"Shakeups early in a restaurant’s run are not exactly new, when kitchens iron out the kinks in service — maybe swapping out dishes and simplifying processes. But a chef departing three weeks into opening, as happened with executive chef Barnett Harper at Hue, the glitzy Back Bay bar, restaurant and entertainment space? Not usually on the menu." - Nathan Tavares

"But slip in through the other entrance on Exeter Street and patrons will find Hue’s main attraction: the supper club. "A two-story restaurant, bar, and live music venue is shimmying its way into the newly renovated Copley Square Hotel in Back Bay this month. Hue, set to open sometime in December, includes three separate bars and an upstairs restaurant centered around what the team describes as 'American comfort foods with Asian accents,' like chicken wings with a sweet chile sauce and slow-roasted pork ribs coated in a spicy tamarind glaze, according to a rep for the restaurant. There’s also ambitious plans for music in the space, including DJ sets nightly after 9 p.m. and an upcoming calendar of musicians booked to play at the hotel. There’s bottle service, too, but in order to get that allowance approved, it has promised the city’s licensing board that it is definitely, 100 percent not a nightclub, according to a Universal Hub report." - Erika Adams

Had the best time at Hue! The hospitality was unmatched. Every single person I interacted with, from security to the hostess to the servers and waitstaff, was so kind and welcoming. The vibe was beautifully curated: the cocktails, the music, the energy…all of it was on point. I experienced both the speakeasy on Wednesday and Supper Club on Saturday and each brought its own magic. It’s the perfect for both an intimate date night and large groups. Rob, the owner, went above and beyond to host a group of leaders from across the country and made sure every detail was handled with care. Black-owned excellence at its finest. Visiting from Chicago, this truly made my Boston trip whole. Do yourself a favor and check it out, you’ll be happy you did!

Had a great time at Hue Boston! The drinks were top-tier! Especially The Charles, easily one of my new favorites. The staff was super pleasant and made the whole experience feel warm and welcoming. I’m already looking forward to bringing friends from out of town each time, they’re gonna love the vibe and hospitality just as much as I did. Highly recommend!

HUE Boston is always a good time. The vibe is smooth, the music is on point, and the crowd has great energy. Every time I visit, the energy is vibrant and the crowd is diverse. The staff is friendly, attentive, and truly makes you feel at home. Whether you’re out celebrating with friends or just looking for a great time in the city, HUE never disappoints. Definitely one of Boston’s best nightlife spots!

Went on a Saturday night with a friend from out of town and I’m so glad I took her here because she loved it. The food obviously isn’t on the cheaper side, so please be aware that you will be paying $18 for two tacos. But they were still delicious. Drinks were amazing and the music was great. The, I think, manager had come over to ask what kind of shots we liked and brought us complimentary green tea shots for the table which was so kind. We had an amazing time and the service was outstanding. Jesus was a great server. Can’t wait to come back!

I always enjoy my time at Hue! The vibes are immaculate. The food is good. The music is the great. The staff is always very friendly and accommodating. I love how they are switching it up and having watch parties and game nights. It’s definitely a place I recommend all the time! Love it here honestly.

Hue Boston is hands down one of the best spots in the city! From the moment you walk in, the vibe is unmatched — modern, vibrant, and welcoming. The staff is professional and friendly, making sure you feel taken care of all night. The food and drinks are top-tier, and the music keeps the energy going strong. Whether you're there for dinner, cocktails, or a night out with friends, Hue delivers every single time. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a premium experience in Boston!

I had a large group with me from out of town and needed a place to entertain. I called HUE and they made accommodations the same night for a group of 30, even providing signage for way finding. The owners were present, greeted me and my guests and provided a welcoming and fun atmosphere. The music was great, cocktails were great and vibes were immaculate. My guests enjoyed themselves so much that many of them came back the next night! I highly recommend visiting HUE on your next trip to Boston, and if you already live there, make it a staple in your restaurant repertoire!

I am a frequent visitor of Hue but I went a few weeks ago for my girls birthday. Got to experience the private party aspect of this wonderful space. From the drinks to the staff to the food, it was excellent. I would definitely recommend renting out one of their rooms for a party or having a birthday dinner in the main room. At the very least pop out on a Saturday night to see what guest DJ they have in town. it’s one of my favorite places in Boston

Yelp
Hue Boston is a Black-owned speakeasy/supper bar restaura, located in the Copley Square Hotel! They play great music and drinks are good. Their dinner food isn't the best and a bit on the pricier side, but cute brunch spot or if you're looking for a more chill alternative to the clubs. They have their rose bar upstairs on the main floor and downstairs is the supper bar & speakeasy. Very cute ambiance downstairs & all of the staff are very kind. Would come back again ;)

Yelp
Visited from Maryland to celebrate a friend's birthday last night. The restaurant is clean and beautiful and the staff were friendly, specifically the attentive bartenders. The DJ was good as well. However, the food was awful. I had the lamb chops and they were flavorless, they even seemed to lack salt and pepper. The brussel sprouts tasted burnt and lacked flavor as well, aside from the goat cheese which was tasty but still didn't mask the ill tasting brussel sprouts. The best thing we had was the pan seared shrimp. I ended up ordering another to satisfy me after the other disappointing dishes. $430 later, we left with unsatisfied taste buds and later went to another restaurant. I would only recommend visiting this place for drinks and the vibes.

Yelp
My recent visit to The Hue's Supper Club left me with a mixed but overall positive impression of this stylish restaurant on the lower level! The pan-seared shrimp and the fried zucchini were standout dishes to me. The shrimp was cooked really well and well-seasoned. The zucchini was crispy and had a really yummy harissa aioli! We also tried the crispy pork belly but it fell a bit short of expectations, being a little harder to chew and lacking a wow factor. The service at The Hue was great, with the staff being particularly attentive to my nut allergy. The interior design of the Supper Club section was on the darker side, creating a cool bar vibe. It also wasn't too loud in the restaurant, making it easy to have conversation - and making it an ideal spot for a date night! The seating area was a bit chilly, but otherwise, it was a good experience. While we didn't try any drinks on this visit, I'd love to explore the menu the next time I come!

Yelp
This place was not what we expected /: The restaurant was super bright and lacking ambiance and the drinks were 2 sips for 20 dollars and did not taste great. The food was good, but the prices were insane. Adding a few pieces of chicken to a side salad for 12 dollars is just not it.

Chanda R.

Yelp
There is an upstairs and downstairs. I went on a day when they were trialing out brunch. There were a few kinks but the manager did her best to resolve the situation. Hue I'm rooting for you and enjoyed the day party downstairs!

Caroline H.

Yelp
Great vibes! The chicken with brussels sprouts appetizer and five spicy wings were fantastic! There were enough for a light dinner. The mango tango drink is fruity and fun!

Olaedo E.

Yelp
I came here on a Saturday night for a birthday dinner. Inside was really cute and there was a live dj, who even took a few requests! Our waitress was super friendly and attentive. We tried many small plates including the crab Rangoon, the sticky wings, the beef bao, the potstickers, the lemon Caesar and the house fried rice. The beef bao was interesting. It had a smoky undertone, which I appreciated, but was a little salty. The lemon Caesar was really yummy. The hot bean croutons that accompanied it was very tasty. The fried rice was just okay. Collectively, the group didn't like the wings and said they were dry. We sang and danced the night away. It almost felt like we were at the club and not a dinner. Overall, we had a great night out and this place is a vibe. I think I'd skip the food next time though.

Jesan A.

Yelp
Cool, vibey bar with great cocktails. I tried the envy and that was awesome. The spread was solid too, with meats, cheeses, lobster rolls, burgers. Definitely recommend checking this place out for cocktails!

Shana M.

Yelp
To start this restaurant is absolutely beautiful. From the time we stepped in, the service was amazing. The server was so funny and very knowledgeable. The portion sizes of the food were huge. We ordered the short rib, the half chicken and the king salmon entree. For appetizers we had the crispy pork belly. The pork belly with the Apple compote was such an amazing duo. The drinks were equally fantastic.

Yelp
I went there while they were hosting a private event that included poetry night. The food was ok, but I really can't judge because there really wasn't a pescatarian or dairy free option. With that, I made-due with what was available and it was cool. The lighting is low- which Is good for a date night. The service was good. They have a speak easy attached that opened up after the restaurant closed. It was cute, cozy and had good music. I would love to visit and experience a different menu.

Yelp
Great to have an upscale Black-owned restaurant/lounge in the Boston area. Went for my birthday dinner with a friend on a Friday night. Reservations are a must, especially Fri & Sat nights. They were hard to come by. There are three spaces; we were at the Supper Club, which had a bar area and a lounge-y area connected to it. The Rose bar was an entirely separate room with a separate entrance. The spaces are gorgeous. The ambiance was probably my favorite part. Service was attentive and pleasant. The music was a nice touch, and not too loud, which is appreciated. Later on, there was a live saxophonist playing - enjoyed that. The food was slightly on the bland side for my taste, but my friend really liked her duck confit dish. I thought both the half chicken and the duck lacked a bit in flavor. I like a little more kick. But I suspect the food was seasoned to appeal to the paler palates . Was hoping to see more melanin in the room, but maybe it was too early. Looking forward to coming back.

Yelp
I came here last night with my girls for dinner and drinks. At first I went into the main building which leads to the basement floor. It was dim and definitely gave lounge vibes. I was told their lounge is open till 2am. In the lounge area there was also seating and people were being served there. We were seated at the rose bar which doesn't seem to be connected as you have to walk outside, turn the corner, and go in through a different entrance. Upon entry, the restaurant is gorgeous, whoever came up with the design, 10/10. The lighting is perfect, not too dim, not too bright. We started out with the 'nutcase' for cocktails. It's basically their version of a piña colada, and it's not too sweet and not too strong. For entree's, I ordered the lemon caesar, duck fried rice, and the crab rangoon. The crab rangoon was not bad, it was flavorful but paired better with the sauce. The duck fried rice was not good, my friend who also ordered it ended up sending it back. It just tasted like they tried too hard to give it Asian flare and it was just too much. The lemon Caesar was definitely the best thing I ate, the salad was fresh and crisp and simple but good. We also ordered the salt and pepper shrimp and it was way too salty and almost inedible, I was done after two bites. My friend also ordered the wings and said it was salty and dry. She ordered the burger as a replacement and said even that wasn't good. The Riesling spritz face was good and resembled a sangria as my friend put it. Our server was friendly. At some point though, I felt like we were waiting longer than we should have for service and it took way too long for them to clear the plates we were done with from the table. The table is only so big and can't contain much so that was irritating. But overall, we received fair service. After dinner, we went downstairs to see what the lounge was all about. There was a dj playing music and restaurant goers eating, standing, and dancing. I think this place has great vibes and the idea is there. Drinks are pretty good, the lounge is a nice touch, but the food is just too salty. I would come back for vibes and drinks but not the food. We definitely need more places like this in Boston though.

Yelp
We were lucky enough to stop by Hue the other day and I'm so excited to see this place get off to a good start and looking forward to seeing them evolve! The vibe is great. They have the upstairs bar and restaurant off the street , love the aesthetic and design. We actually had a res at the Supper Club downstairs, where they also have their speakeasy. Really sexy experience. We sat by the bar and was impressed how efficient the team was after being opened for only three weeks. You could see some folks were in training, but everyone was on their game, responsive and quick to deliver. In someways I think the experience was a little too fast. The food was good with lots of savory flavor. We had the chilled mushrooms, the shrimp appetizer, charred cauliflower and black fried rice. Overall everything was tasty. I wouldn't say it completely blew me out of the water. It seemed everything was a bit too salty. The only other area for improvement was that I asked for an off menu cocktail a Saketini and I have no idea what I was served. I didn't send it back because it was still pretty tasty but I basically got half of drink served in a martini glass. I couldn't help but wonder if they didn't know how to make it but it was not worth the $18 by any means. I can appreciate a good cocktail And I'd love to see some more creativity and reliability for off menu cocktails.

Brooke C.

Yelp
I sat down in the regular upstairs section for drinks on a Thursday evening. I was able to do walk in without a reservation which was great. My first cocktail was the resting spritz face and it was both delicious and beautiful. The second drink I got was the Charles and it was pretty but it did not taste good. Our waitress was so kind and attentive that I was able to get the drink modified to my preference after tasting it. The interior was very cue inside hue also. I thought it was a bit strange to have a live DJ at 6pm on a Thursday and the music was a bit loud but i still enjoyed hue overall.

Rose Q.

Yelp
It's conveniently located next to the train stations. So it is nice to grab a drink while waiting for the train or waiting for a friend. We had couple of drinks, like two rounds, it was actually pretty quick and tasty. One thing you need to pay attention is that the cocktail price is not in order on the menu. There is a $65 or $75 one in the middle of many $20 items, so pay attention otherwise you'll get surprised by the bill.

Stephon M.

Yelp
Food (5/5) everything was amazing! Chicken wings, fried rice with duck, shishito peppers, shrimp, fries, and pot stickers. Cocktails (3.5/5) a little on the sweeter side on some cocktails but overall really good. Ambiance (4/5) live music was great! Service (3.5/5) it was decent but clearly they were trying to rush us out of the place even though it was empty for a Thursday night.

Tracey S.

Yelp
Of course, HUE is in Boston! Apologies for the typo. It's an oasis in the heart of the city.

Gio B.

Yelp
Went there for late dinner. Love the atmosphere. Drinks were on point. Food: small overpriced portion but good. We had the wings, fried rice, and the pot stickers. There is a lounge on the ground floor I heard - didn't get a chance to visit - so I ll go back just for that.

Ronald H.

Yelp
Came to Hue Boston for a friends birthday! Great service. The food itself, I heard nothing but bad things about it...But honestly, everything was great ! Good music, great food ! And great vibes. We came on a Friday and it packed up quick. Overall I would definitely recommend the sweet plantains, the steak and of course the drinks. They only do Valet parking so I would suggest trying to find street parking (which is close). By the time we got there (10pm) valet was done for the night.

Yelp
I've been waiting a few months for Hue to open and it didn't disappoint! Hue is a new (2 weeks old) Black-owned fine dining restaurant and lounge located in the Back Bay neighborhood of Boston. Note: There are different areas to the restaurant, the first floor is a relatively intimate restaurant with maybe 50 seats to dine and a bar that seats 14 or so people. They have two small TV's which were off, but I believe they will start using in the future. The other area is an underground restaurant/lounge in the and does not connect directly to the upstairs restaurant. You have to go outside and around the corner to get there. The underground lounge has two different areas--both with dining tables and bars. Probably 100+ seats to dine total and the bars are both bigger than one upstairs. The décor downstairs is much nice than upstairs, all and all the entire establishment is trendy. I went on a Saturday night around 8:30pm by myself without a reservation. There were no tables available unless you had a reservation and the bars downstairs had no seats available. I sat at the bar upstairs and was greeted kindly by the host and bartenders. I ordered the Seared Salmon which came with Black rice, Thai Red Curry and Thai Basil. It came kind of quick and was undercooked, they promptly sent it back and all was well. The food was amazing--the salmon was tender, and rice and curry was well seasoned although the portions are not huge. I'd rate the food a 10/10 and it was priced at $30. While I was eating I heard music from the DJ that was playing from the underground lounge so I went downstairs to grab drinks. I believe Thursday through Saturday they're going to have a DJ in the underground lounge. DJ Real P was spinning that night--he's one of the most well respected DJ's in Boston for hip hop, R'N'B. He was playing old school and contemporary rap and rnb and the vibe was on point. There isn't a dance floor and it can get kind of tight so I wouldn't go here if you're looking to dance dance. This is certainly a lounge. The crowd I believe is mostly locals but some tourists too because it's in the Back Bay and connected directly to the Copley Square Hotel. Overall, I'm really happy this spot exists, I'll certainly be returning and I highly recommend!!

Yelp
Updating review after this weekend. I went to the Sunday Brunch/party with some friends to celebrate my graduation. I was surprised and completely disappointed in the service and food. It was not the experience that I had my first time around. For context, we had reservations at the rose bar and arrived late. They were able to accommodate us and work with us. It was pretty slow when we arrived. Our drinks came out fairly quickly. The food, however, was extremely disappointing. There was four of us and two of our orders arrived a full hour later. One arrived almost two hours later and the last order arrived two hours and some change later. At that point, my friend took her food to go. Some of our food came out hot, some of it came out cold. Some of the frustration lied in speaking to countless staff who checked on us but we kept having to wait. There were basic things that should've been taking care of especially for the prices they were charging. I ordered steak and had to ask for a steak knife. We asked for salt and pepper and it was interesting that they weren't in shakers. They were just little things that should've been taking care of as an upscale spot charging upscale prices. I really really want this place to work out but they have to work out their kinks. I mean this wholeheartedly, maybe next time don't offer food for brunch party until the kinks are worked out and the demand can be met. We spoke to the manager and they were able to comp us but I really just wanted to have a good experience as I've had other times. We ended up going downstairs to the day party and it was actually better. Our bartender was the ultimate hype woman. I didn't catch her name but she ended up redeeming the evening! I hope they're able to figure out the kinks and provide a better brunch experience in the future.

Yelp
Hue is a lovely spot on the ground floor and in the basement of the Copley Plaza Hotel. I wanted so badly to love this place, but I have to say I did not. I regularly visit both higher and upper mid tier places in Boston so have a good understanding of a good restaurant. The service was impeccable. I had an incredible server, and there were many friendly bus people around to fill your water and clear your table. Everyone was extremely attentive from the front door all the way down so I have to say for service. It has to be one of the best in the city. The food was good, but I thought overpriced for what you got. I understand this is the city of Boston but $22 for a tiny burger or $18 for a cup and a half of fried rice is a bit much. The food was indeed quite good, but I have had better for lower prices at places like Ruka. For the record we tried the Sea Bass (fine), the fried rice (good), the pork belly (amazing, loved that one), the potstickers (rip off), the burger (good flavor, but small and mostly unremarkable for $22) and the strawberry cheesecake (basic). I went nonalcoholic that night but my friend' had some of the drinks. $22 for a martini. $15 for a Mocktail. Five dollars for a soda water. (Really?) It was all so overpriced even for Boston. I also found the drink that I got - the Nutcase -to have no character whatsoever, although it was pretty. It's like I paid $15 for three sips of pineapple juice with some coconut milk. The liberty hotel charges similar prices but at least you're in an old jail with great decor. This is a fancy basement. The final concern is the decor. This place wants to look really cool and it does have kind of modern sexy vibe like you would see at the (then very good, and very similar) Better Sorts Social Club near the Boston Common. It might be a decent place for a girls night out or to take a date. But other restaurants like Mariel and Lolita, Yvonne's etc. are far better with far better decor, and better lighting. There was no sound attenuation in the space at all with lots of flat reflective surfaces so once the place filled in with people, it was so loud you could barely hear yourself talk. There's a space for a DJ which is nice but no real good sound system that I could hear when he started to play. I don't know if it was too early but no lighting system no good sound system (where's the bass?) I don't see this as a club. I'm not sure what this place is trying to be actually... Is it a proper restaurant? Is it a Lounge? It's worth a visit... But I would not go back.

Padmini D.

Yelp
Very lounge vibe. Hip crowd. Great spot for parties. Food was okay. They could improve on the veg options.

Blair W.

Yelp
What a great Friday night I had here! Loved the support Hue is representing for breast cancer! All staff had on pink bows which I truly appreciate! The food was tasty and the vibe was fun! I will definitely come back again! The hostess Shannon was phenomenal!

Kathy N.

Yelp
Great location, bartender and EDM music. Went with friends and birthday boy! Will be back!

Eunice I.

Yelp
Went here for after dinner drinks this past Saturday with my friends to celebrate for a bachelorette weekend. We mostly went for the speakeasy lounge part which was a vibe. The DJ was on point and we danced the night away. Definitely can't wait to return again for the speakeasy!

Grier F.

Yelp
Overall rating: 2/5 Stars Food: Though the food is unique in my opinion the flavors weren't right. It was either too bland or too salty. We purchased noodles and rice for our mains. For drinks we got a spritz that was floral and citrusy. Texture: Noodles were drenched in oil and did not have much of a spring or bounce to them. Pricing: a bit steep for what you are getting. A small bowl that can barely feed an adult will cost $15-30 Ambiance: gorgeous top floor and basement speakeasy, the basement is dark and intimate meanwhile the top is bright and open. Service: kind waitress but rude hostess Music: RnB and Afro Beats Bathrooms: there are both male and female bathrooms Final comments: beautiful but way too overpriced for what you get

Natalia G.

Yelp
New spot in the heart of Copley that is black owned. Music and ambiance were great in my opinion as Boston has lack of upscale restaurants catering to people of color. Drinks were ok and need some tweaking. Of the drinks we had they all tasted great but were weak. One person in my party had three drinks and barely felt anything. Food also needs a little fixing, but there were definitely some wins. The shrimp appetizer was so good, my favorite of the ones we got. Potstickers were ok, not nasty though. Tasted like it could've been store bought? The bao buns were just ok as well. The bao was a little too dry and the overall taste was just lacking a little for me, but others in my party really liked it so maybe depends on the person. We got the steak frites cooked medium. They came cooked as we ordered, was a size-able portion, and had nice flavor but they were chewy, so points lost there. Service was quick but we got there before it got busy. I agree with some other reviews as they mentioned the restaurant needs to fix the little issues, especially for the prices they are charging. I also had to ask for a steak knife when my entree came instead of just being provided one based on my order, and drinks definitely need to be stronger since they are $18. I have confidence that this place will pull it all together. There's a solid basis so im rooting for them.

Roann A.

Yelp
Love it here! I've been here back to back weekends now! The music, the ambiance, every single time!

Rosemary S.

Yelp
First of all the service was excellent, probably the biggest plus. The hostess went way out of her way to get us a table when we didn't have a reservation. The waitress was also very helpful and attentive. The decor was nice but a little slapdash. It felt a little cheap. Which, for a place where cocktails are between $18-20, I expect more of a luxurious environment. The drinks tasted good but were very week. The new fashioned in particular is clearly supposed to a play on an old fashioned. But unlike an old fashioned it had very little alcohol. The glass was less than half full and with the giant ice cube there was only about five mouthfuls there. Everything we got was overpriced for what it was and the presentation was just alright. Lastly, I had gotten the impression from their socials that there was dancing downstairs. The downstairs was a lot larger than I expected. Again, the thought was there with the decor but the execution wasn't quite there. On a Friday at 11pm there was no dancing or dj. Unless the dj was the person that was just playing ambient music at the normal level you'd expect at a sit down bar? Anyway, there did not appear to be any space to dance and no one was. So if that's what you're looking for that may not be the case even on a weekend night.

Tee L.

Yelp
After being seated and looking at the menu, my group left. It's more of an Asian infusion place, which I don't eat and on a very limited menu. The music seemed nice, but not my vibe. The other issue is the menus weren't consistent. They each had difference prices, therefore, which one will they honor? Kind of weird, and I strongly foresee that being an issue, but happy I took my leave.

Melanie J.

Yelp
Amazing food and service! I came here for my bachelorette and they weee great for having a larger party.

Jessica P.

Yelp
We attended the Hue for my mom's birthday dinner. We went to the lower level Hue dinner space. It's decorated really nice. The space is huge! Everything looks picturesque. You feel like you're in a fancy club. We ordered the seared scallops (ok) , miso Ceasar (very good), braised short rib (ok) , pot stickers (ok), salmon entree (very good), duck confit (good) and salt and schezuan shrimp (ok). The drinks were pretty. I had some lavender gin drink that was phenomenal. Rest of the drinks we tried were just ok for me. I'd definitely go again. Loved the music! We went to the speakeasy section after dinner. Our bartender, Josh was great!

Maggie U.

Yelp
Hue is dope! Amazing spot to get dressed and go out with the girlfriends or a sexy date night. I had a girlfriend date last night and we ordered half the menu! The food was soo good and came out the quick. My favorite dish was the escargot definitive the best thing on the menu, second fav was the bok choy. The only thing I wasn't too fond off was the short rib bao. It was dry and just didn't taste good. Overall super cute spot and recommend for a Friday night

Ashley G.

Yelp
I definitely recommend this restaurant. There were some hits and misses, but overall it was good. The Szechuan rock pepper shrimp was the best thing we ordered 10/10. We also got the steak Frites in which flavor was very good, but it was a bit chewy for a medium steak. The drinks were flavored well, but not very strong in terms of alcohol content. The music and atmosphere however, were both amazing.

Carla J.

Yelp
I went to Hue's speakeasy on my husbands birthday trip to Boston. Making reservations was very easy, and we were greeted very kindly by staff at the door. The speakeasy section was cozy and secluded which I liked. Service was very quick and our waiter was so kind and professional. At about 11, they started letting people from the other room come into the speakeasy section which was absolutely fine. Music was excellent and I didn't feel rushed out of my seat. I ordered the fried pork belly, wings, and half chicken which was so delicious. My husband had the duck with an excellent potato salad. I would definitely recommend Hue!

Yelp
We were upstairs in the Hue restaurant Food was very salty, arrived cold and not tasty Not much for vegetarians, and the one veggie entry was not available Service was terrible. One hour before we got our food and messed up our order and brought the wrong item Ambiance was very Noisy Expensive, not worth the cost

Yelp
They charge extra for an ice cube in your cocktail. I'm not joking. I can't post this without more characters. Done.

Yelp
Like many others I was excited about HUE with it being one of the few black owned lounges in Boston. Being and avid foodie and working as an event manger, I always make it a point to check out the new places and gauge my own option. I went on a Saturday night with a reservation for 9:15. Upon arrival I checked in with the host who informed me our table would be ready shortly and I could wait at the bar. Fast forward 40 mins later I went back to check only to see that there were several tables vacant and the host has gotten side tracked and forgot about us. This part was less than ideal. We ordered the salmon, sticky wings and fried rice. All items are good but by no means blew my mind away. There are also other floors however take note that during busy times they will not let you downstairs without a reservation. This was unfortunate as when I made the reservation they had said we can eat upstairs and then check out the other spaces. Overall the ambiance is nice and it does seem like it will do well in its location. While it is black owned I wouldn't quite categorize it as a "go to" black locals spot considering the location and primary audience it is geared towards. Hopefully in the coming weeks they get a better system in place for managing the crowds so that people can be able to get the full experience regardless of the time and move freely between all floors. I would also like to see a bit more diversity with the menu. Menu has much more of an Asian flair which isn't bad but a nice Afro-Asian diaspora fusion would be nice and give this spot an upper hand against all the other similar menus in the area. Overall location is great especially for tourist, food is subpar and ambiance is nice. It wouldn't quite be on the top of my list to come back but again I definitely suggest folks go and gauge your own opinion.

Yelp
Ambiance & Service are two things close to my heart, I really enjoy my visits to Hue. The staff & overall establishment is great. Recommend this for dates, informal gatherings, formal get togethers. Management Extremly flexible & accommodating.

Yelp
Pretty atmosphere. I got the DND drink which was very good. They automatically charged 20% gratuity so don't be shocked when the bill comes. Did not order food bc I didn't care for the options and the ratings were already kinda poor. Might come back to see how hype the place gets on Sundays, it was dry when I came.

Yelp
Food was ok. Not so many options for vegans or vegetarians. The service was good. The vibe was great.

Yelp
The Hue is a hot space in a hotel in Boston with a five star staff. Carmela is an amazing event planner who keeps you informed, thinks of everything, and creates the perfect party space with some of the best food in town. She knows how to run this venue and provide the exact experience you need. She staffed our party with mixologists Carla and Josh. Two of the fastest, kindest bartenders I've ever seen. Everyone who works here is on top of service, upbeat, and helpful. I highly recommend renting out space or planning a party here. The speakeasy is one of the best run, intimate, event spaces I've ever experienced.

Yelp
This is actually two locations - a reservation-only speakeasy downstairs with music, karaoke, poetry, etc. and a restaurant upstairs. The restaurant is very loud due to echo but if you eat outside it's not bad. Young, college-age crowd and a few professionals. Located on corner of Copley Square Hotel. The hostess told us there would be a wait although there were about nine empty tables. She sat us quickly after cleaning a table. She sent a few people away, maybe because they wanted the fully-booked speakeasy. There seemed to be too few servers. We went at 8:30 pm on Saturday 5/13 and it seemed like a second wave was coming in at 9:00 pm, so it may be a late crowd normally. Friendly, helpful greeter/maitre de and server. Ordered small plates - tempura vegetables, potstickers, and fried rice without the duck. All pretty good, a bit salty. Decent drinks.

Yelp
Aesthetics were beautifully curated. Menu items provided a variety of options (food was phenom!) and service exceeded my expectations.

Yelp
We're always excited to try a new place, and from the photos I had seen beforehand, we expected so much. While they clearly spent alot of time and thought putting the place together, it just didn't work for us. Firstoff, felt like we were in a basement, and Yes, I knew this beforehand, but still didn't care for it. The menu was unique and expensive to say the least. We could not find anything to choose since the choices were so bizarre, and to boot the service was awful. Clearly startup issues which I am sure will be worked out eventually. There were no really great food choices, and what they had were tiny and overpriced. Lastly, the place was empty, and it took us 25 minutes to get a drink. We left after that and went elsewhere for dinner.

Yelp
Space is gorgeous and the food is soooooooo good. I had the steak and eggs that came with these garlic potatoes and the pairing together was everything.
