What they severly lack in flavor they attempt to make up for in portion size but dont be fooled. The food was completely dry and tatseless. I ordered a spare rib tips with and sesame chicken both with pork fried rice and a side order of chicken wings. I still don't understand how my order came to over 50 dollars for two plates and wings. The chicken wings are listed as an 8 piece, but what I got instead was four wings chopped. Infuriating ! Plus, they give you egg rolls with your platter but fail to mention that they have shrimp in them. Thankfully, I tried it first because my husband is allergic. I asked over the phone if the spare ribs have the red sauce, and the implication was that the plate combo I ordered came with it. I received two sauces on the side, both of which I did not ask for nor know what they are. Plus, it didn't make sense to get two soy sauce packages for two large plates of food. Needless to say, I won't order here again. Very upsetting and highly dissatisfied. This seems like a place you can only get trashed at because a majority of the 5 start reviews are from people who have had drinks. Kinda low if you have to attract customers by getting the inebriated.

A family style Chinese Restaurant like I remember from the 70s still going strong. This is no Chinese Take Out. A little bit tiki too with grass huts and drinks. Very Happy

Jade Island gets this year's award for outrageous price gouging. Their insanely stratospheric prices: $25.50 for Beef with Garlic Sauce; $24.25 for Shrimp with Lobster Sauce, are representative of the opportunistic, greed-driven price increases one sees across the restaurant board. The food is pretty good, but there are countless other Chinese restaurants with similar menus making less overpriced food that is no worse than what comes of of Jade Palace's kitchen. The fact is that the wholesale prices for the common, mid-quality ingredients that are found in every dish prepared by virtually every Chinese restaurant have not doubled or tripled in price. But those dishes are now commonly priced that way. It's unfortunate that so many restaurants that don't rely on rare ingredients have taken the "inflation" news wind and raised prices that are keeping me away. When compared to the prices at Shun Lee Palace, located at 55th Street and Third Avenue in Manhattan, generally acknowledged as New York's most expensive Chinese restaurant, Jade Island is now charging about 2/3 of Shun Lee's prices on virtually everything. Shun Lee is a white tablecloth restaurant with a formally attired wait staff located in midtown Manhattan that has been open for 50+ years. Jade Island is none of that. These money grabs are not confined to Jade Island, but it is one of the more egregious offenders. Staten Island's isolation and lack of restaurant competition s part of this, uninformed customers who will simply pay without question is another part. We are already seeing reactive discounts spurred on by price resistance to fast food item prices and other restaurant offerings. I'll be surprised if Jade Island doesn't react to consumer sentiment in the same way.

Super fun restaurant with great food and cool drinks. Our server was friendly and really made us feel welcome. We ordered too much food!! Will absolutely go back. Loved the egg rolls❤️

Massive portions, but its quantity over quality. The sweet and sour chicken wasn't very good, but the fried rice and general's chicken were. Depends on what you get whether or not its worth it. Cool presentation on the platter though!

A great place to drink, eat and relax. Food are tasty. Chicken wings and BBQ ribs with special in-house made sauces are must-eat. They also offer great cocktail options, which are flavourful and well-balanced in taste. No need to mention the homey atmosphere and attentive services. Nancy is the sweetest!

Used to be my favorite restaurant. Truly not the same place. Food is so expensive and doesn’t have the same flavor. Recently Iv found hair in my food or other particles. The servers and owner was extremely rude as well. They accidentally charged my card twice and refused to refund because they “didn’t understand English.” The restaurant seemed very dirty and deserves lower then their B grade.

Food was delicious and reminded me of old school NYC chinese food. The service was great and the atmosphere was like walking through a time machine. Will definitely be back!

I had a good experience at a Jade Island. The drinks were good and the food was quite tasty. While we didn't order a lot of food, I had the beef fried rice and an appetizer sampler. All were delicious. Looking forward to going back to try more dishes.

At one time this restaurant was the best compared to Mahjong that used to be in Brooklyn. They changed hands and they went downhill faster than the speeding bullet.

Jade island, though I feel decor-wise is slightly confused about what it is (is this a Chinese restaurant? Or are we on a tropical island in the middle of the ocean...) all I can really say is that this place is awesome. The staff may be the nicest people I've ever met. A man came up to us who I believe is the manager or the owner and kept asking if everything was going alright or if there was anything he could get us. The waitstaff was quick and courteous. The food was great. The food is like an upscale version of what you can get from a typically Chinese delivery place, but with an expanded menu with some gems. The Pu Pu platter, which literally had a fire in the middle of it, was both cool as a centerpiece in the table as well as just being an EXCELLENT appetizer platter. Highly recommend this establishment any time, any occasion.

I came here on the recommendation of a co-worker. I was hesitant based on the reviews, and I'd normally have past on going here. Turns out my feeling was right. The decor is a throw back, but I think it adds to the charm of the place. Service was solid, and fast. The food was hot. My issue is that none of the food was good. The best item was the spare ribs. The flavor was good, but they were so tough. The dumplings were doughy... More like the pork was wrapped in pastry. It consumed any flavor and made the dumpling chewy. The Jade Island Duck got it's flavor from the sauce only. The duck itself was overcooked, but also lacked flavored and seasoning. The beef and broccoli... Just bad. I cannot recommend this place. I was completely dissatisfied and disappointed.

Fantastic 70's tiki ambiance. Food was tasty with large portions. Staff were welcoming and attentive. Deff give their Mai Tai a go.

I have basically lived my whole life on Staten Island and I tried Jade island with the family about a few months ago. Been going back ever since lol love the food . We keep it simple . Chicken fried rice . Chicken Lo Mien , Service is great , only down side the BBQ Spare Ribs were kinda dry but that's my only complaint.

If I could give it a zero I would. What a waste of money. That was the worst Chinese food ever. I would have been better off buying frozen PF Chang's from ShopRite. We ordered and did not eat any of the food. Took a couple of bites and left everything. The dumplings where so doughy and empty inside. The rice tasted as it was made in the morning and was sitting in a vat all day- gummy tasteless and cold. The ribs smelled gamey and porky and so greasy We complained to the manager about it his response was " Do you know how many dumpling I sold today." He saw we left our food in it's entirety and did not care. I can't believe they are still in business. What a shame, used to be so good. I will never go back so gross

My family was visiting in Staten Island had their Chinese food last week. THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD! Now I am from Texas and the Chinese food here is horrible panda express like. The portions are ridiculous way too much food, worth every penny The BEST

This place means a lot to my family and today I was thrilled to have my daughter try some of the best Chinese food in the world for the first time. Worth the trek coming back to SINY from the Jersey Shore for their soup , spare ribs , butterfly shrimp , and yes even the steak. For dessert a plate full of jello, pineapples, and ice cream to bring it on home. Cocktails served in a hollowed out pineapple is where it's at! They treat you like family here too and we've been coming here for 40 years. Can't wait to come back!!!

The owners changed, the food went downhill. We ate at the restaurant and a mouse fell out of a ceiling tile and dropped on to the floor. We walked out. Food was very overpriced. Won't eat here again.

Came all the way from NJ and to get turned away, at 9:10 pm because manager stated that they were closing. Website say 9:30 pm on yelp and on another site it says 11:00 pm. Very disappointed to say the least.

it's been 20 years since I was last here and surprisingly it hasnt changed one bit. The same Polynesian look, with floating blowfish and that distinctive tiki look made me feel right at home. In fact I came straight here directly from the airport. I didn't even need to see the menu. I was prepared for the same meal I had over two decades ago, Wonton soup, dim sum and shrimp with lobster sauce. The wonton soup was so good, large fluffy wontons floating in a rich broth covered with large slabs of roast pork. The dim sum that followed were pleasantly salty with that thick oyster sauce based topping, but the shrimp and lobster sauce was by far the best I've had in a very long time. Im so happy that after decades of being away, I could return home and find this gem of a restaurant still there, still welcoming guests and providing amazing meals. Without hesitation I can sincerely recommend Jade Island.

Bring your appetite and have fun. If you have more then 5 in a party make reservations early that day.

I've lived and visited many places and ate alot of Asian cuisine. Jade island was always my favorite and always will be. When covid hit and many places closed I was very worried about it. Happy to report the place is still around and kicking butt! Perfect unchanging dorky decor..a step back in time. Food stays wonderful and staff is always friendly and interesting.. #pleasedontgo

Been over 10 years since I been here and have to say the food was good just like I remembered. Starting off with cocktails which are made the right way . Mai Tai's are the way to go and appys were steamed dumplings followed by a seafood edible basket which we shared. Decor looked like nothing has changed in the years since I been here but time capsule or not , worth it to come here and have a decent meal with friends.

Unfortunately, Jade Island is an aging restaurant with signs of slowing management and worsening customer service. This is so sad, I have been coming to Jade Island since 2003 and only just recently came back since the pandemic. I was here on December 15th, 2021 and I really do have to say the place changed for the worse. The quality of food has become bland and weird, almost too "commercialized". They must have switched to cheaper ingredients to cut costs, but I do notice that. The ambiance is the redeeming factor. There is no restaurant quite like Jade Island on Staten Island, and the interior is no joke. It's very warm and inviting inside as you choose a booth to sit down at. It's green and tropical themes are extremely pleasant. AND THE TIKI TORCHES All in all, the place USED to be spectacular. But after COVID, it seems this aging restaurant is beginning to show signs of slowing down. Get the Zombie, though; those are still a blast

i got sick over the food twice . i've never had a problem till recently, and it was the same thing I ate, which was steamed chicken with vegetables .with the sauce on the side, but I did notice that he took the house noodles, and I only ate a few of them . when i was done eating . The older waiter took them .and he put them on the side . I seen what he did .and he was going to give them to somebody else. I think that's why I'm getting sick .because people are touching the noodles. this is very unsanitary. This is a health issue. I am afraid to go back there .

I came here with my fiancé because to be honest we just wanted to try something different. Staff were friendly but food was ok. We ordered boneless spare rib tips appetizer and he ordered the sesame chicken with rice and something else. Honestly my ribs were so dry o didn't enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed his food. Lol Honestly I am willing to give this place another chance because I have heard good things but I will gladly take peoples advice and let me know what should I try there next time..

Having lived on Staten Island for many years any resident realizes the culinary institution that Jade Island represents. Hell....Anthony Bourdain and David Johansen raves about it. The decor is 1960's Tiki polynesian complete with beach backgrounds, bamboo huts and cocktails served in Pineapples. The food is great complete with Pu Pu Platters. The platter contains teriyaki chicken wings, spare ribs, teriyaki beef on a stick, chicken toast and chicken wrapped in bacon complete with the fire. I love Jade Islands riff on Dim Sum, 4 pieces to an order and they are huuuuggeeee! Boneless chicken over vegetables is one of our favorite entrees, Jade Islands version is the standard floured/corn starched chicken breast but their version has wonderful shredded vegetables and mushrooms underneath. Chow fun and steak ku are also great choices. If in the area, check out Jade Island.

Loved the decor and the staff! Our waitress had positive energy and entertaining. The drinks were really good! I thought that the food was good and the portion sizes were large. Can't wait to come back here!

I would never go to this place again and I've been going for over 45 years we order takeout on New Year's Eve waited 45 minutes for the food all of the chicken was dry and burnt half of our order was missing and when we called up the manager gave us a severe attitude never again will I ever go there or when I refer this place to anybody and he's the owner and how rude is he Giving me an attitude absolutely horrible I've been going to that place for over 50 years and I will never step foot in it again ever

Ordered out this evening because my son was under the weather. When you order out there is a potential that your order may be wrong and it's disappointing. Well, we put in a semi large order (85$ worth), and everything was hot, packed to the lids, and delicious! They packed in so much food, Nothing was missing. Tea bags, fortune cookies, and mints oh my! A bag of fried noodles for the soup! White rice that normally comes with the food are usually small, theirs were large! Leftovers for the next couple of days! Highly recommend Jade island! If you can't be there, definitely order from them! 5 !!

Disgusting food, deplorable service, a booth so small and cramped that not even a 10-year-old could find room enough to sit comfortably within it -- all told it was the worst dining experience I have suffered in 20 years of eating-out on Staten Island. The lowlights: A tiny bowl of wonton soup, the wontons filled with unseasoned pork, the soup itself tasting like warm tap water, the slices of pork dry, tasteless, and tough; Shrimp with lobster sauce with rubbery shrimp and unpleasant, especially viscous lobster sauce; Egg Foo Young with a multitude of hard, dry, tasteless cubes of pork and excessive onions instead of bamboo shoots; A waiter who removed the covers from two chafing dishes and walked away with them -- he had to be summoned to the table and instructed to return the covers so that our food might stay warm while we finished eating our egg rolls. Let me stop there lest I become unkind. To think that that blockhead David Johansson took Anthony Bourdain to this restaurant as a representative example of Staten Island food culture -- it makes my blood boil. Staten Island boasts at least 10 of the best Italian restaurants in NYC, yet Bourdain was brought to this sinkhole (not surprisingly, his comments were sneering and supercilious).

My family and I have gone to Jade Island for years . We go there when we want the Chinese food we grew up eating. My husband and I went in Saturday for dinner and we're extremely disappointed. We had won ton soup and told the waiter we wanted it hot. The waiter said he'd make sure , when he brought it, it was cold. We told the waiter and he said he'd put it in the microwave for us. That didn't thrill me and it was warmer, not really hot. The waiter said that no one else complained, which annoyed us. We also ordered beef lo menu and chicken chop suey, one of our favorites. The beef and chicken was tough, the chicken was in a brown sauce instead of the usual clear sauce. Neither dish had much seasoning and the soup broth was bland. We're never going back. I couldn't tell the manager because he was setting up another table.

Very nice authentic old school Chinese restaurant . Food is consistently good as are drinks , though alittle pricey . Service is pretty good too .

What a fing dump lol. Place is gross, glasses are dirty and I swear their portions have shrunk while the the prices go up?? But honestly the food is still solid. Sesame chicken(boring I know ) Was crispy big pieces of well cooked chicken, really tasty. Beef chow fun was good as well. And we all love the crispy noodles!!I feel the portions were slightly small but I will go back there agian. Warning you may need a tetanus shot if you use the bathroom Oh and please try the zombie, really good and strong.

This is truly Americanized Chinese food at it's finest, and has apparently been an establishment for YEARS; ask your parents - they probably came here and remember the Hawaiian island decor as well. All the way down to the Hawaiian T-shirts, the place reeks of days of old, when your parents would get an umbrella in their cocktail before the Pu Pu platter came out to the table. I used to bring home the umbrellas as a kid for my Barbies because you know, it rains sometimes too for Barbie. Oh creative minds! Our friend squealed with delight when his punch came with a sword through his cherry, because he too would bring the swords home for his G.I. Joes. Good times. Places like this are truly hard to come by, and this place on a Saturday evening, was JAMMED! Luckily, we made it before the rush with our party of four. Everything here is big. BIG tables. BIG noodles for dipping in your BIG duck sauce. BIG bowls of soup. BIG portions. I ordered the beef and garlic sauce, and my platter was the size of a diner plate. Overflowing with beef, shredded veggies, and globbed with sauce for my mountain of white rice. My rice portion alone was bigger than a quart. I ate happily, but it looked like I barely made a decent dent. My husband, sitting across the table, ordered the beef chow fun, and he was barely able to eat half of his noodles. If we knew the portions, we totally would of shared. Service was fairly quick, and we were checked on multiple times throughout the meal. We had our water glasses refilled numerous times without asking, and even the owner came over to us to ask how everything was. The place was filled with people of all ages, and every table was full. The takeout line was outta control, and it was obvious that this STILL is the go to place in Staten Island for Chinese food night out. At this point in my life, I don't normally crave this kind of Chinese food anymore, but it was a real treat to take a blast from the past a feel like a kid again.

not sure what the hype is about this place. but i know a lot of people like it. it has a kitschy vibe going on which is ok..the pina colada in the pineapple is very cool. but the food wasn't that great. most of the dishes we got were bland. and we were a large group so surprised they don't charge a gratuity as most places do. the server approached us asking about the service because he thought we gave a small tip but we did give 20% so that was weird. somehow a $20 was missing..i thought it was a bit pushy to question a tip but whatever.

Today is the 2nd time I've had food from this place. This review is solely on having them cater. The first time they catered was last year for like 40 people, everything was amazing! Today they catered for our holiday party, we had around 60 people. We literally had a little bit of everything. Faves: pepper steak with onions, garlic string beans, and spare ribs. Flip side...Not a fan of the wings at all! Overall everyone was really satisfied and several said how great the food is, so that's good. Dealing with staff to place such a large order was simple, they are friendly and the delivery was smooth. Will be doing business with them again!

Ordered jade island special soup, orange beef, and Mapo tofu. The soup is like a mix of hot and sour and egg drop with all the proteins in it. I loved it but it was not hot like hot and sour. The orange beef was absolutely perfect and so was the tofu. One less star because we asked for everything to be extra hot and it didn't come out spicy enough, not even close. Even the red chili oil wasn't spicy!! Service was great

I have been coming here since the mid 90s, maybe earlier.The food is amazing but the ambiance is even better. This place gives comfortable,fun,and nostalgic vibes. Great place to enjoy Exotic drinks and unique asian/polynesian dishes. They are a pioneer in their theme and set up which has been the same since day 1.

Came back to Staten Island and dined at Jade Island after a 40 year absence. The same awesome Polynesian decor. Service was prompt and friendly. Awesome Pu Pu platter, Wonton Soup, and Jade Island Steak. Drinks are tasty and served in cool Tiki cups (I had the "Headhunter"). Great pistachio ice cream. I will return soon.

I haven't been here in years and it was like I never left! The decor, service and food were all worth the trip back!! The quality and quantity of all of our meals did nit disappoint!

I have waxed poetically about other Tiki joints around this fair tri-state area, and now I can bring Jade Island into the fold. Before I went here I was bombarded with "ew, why" from naysayers who had NEVER BEEN, but I pressed on and was pleasantly surprised and elated to find this place was everything I wanted. (There's a reason these places last 50+ years, people!!!) You should rate Tiki Bars on ambiance and kitsch authenticity, and Jade Island certainly passes with flying colors. Decor that screams period kitsch? Check. Fake plastic flowers everywhere? Check. At least four fake waterfalls? Check. Numerous dead sea life embedded in all light fixtures? Check. Angry tiki mask next to the bathroom? Check. Drinks that are served in specifically themed glasses and come with minimum one umbrella and maraschino cherry? Check. Drinks that are described by feeling instead of ingredients? Check. The food here is also completely solid. Yeah, sure, it's nothing to like write home about specifically - its your run of the mill Chinese / Polynesian mix, but it's fresh and it's tasty and it's plentiful. One dish easily feeds two people. PLUS - If you order off the polynesian menu, specifically the excellent pu pu platter, I can assure you they do not skimp on the fire. That thing will burn the entire time its on your table and you're just like "Yeah. This is what I came for." Also had some sizzling beef and a lobster/pork/chicken and vegetable stir fry that was super solid. Their drinks are similarly A+, if not a little mysterious if you're not up on your tiki drink knowledge (descriptions like "a Hawaiian beach party" or "a whisper of almond" but no mention of which alcohol is in it.... hmmm). Everything I had here tasted fresh, good and was presented perfectly on theme. Service was friendly and prompt too! I have spent my whole life avoiding Staten Island. When I did come here it was only ever go to the (previously smelly) mall. LITTLE DID I KNOW... JUST DOWN THE BLOCK.. Existed the best damn tiki restaurant this side o' Jersey! Thanks Jade Island, I will now have to come back.

My wife got really sick from the food here the other day. She literally was throwing up for 4 hours and layed on the bathroom floor for the day which pinched a nerve in her back. How do we know it was from there? It was the only meal we had that day and the next morning she was sick as hell so she didn't eat anything after it. We called them to let them know that she got sick so they could check the food but they never called back after talking to someone who said they would forward the message. You would think the people would want to know this happened to check up on the food but you know, if its ignored it goes away.

The Vintage Polynesian Atmosphere is great The food less so.

I haven't been here in years, was not disappointed. A throwback to the Asian restaurants I remember from my youth. Service exceptional, food was delicious. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

I have been coming to Jade Island my entire life, my parents lived close to the restaurant and it was always there go to spot. The food has always been consistently good and it has been almost 2 years since I been here and I must say, my favorite dishes tasted exactly like they did for 40 years. Started with a piping hot bowl of wainton and egg drop soup mix, 3 nice fluffy wontons, nice slices of pork and seaweed (ok, it's bok choy but my dad always told us seaweed for some reason). We then got a pu pu platter which is a tray of fried and greasy foods with a gel stereo as a flame, can you say YUM!!! We also got an order of boneless ribs which were good in flavor but a little fattier than normal. For entrees, The coconut chicken is great and comes to the table crispy, covered in a sweet and sour sauce with coconut, cherries and rambutan (lychee) it is always a pleaser. The chicken and broccoli is a great mix of chicken and broccoli, many places fill you up on broccoli, not here. And we washed them down with headhunters which brought me back to my late teen early twenties when this was our go to drink. Always good, prices definately went up but it's worth it once and a while.

I am sad to write this review as my family and I have been patronizing Jade Island since 1992. On December 28, 2019, we went in person to the restaurant to submit a catering order to be delivered on December 31 (New Years' Eve) at 7PM. We purchased $300+ of food. On December 31, 7 PM passed and no delivery. After some time, we called the restaurant and were told that the food was on its way. Well, 8 PM came and still there was no food. It was very embarrassing as we were hosting a lot of people and they were gathered around the table. We drove to the restaurant and demanded our food. Although no one at the establishment was willing to admit it, it became clear they had forgotten our order and the person on the phone had lied about the food being on its way. The staff scrounged together some food but when we returned to the house, we realized the order was incorrect and they had cut corners. Instead of vegetable fried rice, there was pork fried rice. The chicken with broccoli was "broccoli with chicken". There was little to no chicken. The only item given in abundance was white rice. The food was disappointing and we were embarrassed in front of our guests. The most disappointing aspect is that the restaurant did not even try to make amends. Not even a discount or a sincere apology. We will no longer patronize Jade Island.

Horrible Disgusting So very Disappointed Staff smiled & laughed when I called them out on "their version" of Mongolian Beef! Never asked if we wanted dessert just came with check. Not even a THANK YOU at the register while paying! They should of been happy that we went there on this snowy rainy cold Monday night

Jade Island has been around for like 30 years!!! Their definitely doing something right. It's a mix of your typical Chinese/Polynesian food. I grew up dining here with my family, who absolutely love this place. Anytime I'm out with my mom and asks her where she wants to eat it's ALWAYS Jade Island. The portions are pretty big 2-3 people can easily share a dish. The service here is quick and so friendly. They get excited when you order a tropical cocktail (which are always strong) but hey I'm not complaining. Don't judge I work hard .

The only Chinese place that we enjoy sitting in to eat at. The food is always super fresh, the service is amazing, the restaurant has a full bar for alcoholic beverages, love they give you a fresh pot of tea at your table when you come . Friendly staff and a fantastic variety of entrees to choose from on their menu.

The experience I had tonight with friends at Jade Island Restaurant was not only a disgrace demonstrated by the manager and bartender in response to dissatisfaction with 2 drinks I ordered in the middle of the dining room on Saturday nite. We explained to the waiter the drinks didn't taste right. He told me to order 2 different drinks so I did. When they arrived those too had sour juice. Both the manger & came to the table at separate times to berate me about ordering drinks that were soured. Both thr manger and bartender were loud, aggressive and abusive because I returned drinks that were bad due to the juice being soured. They were told why we returned the drinks calmly and quietly but neither wanted to listen. The manger persisted in claiming how everyone in the restaurant was satisfied with their drink but us. What does that mean. Was there a vote taken on everyone's satisfaction with their drinks that evening. What does that mean anyway. Since when is it customary to argue with customers over dissatisfaction with drinks in the middle of a crowded dining room. How was our dissatisfaction with drinks debatable. Good customer service has been missing at this restaurant let alone respectful communication with your customers. Is this how a restaurant deals with complaints from their customers . Not loudly and aggressive. Usually a manager is there to calmly disarm any dissatisfaction with a customer with an apology and no questions,but not a Jade Island tonight. This manager would not take the drinks off the bill after my explaining the juice was sour.He said he would only take 1drink off the bill that was unacceptable and made no sense.He chose to create chaos in a crowed dining room and lose a 50 year customer.What happened to the customer being right.I deducted the drink off the bill and paid the check and left telling the manger I was not paying for the drink.This the worst experience I've encountered in a restaurant I patronized for 40 yrs.This behavior was outrageous by a manager to a customer and worst demonstration of customer service I ever experienced .BTW.

We ventured out to Staten Island to hit up the Tibetan Art Museum and decided to knock two birds down with one stone by heading over to Jade Island which was featured on a "No Reservations" episode a little while back. Seemed like a cool place and we were anxious to try their Pu Pu Platter. We got there kind of early..well early for us because we normally don't eat dinner until after 7 and we got there around 5:30. First thing I thought was this place needs a make over. It was decorated quite gaudy and outdated, but then I remembered..wait, I'm in Staten Island. Okay, yes, cheap shot, but this place is located inside the confines of a strip mall. This place was also pretty crowded for this time of the day on a Saturday night. Despite this, we were given very prompt and attentive service by our waiter throughout our dining experience. We of course started off with the Pu Pu Platter, not realizing how big that damn thing was! It was full of fried delights like shrimp, chicken wrapped in bacon, fried chicken patties, beef skewers and chicken wings. All were quite delicious. We actually did also order entrees which were very huge, I was so full from the appetizer, I could only manage to take a small amount of my actual entree. I got the kung po chicken which was really really good. I noticed that they do not go cheap with their selection of meats and everything is so fresh and flavorful! Really delicious food. Price was also fair and the amount of food you get is pretty substantial. I really recommend this place for some delicious Chinese/Polynesian food if you happen to be in Staten Island.
