Ikki Japanese Cuisine & Bar - Review - Old City - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"Ikki is right down the street from the Liberty Bell, so you can always expect a crowd of tourists and late-night crowds looking to get in a few rolls before they close at 11pm. They have a solid $15 lunch special, which comes with five pieces and a California roll, but expect pieces like spicy salmon and shrimp topped with a peppery paprika sauce for dinner. Their juicy cuts of fish and smoky drizzle will have you daydreaming about them as much as you do about having a chauffeur before heading home after a late night here." - Candis R. McLean

The combination of excellent food and excellent service simply can't be beat. I've been here several times now, and haven't been disappointed at all! The sushi is fresh (and more important, not "fishy"). The tempura was light, airy, not greasy and very tasty. The steak was a nice hybrid of West and East and deliciously tender. Even the sake selection (a nice, creamy unfiltered chilled sake) was served with care and a smile you could "see" through the mask. Impeccably clean, friendly, not annoying hovering yet attentive... definitely my favorite Japanese restaurant in Philly and one of the best in Old City. 100% recommend!

we went here on a whim and oh my god. the sushi was great, as well as the miso soup but I can not rave enough about the sushi "pizza". we tried the spicy tuna & the spicy salmon one, both incredible and full of flavor. do yourself a favor and order this immediately!!!

My husband chose this place as part of our date night and we were both skeptical because their weren't many reviews. However, our experience was pleasant, the ladies who served us were very nice, and although the inside is small the quality is there. I am a big fan of quality and this restaurant serves just that. What we ordered: the Asian Pear Mojito, an Apple Twist drink (I forgot the name but both were very good), California roll, Shrimp Tempura roll, Pork Gyoza, and the Hibachi Combo A. Everything was cooked perfectly! We will be back.

Lower than average sushi quality. The service was horrible, I had to call them to give me menu and order food. No one ever came to the table to check on us. Did I mention the quality of the food? The lowest quality of sushi! I ordered warm sake, guess how they made warm sake? They put the sake in microwave to heat it up. Oh my goodness! Never ever again!

Came here for a quick lunch. Good price of $13 for 3 rolls + a delicious salad (refreshing dressing...received quite a lot, more rather than not enough, which I prefer). The spicy tuna bad some crunch which was surprising. Not unpleasant, but unexpected. The salmon avocado tasted good as expected. The seared tuna was good too. The nori wrap was flavorful. Generally all really well wrapped.

Rolls were very good. Valentine, New Tuna and Ikki were great. Yellowtail scallion also a winner ! Sake was hot which I prefer, nice decor and staff was pleasant.

Walked in, no res, no problem. Was very politely offered 1hr seating due to a pending large party reservation. It was all we needed. Service from waitstaff to drinks was very welcoming and GOOD! Sushi and sashimi were divine and sublime. Pear mojito a must try, and the Ikki Love boat with soup and salad was way more than two should have eaten, so we shared calamari and the duck appetizers 😁 So fresh, so good.

Wonderful food! Every sushi roll we tried was mouth watering! We ordered seconds and dessert! Also, easy to get to from historic district.
