Best Christmas Pop-Up Bars in NYC | Eater NY

"This year’s holiday pop-up at the Standard Hotel has a New York Italian comfort food vibe called Feste. Chef Angela Bazan offers favorite dishes like eggplant Parm and molto arancini at the restaurant decorated with red checkered tablecloths and festive holiday trimmings. In addition, there are several special dinners during the season, including the Feast of the Seven Fishes and a New Year’s celebration. Feste is open November 22 through December 31 and reservations are available through Resy." - Eater Staff

I need to stop listening to influencers. The atmosphere was pretty and trendy and the cocktails were yummy. The food was simply okay. Spent $400 for dinner and drinks for 2. We had multiple rounds of cocktails, apps and desert, so we tried a lot of dishes and most were good, but we’ve had better. The highlights were the cocktails and tuna tartare. I also liked the romaine head, a fun twist on a Caesar salad. My husband said his favorite was the steak tacos. The lows were the entrees. For $60 I expected a nice steak, but it was chewy and the fat was not rendered. It really needed the mole sauce to taste flavorful. The arroz con pollo needed salt and the rice was undercooked. If you’re coming for the pop up, I’d skip and save your money.

Such a lovely dinner I had last night. From the moment I walked in it was lovely service and the food was to die for! I went to the Roma ciudad de Mexico location in 2018. And have been a fan since. This pop up is so exciting. Every single dish was delightful. We were a part of four and got four aos and to entrees and we were stuffed so we split one desert.

Beautiful small pop up. On the pricier side, but food was great. Streak tacos were our favorite

Service was incredible. Pricey? Sure buts it’s NYC and the food was really good and made with quality ingredients. They even provided a free drink/treat to cap off the meal. Solid upscale taste of Mexican cuisine.

I was SO excited for this meal and unfortunately it was one of the most flavorless meals I’ve had in a while, and I’ve never ONCE said that about Mexican food. ⭐️The steak tacos were amazing, ⭐️but the arroz con pollo, grilled salad, and tiraditos were incredibly bland and lacking, while the sea bass with tomatillo sauce was acidic and odd, tasting as if it had gone bad.👎 The rice was undercooked while the fish was slightly overcooked. We were a party of 5 and all shared similar opinions. My cocktail was good, but it was mentioned that they were “batched” or pre made, after my mom asked if it was possible to change the liquor from tequila to vodka and was told they weren’t able to. At a restaurant as nice as this, they should be made fresh each time and a modification as common and simple as this should not be a problem. ❌🍸🍹 We all loved the dessert, but a small rectangle 🍞🤏of sweet bread for around $20 was a little ridiculous. We had a lovely waitress who did take off some of the dishes from the bill for us which was very nice, but for a meal that still ended up costing over $250…I don’t know, just not worth it to me. With all of the amazing food in NYC from $2 tacos to high end tasting menus, this is not worth your time or money.

I love Huset in Mexico City but this was not very good at all. The highlights were the cocktails followed by the octopus tostada. The catch of the day (sea bass) was dry and under seasoned. The pork milanese was very dry and under salted. Spend $275 for two people. Would not recommend. Much better Mexican food to be had elsewhere.

Influencers were shilling this place big time. Was excited to go and immensely let down by the appetizers. Ended up cancelling the mains, because we were so disappointed by the quality of the appetizers at the price point they were at. Safe to say, you can skip this one

Nice atmosphere, our waitress was very nice but maybe a little inexperienced. We tried 5 dishes, steak tacos were great - the rest was mediocre, bland and not worth the high prices. This place has potential, but needs some work.
