Wow! We’ve walked past this place for many a month now, and yesterday was finally the day we visited. Never have I been so happy to be inside a restaurant. The food and atmosphere were both great, but the highlight of our experience was definitely the owner! She was so enthusiastic and genuinely cared about her food and her customers. And: bonus: shes FUNNY! Major cool aunt energy. Being in It’s Greek 2 U Grill feels like an iced cold lemonade on a warm day: very refreshing and soul-nourishing. Will be back many many times in the future <3

I have been eating and ordering from here for the past four years since moving to the neighborhood. The food is authentic, delicious, and reasonably priced. The saganaki is a must. I’ve had gyros, souvlaki, and kebabs in the past. All are amazing. The interior is very Greek, and so is the service. It’s not always exactly clear whether you are seating yourself or if you should order at the counter as the sign says. Regardless, just be patient until someone directs you, and get ready for some fabulous eats. On my most recent visit, I learned there is an outdoor garden in the back with more seating. I will definitely check that out next time!

Family owned business with great food and atmosphere. We had Kalamaki and some appetizers. The staff is super friendly and kind. They treat you like family. The food was very good. Everything was seasoned perfectly.

Super fresh produce, hand picked by the owner! The four dips with pita, Greek fries, chicken pita wrap and village salad are always a hit and it’s byob! :) A great place to sit in the backyard with lights and comfy seating!

Incredible. The only place I could get a cheaper burger is McDonald's and this burger was so good I coulda swore my Grandmother made it for me. And it's a real burger, I didn't have to pay an extra 30 dollars for nacho cheese and shrimp. Just good meat, clean veggies, and a sweet bun. And the French fries TASTE like POTATOES. Every where I go they forgot what potatoes taste like, all I get are little fried sticks of sugar. Maybe the best burger I've had in years, and I didn't even try their Greek food! It's just the only place I could find a real burger for a reasonable price. You better believe I'm going back to try their specialty's. Also the place was beautiful.

The patio was super charming, and the food was deliciously authentic. The saganaki was a must-try, and the pork belly gyro was amazing. Our waiter, Aldo, was really friendly and shared some cool insights about real Greek food versus the Americanized stuff. Can’t wait to go back!

The BEST gyros in the Chi hands down!!! It’s insanely delicious. Taste just like what I had in Greece. The owner Vicky is so friendly and welcoming. She said next time try pork Souvlaki. Can’t wait to go back. Highly recommended.

I've visited twice now and can't wait to return! We love Greek food and happened upon this place while exploring the neighborhood. The Spanako Pita was crisp and flavorful, and the tzatziki was some of my favorite I had ever had. The woman in charge is quite funny and has some good stories to share. I'd recommend snagging a spot on the patio in back. It is cozy and has a bit of magic to it.

I'm 100% Greek American and I highly recommend! Everything was great and it's BYOB. Inexpensive for the quality and perfect portions.

As a person who has eaten 250+ gyros in my lifetime, this place rewired my brain chemistry. I was confused looking at their menu wondering why they only had chicken or pork belly gyros. I thought maybe this place was just trying to be trendy and different, but Greek-inspired interior didn't really match that vibe. We tried the tzatziki, saganaki and chicken kabob which were all very good. However, we also tried the pork belly gyro stuffed with fries and it was one of the best things I've eaten in Chicago. I cannot stop thinking about how good it was. My mind was blown. I ordered another one to make sure it wasn't some anomaly (they also are similarly sized to a half of a sandwich). I don't ever want to eat a lamb gyro ever again. This place is a must try.

Food was mediocre. Waited way too long for a simple order. The owner came off as sweet but is actually rude and inappropriate to me

I get the pork belly yeero with fries inside every single time I come in. The flavor is well balance and I love the friendly staff. I haven't tried anything else but I can 100% stand by the yeero. This is a cute little place with a great patio in the back. Great for a quick bite to eat or maybe even a cute get together!

I decided on a Saturday because they open on the weekends at noon and 4 PM during the week and they had Pastitsio as a weekend special. You order at the counter and the lady said take a seat anywhere. The owner was working in the kitchen, answering the phone taking orders, etc. There was no waitstaff which surprised me considering it was the weekend. We were waiting longer than usual and about to leave in a few minutes when she finally took our order. I ordered Chicken Gyros and my friend ordered Chicken Souvlaki she said that hers was a little skimpy compared to my amount of meat, and she went on to say that she could have used more tzatziki sauce (mine too). The owner was the only person to take our order. On our way out I saw a waiter finally waiting on a large table. The Sagankai was good and a nice piece to boot but there was no Opa! She just put the plate on the table. The Spanakopita was a good size but a little overcooked. Check out their website menu before you go there because I was going to order the Pastitsio (Greek Lasagna) that was on their Yelp website menu but the lady/owner said that they didn't have it that day, their "Special Menu" had Filet Mignon and Lamb Chops were both marked as "market price". Also, they didn't have Avgolemono (lemon, egg, and chicken soup}, a staple on most Greek restaurant menus, which surprised me, the lady said "It's too hot for soup".

Super simple menu, and reasonably priced. This is a great spot to pop in for dinner or lunch (its BYOB too which is great). Everything was super fresh Staff was incredibly friendly and had a very family owned vibe feel.

Considering Andersonville is loaded with various restaurants, it's easy to overlook this small establishment. However, It's Greek 2 U Grill is home to the best yeero I have ever had. And as a life long resident of Chicago, that is saying something. I have personally walked by this place hundreds of times, but I finally decided to give it after a friend recommended it. Although this place is small, the ambiance is really pleasant and the (who I am assuming) is the owner is incredibly friendly. Good service, good ambiance, and even better, good food! The pork belly yeero was fantastic and makes this place worth a visit. It was the best I have ever had. Good hummus, too. I just wish the yeero was bigger. I also wish they would give you way more pita bread. I pretty much ran out immediately and resorted to using cucumbers and tomatoes to eat the rest of my hummus. But yeah, this place is the real deal. So if you're in the neighborhood don't hesitate to stop by. You won't regret it.

Soup, salad, and shrimp pita sandwich tasted yummy & freshly prepared. Restaurant was quite full & lively on a Saturday night. Owner Vicki was accommodating and warm.

This place is the best Greek food in Chicago, most like the home cooking that I learned to love over the years. Perfect spices, nothing over or under cooked and each dish under the careful eye of the owner. Please bring back your fabulous pastitsio,!

We tried this quaint little Greek restaurant on a Sunday night. The saganaki was excellent- 1/2 the salt as any others we have had. Delicious and with tender warm pita. Also got the combo plate for two. Came with two beautiful greek salads. Olives, feta, onions, cukes and fresh greens. Then the combo plate. Meatballs, sausage and two kinds of gyros on hot, tender pitas. All very good and great prices. Meals 10-12.00. BYOB place, with street parking.

If you want a laid back, homey atmosphere with excellent service and a home cooked meal, this is the place. The owner is so sweet and has truly cultivated a no frills paradise. I can't wait to revisit in the summer when her back patio is in full bloom and fill up on authentic delicious food!

Cute small place w/ yummy authentic Greek food. I had the chicken souvlaki and it was perfect. The pita was soft and fluffy and the chicken was tender and well seasoned.

Our first dining experience at It's Greek 2 U was a pure delight! Thankfully we made a reservation as this small restaurant was packed on Saturday. Ambiance is warm and welcoming--when we arrived there were already several large parties dining. Aldo, our server, was gracious and attentive. Food was fresh and perfectly seasoned. Had the date/walnut/feta salad along with the saganaki--delicious! All the entrees were excellent. Amazed the staff and chef brought out the food in a seamless manner. On our list of must-go-back restaurants.

Definitely authentic Greek food! The best gyro I have had since I came in the USA. I tried both- pork and chicken gyro, and my advice is to go with pork! It is so much better. Also, order Greek fries- it has cheese on it and it is delicious. Place is decorated in Greek style ( very nice) and they have beautiful patio! Unfortunately, we couldn't use it due to a chilly weather.

Not sure how long this place has been around, but I am mad that I just discovered some great Greek food within delivery range without having to drive to Greek Town to pick it up. I was looking for something to eat and oddly enough the places I would normally order from were closed early for delivery, but this place popped up and figured I would give them a try as I was not in the mood to get dressed to go out and pick up food. We ordered the Chicken Yeero (layers of chicken seasoned with herbs served inside pita with tomato, onions and tzatziki), Pork Souvlaki (char-broiled tender chunks of pork served inside pita bread with fresh tomatoes, parsley, smoked paprika, red onions and tzatziki), Kabob (ground beef and lamb served inside pita bread with fresh tomatoes, parsley, smoked paprika, red onions and tzatziki) and rice pilaf. Man what can I say except that these yeeros are not what I am use to. This is not the usual sliced meat but hearty chucks of flavorable meat that was tender and juicy. The flavors were so fresh and the tzatziki didn't overpower the sandwich. It was nice to see that there was more meat than bread for a change in a sandwich. The kabob was so good! I love lamb and I could definitely tell that there was lamb in the kabob as oppose to more beef. The Doctor and I each got an order of the rice pilaf, which was pretty good. The Doctor, who is Armenian, said it tasted a lot like the rice his mom use to make, and she knew how to cook. I got an extra Pork Souvlaki because I love all things pork and wanted to try it the next day. Folks it did not disappoint and made a great breakfast. The sandwich held pretty well, the pita was not soggy. Now that I have discovered this place I will be ordering from them again as I would love to try the lamb chops.

Horrendous experience. I politely asked our server to split our check, and out of nowhere, the owner burst from the kitchen, rudely shouting, "No, no, it's not possible! I'm going to pay three percent on the credit card. It's one check, you don't tell me what to do!" Her attitude was shockingly disrespectful. It's clear she has no interest in seeing her customers return. The way she treated us was not just appalling but downright insulting. Avoid at all costs if you prefer to be treated like a human being.

not great. I will not go back, ever. go to Crossroads in Evanston , it's far better. weird & slow service. human adding machine made an error on the bill, I was overcharged, but I just wanted to leave.

Some of the best Greek food in the city, plus a cozy atmosphere, and a very friendly owner who makes you feel at home.

The food and service is authentically Greek and it is honest, and well executed. The weekend specials sell out quickly, so get there early or order ahead. The clean dining room is wonderful and the service is warm. The gyros, and souvlakis are the mainstay and not to be missed. And the spanakopita is worth the 10-15 minutes wait.

We stopped by for an early dinner tonight and it was really lovely! The service was great and the portions were generous. The avoglemono soup was a little bland for my taste, but not so much that I didn't finish the bowl. A little more acid and pepper would've made all the difference. The saganaki was great, though we've been spoiled by our local place and missed it being served with a flaming "Opa!" tableside. We got the mixed grill for 2 and absolutely **loved** the sausage more than anything, and next time I'll just order the sausage sandwich. The rest of the meat was also a little underseasoned for me, but the baklava was killer. Overall? I'd recommend it. Ask for a little extra tzatziki and some lemon and you'll be all set.

It's wild to think that my first time eating here was within the past week. I love Greek food and I am always in this area so I grabbed a quick lunch. Ordered the kalamaki and the saganaki. The chicken was very flavorful and I was impressed that it was not dry at all! Usually kabobs can be hit or miss at places, but the chicken was cooked wonderfully. The saganaki was great as well. You order and pay at the counter, but there is ample seating and I believe a patio as well. Service was perfectly fine and I had a nice experience dining in. I would love to stop in again to try some more of their offerings!

This place was recommended by our friend - and it didn't disappoint! The food is great here, it is one or the rare places in Chicago where you can get the true authentic Greek food, not the Americanized one. I had the Pork Belly Yeero and I loved it - my friends even ordered two of them! Ask for the fries in it, you're gonna like it even more! Service was very slow, though. We were done with our food when they dropped our drinks (Coke cans). And another thing I didn't like - you have to go to the front desk for everything you need, you have to order the food there, you have to ask for the drinks, pay etc. But I guess this is that kind of a restaurant, and the owners do not really care about the service, their focus is on the food and they are doing great!

The best food super fresh and the what I can only surmise is the mom, fabulous and friendly so warm feels like dinning with family. We came from New Mexico and are so glad we found this place. try the potato salad, amazing like everything else

The food was absolutely amazing in this place. Talk about authentic Greek food!. We came from L.A. and are very impressed with the menu. It's simple and delicious. Don't miss out on the off menu specials, be sure to ask!

I have been craving a Gyro as I haven't had one for years. I googled this place and had good reviews. I ordered a shrimp gyro and Greek fries. Let's just say it was so delicious and fresh. My gyro was perfect along with adding the side of Greek sauce. The fries were cooked perfectly! They had a nice crisp to them. I don't eat fries often so this was a treat. However, they must have forgot to add the oregano and feta cheese. That was a little disappointing, but hopefully when I go back I'll get all the full toppings on my fries.

Gotta call foul on this place tonight, sorry (sincerely). Popped in to put in a takeout order, just one item, and the manager/owner at the till said it would be 15 minutes. I said fine, as I had to go to Walgreens across the street. Came back after 10 min and acknowledged I was back a bit early. Then the order taker told me she had neglected to put in my order with the kitchen. OK, these things happen, right? She said 10 minutes. It was 25 more minutes. Giving kids candies and handing out other to-go orders, and no real apology or consideration, even when my order got handed off by her while she was talking to another customer. I do like the food and I'm glad it's an option in the area, but very disappointing tonight.

This place is way awesome. Went there all the time before the pandemic for the lamb kabob, but now I'm love with a newer item...pork belly. OMG...so good. I always grab the saganaki. They don't serve if flaming, but its the best saganaki I've ever tasted, especially with the lemon on top. I don't usually notice or care about ambiance or decorations, but this one grabs my attention. I feel like I'm in Santorini (or some other Greek island...who knows? Never been there!) Also, the woman who owns the restaurant always come by and says hello to our table. She's such a fun person. I asked her about the tomatoes and she said she grows them herself special for the restaurant. The tomatoes are noteworthy, because neither my partner and I like tomatoes, especially cold and raw, but for some reason, these are very flavorful and not slimy at all. This is the only restaurant where I won't pull the tomato off the sandwich. Anyway...never thought I'd talk so much about a tomato, but here we are!

One of my favorite restaurants in Andersonville. The food is good and fresh, the owner Vickie is nice and remember every customers that comes in. My 2 favorite items are: the Greek Burger and Pork Tenderloin Sandwiches. Both comes with fries. It's on my list of restaurants if I don't want to cook at home.

Passed this restaurant so many times and was never tempted to go in. However, a friend suggested we try it as she heard they have a cute patio in the back. And so we did. I was pleasantly surprised that they take reservations because our party of 5 had to soak up warm Chicago weather as much as we can. We booked a table outside and loved it. It's a cozy, relaxing space with a beautiful tree and dimmed lights. A small oasis hidden between a restaurant and a garage that was so unexpected. Food was very good, Greek fast food that was fresh and tasty. You order at the counter and nice staff brings the food to the table. A warm Greek lady greeted us and expressed how happy she was that us girls can eat a lot:) She might have been the owner. This review would not be complete without mentioning that this restaurant is BYOB! That kept us both cheerfully buzzed and our bill low!

This review is largely based off their customer service. I placed a pickup order for their weekend lamb chop special with greek fries. I arrived to an empty restaurant that had one table which had just finished eating. There was a single waiter on staff as well as an older man and woman in the open kitchen. Following the sign's instructions I walked to the counter to pick-up my order. The older woman and man were in the kitchen preparing a single dish together. Not one of them had a mask on despite the recent rise of Omicron in Chicago, or the city ordinance in place regarding masks. I stood at the counter for a full three minutes, in plain view of both of them, nor more than 3 feet away, and not one of them acknowledged my presence. Initially I thought they were waiting to finish their meal prep, however after the woman was done assisting the man she began slicing tomatoes. I finally got tired of being blatantly ignored and approached the waiter on the floor, who was aimlessly adjusting empty tables, and requested my order. The woman in the kitchen only looked up after the waiter entered the kitchen to grab my food, and she appeared very intentional about not looking my direction. There was no acknowledgement, no apology, no recognition that I had been standing in view of all of them and had not been offered assistance. Do they generally have poor customer service? Maybe. But I was told by a white man that this place was amazing and the female owner was incredibly friendly; I walked in as a black woman and had the complete opposite experience. Is this a race issue? Maybe... maybe not. But whatever the issue, my money is the same shade of green as everybody else's and their lamb chops weren't good enough to subject myself to feeling invisible at this establishment ever again in the future.

Everything was great no explanation needed. Must come again. All the food is organic and fresh. The restaurant was very clean. The server was very nice and professional.

Walked into this modest dining room during the Sunday lunch hour looking for something fast, but also hearty. The woman at the counter had the commanding air of a proprietress, warmly welcoming while also directing the cooks behind us. Greek ballads played on the sound system while the winter sun shone in through the glass front of the restaurant, and artwork depicting Greece hung from the walls. We got the mixed grill platter for two and Greek sodas (blood orange and sour cherry). Boss lady warned us that some of the meats would take a little longer because they were grilling up a fresh batch of kabobs. The wait was worth it - we got a big rectangular platter lined with two soft pita rounds covered in mounds of well-seasoned chicken and pork savings from the rotating spits, slightly salty crust and well-done meat, a small handful of loosely packed herbed beef kabobs, and new-to-us Greek sausage in snappy casing, house-made with orange peel and anise for a wonderful flavor. The mixed grill also came with a choice of carb, we went with white rice over roasted potatoes, and grilled vegetables, mostly caramelized green beans, probably frozen mix, but fine nonetheless. This is a very welcome, family-friendly, and unpretentious option in Andersonville.

It's Greek 2 U? More like How Bad is it 2 U? I ordered for delivery. The "Chicken Yeero" arrived cold,dry, and overcooked. The chicken in the "yeeroo" had some really hard and tough pieces in it. I don't think they use the best chicken parts. The sandwich had little flavor. The pita and amount of ingredients was like MiniMe size! Their rice is watery and tasteless. The food has little to no flavor. Also, the portion sizes are so small and the quality so bad, it is insulting. These are like bad tasting overpriced kid sized portions here. I have no idea how they stay in business.

Went back for a second time. This time I ordered the right thing: The veggie sandwich. It's just a piece of pita with lettuce, cucumber, delicious feta, kalamata olives, tomatoes, onion, and just a little dressing, with tzatziki for dipping. For $6, it was filling, healthy, and truly delicious. I also got some rice (a little overcooked), the vegetable of the day (which was a nice helping of garlicy, buttery, lemony broccoli/yellow carrots/green beans), and the Greek patates (tasty and very filling). The owner was there and she was very nice. So were the other staff. I'll be back now that I've found the perfect sandwich there.

This review is not about the food, it's about the abysmal customer service. The food is tasty albeit over-priced, but I was willing to pay because it is made to order and tastes so good. That is probably why I kept going back despite the rude and condescending treatment that I routinely got from Vickie, the owner. At first you might think she's just being edgy, because occasionally she was friendly, but after awhile, everyone has their limit as to how much guff one will take, especially when that one is a cash paying customer! I started going there in 2021, but I wasn't just going there by myself or with one other person, I was bringing groups of 6 to 10 people, if not every other week, at least monthly. Vickie actually had the nerve to say one time when I walked in with a group, "Oh my God! Look at all these people!!" Yeah, we're your customers, right?! Even though we usually had long wait times for the food, It was made to order, and I told myself it was worth the wait. But In the last time I went there with a group, I was made to wait over 40 minutes for my order while everyone else was served and ate. And while I was waiting, I noticed Vicki was nowhere near the kitchen helping to get orders out. She was chatting with other customers, and then sitting at a table doing paperwork. (What the *&$# lady?!). When I questioned her about where my food was, she started yelling at me that I should know it takes time, and blah, blah, blah. This was the treatment that I received despite always paying (and tipping 20%) in cash, even though I ordered at the counter! (No good deed goes unpunished!!). One of my friends in the group who witnessed her rude behavior towards me on that day, asked me why I keep going back, as he had many times also experienced her unprofessional behavior too. That was 6 months ago and I have not been back since. In closing, I noticed from reading the other 1- and 2-star reviews here, that a lot of other people experienced her rudeness and poor customer service as well. How does a place like this stay in business?! I will never go back and am writing this as a cautionary tale to other potential customers to run from this place like your hair is on fire.

The food is flavorful and the back patio is quite nice. It's a little pricey given the restaurant feels more like a fast food Greek shop. Additionally, the corkage fee at $5 a bottle is excessive, especially since there is no effort to obtain a liquor license. I don't mind corkage if the restaurant offers alcoholic libations, but when they do not, I don't like adding to their income because they won't invest in their own business with a liquor license. Most wine is twist off now and really, what's with a few glasses?

I'd like to say this place had a bad night, but I'm convinced I was not eating what I ordered. I ordered a pork belly yeero, a chicken yeero, and a loukaniko. It all smelled and tasted like I was eating diarrhea. I took a bite and, literally, almost threw up. It was absolutely disgusting. Very disappointing.

We are regulars and never disappointed! Salad, all apps, yeeros, and kabobs are staples. Burger also excellent. Love the owner; great service!

Love the slouvaki (I think it's the baked cheese dish) and eggplant fritters! The owner is such a wonderful lady!

Everything in the restaurant is pretty much a la carte. The portions are very small, the pros are is cook to order. I tried their chicken kalamaki, rice pilaf, tzatziki sauce, and pita bread. The chicken kalamaki was seasoned ok, it was well cooked. My only complain is that it did not come with anything else, not even tzatziki sauce, which I had to order separate. The rice pilaf was ok, nothing special. We also tried the beef and lamb wrap, which was not cooked all the way, even when we stated well done. Over all the place is clean, and presentable. The service was on point. We went there during lunch time, place was not busy at all.

The only thing better then the food here are the people. If you are in the neighborhood you have to try this spot. We just moved here and it has quickly become one of our favorites :)

We were hanging out in Andersonville, and the service was top notch. Everyone was very friendly and it felt like your mom was preparing your meal. I was with my wife and daughter, and between us all, we enjoyed our dishes. The lamb chops were delicious and the chicken yeero was on point. So do yourself a favor and check this place out!

I had a great experience at It's Greek 2 U, which I had passed by so many times and wanted to try. It's always exciting having new places come to Andersonville! The staff is friendly, genuine, and welcoming. You go up to the counter to order and the food is brought to you. We got the Kolo-Kytho-Keftedes (shredded zucchini and parmesan cheese patties), Greek Style Patates, and the Greek Vegetarian Sandwich. Everything was excellent and the portion sizes were perfect for the price! The atmosphere was clean and quaint. We sat by the window which is great for people watching. Any seat in the house would be great, some looked really cozy! I'll definitely be back!
