Il Seme was incredible from start to finish. Every dish was full of flavor, beautifully made, and the service was top-notch. The atmosphere felt warm and special, and you can tell there’s real heart behind everything they do. Easily one of the best meals I’ve had in Tulsa. Everyone should try it.

From the greeting at the door to the service at the bar, il seme is elegant yet welcoming and warm. The atmosphere friendly and charming and the people all top notch, but individualist. I had a new pasta and it was spicy and incredible. Highly recommend.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Wow! The food was fresh and delightfully prepared. Loved every morsel. Our server, Elliot, was superb - friendly, genuine, insightful. She was perhaps the best we’ve ever had take care of us. We’ll be back!

Best Italian restaurant in Tulsa! The new remodel is amazing - love the new bar, it is adorable!! For dinner I had the roasted rainbow trout dish and I licked my place clean, it was that good!! I ordered the zucca sour drink and my tastebuds were blown away by how amazing it was. For dessert, I ordered the best chocolate cake, ever! Give that pastry chef a raise!! Everything Linda and Lisa touch is gold and I’ll never stop praising their places - they make incredibly delicious food! Run, don’t walk here!

What an amazing experience! We were welcomed by the staff as soon as we arrived and felt like we had just got home. The bartenders were very nice and made us some amazing cocktails before dinner. I had an amazing moijto. The dinner we had was simply amazing. Everything tasted so fresh and very well thought out. I really feel like this is a gem of Tulsa. Highly highly recommend. It’s worth the visit!

I loved my experience at il seme. I was in town visiting a customer and was staying very close by at The Mayo. I went in right when they opened and bellied up to the bar where I was taken care of by the wonderful staff. I ordered multiple things to eat a bite or 2 and took the leftovers. Every single thing was amazing. The ragu was so delicious and the homeade pasta and gnocchi....superb. No complaints, not one! Can't wait to get to Tulsa again to eat at il seme!!

Google
I would come back for drinks and enjoy the atmosphere but the food was incredibly disappointing. I have never complained to a waiter about an entree before but I would have rated it a 1/10. It seemed like pasta that has been boiled and maybe buttered. When we (someone else at the table ordered the same dish to their disappointment) the waiter said people can add seasoning but most of their customers don’t like salt? For a $30 “savory” pasta dish you expect a little more. Would not return for a main course, or at least avoid the gnocchi entree.

We loved Farm Bar so decided to give the sister restaurant a try! The cozy atmosphere is wonderful and food is amazing! We all ordered different dishes and had desserts which were so delicious and fresh!

Yelp
I loved il seme so much! I'm visiting Tulsa for the weekend, and I made a reservation for dinner here because I was impressed by the menu online. I generally am interested in restaurants that offer high, quality, vegetable-focused menus by the season, and il seme checked all my boxes. The service is outstanding. I ended up having to move my reservation twice, once online and then over the phone, and they were very accommodating. Our server, Madison, was literally so helpful and sweet. We asked her for bar recommendations, and she wrote down a list of her favorites with notes on the vibes/best drinks. It was so above and beyond. You can also tell the staff operates as a team when it comes to taking care of guests. 10/10 for service! The ambiance was so beautiful. While the tables were a little small, the restaurant is a work of art in itself. It has the most gorgeous wooden paneling and pretty blue walls. It was very hip/artsy/clean/cool. My only pain point was the restaurant was unusually warm, to the point of being a bit uncomfortable (I was in a sweater). The drinks were great. I ordered the N/A margarita and it was FANTASTIC! One of, if not the best mocktail I've ever had. My boyfriend got a beer that had a slightly coconut-y taste - yummy and unique! For appetizers, we ordered the focaccia and green garlic arancini. We enjoyed both! I loved the balsamic butter, though that dish was a bit on the salty side. The leek sauce that came with the arancini was a dream, and the mozzarella was warm inside. I ordered the gnocchi with oklahoma mushrooms, mascarpone cream, and grana. It was excellent and you will love if you enjoy creamy, truffle-y flavors. My boyfriend ordered the beef and lamb ragu, and he found it to be ok - perhaps a little on the aggressively al dente side. Overall, I enjoyed il seme and would come back! This really is a warm and welcoming place that puts a lot of intentionality into crafting their menu.

Yelp
My wife and I popped in on a recent Saturday evening without a reservation and were able to be seated at the bar. We split an appetizer and pasta dish. The pasta was fine, although for the price the size was a little small. The staff was friendly and would recommend.

Yelp
So amazing I went two nights in a row! What a fantastic restaurant. Connected to Farm Bar, it uses locally sourced food, pasta made in house, and wow... what a delight. The service was attentive but relaxed so we felt perfectly comfortable having conversation and eating. Wonderful place. Definitely give it a try. And even though it's downtown, parking is easy because the Arvest parking garage is right across the street and patrons can park there after banking hours.

Yelp
Great food and great ambiance. The drinks were amazing and the espresso martinis are great. Just fyi it does have a cherry at the bottom of the drink. Great pasta and great focaccia. Would def revisit

Yelp
We've been hearing the buzz about Il Seme. We made reservations for four for a New Year's Eve dinner there. The restaurant was completely full and is an upscale vibe. It has a well deserved reputation for excellent tasting and beautifully prepared foods using locally sourced ingredients. We feel that prices for cocktails and food is slightly north of moderate but not outrageous. As they say, you get what you pay for. For starters we ordered the SESAME SEED FOCACCIA WITH BALSAMIC BUTTER 4PCS. The balsamic taste in the butter was present but not overwhelming and the focaccia was really good. We quickly devoured the four pieces and wish there was more of it. For my entrée I ordered the FETTUCCINE WITH BF FARMS BRAISED BEEF RAGU, FRIED ROSEMARY, AND GRANA PADANO. Wow, this was just fantastic. The house made fettuccine was cooked perfectly and the serving was generous. The braised beef Ragu had an excellent flavor which complimented the fettuccine perfectly. It was topped with a smattering of fried rosemary which gave the dish a wonderful sensory experience in the nose and in the mouth. For dessert we ordered the TIRAMISU WITH AMARETTO, LOCAL CREAM, & COCOA and the CHOCOLATE MOUSSE, AMARENA CHERRIES, WHIPPED CREAM, AND COCOA CRUMBLE. Both desserts were outstanding but my favorite was the chocolate mousse. The Amarena cherries buried within eeso good. And overall it was just a taste explosion in the mouth. Even though the restaurant was very busy on New Year's Eve, we felt the service was very good. We didn't feel rushed and it was an extremely relaxing evening. We can't wait to visit il Seme again.

Yelp
My husband and I decided to try il Seme for a romantic date night and enjoyed our experience. We started with the fried olives and the Focaccia bread. We loved the bread but the fried olives were just okay. We each had a couple glasses of wine but weren't overly impressed with the taste and quality. Our favorite part of our meal was the pasta. I had the Red Pepper Cavatelli and the Gnocchi. The pasta had amazing texture and flavor. We would definitely come back for just the pasta alone! Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and seemed to be passionate about the food and drinks they serve.

Yelp
We started off with the amazing bread and an undescribable butter. The deep-fried olive appetizer was absolutely amazing. The Caesar salad had a unique twist to it, and we un characteristically decided to have the spaghetti and meatballs, which is something I would never order and it was fantastic.

Yelp
My wife and I tried il Seme for Valentine's Day. The atmosphere and staff were very nice. We started off with the Fried Olives and Arancini. I would go back just to get the Fried Olives again, they were awesome. My wife got gnocchi and I got the fettuccine, which was similar to a bolognese. My wife loved hers and mine was good as well. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
My husband and I decided to try this place since it was recommended by the restaurant Farm Bar (which we loved). We gave them a try and in all honesty, it was just OKAY. We started with wine & the fried olives and they were good but the olives need a dipping sauce. Next we each ordered a pasta dish. My husband's linguine with rock shrimp was better than my pesto pasta. The pesto was good but there was no source of protein. The service was mediocre. Our waitress seemed annoyed by our presence. She even rolled her eyes when we said we weren't ready to order (we had only been there 15 mins and were trying to enjoy our culinary experience- which we had a reservation for). Also, you fill up your own water glass (take that how you wish). Ambience was good. Restaurant was quiet but not so quiet you felt people were listening to your conversation. We probably won't be back.

Yelp
It gives me no pleasure to say this but I've sadly watched this restaurant go way down hill in quality while raising its prices excessively. The portions are small and the food is not fresh. Had dry meatballs and a poorly dressed salad last night as the "special" and was told that both people in my party had to order it. Who does this? For a restaurant pretending to be upscale it's operating like an all you can eat Chinese buffet. Cut your pretension and make some decent food for a change. Man up if you're going to charge LA prices. I'm over you.

Yelp
We were treated immediately and seated promptly without a wait. We did make reservations. We tried 2 appetizers a bread with balsamic butter that was delicious and stuffed fried olives that I could eat a dozen of!!! I ordered the rigatoni with braised beef and my husband ordered a noodle I have never heard of that's made in house and it's a wide long noodle like lasagna but with out the weird edges and a million times better. It was made with a cream sauce and local mushrooms. I ate half of mine and half of his it was absolutely amazing. The wife noodle was made and cooked to perfection. The texture was soft but hearty at the same time. They both had the right amount of sauce and I can't wait to eat there again. It has an eclectic vibe with decent lighting.

Yelp
Great spot - we hadn't been back since they finished the bar expansion and it was very nice. Delicious food and wonderful service. My only very minor feedback was on their chunky ice in their cocktails. Felt like it was watering down the drinks and was not attractive.
google avatar

Gina M.

Yelp
Great service, amazing food, prices a little high, and ambiance could use improvement. With that being said, we enjoyed the food and our service was great. I know it's Farm to table but I feel like they could come down $3-4 on each side dish and pasta dishes at least. However, the noise level was our real disappointment. It's loud and can be packed full and seating is a little close. Normally I'd have pictures of every dish but the lady next to me was a little too close and I felt like she kept looking over at us as it was.
google avatar

Dalayna F.

Yelp
Disappointed. I came to have a nice dinner yet after an hour, still not here. I am at the bar, so it's only me. I did order their special but it shouldn't take this long for spaghetti and meatballs. still waiting .........

Yelp
The restaurant was highly recommended by a friend so decided to try it. When we walked in the door we could smell cigar smoke. Didn't know if someone was smoking in the bar. After we got seated, the odor eventually went away. Our server wasn't very knowledgeable about the menu. We started with the Arancini and it was excellent. I ordered a salad and it was good. Someone ordered the pork chop and thought it was a little overcooked. I ordered the gnocchi and it was a little tough but ok. It may have been a bad night. I may give them another try. I loved the ambience of the restaurant.

Yelp
Always fresh both when it comes to the menu and the cuisine. We are always excited to see what they do next.

Yelp
I was visiting Tulsa on business and happened to find this restaurant during my stay. It was by far the best meal I had all week. The restaurant is adorable and the service was outstanding. You could feel the love that went into the food and experience. Plus, Handmade pasta and decadent desserts will steal my heart every time. The experience was upscale yet homey. If I am ever in Tulsa again, I look forward to returning here.

Maya J.

Yelp
Quite disappointed. Loved the ambiance and the drinks, but felt that the menu was lacking in options and the food was mediocre and underseasoned. Very unimpressed by the service. It took 25 minutes for us to get a glass of wine and a martini. We had to remind our waiter multiple times to bring us a dessert menu and refill our water. We told our waiter at the beginning that one of us was vegan and we would need help finding options on the menu. We had to ask for help on this multiple times and we ended up being served a dessert that was not vegan. Left feeling unsatisfied and disappointed, especially as we were trying to celebrate a new job. Really wanted to love it, will not be returning.

Yelp
We have been there several times, and very satisfied with the dining experience, including the meals, drinks and service. I do however agree with many reviewers when it comes to the bread, it should be complimentary as it is in the majority of italian restaurants. Given the size of the restaurant and how busy it can get, reservations are a must.

Susan F.

Yelp
Best Italian, best food, best ambience in Tulsa! Beautiful new bar. You won't regret it!

Christine M.

Yelp
Everything from service to food was phenomenal! Teran was our server/bartender and was so personable and attentive. She and the manager Ella were very kind and helpful in suggesting drinks/food. Highly recommend!!!

Brian H.

Yelp
Food was good and drinks were okay. To the credit of our server, she gave ample warning about the cocktail being a little different in that it was infused with aged cheese; my wife ordered it and I tried it, neither of us thought much of it. We had an excellent server who gave good guidance on their offerings. I didn't care a lot for the ambiance of the place as far as a "date night" venue for a romantic evening. I like that they're trying to bring some different cuisine to Tulsa. I'd agree with other reviews about the noise level in that it's really loud but maybe that was just the party next to us.

Stephanie E.

Yelp
Had dinner at il Seme on a Wednesday night, and it was packed! The decor was very comfortable and cozy, and the staff were all super friendly. The cocktail list was on fire!! Can't wait to go back and try more.

Yelp
I LOVE THIS BAR AND GRILL. Me and the ole ball n chain will be there tomorrow to eat a billion noodles. And two days from now we'll hold each other as we cry because we have to say goodbye to the wonderful food as it passes through our bodies.

Yelp
Nothing like dropping $100+ for my wife and I to eat and still having to get a burger on the way home. Atmosphere was good. Food was mediocre with incredibly small portions. Service could have been better.
google avatar

Princess H.

Yelp
Thanks for whoever canceled their reservation which allowed my family to take their spot. The food was absolutely delicious. We weren't given any bread but it was fine by us. We had the pizzeta(margarita pizza) and Brussels spouts as apps. Wowwwww. So flavorful. Whish the spouts could be charred a bit more, but still very yummy. We had 3 pasta dishes that were small potions but plenty of flavor. 1 cocktail, 2 cocktails came to $130. Lil pricey but def memorable for a bday. They even gave the birthday girl a gelato sundae. Thanks Ella for the fabulous service and past recommendations

Yelp
il seme is the newest addition to the culinary endeavors of Lisa Becklund & Linda Ford. The integrity of ingredients and warmth of service mirror Living Kitchen and FarmBar with a genuine Italian menu that satisfies even the harshest of Italian food critics (aka my spouse). With a great downtown location (albeit tricky to find parking), food + beverage lists to please each palate, attractive pricing, on-point ambience, and impeccable waitstaff, il seme is one of the better establishments serving Italian fare in Tulsa.

Td I.

Yelp
The food was one of the best Italian that I ve had. The chef & service was great. The location is small & quaint so should have a reservation . Highly recommend.
google avatar

Brint L.

Yelp
The food was not good. My daughter's meal was terrible. When I complained about our pasta entrees having very little sauce, I was told by the owner "that is the way they do it in Italy"! The bill was $300 for the four of us and we had to stop at Whataburger on the way home. Bread is free in most Italian restaurants. It was $8 four four pieces. One of the worst dining experiences I have ever encountered.

Alexa M.

Yelp
Went with a large group and ordered pasta family style to try lots of options, all were very good!

Yelp
I heartily recommend this restaurant. You do need reservations! We shared the caprese to start, and it was PHENOMENAL with the added Porter peaches. Our main course dishes were Gnocchi al Funghi, which our server paired excellently with a delicious red wine, and Capellini con Gamberino. Both dishes were fantastic. The ambiance was intimate a but not too formal or stuffy.
google avatar

Brooke L.

Yelp
It was our first time at il seme last night, and we already can't wait to come back. We were offered complimentary apple cider and it was fantastic, whatever spices that were used in it really amplified the taste. The ambiance is magical and intimate - it kind of felt like time stopped for an hour while we dined. The menu changes frequently, which makes it a great spot to keep coming back to. We would love to try the pizza next time and the meatballs with the marinara dish. One thing we loved was that the owner of the establishment not only was present but also checked on us throughout the meal, which speaks volumes about the quality of il seme. A farm to table gem in downtown Tulsa. Go see for yourself!

Yelp
Visited Tulsa for the first time and this place was insanely delicious!!! Staff are super friendly and the place is super cute, we got a few different plates to try and everything just wow!

Yelp
This is one of Tulsa's best kept secrets. Everything we have eaten here is great. This is a regular for us and hope others give it a try.

Yelp
Great service. Great food. Menu is always changing. So many good things on the menu. It's always hard to decide. Go with friends and just order a bunch of Primis and Secondis to share.

Yelp
An absolutely fabulous restaurant with amazing food and service. I'd highly recommend this fine establishment. Kurt André

Yelp
That was delicious. Every bite was balanced and elegant. All the details were spot-on. Will come back next time I'm in Tulsa. Very kind staff too.

Yelp
Really great meals all around. We love FarmBar and il Seme is an amazing addition to the family. We appreciate this option being ala carte. Lisa and Linda know how to run a restaurant and make impressive food. The attention to detail and service are exceptional. Things to take note of... if your concept of 'Italian food' is based off of Olive Garden or Spaghetti Warehouse, you will be disappointed. However, if your dream job is to be Stanley Tucci's 'bagman' as you traipse across the Italian countryside... this is as close as you'll get in Oklahoma. The Olive all'ascolana and crostini were fantastic. We loved the Sfoglia... so many laminations. The cavatelli was excellent. Fantastic wine selection. Limited cocktail menu and bar (ie they probably can't/won't make you an LIT and they don't have Jaeger - if that's your jam) but the house cocktails were excellent.

Walter L.

Yelp
Imaginative food, lovingly prepared, with servers determined to make your meal at Il Seme a memorable one. The papardelli were wonderfully al dente (no mean feat for this dish), and everyone had a great time!

Bob L.

Yelp
We were apprehensive based on some of the previous reviews. That was unfounded. This is a handmade pasta restaurant, so yes, the dishes are mainly pasta. Ours was perfectly cooked, had plenty of sauce, and was VERY tasty. My wife and I also loved the olives all'ascolana appetizer. We will return soon, specifically for the pizza and desserts.
google avatar

Brent G.

Yelp
This is a gem of a restaurant on 5th St in downtown Tulsa. It's small and intimate with outstanding Italian food. We especially like the focaccia bread and the pasta was fantastic. I only wish they had bar seating but they converted a former counter service Cajun restaurant.
google avatar

Yelp
We went to ilSeme for my birthday celebration. My favorite meal is Linguine Vongole - which I've eaten throughout Italy on many occasions. I delight in this meal when I find it in the US. Il Seme had the absolute worst linguine Vongole I've ever had. I think the clans were canned - yuk. The other 3 people in my group found their food to be adequate. I also enjoy delicious wine. I found their wine list to be incredibly small. Because of the lack of a substantial wine list, we could not agree on a wine as a group. I ordered wine by the glass which was a bit disappointing. I don't think I'll return.

Lynn F.

Yelp
Having read the article in the local news, we tried il seme on Friday night. The entry was through a side alley and from the rear of the restaurant due to the sidewalk construction. This added to the New York City feeling of the establishment. Pros: The decor was a combination of the old building terrazzo floor and clean modern tables, lamps and walls. The greeter and our waitress were welcoming and quite pleasant. Both were efficient. The bruschetta was quite different, a rectangle of bread with goat cheese, sliced cherry tomatoes and a sprig of basil. Tasty! The tiramisu was good, but I did not ask if it was made in house. Prices were reasonable. Cons: With only about half of the tables filled, the hard surfaces all around raised the noise level to the point that normal conversation was impossible. Interestingly, for an Italian restaurant there was no Cesar salad on the menu. The wine list was small but adequate. However, only one wine from each category was available by a glass pour. The bar menu only listed a few craft cocktails. Although I was able to order a straight bourbon. My linguini Bolognese was disappointing. There was very little meat in the pasta sauce and luckily I had ordered meat balls to be added. The pasta was barely coated with sauce and the overall result was very bland. My partner ordered the pasta with clam sauce. Again the amount of sauce was minimal. It was mostly just pasta. Again it was bland. Bread was not served with the main course. Final assessment, a disappointing experience.
google avatar

Joe G.

Yelp
As owners of two of the most exceptional restaurants in tulsa , I beg you to take a closer look at this menu. The stem heavy kale/rapini salad was inedible!! Too much cheese as well. Cristina was stale. The pastry with prosciutto so disappointing. The meat was so flabby and uncooked. Basil was an unappetizing brown/gray color after cooked. You can get better pastry appetizers at Sam's :( we love local places and have always had amazing food at farm bar. Please get real with your ingredients and add some variety!! Kale and rapini and garlic are not the only vegetables on season.
google avatar

Brooke C.

Yelp
Amazing service and well thought out food! It was fresh and so flavorful. The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxing. The portion size was perfect. The waitstaff was so nice and accommodating. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Had a wonderful dinner party of 7 last night. The ambience is a little wanting but I didn't notice any difficulty with noise as one reviewer mentioned. The menu is small but a good variety of apps and salads. My fettuccine bolognese was fabulous. The pasta was perfect and the ragu ( not the jar kind) on the dish was delicious. Others also loved their meatballs. There were only pasta dishes for main course...some with meat and others without. No meat and veggie main entrees. Had an interesting cannoli and fabulous pavlova for dessert. Our server was new I Think but checked on all our questions. Would definitely return. I would give it a 4.6 if we had a choice.

Yelp
Wonderful service and delicious meal! It was tough to find the entrance because of the sidewalk construction but well worth it given the food and friendly service!
