The 12 Best Restaurants In Avon & Edwards, Colorado - Vail - The Infatuation

"Hovey & Harrison is doing its best impression of an Olympic athlete who signs up for all the ski events. Except instead of downhill, slalom, and alpine combine, this communal space is part market, part deli, part bakery, and part dining room. The open-faced toasts with things like smashed avocado and roasted beets are worth waiting in line for, the peach hand pies and salted chocolate chip cookies are equally good, and there are always excellent grab-and-go salads, sandwiches, and soups. You might even spot real-life alpine skier Mikaela Shiffrin in here buying some pottery, organic ketchup, and Italian olive oil when she’s not in Europe collecting medals." - kim fuller

Where To Eat and Drink in the Mountains This Ski Season | Eater Denver

"H&H is a market, cafe, bakery, and bar rolled into one. They use local ingredients from Western Slope farmers whenever possible for breakfast burritos, farm breakfasts, and bowls (like the one with lamb meatballs, Fruition Farms award-winning sheep’s milk feta, polenta and brodo). They have a full coffee menu, cocktails and beer, cider and wine on tap. They also have produce, bakery, and grab & go options." - Rebecca Treon

Went there today (01/20) and the service from everyone was AMAZING! The carajillo was delicious and so was everything else. Have been coming here for ages and I still love it every time. It’s a happy dance after every bite. My favorites are the flourless chocolate cake and the quinoa salad, please try them!!

Google
This is the best kept secret in the Vail area. I can't believe I have been coming here for years, and I didn't know about this place. The food is so good that you literally need to stop eating after you take a bite because it is just that good. I can't believe this place doesn't have a Michelin star.

Google
The pastries are so divine! The monkey bread, scones, cookies… I could go on! I also tried the egg sandwich and the yogurt bowl while in town. Highly recommend a stop at this very beautiful, cozy cafe.

Wonderful mainstay in Edwards Corner. This cafe/bakery has been one our go-to stops for years in the Vail valley area. The service and food is always great. The baked goods are always delicious and the hot food never disappoints. There is often a line, but certainly worth the wait. Snag a menu and walk up to the counter to order. The smothered breakfast burrito is one of my personal favorites. Also, don’t forget to grab some bars or baked goods for the drive home. Also, this cafe is best for parties of 4 or less, as seating can sometimes be a bit tricky.

Google
This is the cutest spot with the best atmosphere! It’s evident it’s a well-loved local hangout. Spent a little time here to get some work done, and enjoyed one of the tastiest drinks of my life: Golden Root Ginger Turmeric Latte. My only complaint is that every pastry looked INCREDIBLE and I wanted a bite of them all(!)

Inspirational G.

Google
One of the best donuts I’ve had! Sunday morning with my family and I don’t regret coming here. I had the smothered burrito, which I’ll admit next time I would go with the non-smothered option and get the sauce on the side. My wife had the egg sandwich and she and my daughter gobbled it up! The coffee was perfect. Yogurt bowl was superb. I don’t like yogurt too much but I couldn’t stop eating this with its moderately sweet, crispy crunch of granola and seed mixture and plentiful. Leaving satisfied is one the feelings I look for in a meal visit. We’ll be back and try something new and enjoy the process!!

Google
Such a beautiful view this cafe has, they are truly lucky to have it. loved the avocado toast and bacon was one of the best. Don’t recall the drink I got but had matcha in it. Was so refreshing. Love the grab and go items they have for breakfast or lunch. Sat and got a good amount of work done here. Very pleasant staff

Google
I’m so happy that I stumbled upon this lovely cafe on my recent trip to the Edwards/Beaver Creek area. Hovey & Harrison was a real treat, it’s a bakery/cafe with a small selection of market items as well, and what a delight it was! As soon as I entered the cafe I felt the warmth of a hidden gem, with such a variety of market items and a packed pastry case to look at and mesmerize, I immediately knew I was in for a treat! All of the bakery items I tried were absolutely delicious! I ordered the Coffee Cake, Morning Bun, and the Mocha and Maple Macaron. They were all delectable, and I paired it with a London Fog Latte. If I wasn’t on a time crunch, I would have ordered from the cafe menu because they had so many great options. Next time I will be sure to get bakery treats and something savory off the menu. At the time of my visit, they did not have any indoor dining options, everything was prepared in a to go box, and then I sat in the outside seating area to enjoy the treats. They have a lovely set up out front, and the interior of Hovey & Harrison was beautiful as well! Very clean and organized, with a nice rustic charm to it. I admired the unique menu boards that hang on the wall, almost like a giant scroll, very nifty. They also serve cocktails, beer, and wine, so sip sip hooray! I’m already looking forward to my next visit to this rustic bakery! The service was fast and friendly, and the team here at Hovey & Harrison have definitely created a space worthy of the Colorado community. Hovey & Harrison is the perfect spot in Edwards to gather around with your family and friends and “eat real food” and enjoy the simple things in life, like a delicious pastry on a beautiful day!

Yelp
I. Love. This. Place. Every time we're in the mountains--whether it's ski season or bike season--H&H is a must-stop. It's our go-to for a pre-adventure breakfast, an afternoon latte break, or honestly, just because. I'm obsessed with the oat milk lattes and breakfast burritos (those potatoes?! Unreal). But let's be real--the pastries steal the show. I literally dream about the monkey bread. If there's a long line, I start calculating how many people might get there before me and wipe out the supply. Bonus: It's not just a café. It's a very cool shop with great wine, local goodies, and thoughtful gifts--I always find a crowd-pleasing host gift in minutes. Only heads-up? Seating can be tight during peak times. But trust me, it's worth the wait.

Yelp
Mmmmhmhmmmhmmhhhmmmmmm Delicious!!! Perfect for a snowing morning in the mountains. I grabbed a lavender latte with oatmilk, this is a hit or Miss drink but with their house made syrup 10/10. Call me goldilocks it was Not too bitter not too sweet, juuuuust right! The money bread was divine with little crispy bits around (yum) The Twix was so so so yum BUT I could'nt ever eat the whole thing in one sitting! The blueberry muffin needs work... it was dry and the berries were all at the bottom. The donut was superb, it was fluffy, creamy and simply scrumptious.

Yelp
First thing you need to know is there is no menus posted anywhere. Second, you'll be cut in line waiting for the food. There is no real structure to anything here. The pricing is demonstrably expensive compared to the yeti grind or Loaded Joes. The ambiance is really the only redeeming thing about this place and it's not saying much. If you're over the age of 50 and want a place for your stuffy brunch. Come here. If not avoid.

Yelp
Breakfast burrito - red salsa is sweet kind of apricotty tasting and the green is pretty spicy so if you don't like sweet or spicy I'd recommend asking for ketchup or maybe sour cream if they have it to tone down the spicy salsa The burrito was bomb, really good queso inside and perfectly crispy on the outside. My only note would be that the eggs could use some more seasoning Broccoli Cheddar Soup - very good but could use a bit more salt in my opinion (but I am also a salt heavy person) Salted Bread - freakin phenomenal coming from a San Francisco sourdough consumer Very cute place, great for a sit down lunch My only other note would be that a few of the menu items are a bit confusing as to what they are but overall had an awesome experience!!

Yelp
I love this place! It is definitely a go to coffee spot for me. The coffee is delicious, creamy and flavorful. They have a wide variety of treats and goodies which are quite unique as well as actual breakfast items and other bar drinks. THE STAFF IS WHAT MAKES THE EXPERIENCE! They are all happy to serve, answer questions and correct errors with ZERO attitude and a smile. They accidentally made me a hot latte instead of iced and ended up giving me both. The ambiance is one of my favorite parts. It's a rustic, chic vibe and the indoor, outdoor flow is perfect in the summer time! Overall, every local and visitor should try to stop by and enjoy what Hovey and Harrison has to offer

Yelp
Food is very high quality. Great outdoor and indoor seating - dog friendly out on patio! Would definitely recommend the breakfast sandwiches.

Yelp
The cutest little cafe that we stopped at on our way to Aspen! They had a variety of options for food and drinks. My friends and I shared a couple of pastries and they were all very delicious. I also ordered a the breakfast burrito which was very tasty and a good portion. The tater tots were one of the best I've ever had. I would highly recommend them as a side if you can. If you are in the area it's a great spot for a break!

Yelp
Pretty place, bustling, nice indoor/outdoor patio. But it's like lipstick on a pig. We stood in line for 20 minutes on a Saturday at 1 pm and by 1:45 there was still 6 people in front of us. We stopped in for a loaf of bread and coffees. I was about to leave but someone had walked up to the bar and asked to buy bread so o followed and bought bread and left. It's a shame the staff didn't have the wherewithal to start taking orders and payments to folks in line. Won't ever be back. There is plenty of coffee places nearby and the bread was good but not $13 good. Also there was no prices on the bread so it was jokers wild when it rang up.
google avatar

Lisa S.

Yelp
What a fabulous find! The food is out of this world! Everything is made from scratch including the baked goods. I'll be back and it was so good for breakfast I wanted to stay for lunch! Homemade Tomato Parmesan Soup! Great service, Nick took great care of us at the counter! This place is a gem!!!!

Yelp
Super trendy cafe with a great breakfast selection. Located in Edwards not too far from beaver creek which is convenient beaver creek doesn't have a ton of breakfast options compared to other ski towns. We had the egg sandwich and hash and a donut and the London fog. The egg sandwich had toasted bread which is a must and they did it without asking. The mayo with the eggs and cheese was great and the eggs were cooked perfectly. They were runny but not too runny and didn't make the whole sandwich messy. The potato cubes were so delicious and I wanted a million of them. The hash was super gourmet and the beef was so tender and flavorful and was absolutely amazing. The addition of the seasonal veggies was also good. The donut was interesting and the person at the counter didn't know the donut flavors but we went with this white vanilla looking donut with sprinkles. The glaze was not vanilla and kinda tasted a bit strange especially not knowing what it was. Maybe the glaze was made with a vegan milk it kind of tasted different. The donut itself was great and the pastry counter looked amazing. Not a huge fan of earl grey tea but their London fog was amazing. Not too sweet and I don't know what they did but it was great. Overall would recommend especially if you're looking for a nicer breakfast. Service was pretty quick although there was a growing line as we were eating. The store is super clean and has great decor.

Sommer S.

Yelp
We always stop here on our way through and the food is always delicious. Great place to eat and enjoy some sunshine by a fountain! Employees are nice and helpful too!

Robert D.

Yelp
Could the owners please put people on their POS ( aka cash register) who are either not idiots, trained or at least pay attention to what the Order is and get it right. The Clown at the counter today at 1:15 made 3 errors on my Order. Unfortunately, I didn't catch one until I was home. Businesses, even those as successful as H&H, need to pay attention to the details. Put this guy kitchen cleaning and keep him away from the counter and customers!

Yelp
This place is amazing. The everything on the menu is made with extremely fresh ingredients and the flavor profile is just I've been getting the Skadi with a side of eggs or bacon and while it's small in portion, it fills ya up pretty solid. The sourdough bread is nice and crispy around the edges, the avocado and beets are the perfect ripeness and the sauce they use is heavenly. I try to stop by this place when I am passing through Edward. Little restaurant right off of I-70 W with amazing service. It's a win!
google avatar

Tiffany N.

Yelp
I stopped here for breakfast coming back from Moab and the things that stick out the most about this place are: 1) It's boujie. I was the only female not wearing Lululemon 2) Holy selection of pastries batman, sweet and savory!! 3) They have potato cubes vs tots. Having this has changed my life and I may never be the same. 4) Even though I felt out of place (see #1), I would come back here in a heartbeat!

Wang J.

Yelp
My daughter find a cafe Great for town. I suppressed fish tacos!!! I never had. Great taste and not fry fish!!! Was amazing!
google avatar

Zoe O.

Yelp
I love the atmosphere at Hovey--It is a bit loud if you're looking for a quiet place to work. The service is always good and Chandler is the sweetest. They always have a large assortment of pastries that I love, and the sourdough bread is amazing, but the meals are way overpriced in my opinion. ($20 for a breakfast sandwich...) Go for the cute atmosphere and the pastries.

Catie S.

Yelp
The breakfast burrito is AMAZING even the sour cream tasted fresher then ever! I love this place and the music choice. It can get super busy and long so it's def an energy filled breakfast stop compared to a quiet breakfast nook. If I were to give any suggestions their coffee could use some kick just very light .
google avatar

Kristen L.

Yelp
Everything about this place is a classic hipster brunch environment. They have great signature coffee, delicious pastries, grab-n-go meals, fresh brunch cooked to order, and plenty of local 6-packs on sale. It is a bit pricey ($20-30 with food and drink), but the quality of the food and the chill casual environment are worth it. Would absolutely come by again with friends for more brunch and coffee.

Lindsay H.

Yelp
One of the best spots in the valley for undeniable delicious food. Even a basic breakfast sandwich is deeply flavorful and yummy. But please please please bring back the Quinoa Tuna bowl. It was absolutely the best dish in the valley. By far.
google avatar

Yelp
Love this place!! I've been wanting to come here every time I visit the area and finally did. The cookies are some of the best I've ever had. The ambiance is lovely. The sourdough is killer. The menu looks incredible, there's food to-go, and the bakery box is to live for! A quaint and delicious spot!

Sarah S.

Yelp
So filling. Great quality food. Server recommended getting the burrito smothered on the side and I'm so glad that i did. iced caramel latte which was also delicious.
google avatar

Ilana S.

Yelp
This was such a gem of a find on our trip to the mountains. The whole vibe here is so great. The pastries are vast and delicious, but note that they may change daily! We went one day and there were cupcakes, and went back the next day and the cupcakes were replaced with a different treat (but, they were able to grab me a cupcake from the back!!) the customer service is obviously top notch. We loved everything about this spot and will definitely be back.
google avatar

Matt R.

Yelp
Awesome inventive baked goods, nice atmosphere. I get baked goods for clients here, and they love them. The cheese and chive biscuits are amazing.
google avatar

Mary Grace S.

Yelp
Best coffee, breakfast, and pastries in the area! Tried the sprinkle brownie and the salted chocolate chip cookie and they were both incredible. Wish I had that brownie recipe.....also had the iced dirty chai which was great. We also tried the daily special- gazpacho- which was possibly the best gazpacho I've ever had! Such a fun vibe - very crowded when we went on a Sunday at around noon, but the line to order at the counter moves pretty fast. Love that they have a full bar and a great wine selection, both for drinking there or taking to go! I grabbed a rosé for $22 (bottle) to bring home that I loved! Highly highly recommend this place!

Yelp
This is our go-to restaurant when we travel to Grand Junction to see my parents or in this instance let them half way. The seating outside is great, and the food always exceeds our expectations, and the staff friendly. The real joy for us is picking out what pastry we will share at the ends of our meal. My husband and I shared the French Dip and it isn't your usual French Dip. The meat is piled high, the sauce and aus jus add to the sandwich rather than cover up the flavors. The baguette it's served on is perfection. My daughter and mom shared the Mortadella sandwich and the serving was plenty for both. The flavors balanced and the serving of mortadella plentiful. My dad had the breakfast burrito and while I didn't taste this one, he said it was very tasty and left nothing on his plate. For the sweet treat we chose the Monkey Bread and found it fresh, full of cinnamon with icing that was spot on without the whole thing being so gooey and sweet you couldn't enjoy the other flavors. We will continue going here on our way to visit family or any other time we travel through Edwards.
google avatar

Yelp
Yummy!!!! Yummy!!!! Yummy!!!! Salted sourdough bread was absolutely delicious! Bought a loaf and had it sliced. Smeared it with a little of their creamy butter, which they have out for you as a self serve, so it's super soft and yummy. (For those of you germ people they are in individual serving size plastic cups. ) Also tried the hand pies and the lemon loaf... super delicious! Strawberry hand pie had the best crust, not to hard so perfect for that yummy pie bite with just the right amount of filling. It wasn't too sweet, but just enough to go back for another bite. The lemon loaf....now that's a different story. It was covered in sticky and sweet frosting. The kind you lick your fingers after each bite. Perfect to slice with a knife but just not as much fun. They also offered a lot of grab and go items which made it a good place for everyone. Sandwich looked great. Coffee smelled good. Great find!!!!
google avatar

Erin M.

Yelp
What a cute place! The staff is wonderful and food is delish! definitely a spot to swing by when in town!

Yelp
Just Fantastic!!! Baked goods all delicious and yummy lunch soups and sandwiches...workers are helpful and friendly, really make this stop on every trip to Denver'

Yelp
Amazing food and coffee. We had the egg sandwich, biscuits, egg and gravy and the Ole Morty, all were exceptional! Didn't have any of the sweet breads or muffins but they looked yummy as well. Loved it!
google avatar

Yelp
Pleasant atmosphere frequented by locals. glass front wall allows for beautiful view. Lots of pastry options along with hot breakfast options as well. Sourdough loafs made fresh daily. Hot coffee choices. Beignets are divine! Expect a line. Oh, there is Alcohol too. Totally worth it.
google avatar

Kelsey R.

Yelp
Nice coffee shop and cafe with a special, innovative menu. This is a really awesome space that has been curated. Definitely a more ~luxurious~ cafe experience than I'm accustomed to in Pennsylvania. Coffee was decent. My friends and I tried an array of baked goods and liked everything! Be prepared to wait a while for your order.
google avatar

Teri C.

Yelp
My husband got the egg and avocado sandwich and I got the yogurt, fruit and granola bowl. Hubs liked his sandwich very much. Said it had great flavor. I got the yogurt bowl and although I didn't care for it, it was fresh local ingredients. A little warning in how thick the Greek yogurt is would have helped me make a better decision I guess, but if could have also asked questions. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, super fresh ingredients. While I wouldn't order the yogurt bowl again, I would go back.

L E.

Yelp
We came here for brunch and everything was really good. Their pastries looked amazing but we didn't get to try them. Had the matcha latte which was also good. Highly recommend.

Yelp
What. A. Cute. Place. I really dig Hovey & Harrison and prefer it to the breakfast places I've been to in Vail--it's worth the extra drive to Edwards! Everything's locally sourced, the coffee rocks, the service is truly wonderful, the atmosphere welcoming, bright, and comfortable, and the foooood! I had the granola bowl, which is homemade granola, seasonal fruit (rhubarb--yum!), thick Greek yogurt, and a generous slab of honey comb. Someone in my party had the lox toast and loved it. We ordered some sourdough and jam on the side, and just wow--incredible!!! Now I want to go back and try a bunch of baked goods (like the massive cinnamon bun the kid next to us was eating--it was bigger than his head!).

Reed G.

Yelp
First off they're baked goods are incredible!! It's such a cute space and they employees are always so helpful and kind. It's a bit rivet but the food is totally worth it!!

Yelp
Delish and worth the wait on a soccer tournament Saturday morning! I had their breakfast sandwich and it was wonderful. The service was superb and atmosphere was great.

Yelp
YUM!! Such a fun little coffee shop! Their monkey bread is 10/10 and their coffee is delicious! I make it a point to go back here every time I'm in town!
google avatar

Yelp
This place has it all. Small little market style grab and go in the front with excellent snacks, sandwiches, cocktail mixers and gifts. Then they have a bakery case with everything you would ever want and the best Flowerless chocolate tart! They also have food and coffees!
google avatar

Bryce W.

Yelp
Easily the best joint i've been to in Colorado! So much flavor in the food & the coffee is stellar! Huge selection of market products as well..highly recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
Gave it another chance since good is good. Service still VERY very inefficient and slow!!! Will take baked goods orders before people standing forever to order lunch. Also found it weird they don't have basics like brewed Ice Tea any longer...
google avatar

Yelp
Ok, coffee is great! But the service is even better. I'm vegan and the staff was so understanding, they went above and beyond to accommodate me. Food always tastes better when the energy is good. Finally found an amazing place in Edwards.
google avatar

Lisa C.

Yelp
Perfect cafe, bakery and market. Stopped in for sandwich and had to buy some pastries just because they looked so dang good. Have to say it's a perfect stop in Edwards!
google avatar

Richard D.

Yelp
Good food, good vibe, and overall a Good place to get some work done. This place not only serves a good cup of coffee, but also has pretty much everything to satisfy a hungry stomach. Plus if you're in the market for some good takeaways, this is the place to check out. Maybe next time, I'll try out the bar that they have inside the store?? Show some love to this place whenever you're in the area!
google avatar

Kent M.

Yelp
Wow here. Lots beautiful food options here besides all else. Breakfast Burrito smothered, bacon, carrot cake and ready made coffee. Carrot cake really good. Bacon is wow best. Thick cut and perfect done. Burrito was maybe a 'best of' ever. Really good. Must return.

Yelp
Really hate to love Hovey & Harrison, but I do. It's difficult to tolerate a bakery and coffee shop (yes, they serve delicious salads and sandwiches, too) that makes the decision for me that I shouldn't consume refined sugar or Splenda artificial sweetener. It's not as though those delicious monkey breads and cookies and macarons and muffins are examples of healthy cuisine, and that's exactly my point. Why serve ABSOLUTELY DECADENTLY DELICIOUS baked goods filled to the brim with refined sugar and butter, and decide to put out only sugar in the raw (which as you all know, isn't sweet AT ALL) for your coffee drinking patrons?? I can't help it. I like my coffee sweet. I have a genetic mutation that is only satisfied by sweet coffee. Yes, that means Splenda. No, it doesn't mean Stevia. Why? Because you all know that, just like sugar in the raw, Stevia ain't sweet (enough). On numerous occasions, before I got smart, I walked in and then out of H & H after remembering they don't provide sugar or Splenda with coffee. Then, I finally asked a person behind the counter if, on the DL, she could sneak me a few tspns of sugar from the bakery kitchen an voila, the world's problems all disappeared. I was finally able to have my monkey bread and NOT have to go across the street to Starbucks for coffee and Splenda. So, in the unlikely event anyone in management reads these crazy reviews, please, please, please consider a variety of coffee sweeteners. No one will look down on a bakery that allows its customers to indulge. Love you, H and H.

Grace N.

Yelp
As a local this place is delicious and cute but SO SO EXPENSIVE omfg- they definitely jacked their prices recently...

Sophie M.

Yelp
DELICIOUS. The service was incredible and the seating is beautiful. Great restaurant and prices are well worth for the quality.
