Every time I've come here, I've gotten exactly the same thing - the Pad Kee Mao- and it still hits every time. The food is always so mouthwateringly perfect which the right combo of spice and savory, soft and crunch. My bonus points are awarded for the tofu which is always so crispy and flavorful - never cold and soggy. They have the option to up the spice, and considering I have a pretty high spice tolerance, their highest extra spicy version really is spicy! I recommend getting it normal spicy and asking for their chili oil to adjust as needed. The environment is lovely and great for a one-on-one or small group situation. Note that it does get busy here often, but the dine in experience is much better than take out, so do account for some wait time.

This was the very first restaurant I tried after arriving in Berkeley, and I chose it based on the great reviews. I’m glad to say it didn’t disappoint! The place usually gets busy after 5:30 pm, so you need to sign in your name on the queue system outside. If you arrive a bit earlier, the wait is generally short, though during peak hours it can take longer. The service was fast and efficient, and the staff were friendly. I ordered the spicy fried rice with chicken, Tom Yum soup, and Thai iced tea. All the dishes were delicious. The flavors were rich, well-balanced, and had just the right amount of spiciness without being overwhelming. Overall, a great experience and definitely a spot I’d recommend if you’re in Berkeley.

I ordered pad woon sen (pictured) and my partner ordered pad se ew. Tasted great and a good portion size. If you want more spice, you can ask for chili paste. The staff easily accommodated removing egg from the pad se ew. In general, the waitstaff were efficient and approachable. Service was very fast, though the food came out at different times. However, the gap was only a few minutes, so it's probably just due to limited kitchen counter space and not a big issue to me personally. My partner and I were lucky to be seated immediately, though the restaurant filled up pretty quickly during the lunch rush.

I ordered drunken noodles [pad see ew], & fried tofu appetizer. I am vegan & those are my two favorite things & pretty much the only thing I ever order at Thai restaurants. The drunken noodles are JUST okay. I've had way better. I did not receive fried tofu, I received fried pumpkin & I did not like it. It's sweet & not something I would ever order. Unfortunately I am only in town for work for one night, a short overnight, so I do not have time to walk back there from my hotel, I have to be up very early in the morning for a flight. This way a pretty expensive meal for not enjoying it. What a bummer.

Love the food, there was a bit of a wait, but it was well worth it!! I got the crispy chicken as my entree and for dessert I got the sticky rice with mango. I highly recommend it. Portions were good and the fresh ingredients were amazing and hit the spot. The atmosphere is cute and the staff is friendly.

Came here with a friend on a Friday night, it was quite a crowd, had around 30-40 mins of waiting. We had Moo Ping as appetizers, Kua Gai and Green Curry as mains and they all came together in about 5 mins of waiting. They’re all very tasty! We were very full! Definitely recommended if you like southeast asian food! Excited to be back sometime in the future!

The food was exceptionally good. The wait time was not bad for a crowded Sunday evening. The Spicy eggplant, Pas kee map and ginger tea were really good. We got outdoor seating which worked out better, inside seating was loud.

We ordered takeout from this place and got their Grilled Chicken Satay, Spicy Pork Pad Se Ew, and Spicy Beef Pad Kee Mao. The chicken satay was good, and the flavor was nice and well-seasoned. Both the Pad Se Ew and Pad Kee Mao were just ok. The ingredients were fresh, but the flavor was lacking overall. The noodles weren't fried well, so they had a mushy texture. Besides, we ordered both dishes spicy, but they had no heat at all, very mild and leaning toward more toward the sweet side.

I went here on a solo date and it did not disappoint. I walked-in with no reservation, got immediately seated. I contemplated between the pad Thai and crispy pork with Chinese broccoli. My friendly server recommended the pork. That's what I ended up getting. Her recommendation did not disappoint! My food came out quick, probably less than 10 minutes after ordering. Everything was cooked to perfection, from the crispy hot pork to tender broccoli and soft steamy rice. This dish alone makes me want to come back for more! I also had a Thai iced tea to wash it all down. 10 out of 10 recommend this spot if you want yummy Thai food!

Imm Thai is one of my favorite restaurants in Berkeley, known for its attentive service and consistently high-quality food. My go-to order is pad kee mao with beef. The noodles arrive fresh from the wok, infused with the bold heat of Thai chili and aromatic herbs. Each bite delivers a punch of spice and smoky flavor that wakes up the taste buds. The duck noodle dish leans slightly sweet, but the duck itself is tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked with the fresh vegetables.

There's so many Thai options in Berkeley, but this was one of the most recommended. We came on a Friday right at opening (11:30AM) and there was no line. -Su Kho Thai (4/5): we knew we wanted a noodle soup and the duck noodles were the most recommended but we were really intrigued by the spicy and sour broth of the Su Kho Thai so we decided to give it a shot. Since we had a toddler, we requested mild instead of medium spice. It was really delicious! The sourness was a nice relief from the salt and sweetness of the other dishes. If you like tom yum, you'll like this! The toppings were really unique, like the ground pork and fried pork skin. The cha siu was a little dry through. -Pad se ew with chicken (5/5): one of the best pad se ew's I've ever had! The noodles were the perfect consistency and the seasoning was spot on (not too sweet or salty). -Thai iced tea (4/5): solid, husband thought it could have been a tad sweeter though. Overall definitely one of the top Thai places in the Berkeley area. Excited to come back and try more dishes!

Imm Thai is a Berkeley staple and I am glad that it is still operating and thriving throughout these years. This Thai restaurant has always been a popular dining option and for many great reasons. Their food is really packed with flavor - one of the tastiest Thai food I've been to. I ordered the Cashew Chicken and Pad See Ew. From the color of the Pad See Ew, you can already tell how savory it looks. Tender chicken, umami-rich and sweetened soy sauce noodles - delicious! Likewise, the Cashew Chicken also has a flavorful bite. Variety of texture, nuttiness from the cashews, deep savoriness with a gentle sweetness - really is an underrated dish. The only reason why I rated this place a 4/5 is because of the price and portion size.

Everyone's having a blast inside and holding conversations over delicious food. Their portions aren't huge here but don't let it deceive you. It gets super filling. The curries were phenomenal over rice. Their glass noodle salad was also fantastic, it was light, refreshing and flavorful. Good vibes only! Parking might be a challenge and there might be some wait time but they're worth it!

Great vegan options. Got the yellow curry and then the pad see ew, great choices. Overall the quality was solid and satisfying. I'd be very down to return and try more of their menu. A great choice if you're craving comforting, flavorful Thai street food.

Loved dining at Imm Thai with my boyfriend. We got the Pad Kee Mao and Pad Thai (both with beef), as well as the mango sticky rice. My boyfriend has never had drunken noodles before so I was really excited for him to try it! He commented on how well spiced the Pad Kee Mao is and how tender the beef was in both of our dishes. He wasn't a big fan of the vegetable options and how they went with the texture and flavor of the dish, but I liked the quality and freshness of their bell peppers/green beans a lot. Their noodle dishes are very flavorful. The mango sticky rice was tasty and the mango was also very sweet and succulent! We ate outside just to save time on the waitlist, but we never felt neglected by our servers. They came out to tend to the other parties as well.

Imm Thai is so good! I have only tried the take away/delivery. I've had them three times in the last two months. And everything has been excellent. If you ask for spicy you get a little spicy. Big bold basil flavors in the basil dishes. Sweet Chili chicken IMO is like an improved general Tsos chicken that doesn't get soggy. Pad Thai is fine. Everything else is so much better tho. Love it.

We got the tom yum, pad thai, and the yum woon sen salad. Everything was good and I thought the portions were a decent size for the price. It was a little busy when we got there but there are seatings inside and out. The tom yum was on the more sour side so be cautious of that but I personally like that and I think it went great with the rice. The pad thai was sweet and flavorful and I really liked the salad, it was refreshing with all the right textures and flavor profiles.

Not too busy during lunchtime. Considering it's street food the food comes out pretty fast. All of our dishes came out at the same time. We ordered: - pad see ew: huge portions, we had to take half of it home. Marinated pretty well and a good portion of meat and vegetables. A little on the salty side but overall good flavor. - duck over rice: duck portion was pretty small. The skin was a little fatty and the marinade was very light. Pairs well with the sauce. I like the rice with the braised marinade. - papaya salad: on the sweeter side, pretty good portions. Was good but not too special. The shrimp was a little overcooked on top. - Pad kee mao: Huge portions and the vegetables are good pretty well. Also took half of this home with us.

Decently affordable Thai spot that is good for family style. They pride themselves in not using msg so all the flavors are natural. I think they have overall good flavors and wouldn't mind going back to try a few more dishes. They have really great service. They have indoor and outdoor dining and their waitlist moves pretty quick.

Berkeley staple! Came here for a friend's birthday dinner with a party of 9. They don't take reservations and you can only join the Yelp waitlist in person, but when we arrived on a Sunday around 7pm, we were seated almost immediately (probably because school was not in session yet). I ordered the Green Curry and Sticky Rice with Mango. Green curry (3.5/5): Flavorful and the vegetables were cooked well but it was a bit salty. Also, the portion size was a bit small - would have liked more curry as the rice to curry ratio felt a bit unbalanced. Not very filling Sticky Rice with Mango (5/5): Amazing! Probably one of the best mango sticky rice dishes I've ever had. The mango was ripe and sweet and the rice was cooked just right. Very loud and chaotic restaurant but the food came out fast. Next time, I'd skip the curry and get the noodles instead and definitely the mango sticky rice

A cozy restaurant located in the heart of downtown Berkeley that specializes in Thai Street Food. I came on a Saturday evening and it was super busy, however, the line moved quickly. They have an open kitchen and you are able to see the chefs cooking quickly, all the food came out in a timely manner. We ordered the roti, summer rolls, pad thai, and moo deng. All the food was delicious and freshly made. The standout was the roti that was paired with a buttery yellow curry and the pad thai had the perfect amount of sweetness and savory.

My favorite Thai food and only thai place I been to the green curry has a good coconut and tangy flavor and it goes well with roti and the pad thai has a nice and strong peanut taste and I crave it everyday my only complaint about the place is that I wish there was spice or a way to say your spice level because that would make the curries and noodles a lot more flavorful but other than that great place to get Thai food just note that this place gets busy in weekends and prime lunch or dinner times so make sure to come early or you would have to wait a long time to get seated

Chicken basil with white rice was the worst meal I've ever had.Unrecognizable bits of chopped chicken and the whole dish tasted like sucking on a licorice stick. Awful. Wont be back

This place was super popular and busy when we got here, and I can see why! Came here on a Friday for dinner and it wad packed. You put your name down on the waitlist via their kiosk out front. It took us about 30 minutes to get seated even with just a party of 2. We sat outside, which I highly recommend if there's pretty weather. We were in a rush, so we had our orders ready to go as we sat down -- our waitress was super nice about getting our orders in quickly which we appreciated so much! I got the Pad See Ew with Chicken, and the portions are huge! Definitely could be shared and be very full. The noodles were nice and chewy, well-flavored, and plentiful! The chicken was cooked well too, and the veggies were nice and crunchy. This really hit the spot, and I look forward to coming back and trying more of their delicious menu!

This looked like a very popular spot with tons of great reviews; my husband has visited a few years ago and hyped it up to me as well, so we finally decided to try it together. I'm pretty simple, I normally just get a basic Pad Thai, so I ordered the Pad Thai with chicken ($15). I'll also give them credit for having reasonable prices. But the pad thai was just completely bland. It looked coated with a fair amount of sauce, so no idea what was up with that. But I honestly struggled to eat this when it had almost no flavor. My husband ordered the Yen Ta Foh ($16) which should've come spicy (and he's kinda weak when it comes to spice), but both of us agreed that it wasn't spicy at all. It's possible they just forgot to add in the spice here, but it's kinda wild that both our dishes completely flopped on flavor. The only thing that did actually have flavor, was the Thai Iced Coffee ($5) that we found to be way too sweet for our liking. Overall, the experience was pretty disappointing given the hype, so I'm probably just scratching this off my list.

We were in a rush for lunch and found this place nearby our hotel. We saw when we drove by earlier that this restaurant was super packed so we figured it would be good as well. We ordered a very flavorful pumpkin curry and remarkably fast service for a pickup order. I would definitely buy from here again.

I've heard a lot of my friends recommend this place so me and my coworkers decided to go. Quite a long wait, it's rather busy. We waited about half an hour before we were able to get a table. The waitlist is through yelp at the front. I needed to flag a server when I got notified that our table was ready because there isn't much of a host. We waited an additional 15 minutes before we were seated when our table was ready. Very small place, not much room so makes sense why it was difficult to get a table. We ordered a few dishes but the server had a difficult time hearing us so some of the dishes did not come to the table and forgot it was ordered. We ended up cancelling the pork since we sat over an hour and it never came. The fried rice was quite good, super flavorful and the pad see ew noodles were soft and chewy. The mango sticky rice was hard to eat, which sucked because I really looked forward to it. The mangos were sour and hard and the rice was overcooked. We were not table touched at all so couldn't ask for the missing dish until we were almost done. I know it was quite busy so I get that. The thai tea tasted rather watered down. Loved the roti with yellow curry- was a great appetizer. The roti was crispy and the yellow curry was packed with flavor and we all wanted another! I think overall has potential, maybe it was because it was so busy there wasn't much of a chance to try the food to its full potential. I'd give it another try

I've had two separately Berkeley friends bring me here, so you know it's the spot. There's always a line, so expect to wait, but it moves quickly. They have indoor and some outdoor seating, and a mix of chairs or stools to sit on. I ordered the Su Kho Thai and my friend got the vegetarian Yen Ta Foh. It's great because they can turn any noodles vegetarian. Such a unique and delicious blend of flavors, I would definitely want to try some of their other dishes. It's cute inside and always has a buzz-- I'll be back!

Since we pass by this place so often we finally decided to give it a try. We came on a Sunday around 3pm somewhat of a wait but not too bad. For food we ordered Sween Chicken, Kao Kha Moo and Kua Gai Noodles. Honestly my review is going to be a bit mixed. The Sween Chicken was terrible, the pieces were cut so small that when they fried the chicken they became super dry and we maybe got a tiny chicken thigh worth of meat and a scoop of rice for $15? 0/5 flavor/texture. On then other hand, the Kao Kha Moo was very tender and cooked well again my gripe is going to be portion size for $17 the amount of food you get was a little lackluster. 4/5 flavor Finally the Kui Gai noodles, this was a pleasant surprise because it had the wok flavor that I'm always looking for in my noodles and had an okay amount of seafood (2 shrimp, 2 squid, 1 baby octopus) 5/5 flavor Overall, I think noodles and maybe the fried rice dishes looked to be the best bang for your buck; the prices they charge don't exactly fit the amount of food you're getting, but maybe it's just Berkeley? Our waitress never came back aside from asking us if we wanted dessert before promptly walking away. My review is based on the food and not the service though. Service: 2/5 Food: 3/5 Value: 3/5

Oh I love this place! For every single dish we ordered, I was not disappointed. I even asked a to go box to pack the last couple drops of the green curry sauce for roti. My favorite is the su kho Thai (pork noodle soup) The price is very reasonable for the portion we got. Service was minimal, tables are small, but I honestly don't care. I would come again and again to try other items on their menu

Amazingly flavorful Thai food in the Bay at such an affordable price! My friend and I had lunch at Imm on a beautiful Sunday and we were seated almost immediately even though it was pretty busy. Service was quick and friendly. I had the Pad Kee Mao with mild spice (I'll try medium next time if I'm feeling brave!) and I was so impressed by the large portion for just $15! The veggies were fresh and added a wonderful texture to contrast the silky rice noodles. I loved the basil flavor in my dish. My friend ordered the Pad See Ew which was a sweeter alternative that was also delicious. I would definitely come back to try more items from their menu - it will be hard not to get the same thing again though!

My wife and I frequent this place often. The food has been delicious each time. Yes, you may have to wait to get a table. However, the food is most definitely worth the wait. Everything comes out hot and tasty. Also, the food is always consistent. I knew this because I order the same dish each time...lol. I love the Pad See Eww with chicken. If you haven't fired this experience, please do. I highly recommend it.

This is a busy and hopping little joint, even at off hours. But though I like Thai, I wasn't that enthused about the food. I ordered the basil rice plate, which said it comes with green beans and bell peppers. And it did (some Thai places believe in improvising rather than sticking to the menu), but not as appetizingly as that sounds. I found myself facing a sea of extremely crunchy bits of green beans, plus some crunchy strips of red bell pepper, all in a sea of very spicy sauce, with not much hint of basil. The addition I put in for was seafood, which proved to consist of a fair amount of rather tasteless calamari (one very large piece of which proved unchewable), two shrimp, and a mussel. It just wasn't particularly tasty. Lump of very sticky rice on the side was good.

My favorite Thai food place in Berkeley! I love taking all my friends from out of town to this place. The restaurant itself is super homey and has a great ambiance for catching up with friends. My personal favorite dish of theirs is their Pad Kee Mao, which is perfectly spicy and has a great assortment of toppings. Their other dishes here are great too from their Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, their curries, and chicken dishes. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a Thai place in the area!

Street food sampling was delicious and great value of meal! Really flavorful dishes. Staff were also friendly and efficient. Overall a 4.5/5 review and would recommend. Between two people, 4 shared appetizers was the right amount for medium hungry. The entrees looked huge! 5/5 - Tom Kha coconut soup had amazing flavor with basil, coconut, citrus and fresh veggies. The side size bowl is generous. 5/5 - Crispy Pumpkin squash pieces with a sweet peanut sauce were tasty. Super crisp, hot and freshly prepared while not being oily. 4/5 - Papaya Salad vegetarian style was fresh. The sauce was mild spicy and overall pretty good. The lettuce was large and awkward. 3.5/5 - Chicken Satay Skewers came with a slightly nutty sauce, though texture of chicken itself was a bit tough, not tender or juicy. Came with some pickled veggies. It's a pretty busy location so use the tablet waitlist and then walk around nearby. Since food is churned out efficiently, table turnover is reasonable. We probably waited 30-40 min on a Saturday night.

I used to get takeout here during the pandemic and I am glad to say the quality has held up years later. I dined in for the first time recently and it was pretty busy during lunchtime on a weekend. When we joined the waitlist it displayed a 140+ min wait, but we were actually seated after only 5 minutes, so maybe they hadn't been updating/removing parties from the list? Definitely odd timing, but we got lucky because we were about to bail on dining in and order food to-go. Tables and walkways inside are pretty narrow and the restaurant extends pretty far back. The roti with curry dip was pretty good, and the roti had a very noticeable butter taste. The pad see ew is textbook for me, delicious char flavor and everything cooked perfectly -- no notes! My boyfriend ordered the kua gai noodle dish which is similar to pad see ew but tasted a bit sweeter and came with seafood, sauce on the side, and was topped with a layer of egg. Neither of us had tried that dish before since we are kinda basic when it comes to ordering Thai food but we liked it! Overall the food is great quality here.

I wanted some Thai food but didn't have time to sit down so I ordered a pad Thai to go. The waitress rung me up right away and told me it would be around 15min, so I circled the block before coming back. Once my order was ready (they gave me a little pager to let me know), the waitress remembered me and handed it to me straight away. The pad Thai was pretty good and had a huge portion. I was full and I still had a small portion that I could eat the next day. The flavor was good but I wish it was slightly more acidic/had more lime in it. I also didn't realize they didn't add tofu to the dish either. Overall was a good meal and satisfied my hunger.

So let's discuss.... Imm Thai Street Food has good tasting food, but the service was not good, felt rushed, the waitress was borderline rude and attitudinal. The ambiance wasn't the best and the restaurant was exceptionally crusty, old, and needs a major overhaul. The restaurant is very petite and quaint which is all the more reason why it needs to be extra clean, maintained and well kept. Generally, based upon it's inner upkeep, I would have never purchased a meal there, but because one of my good and trusted friend's championed their food, I followed through with her recommendation once we were seated. That said, there are some serious upgrades that can happen, but the pad se ew was extra tasty. Not sure that I'll be back, but if they remodel, I'm there! 4 stars for food. 1 star for ambiance. Giving a 2 star review.

Went here for lunch with my co-workers. I ordered the eggplant rice plate with chicken. It was flavorful. Next time I will try their noodles. My co-worker ordered pad Thai with tofu and that dish looked really good. I also like their egg rolls. They are hot and crispy. The service here was ok, it was a bit awkward because they didn't bring all of the food into together, so 2 of us had our meal and 1 person was still waiting to eat. They are usually busy here, as they are close to the UC Berkeley campus and have lots of students coming and going. I'd eat here again.

I love imm Thai, probably my fav Thai place in the Bay Area! I also love that they have so many veggie options and substitutes that you can pick. I got the pad see ew and it was so yummy and flavorful. I also loved the spring rolls, everything was super fresh and made on the spot. Staff was friendly, even when it got busy they were attentive and quick. There's indoor and outdoor seating, can get crowded though.

Service was great--fast and friendly. Pro tip: hop on the waitlist from your phone before you arrive to avoid a long wait, especially during peak hours when it gets busy. The vibe is relaxed and casual--no dress code--so it's an easy spot to drop by anytime and hang out. I'd definitely come back to try more of their Thai favorites. Loved it!

We were thrilled and delighted at the delicious food that we had here. Spicy papaya salad was perfect. The spicy fried rice with tofu was off the charts with flavor especially lots of great basil flavor same with the Pad Kee Mao. Perfect noodles. The crispy fried pumpkin was good too, but it was a little bit on the greasy side. All in all a big home run and I can see why this place is packed full all evening. I totally get it and we were happy to get a to-go for tomorrow as well

Everything was just ok here, in my opinion--a bit on the salty side for my taste and the flavor profile isn't as rich as I'd hoped. I was also hoping for more "street food" style dishes, but most of the menu seemed typical of any other Thai restaurant, and even so I wasn't impressed by what I had. Overall, not standout, but not bad.

Imm Thai is clearly a local favorite that offers a wide variety of Thai dishes from noodles, to curries to rice dishes. We came on a Saturday for lunch and it was bustling! Luckily we beat the lunch rush at 11:30 and was able to get seated immediately. There aren't too many tables and it's a little tight inside. We ordered the pad thai and the yen ta foh. The pad Thai was solid the noodles had a great texture and it was well balanced in flavor. The only thing it was missing for me was the lime wedge usually served with this dish. The portions are huge so two people can easily share this one entree. The yen ta foh had a bunch of toppings like squid and fishballs. They were able to make it mild for me since I can't handle spice and it was perfect. The broth was tomatoe-y and they used the same type of noodles as the pad see ew which weren't my favorite because it gave the soup a mushy texture. Street parking is not impossible to find you may just have to do some loops and walk to the restaurant. Overall I would say Imm Thai is decent. It's not the best Thai food I've had but it's certainly not the worst. It would totally fulfill the craving and love the large portion sizes!

The worse Thai food in the Bay Area..I have posted reviews but they keep removing it. The Padthai noodles, Thai fried rice and pad se were so watery and soggy. so disappointed.

Pumpkin Curry Delicious!! Nice portion would have it again. Egg Rolls Crispy perfection, tasty filling and Sauce. Stove Hot upon delivery!! All topped off with a Lagunitas and Siingha. Place felt full and rocking on a Friday at 4pm with lotsa chatter and warm dining appreciation. I found this one on Yelp, can't wait to go back. Great service friendly, fast and efficient. The food here is pretty good, and honestly, I'd definitely come back--next time the Pad Kee Mow is calling my name. Heads up: there's a Yelp waitlist, so get there early if you don't want to wait too long. Totally worth it though! The papaya salad was refreshing, but whew--it's got that real Thai spice kick . Perfect with a Thai iced tea to cool down. Here's what we ordered: Pad Thai with Chicken Yeh Ta Fo Papaya Salad Mango Sticky Rice Would I go back? Yup. Berkeley food scene just keeps winning.

One of my favorite Thai restaurants! This was my first time eating there, we usually get it for to go but it was fast and friendly service and food is delicious. My pad see ew was very flavorful and yummy. My friend got the pad Thai and thought it was lacking a little flavor but overall still great and solid Thai restaurant

Not sure what happened here. It was honestly one of the best Thai food I had years ago. Popularity wise everything was the same. It was constantly busy and people were stuck waiting. Flavor wise was a different story because that went downhill for me. I thought thai spicy was supposed to be spicy? It only looked red but nothing more. The chicken pad thai was bland too. The Thai iced coffee was overly sweet too. Definitely missed a few marks for us but YMMV!

Most of what we had was good and tasty. Reasonably priced. Went there off hours as there always seems to be a line out the door--probably due to the fact it is priced right and it is a small space. The floors and tables did not seem too clean, so was hoping this did not translate into their sanitation of the food prep area... The 1st thing we ordered was the fresh rolls -- which were anything but..., it was clearly made in advance and dried out/stale with mostly lettuce for the filling. The pad se ew was a stand out, along with the duck. Service was relaxed and no real ambiance with uncomfortable seating. Would come back to again, however probably do a takeaway.

I don't know a lot about Thai culture but I've eaten my fair share of Thai food in many cities. This popular eatery located in the heart of UCB's food eateries imo does fantastic job of bringing a side Thailand that I've not experienced. As I understand Thai food is supposed to be a balance of spicy, sweet, and sour. For me this place leans a lil more to the sour side. It's good but slightly different for my palate. But I encourage everyone to try them out. At lunch time be ready to wait or make reservations! But not to worry. I thought the food would come out slowly but I was wrong. With only 2 servers they were lightening fast. She even picked up an empty water bottle from my hand while I was looking the wrong direction! Amazing service!!!

Came here on a Tuesday night at 6pm and we're the 6th in line. After around 20 mins we were seated inside. We loved the Tom Yum soup! It's a must if you like something soupy, spicy, tangy and savory. The Pad kee mao was flavorful and I also liked the mild flavor of the thai fried rice though i found the texture of the fried rice too mushy and clumpy. The portion was very generous; after we shared our soup, we were able to finish only maybe half of the portion. Service was the bare minimum, but acceptable for this price point and food quality. I felt that the servers were trying to turn as many table as possible so my experience there was a bit rush.

Not so hidden gem! I never stopped by this place when I lived in the east bay and that's a shame. I had a great dining experience here recently. Join the waitlist if you can. It was surprisingly packed around 3pm. The service is friendly and warm. The food is sooo flavorful (I got the green curry). It came out quickly as well and was hot. Prices are very reasonable. Parking on University is notoriously tough. Meters only.

A very affordable Thai restaurant that is also delicious! This Thai restaurant is small and it gets packed very quick which is understandable because the food is so good. The service was super fast, our food only took about 5-10 minutes after ordering. *Kua Gai - this was my first time eating this dish. Although it seemed overwhelming with all the protein, it was definitely worth your buck. Every bite you take there is always some sort of protein from chicken to calamari. There was a nice crisp from the egg and a nice sauce that wasn't salty. *Papaya salad - the papaya salad was spicy. For those who like spice, it's for you. It was still very enjoyable. The nice tangy taste and crunchy texture. *Roti with dip - very thin and flakey. The roti was crispy and did not leave your fingers feeling greasy. We paired it with the yellow curry and it was good! Roti will always be my favorite appetizers and it is always a safe option at every Thai restaurant I have been to. *pad see ew (beef) - a nice soy sauce flavor that did not overwhelm the noodles and beef. A lot of Thai restaurants I've been to also would make their pad se ew pretty oily, I'm surprised here was not too oily nor was it too dry. A nice middle ground that still kept flavor in the dish. *pad Thai (chicken) - honestly, one of my favorite pad Thais. Other restaurants would overly sauce the pad Thai which makes the noodles very mushy or would make their pad Thai sauce too sweet. Here, the pad Thai was still sweet but not straight up sugar, there is some savory to it. The noodles were not drenched in sauce but the noodles weren't dry as well. Similar to the pad see ew. My favorite dish out of all! Overall, I would recommend coming here if you're around the area! Go early to beat the wait since it is a small restaurant. I could honestly eat an entire entree if I was hungry but you can also share if you want to taste a lot of their foods!

Came with my brother on a Friday evening around 9PM after moving him out for winter break. There was surprisingly still a 10 minute wait an hour before closing. We were seated towards the back of their rustic little restaurant right next to the pass, so we got a nice view of the finishing touches for each dish and the added benefit of our food being piping hot. We started with the roti with orange curry, which was flaky, chewy, and flavorful. I had the kana moo krob, which featured bite-size pieces of pork belly that somehow remained crunchy while absolutely drowning in a thin and almost too salty sauce alongside steam(ing) rice, Chinese broccoli, and more than enough garlic. My brother tried the yen ta foh, which featured an assortment of seafood in a spicy noodle soup. The broth was nicely light and spicy, with a nice crunch from the wonton chips on top. We shared a mango sticky rice for dessert, with warm coconut rice and mango that we both found a bit too hard for our liking. Still a solid Thai option in Berkeley that I wouldn't mind returning to in the future, and certainly one that was easier on the wallet for all of the items we got + a drink ($65 after tip).
