Our experience here was amazing. We drove 10 hours for the GNX concert and the staff helped us all the way through the process of the shuttle and how everything worked. The price was amazing in this economy they were prompt and polite. We went ahead and ate at the restaurant and I had one of the best burgers I’ve ever had in a very long time. What a class act of a company and staff. Haven’t stopped talking about you guys since the experience. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

We went here for the shuttle to AT&T stadium. Found good people, good food and a nice time. The chicken fried stk was good. The hush puppies Devine. I do not know if everyone was in a good mood because of going to see ACDC, but all ppl I talked to were very nice. The crowd was older ppl which I liked, but then again most everyone there was going to the ACDC concert. We bought passes for a bus ride to the stadium. We were let out just down and across the street from the front of the stadium. When it was over we found where we were supposed to be and got in line for a shuttle back. We had a lil lady on the ride back and she was so nice. Our waitress was not so much, we are all on a very strict budget. One of our group kept asking about beer prices. This was pissing out waitress off. I think she needs instructions on how to handle the older gen. I kept joking with her to lighten the mood, but she is very uncalled for, and this is my time to say something. What better platform than this. She was also tipped well.

The Irish Nachos were on point, as always. Everyone else said their plates were great, as well. No one out of 24 people complained. The service was fine, it was busy, and our waitress checked on us periodically. This was a Birthday gathering and all in attendance had fun.

Food was great and the price was too. I always come here when we go to a Rangers game. Never disappoints.

Google
I highly recommend the Irish Nachos!!!! Soooooo yummy! The service was wonderful, the staff very sweet. My daughter and I were attending an event and we were shuttled from J Gilligan's. We had a wonderful experience and would love to do it again!

Google
First, the hype about the Irish Nachos isn't hype, it's honesty. Should have ordered 2. Great to make a meal out of. The chicken fried steak was really good, Buffalo chicken sandwich was balanced and well cooked, and yummy. Kid's chicken tender meal wasn't messing around, real chicken breasts, great breading. Ever the traditional club sandwich couldn't be beat. Along with the Nachos, order the side of grilled chicken. The side of grilled chicken is seasoned and cut up and worth being a meal, generous and delicious.

Google
Truly a BAR and grill For a person drinking alcohol, this food is probably great, but if youre sober, not so much. Just ghe basic "drunk man food". (I get it) I ordered a Nachos and literally got 6 nachos on top of meat, covered in cheese, lettuce and tomato and a few jalapeno. My wife did say her philly was good.but the potatoes(covered in cheese was blah. Maybe it was because we went in the middle of the day on a Tuesday, where we were the only customers there. We had to get the attention of the staff after a couple of minutes of waiting. I dunno, my suggestion go for the Drinks, not the Food. 🤷🏿‍♂️

Google
An Arlington institution. The Irish nachos are the bomb, and the burgers are pretty amazing, too. We have had great chicken-fried steak, mashed potatoes and okra, too. Eclectic mix of people, college students, families, ball teams, seniors. Feels comfortable and familiar. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I was in Town for a Concert. I remembered it's tradition to get the Irish Nachos at J Gilligan's. There was a lot going on when I walked in. I'll explain. Mesquite High was having their High School Reunion and some Dancers from Miss Persis Dance Studio was in the house. They were receiving Vip treatment but, that didn't stop the Manager from taking my order and getting it right with minimal wait time. The Manager hooked me up w a free drink too He was super nice to his employees. He gave direction well and was not flustered even with a crowd. I was able to share my Irish Nachos with my Fam. They truly enjoyed it and thanked me several times for sharing. If your looking for a tasty appetite. I would recommend the Irish Nachos.

Yelp
Every time I give this place another try, I end up asking myself why?!?! Service sucks. Food sucks. I wanted a few beers one day...less than a dozen people in there and never was I even acknowledged. Gave them another chance...nachos were not edible. Club sandwich was made with bread that was all torn up. I'm done with this place!!

Yelp
JR Gilligan's is a traditional spot in Arlington for just good food or to meet up with friends. Best known for their Irish nachos, which are basically baked potato skins with cheese, sour cream and bacon bacon, they have a lot of really interesting. Tasty bar food, some Irish some Tex mix. Some trying to be both. Always tasty. You can also get Great beers, mixed drinks or just a big ice tea. Great place to go with the family. The service is great, they treat you like family. And the well worn bar and entry area gives you a feeling of an Irish bar or a Honkytonk. Interesting mix.

Evan Y.

Yelp
Honestly the best bar I've been to in Dallas. The layout is a labyrinth, you feel like you're walking thru your grandmas rumpus room, then traveling thru time to a real Irish pub. Surprisingly good food, stiff drinks, an affordable pool table, and a trivia night with a cult following. I think I'll be back

Yelp
Location Stadium area of Arlington Off Abram Parking Large lot and another across the street Note-Park here and shuttle to the stadium! They pick you up by the 7-11 Atmosphere Irish spirts bar Seating So many choices-bar, tables at outdoor porch(2), inside tables-many areas and back restaurant. Great for groups, parties Service Outstanding! Mary at the bar- fantastic! Menu Nightly specials. Wr had the frozen sangria and margarita, the quesadilla with beans. Another time we had the philly chicken cheese steak sandwich-best ever and tater tots. They also have salads, burgers, irish nachos, ect. Something for everyone. Summary If you are going to the game, park here! Great food, great service! Love it!!

Yelp
Amazing food, environment and service. Great place to go on game night to watch your favorite sport on TV with other fans

Glenda K.

Yelp
We used the shuttle service to AT&T Stadium, very efficient. Then enjoyed margaritas with a burger & house fries afterwards. Freshn hot and tasty!

Terri L.

Yelp
Ordered thru grub hub and we knew it wouldn't be as good as in house but Lordy. The CFS was good sized but the bun was the size of a slider. I mean half of it wouldn't even fit on the bun they used. And the lettuce was disgusting. My husband ordered a medium burger with no onions and got a rare burger smothered in onions with a bun that fell apart from being so soggy. Food was good, their execution not so much. We literally took their meat and put it on the buns we had at home thankfully. Would not recommend delivery orders but may try in house next time.

Sheila L.

Yelp
Everyone loves Gilligans and they love Randy Ford even more!! Arlington couldn't ask for a more community oriented gentleman! He's not a stranger to hosting events for schools, retired teachers, class reunions, and THE St. Patrick's Day Party! His Irish Nachos have been featured on the Food Network. If you're attending a game or concert at AT&T Stadium or Baseball Game at Globe Life, park free at Gilligans and take their shuttle! You can grab some Irish Nachos, a beer (Rum and Coke for me!) and jump on the shuttle for the event!! 400 E Abram. Look for the green building and patio!

Yelp
If you haven't been to J Gilligan's in Arlington, you're missing out on a Texas-sized good time. I went in expecting a run-of-the-mill sports bar experience and left with a belly full of the best Irish nachos this side of the Atlantic and a heart full of joy thanks to Luka Dončić's game-winning 3-pointer. Picture this: It's a nail-biter of a game, Mavs versus Timberwolves, Mavs down 107 to 108. The atmosphere is electric. Just as I dig into my crispy, cheesy, bacon-laden Irish nachos (seriously, these things are tasty as hell), Dončić drops a 3 like it's hot and the place erupts. Beer spills, high-fives are exchanged with strangers, and for a moment, we all become family. And speaking of beer, a domestic for $4.75? In this economy? Come on, how can you not enjoy this Arlington icon? If you need a place to witness sports history, indulge in some sinfully good nachos, and keep your wallet happy, J Gilligan's is the spot. Go Mavs!

Yelp
We had a great group of friends gather at J Gilligan's recently. J Gilligan's took excellent care of us on a busy Saturday evening. Everyone's food was fantastic. My wife had her "regular," the grilled chicken sandwich. I decided on J Gilligan's cheeseburger with onion rings. As a starter, I HAD to order Irish Nachos. You can't not have Irish Nachos if you're dining at J Gilligan's! It's a must! As mentioned, all of our group's entrees were outstanding. My order of Irish Nachos brought a "rush" of memories on the first bite. It's been decades since I've had them. Oh my goodness, they were SO delicious. Now on to the cheeseburger and rings. It was a phenomenal burger, and the onion rings were to die for. They were so tender and fried to perfection. My wife and I decided that we mustn't wait so long for a return to J Gilligan's.

Yelp
Came for the parking/ shuttle before the Zach Bryan concert. This will absolutely be our go to love for events going forward. We got to the bar at 5 for the show starting at 7 and I don't think they ran out of parking by the time we got on the shuttle. Follow the signs to park and then buy your shuttle wristband at the window. It was $15 a person for the shuttle. They were incredibly fast! We stayed to the end of the show and the line was long but there was a ton of shuttles getting people in and out quickly. They take back roads to the bar from the stadium so they dodge all the traffic. The bar itself has a $12 one stop buffet deal for events. For $12 you can get a burger or chicken sandwich, chicken tenders, Irish nachos and fries. It was a great deal and the food was good! Staff was incredibly helpful when we came in explaining everything and making it all very clear!

Tiffaney C.

Yelp
Totally recommend this place! The Irish nachos were delicious, this is a dish they're known for. They did not disappoint! We also shared a Philly and it was served with au jus sauce. Very nice touch! Service was great, our waitress was very kind, friendly and the food and drinks came out quickly. We will absolutely come back!

Holly T.

Yelp
We like to come here and park and have a snack and a few drinks before catching the bus to the ranger stadium. Last trip we had the Irish nachos and they were really good. Cold beer reasonably priced and staff is attentive. They have a great setup and lots of seating available if needed. Bathrooms small but pro tip the one furthest to the right has AC in it which in the summer is a bonus if only coming inside to pee before taking the bus.

Rob W.

Yelp
Food was good, service was not Never got the extra beers we ordered or the Irish nachos my wife ordered for dinner. Tabs had to be corrected. Wasn't crowded, just a very inattentive young waitress.

Moto S.

Yelp
I go to Gilligan's to watch sports mainly. It's a nice enough place, lots of space, several rooms that look like they just kept adding on, and on, etc. Nice sized main bar in the middle. They also have a main dining room that isn't loud or noisy. Lot's of TV's with different games on, so the one you want to watch will usually be on at least one of them. If not, just ask, they're usually happy to accommodate. Drinks are reasonable, beer selection is good. Pretty large menu, and most of it is better than your average bar food. Burgers are good, chips and salsa is one of my favorites, but almost everything I've had I've enjoyed except, wait for it...not a fan of the Irish nachos. Good crowd, mostly older, mostly calm. Parking lot out front is small, but they have overflow across the street to the east, and plenty of free street parking around them. It's an easy decision place to go to. Never really had a bad time here.

Dawn G.

Yelp
I cannot believe that you can't request to have something removed from the Irish nachos. They tell you NO but then ask it that's okay??? Seriously! We won't be back. You ruined our night.

Sonia C.

Yelp
I went here with my daughter to take the shuttles to Metallica at AT&T. It was $10 round-trip, and absolutely worth it. They had so many buses, that we never had to wait long for one to arrive, event after the event. The menu was modified the two days we were there, so perhaps we would have enjoyed ten food if we had been there on a different occasion. Instead of the full menu, they had a small buffet offering with burgers and a few other items. Most people seemed happy with the food, but since there was nothing vegetarian available, we didn't get it. We were able to order the Irish nachos without meat, and they were just okay. Lots of onions, so if you're not an onion fan, you may want to take note of that. My daughter had a couple sodas and some water. I ordered two margaritas. The first one was good. The second one was terrible. They were made by two different bartenders. I got an extra shot and made the second one more palatable! Everyone at the restaurant was very friendly, and we enjoyed our time there. I would absolutely recommend this place prior to events at the AT&T stadium. Great find!

Paulo L.

Yelp
Love the bar Shuttle service is a rip off You can park a car for 20$ But they charge you 15$ per person!!! And you have to walk to the $20 lots!!!

Tommy W.

Yelp
J Gilligans seems to have run off the sketchy clientele and and is back to being a nice, casual dive bar to have lunch or a cold beer. The fiancee and I both live outside Arlington these days, but still stop in every few months when we pass thru town. The atmosphere is relaxed and the service consistently fast / friendly. We've enjoyed ourselves and will continue stop in.

A A.

Yelp
visited j Gillian's Saturdat July 6, 2024 as a long time customer. got the chicken fried steak dinner. The steak was maybe 1/4" thick, and the fried batter was about twice the size of the actual steak itself. contacted via website Monday July 8, 2024. no response. Embarassing service & value of meal. long term customer with the last time visit.

Rob S.

Yelp
Wanted to try the Irish Pub Nachos which was a huge mistake. As pictured below the Potatoes were both Old and Overcooked. This tainted the taste. It was smothered in cheese so it made it hard to see until you removed the cheese. I wouldn't recommend that version. Fresh potatoes would've made the dish totally different I'm sure.

Dennis M.

Yelp
I would highly recommend for their drink special on Thursday's! You can get a pitcher of beer for $6.50. Now that's a deal I've over ever heard of one. Great vibes as well good music and atmosphere.

Stephanie L.

Yelp
Glad to see this Arlington Establishment is going strong!! The Irish nachos are a local legend, and do not disappoint! Lunch time with all the regulars was interesting, You don't see that to often these days. Service was great, Philly cheesesteaks were 10

Skyy S.

Yelp
We walked in on Fat Tuesday and it was so fun. We found somewhere to sit and looked over the menu. We went to the bar to order and got drinks, which were super good. My mom got a taco salad and said it was a little dry but seasoned okay. My dad ordered the cheeseburger and onion rings. He is super picky and this meal alone made him want to come back. I agree the onion rings were amazing! I ordered the Irish nachos and they were just okay. They were way to oily and needed to cook the potatoes a little longer because they were mushy. I'd come back for drinks for sure!

Deborah P.

Yelp
Super Fun place for our Lamar High School reunion. The restaurant is the best for parties! Great food ( chicken sandwich, nachos) and drink (cabernet sauvigion, beers). Great service by our server, Mary ( believe her name was). She even gave me her pen, too! Wished this place was in AZ. Can't say enough about it. Super location, easy to get to from our hotel , Embassy Suites SOUTH, Irving! Check it out!

Yelp
I wasn't sure what to expect at J Gilligan's during a Cowboys game the week after Christmas. Now that I've had the experience I would not have it any other way. J Gilligan's is an Irish pub located in the heart of Arlington. They made our Cowboys game experience top notch. The food was perfect for game night. They had a special events menu. The menu included burgers, chicken sandwich, chicken strips, grilled cheese, salad and of course their Irish Nachos. The Irish Nachos are a must try. They include fresh cut fries with an array of toppings. They were excellent. Not too much on the special events menu, but just enough. They even had a holiday drink menu as well as a menu full of regular J. G's cocktails. The ambiance was perfect for a game night! Although the lines looked long throughout the restaurant, the staff did a great job of moving people in and out with not a long wait. There was indoor and outdoor seating as well. They also provide transportation to and from the Cowboys game. We purchased wrist bands and were set. The shuttles ran continuously. So there was no problem getting to or from the game. I would definitely visit J Gilligan's again. It's been around for a long time for a reason. Thank you. Keep doing great things for the community!

Kim S.

Yelp
Close to Stadium with reasonable prices. Nice thing is the shuttle to and from games. Interesting bar with lots of rooms and great staff.

Madilynn M.

Yelp
Worst experience I've ever had here. First off, we waited forever for our app and food. Continued to ask the waiter to get this , to get that. Once food came out 24 hrs later, most of it was wrong. We asked for crispy chicken tenders and received a piece of grilled chicken. We were brought double of an entree when we ordered just one to share - but the waitress left it because she "didn't want to waste food." After the rest of us ate all our food, we were still waiting for my sister's CRISPY chicken tenders, so we just cancelled the order After being extremely annoyed and over this experience, of course our bill was wrong. She tried to charge us for the cancelled order of chicken tenders AND the extra entree SHE LEFT that we did not order. Trying to make up for it, she added a 10% discount. However the bill was still wrong, so she went to fix it. She comes back and had added 2 more missing beers and took off the 10% discount LOL. With that she also added her own gratuity for her horrible service! It is a shame our dinner was stressful.. It's not that hard to listen.

Tina T.

Yelp
So we decided to eat at this bar and grill since we are doing the shuttle $10 per person to the stadium for the Luke Combs Concerts. I have to say the menu was very limited but we were OK with it. Prices of the Food were awesome, drinks were always great. Service was awesome. Our waitress Ale was Amazing!! We will differently be back to visit to try the full menu !!!!

Brittany l.

Yelp
If your looking to be starred at, mugged, and felt uncomfortable this is spot to go if your skin color has melanin in it I'll tell you that much.

Yelp
J. Gilligan's is a go to spot for me. From my first day in Arlington, to the day I graduated college, to just days ago for the St. Pats Day Celebration, it's been an indelible part of my life here in Arlington. When I think about J. Gill's I immediately think of enjoying a Shiner on a Friday night with a plate of Irish Nachos. I think of the days that my classmates and I would go here after our Thursday night classes and listen to karaoke and laugh, drink and have the best time. If you haven't had the Irish Nachos, or gone on karaoke night, you must. Always a great time. It was also admirable to see them fight so strongly to stay alive during COVID and I am so glad that they did. I honestly cannot imagine Arlington without them. My go to now - the veggie quesadilla with onion rings instead of ranchero beans (they have bacon in them). On St. Pats Day I decided to stop in for the Annual Celebration for the first time since the pandemic, and it was such an incredible feeling. They had at least 10 outdoor bars, a special menu, green beers and 3 stages throughout with different music. As I slipped my whiskey and cola (in a glass that turns green and stared at Abrams street, for a moment, everything felt normal. The crowd was all kinds - students, senior citizens, parents with kiddos, loud college kids in green - and it was just an incredible time. A belief escape from the world that I hadn't felt since 2019. The owner is super cool (and a UTA Alum), the staff are always attentive and the beer is always cold. So grateful for you, J. Gilligan's!

Alicia D.

Yelp
They know how to run a place! Fast, friendly service right before the Cotton Bowl! Food and drinks were great and not expensive at all. Plus, the shuttle was so reasonably priced and organized - definitely recommended utilizing this service and establishment if you are going to AT & T stadium for an event!

Tae Kyung Y.

Yelp
J Gilligan's was a cool little sports bar to visit - we decided to come here to watch the NBA finals on a Thursday night. It was pretty dead as we visited on an early Thursday evening. We pregamed at Free Play so we came and ate right away! I was hungry. I ordered a burger with shoestring fries - it was only $10.75 so very affordable prices! Also opted for a beer (Strongbow) and our food came out pretty quickly. The burger was good. Typical American bar food.. nothing too special. I mean it was pretty worth the price. If it was price any more than that, I would've given it 3 over 4 stars. The crowd started picking up a bit after the game which was about 10-11pm so I guess it gets livelier after that time. Overall, it was a nice placw to grab dinner. I don't know if I woild be back on my own will but I'd definitely be willing to go if other people wanted to!

Ned P.

Yelp
Great casual dinning . Very busy and fun . Close and convenient to so much I'm Arlington !

Bill S.

Yelp
We used their transportation service to attend a Cowboys game AT&T stadium. The service was perfect no wait on either end. The wrist ban they gave us even had the phone number to call if we needed a ride before the end of the game. A Plus.

Craig C.

Yelp
We were there for lunch and enjoyed great food and drinks and decent service. But we went on a Friday night for drinks before a show and were less than pleased with the service and the drinks. They didn't seem to know how to make a vodka martini. Seems simple enough, but we had to tell them how! So I have mixed feelings about the place.

Dior W.

Yelp
i haven't actually eaten here before, but one thing i can tell you is that on game nights, it is PACKED. i typically park here to go to the stadium, they let you park in their lot & you just pay like $10 for round trip use of their shuttles. that's an incredible perk. i think the first time i parked here last year, i came a bit early to enjoy the miller lite house in front of the stadium and their parking attendants weren't there, so it made navigating & figuring out what to do quite hard and a little stressful. i got out my car and starting giving other people instructions b/c they were just as confused. this time around, it was better. however, our shuttle driver kept the door open while circling around to find more people. it was over 100 degrees outside so doing my makeup for 2 hours ended up being pointless. he made me sweat it off.

Becca S.

Yelp
I can not say enough good things about J Gilligan's. First off, irish nachos. It is a big skillet of sliced potatoes covered in nacho fixins. It is just a cast iron full of comfort food. If potatoes and cheese aren't your thing, it's cool, they have a good menu. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable. One side is just the restaurant and the other is a bar/ party room. The staff are friendly and the owner is amazing. He is always there and takes pride in his establishment. It is a fun place to hang out, have a beer and a burger or try those Irish nachos!

Brittany E.

Yelp
Giving two stars because the server was friendly. The AC was not working well in 110 degree weather so it was about 85 in the room I was sitting in. No music at all on a Friday night. They only have three options on their event menu for adults and the food was not worth it. The Irish nachos were just very greasy cheese fries. The burger was worse than a sonic burger. I don't recommend picking this place for a normal dinner, but I'm sure it's fine for the event goers who want a quick beer and a snack.

Shonda R.

Yelp
Yummy food great family restaurant until dark than it's a bar an has karaoke night on the weekends fun place

M P.

Yelp
Good bar food, great friendly service in a down town historic restaurant. Nothing real fancy. Good food at a fair price. Can be loud and crowded on the weekends.

Ashley N.

Yelp
Love J gilligans for lunch! Would recommend for families and game days! Something to try for sure if you're in Arlington!

Deb S.

Yelp
Cannot go wrong w/Irish Nachos and their regular nachos. Both are outstanding! That said-delivery was a NIGHTMARE! Food was cold when it finally came-driver said he was out front; yet could not call to tell us, we called GH they advised he was on his way back. He FINALLY came and acted as if he had done us a huge favor by returning! Can you say "more tip please"????? Anyway, food was still good-GRUBHUB SUCKS!!

Jennifer Y.

Yelp
Wow. Just wow. This is the most ingenious thing I've heard of in a while. Delicious food, amazing service both in the restaurant and in the shuttles. I wish this was a place in every single city next to every single stadium... alas. Parking is definitely ample. Showed up 30 minutes before a concert and there were spots left in the original parking lot as well as their satellite lots. There are about 5 shuttles from what I witnessed, but perhaps there are a few more. Reasonably it takes a while for the shuttle to pick you up and take you to the stadium; I wouldn't be waiting till last minute. Stand in line for the shuttle at least 30 min-1hr before you want to get there. After the event is even worse; there's terrible traffic getting out of AT&T Stadium and it just can't be helped. Don't be tempted to Uber or Lyft - the charges are outrageous and they take longer than the buses anyway. Just be patient. The food itself at J Gilligan's is also pretty decent. The burgers were fresh and filling, and the fries were well seasoned and delicious. No complaints about this ingenious little place; just a lot of compliments.

Lieles H.

Yelp
Terrible. Used to be fantastic. Was fantastic for 30 years. The food tastes really old and rhe meat seems spoiled. Smelled weird. Tasted rotted. If I had not done a delivery order I would have walked it back in. Maybe changed ownership? Something is deadly wrong.

Nan T.

Yelp
An easy going spot with good food!! Their cottage fries are phenomenal. The burger is good too but I'd skip the club sandwich if I came back again. They have a great assortment of cocktails and their beer menu is super impressive. Staff was so kind and friendly. Tons of seating and a really laid back environment.

Charles A.

Yelp
Another great Saturday night at J Gilligan's!! We left a movie hungry and decided to go here. Love the food, beer and atmosphere. A little bit of everything going on. Rodeo people, UTA people, there was a band getting ready in the bar, new people iphone picturing the place. Had the philly sandwich it was great and a beer. And of course Irish Nachos Randy was there as usual!!! Good time So March 17, 2022,,,, Where else should you be??? Randy Ford knows how to turn the place Green!!! Been going here since 1993!!! Only gets better. If looking for a St Patrick's location,,, go today!!

Two Words: Irish Nachos - Seriously. It's the thing to get here. It makes for a great appetizer or even a meal. I'd say the full order is enough for 4 people to share for an appetizer or 2 people to share as a meal. You can even get it to-go. You will not be disappointed!
