11 Essential Ramen Shops in San Jose and the South Bay - Eater SF

"Hailing from New York City, Ippudo is a chain known for top-tier tonkotsu ramen. The pork broth, which is slow-boiled for more than 20 hours, is distinctly silky and savory. Customers most often order the Akamaru Modern, Ippudo’s signature ramen made with the shop’s original pork broth that’s enhanced with a special blended piquant akamaru paste and fragrant garlic oil. You also can’t go wrong with the other ramen offerings, like the Karaka Spicy or Yuzu Shoyu, which embody classic Japanese ramen flavors with a twist." - Paolo Bicchieri, Cathy Park

Ippudo Review - Soma - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Like Marufuku in Japantown, Ippudo is a ramen chain worthy of your time. You customize noodle firmness, on a scale ranging from yawa (soft) to bari kata (firm), which is what sets this SoMa spot apart. The route you take is all about personal preference, but always go firm, since the noodles will cook a bit more in the soup. Tonkotsu broth is their specialty—the Karaka, a spicier version of the creamy original, is a foolproof order. And if you’re someone who gets hot and bothered at the sound of slow-simmered pork belly chashu, they put it on everything here." - Julia Chen

Google
Nice Ramen restaurant with cozy interior space. Ippudo in Cupertino delivers a satisfying ramen experience in a warm and inviting setting. The interior is tastefully decorated, with wooden accents and soft lighting that create a relaxed, modern Japanese vibe — perfect for both solo diners and small groups.

Had a wonderful and tasty dinner with friends. The ramen was excellent and the starters were great. Service was welcoming and hospitable. I'll come back to try more dishes from the menu. We had a great time.

Here’s a possible review: Visited this place recently and tried the Akamaru Modern, Veggie Shiromaru Classic, Pork Bun, and Veggie Bun. The ramen flavors were some of the best I’ve had—rich, flavorful, and satisfying! The interior decor was really nice and added to the dining experience. The service was excellent; the servers were kind, and everything was served quickly, which was great. However, I did find the portions a bit small—my ramen felt like half a bowl. For the price, which is on the higher side, a bit more quantity would make it perfect. The parking could be an issue if you are looking to park in the complex, however there’s a multi level parking garage besides as well. Overall, great flavors and atmosphere, just wish the portions matched the price!

Google
Tried the spicy vege miso ramen and honestly, was average. It is on the expensive side, but not really worth the price. And despite being labeled spicy, the ramen was somewhat bland. Even adding Bakudon didn’t help much. The service was really prompt and attentive.

Google
Amazing options in Vegetarian Ramen too. Could have been much spicier. Pro tip: If you take level 6 spice in Ramen Nagi ask them for more spicy ramen.

Google
The crispy corn was room temperature. Never have I had room temperature roasted corn before. The quantity of the ramen has reduced by half?? I ordered spicy miso and they gave me veggie spicy miso? When I asked about it they gave me the same ramen with chashu instead. Lol

Google
I am not sure why this place is not rated highly. Our experience was great. The food was perfect, everything from spice level to broth texture was authentic. Our waiter was also very courteous and excited to tell us more about different menu items. Recommended!!

Google
The best ramen i've had in sj was ramen nagi but the lines and small menu made me look for a better spot and this place blows it out of the water! The ramen here is better in my opinion with more authentic flavor and the other menu items like the bao buns are fantastic. Ive tried multiple menu items here and have never been disappointed. The service was nice as well and I didn't have to wait very long for my food or to get seats in the place. Would highly recommend. I've tried over 12 different ramen spots in the south bay and this one tops the cake.

Yelp
Servers are so attentive, and this ramen is amazing. The vegetarian (mushroom) broth of the Nirvana ramen is SO flavorful, and of course the pork tonotsu broth is epic. Our server, Alex, was tuned in and anticipated every need. We'll be back for more!

Yelp
06/03/2025 came for lunch on a weekday 12:30. plenty of seats. its a QR menu but didn't really like it since my wifi never works indoors, but at least they have physical menus with tiny pictures. They also give u a fancy looking tissue with their logo... my friends and I had a discussion whether it was worth it. server was very friendly and did check up on us once or twice during dining experience despite having only two servers with a huge lunchtime rush of kids coming in. i ordered the dragon tantan ($20) which came in an unfortunate plastic bowl. I changed the katata thin noodles to thick wavy noodles since i like thicker noodles more. it definitely did not look like the menu picture at all but it did contain all the ingredients listed. lol. so don't worry. I find the broth slightly watery but the slighly spicyness and the raw red onions mask the dilute broth. i also find the massive amount of raw onions does destroy the dish a bit, slightly off-putting. -1 my friend ordered the spicy miso ($26). the broth mixed with the spicy season was pretty good. it does give off a kick. but i do agree with my friend, this ramen was on the pricy scale compared to the tantan bowl. would buy again if it was like $24 overall it was a great experience. definitely on the priceyer side. a nice place to dine out.

Yelp
This was my first time trying Ippudo in the States, and unfortunately, I have to say the overall experience was disappointing. I had the Akamaru ramen and the Brussels sprouts. The noodles were soggy and overcooked, and the broth wasn't hot enough. The Brussels sprouts came with a huge scoop of mayo which was an absolutely overwhelming amount. I tried to remove as much of it as I could, but I still couldn't eat about two-thirds of the dish. The service wasn't bad. They came by to refill my water once. There were plenty of seats available on a weekday night.

Danae L.

Yelp
Great spot for ramen. I had the Karaka Spicy, spicy sauce on the side. I normally prefer thicker ramen but it wasn't bad here. For the standard appetite, I would recommend adding an egg or some form of protein as the chashu may feel insufficient. Service was quick for a Saturday evening.

Yelp
Too expensive, ok ramen. I was first taken aback when I was asked if I wanted an egg in my ramen. What? The $18 price doesn't even include an egg now? Noodle soup came lukewarm. Not hot. No steam. The soup was still good. Ordered Brussel Sprouts. What's with the huge mayo dumped on the top? Maybe have a little mayo on the side for taste? Tip button starts at 18% and 20% is mandatory if your group is 6+. Ippudo is $7-10 if we eat in Japan / Malaysia so why is it $25 ($18 + tip + tax) if we eat it in the US? Oh, by the way, the Japan one comes with an egg for the $7-10 price.

Yelp
We visited on a Monday night and found parking luckily since the plaza parking fills up. We ordered the Shishido peppers and it came with a lemon and powder; they were good. We also ordered the Brussels sprouts with the aioli is a must try!! It had charred and balanced creamy aioli flavors; addictingly good! My yuzu shoyu ramen was really good, the broth was super flavorful and I substituted for the Tokyo wavy noodles which were really good and added corn which added a touch of sweetness. The staff was attentive and friendly! The ambiance was chill and a relaxing date night spot.

Yelp
Hello guys 2nd review here, good service all around + very empty, did not have the crunchy corn that I wanted unfortunately but nonetheless ramen was pretty good, 7/10 see you all in another post

Yelp
Ok Ippudo in Cupertino is something to try out. After all the hype from Tokyo has been significant. So I just had to try it out. Anyways to begin with the parking situation is difficult. There are many stores in the area that are quite popular so it may take a few minutes to find a spot. The restaurant itself was quite small probably about 15 tables. However there are bar seating that add to size of the restaurant. Service was pretty quick and the menu is accessed from a QR code. I ordered the gyoza as appetizer and the Akamaru Modern Ramen. The order took about 6 minutes to arrive. The taste of the broth was very good but I felt it was a touch too salty. Just a touch. The noodles were the thin kind which I love and they were perfectly cooked. The gyoza was also well done with a crispy bottom and quite tasty. Overall a very nice meal. The restaurant was very well decorated and comfortable. This is definitely one of my goto options for a ramen restaurant.

Yelp
Everything we ordered was great. Pot stickers were still hot and crispy. Ramens were great. I've eaten at Ippudo's at New York and San Francisco. Quality is just as great as the other locations. Clean and quiet enough for conversations. Service was fast !

Yelp
GO HERE!! The food is amazing and hits all the right flavor profiles Alex and everyone else who helped us were super nice and gentle. Worth it for sure!

Yelp
Me and friends were on a trip out of town and we found this great ramen shop! Both the food and customer service were amazing! Alex was our server and he was attentive and very pleasant. Fantastic experience and would definitely love to come back!

Yelp
Highly recommend coming in before dinner prime time. We got in around 6 and got seated within 10 minutes. We quickly put in our order because the place got packed within 20 mins around ~6:30pm. Service was okay, we did ask for a water refill several times.. the servers seem to be running around trying to take orders and paying attention to the newly seated tables. Food was good and came out piping hot. I typically don't enjoy ramen as much because it tends to be too rich in flavor and fills me up too quickly that I can't even finish a bowl. But the ramen broth flavor was just enough and the noodles were cooked well. Also, the appetizers chicken karaage and edamame are great items to share.

Yelp
My friend and I came here for a weekday dinner and were seated immediately. Most of the restaurant has a woody interior, and we sat in a slightly isolated area with a wooden booth. The menu was through a QR code, and I ordered the Shiromaru Classic ramen with an egg. My friend ordered the Miso ramen. Our order came out quickly, and my friend and I finished our delicious orders quickly. The broth was not too salty, and I enjoyed the texture of the noodles. I wish there was slightly more pork, and this is the first time I would note that a portion size at Ippudo is quite small (I am full or have leftovers 95% of the time at other restaurants). My friend ended up having to order extra noodles for his broth. The quality of the ramen here is great; I just wish their portions were slightly bigger!

Yelp
Was dreaming about this food for days after. Great vegetarian options. Service was fast and helpful. Ambiance was perfect, great relaxing lunch or dinner spot.

Yelp
The last and only time I've had Ippudo was in New York and I remembered not liking it very much, so I never felt the urge to try it again back in the Bay. Well my friend was recently visiting over Christmas and we really wanted to get karaage, so we ended up here. Let's just say I was pleasantly surprised and this might be my new go to ramen spot in South Bay! First off - the karaage. This was some top tier karaage! Nice and crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. It came with a mentaiko mayo dipping sauce which was great - mayo dipping sauces are my fave kind to go with the karaage. Next - the gyoza. Pretty standard, not super memorable, but I remember it was good. Finally - the karaka spicy ramen. Normally I prefer thicker, chewier noodles but the thin noodles here were actually not bad. It came with a decent amount of meat and I add an egg which was nice and jammy. The thing that made it worthy of going back was that the broth was nice and savory but not too heavy and didn't get too sweet like some other ramen spots in South Bay.

Yelp
Bustling spot in Main Street Cupertino. The food is good here, but value is a touch off. Great: Akamaru Modern Ramen - The broth for this one is delicious. They've got a really good blend of tonkotsu and fragrant oil to make this a rich soup. Noodles are good. The egg was cold on the interior unfortunately, maybe the soup wasn't hot enough to warm up the entirety. Chicken Karaage - really juicy and tender. The mentai mayo is a great accompaniment! Some of the crispy breading was a bit thicker which made it a bit hard to chew on in some parts. Overall really good. My 1 significant gripe about this place is that it's a bit pricy especially for the portion. Each ramen hovers around 20 bucks without the extras like egg. The portion size is definitely on the smaller side, I suppose to reflect their Japanese origins. The meat portion in each one is 2 paper thin slices of chashu. While the food is very good, I'm still not sure it's worth the price since I left feeling a tad unsatisfied. Service was pretty good, but they seemed understaffed so it was a mission for them to keep up with customers. Definitely worth a try if you like ramen. I wouldn't say it's the best value though.

Yelp
My MIL loves this place so I will give it 3-stars. We come here when we crave Ramen as there is never a wait. I personally prefer Ramen Nagi, but the 1-hour+ long wait is a huge turn-off for some people. We ordered the Classic Ramen, Aramaru Ramen, Chicken Karaage, Edamame, and Gyoza. The prices are higher than other Ramen places, but you are in Cupertino. Our bill came out to $135+ after tax and 20% tip.. There is plenty of parking in the adjacent parking garage. Just make sure you remember what floor you park on. The service is poor as we weren't able to hail anyone when we needed help or when we had additional questions. We also had to wait over 10 minutes in order to hail someone just to pay our bill.

Yelp
Delicious! Had lunch here last Sunday with my daughter. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and very clean. The service is wonderful! Always checking in on you and always available! So we ordered the Karaka spicy ramen. The broth is super yummy and the spiciness is perfect. The tender pieces of pork and the perfectly cooked egg was delicious! Noodles were tasty too! For appetizers we had the Chicken Karage, Ippudo Gyoza and Bun Medley. All the appetizers were super delicious! Crispy fried juicy chicken, the Gyoza had tasty pork inside and the bun medley was very yummy! We got the sampler Bun Medley! Pork, chicken and vegetarian. ALL were very yummy! Great place to get ramen! We will be back!!

Yelp
I wish I can do a 3.5 rating instead of 3 stars. Food was good but a bit pricey for the size of the ramen and it's ingredients. I got the Akamaru Modern with with Poached Egg (they ran out of the Marinated Eggs). The thin ramen reminded me of thin soba noodles in texture and taste. Less chewy and softer than other ramen noodles I've had. The pork broth was good; slightly creamy. Not too rich of a flavor but still has the pork umami taste. There were 2 very thin slices of chashu pork. It's almost as thin as what you would get from a Korean BBQ resto. Pork was soft. It also came with a red paste that was slightly sour and a tiny bit spicy. I don't think it needs the paste. The poached egg was an extra $3. So the small ramen bowl was $22 by itself. The Truffle French Fries was pretty good. Thin cut fries that were perfectly cripsy, sprinkle with crumbs made of salt, truffle oil and paste. Unique preparation of truffle French fries. The staff were very nice and pleasant. They came by a few times to check on us and refilled the glasses of water. We waited less than 15 minutes for the food so pretty quick. Nice open, clean dining room.

Yelp
Ippudo is a bit pricey but you get a generous portion of food. The Karaage was tender and crispy! The ramen was also flavorful and had a healthy helping of ramen. I'm partial to the marinaded egg. The food came out pretty quick after we ordered.

Yelp
We've been to Ippudo several times now, and I can confidently say it's one of the safest bets for good ramen and pork buns in the Bay Area. While I have other favorite ramen spots, Ippudo consistently delivers on flavor. That said, my experience here hasn't been perfect. On a previous visit, the service was disappointing--requests weren't listened to, my beer order was completely missed, and there wasn't even an apology. Despite that, the food was excellent, which is why I didn't hesitate to return. This time around, both the food and service were great. I've tried several of their ramen offerings over time, but on this visit, I had the Karaka Spicy and the Yuzu Shoyu. Both were delicious, but the Karaka Spicy stood out. The noodles were cooked exactly as I ordered (soft), the thinly sliced, succulent chashu was on point, and the rich, umami-filled broth with minced pork and chili tied it all together beautifully. My 6-year-old enjoyed the Yuzu Shoyu--the subtle yuzu tang in the shoyu broth added a unique and refreshing flavor. The ambiance is a bit cramped, but the location in Cupertino Square is fantastic. It's perfect for making an evening out with your family, especially with dessert spots like SomiSomi just around the corner. If you're in the area, Ippudo is definitely worth a visit--you won't regret it!

Yelp
Temperatures have dropped and we were craving a hot bowl of soupy noodles. It also happened to be meatless Saturday so our options were limited. Ippudo has a quite a few vegan options which looked enticing so we decided to check them out. About 30-35% of their menu is vegan which is amazing. We had around 4 ramen options to choose from and we got two of them. We asked our waiter to suggest one of the two we shortlisted but he said both were equally good so we got them both- Nirvana karaka - this one was luxuriously creamy. There was spicy sauce offering on the side. Flavors were complex and it was delicious. Spicy vege miso - this came with the same spicy sauce as a topping. Though equally delicious, the karaka was a smidgeon better in my opinion. Chicken karaage rice bowl- perfectly cooked chicken topped on a moist bowl of rice with iceberg lettuce, spring onions and some sauce. The sauce was surprisingly not sweet and tied all the elements together beautifully. This was for the kids and they cleaned it up in no time. The ramen bowls are relatively smaller compared to other places, just about sufficient for one person.
google avatar

Patty O.

Yelp
Was craving for a bowl of ramen. Noticed that there are many different flavors of ramen now, previously there were only a few options available. Got the : Karage - freshly fried, dark chicken served with aoli and a slice of lemon. The Karage was tasty and hot and is a perfect appetizer Akamara modern - tonkatsu broth with garlic oil, and thin noodles. Tasty and savory. Wish the noodles were a little more firm though but still good. $19 Spicy miso - husband ordered this one. This one comes with thicker curly noodles and the broth definitely has a kick. He thought the Akamara broth tasted better but liked the thicker noodles in his. $26 Overall, the meal itself was enjoyable. The bowls itself are not super big. I felt just right, so if you really like a lot of noodles, I would order extra noodles in the bowl.
google avatar

Peter W.

Yelp
overpriced average ramen. $27 for a spicy miso ramen doesn't come with a ramen egg! an egg is 4 dollars! And it is in very small portions. I dont feel full after that. And.. it doesn't even taste that good as ramen.
google avatar

Josue L.

Yelp
Came here for lunch and was really impressed! We started with the spicy gyoza, I liked it but some of the chilis made my tongue feel a little tingly but overall good. For my entree I got the karage rice bowl, it was a decent amount of food and the chicken was delicious. My friend got the ramen and it looked delicious! Service was quick and friendly and the restaurant wasn't too crowded for lunch time.
google avatar

Yelp
Located in prime location of Cupertino Main Street, this place adds to the variety of food choices. On a Saturday afternoon 1ish, we walked in with no wait but occupied dining area. We ordered akarumu, tan tan noodle, cucumber salad and seaweed. The staff accidentally put seaweed in the order however we didn't intentionally order, no biggie. The tan tan noodle was not the authentic version as I imagined, actually it was quite far from the tantan noodle except the spicy sauce- no sesame or peanut crusts and other ingredients, maybe it's a Japanese-style tan tan noodle? The staff was attentive and the atmosphere is relaxing.

Yelp
Located in a busy plaza at Main Street Cupertino, with sufficient indoor seating and no wait during a weekday lunch time. Good for small or big parties and great service as per usual. Pictured: karaka spicy. Been here multiple times before and the karaka spicy is my favorite one by far. The dish has so much flavor and richness to the tonkatsu broth with a great addition of the spiciness that adds a mild heat element. They add a couple of chashu slices and use thin noodles which is my preference for all ramen dishes. They do have a vegetarian version of the karaka spicy which substitutes for a mushroom flavored broth and tofu slices instead which is just as good as the non-vegetarian version. Definitely one of my favorite ramen spots in SJ as they are always consistent and there hasn't been a single dish I didn't like. 10/10 always at the top of my list when craving ramen!
google avatar

Yelp
We were excited to try the famous Ippudo! I feel like their items are hit or miss. 3.5 stars for us. I ordered the tsukemen and my husband got the modern ramen. They were both quite good. The tsukemen seems to be a bigger portion than the regular ramen bowls. Tsukemen broth is very fishy so FYI - I enjoyed it! We also got to try the pork belly buns which were not bad but not amazing. Someone in our party got a miso ramen and it was suuuper salty, there seems to be some inconsistency. Maybe they grabbed soup at the bottom of the pot? Overall glad we got to try it.
google avatar

Fiona C.

Yelp
I love exploring different ramen spots in the area, and this place had been on my list for a long time. It's a popular ramen chain from Japan, and I've had it before in other locations outside the country. Overall I would give a 3.5 stars! The restaurant is spacious, with plenty of seating, including a large table in the center. We were seated promptly on a Friday evening around 7 pm. The menu is accessible via a QR code on the table, but orders are placed directly with the staff, so you can't order through the system. * Bonnie Bonito: The broth is rich with a strong and bold fish (bonito) flavor, and the ramen noodles are perfectly al dente! I thoroughly enjoyed the flavor profile of the soup, especially the addition of yuzu peel, which elevates the dish. However, the portion is relatively small, and I wish the onsen egg was included by default. At $20 for a bowl of ramen with this portion it does feel a bit pricey. Bonus tip: You can ask to swap the pork loin chashu for pork belly chashu at no extra charge if you prefer.

Yelp
We discovered Ippudo while exploring the area and decided to have it for dinner. It was crowded but we were offered seats at the counter for immediate seating. We ordered the Ebi Mayo to start, then the Akamaru Modern and Karaka Spicy (with egg). It was all so unbelievably delicious! The shrimp was lightly crisp, tender and flavorful. Our ramen noodles were perfect, and the broth was EXCELLENT. Portions were just right. Service was friendly and efficient. The space is clean, bright and modern. We are so happy to have found Ippudo -- even happier to discover a location in West Hollywood. We'll be there soon!

Yelp
Tried Ippudo for the first time on a Friday evening. My partner and I walked in and got seated right away before a huge rush came in, it was poppin'! Service was okay, I noticed a couple groups that got seated after us got served drinks first. When it came time to order, our server was repeating our order back but we looked confused because he said something different than what we said. Luckily he saw it on our faces and re-confirmed with us. He also came back a second time to ask us what we picked for the Bun Medley. We ordered the Bun Medley to start, two Pork Buns and one Chicken Bun, the Akamaru Modern Ramen and Karaka Spicy. I'd say this is different than traditional ramen that I'm used to having. You have to pay extra for all the things you'd want in a ramen. It was still good! I liked the firmness of the noodles and the broth. But also my chashu almost felt like it was ham. Other than that, it was okay overall. There is an audience for this kind of ramen, definitely try it and see how you like it!
google avatar

Carolyn

Yelp
Used to be a go-to spot, but not anymore. $21 ramen doesn't include an egg, which is $4 extra; cups and plates have been dirty with servers being unsympathetic; portions and quality are getting worse.
google avatar

Yelp
Decided to check out this spot last week and found it to be okay. The flavor of ramen was nothing out of the ordinary, Its not the best I had but not the worst either. Staff was not friendly, just doing their jobs.

Yelp
I first learned about Ippudo from my boss, who ordered it for us through DoorDash, and it was absolutely delicious! Funny enough, I ended up liking the dry version more. When I got my ramen, the broth was packaged separately. I was so hungry that I just mixed everything except the broth and ate it dry while waiting for the broth to heat up. To my surprise, it was incredibly tasty that way! That experience made us decide to dine in over the weekend. It was surprisingly quiet for a Saturday night, and our server was super sweet. The Japanese art on the walls added a really nice touch to the atmosphere. We order spicy ramen, tsukemen ramen, extra 2 tamago, chicken, pork belly cuz I'm a meat lover and chicken kraage. Honestly, the tsukemen ramen at Ippudo is the closest I've had to the ramen I tried in Japan. The flavor is deep, rich, and packed with umami. It's so delicious that I'll definitely be coming back soon!
google avatar

Sahridaya N.

Yelp
Rating as a vegetarian - Ippudo sadly did not live up to our expectations. We got the Nirvana Karaka & Daizu no Chikara Miso, both of which was just alright and nothing to write home about. The broth in itself was pretty tasty but it barely had any good toppings. The Karaka paste was definitely the highlight, but the rest of the toppings were mediocre and barely there. I enjoyed my husband's daizu no chikara ramen a bit more than the nirvana karaka probably cause it had a few more veggie toppings. We also tried Goma Q, the cucumber starter whose sauce was lip smackingly good. At $8 it is overpriced but I'd definitely suggest everyone to try it atleast once. The ramen too was definitely not worth $22+ imho, so I don't think I'll be returning unfortunately.

Yelp
Went to Japan earlier this year foe the first time ever, and now I'm craving ramen on a bi weekly basis... but nothing could compare to ramen in Japan. Finally, I took the plunge to drive down to Cupertino and was easily as impressed as the first time I had experienced my first slurp at Ippudo in Tokyo. My group of 2 had no wait when we went at 6pm on a Thursday. The Server was nice and attentive. We scanned the QR code on the table for the menu. Easy to order and enjoyed the nice quiet corner we were tucked in. I ordered: AKAMARU MODERN #I - pork broth, thin noodles with special miso paste, garlic oil, pork belly chashu, bean sprouts, mushrooms and scallions Can't wait to come back

Yelp
First time at this location. Nice sized restaurant and we were there early on a Satuday so no wait which was awesome. Good food in general, not best ramen we've ever had, but a very good bowl of ramen. Started with pork buns which were good, but not great. 2 little slices of pork and could have used maybe some pickled veg in it vs iceberg lettuce. Chicken kaarage was well cooked and crisped, this was very good and paired well with the roe mayo. Everyone liked their ramen, we got the Classic, Modern and spicy. Ramen noodles were very good, well cooked with some teeth. Tamago was perfectly cooked. Broth was good, the pork was pretty thin slices and wished there was more though. Service was very good, very friendly and attentive. Definitely a solid option when you're hankering for ramen!

Yelp
Another "off da plane and into my belleh" episode! This time I headed to Cupertino to give the legendary Ippudo ramen a go. We ordered Bun Medley and got one pork, one chicken and one shrimp, then cut it I to three pieces so we could partake in a taste of each. Verdict is, get the shrimp tempura!! While the other two were by no means "bad", the shrimp tempura just stood out above the others. By the way Ippudo, your website photos DO NOT do these buns any justice! For mains my friends got the Akamaru Modern & the Karaka Spicy. While no one particularly raved about how good their dish was, I can attest that no one was actually speaking once we got our noodles. I ordered the Hakata Tsukemen. The combination of the pork broth and bonito flavors were SO INCREDIBLY tasty! The sauce is gooey and thick and sticks to the noodles like white on rice. This come served with the thicker noodles, which was perfect for me, I LOVE a good chewy noodle with substance. This is a busy strip mall. You do have to hunt for parking. Every store/restaurant is relatively easy walking distance from wherever you end up parking. The only thing I wasn't appreciative of here was that I felt like I was being rushed. Rushed to order, rushed to eat and rushed to pay. While I can appreciate a waitlist, I like to enjoy and savor my food vs. inhale and swallow.

Yelp
The ramen was so good! Hot and super flavorful it wasn't spicy but it deff had some spice to it. The pork bun was light n fluffy. Yum!! The space was really cute too. QR code makes the service fast and easy.

Yelp
Loved the spicy veggie ramen (Nirvana Karaka) - the soup was on point (packed with flavors) and the ramen was perfectly cooked. The spicy sauce with it was the best. We also ordered the bao bun which was great. The service was pretty quick and ambience wise it was bright and cheerful.

Yelp
Finally got to try this ramen shop a few weeks ago. Oilier than I expected but has good flavor. A friend and I stopped by after sharing a mozzarella rice dog next door at Myungrang. Sooo many good spots in the area! Make room for Somi Somi, Meet Fresh, or Sul & Beans! Or not since there's a separate stomach for dessert ;-) Eats: *Ebi Mayo: crispy tempura shrimp tossed in a sweet & tangy red mayo glaze. This can easily be shared by two people when accompanying ramen. *Miso Ramen: savory creamy broth with thick noodles, chasu pork belly slices, corn, bamboo shoots, scallions, diced red onion *Veggie Miso: warm mushroom infused broth made with Japanese soy milk, tofu slices instead of chasu The decor is pretty cool-- most people say the rope display looks like noodles but it reminds me of climbing in high school gym class (at least in the movies). They have seating around the perimeter and a huge communal table in the middle. Great service here! Very attentive, nice staff and they refill water when glasses get low. Super chill during off hours, excellent for catching up over a hot bowl of noodles.

Yelp
A nice little ramen spot with relatively quick service. I had the classic and my husband had the spicy one (can't recall the names). We were both happy with our choices and the flavours were all there. The price is pretty decent but I would say the portions are on the slightly smaller side. I would definitely locate this spot for a light lunch, but probably not dinner unless you are ordering a bunch of sides. We also got the gyoza for my 5 year old daughter, and she seemed to enjoy that as well. Would go back!

Yelp
Second time here. Food is great! The noodles are thin and soft, just the way I like it. Soup is also very tasty. Service was very prompt. I like the ambience, similar to a Ramen Nagi. Just a bit noisy. Will definitely come back.

Yelp
Came here on a weekday and it was pretty slow for the most part. The waiter that took our order was super nice and our order came out pretty fast. I got the classic and it was $16 which was pretty good for the price. It was flavorful and was filling as well. However, when we were paying the waiter just walked away and just handed us the thing to pay.

Yelp
The service is usually good, but not always the quickest. The atmosphere is nice and the inside of the restaurant is simple. The food is tasty, but the portion sizes are a bit small for the price. You also have to pay extra for an egg which can add to the cost. Atmosphere: 3/5 Food: 3.5/5

Yelp
I eat a lot of ramen. It's in my weekly rotation. So I'm somewhat of a ramen connoisseur. I may be the only one to have said that about myself, but I stand by it. + 1 star for offering 4 different flavors of vegan ramen. + 1 star for a seriously delicious broth + 1 star for flavorful tofu and bamboo shoots Unfortunately, they gave me ramen with raw noodles. I drove 40 minutes to get it so I couldn't go back. I ended up eating cold leftover pizza dipped in the broth which was actually good haha. But yeah, huge oversight. And they weren't busy at all, so it's super weird that it happened.

Yelp
I just visited this restaurant and was really disappointed. I paid $21 for a karaka spicy ramen that only came with two thin slices and no egg -- portions were extremely small for the price. The value just wasn't there, and I've never had such a poor experience for that kind of money. DEFINITELY wouldn't recommend this place.

Yelp
Ippudo has been a staple name in good ramen. Have been to SF one many times. This was my first time at Cupertino one. We got pork buns. I got their spicy tonkotsu ramen and my wife got the shoyu one. Pork buns were ok, i would have liked the pork belly to be juicier! Ramen was tasty! Service was super quick. Will come back!
