Montreal’s Best Chinese Restaurants | Eater Montreal

"Chef Anita Yue Ming Feng’s compact lunch counter and grocery on Beaubien in Little Italy is a midday rice noodle resto for slurping her Sichuan-style bowls, with grab-and-go options for dinner. Feng has carefully selected a range of quality ingredients to play with at home: vinegars, rice, noodles, sauces, and at least two kinds of buzzy peppercorns are available, too." - Ivy Lerner-Frank

Where to Get a Lunar New Year Feast in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"Chef Anita Feng is inaugurating the first Lunar New Year at her Beaubien East épicerie with a Sichuan-inflected feast for two, mashing up her passion for spice with some nostalgic dishes from her childhood. The spread includes tiger (laohu) salad, radish cake, Yuxiang-style stuffed cabbage, mouthwatering (saliva) chicken, and two golden salted egg baozi. Pre-order essential, with pickup on January 29." - Ivy Lerner-Frank

I’ve heard of it for a long time but finally got to try it. Super authentic flavor, as I am Chinese. But I wouldn’t mind to pay extra if they top some veggies, minced meat in the bowl. My noddle bowl only has noodles, would love to have some variety.

Everyday great noodles you get 2 choices, one with meat, one vegetarian. The noodles always have really deep flavours and creative mix of ingredients. The menu changes every so often. They serve food from 12 to 3 or until they run out of it. Get there early! There are 7 seated places, plan for takeout if you’re 3 or more 20$ for some of the best noodles in town, definitely the best in the neighborhood

Excellent service, excellent food… I am obsessed with this spot! By far the best noodles I’ve had in Montreal! Everything on the menue is just amazing, fresh, of high quality and fairly priced considered the quality! Also forgot to add that the owners are literal angels! I strongly recommend.. I’ll be coming back very soon 😍

Tasty dish. I always dine in (get there early or get lucky for a seat) if not i recommend take out. Short menu but well executed. A place to go back again and again.

Best noodle soup you can find in Montreal. No words can describe the richness and depth of the broth - just absolutely breathtaking. Their seating area might be small, but the waiting time is never very long. The staff is also super sweet and accomodating :) Must try if you’re in Montreal!

Flavour is catered to caucasiens living in the neighbourhood but still good and original being the few sichuan flavour restaurants in the french area. Could be more authentic by adding numbing sichuan peppercorn and vinegar as the soup lacks acidity. Hope they can just cater to Chinese people and i’m sure the regulars would like it even more. It is spicy enough though even for me coming from Sichuan.

Menu changes every week, only two options - all great, but if you see noodles with sesame sauce, drop everything you’re doing and just go. Thank me later

I eat here and I feel like I'm in China. Go early so you don't risk them selling out.

Yelp
Love this little spot! It's a mix of take out counter / a few seats to eat there / a small specialized grocery. There are two daily noodle options to choose from (varies between soup / noodles with sauce / warm / cold). The two options vary a lot, but there's always one that's with meat and one that's vegetarian, often with tofu and vegetables. It's often spicy and always has great depth of flavour. The ingredients taste fresh and there seem to be an effort put into choosing local and seasonal products. Watch out to go somewhat close to opening time as they tend to sell out in the early afternoon! There's also a fridge with a few other options you can purchase (ex. fried rice, smashed cucumber, eggplants). The cook and the front of store lady are both very kind and welcoming. This place seems pretty successful already, wish them all the best!

Yelp
Added to my Montreal Favorites List. I love everything about this shop. You can tell there is so much TLC that goes into each dish. The flavors are really well thought-out and balanced. The price is right too. Super friendly staff, and I love the business model, giving lots of creative freedom to the chef, not being boxed in by the same meals every day. Ordered a bunch of different things and literally 5-stars across the board. I will DEFINITELY be returning here regularly going forward. I hope they stay around for a while... do yourself a favor and go visit this restaurant / grocery / Chinese deli
