This nostalgic American diner serves up giant, juicy burgers and a diverse menu, all within a cozy, Western-themed atmosphere.
"Not to be confused with a resort town in Wyoming, Jackson Hole has been a staple of the Upper East Side since 1972. The dark, winding dining room—complete with stained glass lighting fixtures and posters of old western movies—is the kind of place that we would say has been completely untouched by time, if it didn’t also have menus on tablets. The entrance goes through a kitchen, where the smell of thick, seven-ounce burgers and a seemingly endless supply of potatoes frying waft through your nostrils. The long menu also seems unchanged by time (it includes a “South Of The Border” section), but the main reason to come here is for their various cheeseburgers. They’re giant, sloppy messes, with juicy beef and simple toppings, and there’s at least one on every table. Their Astoria location, equally burger-forward, was featured in Goodfellas. photo credit: Will Hartman" - Will Hartman
"Although the original 70s-era Queens diner is closed, Jackson Hole’s Manhattan locations are still slinging this popular burger. The diner was one of the first to specialize in the metal-dome style of burger, in which thick patties are cooked under a metal bowl to ensure even cooking. Both the Murray Hill restaurant at 521 Third Avenue and the Upper East Side outpost at 232 East 64th Street are currently offering delivery and takeout via Seamless, Grubhub, delivery.com, and Postmates. Orders can also be placed via phone at 212-679-3264 for the Murray Hill location, and 212-371-7187 for the UES." - Carla Vianna
