Creative burgers, 100+ beers, quirky toppings & pet-friendly tables

"Jack is beloved around these parts, and for good reason. A burger here is easy and feels uncomplicated—the beef is beefy, boasting proudly on the menu that it’s 100% American wagyu and tasting like it. Sure, some on the menu have toppings like habanero jelly and Skippy peanut butter or mac and cheese, but here we’re going with the Classic Jack. There’s caramelized onions, “JB sauce,” riddled with red bell pepper notes, american cheese, and pickles that don’t skimp on the garlic. The space is small—it feels like an enclosed garage—and we prefer eating at the bar over getting a real table. They’ve even got movies on the TV to keep you company if you’re by yourself." - Ann Walczak

"This Virginia import (with locations in both Edgehill and Germantown) has a strong Wagyu burger game with quirky toppings you’ll be hard-pressed to find around the city. Popular options include the Frankie Brady, crowned with mac and cheese and barbecue potato chips, as well as the Cobra Kai with cream cheese, pickled jalapenos, and jalapeno jelly." - Ellen Fort

"Jack Brown’s may bill itself as a bar that happens to serve a fantastic burger (all made with 100% American wagyu beef, incidentally), but dogs will love it for its pet-friendly tables located in the bar’s backyard. Grab one of the 100-plus craft beers available and let Fido bask in all of the attention they’re bound to get." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

"Jack Brown’s in neighboring Germantown experienced extensive damage from the tornado, and seeing colleagues come together to support one another after that devastation had a big impact on me early in our time here." - Delia Jo Ramsey

"After sustaining damage to its roof, deck, and equipment during last month’s devastating tornado, Jack Brown’s Germantown location is back in the game with a small but mighty menu focused on what it does best: burgers and beer. The Nashville locations are currently offering a limited food menu that includes their infamous American Wagyu patty burgers, grilled cheese sandwiches, and fried Oreos, with local favorites like the mac-n-cheese-stuffed "Greg Brady" and the barbecue-sauced "Cowboy" still available. They're open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. for curbside pickup and delivery, and the drink selection includes sweet tea, bottles of wine, growlers (about $16), six-packs ($7.49–$14.99), and individual cans and bottles at half price. General manager Casey Hinman noted the outpouring of community support—Edgehill staff helped with cleanup, many regulars checked in despite being displaced, and the size of tips for the staff has been incredible." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones
