The 18 Best Restaurants In Hollywood

"For anyone who’s ever been stranded in Hollywood for an hour, this casual sushi bar from the Iki Ramen people is a prayer answered. This sleek spot on the ground floor of an office building is walk-in-only, sells filling handroll sets for under $30, and boasts a marble bar pouring cocktails, natural wine, and craft sake. It’s a no-brainer for chill lunches, but we love it even more at night when the energy ramps up. You’ll find dates with Pantages tickets splurging on the $88 omakase, while friends walking to Hotel Cafe afterward crush negronis and chat up the young chefs packing spicy yellowtail handrolls. If you’re in search of the neighborhood’s easiest—and most centrally located—pregame spot, Iki Nori is it. " - brant cox

The Hit List: New LA Restaurants To Try Right Now

"We walked into Iki Nori in Hollywood expecting a quick handroll lunch. 90 minutes later, we left with a strong Negroni buzz and several texts to friends declaring we found the spot that dethrones KazuNori. This sleek, walk-in sushi bar from the Iki Ramen people takes up the ground floor of an office building on Sunset, making it a lunchtime no-brainer and a great pre-show option for drinks and snacks. Grab a spot at the 12-seat marble bar, admire the floor-to-ceiling windows, and watch young, chatty chefs sear fatty tuna and pack scallop handrolls in front of you. We’d point you toward the $28 four handroll set—it’s enough food to fill us up, with room to sneak in a few chef-recommended nigiri at the end. " - nikko duren, brant cox, sylvio martins

Iki Nori Review - Hollywood - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"“Hey, I’m in Hollywood with 45 minutes to kill, where should I eat?” On any given day, our phones light up with a variation of this text. That’s Hollywood for you, though—a place where Angelenos often find themselves with time to spare before a show or concert or meeting with no idea where to go. Sure, there are plenty of excellent restaurants, but finding that Goldilocks spot with good food, brisk service, reasonable prices, and a relatively mellow atmosphere can feel like cracking a bank safe. That’s why our default reply is straightforward: Go to Iki Nori. For anyone who’s ever been stranded in Hollywood for an hour, this casual sushi bar from the Iki Ramen people is a prayer answered. The sleek space on the ground floor of an office building is walk-in-only, sells filling handroll sets for under $30, and boasts a marble bar pouring cocktails, natural wine, and craft sake. During lunch, office workers crowd the 12-seat bar, snacking on daily nigiri and scallop uni handrolls while checking their phones to see if there’s enough time for another glass of chenin blanc. Come nighttime, the place transforms into the neighborhood’s most centrally located pre-game spot. photo credit: Jessie Clapp photo credit: Jessie Clapp photo credit: Jessie Clapp photo credit: Jessie Clapp Dates with tickets to the Pantages splurge on omakase (for $88, you get 10 pieces of premium nigiri, two handroll sets, and a dessert) while friends walking to Hotel Cafe crush negronis and chat up the young chefs as they sear fatty tuna and pack spicy yellowtail handrolls. Sunset and Wilcox isn’t one of LA’s most picturesque intersections, but Iki Nori’s floor-to-ceiling windows offer a cinematic view of a streetscape that, if nothing else, is never short on people-watching. The whole experience subtly achieves everything you’d want from a before-show dinner destination: getting you full, getting you buzzed, and getting you out the door and on with life. This is Hollywood, after all—we’re on the clock. Food Rundown photo credit: Jessie Clapp 4-Handroll Set Whether you’re dropping in for a quick lunch or coming for pre-show snacks at night, this should be your baseline order. For $28, you get one toro handroll, one spicy tuna, one salmon, and one crab. It’s enough food to fill us up while leaving enough room to sneak in a few chef-recommended nigiri. photo credit: Jessie Clapp Nigiri Every person at Iki Nori is eating handrolls—rightfully so, they’re better than the ones at LA bar-setter, KazuNori. But the rotund, simply presented nigiri should also be peppered into your order. We usually get a few standard cuts from the regular menu like the smoky seared toro and scallop topped with salt, then order off the daily specials board for rarer stuff like white salmon, engawa, or butterfish topped with kumquat miso. photo credit: Jessie Clapp Crispy Tuna Taco A salty, crunchy little bite and a nice breakup from the handroll parade. It’s like spicy tuna crispy rice that went to Cancun for spring break. photo credit: Jessie Clapp Cocktails Have we gone to Iki Nori solely to drink cocktails? Absolutely. And you should, too. There’s a dedicated highball section, plus interesting shochu cocktails made with things like wasabi salt and ube milk. But we prefer to stick with their “classics,” such as the house Negroni or Iki Old Fashioned, made with Japanese malt whisky and kokuto, a smoky black sugar from Okinawa. photo credit: Jessie Clapp Toro Caviar Handroll Are you a little prince today? Or every day? Then this $12 salty, buttery baton is the treat your highness deserves." - Brant Cox

Came here for lunch on a whim as I happen to be just passing by and I love me some hand rolls. It’s a small restaurant with just sushi bar seating and I was greeted promptly and seated immediately. I went for their three roll combo and it was good, the fish was so tasty. They were actually cutting up another fish right there so you know it’s fresh. Then as an added bonus, they gave me an extra piece of Nigiri which I really appreciated. I doubt that you will find a better sushi hand roll in Hollywood so if you’re there, I recommend this place.

Google
What a great experience all around. The staff is personable, the setting is intimate, and the food is incredible! We were seated right away and greeted with big smiles. Speaking with the chefs and watching them prepare the food is always a favorite of mine. Recommend 10/10 and will be back! (Pictured toro w/ caviar and tuna taco)

Google
Everything we had was excellent! Small restaurant that doesn’t take resys so plan accordingly. We went on a weeknight right when they opened at 5 and had the place to ourselves for a little bit. Two other groups came in before we left. Highly, highly recommend the 4 handroll special combo! Highlights were the truffle salmon and toro caviar. There is a garage (entrance on Wilcox) that Iki Nori will validate for the first hour.

The best hand roll restaurant. The fish is fresh. Salmon burrata was perfect! The ponzu ice cream is the best dessert i ever eat!

Google
Incredible experience from top to bottom. Staff were professional, kind and treated us to two pieces of sushi and the shio koji dessert for our good energy, which was reciprocal from them, too! Everything we had was perfect. Would be back in a heartbeat to enjoy an evening around the whole team, especially new friend Brody. Congratulations to them! In a neighborhood lacking quality Japanese cuisine, Hollywood just earned its new gem.

Every bite was absolutely delicious,. especially the black cod avocado hand roll and salmon & burrata. The chefs are truly lovely. They are helpful, kind, knowledgeable, and patient.

This is my new favorite handroll place because of how fresh the sushi is and the special rolls. My favorite is the scallop uni hand roll. This is my second time coming and I’ll keep coming back and bringing new people here because the staff is so friendly and the place is so nice.

Google
On a Friday evening, right after work, it was empty. It’s a small space with about 12 seats and this opens a pretty intimate experience. We quickly got seated to started running through the menu. There’s a surprising amount of items to look at: alcohol, rolls, nigiri, and some roll sets of you’re a bit indecisive. The 4 special roll set had everything I wanted so I landed on that. They also have daily specials that truly were unique. The chefs were friendly and very chill, keeping a conversation over the meal. They even gave us a couple pieces on the house, which was so sweet.

Yelp
After Postmates messed up my order, a gentleman from Iki Nori kindly drove 30 min (to and from) to deliver my missing items. AND provided some extra goodies to try. ABOVE AND BEYOND! And the food was excellent! Fresh, good portions and pretty affordable for high end sushi. I had the Iki Nori box and my boyfriend had the Kaisen Don. Both were delicious. Tons of food for the price. We will definitely be adding this into our regular restaurant rotation. Talk about customer service!! Do Not sleep on this spot!!

Yelp
It was a terrible dining experience from start to finish and I wish never saw this place on instagram claiming that it's better than Kazunori which is far from true. We went there around 10:15pm thinking that we would have enough time to eat because they close at 11pm. At exactly 10:40pm the waiter showed walked behind us while we were eating and told us that they're doing last call in 5 minutes and was waiting for me to immediately order even if I was eating and when I told him to give me a few minutes to order he rolled his eyes. He came at 10:43pm with the credit card machine and told us that we should either order or pay while I was eating my food, even if I wanted to say anything to him my mouth was full. I was very frustrated and asked him if he just wanted us to pay or leave before we were inconveniencing him and he said that he's asking because he wants to start putting the food away which is not my problem at 20 minutes before the time that they say they close. I would like to add that the food was subpar, the salmon was very fatty and fishy and the other fish inside the rolls didn't taste like anything and the only thing that I liked were the scallops. The rice tasted bad and didn't stick together at all. And even if there was anything about that meal that was good, that guy just didn't let me enjoy it at all. They should never compare themselves to Kazunori because at Kazunori they have warm rice, way better fish and dramatically better customer service. I will never come to this place ever again! Even if they pay me to eat here, it will still not be worth my time.

Yelp
More like ICKY Nori. I took myself out to celebrate getting accepted into my dream doctoral program, but unfortunately, this congratulatory meal turned into a disappointment. The Monday Omakase felt like an afterthought. It came across as a way for the chef to clear out ingredients that were on their last leg, with mismatched flavors that didn't work well together. It felt rushed and careless. While I usually offer feedback professionally, I won't be giving free advice here. If the restaurant is interested, they're welcome to reach out--I'm open to sharing suggestions privately. Out of the 10 pieces, only two stood out in a good way. Overall, the course lacked harmony and balance. I don't recommend the Monday Omakase to others and I won't be returning. It was honestly hard to hide my reactions throughout the meal.

Yelp
Everything here is always fresh and made with intention. The service is always fast and friendly, even when there is a full bar and people waiting. I really like that they keep the menu rotating with new specials. They also have a good selection of cocktails and wine, which is great since most places only serve sake.

Yelp
I can't believe this amazing sushi place has been in my neighborhood for like a year and I'm just now trying it. Iki Nori and Hama Sushi in Little Tokyo have reinvigorated my love of sushi! Brody and the rest of the chefs and staff are super inviting and attentive. The place is small only seating maybe 12-14 people at the bar which gives it a cool clubhouse vibe. I went the first night for dinner and loved it soooo much I grabbed my friend to check it out and went back the very next night!

Yelp
Heard about this place through instagram so I wanted to check it out. I got a chance to come here on a Saturday night without reservations and had to wait about an hour to get seated. The restaurant is pretty small, so you either wait outside or by the limited seated by the host stand. The parking is also a bit tricky, I think there's limited street parking but we parked in a garage (not free). The restaurant only has bar seating, which is nice if you want a cozy intimate dinner. scallop uni (3/5): The dish was good, but it tasted exactly like the scallop uni hand roll (just without the nori. For some reason, I thought it would have more substance but it tastes exactly like how it sounds: uni on top of scallop. It is light and refreshing, and it does come with a lot of pieces, so it might be a good appetizer to share. caviar toro (6/5): This hand roll was the star of the show. This was first on the hand roll menu and it did not disappoint. Everything about it was amazing, the texture, the flavor, the crispiness of the nori, the caviar. I would honestly come back and just order this hand roll and be more than content. scallop uni hand roll (3/5): This handroll was okay. Like I mentioned, it tasted exactly the same as the scallop uni dish, just with nori. It was good, but it didn't stand out. salmon truffle (4/5): This is my second favorite hand roll here. It was good and the truffle added a nice taste to it. I wish these handrolls were a little bigger, given that it is a bit pricey for what you're getting. However you do taste the quality. Overall, great experience.

Yelp
Been eyeing this place for a while and was so excited to finally try it! Came here on a Monday with a friend for dinner around 6:30pm and they sat us immediately. There is limited space as it is a small establishment and all seating is at the bar. The rest of the spots filled up almost immediately after we sat down. Our server was very attentive and offered some recommendations when we got decision paralysis. We started with a Miyasaka sake carafe to share, which was a lightly filtered sake. Our server let us pick out our sake cups which was so cute! We were thinking about getting a cocktail too since they all looked so unique, but they are $20 each so we decided to split more food items instead. My friend and I ordered the Halibut carpaccio and salmon burrata to share. I got the set menu 3 special handroll with toro caviar, salmon truffle, and scallop uni, as well as an add on of the black cod avocado. The halibut carpaccio was paired with Asian pear, yuzu, truffle oil, and black sea salt. The yuzu really brightened the whole dish without overpowering the flavor. It was a nice medley of sweet and salty and freshness from the cherry tomato's, radish slices, and microgreens that also came with the dish. 8/10. The salmon burrata was recommended by our server. I love trying new flavors so this was right up my alley. I mean, I love salmon and I love burrata so it's hard to go wrong, but it's not a common pairing. The dish was topped with yuzu, olive oil, honey truffle, and black sea salt. The burrata added a lovely mild, creamy flavor/texture without being overpowering when mixed with the salmon which was fatty but fresh. The citrus from the yuzu and savory sweetness from the honey truffle worked really well to add depth to the overall flavor profile. I would definitely recommend this dish. 8.5/10. The Black Cod Avocado handroll came in soy paper (I think?) and was warm and delicious. The texture was flakey and buttery, especially with the avocado. Soy sauce was unnecessary since the cod was seasoned so well. 9/10. I was very excited for the toro caviar handroll since I love both! It was a very straightforward flavor - fattiness from the toro and saltiness from the caviar. It honestly lacked depth for me, but was still tasty regardless. 8/10. The salmon truffle handroll was amazing. The salmon was seared which made it melt in your mouth. Paired with the truffle added an umami flavor that just hit the right spot. 9/10. The scallop uni handroll was nice, but the use of yuzu in it really overpowered everything else. I usually love the texture of scallop, and the sweet, creamy, and briny flavor of uni, but the citrus was the majority of what I could taste. 7.5/10. After dinner, our server also brought us a cute dessert, which was a fermented ice cream with house made biscuits (I think?). The ice cream was really good - just sweet enough and tasted like brown sugar with a more tangy flavor. 8.5/10. Overall, I like that there are specialty handroll options, on top of the classic ones. I'll always compare handroll places to Kazunori, as that is the gold standard. And I think Iki Nori is pretty high up there. It's hard to beat Kazunori at the regular handrolls with the warm rice and the quality fish, but the flavors on the special handrolls at Iki Nori were absolutely delicious. I also appreciate variety, and like that there are rotating specials and a la carte items. I very much enjoyed my meal and will be back for more!

Yelp
We did the Omakase special on a Monday night and it was absolutely delicious. I believe they have Omakase on other nights, but on Mondays they have a special chef come in. We got an incredible mixture of hand rolls and Nigiri. My favorites were the Waygu hand roll and Kampachi nigiri. The service was so fast and over the top. We enjoyed a special wafer with ice cream for dessert. For a Monday night, it was pretty busy. I definitely recommend making a reservation and sticking with it. I'll truly be looking forward to the next time I can enjoy omakase here on a Monday night !

Yelp
Main complaint is this place is small with very limited seating. It will likely test your patience. Iki nori specializes in high quality handrolls presented beautifully in little holders. Food quality is also excellent though the price does reflect that. The chefs are also happy to make modifications or do special requests. Came here with my gf and we were even treated to some chef specials on the house. Service is friendly generous and attentive. Would definitely come back!

Yelp
Next level sushi 10/10! It was our first time here and we decided to try the 4 piece hand roll set: Toro Caviar, Salmon Truffle , Scallop Uni, and A5 Wagyu. We also tried their recommended Black Cod Avocado hand roll. Since we were celebrating my birthday, they also surprised me with dessert, Shio Koji and Yuzu Ice Cream Monaka. This sushi experience was the best we've tried so far, it's all about the quality rather than quantity. We savored every bite and left satisfied. The staff was very attentive and provided excellent service. I'm still not over the experience lol! It's a must try for sure, can't wait to come back again!

Yelp
Iki Nori has been all over my FYP, and people are saying it's better than Kazunori. I'd say, if you're looking for a less traditional, more unique experience, then yes, give it a try. But overall, the service didn't quite compare to Kazunori. During dinner, they forgot our rolls twice, and we had to ask multiple times. The server apologized and brought them out quickly afterward. He did comp us free dessert, which was nice. The server was friendly but forgetful. Parking-wise, there's street parking available and a paid lot nearby. Seating is VERY limited, so either go early or be prepared to wait. Seaweed cucumber salad: A unique twist on a typical salad--very lemony. I'd give it a 5/10. Spicy tuna tacos: fish was so fresh and spice was perfect but the avocado was hard and not mushy / ripe Spicy tuna and salmon hand rolls: Solid. The same as Kazunori. Salmon truffle hand roll: SO good, easily a 10/10. Black cod avocado hand roll: The absolute best thing we had. 11/10 Spicy toro special hand roll**: Not worth it; stick to a plain hand roll instead. Yuzu soda: It was decent. Sea salt dessert: Better than the yuzu one.

Yelp
I wanted to try Iki Nori after seeing it crowned #1 in L.A. hand roll bars by The Infatuation, above both KazuNori and the amazing Uoichiba. I took my mom last Tuesday, and we had a lovely, easy half-hour lunch. We were looking for something tasty and convenient, and this place really fit the bill. I wasn't sure how busy it would get, so I joined the line on Yelp on our drive over, figuring it wouldn't hurt. Parking was a cinch, right in the building, though we did have to leave our key with the attendant. We got an hour free with validation and were in no danger of going over (it would've been $5 for a second hour). The place was about 2/3 full when we arrived at 12:15, shortly after it opened at noon. Iki Nori is small--about a dozen seats around a sushi counter--but it doesn't seem hard to walk in, at least on a random weekday. We learned upon arrival that Iki Nori is in the same family as Iki Ramen--the resemblance was obvious as soon as we went inside. I've been a fan of Iki Ramen since it opened pre-pandemic, enjoying both the affordable ramen and the fancy omakase. Iki Nori makes perfect sense as a sister restaurant: an affordable, creative sushi bar with great fish and a casually upscale atmosphere. We were seated right away and service was fast and friendly. We ordered hot genmaicha with our lunch, but I'd visit the extensive booze list at dinner. It includes sake and Japanese whiskey, as well as beer, wine, and cocktails. The food was delicious. The menu was built around hand rolls, though there were also various appetizers as well as sashimi, nigiri sushi, and monaka ice cream sandwiches for dessert (I've had these at Iki Ramen and they are fantastic). I got the 3-hand roll set plus two of the special hand rolls, and they all hit the spot, with crisp nori, good sushi rice, and quality fish. The set came with spicy tuna, salmon, and crab, and if I have one small complaint, it's that they all had a similar texture, minced fine and soft. By contrast, I loved the scallop yuzu kosho, the first of my special rolls. This came with a whole slab of sweet, silky scallop dressed with zesty yuzu kosho, one of favorite condiments. I also enjoyed the decadent toro caviar hand roll. We got a nice bonus at the end of our meal, two pieces of seared shima aji nigiri dressed with black garlic sauce. Iki Ramen has been part of my rotation for years, and I hope to get plenty of use out of Iki Nori. I'd like to try the rest of the menu, including the mouthwatering A5 wagyu hand roll, which I saw prepared for another party. I'll keep this place in mind whenever I want some quick, satisfying sushi in the area.

Yelp
Fantastic hand roll bar to add to the list of must-visits! There aren't that many seats available at the bar so it can be tough to grab a seat without expecting to wait at normal dining hours as they don't have reservations, but it's worth it. I enjoy the limited seating capacity as it makes dining more intimate. Staff were friendly and service was very quick! We tried a sashimi as an appetizer and their suggested 4 hand roll sets. We added on a yellowtail hand roll and a hand fired scallop option that were both to die for. Flavors seemed to get better as it went along! Will definitely be back to try more!

Yelp
Taste: 5 Creativity/Authenticity: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Service: 5 Bang for your buck: 5 This place needs no introduction, but if you haven't eaten at any iki restaurant, do yourself a favor and get yo a$$ here!! One of my favorite times to enjoy some of the best sushi In LA is on Monday, why we'll most sushi spots are closed on Monday and one of the best sushi chef works here on Monday's and you can get to experience sushi like you've never had before. Chef Yoji was the first chef that was able to pair fish and cheese together! Holy moly! But get the omakase and let the master do his thing! The place is small and it's more bar seating than intimate table dining, great for a date, and if you love sake they have so many options to choose from! The service here is deserving of a 5 star restaurant and I will keep coming back til they ban me haha. Thank you again for the best service and experience i will be back!!

Yelp
Hand rolls here are incredible. The flavor, the texture, everything is amazing. I hate to say it, but don't come hungry or else you'll easily spend over $200 on a dinner for 2. Must try the salmon burrata if you love salmon!! They incorporate honey truffle and yuzu. It's amazing, it's fresh, it's creamy... It's a small portion, but still easily shareable. We also tried the scallop uni sashimi- another great appetizer. Uni was fresh & sweet. It features white truffle oil, yuzu, and sea salt. Delicious combination of flavors in my mouth. Didn't get to try any of the cocktails, but I will next time. :) Street parking or parking garage behind the establishment.

Yelp
Came here for lunch on a quick LA trip. They have massive 16 seats which were all full during lunch rush! Still got seated really fast. Ordered the 4 piece hand roll set which came with: Toro, spicy tuna, salmon abcs blue crab. The fish was fresh, my favorite was the toro, melts in your mouth. The rolls were well timed, too keep the crispy texture of the nori. Also got the scallop uni sashimi which came with 6 pieces. Loved how the yuzu and truffle was subtle and not over powering.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I have been following Iki Nori on Instagram forever, constantly sending each other their posts like "we *have* to go." We finally went on a Tuesday right at opening. The ambiance was a bit underwhelming, but the staff was super friendly and patient. We were most excited for the drinks--and they didn't disappoint. She had the matcha martini, I got the wasabi sour with tequila--both were smooth, well-balanced, and definitely snuck up on us. One was enough. The food was good, but not mind-blowing. The specialty handroll were really just nigiri with a seaweed wrap, and the seaweed was tough to bite through. Highlights were the scallop yuzu, seared toro, and yellowtail sashimi. Still on the hunt for that perfect sushi/cocktail spot, but Iki Nori definitely checks the box for great drinks--less so for the sushi. Glad we tried it, but probably won't rush back.

Yelp
My boyfriend doesn't even bother asking my indecisive self what I want for dinner anymore - he just drives straight to Iki Nori when I'm being indecisive because he knows I'll never complain hahaha. Iki Nori has officially become THAT spot for us. We've been here way too many times now, and somehow, every single visit manages to outdo the last. From the quality of the ingredients to the impeccable service and cozy yet modern vibe, this place continues to blow us away. We always go with the 4 Special Hand Roll Set which includes: Toro with Caviar: melt in your mouth buttery richness with that briny pop of caviar. DIVINE. Salmon Truffle: smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced with the truffle aroma that hits you just right. Scallop with Uni: so fresh and delicate. The texture is like butter. A5 Wagyu: seared to perfection and incredibly flavorful. We paired our meal with Iki Highball, which was super refreshing and just the right drink to cut through the richness of the hand rolls. It was crisp, light, and paired beautifully with everything we ordered. Now... let's talk about dessert. I'll preface this by saying I'm not a dessert girl, but the Shio Koji Monaka Ice Cream has me rethinking everything. This is hands down our favorite dessert, and quite honestly, one of my favorite ice creams anywhere. The texture is smooth and light, and the monaka wafer gives it that perfect crunch. It's not your average ice cream - it's elevated while still feeling like comfort food. Every visit to Iki Nori is a treat. The staff is always attentive and kind, the atmosphere is lively, and the food... consistently spectacular.

Yelp
Iki Nori on Sunset, Los Angeles 10/10 innovative or old school sushi, both styles excellent Fish Fresh as f*ck Good tunes and a well placed speaker system; good room acoustics. You can have a convo, but the ambient noise and playlist gives lounge/coffeehouse vibes. Tiny. I counted 17 settings... which undoubtedly helps the acoustics. Charming table settings; the hand rolls come folded like a taco in a beautifully glazed ceramic bowl with notches to hold the handroll just so. Attentive and friendly staff. The busser and sushi chef took turns giving me suggestions by way of sharing their favorites. Then they comp'd a marinated toro handroll just so i could try one more. Healthy selection of Japanese whiskeys, sakes, and other libations, including crafted cocktails. Think matcha martini. Would definitely come back.

Yelp
They have menu items I've never seen before and don't forget to look at the wall for daily specials. I almost missed that! I forgot to take photos of the food cuz it was so good. From the daily special, I had the smoked butterfish. Our waiter, Cornell, was very attentive and told us his fave was the black cod hand roll (wrapped in soy paper) and yes, it was delish! We also got the mushroom soup and shared the seaweed cucumber salad. We showed up at 12 noon when they open and it was mellow. Perfect for catching up with my bestie. It was fun to see the chefs make the dishes right there in front of us. Casual vibes and top-notch food. Parking tip: free parking on Hudson, otherwise 1 hr free in the building lot (attendant says $5 after first hour).

Yelp
iki nori is yet another one of LA's handroll offerings. I had already been to Iki Ramen so I know that the fish quality was going to be fantastic. no disappointments there - fish was definitely very fresh I ordered the toro caviar handroll, salmon truffle, and scallop uni combo. my favorite was definitely the salmon truffle, loved the sear of the fish. portions were somewhat small for the price however small bar so not a lot of people can sit at once but it seems to move quick. we did street parking

Yelp
More like 3.5 stars. Iki Nori is a cool spot in the heart of Hollywood. We ordered the 3 handroll set, 4 specialty roll set and 2 crispy tacos (crab and tuna) The crispy tacos were very underwhelming aa the taco shells were not fresh nor crispy. It was kind of stale. The 3 handroll sets were pretty basic but decent. Ive definitely had bettwr crab handrolls. Now onto the 4 specialty roll set. They were very generous with the truffle shavings, uni and caviar. I give all those rolls a 5 because of the perfect pairing of each ingredient. The highlight was definitely the salmon truffle. The truffle shavings, truffle oil, spicy mayo and seared salmon were great combos. The flavors were very complimentary to each other. A few things to pick on were the handrolls being on the smaller side and not having low sodium soysauce options. Overall may come back and give it another try.

Yelp
Iki Nori is my favorite hand roll spot in LA. The staff is attentive and the ambiance is very mellow. All the hand rolls are made to perfection and the nigiri and sashimi options are always great.

Yelp
Food 5/5: really good quality of fish and tasty. I would 100% come back again. On a bit pricy side with smaller portion is the only downside. Service 5/5 Ambiance is - too small, did not wanna wait so took it to go

Yelp
There is no dedicated parking. But there are plenty of streets parking available. We can around 1:45pm and waited for 30 minutes to sit down. The Interior was just a bar that fits about 13 people. The inside smells a little too fishy in my opinion, like a fish market. I got the 4-hand-roll set Spicy tuna was flavorful. 7/10 Toro tuna hand roll was very good. 8/10 Salmon was alright. 6/10 Crabs was alright. Appreciate the real crab meat and taste, but the flavor was not hitting 5/10 And the Yellow tail nigiri 5/10 The rice seems undercooked and broke apart very easily. The sauce is overwhelming and you can barely taste the sweetness of the fish. Our service was quick and courteous. But I have these concerns: - They touched the screen and didn't change gloves. Seems a little unsanitary. - Can't switch out the rolls from a set. Overall, it was still a good dining experience, but I wouldn't come back.

Yelp
I heard about Iki Nori through social media and it's been on my "must try" list for awhile. Well that day finally came and I have to admit, outside of NYC, Iki Nori is one of the best hand roll spots I've been to. Things I tried: - Toro Caviar hand roll - the toro was very excellent quality as was the caviar. Lower end caviar can taste offensive when paired with something as delicate as toro, but the caviar at Iki Nori was just barely salty, adding a refreshing twist to each bite. - Salmon Truffle hand roll - this roll was actually my favorite. The salmon was very buttery, even more so as it was lightly torched, and there were copious amounts of truffle shavings on top. - Uni Scallop hand roll - the scallop was amazing, but while the uni was fresh, it didn't seem to pack any flavor? I think for this one the scallop yuzu hand roll would be a better alternative, especially for the lower price point. - Hamachi carpaccio - the hamachi was excellent quality but the sauce it was in was missing something that would've really balanced out the flavors. - Toro carpaccio - amazing. I have no notes other than you should get it. - Matcha-tini - I'm a huge fan of espresso martinis, but this matcha one converted me into hoping that this becomes more mainstream at other restaurants as well. Definitely get it - Ume Highball - this was disappointing and tasted mostly of tonic. I'd skip it. The service was also great as we were consistently getting checked up on and provided water refills. The chefs also gave us a few amberjack nigiri and an ice cream dessert on the house! I'll definitely be back as Iki Nori completely blows KazuNori out of the water.

Yelp
Really good authentic style hand rolls which are amazing. It's fun to sit at the sushi bar and watch how the. chefs hone their crafts. They are super friendly and nice. The fish was fresh and tasty. We also had a dessert that was outstanding..

Yelp
Had to check this place out after The Infatuation said it dethroned KazuNori as the handroll king. In my opinion KazuNori still reigns supreme. But, it's still a solid spot, good quality, and they even offer non-handroll food options like hot appetizers, baos, cut rolls, sushi, and sashimi. Came early on a Friday evening and put our names on the waitlist but it was still an hour wait as the sushi bar sits 10 or maybe 12 people. Since we were starving, we decided to head down the block to its sister restaurant, Iki Ramen, to get a little bite first. When we did get seated, the service is great, you do get served relatively quickly, and you're in and out for your meal. Fish is high quality and the accoutrements/toppings pair nicely. My favorites were the Bluefin Toro and A5 Wagyu handrolls. Pro Tip - Iki Ramen didn't have any wait when we went and they also offered the same special handrolls featured at Iki Nori! So naturally I had to try them at both to compare - and surprisingly I liked the ones at Iki Ramen better. Specifically, the A5 Wagyu handroll was more charred and the pieces of meat were way larger. Basic/standard handrolls are not offered here though.

Yelp
Hands down, some of the best hand rolls!!!! Iki Nori is doing it right! They have excellent quality at a great price! This place is kindof on the small side. Not great for big parties but perfect for a date night out. Make sure to dress to impress, it's Hollywood after all. Being gluten free is hard enough but the staff accommodated my needs perfectly. They were super polite and friendly and attentive to everyone. I would suggest arriving a little bit early. It's a small space which tends to get a little bit crowded. There's plenty of outside meter parking. I can't wait to come back

Yelp
Excellent sushi and really unique handrolls. Everything was delicious! The restaurant is very tiny with only bar seating of less than 20 seats. The turn around is pretty quick so it is definitely worth the wait! Parking is on the street. Area not the best but food makes it worth the drive. Will be coming back in the future!

Yelp
@ikinorisushi - you're o-FISH-ally my favorite hand roll spot! This hidden gem just opened a few months ago in March, but they're already blowing me away with their impeccable quality and dedication to culinary execution. Every guest is treated to a tantalizing feast for the eyes at the sushi bar, where you can interact with and watch the chefs as they meticulously prepare and serve your food. We went with the four premium roll set, which was a good mix of incredibly fresh sashimi and torched wagyu/salmon, all topped with ingredients such as fresh truffle, caviar, and ikura. The chefs were all so kind and personable, and even prepared extra complimentary dishes for every guest at the table. I definitely recommend checking them out if you're in the area for some of the BEST sashimi I've had in LA, attentive and personable service, and an unforgettable dining experience!

Yelp
I've tried a fair amount of handroll spots - Kazunori, Yunomi, Sogo Roll Bar, etc. If you're looking for specialty handrolls, Iki Nori is the best in my opinion. This was my second time here and I came for dinner. FLAVOR (4.7/5): 1. 4 SPECIAL HAND ROLL SET - BLUEFIN TUNA TORO WASABI CAVIAR: Delicious!! What a great way to start the meal. One thing I love about Iki Nori is their nori; it doesn't get soggy and stays nice and crisp while you eat it. Sometimes with hand rolls, the bite isn't as clean because the seaweed wants to stick together - I didn't have this problem here. Also, they don't salt their seaweed like Yunomi does, which I prefer. The salted seaweed at Yunomi occasionally clashes with the other umami flavors. - SEARED BAKKA FROST SALMON TORO TRUFFLE: Iki Nori is an expert at creating flavor profiles that pop! The truffle was delicious. - SEARED HAMACHI TORO HAND ROLL (originally Hokkaido Scallop Uni, but I subbed this one out): The seared hamachi toro hand roll is my favorite because of the umami of the chili crisp. Texture-wise, it complements the softness of the fish, and you get a nice kick from the dab of yuzu. - A5 MIYAZAKI WAGYU: Yummy and cooked nicely! 2. SOY TORO (special of the day): The soy toro was also a hit! 3. CRAB HAND ROLL: I liked crab hand roll. It's baked (real) crab. I wish they also had a softshell crab roll. It's the one thing Yunomi does really well. 4. SMOKED ALBACORE: The smoked albacore had shiso leaf, which was a creative touch. It also had a smooth, smoky flavor that was unexpected but delicious. Honorable Mentions: I had the Spicy Salmon Skin Hand Roll and the Black Cod Avocado Hand Roll the first time I came here, but to be honest I did not love either of them. I wasn't a huge fan of the use of soy paper for the black cod roll and the spicy salmon skin felt a little one-note to me. SERVICE (5/5): AJ was our server and he was amazing! Very friendly and was happy to answer any questions we had. Great company during our meal. AMBIENCE (4/5): Low-lighting (for dinner) bar seating. Good for date night, but would not recommend for larger parties. Ideal size is probably 2. PARKING (2.5/5): Street parking only, although we had an easy time finding it around the corner. It was a Tuesday night around 6pm. TAKEAWAYS: If you're looking for good basic hand rolls for a decent price, then Kazunori is the best choice. If you're looking to elevate your handroll experience for a higher pricepoint, then choose Iki Nori over Yunomi. Iki Nori is superior in terms of flavor and nori quality. Their other restaurant, Iki Ramen, is also one of my favorites! My only gripe with Iki Nori is their lack of unagi, soft shell crab roll, and lactose-free desserts ;-)

Yelp
In this place you choose the formula of 4 or 3 hand rolls first , each of rolls is made with fresh and genius creation of different fishes.. like you get spicy tuna with black caviar or jumbo scallops with sea urchin and the seared salmon reminds me of Ike sun of kimagure.. we tried spicy tuna tacos and some other stuff but the special hand rolls make this place unique...I enjoyed it and I will be back ..

Yelp
Came on a Saturday early evening and waited about 30 minutes. The interior is quite small and all seats are at the bar/chef area. We got the 4 special handroll set which included the toro caviar, salmon truffle, scallop uni, and A5 wagyu as well as the salmon burrata. The quality of the rolls were amazing and melted in our mouths. For the premium ingredients, I thought the set was a pretty good value. The salmon burrata was very clean and citrusy with just the right amount of creamy from the burrata. Overall, it was a satisfying meal and I would come back again.

Yelp
Came here on a weekday to have a birthday lunch. We arrived alright at opening and was part of the first group to sit down in the restaurant. It's bar seating only and they have about 10 seats. Like most hand roll places, they have a couple of set menu options which include 3 to 4 hand rolls or you can order a la carte. They have sushi, sashimi, appetizers and also dessert. This review is only for hand rolls. I ordered the special 4 hand roll set which includes: Toro caviar - simply tuna and caviar and it was delicious Salmon truffle - salmon that was torched and had truffle shaved on top, the combination worked well and truffle wasn't overpowering Scallop uni - scallop with uni and yuzu on top to add a bit of citrus. Both the scallop and uni were super fresh A5 wagyu - torched A5 wagyu with some soy based sauce and it just melted in my mouth I ordered 2 more after the set: seared hamachi toro and black cod avocado but these were just ok They also have some rare beers on tap, Orion, Hitachino and Suntory. The hand rolls were interesting though. They basically shape a nigiri on top of the seaweed and you roll it up to eat it. Only street parking is available and I saw a lot of people get takeout if you don't wanna wait. Everything was fresh and I do recommend this place but don't expect to be full from just the set menu.

Yelp
On a Friday evening, right after work, it was empty. It's a small space with about 12 seats and this opens a pretty intimate experience. We quickly got seated to started running through the menu. There's a surprising amount of items to look at: alcohol, rolls, nigiri, and some roll sets of you're a bit indecisive. The 4 special roll set had everything I wanted so I landed on that. They also have daily specials that truly were unique. The chefs were friendly and very chill, keeping a conversation over the meal. They even gave us a couple pieces on the house, which was so sweet.

Yelp
NOTE: Dined in on 6/6/24. Metered parking available. Relatively small space, so get there early! Ever since KazuNori hit the scene years ago and pioneered the concept of a handroll bar, providing efficient, fast service, while still maintaining a high standard of quality, there have been countless imitators both here in LA and elsewhere. In my opinion, KazuNori's quality has suffered a bit throughout the years, mostly due to changes in the filling, but it's hard to beat how consistently good the rice and the nori is. And let's be honest, that's a good portion of the handroll that you're eating. As such, it's been hard to find a suitable replacement spot (believe me, I've tried all of them), but Iki Nori has arrived to try to contend. The good news is, it's pretty good! And it has potential to become better. The restaurant is owned by the same owners at Iki Ramen in ktown, which in my opinion, is the best ramen shop in ktown now that Saikai has closed (RIP), and so I had a feeling that this wouldn't disappoint. Upon entering, we were seated at the L-shaped bar. I wanted to explore a different combination of handrolls than what was on offer for their fixed-price offerings, so here's a breakdown of what I tried: Black cod handroll - served in soypaper and in terms of shape, probably the most familiar to those who have dined at KazuNori. The black cod itself was prepared... fine? It wasn't quite overcooked, but it was close to it. The flavors are familiar to anyone who has had miso black cod and the amount of filling was just enough. Not a lot else going on, but it's a great choice for anyone who wants something that is fully cooked. Scallop Yuzu Kosho - I am obsessed with yuzu kosho, which is a condiment that is a mixture of yuzu peel (a type of tart citrus fruit), salt, and chili peppers for a slight kick. It goes really well with raw scallops and I've had this combination countless times before. Was it good here? Yes, but it's also kind of hard to mess up. But this ended up being my favorite item here and the portion was generous compared to everything else. A5 Wagyu - Huge disappointment. The meat may not have been torched/cooked properly because it was soooooo chewy. To the point where I could barely take a bite out of it without a lot of effort. And when I chewed, I didn't taste that fatty richness and melt-in-your-mouth texture that I'm used to from A5 Wagyu. So that begs the question... is this really A5? Or is it a cut that needs to be cooked with more care? Who knows, but I wouldn't order this again nor would I recommend it. The thing is, I think it's one of their flagship items, so I hope that they work to improve on it. Based on the items I reviewed, you might be wondering why I'm still giving it 4 stars. Well, the rice and seaweed are important components of a handroll, and they did a pretty good job here! The rice has a satisfying chew to it, with a slight hint of vinegar and sweetness. The nori was crispy every time. It really makes a difference when it comes to eating any kind of sushi. But if I had the choice, I'd probably rate it closer to 3.5 stars overall. Good enough to try again, but I would still stick to KazuNori or if you're on the Westside, try Lima Nikkei! Now THOSE handrolls are something else.

Yelp
Iki Nori is a small restaurant that offers an intimate experience. I ordered the 3 special hand roll which includes the toro caviar, salmon truffle, and scallop uni hand roll. The toro caviar was my personal favorite, however I was very impressed by all of the rolls included in this set. The fish was very fresh and it was a great experience to be able to watch the whole creation process!

Yelp
Very intimate and small but such a great, low key sushi experience! One of the highlights of this spot was definitely how intimate the experience was. I came as a party of 4 and we had such an amazing time. You have the option to order hand roll sets or a la carte. They have daily specials listed on the wall and the hand rolls are pretty standard options with some special handrolls that are stacked. For example, they had a toro hand roll with caviar, which was delicious. Some other great hand roll call outs are the salmon truffle, scallop yuzu kosho, and the A5 wagyu handroll. The handroll sizes were standard or slightly on the bigger side (compared to kazunori). The people here were very attentive and checked in on us periodically. The atmosphere was very intimate and realizing. There is plenty of street parking on the inside small streets. Highly recommend checking this spot out!!

Yelp
Delicious hand roll place and it did not disappoint ! The quality of fish is AMAZING ! The fish is so fresh and slices are thiccc. The service was great and it's fun seeing them put together the rolls right in front of you. Defs recommend going on off days, the wait can be long and there's limited seating

Yelp
Quality of food is good, even though the hand rolls are most dressed up than I prefer. The options on the fish can also get adventurous, which is a nice option. The service can be really rapid- which I appreciate because chances are you're out there to catch a show. Staff is super attentive!

Yelp
My first experience here was exceptional. All the sushi was delicious, creative, and filling. However, I found tonight's experience to be a lot less thrilling. I did the Omakase for $125. I ordered several additional items in order to feel full. I also didn't find the sushi to be as delicious as before.

Yelp
Amazing service. Food was great ambiance was great. Small spot so a bit of a wait. Overall 10/10 for fresh sushi with good flavors. They also had gluten free soy sauce.

Yelp
I liked the hand rolls here a lot. They really are giving kazu Nori a run for their money! Actually I'd say they are a notch above Kazu with their slightly elevated rolls. The dining room is very small though and counter seating only as well. So don't try to come with a large group! Street parking can be a bit of a challenge depending on the time of day you go.

Yelp
We popped in for a quick bite, the food quality was really fresh and was a joy watching them make our orders, they seem really proud of their work and rightfully so. I won't lie, I think we didn't do this spot right lmao Like we came in not really all that hungry, and wanted to make so many substitutions to the hand roll sets like I don't think we were doing this spot a service really. So although the experience wasn't all that to get 5 stars, I think it was more an us thing than the restaurant. The portions were small. So be prepared for that, an order of nigiri is a singular piece, not a set of 2, I had to order that way in the pic. The sashimi came out with 4 pieces. Parking, as always in Hollywood, is atrocious, we parked at a lot and got away with not paying although I wouldn't count on that. The service was great, my water never ran dry. Honestly we were in and out in I swear 20 minutes lmao. Ambiance is very intimate as it's a small venue although I feel like is typical for hand roll spots. I saw their alcoholic drinks on the menu on the wall and on shelves displayed, but not on the menus in front of us which I thought was interesting and a bit confusing. would probably be back to do a better / more thorough review.

Yelp
Ordered- 4 hand roll set, spicy yellowfish hand roll, shio koji ice cream monaka Parking lot in the parking garage attached to restaurant with 1 hour free or plenty of street parking. We were lucky enough to get a seated on a Tuesday night without much of a wait. It's a small restaurant but plenty of options on the menu. The nori was fresh and crunchy. The hand rolls were made well and didn't crumble with each bite. Everything tasted super fresh and light! My favorite was the dessert- it was not too sweet, slight caramel flavor ice cream with the crispy thin wafer was fantastic!

Ani J.

Yelp
Really good food at a great price. The handrolls are fresh, tasty, and made right in front of you. The staff is super kind and welcoming and they make you feel right at home. They even gave us some complimentary items, which was such a nice touch. Cod Avocado was amazing!! Definitely a spot I'll come back to. Simple, good vibes, and great sushi!

Yelp
New high-quality sushi spot in central hollywood. Everything was extremely fresh, good service, chefs even gave me a seared toro nigiri on the house. Free covered parking for 1 hour behind the building. Walk-ins only.
