"If you think vodka is the worst spirit, you haven’t been to ISCO yet. The urban distillery’s version, made with corn from upstate New York, is smooth and balanced, without the typical burn that’s associated with vodka. They’ve changed our minds if that counts for anything. If you’re adventurous and like dirty martinis, check out their Ostreida vodka, brewed with local oysters. For folks who don’t want a drink that tastes like the ocean, the bar also has a rotating list of sweet, boozy, bitter, and frozen cocktails. Whatever you choose, soak up the urban factory setting at a fire pit on the patio, and maybe even order a pizza from Lost Valley Pizza just across the street." - Grace Kelly

"Come for the drinks, stay for the terrific food pop-ups. The owners of this distillery — Providence’s first since Prohibition — in the booming Valley neighborhood make gin, vodka, and bourbon on-site. They currently serve their spirits fashioned into cocktails on a spacious, open-air patio outside the distillery. On weekends, pair them with food from rotating pop-ups such as Bintimani West African Kitchen and the Afro-Indigenous Vegan." - Jenna Pelletier

Visiting the area and this place had been recommended to us on more than one occasion. Large industrial building housing the distillery plus an indoor bar and large outdoor covered patio area with lots of extra seating. Some of the cocktails were definitely off the beaten path and worth trying but made me want to get back on the main road next visit. Seating on the inside bar looks trendy but not that comfortable and unfortunately only one of the outdoor fire tables was lit on our visit and already occupied. Prices were very reasonable and service was excellent.

Google
ISCO Distillery in Providence is a great spot for craft cocktails and has a nice atmosphere. The staff are super friendly and welcoming. Their cocktails are high quality, well-balanced, and definitely strong! The outdoor patio is a great place to hang out, especially with the fire pits—just ask, and they’ll turn them on for you. It’s a great spot for group gatherings after work, which is what we commonly do. Inside, the space is on the smaller side, but there is a variety of seating options. Overall, a great experience, and I’d highly recommend ISCO for anyone looking for tasty craft cocktails and a cozy, inviting setting.

Google
ISCO hosted a Welcome Social for my son’s wedding. The whole experience was absolutely fantastic. The industrial location with the outdoor area with fire pits had the perfect ambiance for the event. The liquor they make was absolutely phenomenal. I have a gluten allergy (Celiacs) and all of their liquor is corn based so I didn’t have to worry. the staff was amazing and really went out of their way to help make the night magical. They worked with me for the event including making custom cocktails (which were delicious) and a cocktail menu that paired with the food the caterer was making. The cost to host the event there was very reasonable and well worth it. So if you are looking for a relaxing and magical place to host a special function, or to just go to with friends/family, I highly recommend ISCO!

Google
What a cool place. The cocktails were PHENOMENAL. Great range of cocktails that suit everyone. Both bartenders made me a special cocktail to experiment and both were so tasty. They were both so friendly and clearly passionate about the job. The fires outside made our cold night toasty and fun. Such a cool atmosphere. Would highly recommend, but kind of want to keep it secret, that's how cool it was.

Google
Place has a great atmosphere. The gin is out of this world! Met the head distiller, who gave a tour of the operation. Very knowledge and passionate folks here! I hope they make a spiced rum someday! Highly recommend!

Google
Fun place to get a cocktail. Great outdoor space with lots of seating and you can bring your dogs. Good cocktails and friendly staff.

Google
This place is so real, it’s palpable. From the outstanding industrial atmosphere and the genuine, friendly folks who bring you drinks...to the beautiful bathroom complete with atmospheric music; You feel transported to another world created by folks who truly care. Delicious drinks too. I’ll be back.

Yelp
The Guava Station is perfection! I wasn't sure I would like it but man- it was delicious. It was more sweet than liquory which is what I like. The bartender totally convinced me to order it and I am thankful she did. I feel like she listened to my likes and met them or even superseded them. What I don't like- they cancelled the Saturday night comic! Super disappointed. The outside area is very Houston/Charlotte like. Think renovated old mill areas that are given new life like storage containers and such. Very industrial. A lot of outdoor seating with available fire pits (but none were running that night.)

Yelp
Okay, this place is cool. It's kinda in a weird area and you have to search for it, which only adds to the mystery of the spot, but once you find it, it's worth it. I love that there's a local distillery. Their tasting room is beautiful and clean, and service was great. You can try everything for a super fair price, and they present it as super high quality which is awesome. They have some really cool, fun, and unique options that they've come up with. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area!

Yelp
Went there on a Friday night to have a quick drink and use my bathroom of any business I have visited. My drink the bees knees was amazing. Also that Friday night the had musical but bingo and I won a free hat . The service here is always very helpful and friendly. I also used their wonderful bathroom, the visuals of the bathroom were still stunning but alas there was no music . But I will also have my video to remember it by. One of the workers said the CD isn't working and they probably need to get a new one. So they will definitely be coming back just to check that out. I also bought some merch , I got my wife a new sweatshirt for the chilly days we go hiking in the woods, with the bright yellow color , hopefully people that maybe hunting will see us.

Yelp
ISCO is totally underrated! It is a bit out of the way from DT Providence so I was not aware of this place but now that I know I hope to keep visiting. I have enjoyed ISCO alcohol before in other settings but didn't know they had a bar where you can order cocktails in house! Would highly recommend getting a drink here - they're really delicious and with many options. The service was also very friendly. Looking forward to visiting back soon

Yelp
ISCO is a great hang out spot with tasty cocktails. Plenty of whiskey and gin based drinks. The staff briefly explained some of the drinks and the ingredients. ISCO has many unique cocktails and I will definitely be returning. They also have a large outside patio with fire pits. During your visit be sure to check out their restroom... I'll just leave it at that.

Yelp
Industrious is such a unique distillery located in Providence! Between the surrounding location, branding, outdoor area, and cocktails, it's definitely a highly rated experience. It was a 55 degree day, so we chose to sit outside at one of the gas fire pits. Unfortunately, both of ours that we bounced around to ran out of gas, but it didn't hinder the experience. I ordered the Eyre cocktail which was UNBELIEVABLE. Absolutely the best, most refreshing, cocktail I've had in a long time. Maybe even the best in general! Industrious lets you bring outdoor food to pair with their cocktails & I highly suggest you do too! A great Sunday experience.

Yelp
Came for the drinks, stayed for the atmosphere. Neon lights give it a modern feel, you can see the neon from the street so it beckons people in. They have an outdoor patio with fire pits so people can relax and enjoy even on a cold night. Inside is intimate with little nooks to cuddle up with a date or friends and enjoy the cocktails. Staff was friendly and helpful, bringing us waters and helping us with the menu. Highly recommend for spirits lovers!

Yelp
Decided to come here after work around 6pm, it wasn't too busy and we were helped right away. The service wasn't too bad, but they weren't overall friendly and helpful when helping us three. When asked if we wanted to sit outside or inside and we asked our group of friends, the bartender gave out a long sigh as we were debating where to sit. A bug also flew into one of the drinks and we asked to remake it, the bartender asked the other server if there really was a bug in there. You could tell Mikayla (the bartender) had an attitude. However, drinks are not bad and the outdoor area is very cute. Service is definitely 0 because of this encounter, but good drinks

Elsa R.

Yelp
I love the vibe so much. I've been transported to another world. The drinks are delicious too. I just love all of it so much. everyone is so nice.

Yelp
The most amazing spirits I've ever had. We had a cocktail that night typically made with whiskey, but because we have bourbon drinkers they made for us with bourbon. It was very smooth, tasteful, crisp light made you actually want to have a second. My hubby, who typically doesn't like this type of thing will always try something once when we finish a cocktail he's like we have a second lol I was like no we're driving. We are intended to go back there again this coming Sunday after a show at the Waterfire arts Center across the street. The service was exceptional. The young man was very friendly helpful explained all the spirits, and what they had to offer shows the menu shows what they were offering for specials that day. It really was a wonderful experience. During the late spring and summer and part of the fall did you have band and stuff there so I'm gonna recommend they gave me that business cards to recommend that my friend comes to play in his BM there outside they have fire pits cool seating it was just amazing. You can have all ages of people come they normally have food unfortunately that night they did not they only had chips which is really not my way of eating I have alcohol so I think we will have to go another time so we can try the snacks as well, but they really were amazing. Amazing place to go to hang out to catch up with friends as like a destination spot before you go to the theater or a show or something. Looking forward to going again this coming Sunday after the show I am going to.

Yelp
Pretty on the inside, and great fun for a bigger group on the large, covered patio. I met a friend here tonight and the service was as impeccable as my Manhattan. She enjoyed a tasting flight. The place fills with light and the funky lighting on the patio is entertaining at night. Go check this place out and also buy a bottle to take home!

Yelp
Great selection of ISCO own spirits vodka, gin and bourbons. Cool outdoor seating area right next to the providence steel yard.

Yelp
The Industrious Spirit Company (ISCO) is a great place to enjoy delicious cocktails! ISCO produces sustainably sourced vodka, gins, and bourbons to create unique handcrafted spirits. The cocktail list changes seasonally so if you see a drink you want to try, grab it! Currently, they have an outdoor patio with first come, first served seating. They started to create slushy drinks for the spring/summer and the Lucky Charms is my current favorite. It was lucky charms infused milk, condensed milk, vanilla and vodka. Yum!! I can't wait to see what other flavors they create throughout the summer. Their regular drinks are also great! Most drinks are served neat and great as sippers. I love to get their coffee based drinks. Always well balanced! Most weekends, they have food pop ups. On my visits I've enjoyed Pretzels by Primrose and pizza from A Guy and His Pie. Currently on Friday nights, they host Dip Dips! ISCO is right next to the new Farm Fresh building. If you are ever at Providence Flea on a Sunday, hop on over and enjoy a beverage! Overall, totally recommend!

Yelp
I've been here twice. Waited to review since my first visit was on a cold, rainy night near closing time. Two different experiences based on the weather and time in which we arrived. Inside is still not open. They are working on it. You order from the window and find a table outside. The outside space is covered and the table types vary. There are picnic style tables, large round tables, small two tops, and fire pits. Each table has a number. Staff will bring your drink over once you've ordered and sat down. I had been wanting to try the Flora cocktail since I saw it on social media. It's a riff on a Bloody Mary (kind of) with vegan kimchi brine. The first time we went at night on a weekend, they said this was a daytime drink. I was super bummed since IG made it sound like it was a weekend drink. You've been warned. Second visit was during the afternoon on a weekend and they happily made me the Flora drink. It was worth the wait. I will say all the drinks we tried over the two visits were on the light/weak side. Whether that is because they measure exactly or don't put lots of booze is TBD. We do like good strong sipper drinks. I wouldn't say they have anything very strong here. And yes, we ordered a plain pour of one of the gins which didn't knock my socks off. The bottle labels are gorgeous. They did a great job there. I think my favorite part is the rotating food vendors they invite to the patio on the weekends. This past weekend I was introduced to the most delicious vegan chef, Bree from The Afro Indigenous Vegan. Plenty of street parking. Cool spot to hang when the weather is good. Try the Flora. It's the best drink on the menu IMO.

Yelp
Went here for after work drinks with coworkers and had a great time on their spacious outdoor patio. The drinks were delicious (I enjoyed the drink Garden Party), and the bartenders were really nice. They also allowed us to bring food to celebrate some coworkers who are leaving, which was very nice of them!

James B.

Yelp
I love this place. The ambiance is amazing and the staff is beyond nice. They are very knowledgeable and are experts at creating the perfect cocktail. This is going to sound weird but the bathroom is a must visit when going to ISCO. I won't go into details as to why because I don't want to ruin it but it's a really cool bathroom. They were kind enough to block off the deck area for us to have a quinceañera for our puggle, Lua. Their emails to us were nothing short of great; telling us they couldn't wait to host Lua and her guests . They had a food vendor there but told us we could feel free to bring any food items or sweets that we would want with us. I can't thank them enough for making our day, as well as our little dogs day, a great one. All of our friends had a great time as well and I'm pretty sure we made them fans of ISCO if they hadn't been before .

Nick M.

Yelp
Great drinks at a super fun industrial environment! The spirits are fantastic and smooth, and the drinks are artfully thought out and crafted with intentionality. This is a must for anyone in Providence!

Laura J.

Yelp
Really nice little "bar". The spirits are made there so no beer just hard liquor. No "girly" drinks either it's all very top shelf Very cozy indoors and fire outside if you wanted to sit out there. The bartenders were very quick and service was great

Dan Z.

Yelp
This place is great! Talk about local, community focused enjoyment, ISCO is a shining example of how a little investment can blossom into the revitalization of an entire neighborhood. Oh and did I mention that their spirits are unlike anything you've had before? Come on by and see what all the buzz is about or order directly through their website.

Vijay S.

Yelp
The Industrious Spirit Company (ISCO) is an excellent place to have cocktails. They produce sustainably sourced gin, vodka and bourbons and everything is made from scratch. Cocktails change seasonally. A DJ was playing interesting music in the background. It made me feel like I was in a 80s dance club. They have heaters and fire pits in the patio. For drinks, I tried the nosmo, the margaret and one more gin based cocktail. The nosmo was definitely interesting with the garam masala. I have not tasted anything quite like it before. Overall, if you want to have unique cocktails in a steelyard setting, you've to check this place out. Their hours vary on different days, so its better to check that out before coming over.

Altena S.

Yelp
This place was awesome! They have a huge outdoor section that's covered with fire pits and then a cute indoor section with the darkest bathroom you've ever seen. The employee was super friendly and provided a lot of information on how the liquor was made. They also welcome you to bring in food if you'd like and may have food trucks pending the day. The also sell bags of chips and we tried the Carolina garlic and rosemary chips which were delicious and super garlicky and the honey Sriracha one that had a little kick to it but delicious too! We tried some samples of their vodka made with whole oysters which was surprisingly good and smooth. We also tried their ornamental gin that was smooth and refreshing (bought a bottle of that) and their blue velvet bourbon that was strong but 100 proof and made from two distinct blue corns. We loved the employee's passion and excitement when speaking about all the different liquor they offer. We had two cocktails while visiting and the first one was the Titan which had the pitana gin, passion fruit, pistachio falernum, and lemon which was good and smooth! Our second was our favorite which was the smash hit (evoo -washed structural vodka, green apple syrup, lime and shisho) and it was delicious, light and easy to drink! This is definitely a fun place to visit with friends and have a few drinks to relax and unwind and even with kids (but bring entertainment for them)! There are plenty of seating outside but inside is limited. It's also across the street from 2 breweries, New Harvest Coffee, Tallulah's Taqueria and lost valley pizza so great food options nearby too! We will certainly be back!

Alyssa C.

Yelp
Wow what a cool space! Not sure how I've never come across before. Visited on a Friday late afternoon in December. Thought I would be much colder but there are fire pits and heaters on the patio. They kept it nice and toasty, and it's also outdoors but still underneath a covering which is great. There were a good amount of people there, but not crowded at all. Gave off such good vibes, easy place to hangout with some music and a drink. We ordered our drinks at the window and found a place to sit while we waited for them to be brought out. The cocktails were really good- and think you can take them to go as well! Definitely plan to visit again, especially in the warmer months.

Amanda S.

Yelp
LOTS of neon! And I'm here for it! I got to say... the bathroom here was an experience in itself. It's dark with a fierce neon sign. There is jungle sounds (?) playing in the background. It's funky! But hey, you didn't come here to use the bathroom. The drinks are STRONG (in the best way possible) and there are gins, vodkas, and bourbons to choose from. I got the Margaret drink which reminded me of a margarita but instead of tequila, had gin. It was delicious. The outdoor patio has an overhead cover and there was plenty of seating available. You seat yourself and then go up to the window to take your order. There was also a food truck available.

Danielle F.

Yelp
What a special place! They used the steelyard setting and really incorporated it into their atmosphere. They host other local business and their location to the new winters market makes it really ideal. Great place to go for something unique while supporting your local business. You can see they care about what they do.

Lizeth G.

Yelp
Theres a lot to love about ISCO. They're local, they have an adorable location and are one of the only distilleries in providence! I had a great experience on their outdoor patio in the evening. We perched ourselves by the fire and waited to order and enjoy some cocktails. We ordered at the little side window, and waited back at our table. The drinks arrived - a simple gin and tonic as well as a Fillip, made with their Kismet whiskey. As much as I wanted to love their cocktails, the alcohol came through in a really sharp way. For the price of their cocktails, I think there are a few more quality bars nearby that would provide a better palatable experience. If you want ambiance and a killer industrial vibe pay them a visit and try them out for yourselves. I may give them one more shot, but I'll wait for their interior bar (which looks amazing) to open back up!

Pablo G.

Yelp
I've been here a couple of times and this is a little hidden gem. Be aware, this bar serve their distills (gin, bourbon) so options may be limited. However, what they make is always very good. My favorite thus far is the Margaret. Hope you enjoy it.

Amber M.

Yelp
Cool patio space, cool concept. Their drinks are ok. I find them a little one dimensional. Also have bad a couple of their zero proof drinks and they're all flat! It's like weird flavored water when it should be fizzy. So weird. Got a frozen peach bourbon drink and it don't taste like peach at all, just sugar and general fruit.

Russ H.

Yelp
Been meaning to go here. I got a bourbon. My wife had the Titan (gin). Both were fantastic. I took a bottle of bourbon home. They don't have their own food, however, they had Horsman's BBQ on site today killing it. If you like hand crafted spirits, go here... Now!

James C.

Yelp
After seeing this new distillery on the news, we decided to stop by for an afternoon cocktail. I was excited to hear that ISCO is the city's first distillery since prohibition! The take-out window is open to order drinks and they are brought to your table. The industrial vibe is awesome for the up and coming arts area of Providence. Alcohol options are vodka or gin and there are a variety of cocktails for selection. There is also snacks available. Staff were so welcoming and friendly and truly expressed the appreciation for our business. Check out their Instagram page to hear about bands coming to the patio as well as new cocktails!

Ashley R.

Yelp
I tried their spirits at a vendor event. The customer service and welcoming attitude of the gentleman helping us makes me want to go to their tasting room when the weather gets warmer. I didn't think I liked gin untill I tasted their Patina. Bourbon barrel ages gin with flavors of vanilla, caramel, floral notes. The vodka was good on its own but I can imagine it making a great espresso martini.

Jack A.

Yelp
Great drinks and outdoor seating! Loved the pretzel pop up today Hoping to go back when it's warmer too!

Hannah F.

Yelp
Tried the obvious child, and one other drink. Disappointed that the spirits I wanted to try that was on their website was not available until August/ September.

Bob D.

Yelp
o Neat little place. My wife and I sat on the patio. We had the Astro and Lana cocktails and just chilled for a while. Bathroom is an experience onto itself.

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
Pros: great space, outdoor seating, casual and laid back atmosphere, all are welcome mentality, friendly staff -- overall very nice vibe Cons: mixed drinks were watery and bland Im going to go again and support their business b/c I imagine it's hard to get a business going during a global pandemic
