I'm not vegan, but this place really does surprise you. The food was very delicious and truly flavorful. We got the Platon Ramen, Vrooklyn gyoza, Edamame, and for dessert, we got the sakekasu cheesecake. We will definitely be coming back again.

This was a very refreshing take on vegan cuisine by Ippudo in Dumbo, by the entrance of the Brooklyn Bridge. The restaurant is very comfortably designed with a relaxing ambience and excellent waitstaff. There is a bar and open kitchen. We were seated in the back space, where there was a nice plant wall and comfortable seating. The menu was from a QR code and the prices were considerably expensive for vegan ramen/sushi. Re: No Pasa Nada ($20) - the roll was citrusy and light and the salsa reminded us of tuna bits. Unfortunately, the rice was squishy and did not keep the roll intact when we used our chopsticks. It was pricy for its value, but it was definitely different than what we have had in the past. 4/5 Re: Platon Tonkotsu ($30), which was very surprising as the vegan tonkotsu was very similar to their original pork tonkotsu in its depth of flavor. We liked its simplicity, and added an eggplant chashu which was delicious. 5/5 Re: DAICHI no MISO ($35): there was a lot going on in this bowl. Very flavorful and rich and super packed with veggies. We thought it was very good. 5/5 Yea, the prices are expensive comparatively but given the location, we thought it was justified. Would come back again for the ramen!

I visited this restaurant based on a friend's recommendation, and it definitely didn’t disappoint. I’m already looking forward to returning to try more of their menu options! The gyoza was fantastic, especially when paired with the chili powder on the side – highly recommend trying it that way. The signature tonkotsu vegan ramen was also delicious, but I found it really came to life when I added the spicy side sauce and some chili powder. The space has a bright and airy vibe, which makes for a pleasant dining experience. Plus, the location is super convenient – just a 5-minute walk from the subway exit. Our server was friendly and attentive, but it was clear he was stretched thin as the only one of two people handling all the tables. Feedback: My only critique is about the billing process. Our server took a lot of time to get us our receipt and realized that he mistakenly charged another customer for our bill. He then gave us someone else’s bill to pay, claiming it was a similar amount. I felt this was odd and unnecessary – why not just generate a new bill with the correct items? This mix-up left me wondering afterward if I had overpaid.

Lovely staff and amazing food. So good. Get the Groove Tuna Sushi. My only gripe is that it's a bit pricey tbh for portions outside of the ramen. Share with a pal...

We saw this while driving due to the windows advertising plant based ramen. The food was amazing. Honestly some of the best vegan food I’ve had and the staff was great . Maria was our server and she was super nice and attentive, answered any questions we had and made us feel welcomed. We got the Vrooklyn gyoza, crispy corn, let’s groove tuna eat roll and the ramens were daichi no miso, and pla-ton. We also got two drinks cafe Del Mar and the Rosa Fresca. Everything was 10/10. The pla-ton is so good I will go to sleep dreaming about it lol will def be coming back.

This place got their s#!+ together for sure. Love the attention to detail here! If you’re vegan or veggie and are looking for an elevated experience, stop by! Do have in mind that with an elevated experience come elevated prices. Tho service was really nice, something about the operation makes the guest feel segregated from the overall space, not sure how they’d be able to improve this. Back to the good stuff tho, you can tell the amount of time put into prepping every single ingredient in their menu and this is very much needed and appreciated in the veggie food industry.

This place is such a hidden gem. Get the miso ramen its incredible… comes out with a smoke cover on it for a nice theatrical presentation. The maitake tempura was so good I would come back just for that. They make a solid iced latte as well. My wife liked the shoyu ramen. The tofu in the miso ramen tastes great, I wouldnt be able to tell it isnt meat. Only downside is the beer is overpriced, cheapest one is $11 and most are $14. I did enjoy the draft nama sake though for $15.

Fantastic Japanese restaurant. The tonkotsu is almost certainly the best I’ve had outside of Japan, and the grilled peppers were delicious too. I came in the evening and the atmosphere and lighting were really nicely done and gave the place a relaxed, classy vibe without overdoing it. Waiting staff were all super attentive and really friendly. I have no idea what decaf tea I ordered but it was great as well. Lovely place and will definitely be coming back.

Ippudo V is truly a hidden gem and I'm thrilled that Ippudo has decided to run with a plant-based concept! The menu features Japanese cuisine and I was very impressed with everything we tried. I'm always on the hunt for vegan sushi and the rolls here are phenomenal - the Super Mario Bro and Brooklyn Bridge Rolls are must-orders. Be warned: there's only 4 pieces per order, you'll want more! Another stellar item were the Brussels Sprouts, which may just be on my list of top Brussels sprouts, as they were cooked to perfection. The Gyoza were great and you couldn't tell they were vegan. My least favorite item was the Maitake Tempura, as I found them to be a bit lacking in flavor. I can't wait to come back and try more of the menu.

The broth at Ippudo V was incredible. I'm shocked at how they can have such a huge place in dumbo, but the restaurant is cavernous and so aesthetically pleasing. I sat at the bar alone and service was good even at the off-peak 3pm time I went. I'd come back often and try more of the menu!

My husband, a dedicated meat eater, declared it some of the best ramen he's ever had--and my jaw was on the floor when he said that! The food was absolutely incredible. The ingredients were fresh and perfectly balanced, with nothing overdone or overly processed. The homemade noodles were exceptional, but the sauces truly stole the show. 10/10

I saw the sign for ippudo V around the corner from my gym so I decided to go check it out after my workout. The corner location is sunny and warm, and I loved the garage style windows that rolled up and let the fresh air in. There isn't a ton of foot traffic by that area in Dumbo but the space is simply gorgeous and the menu is quite creative and worthy of a visit. This fifth location frmo Ippudo serves exclusively plant-based versions of their ramen and bao buns. They also have plant-based sushi as well, but I just finished a workout so I decided on a Mango Manifesto ($13) smoothie instead. I loved the housemade vegan whipped cream piped around the sides of the cup and the smoothie was very mango-forward. I didn't taste much of the plant-based protein collagen so if you are sensitive to powders, you will not be put off by their smoothies.

We stumbled into this new restaurant walking around the area. We came in for the sandos but they only serve during the day time. This place is pretty spacious and it was set up like cafe/restaurant style. We got the gyoza, sushi roll and dessert. The gyoza was pretty good and really enjoyed the 3 unique dipping sauces. The sushi roll was vegan and thought it was alright. The imitation eel did taste pretty similar to real eel. We also got drinks hojicha latte and sencha. Both were pretty standard drinks and I believe they source from Kettle. The chocolate mousse cake was really good. It's made out of tofu and has a good texture to it. Overall, pretty solid new restaurant for vegan Japanese food. It's a bit pricy for some of the dishes tho.

This place is a dream. The space is beautifully designed and so welcoming. And the food is simply incredible. The tonkotsu ramen broth was so rich and tasty and the enoki tempura and tofu chashu were incredible. The gyoza were delish too. Can't wait to go back.

Terrible experience. Staff were very unfriendly for no reason. One of the waitresses literally followed us out the door hounding us on something they could improve. Even left a snarky remark at us when we just wanted to leave. Avoid this place.

I feel very mixed giving 4 stars for $30 ramen, but I think the fact that it's vegan but doesn't taste vegan combined with the gorgeous interior of the space may help to justify it?? Everything on the menu is plant based, and while I'm a meat lover through and through, I was very intrigued. Once I got past the sticker shock (typical Ippudo ramen are in the high teens to lower $20's), I decided I needed to try the "tonkotsu" and see for myself how rich they could make a plant based broth that is traditionally pork based. OH MY. they did it. They really did it. How did they get the broth to be so creamy?? So rich?? Answer: mushroom and soy milk? No matter, I was so impressed! The grilled eggplant slice in the tonkotsu was soooo melt in your mouth and the pickled carrots added a nice refreshing zing, while the fried enoki provided a tasty crunch. The husband was less impressed with his shoyu ramen, which is generally lighter than the tonkotsu to begin with, but I still thought they did a great job with the broth. All in all, I don't know the variety of options out there for vegans, but ippudo V did a banging job of delivering on the umami. If I didn't have a side by side comparison I'm not sure that I'd be able to recognize that this broth is plant based! The price is not my cup of tea, but hey, I'll stick with my meat-based $20 ramen!

I came here for dinner with a friend on a Monday night. I'm always excited to try a new vegan Japanese restaurant especially vegan sushi. Planta Queen is my favorite vegan restaurant but it's in Manhattan so I'm always looking for a good vegan restaurant in Brooklyn. The place had a lot of seating and I especially liked the tables near the opened windows. My friend ordered the Pla-Ton (vegan tonkotsu) ramen with vegan noodles, fried enoki mushrooms, and eggplant. I ordered the Super Mario Bros sushi roll (Akazu brown rice, seaweed, avocado, asparagus tempura, marinated carrot, marinated red cabbage, mushroom tempura, plant-based "Tuna" mayo teriyaki sauce, mayo and micro herb). The vegan tonkotsu broth and noodles tasted great and rich. The sushi roll was tasty too. I really liked the mushroom tempura. However, the mayo was not vegan so it's vegetarian sushi, not vegan sushi which would bother people who are vegans. I'm not vegan so it's not a big deal to me. Service was fast and friendly. The place was on the pricey side but I'm glad I tried it.

Incredible ramens. They are insane. Great service. Great vibe. Food is just amazing. Also recommend the crispy corn.

My friends and I stopped in spontaneously for matcha, tea, and coffee. It was a big, bright space with plenty of seating. We sat at the coffee bar as the drinks were being made and they were all delicious. Good strong iced coffees, and the matcha was made properly with a wooden whisk and quality matcha powder. Christina took really good care of us! We loved her energy. I'd definitely come back again and try the other offerings.

Incredible. The food, people, and ambience are all top notch. Thanks for adding a vegan restaurant to Dumbo. If you love ramen and Japanese cuisine, this in one of the best in the city, check it out.

Great vegan ramen, we loved it, must eat for vegan and vegetarians. Daichi No Miso was ordered by three of us and was a hit and so was the Sushi. Christina our server was great.

Ippudo in Brooklyn! And they're plant based! And what's this, they deliver! Wait, why don't they have any of their menu items from their restaurant on their delivery menu? C'mon Ippudo, there are starving vegans that would spend their money on your ramen weekly, but you're not helping. Put your vegan items on your delivery menu. You would have made bank from us by now. Also, update your vegetarian items to vegan with vegan mayo and vegan egg so you don't have to feel guilty calling yourself plant based. Ippudo decision makers, step it up. You put a V in your name, but you don't deliver it, just slinging pork products out the back? WTF?

In today's climate, it's important for a successful business venture to consider consumers' needs and wants. Here comes Ippudo, a well-known Japanese ramen empire with their signature tonkotsu broth. Even a giant needs to heed to diner voices and has introduced the first vegetarian spot from the ramen shop. Despite the lack of 'meat', the bowl is still very hearty and comforting - still he same wavy egg noodle but now cooked in a vegetarian base along with vegetable toppings and obviously no char siu. But the meal still feels satisfying. The Pla-ton ("faux-kotsu") ramen is should probably be the first foray here. The broth is creamy yet loaded with umami. Nothing taste any less stellar than the OG version, including the price point, not that vegetable dishes should be cheaper. Now chat Chikalicious Dessert Bar has closed, having their dessert there is also another advantage point. No line so far, so do take advantage of it, along with the calm and less hectic environment.

I am very confused. Ippudo V only advertises vegan and vegetarian ramen on their website. Excited to order from them, I go to Uber Eats and see pork ramen options but no vegan options? Very misleading.
