tempeh, seitan, etc.

Yelp
Whoever designed the room so that the closet was located inside the bathroom (behind the bathroom door for added awkwardness) obviously did not do well in school. The lighting was horribly inadequate. The coffee pot was absolutely filthy. The coffee cups had stains from previous use. The clock radio was coated in dust. The charge for valet parking is outrageous. STAY ELSEWHERE!

Yelp
We loved this hotel. We were just passing through and stayed one night. The design is fun and interesting. The speakeasy was great and front desk was friendly and helpful. Would stay again.

Yelp
Beautiful place! Good food, and Mr. Walter and the valet team were next-level wonderful.

Yelp
We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful hotel. The front desk was courteous and attentive. We had a room on the 14th floor, one floor below the restaurant. There was no noise coming from upstairs. The only sounds all night was the slight hum from the AC. Decor was modern and sophisticated. Very clean room, nearly dustless on all surfaces. Furniture in excellent condition. No bedbugs or fleas. Linens were crisp and king bed was great. Elevator only works for guests, unless going to the restaurant, so there's an added layer of security. Neighborhood was lovely. Would definitely recommend and would stay again if ever in town again.

Ted W.

Yelp
We were looking forward to having a staycation at this nice-looking hotel, but our plan was immediately ruined after checking in. Even though I made sure about the room we reserved (King Studio) by calling a few days prior to arrival, we were brought to a regular King room without any explanation about the change at the front desk. When I contacted the front, we were told the room we reserved was sold out. The strange thing was that the spacious rooms were available according to their website on that day and the next day. But they insisted the rooms were sold out and they offered a refund for the difference. Of course, it was good we got some money back, but we rather paid more to stay in the spacious room. After coming back home, I received the receipt and noticed that breakfast was charged even if we paid for the Bed and Breakfast plan. No response to my email for a few days, I finally called the hotel and was told it was fixed. When I saw the revised receipt, there was still another mistake. No response to my email again, I called them but my request was denied even after they talked to a manager. I requested to transfer the call to a manager, but his message box was full. I asked for his email address and sent him an email and left my name and phone number. No emails or phone calls have come back from a manager. I knew this hotel became out of the Hyatt group in May and I assumed that affected their management, but this kind of management was not expected from the level of the hotel they claimed. I gave them an extra star because the facility itself and the working staff (valet parking, breakfast restaurant, etc.) were nice (except for one receptionist), but I won't be surprised if their rating will be going downhill in the near future based on my experience with the bad management.
