"Boasting Teutonic milanesa and Italian pastas, the menu of landlocked and mountainous Paraguay is also rich in recipes influenced by indigenous Guaraní peoples. One such is mbeju, a cheese-stuffed flatbread of sorts made with manioc dough. Another is vori vori, a marble-size corn dumpling often used in soups, such as the chicken soup shown, which also features pumpkin and carrot in a rich broth. Unusual sandwiches and grilled meats also abound." - Robert Sietsema

Homey and cute vibes! Loved the decor and vibe, and plenty of customers! I tried the steamed yuca (simple but yummy!) and Guarana soda (berry like). My friends really enjoyed the empanadas appetizers and I Love Paraguay curry chicken platter. Definitely would revisit to try more dishes!

Such a beautiful small restaurant. The food was amazing, the staff was lovely. Everything sounded so good we even took some home

Always great flavors, small place, comfy and cozy. As a Latino that love sweet desserts, I had try the famous "Tres Leches" cake around the world, and here Ive found the cake that is in the top 3 of them all! Please try it, even with a full belly, you won't be able to stop after the first taste. Sopa Paraguaya (the only dry soup in the world), and if you are Italian or into pastas, please try their Gnocchi with beef sauce and tell me if you didn't tear a little after you did...

This was my first time trying Paraguayan food though I do love a good empanada and they offer an assortment of local varieties here. Started off though with a chips gauzu and it was so good - a wonderful cakey combo of fresh corn and cheese. Then came an assortment of empanadas - nicely presented with little stamps on the parchment to indicate which was which. Nice touch! They were all good though I’d say the cheese and hearts of palm was my favorite. Service was friendly and the place has a nice homey vibe. I look forward to coming back and trying more.

Google
The restaurant is very cozy, with a warm and friendly atmosphere. I ordered the chicken milanesa napolitana with a side of white rice, in addition to the mashed potatoes that come with it. Everything was delicious and well-prepared.

Very small place. The food was very good. Steak was cooked perfectly. Sangria was also good, not too sweet. Beef Empanadas were excellent. The star of the show was the tres leche cake. So moist, & delicious. Went for a friend's birthday, she is from Paraguay & misses the food. She said it was very authentic just like home.

Google
It was a great experience, the atmosphere is very nice, it has live music with harp and the service is good. The place is small, and it is best to make reservations if you go in a group.

Google
I highly recommend this beautiful and amazing restaurant to all of my friends. I cannot stop raving about how delicious and authentic their food is! It is top on my list of favorite restaurants of all time that I have been to and have tried so many! This place never disappoints and the food is beyond incredible! A must try! Not only is the food great but the atmosphere takes me to another place where I don’t even feel like I am in NyC anymore but like I stepped into a quaint little shop in Paraguay, it’s like going on a mini vacation! The decor is so cute and peaceful and they always have nice music to set the mood. The service is always friendly and very accommodating. Really I could not ask for more! Thank you, I love Paraguay!!! My family and I love you! ❤️

Yelp
Can I give them 10 stars?!?!? The I Love Paraguay chicken is one of my favorite dishes of all time. Yes, I said it! I didn't know what I was in for. I didn't know what to get. But the friend who took me here for a belated birthday dinner, who often frequents here himself, told me what to get and did not steer me wrong. The place itself is charming and pays homage to it's culture. The sangria was fire and I could have had a pitcher to myself. Don't worry, I behaved. Other stand out dishes were the empanadas with heart of palm and the cheesy rice. Best part was that the servings were huge. Leftovers were had the following day and they were just as good if not better. I love when that happens.

Yelp
What a great neighborhood find! It was incredibly cozy and homey. The restaurant isn't too big but all the tables were filled and the service was quick. My friend and I shared everything. We ordered the red sangria which was very good. The sopa paraguaya was springy and tasty. The pollo empanada was good. We also got a mixed grill of beef, chorizo, yucca and fries and it was phenomenal. The beef and yucca being the stars. The whole meal was incredibly affordable. Will certainly come back to try more menu items.

Yelp
I went to this fun Paraguayan spot a good while ago and our group shared a bunch of dishes. The staff was friendly and to drink I had one of their juices. I'm not sure which juice I had but I remember it being pretty good (possibly passion fruit.) Most of the food came out pretty quickly and the portion sizes for most dishes were decent allowing them to be shared. We mostly ordered picada which translates to chopped along with a few other dishes. The best of the chopped dishes and probably the best dish overall was the Picada de Carne y Chorizo. This consisted of small pieces of skirt steak, sausage, fried yuca, and French fries. The skirt steak was tender and the sausage was slightly smoky while the fried yuca were in small chunks and the fries were served as steak fries. They paired well together and the salsas helped with the richness. Very tasty overall. There was also the Picada de Empanaditas con Salsas for $21 which came with 3 types of mini empanadas (i.e. said empanaditas) along with 3 croquettes/croquetas with some dipping sauces. The empanada fillings included beef, chicken, and ham and cheese with my preference being in that exact order with the ham and cheese/jamon y queso still being pretty good though maybe a tad salty. The presentation was fun also with miniature flags describing the fillings of each one. The final type of picada we ordered was the Picada de Marinerita with steak covered in Paraguayan tortilla dough, sopa paraguaya, and more yuca though plain instead of fried. This was our least favorite of the bunch with the steak not being nearly as tender being actually rather chewy with the tortilla dough not adding much. The yuca was fine in there being more of a starch filler though at least it was a different texture than the other yuca we had. My favorite part was the sopa which essentially was Paraguayan cornbread which was tender with a slightly sweet taste and I would I have preferred that as a side over the entire dish. Outside of the picada, my other favorite dish was the Ensalada I Love Paraguay with white/purple cabbage, cucumber, tomatoes, yellow and green peppers, palm, oregano, feta cheese, and red onion (with some mayo also) for $13. This was their version of ensalada rusa i.e. Russian/Olivier salad which I've had it in some other spots. This was refreshing compared to the rest of the meal with a good crunch from the cabbage and helped with all the fried foods. I would recommend. My other least favorite dish was the Pollo I Love Paraguay which consists of chicken in curry sauce served with white rice for $20. I would say this was the only dish that I thought was a bit overpriced. The curry was mild as expected. The chicken was a bit bland and honestly a bit overcooked. I would skip it. After paying for the rest of the meal, I got one of their Pionono for $6 to go. Also listed as a Dulce de Leche Roll, this was a moist sponge cake with said milk caramel swirled all around it. Tasty and a good snack with a good texture and I likely would stop in here just to pick up one of these if I lived in the neighborhood and I was looking for something sweet but not too sweet. Hard to dislike the food here though I would like to try some other things next time and not just primarily the finger food. Mid 3

Yelp
Ate here by myself for lunch and dinner. This was definitely my first time eating Paraguayan food feeling curious about what to choose and eat that I got the traditional picada platter that it tasted interestingly good and delicious that I felt super full. The service there was also attentive and pleasant. I couldn't agree more. Finally, I would definitely eat and come back again next time! :)

Yelp
First time trying Paraguay dishes food and I really enjoyed it! I have planned to explore more outside of Manhattan and I'm glad I was able to come here. I asked what was "traditional" and here is what we ordered: Empanada (Mandioca, Cholo) - 5/5, the Mandioca was so unique with the yuca dough I loved it! You MUST try it. Great crunch and filling, the egg and beef is different from anything I've tried before. Marienera (steak fried w/ dough covered) - 4/5; to me, it seemed like a chicken fried steak situation, which I loved. The dough was a bit thick, and we had taken it to-go, so I'm sure it would have been better if eaten fresh. Very filling. Pollo I Love Paraguay (grilled chicken strips in creamy curry sauce, subbed cheese rice) - 3/5; I'm not sure if it was a bad batch or not, but the chicken was very dry in this creamy curry sauce (reminded me of Thai curry kinda). The cheese rice (arroz kesu) reminded me of a heavier risotto, which was nice. Overall, the people were nice and I'm happy to have tried a new cuisine, something NYC is for.

Yelp
You know a restaurant from a particular nation is excellent when it gets love from people in that nation thousands of miles away. Paraguay is one of the nations closest to my heart and whenever I want to mentally be back in Asunción among dear friends, I make my way to Sunnyside on the weekends and order vori vori. It's hard not to be enamored by I Love Paraguay because they deliver on all facets in terms of food, service and ambiance. The space is cozy by vibrant and the staff are very hospitable and helpful, but the food delivers each and every single time no matter what you order. I've visited several times and made my way across the menu but I still have so many things that will keep me coming back. The soups and traditional dishes here are superb and whether you want meat, pasta, small bites, or even dessert, I Love Paraguay hits the spot. The gnocchi are definitely a must try and their chipa guazu is delicious along with any and all of their empanadas! Definitely one of the more unique restaurants in Queens that's far beyond just the novelty of being one of the few Paraguayan spots in town. You'll leave here content and be back time and again. Love this place!

Yelp
amazing place i've been wanting to try forever. met the owner nancy who is from asunción and is incredibly friendly. she was behind the kitchen preparing my declious lomo sandwich. i also tried their wonderful empanadas palmito and chilena which took me right back to lido bar! place is amazing.

Yelp
It was our first time trying Paraguayan food. We were told by many people that this was the most authentic Paraguayan restaurant in NYC! Quite interesting I do have to say. Very big on carbs and meat. We had the picada tradicionale platter. First bite was pretty good but it soon started tasting all the same. There was a guy playing the harp which was a pretty cool experience. I think my biggest takeaway was the service. There was 2 waiters who were definitely severely overworked. Our table was not clean and had stains and we asked the waiter to clean it for us. They were also very slow with overall service since they were busy doing so many things at once. I would probably have to say 3/5 for us.

Andie E.

Yelp
I Paraguay is such a cute restaurant! It's small but decorated so beautifully. I loved their atmosphere. Service and hospitality were top-notch. They even have memorabilia/food & snacks from Paraguay for sale on display at the back of the restaurant. It's worth a browse! Here's our menu (shared by 4 ppl): -- I  Paraguay Salad ($13): delicious and so refreshing. -- Picada de Empanadas con Salsas (3 beef, 3 Chix, 3 ham/cheese, 3 croquettes) ($21): This is the cutest dish. The presentation was fab. The Mini-Empanadas & Croquettes were delicious; my fave was the chicken empanada. So flavorful! -- Picada de Marineritas (Steak covered in Paraguayan tortilla dough, Sopa Paraguay (like corncakes) & plain Yuca) ($25): Shockingly, this was the least liked dish of the night. The entire dish seemed lacking in seasoning and salt, and was very flat. Go figure because this dish looked so appealing! -- Picada de Carne y Chorizo (Skirt steak, sausage, fried yuca & french fries) ($26): The steak and chorizo was especially good. Fave dish of the night! Get this! -- Pollo I  Paraguay (chicken in curry sauce w.white rice) ($20): This was a tasty dish but don't expect the same bold curry flavors in Indian food. The curry is much milder in flavor but still very good. If you've never had Paraguayan Cuisine, this is the place to go.

Yelp
This is my second time at this restaurant. The first time was years ago. Decided to come back after seeing this place advertised on social media by an influencer. If you decide to order online, just know that if you order for the first time that you'll receive 10% off. Anyways, from the outside, the place seems small, but when you walk in, there's plenty of seating. The inside is decorated very nicely. For the menu, it is straightforward. Got the platters of Picada de empanadas con salsas, which has 3 beef, 3 chicken, 3 ham & cheese, and 3 croquettes with dipping sauces. The second platter was the picada Carne y chorizo, which has skirt steak, sausage, fried yuca, and French fries with dipping sauces. Last but not least, ordered the torta tres leches cake.

Carol O.

Yelp
Food and service were phenomenal. I greatly recommend their tres leches dessert. It's a small, nice and cozy restaurant.

Sharis C.

Yelp
I came here based on the good reviews, but the food didn't stand out to me very much. I enjoyed the tres leches cake, but the main dishes lacked flavor for me. The main issue was that my partner and I did not feel welcomed. As the only Asian people there, they sat us at a table right by the doorway where I got hit by people coming in through the door, when there were better seats. Not to mention the harp player who went to play music at every single table except for ours. That sent a clear message to me!

Danielle A.

Yelp
Wow one of the best meals I've ever had. The food was amazing amazing amazing. The cheesy rice was to die for, the sauce that the steak was in was so so good. Great empanadas. Beautiful little spot decorated so inviting. The service was great. I'll def be coming back here!

Kenny S.

Yelp
My family and I were in the area, and based on their reviews, we decided to try it out. As soon as we entered the restaurant, which was quite empty with the exception of three people dining. There were two people at the counter who didn't even look up. Neither one greeted us nor did they make us feel like they wanted our business. When the guy finally did come over, all he asked was if he could help us. 'How could I help you? WTF???? No greetings or any kind of pleasantries. I worked as a waiter when I was in college and if I greeted our customers like this clown, my manager would have cut me a new one. We looked around and the restaurant was empty with the exception on one tables of 3. When we told him that we had a party of 4, he pointed us to a little table next to the front door that only had 2 chairs set up. I looked at him puzzled and inquired about a table for 4. Without looking up, he just blurted that all the tables were reserved (again WTF ???). The guy then walks away and goes behind the counter to fold a make believe napkin. By this time it was quite evident that we were not welcomed in this establishment, so we casually walked out and took our business to one of our favorite restaurants across Queens Blvd in Sunnyside.

Monica T.

Yelp
It's small but I had a meeting with a contact here. Service wasn't very fast so if you're on a time crunch this may not be your venue but I had a good chicken alfredo entree and their speciality cookies are both unique and irresistible to my more curious cat (I had to eat these carefully and quickly). They may also be friendly to filmmakers since there was a production filming a scene while we were having lunch. Being in that space myself and having worked in film production before, I made it a point to be respectful to the production. I can definitely see why a filmmaker may opt to shoot here and they do have a bench outside in case someone you're meeting is running late. If I had time to space, I'd definitely come back sometime.

Yelp
Yesterday my good friend Ethan hit me up to jam together and make some songs.. but I can't play music on an empty stomach. Absolutely starving, I opened my handy dandy Yelp app and found I Love Paraguay. As soon as I walked in, I was blown away by the decor. I only had time for a quick bite so I grabbed three random empanadas, which were all absolutely delicious!! And the sauce.. Omg the sauce. I can't wait to come back and bring someone special here, the vibe and space is incredible!

Jesse C.

Yelp
Service was good, food was even better. It's definitely a hidden gym. I had the "Pollo I Love Paraguay", which is grilled chicken strips, peppers and onions on a creamy curry sauce and served with white rice. Great vibes, food is clearly fresh. recommend especially if you're looking for something different or authentic to Paraguay.

Kev V.

Yelp
Really great authentic Paraguayan restaurant! Enjoyed the Picada de carne y chorizo for two and Picada de empanaditas con salsa. Meat was good quality and tender and the empanadas were on point, the salsas complemented them well. Ambiance was relaxed. Service could have been a bit better but it was busy so we didn't mind. Would def recommend to anyone in the area!

Jo C.

Yelp
Excellent food and service Empanadas were fresh and delicious Sharing platters are plentiful

Melany L.

Yelp
Food is always delicious. The place is big. The staff and their service is always good as well. The place is clean, and the prices are worth it. The menu has a lot of options for those who dont like certains meats or are vegan/veg.

Nathaniel L.

Yelp
The I Love Paraguay chicken tasted like Campbells cream of chicken, but better. It had a ton of leftover sauce, but basically 3 spoonfuls of rice to soak up the sauce. Are we meant to order an additional order of rice? Their empanadas were great. I ordered the palmito but unfortunately the person at the cashier misentered the order and prepared a ham and cheese. Luckily, it tasted amazing and was packed to the brim. Their chipa so'o was dry and not worth it, like a bad jamaican patty. I should've gotten another empanada instead, especially since it was 33% more expensive. The wait was pretty long, and there were no seats available on a Sunday afternoon. Would gladly come back here for more empanadas.

Silvia V.

Yelp
Delicious food and drinks and desserts. And free serenata :) the waiter was super nice and patient. Cute little place very welcoming!

Dirk M.

Yelp
The best empanadas in Queens and the best sangria as well. The space is gorgeous and the service incredibly attentive. The cheesy breads are wonderful and I have been trying new chicken dishes with each visit and they are all outstanding. You will love this place!

B T.

Yelp
Food most of the group tried was delicious. Very few vegetarian or seafood options, which is to be expected for this cuisine. Much better experience for those who eat meat. Mandio Chyryry was heavy, much more yuca than egg so very dry. Service was very understaffed unfortunately, so hope it was a fluke. Two servers for the whole restaurant at weekend brunch. We waited very long times for service. They also brought out all but one person's food, and we did not receive that persons meal for about 25 minutes. Again, hope this was just an anomaly. They did offer a complimentary drink to make up for the issue, though overall seemed a bit odd to charge for the late food at all at that point. They were very kind about it though. Hopefully they provide the servers with enough support moving forward because it was not their fault. If you're intrigued by the menu, and not in a rush, I imagine it would be a good visit!

Christina M.

Yelp
Went here for dinner with my friends on a Monday night. This is a cozy restaurant with romantic decor and flowers and greenery wrapped around the walls. The restaurant was at 75% capacity which was surprising for dining on an off peak night but after we were seated and had dinner here it completely makes sense given how great the service and food is. First off the prices are very reasonable and the portion size is great. Everything on the menu looked amazing so it was difficult for us to choose what to eat. Luckily our server was well versed on the menu and was able to give us recommendations on what to eat. We opted for the cheese and cheese and corn empanadas. The empanadas were very flaky and both empanadas were delicious. The corn and cheese empanadas were my favorite. We also had half a pitcher of sangria which we were able to get 5-6 glasses worth of drinks which is a steal for $25. There was also plenty of fruit in the sangria which was a plus. For entree we decide on the Parrillada para Dos which consisted of Beef ribs, skirt steak, chicken, sausages, fried yuca, and grilled potatoes. We also were able to choose 2 sides with this platter so we choose the cheesy rice and mashed potatoes. This platter could easily feed 4 people and despite there being 3 of us, we had plenty of leftovers. Everything was delicious the steak, chorizo and yuca fries were my favorite. There were also 3 sauces: an avocado base, apepper base and a chimichurri sauce that all added great flavor to the meats. At the end of the meal our server brought out a dessert for me for my birthday. Overall I would definitely come back here again!!

Vivian K.

Yelp
The corn & cheese soufflé was to die for! Absolutely delicious! We ordered the meat platter which is reasonably priced, a little over cooked but the meat was yummy nonetheless.

Z K.

Yelp
The ambiance is really cute. I came here years ago when I first came to this neighborhood and remembered that the tres leches was really good. I just never came back here for it because it's expensive. A portion cost $8.50. I was always wondering if it was still as good as it used to be, so I got it recently, and yes, it's still as good as it used to be. It is the best tres leche cake I've ever had hands down. So moist and creamy, not like many others that are dry and too liquidy. The caramel could be a bit overbearing on the side, so I just scoop it off if you don't want it extra sweet and it's perfect and delicious. One portion is good for 2 people. Years ago, I had their pastries and sopa paraguyaya, and I didn't think they blew my mind because I don't remember anything about it. Maybe I'll come back and try them again. Also, they have a chocolate cake slice that looks like its the tuxedo cake from costco, which is one of my favorite cakes (Costco sells the whole cake for $16, but they charge $6 a slice here). Definitely more expensive since they sell at a restaurant, but if I just want a slice, not a whole cake, I know where I'll go to get it. They have good cake choices here.

Yelp
This is my second time at I LOVE Paraguay. Wow, the food knocked it out of the park (maybe a local park in Sunnyside ). The fish soup was just yumminess. I asked to microwave it again since I love my soup super piping hot. My date was Argentinian and she wanted meat and more meat. So we shared Parrillada por Dos. The sausages and the skirt steaks were my faves then the chicken. It came with two sides and I ordered salad and she preferred the cheese rice. I still have my leftover Yucca from my fish soup. Yep the Meat Extravaganza is really good for 4 super hungry people. I wished I had more room in my stomach because I wanted Alfajores cookies for dessert. But alas, I was SO full. I will come back with my buddies the next time. Jaime the waiter was very attentive and even provided a charger for my Solo Pro headphones. Looking forward to eat my leftovers this week. Ooohhh, I will ask for more chimichurri sauce to go next time lol

Sergio A.

Yelp
Came here on a quiet Wednesday night. What can i say the food is amazing. I had the empanada de carne to start was so hungry forgot to take a picture. For my main i had the soup of the day with tortilla and yuca. Amazing. Been coming here for years and cant wait to be back

Manny S.

Yelp
First time here and i will definitely be back i ordered the beef soup and a cappuccino , passion fruit dessert for after ..both delicious

Bri A.

Yelp
I absolutely LOVE this place. Being from Paraguay and having this restaurant be as authentic as it is makes me so happy. I love the way this tables and lights and decorations look. It is a piece of home here in the states. It is a bit of a drive for me but every once in a while we go and it is definitely worth it. The service is amazing, they are attentive and get to you right away. The food is delicious, and there are some things that I usually don't have unless I'm in Paraguay so I love that they bring as much as they can to the US. If you've never had food from Paraguay, find yourself in NYC and want to try something new, then definitely stop by!

Eileen L.

Yelp
This was a nice find. Empanada platter was great for sharing. Place is pretty and the staff are very nice. Will be going back again.

Tom W.

Yelp
Delicious Pollo I Love Paraguay Great atmosphere and even better food! We stopped in for lunch before heading to theater district.

Elizabeth W.

Yelp
A lovely restaurant. Sangria was delicious. Appetizers yummy....meat croquettes and meat & egg on corn cake. Chicken stew was fabulous. Not alot of chicken so may not be enough for sharing but the sauce is worth it. Desserts were spectacular. We shared the chocolate torte and I wanted to lick the plate. Service excellent and we were serenaded by the harpist...which was lovely. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Catherine M.

Yelp
Great little restaurant in Sunnyside - DELICIOUS EMPANADAS but was REALLY impressed with the warm and friendly staff - makes you feel so welcome - WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK

Melissa R.

Yelp
I had one dish here but it was sooooo friggen good it's worth a review. I came with a group, who mainly ordered sandwiches but I got their fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken. Not the first thing I'd think of when visiting a place with Paraguay in the name but I was starving and needed substance. Their chicken was seasoned really well and I want to say it had a light brown sauce on it. Not what I expected for a fettuccine dish, since it's a white sauce, but omg did they blend into perfection on my taste buds. They also have a ton of pastries that I didn't get to try, but my friends ordered flan and didn't share. So that tells you how good it was. It's a ways away from me in Queens (I'm from Brooklyn) but when in the area, I'll be back.

Yelp
Yummy empanadas! Great local spot for authentic Paraguayan food. Nice folks behind the counter too!

Howard H.

Yelp
Paraguayan food probably doesn't get the love it deserves but if you come to I Love Paraguay, you'll get on that bandwagon real quick. NYC doesn't have many restaurants that serve food from Paraguay but this place is a must if you want to give it a try. The cafe is fairly small but they have a nice outdoor eating area during COVID that gives them extra seats. This place is most definitely popular so hopefully seating won't be an issue. The food here is simply amazing. We started with the bread basket (6 empanadas of your choice and some bread). The carne empanadas were crispy but light and the ground beef and egg mixture was light to boot. The choclo (corn and cheese) was a hit with my wife and daughter. As for entrees, we got the parillada for two (mixed grill) and the milanesa for two (two chicken and one beef). The mixed grill had two types of sausages (chorizo and a pork sausage - both excellent), a pile of short ribs (cooked to perfection and juicy), skirt steak (insanely flavorful) and grilled chicken (looked bland but was clearly marinated since the flavor was definitely there). The milanesa was the standard that I think I'll hold all other cutlets to from now on. It was crispy, thin, tender and not the slightest bit oily. Other places should take note and come try their cutlets for a masterclass. Sides were also pretty good - cheesy rice was creamy, yuca was fried to perfection and the potato salad was also top notch. Service here is excellent - the staff is friendly, knowledgeable and makes you feel like part of the family. Desserts here are also no slouch - their tres leches cake was huge and got rave reviews. Flan was also a hit. In terms of value, I think you'd be hard pressed to find another place that gives you as much bang for the buck as this place. The mixed grill is for 2 but can easily feed 4 people. The meat quality is also very good and they really know how to cook it. The milanesa was mic drop good and was enough for 4 people. We definitely took leftovers home. Most definitely coming back again and again. Big thumbs up.

Santiago K.

Yelp
I love coming to this restaurant, I drive over an hour to get here to get a taste of my country. Small restaurant but delicious food, service is great! Will deff recommend and will come back. Me encanta venir a este restaurante, conduzco más de una hora para llegar aquí y probar comida de mi país. Restaurante pequeño pero comida deliciosa, ¡el servicio es excelente! Definitivamente lo recomiendo y volveré.

Cynthia A. A.

Yelp
Yes we love the food. The service is great. The ambiance is great plus extra harp entertainment. It was an enjoyable lunch meal with my family.

Aura B.

Yelp
My friend wanted to meet and hang out and I said sure, she picked me up. We wanted to eat local and try a new place, because is just so much fun to try new places, me and her have a high intensity for tasting new places. I mean, I remember one night we where club hopping and we hit 5 spots in Brooklyn...and dance it off till like 4am...lolol oh the good days before Covid! This place food was outstanding, I mean the meat tasted soooooooo good! We had the Parrillada, a dish with like 5 different meats and the dessert. It was just perfect, so much food and flavor. I do have to go back to taste more dishes, I am so glad restaurants are open indoor now, so I couldn't pass an opportunity to support a local business and a restaurant that serves great food, is fun to keep tasting food from different places. This place food is typical from Paraguay and it was excellent in taste. This is the thing about NY, there is such a huge variety of food and taste all over the boroughs, but leave it up to Yelp women to find the best tasting ones in each area.

Yelp
**Delivery Review** Looking for a big meal on a Friday night brought me to this place on Uber Eats. Plenty of options here, ranging from bite-sized snacks to full on meals, along with a relatively quick delivery window (about 45 minutes). Went all out and decided on the "Parillada Para Dos" ($50) as well as a Espinaca Empanada ($2.50) for good measure. Meal broken down per below: The good: -Beef Ribs; tender and retained more juiciness than expected -Sausages; a bit salty but bursting with flavor, needing no extra sauce -French Fries; probably fred in meat fat, crispy on the outside and soft inside The okay: -Empanada; well cooked pastry filled with spinach and cheese, more sweet than savory -Potatoes; two wedges included in the BBQ platter, lightly seasoned -Steak; tough meat overall, but fine to pair with the rice The not-so-good: -Chicken; undercooked and not seasoned, could have been executed better -Yuca Fries; took up a lot of the platter, very bland tasting The meat (aside from the chicken) did better as leftovers the next day, so took that into consideration when getting such a large meal. Might be better in person rather than delivery.

Yelp
Been here a couple times now. If you're in Sunnyside, this is an awesome choice. Food is fantastic. The staff are friendly and attentive. The inside is also super pretty and decorated well. This spot has become a go-to for me :)

Yelp
My recent dining experience at "I Love Paraguay" left me thoroughly impressed, thanks to the exceptional levels of service provided by their attentive and knowledgeable staff. From the moment we walked through the door, we were greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality, setting the stage for an unforgettable culinary journey. Our waitress, whose expertise and enthusiasm were evident from the start, took the time to walk us through the menu in great detail. Her extensive knowledge of Paraguayan cuisine and passion for the restaurant's offerings truly shone through. She not only explained the dishes but also provided insightful anecdotes and background information, making our dining experience all the more engaging and enjoyable. What truly set our dining experience apart were the waitress's recommendations. With her guidance, we were able to explore a variety of flavors and specialties that we might have otherwise missed. Each dish she recommended was a delight for the taste buds, showcasing the authentic flavors of Paraguay in the most delectable way. Not only did the waitress recommend outstanding dishes, but she also took into consideration our preferences and dietary restrictions. She effortlessly accommodated our requests, ensuring that every dish met our expectations and suited our individual needs. Her attentiveness and genuine concern for our dining satisfaction truly made us feel like valued guests. Throughout the meal, the waitress maintained a perfect balance between attentiveness and giving us space to enjoy our dining experience. She was always available when we needed her, promptly refilling our glasses and providing us with any additional information we required. Her professionalism and friendly demeanor enhanced our overall dining experience and created a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. Yelp
I have been coming to this restaurant for years now, and I've had an amazing experience each time! The restaurant is small, but cute and I love all the faux flowers they added for decoration. The service is excellent! I always have the same waiter (don't know his name) who always gives a proper greeting and amazing service! It's so important to have nice and attentive waiters to make each customers' dining experience even better. To drink, I ordered a pitcher of red sangria which is the only thing I didn't think was *great* (tasted a bit watered down/tasted like juice). I would suggest trying the guaraná soda which I love!!! To eat, I ordered the picada de chorizo and carne (substituted the fries for mbeju for extra because I knew I'd have fries with my main course). Absolutely recommend this dish (it would be perfect for 3-4 people if you plan on ordering more food besides this). I loved every single thing in the picada and their mbeju is amazing! For the main course, I ordered the I Love Paraguay Lomito Sandwich which I order every single time and never get tired of! This tastes better than any lomito sandwich I've ever had in Paraguay, and the brioche bun makes it taste so much better! You MUST order that if you go! I usually take some pastafrola to go (it's like a guava pie with a thicker, softer crust than your traditional pie). I highly recommend giving that a try if you love guava! I'm super skeptical when it comes to trying Paraguayan food because I can compare it to actual food from Paraguay, and let me tell you.. this restaurant gets it right! Overall, this restaurant is so cute, has great service, and amazing food! I highly recommend this spot, you won't regret it!

Yelp
Finally after almost 2 years I was able to visit this great Paraguayan Food spot. I wasn't aware that due Covid-19 restrictions a reservation was required. Therefore we ordered to go. There were tables unoccupied and we were told there were reserved. While we were waiting for our order a table was available. We asked the waitress many times and then we were assigned a table. We were able to eat dinner there. We ordered parrillada for two that comes with 2 salads (mixta & rusa) and fried yuca and small sangria. The meat was delicious - we ordered well done The waiter who brought to the table our to-go order was excellent and extremely pleasant. Con: The waitress wasn't pleasant at all. Overall, good experience.

Yelp
Great food with friendly staff and even live music (a harpist). Definitely worth a visit! We got in a little over our heads when we ordered and ended up with so much food we were eating leftovers for days. We ordered the Mbeju (yum), Chipa Almidon (the only meh thing we had, if I hadn't seen the description I would never have guessed it was cheesy bread), and Parrillada para dos (completely delicious! But it is not for two people! I think even had we not eaten any appetizers we wouldn't have finished it. All the meats were cooked and seasoned very well, so we ate until we could eat no more! Had leftovers for at least 2 more meals...)

Yelp
I came here with a friend on a Saturday night for dinner. The service was slow. They were not responsive nor attentive. It took them a while for water refill and the time it took them to make the food was slow as well. By the time the food reached to us it was already cold. We ordered an appetizer and an entree. They should have served the appetizer first so that the food didn't arrive cold. Anyways, we ordered: Mixed appetizer that had two empanadas, couple of yucca, and something else that I forgot their names. Anyways, by the time the appetizer reached to us it was cold. Not sure if it was intended to be a cold dish or to be a hot dish. Anyways I couldn't tell the difference. Milanesa mixta that consisted on two milanesa of beef and one milanesa of chicken. The beef was dry and too hard to chew on. The dish came with salad, mashed potato, and something else that I forgot the name of... We wanted to order some soup but apparently they stop having soup after 9pm. Sad. : (

Yelp
We have been to Sabor Guarani on Bell Blvd and had the privilege to speak to the owner several times. He was very kind and attentive and we promised him we will one day make our food pilgrimage to I Love Paraguay. This review is a homage to you young sir. Judging from the wait time its apparent that the food is good. I would say it's definitely above average and consistent. Maybe I was somewhat spoiled on the service and portions in Sabor Guarani, but it was, at best, above average. The restuarant owners should definitely look into putting a vestibule to stop the wind from coming in on these cold days. People kept coming in an out and made it quite uncomfortable after a while. How we realized this is, as my fiance, brother in law and I came in, these two girls in the corner kept staring at us. I figured they saw some Papi candy, but when we were sat in the same table afterwards, we realized what the looks meant, as we kept giving the people coming in and out that side eye. I would say, I wouldn't mind coming back in the future, the service is decent and food is good, pero por favor arregla esa puerta =)!
