Fancy Frozen Food Startup Ipsa Provisions Lands in Boston | Eater Boston

"A NYC-based frozen-food startup has launched in Boston, offering chef-elevated freezer meals for delivery across town — examples include a balsamic and date-braised brisket and Tom Colicchio’s oxtail ragu. To mark the Boston debut, the company collaborated with chef Ana Sortun to create two special dishes for the launch: a spanakopita and a lamb-and-eggplant moussaka." - Erika Adams

Frozen Food Startup Ipsa Provisions Launches in New York City | Eater NY

"I see Ipsa Provisions as a fine-dining take on frozen meals: co-founded by Joshua Brau, a former Blue Apron brand director and Chipotle corporate manager, and Micah Fredman, a veteran of upscale restaurants turned private chef, it launches on February 11 with initial delivery across Manhattan and Brooklyn. Meals are made in a licensed commercial kitchen in Long Island City and are delivery-only for now; they feed two to three people and generally cost $21–$25 each (examples include beef and kimchi stew with Korean rice cakes, coconut curry with vegetables, and charred pineapple pibil with chicken). Customers can order weekly on Ipsa’s website without a subscription, with a $55 minimum per delivery, and meal prep usually involves little more than defrosting on the stove. The founders position Ipsa not as a competitor to restaurants but as a way to take the legwork out of home cooking for people who want to cook well but lack time or skill; they piloted the products with about 150 customers, are cautious about expansion, and have so far raised only friends-and-family funding." - Erika Adams

Ipsa is the only frozen food that delivers time and time again! Their soups are my go-to for nights that I’m too tired to cook, but don’t want takeout. From starters to dessert and everything in between, their dishes are not only flavorful but also incredibly easy to make.

I've been a big fan of Ipsa since the beginning. The quality is outstanding - both from an ingredient and taste perspective. I love that the food is made on the stovetop or in the oven. It's quite the departure from sad microwave meals.

We absolutely LOVE Ipsa! The food is not only tasty but also nutritious. Ipsa has been a game changer for us, giving us more time to spend with our toddler.

The order came on time, was nicely packed and everything was still frozen. I've finished 2 meals- both were 3-4 servings for me so a great value. Meals are tasty, fresh ingredients and nicely flavored. I will reorder when I finish the box- if they ship to your zip code I highly recommend you place an order. Delish! Make room in your freezer😀
