How The Travel Industry Is Tackling Food Waste - AFAR

"Operating as a zero-waste restaurant within the resort, the kitchen repurposes unlikely materials into snacks and components, notably kneading fish scales into crackers to reduce discard and showcase creative reuse." - Jen Rose Smith

Where zero is hero: the rise of the zero-waste movement in restaurants - SilverKris

"Embracing a zero-waste aesthetic that extends to décor, floors here are paved with broken crockery and plates are made from cement and glass shards, while the dessert and small-plate repertoire includes creations like honeycomb ice-cream with palm nectar and a banana-flour tuile, underscoring a craft-driven, sustainable approach in Bali." - Delle Chan

Turned up here just coz it was convenient and without much expectation. We were blown away by the food. I’m not a big fan of fish, but their whole market fish (grilled red snapper) was the standout dish of the night and probably the best version of red snapper I’ve ever eaten. We also ordered their grilled clams, grilled octopus, prawn special of the day, romaine, tomatoes, and potatoes. My family and I agreed that everything was super delicious. Walked away stuffed and happy. Might need to go back again. Highly recommend!

We had the best meal of our entire trip at Ijen! The food was incredible, the ambience was beautiful, and our waiter Wahyu absolutely made the night. He was so friendly and personable!! His service really took the experience to the next level. Couldn’t recommend this place more. We had the cold prawns, clams in seaweed butter, octopus, flat bread and tomatoe salad, all to die for! Perfect amount for 2 people. Dessert were shared both options, the coconut and s'mores. A must-visit in Seminyak!

Extremely impressed by the refined flavors and composition of these dishes here. Seafood is very well integrated in the dishes and of high quality. We had a very good dinner here. Staff was a bit too touchy at times, and rushed dishes out until I told them to calm down. Dessert was also a complete miss. But otherwise a great experience.

Crowded place with shared space with Potato Head beach club, near the beach front. Seafood are fresh and tasty. About 650,000 IDR (~S$55) per pax after tax. Whole fish (we had barramundi and snapper) were cut butterfly and grilled with sauce on the surface. Fried prawns are crispy and fresh as well. Cocktails and mocktails were alright too. We had to check in on the kid’s meal a few times before it was served. Perhaps can improve better on this.

While the service is great, the recipes need to be improved as food is average. They must also add new items to the menu, claiming to be an authentic seafood restaurant with less than 5 seafood items is not logical.

Honestly Ijen’s food itself isn’t that spectacular, the pizza barely contains any cheese and the pepperonis ate halved and not great. The pizza base is wet and slimy ewwwww. The ice cream is expensive but just tastes like a 1k ice cream tbh but they selling it for so high. The kūmara taste hard and salty but the sauce is nice and munchy, they have a clean restaurant collaborating with potato head itself. The area it’s located in is pretty nice but the beach is so overcrowded and overrated so dirty and I don’t understand why people like Bali’s beaches so much. The building style is fine and nice. We had to ask for the potato head menu because they were only offering 1 menu and we had 4 people. We got the best drink in Bali, called Indo calypso or something. It’s sweet and sour with a refreshing spark in my mouth. Everything else is 2 stars.

Had dinner here and ordered the flatbread, clams, market fish and king prawns. All of them were very fresh. The market fish was really flavour with the chilli butter sauce. Do order the flatbread as it comes with fish butter is good for soaking up all the sauce from your other dishes.
