We ordered the Korean table d’hôte A, and it was amazing. The food was really delicious, and I honestly didn’t expect so many dishes. The roasted fish in the main course was a highlight—super tasty. The meal also came with side dishes and finished with dessert, which made the whole experience feel complete. It was a very happy and enjoyable dinner. Next time, I’d love to try the Korean table d’hôte B and their restaurant specialty. The staff were very friendly, polite, and spoke great English. They explained the dishes at just the right times without interrupting our meal, which made us feel really comfortable.

This place serves "set dinner". All the dishes are place on a wood table top. The staff than brings the table top over to our dinning table,and slides it on top of it. Most of the food are served cold. While they all taste good, I prefer all dishes are served hot. That said, I also enjoy the various types of Korean food at the same time All in all, it is a different , yet pleasant, experience to have Korean food this way

I was super pumped after seeing some awesome videos and reviews on Instagram. But alas, the food wasn’t as great as I had imagined. Everything was either way too salty, way too sweet, or just plain boring. On the bright side, the service was incredible, and the presentation was top-notch. I’m not sure if I’ll be back, but I’m glad I gave it a shot.

We had our friend’s birthday dinner here and the food was amazing! Great presentation, pacing, and flavors. The staff was very accommodating and courteous. We enjoyed every single dish and we will definitely be coming back.

J Korean offers a traditional Korean cuisine experience. Their menu is simple consisting of three options ranging from 50, 70, and 100 dollars per person. It is a three course meal where can enjoy and savor every single Banchan and meat and fish items that's included in the course. Highly recommend!

Definitely an amazing experience! Some dishes were not to our taste but we still enjoyed tasting new flavors and dishes that we do not get to eat often in the midwest. Service was amazing and very friendly! The 3 course meal was definitely worth the money!

This place is really wonderful with fantastic food and service. Such a treat to eat at such a unique restaurant. If you are a foodie this is the place to go. You will truly experience something special here. Totally different than what happens at a “high-end” restaurant.

J Korean Restaurant gave me a great experience. I do not think it has been open very long but they already run things well. It is around fifty dollars a person and you get about forty different items to try, which makes the meal feel fun and generous. The appetizers stood out right away. The noodles were amazing and the pumpkin soup was comforting and full of flavor. The bigger sides like the Galbi Jim were also great and so tender. There are a lot of fish dishes here. If you do not like fish this will not be your spot, but I was full and enjoyed myself even though I do not love fish. The variety is impressive and you get to taste a bit of everything. Service was amazing. They checked in on us constantly and took great care of the table. The food was great across the board and the entire experience felt smooth and welcoming. I would come back.

Why go to Korean to eat yummy and delicious food when you can get it here! It's delicious and you almost feel like royal when you come! Every single dish is so good. If you haven't tried this place, what are you waiting for! Stop scrolling just go! It's a place where you should definitely try. I'm scared that this place will get so popular that I might have to wait a long time. For the price you pay you get so much more! Place has a traditional Korean feel and it's spacious, clean and simple.

Hanjeongsik is a formal and traditional Korean meal, and this restaurant delivers it beautifully. It is colorful, elaborate, and seemingly endless, filling every inch of the table and then some. When we dined here, it was a prix-fixe menu, charged per guest. The entire spread arrived on a large wooden board that slid over the table, just like how I experienced it in Korea. The variety was impressive, with countless side dishes and standout mains such as braised short ribs (Galbi Jjim), deep-fried white fish, and Hamburg steak. Even the water was unique--a refreshing herbal tea blend. After the main courses, they served dessert: frozen persimmon, traditional Korean snacks, and a sweet rice punch. It was the perfect way to close an already memorable meal, and we left full and satisfied. The space itself is warm and inviting, with beautiful artwork on the walls. For special occasions, you can even reserve a private room by calling ahead. One thing that stood out to me, however, was that the dining room wasn't very full. It made me think the restaurant could benefit from rebranding. The current name doesn't quite capture the elegance and authenticity of the experience. Possibly a new name that reflects the aura and quality of the food might draw more people in and better represent what this place truly has to offer.

Wow such an incredible and unique dinner! Had a fantastic time and the food was so delicious. Everything was unique and the service was lovely. Unfortunately parking lot gets real full real quick so best bet would be street parking if possible. The meal was about $50/person

I saw an Instagram post and decided to take my family here to celebrate my mom's birthday. The spread is incredible; everything was meticulously curated and cooked, with unique Korean side dishes. I was able to see the care and effort it took to make each dish. A great culinary experience

Came here to try the $50/pp traditional Korean meal. Presentation is impressive and massive. They literally slide a tabletop filled with food on your table since it would take so long to move plates and dishes over. I thought that was pretty ingenious. They have two rounds of food, first set up is appetizers and meat, second set is with rice and soup to finish the meal. Service was prompt and efficient. I didn't think the price was too bad considering how much food you get. My only issue is that every dish was OK but nothing was amazing. I think it's great if you're new to Korean food and want to try a variety of items, but otherwise, I'm not sure it was enticing enough for us to go back. Nothing was too memorable, I guess. The restaurant is under same ownership as Boritgogae, which we really like, so our expectation might have been a little too high. Lastly, I thought the decor could be nicer, maybe add a little more character and make it cozier or traditional. Just something to make it a little different since right now there is no ambience at all. Recommend trying once for the experience. Definitely different from any other K restaurant in LA.

Came here with a group of 4 and we weren't asked if what we were going to order. Not sure if there's a set 'menu' that everyone gets, but our waitress also didn't get us any water until 20 minutes in :( She seemed really busy, but just didn't check in with our table. We just got seated immediately and it took around 25 minutes for the first set to come out. The sets look like an insane amount of food, but most of them are just small eats and bites. Some of the dishes are definitely on the adventurous side. I consider my palette to be very adventurous already, as I love things like chicken feet, raw marinated crab, duck tongue, etc. However, I think some of the dishes here were too adventurous even for me. We had some raw seafood that we had no clue what it was, and it just tasted like straight ocean and mush. Outside of the interesting side dishes, I think the main courses of pork, beef, and cooked fish were really good. This will probably be a one time experience for me, as most of the dishes were kind of bland or just a little too oceanic for me.

Amazing Korean restaurant that serves authentic Korean food somewhat like fusion style..but pretty good.

Truly a taste of Korea. Liked that the dishes were not relying on salt for their flavor, but on its natural taste. We just got the $59/person set course, but they said in a few weeks they would bring down the cost a little bit more. I love that they have the raw marinated crab. The galbi Jim was so tender, my kid who normally doesn't like the texture of beef ate it. Would I come again? While I ate it, I thought I would. But after eating it, I'm not sure. There is so much variety in koreatown I'm not sure this place has any one dish that makes me "have to go there again." Maybe once in a while for a special occasion. Liked that they had all these paintings in the Korean village theme, it was nice to pretend I was traveling to one. Love the sliding table!

We came to J Korean Restaurant on a late Friday afternoon. Valet parking is available for $3, and thankfully, it wasn't too busy when we arrived. The dining experience is unique -- they bring out a full spread of Korean delicacies by placing a table-sized cover loaded with dishes right over your table. At the time, only the $50 per person set menu was available, which included appetizers, mains, sides, and dessert -- about 40 items total. Highlights included salted pollock roe, pickled radish wraps, and grilled black cod. Everything was flavorful, and the presentation was impressive. The ambiance was clean and modern, and the service was top notch -- very personal, including deboning the fish tableside and walking us through each dish. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience a generous and thoughtfully curated Korean meal.

Food was great, but service was better! Everything was bitesized, but after having 100 bite sized food, you get really full. Was a great experience!

This place was closed for a month to remodel interior and reopened. Everything has been improved and we loved the new atmosphere. And the food quality got much better!! This is the place for the special occasion and the best Korean food you can experience.

It was such a precious experience. I had never eaten so many delicious, homemade Korean dishes all at once before. The meal began with the table completely covered with plates, which made me feel so excited. Then, when the rice was served, I thought it would just come with soup, but to my surprise, it was accompanied by seaweed and about eight different side dishes. There was so much food that I couldn't finish it all -- I even had enough left for lunch the next day. On top of that, after the meal, they served sikhye and dessert, leaving me completely satisfied. The restaurant was spotless, and the service was excellent. Highly recommend!!

One of the highlights of this restaurant is the moving table stacked with classic ingredients that form the foundation of traditional Korean cuisine, it's a feast for both the eyes and the palate. We went with their $50 per person set menu, and it was incredibly generous. We couldn't even finish it all! The service was attentive and friendly, and parking was super convenient since it's located in its own plaza. Overall, it was a wonderful way to experience authentic Korean flavors right here in Los Angeles.

Super clean with excellent service. I took my dad for Father's Day--he loves simple Korean food, and he gave it his stamp of approval. We ordered Combo A, which came with a variety of dishes and felt just like homemade cooking. For the amount of food, the price was very reasonable. Everything tasted fresh and authentic. The service was great and the food came out quickly. I also loved that all the artwork on the walls was painted by the owner--such a cute touch. It truly felt like being in Korea. Very traditional and comforting.

if someone wanted to try korean food for the first time, this is probably what i'd recommend as it represents a wide sample of the diversity of korean food. there must have been around 30-40 small dishes/banchan and main dishes containing protein from beef and pork to seafood to try. they bring the first round of food out on a large rolling table that slides over the dining table providing a theatric entrance for your dishes. the food is soothing and soulful. a second wave comes with rice and soup with an additional 7 or so banchan. then finally, the course meal ends with some candied korean fruit and crackers. when I first went, there wasn't a menu available yet as they only had one available menu, set A, which was $50 pp. the second time i went, they added on a B and C set with more premium menu options such beef head, abalone, galbi, and marinated crab options. you probably would not feel any absence of options with set menu A, but if you like the particular dishes they provide in menu B or C, you most likely will not be disappointed given the caliber and quality of food here. definitely left feeling full, but in a clean food kinda way, similar to how i feel after a sushi meal. however, i wasn't hungry a few hours later. met the owner/chef lady here who is responsible for borit gogae, another one of my home-y korean restaurants in the area, and also a part of the same restaurant group. it's a labor of love since there's so much work that goes into providing the table setting that J provides. given the quality, abundance, and variety of food, the $50 entry menu is a bargain. service is efficient and polite. if you're not familiar with korean food, they'll point and explain what's what to your dining party. the restaurant setting is calming and home-y itself. i'll definitely be back when i'm craving clean and homecooked caliber korean food with so many options. this is a unique korean food experience in koreatown. try for yourself.

Terrible experience. 1. Parking lot issue. Waiting for 40 min. Finally double parked. 2. Expensive. Food is dried. Looks like they cooked several times. 3. Only one menu 4. Hanjeongsik is expensive menu because can try many knids of food. But this place's taste is not good. Not authentic. Also very loud place.

Some dishes were amazing, some were so-so. But overall delicious . It was like I was in korea! Loved it.

Good experience. Homemade style Korean dishes. Just our meat dashes weren't "hot" enough. While we saw other table same meat dishes were smoking hot. But we will return. Good service

There was only one food option available which was the $50 person meal. But the food was delicious and the presentation was great. They put everything on a table and slid it over your existing table. My only complaint is that there was so much food and banchan that they couldn't fit it all on the first table. The second batch of food had some dishes that I would have liked to eat first. Service was good and quick but it would have been nice to have an explanation of what everything was.

Really good spot, nice service. The food was very great. We got the fried chicken, dumplings and the kim chi fried rice. The spices were so yummy! I loved all the pickled options - radish, pickles, kimchi, etc. So good! I also liked the korean beer - krush. Was cold and the bottle was big :)

I have been to borit gogae and loved that style of meal. I knew coming here would be good since it is the same owner/chef. They are different and both are amazing sets. Got the set A which was very good, came with lots of seafood and meat including marinated crab. Service was quick and polite. They were kind in explaining what everything was and did not mind our questions. Place is tidy and small but is already a hit with Koreans. Would recommend due to large variety of options to eat.

As someone who has experienced and enjoyed this style of restaurant in Korea all over Seoul for more than half the price, this was a letdown. Pros: service is nice and prompt Restaurant is clean Cons: the price is not justified $50pp for the lowest tier; the day we went that was the only option available so I can't speak for the pricier set menus. Dishes are not fresh, many were dry, possibly from being prepared in advance? Great concept to bring to LA but poorly executed. Would recommend going to their other restaurant borit gogae instead.

Such a clean, pleasant atmosphere with elaborate preset/fixed menu of sooo many Korean banchan (side dishes), main dishes (fish, galbi jim, Korean hamburger patties, etc that fill the whole table top. Def meant for sharing, which was perfect for our group of 9. Each set served 3 (altho it could honestly service 4). Highly recommend for anyone who eats all things Korean.

Party of 15 crazy ass adults. The crew handled us beautifully. The food was delicious and service was amazing. Extra shout out to Larry. He was so attentive and remembered EVERYTHING we asked for. Love him!

This restaurant opened a month ago. The food looks good, but it's not all that sweet and the prices aren't cheap.

Went there after seeing advertised opening. Surprised they didn't open as advertised. Drived a long distance. What a disappointing experience.
