The 13 Best Coffee Shops In Nashville - Nashville - The Infatuation

"At Humphreys Street, the space is bright, and the seating is so soft that it’s easy to completely lose track of the day. The back patio looks like something straight out of the Hamptons, so you can sip your Sunny Hunny (a honey, almond, and cardamom iced coffee) in peace and pretend you’re on vacation. The flat whites, ground from their very own espresso beans, are particularly good with lovely notes of citrus and grass. Check out the little shop corner before you leave—each bag of coffee or bar of soap gives money to programs for teens in under-resourced communities." - ann walczak

Hidden Gem with Heart and Great Lattes Humphreys Street Coffee is one of those places that just feels right the moment you walk in. The space is beautiful — warm, inviting, and filled with natural light, plants, and local art. The Frida Kahlo portrait paired with all the greenery sets a calm, creative vibe that makes you want to stay awhile. We ordered a couple of lattes, and not only were they beautifully poured with perfect latte art, but the espresso was smooth and balanced. You can tell the baristas care about what they’re serving — and they were super friendly too. It’s more than just a coffee shop — it’s a community-driven space with purpose, and it shows in every detail. Whether you’re a local or just passing through Nashville, make the stop. You won’t regret it.

Google
Very nice place for coffee. Relaxed vibe with seasonal flavors. Service is fast and friendly. Largest cold coffee is 16oz for $7. It is a tad pricey. On street parking was easy to find.

100% must try their espresso here. They roast their own beans and they know what they are doing. If you make coffee at home get a bag of their beans and make yourself a cup. Thank you from your friends at ETSC!!

Google
So far, this is my favorite coffee shop I’ve been to in the Nashville area. Extremely friendly, kind, and quick service. The music is at volume you can work without being distracted— they also aren’t playing awkward, somber songs or an hour marathon of Justin Bieber. The large windows fill the room with a lot of natural light. They have a variety of tables, seating options, and plenty of floor space. The sturdy, wooden chairs on the hardwood floor don’t make loud noises like the stereotypical coffee shops with concrete floors and metal chairs. Highly recommend them.

Google
I needed a coffee in between some meetings and my brother suggested this one. I love the setting in a church! I like how they repurposed the space and worked with the original confines. It's so beautiful, modern, and clean! I had a cortado while I waited for a latté. The beans were beautifully roasted. And, the drinks were both at the perfect temp!

Superb espresso! Decadent Almond Croissants. Chill atmosphere. Friendly Staff.

Google
An unexpected gem of a coffee house, right outside of Downtown Nashville!!! It's a converted Church that has soul converting coffee!!! David was wonderful and hilarious and Caleb was an incredible barista and artist. The atmosphere is chill AF. A great little place to sit back and reflect as you sip your favourite coffee drink. There was a nice patio as well, but the rain kept us from it. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT!!!

Google
Comfortable space to hang out with good lighting and great ambiance. Nitro is excellent, lattes are really good, croissants and toasts are also very good. This used to be a church and they've incorporated some of the elements in the decor to honor the original charm. Outdoor porch is also spacious and comfortable.

Yelp
Such a cute little coffe shop! It's located in the neighborhood so it's away from the city. Drive from coffee shop to downtown is 10 min. Parking can be found on the side of the street Food: - I got the iced vanilla latte, can't really mess that up haha - bread with butter

Yelp
With all the various coffee shops in Nashville, Humphreys Street, was on the list to try. The staff here is super friendly and accommodating. It's very spacious inside and outside and an ideal spot for a coffee date or study sesh. My only complaint is the matcha. I'm not a coffee drinker, so majority of the coffee shops I visit I'm going for a matcha. The matcha I had here didn't seem to have much matcha in it at all and lacked flavor tremendously. It was watered down, very little strawberry flavoring that was requested, and too much oat milk. I would definitely come back for the overall vibe, amount of seating, indoor and outdoor spaces, and the great staff. If you're in the area, stop by.

Yelp
Humphreys Street is quickly becoming one of my favorite Nashville coffee shops. Stepping into Humphreys is like a warm, welcoming hug ... especially when other local coffee shops are more concerned with being trendy than being comfortable. The folks behind the counter greet you like you're a longtime friend, and every coffee drink I've ordered has been made well. I occasionally indulge in a Cortado when I know it's going to be made well, and the baristas at Humphreys have yet to let me down. While the shop can get busy, there's plenty of seating inside and out for groups of all sizes. I also appreciate the easy and thoughtful access to outlets, as this is a popular spot to work remotely. A big part of why Humphreys stands out is because of its mission! If you're not in the know, definitely check out their website and learn more. All of their profits support teens in under-served areas. So you can enjoy good coffee and feel good about what your dollars are going toward!

Yelp
Cozy coffee shop! Plenty of seating inside and outside. Great spot to get work done. I ordered the iced French toast latte. Tasted a little watered down for my liking. Not from the area and parking is confusing. There's plenty parking lots available but you have to pay.

Yelp
Friends and I stopped in for coffee and a snack. The coffee was good. I had a quiche-croissant thingy, which was good. It was on the expensive side for me. The space was nice. There was indoor and outdoor space. A variety of seating. This is a good work spot. Lots of people with laptops working by themselves or in groups. The service was friendly, but it took some time to get our food.

Yelp
Delicious coffee that supports a great cause! Nestled in the north WeHo neighborhood, this quaint little house turned coffee shop serves some delicious Java. I stopped in on a Sunday morning and tried one of their seasonal drinks, the Cowboy Christmas, and was delicious. The price is a tad steep for the 8-10oz latte you get, but a lot of the proceeds help local youth programs. If I'm going to spend a $7 on a latte, I'd want it to be at a shop that supports its community. If you're looking for a place to read or work, this would also be wonderful. Lots of indoor seating and even more outdoor when the weather is nice. Make the trip to Humphrey's Street, it's worth it!

Yelp
Love the coffee and story behind this gem of a spot. Always brings a smile when I stop on for a pour over or a cold brew. i personally love the Dudley sandwich and that they rotate the pour over options. If you are in the area be sure to stop in to see this great coffee spot,

Yelp
As a coffee-loving college student in Nashville, I am always on the prowl for a new cafe to pop into. Humphrey Street just shot all the way up my list. Ambience is everything when it comes to the perfect coffee shop experience, and HSC is brimming with it. More like a home or a church than a store, the shop basks in natural night from it's many windows, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Upon my first glance at the menu, I was tempted to order my favorite espresso drink, a cuban. While I'll certainly be back to try that old reliable treat... I went out on a limb & chose something NEW, an espresso tonic! It's a game changer. Citrusy, robust, bitter, and zippy, it'll certainly be my drink of choice for the Spring.

Yelp
It's a cute little coffee shop - I met a friend for a coffee date, and the place was packed! There was plenty of seating, and the coffee was great. Plenty of seating and the coffee was great. Parking is tricky. Parking tip: Avoid the Park Happy lot, which is straight across from the shop. Park Happy is brutal and will rip you off even if you are 5 minutes over time. They offer no time extension options. Head down a little past the shop for better parking options.

Yelp
This place has a great atmosphere and delicious teas. However, on my most recent visit, I was gonna order one of their biscuits, but they were out of these. So then I asked for a slice of their quiche. They were out of this as well. Finally, I asked for their seasonal toast, and they said they were out of bread. The person taking my order wasn't particularly apologetic for having none of the 3 breakfast items I had wanted to order. Disappointed, I ended up leaving and heading to a different coffee shop. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time they've been out of stuff of their menu when I've tried to place an order. Not ideal, especially for their location.

Yelp
Another place I was excited to check off my list. This one was close to home so it was easy to visit. The barista was kind and patient with us as it was our first time. There is a lot of open seating and couches indoors as well as an outdoor patio area for nicer weather. The coffee was okay but the vegan pastry was good though. All in all, this is a decent spot but not amazing.

Yelp
#fatjared say...HIDDEN GEM. Absolutely amazing coffee with such a cool story and a great purpose. PERFECT experience. When I review I have VERY strict guidelines. The only way you get 5 stars from me is if the experience is perfect. 5 stars on yelp is the best you can get, so that means perfection. Humphreys Street did that and more. The space is so wide open, and fun fact used to be a church. They employ people who are trying to get back on their feet, and have their own roasting because it teaches them a trade and gives them work. The coffee is SO TASTY. They have both cold brew and nitro, and the 2 options are 3 different blends. They get coffee from all over, but put their own unique roast and flavor to it. The cold brew was not too strong, but you can taste the notes that it had in it, and with such a smooth flow and chocolate finish I about bounced off the walls I drank it so fast. The staff is nice, the coffee is good, and it's open/quiet so you can sit and talk if you want. Nothing to complain about here. Perfect time and such a tasty brew! 5 stars all the way!!

Yelp
Coffee was good and the location was pleasant to do work in. Only issue was that it was hard to find seating when we came around lunchtime.

Yelp
The most aesthetic, wonderful coffee shop you can imagine. This former church has been converted into a casual coffee shop that serves up excellent coffee and light food options. Plus it benefits charity so you are helping the community while you sip and savor. The space is bright, airy, and relaxed with couches, tables and bench options galore. Their wifi is excellent. Everything feels clean and safe. I worked from here all day and it was a great spot. I'd definitely recommend. Beware though that since the floods are wood and it's essentially all one room, it can get noisy during peak hours. I had the avocado toast and their special seasonal ricotta toast with fruit. Both were awesome and complemented my incredible lavendar latte. I didn't drive here but I think there is a large parking lot adjacent to the space.

Yelp
Delicious coffee. I got the Cuban latte and loved it. Bought some beans to take home too. Cute space, friendly employees (they all looked like teenagers but were more professional than a lot of adults I've encountered). Parking, like all places in Nashville, is a nightmare.
google avatar

Caitlin R.

Yelp
Cool spot to get some work done or just a meet up. Parking is along the street so that's the only issue if you can't find any. I tried the cold brew, loved the glass and the design of the building. Friendly baristas and great value!
google avatar

Stephanie Y.

Yelp
Nice spot to grab a quick coffee or meet up with someone. Large airy space with lots of small tables/chairs. Their service can be a hit or miss on the weekend when they're busy. I saw a lot of people coming up to request an missing item and I waited about 40 mins for my tea. I could have gone up and asked but I wasn't in a rush. Small case in the front with a couple of baked goods and also a small food menu available.
google avatar

Alyssa M.

Yelp
The only good thing about this place was the fact they have tons of seating inside and outside. The staff was not very friendly at all, there was no real menu anywhere to even know what they have to offer, and the cold brew I did decide on was not tasty at ALL. I will not be returning here, I was just in the area and needed a Monday pick me up. I should have just saved the money and not gotten anything to drink.
google avatar

Michele M.

Yelp
Some of the best coffee I've ever had. I'm picky about my coffee too. Very cute quaint place. Inside and outside seating. I also got the natural toast which had this honey and I can't even tell you that it was so delicious. Tasted way different than anything else. If I lived here I'd be coming back

Yelp
Absolute neighborhood gem of a coffee shop! Nice peaceful vibe with welcoming employees. R and I came here at around lunch time on a weekday in late November. We wanted to explore the area near the hotel, and just wanted to snack on something since we had just eaten an early huge AYCE lunch about an hour earlier. Street parking was free and easy to find. It looks like this used to be a house but was converted into a coffee shop. As we entered this business, the shiny dark wood floor caught my eye, since I love wood floors, and I also noticed that what I thought was going to be a small coffee shop was actually spacious inside, so customers can easily social distance. Various types of seating are used here, from wooden tables and chairs to a long wooden table with what I'm guessing to be a repurposed church pew to sit on, to a loveseat and lounge chairs at a low coffee table for people to have conversations at. There is an outside deck with tables and chairs for customers to enjoy the sunshine and fresh air during times of nice weather. There was a short line ahead of us at the order counter, but the employees kept the line moving quickly with their efficiency. The menu don't have a lot of items on it, but everything looked great and were described deliciously. Besides the various coffees and teas, a gourmet croissant sandwich and various types of toasts and toppings were available and were made to order. I ordered an Earl Grey Classic tea, R ordered a latte, and we told the employee that we were going to share 1 slice each of the following toasts: The Classic (smashed avocado, crumbled feta, lime and pepitas on spent grains) and The Natural (banana, almond butter, coconut flakes, chia seeds and cinnamon on pain siliciano). She told us to sit anywhere and our orders will be brought to us. It didn't even take 5 minutes of waiting before our drinks were served, nice and hot, and both presented well. A tea bag was steeping in a little glass pitcher, and the latte had poured hearts floating on the top. After another 5 minutes, our toasts were served. The employee at the actually was listening when we told her that we were going to share the toasts, because she had noted it on the instructions, so what we got were two separate plates with half of each slice of toast on them. Wow! Great service, and we weren't charged extra, either. I loved the flavors and the textures of the toasts. I loved that the slices of toasts were crunchy, and that I could taste every ingredient on them. I was surprised that everything on each slice came together and tasted amazing. I highly recommend visiting Humphreys Street Coffee Shop!

Yelp
I came here with my hubby and every time we come in the credit card machines are down. We finally came back and grabbed two special lattes. Both were overpriced at $7 each and it was water down coffee that doesn't taste good. The place is overhyped. I rather go to Honest coffee.
google avatar

Jennifer C.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem for sure. It looks like a renovated house that they converted to a coffee shop. A very open space with lots of seating inside and outside. I got a drip coffee and others in my group got the french toast latte (half sweet). The drip coffee was good! Didn't need any milk or sugar. The french toast latte was made with homemade vanilla syrup and a couple dashes of cinnamon whisked together and topped with milk. Even though it was half sweet the flavor was still there and it was delicious. Sometimes if you ask for things less sweet you feel like you can't taste anything.
google avatar

Nate M.

Yelp
Killer cold brew and a great vibe. Humphrey's is located inside an old church(?) and is spacious, well lit and a great spot for meetings or getting some work done. It does get a little noisy in here so don't plan on taking any phone meetings. I found a cozy spot near the window and got to work on my laptop. The cold brew here is phenomInal! Great flavor, mellow, and didn't get me all jittery... I had two full glasses! Their slow drip coffee machine is in the corner near the door and is a thing of beauty! I belief this is used for iced coffee. This is an NPO coffee house and offers not only a place to work, but some amazing job skill opportunities for the community. The kids who work here learn not only about coffee, but also the passion behind it. They also make their own soap, crazy right?! Spend your coffee money here for a few good karma vibes and a nice little pick-me-up!
google avatar

Grace A.

Yelp
Came a little out of our way to try out this spot. We were not disappointed. I ordered the rosemary latte with oat milk and my husband ordered a vanilla latte with macadamia milk. Mine was perfectly sweetened (not too sweet at all), with a hint of rosemary. The oat milk was wonderfully frothy. I loved it, it was everything i wanted it to be.I tasted my husband's latte as well, also not too sweet and very light. A perfect start to our day. The staff was super friendly too.
google avatar

Tyler F.

Yelp
Cute little spot with a grass roots feel and solid coffee. The inside is a bit sparse but there is plenty of seating if you need to work or study. I will recommend you bring headphones though since the interior has a very pronounced echo which may be distracting. We ordered an americano and an oat milk latté and both were par for the course compared to other Nashville coffee spots. There is a selection of "toasts" such as your standard avocado and a few other varieties. These were tasty but the bread wasn't toasted which is a bit misleading right? They to have a deal on toasts as well, one for $5 or two for $8. They also sell their own beans, cold brew and soap which looked nice. Couple small tweaks and this could be a 4 star place easily.
google avatar

Steve B.

Yelp
What a disaster of a place - whoever the owner is get a hold of your place!!! How can you be out of Croissants on a Saturday morning ?? Waiting 20 minutes for a simple tea order - Again whoever owns this place doesn't care - it's a-shame because what we did eat was very good but the customer experience was atrocious- do better & care
google avatar

Elizabeth B.

Yelp
Latte's were too milky, idk if it was the person making it or if they don't have strong enough espresso/sweet enough syrup. May give it another shot. We were sad to have spent $7 each for essentially a lightly sweet milk.
google avatar

Callie H.

Yelp
Every time I come here I've had to wait 30min for my coffee and just want a refund by the time my drink is called. There's only two people staffed to take orders and make drinks... the workers CLEARLY need more help to maintain any decent type of customer experience. DO BETTER
google avatar

Christina C.

Yelp
Ok I'll be honest but I haven't actually ordered coffee or food here... I come for their hand soap refills and the cinnamon and clove one smells AMAZING. (The cherry almond one is nice, but reminds me a bit more of fruity medicine.. hm...). Yes, they're a bit expensive, but they last for me and I only buy refills these days.
google avatar

Erin M.

Yelp
Bright, airy, close to my business! This place is beautiful outside + even more gorgeous inside. Love their iced coffee + an almond croissant is my weakness. Thanks, Humphrey's!
google avatar

Sean G.

Yelp
Lovely coffee shop! Great coffee and matcha - loved their local half cold brew and half iced tea drink! Delicious breakfast croissant sandwich! Def recommend if in the area!

McKenna R.

Yelp
Love coffee but never get iced drinks. Nashville heat was hitting me and the barista DeAndre suggested the Iced Molasses Skarato. It was delicious! Also ordered the Ham & Cheese Pastry, very yummy. The cafe is cute, loved the green couch!
google avatar

Shane S.

Yelp
I am disappointed that I waited so long to visit this place. The space is great and spacious with outdoor seating. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the coffee is fantastic. Such a great place to sit and enjoy coffee and a treat. Definitely in my regular rotation now.
google avatar

Mike Z.

Yelp
I love the vibe of this place. It feels like an escape outside of the city where you feel like you're in a small mountain side city and has this rustic home vibe where they make their own goods as well, which they do. They make a solid espresso but also the varieties of coffee and pastries are good as well. It's bright and plenty of indoor/outdoor seating. I like that since it's on a hillside, they have an upper and lower deck to sit outside. Their open plan inside makes it feel grand as well. If you're in the WeHo area and want a moment to slow down your day or do some work, grab a cup of coffee and enjoy. They also have nice cup ware as well.
google avatar

Ellen O.

Yelp
Humphreys Street has been so great to visit during this time! Their walk up window makes everything so easy. The baristas are always friendly and the drinks are consistently great! My favorite is the iced chai latte.
google avatar

Hannah R.

Yelp
Humphreys Street Coffee Shop is absolutely precious! I loved it! Visually pleasing, well decorated. Calming environment. Loud enough to have a conversation but also a good volume to sit and read. The outdoor area was also very nice! I'd love to go back and spend more time here! I just parked on the street down a little bit. Not a far walk! Loved it here! The French toast latte was good!
google avatar

Bonnie G.

Yelp
Yummy seasonal coffee drinks and such a bright, lofty atmosphere with lots of outdoor seating. Reminds me of the cafes in Seattle. The French toast latte with cold brew was great and while none of it blows me away, it's certainly a great spot to hangout with a friend or work in.
google avatar

Steph G.

Yelp
Nice little coffee shop in the neighborhood. Friendly staff, tasty cold brew and assorted pastries on display. Opted for a cold brew with lavender- very refreshing and nice flavor. Spacious area conducive to work, AC on full blast for these steamy summers, clean bathroom. Would definitely return for more beverages or to try a snack.
google avatar

Erin H.

Yelp
The coffee, chocolate croissant, and cheese danish (not pictured) were all delicious. I believe the pastries are from Village Bakery and Provisions. Excellent coffee mug and the service was delightful. It's located in a beautiful, sunny space. We arrived early on a Saturday morning and parking was easy.
google avatar

Nicolette T.

Yelp
I love everything about this coffee shop. The menu, the atmosphere, and most important the mission. It feels good to support a company that is truly supporting the local community in big ways. This is a great place to grab a cup of tea or coffee, study for an upcoming test, or share a quiet space with friends. There is a great outdoor balcony and green space below to enjoy the good weather! We need more businesses like this in Nashville!

Lauren S.

Yelp
Great coffee place! Super cute inside. I got a cold brew with cream and it tasted great. It has a unique flavor already. Would come back!
google avatar

Dominique R.

Yelp
Adorable little coffee shop with a great vibe and back patio. The iced Bowie was perfect!
google avatar

Kelli K.

Yelp
This place is adorable, welcoming, bright, cozy, and full of energetic hard workers. People come here to get work done, enjoy a cup of coffee/tea, and have good conversation. It's relaxing and calm with lots of natural light. There's an outdoor deck if you want to hang outside and a patio below with picnic tables and hammocks if you want to [literally] hang there too. The WiFi works well and is an open network, so you don't have to worry about silly passwords. The employees are great, and their mission is stellar. I selfishly want to keep this place to myself, but I also think Nashville needs to know how wonderful this shop it. I've had both the iced matcha latte and a cold brew- both were great

Malorie A.

Yelp
Great vibes and I had a cup of the lavender tea and it was the best I have ever had. Just enough honey to give it a sweet flavor but it was steeped perfectly. I really enjoyed the open room and different types of seating arrangements and lots of natural light from the large windows. I'll definitely be going back
google avatar

Katie G.

Yelp
This place is just silly good. The coffee is fantastic (regular drip coffee is my go-to, I don't usually do milk-based drinks) and the TOAST is just delicious. We split the Local and the almond butter banana one. Just delicious. The Local has a delectable pesto on it. Combine that with sprouts and a perfectly (and I mean PERFECTLY) poached egg, on the crunchy-yet-chewy toast, and you get a mouth explosion of flavor. The Banana Almond Butter toast is nostalgic. It reminds me of when I was a kid and made PB banana sandwiches (I've since developed an aversion to peanuts, so almond butter is my new go-to). The soaps and other non-food/non-coffee items are wonderful as well. The mandarin cedar wood hand soap is heavenly. There's really no wrong choice when you come here. The staff is comprised of mostly high-school kids, and they are so sweet and helpful. It's such a great place. You won't be disappointed!
google avatar

Shawna H.

Yelp
This place is so cute! They aren't open for indoor seating at this time but they have a nice little station outside where you order and they will bring it out to you. The cold brew is absolutely fantastic and my friends raved about their lattes and avocado toast.
google avatar

Brennan K.

Yelp
This is undoubtedly one of my favorite coffee shops I've ever stepped into. From an adorable Tennessee home setting to a Joanna Gain's style simplistic and naturalistic deco, this spot is nothing short of irresistible. If you need a place to study, work, sit and read a book, THIS IS IT. Trust me. Atmosphere aside, this company knows what they are doing when it comes to coffee. They bottle and sell some of the smoothest cold brew I have ever had. (Warning: after I finished a bottle without eating much I was shaky! I don't drink much caffeine and this stuff gets the job done!) The kind staff will point you in a direction and give good suggestions that are the best for you. Don't miss coming here if you want to step out of a work from home environment or catch up with a friend over a delicious cup of joe.

Yelp
My book club girls and I met at Humphreys Street for our book club meeting and coffees this past weekend. Their mission is wonderful, and I did enjoy my first visit. Coffeeshops with a mission aren't new (there are a few others in town), but I love that this place's mission is local. Humphreys Street employs and trains 16 local teenagers a year. Not only does it provide them employment and training, but it provides these teenagers opportunities to tour colleges, participate in mentorship programs, learn about trade school options, and more. According to their website, 100% of their profits are reinvested into programs to benefit their student employees. This coffeeshop is in a quickly gentrifying Nashville neighborhood (one of many), and it's made its home in a former church. It's nice to know that while your $$$ are going to a business that is helping the community. The space has those high former church ceilings, and it's bright and airy and not cramped. They could probably fit a few more tables and seating options inside, because it was very busy when were there (around 11-1 on a Saturday). It was an interesting mix of students studying and people hanging out. It's definitely been decorated for the Nashville Instagram community, and it definitely has that hipster vibe. I haven't been a student in a few years, and I felt a little old here? Now for the drinks. My friends enjoyed their lattes and flat whites. I was a little confused by my ordering experience. I'm a little traditional when it comes to coffee; I pretty much only order Americanos, cortados, or cappuccinos. Since we were going to be sitting for a while, I ordered a cappuccino (best for savoring, in my opinion). I didn't see it on the menu, but all coffeeshops make cappuccinos, right?, so I ordered it anyway. I was told they don't make cappuccinos, but they could make me a flat white ("pretty much a cappuccino with less foam," they said). I said that was fine, and it was. A very good flat white. But I was confused why they don't/can't make cappuccinos. Isn't the machine to make a cappuccino the same as the one you use to make a flat white/latte/other coffee drink? This isn't a big deal, because like I said, the flat white was good. I was just confused. I also got my husband one of their signature drinks to go so he'd get to try their coffees as well (something flavored that he said was very good). It was a nice place to meet up with friends and enjoy a coffee. It was a bit crowded by the time we left, but I'm glad people are supporting this business's mission. I'm sure I'll be back if I'm in the area again soon.
