Love this place! Great pizza and love that it is family owned! The new expansion and bar service is a great addition. I ordered Lasagna and Spaghetti with Meatballs to Go. Since I moved out of the area.

Best bar patio, pizza, and pasta in South Minneapolis. Good food with good people. Stop in for happy hour and stay for dinner. It was so good I brought a frozen pizza home!

Have only ordered from door dash and it was everything I was expecting. Their reviews on door dash are very good which is what made me order. I love the thin crust style square cut pizza which is what I got and it did not disappoint. The flavor was excellent and was cooked very well, I also like the style where the pepperoni are under the cheese. In addition I got the spaghetti. It was good but I personally felt the flavor was lacking a bit given how flavorful the pizza sauce was but it was still good. Would recommend for an Oder out idk how the atmosphere or seating is for eating in.

This is a small neighborhood restaurant with a small bar. I went with a friend for lunch and got a medium pepperoni and sausage. The pizza was tavern style and was cooked to perfection. The sauce was sweet and tasty. Additionally, I got the spicy garlic wings— they were crispy, meaty, and tasty, with a very slight heat. Also, they have 1919 root beer on tap with free refills!

The artichoke dip was amazing. Cute and quaint place eclectic but happy environment. Food was pretty good. The wine glasses are clean!

Been here four times, twice for pizza, and twice for the bar food. The pizza side is ok, but the only edible bar food is the wings. I actually got sick from the pretzel cheese sauce today. I would only really recommend drinking here.

WOW - what a great experience! We pre-ordered the Jakeeno's signature Chocolate Mocha cake for a birthday. Came in to pick it up and checked out their new bar. Ordered drinks and Spinach Artichoke dip while waiting for our togo order (YUM!) Great tap beer selection and also played some pull tabs... my wife hit a $300 tab! We ordered the lasagna and chicken florentine (which we ordered cold to be heated at home) Also picked up some of their pasta sauce and frozen pizzas. The togo food heated up perfectly and we had the cake the following day. So convenient with their off street parking lot. Our service was friendly, quick AND ""spot on" for accuracy. Talk about a true neighborhood gem. We stumbled across this super cute, cozy Pizza and Pasta spot in South Minneapolis. This sister run spot has been around for 49 years! Always family owned and operated. It was a Monday evening and they run an all you can eat spaghetti deal for $10. Yeah. $10!!! What a steal. On top of that pints are $4 on Mondays. This spaghetti was phenomenal. I was truly blown away by the perfect cook on the noodles and the delicious, meaty red sauce. It brought all the feels and childhood memories from eating spaghetti growing up. Except my mom's was never this good (don't tell her). Service was also awesome. Our server was fast and friendly and the owner even came over to say hello and ask if everything was good. I am super excited to come back for pizza. Picked up some garlic bread to pair with our pizza for dinner. It was okay, but not I'd get again. It reminded me of the frozen Texas toast you can find at a grocery store. I would be willing to try this location again for dinner as a few other things on their menu peaked my interest.

Ordered a pepperoni pizza to pick up and it was ready when promised and really good. Sauce had nice flavor, plenty of toppings and cooked to perfection. The servers were friendly on the phone and welcomed me with a smile when I got there. Ample seating with both high tops and tables had I chose to eat in. Also looked like a good wine and beer selection.

This is our first time back since they closed during the pandemic. Food is still great as before. Our go to is the Chicago super and Reuben pizza. The spaghetti is also a must. First time trying their tomato basil soup and it's delish. Very creamy and full of flavors. Service was great and prompt. The dining area is a little sparse but they are still getting back to normal after closing their dining during the pandemic. So no games available to play while you wait for your food. Love the new kids coloring page though. Lots of activities to keep the kids entertain for a bit. The place can get loud with full dining area of patrons and they have a patio on the side of the restaurant. Definitely coming back.

Recently I've just been in for salad, spaghetti and 1919 root beer. The pasta is quite good, as is both the marinara sauce and the meat sauce. It's been a number of years since I tried the stuffed shells. No pizza yet either. I was there around 3:00 so it wasn't busy inside. Service was good. They were busy with people coming in to pick up food.

I dont know what going on there service sucks We ordered a pizza at 4 it did not arrive til 8 and when it finally arrived it was cold and left at the front door we weren't even notified their service in the past was better than this lately it's been horrible.

Decent pizza until we found a bug baked into one slice. Gross. It's not small either.

Ordered a pizza, artichoke dip and meatballs with sauce and cheese for delivery through Yelp - with tip cost was 69.99 - turns out Jakeeno's manager tells me my dinner was stolen by Grub Hub driver and there is nothing they can do - surprised because I have been a long term Jakeeno's pizza customer for many years, I am not a grub hub customer and am a little bit in shock right now...

Such a great local treasure. I'm a particular fan of their thin crust pizza. I haven't gone wrong with any of their pasta either. It has a generous amount of cheese, sausage, crispy crust and flavorful sauce. Service is welcoming and helpful. The new patio is delightful on a warm summer's day or evening. These folks have stuck it out through thick and thin, they've earned the communities support and business. Also, take the review below by Cindy C. with a grain of salt. Apparently she has nothing good to say about anyone.

All way nice to me , But I really miss Jack and his friendly manner. the food is real good, lots to choose from. And the all you can eat spaghetti on Tuesday is the best deal it the city, only 10 bucks

I am very unsatisfied with my order. I placed my order online and asked for sauce to be on my wings. I get home and all I have is fried wings with no sauce. I paid extra to have jalapeños on my pizza, there was none on it. Called Jakeenos to tell them about my order, no answer 20 minutes. The phone would just ring, very unprofessional. It's 2pm and online it states they're not busy.

Jakeeno's is a fantastic family owned/operated neighborhood pizza place and they've recently expanded and added a bar. I went there with a small group of friends and we enjoyed Sunday brunch with bottomless mimosas and a delicious breakfast pizza! They also have a cute patio in the back for those nice summer days! To top it all off.. the service was great!

Just NOT the Jakeeno's we have loved for years :( My husband's family have been regulars for over 30 years. Something changed after Covid. It used to be the friendliest place in town...not so any more! We have been back many times, but continue to leave disappointed. Last night we ordered a pizza for delivery and it never arrived, when we called, we were told two different delivery guys had shown up without the necessary "hot bags" for delivery and so our pizza was still sitting there. We were pretty hungry, so I volunteered my husband to go pick it up but asked that they make us a new hot pizza. When he got there it was the original pizza that was now over an hour out of the oven. My husband said he did not want that cold pizza and just asked for a refund. He was told "they didn't know how to do that". Long story short, it took two days but we did get our money back, but most importantly, no apology. We will miss our favorite old spot :(

we were there today waited 2 1/2 hours to get our food with two kids under the age of eight. They had lost. Our tickets didn't say they're sorry. The owner told the owner about it and she didn't care anything about it. She was happy about it the waitress was just mean, she didn't speak English couldn't understand her it took us 20 minutes to get an appetizer. They brought soup for us and didn't bring the bread until 15 minutes later like I said we waited 2 1/2 hours for food because the cooks decided they were gonna lose our ticket. We will never go back , this place is not worth it all they have is bottled pop. They have nothing else we had to ask for a straw. It took him 10 minutes to get us one. This place is not worth it. Do not go there do not go.

This is one of the best patios in Minneapolis. Plus it has amazing fresh food that is prepared with care. We appreciated the attentive service and attention to details.

I love their sauce! Not too sweet, not too salty. It's really the best. Also their delivery is speedy and delivery folks are friendly. I'm happy to support this neighborhood business.

The food was amazing and service was great with frequent visits to make sure you and your food is good. All the people that are here are very nice and respectful as long with the cashier and the business owners who we always end up having a chat with. The artichoke dip is to die for and I would think it's the best in MN lots of fresh ingredients and fresh baked bread made that day. The Chicago supreme pizza was amazing and super fresh it's a thin crust and usually comes with olives but I took those off and also had mine cut in triangles instead of squares which made it a bit flimsy but that's expected with thin crust pizza. Will definitely be returning soon plus there's homemade deserts and who wouldn't take up that offer. There is also Pizza and pasta sauce that you can buy and use at home up by the front plus homemade dough if you want to do a pizza night at home.

Jakeeno's Pizza & Pasta was a amazing once in a lifetime experience for me and I truly do wish I experienced this sooner. This place sits on the corner of the street which has parking on street but also has a reserved parking lot for customers. As of right now Jakeeno's is NOT OPEN FOR DINE IN 02/15/2023, but please do reach out to them to know if and when they will be. I ordered a lasagna, and custom pizza which included mushrooms, spinach, banana peppers, and pepperoni. The pick up time was quick and easy. On top of my order on Wednesday's Jakeeno's gives you a FREE CHEESE PIZZA! The lasagna was amazing with tons of layers of cheese and came with a side of bread as well, it tasted great and overall was super happy with it. My custom pizza was amazing along with the cheese pizza and overall it tasted so good, the pizza crust is thin and crunchy and the toppings are tasty, the cheese is super nice and stringy and it was one of the best pizza experiences I've had. I highly recommend this place for you and your loved ones to try out, you will not be dissatisfied and try your best to come Wednesday's for your free cheese pizza claim!

I'm a pretty regular customer and order via their website all the time. I placed an order that I thought was for delivery because I have covid. I was in there app still after my order and there was a thing you could press if you wanted to add to your order. I clicked on it and added a salad. I had no idea nor was there any warning that doing that would create whole new order. Ok it was my mistake but they had to have some idea it could be a mistake and they could have called. They had no problem calling me to see if I was going to pick it up. Over $100 and they charged me twice for the tip too. Since I'm a regular they have some idea of what i order and I have never ordered $100 worth of food. They will never get my business again.

First time in a long time. Won't be the last I ordered stuffed shells and a meatball with half and half sauce. I am confined to a rehab bed for the moment and wanted something hot and fresh which jakeenos came through in spades. Kinda messy but wow, so delicious. I ordered a meatball which balanced things out and it was really good. The Italian toast was flavor free.

me and my husband are regulars at jakeenos we have been for years I love the food and the friendly environment however something has changed I have been placing orders over the phone and the guy who goes by Josh that answers the phones and takes our orders is very rude.. seems as tho every time I have called to place an order for pickup or delivery he has an attitude with me or my husband same goes when we go into pick up the food he just has an attitude every time... shouldn't be in the hospitality business if you arnt going to be nice to all paying customers...

Okay, I confess, I didn't pay for the pizza I ate, or order the toppings, but after nothing but rice, egg and noodles for most of the week I was floored by your pizza! I think it's the cheese, but it might be how the layers underneath play on my tongue, I really can't say how it becomes so delectable. Perhaps its the sauce - a little something tangy under the cheese. And, while there's a little crunch to every bite, each also has a little resistance from a firm layer between that's smooth, soft and flavorful like a mushroom, olive or pepper. Thanks for making my day on a cold snowy night!

Ordered a small spaghetti with marinara sauce, medium cheese pizza, large vege pizza delivered to our motel room. The cheese pizza was possibly the best cheese pizza I have ever had. The spaghetti and marinara sauce and vege pizza were delicious too. Thanks for a delightful meal.

Yum! Yum! Yum! On what seems to be my never ending journey to find amazing thin crust pizza, we ordered a pizza from here. We got in the car and drove nearly a half hour to get the pizza (it was well worth it!) Once we got home with the pizza and wings we ordered, the festivities began. It's not very often in Minneapolis that I can find a pizza place with crust like back home but I finally did! This food is extremely tasty! The crust was perfect, sauce amazing, and just all around bursting with good flavors. I would highly recommend you trying this pizza!! We have now found the pizza that I have been searching for!

Jakeeno's pizza is not Italian classic pizza. When other cultures appropriate authentic pizza culture. This pizza is a gloopy, greasy mess. What pizza place doesn't serve ranch dressing to put on a salad. Overrated. The folks behind the counter are mean as wet hens. I ordered and was treated poorly by the cashier who seemed to take issue with the questions I had. Can't wait for competitor to move into the neighborhood and show and sell (sic) what great pizza should taste like.

I've lived within walking distance of Jakeeno's for 30 years. I ordered it quite a bit when I first moved to the neighborhood and it was always very good. Then prior to the pandemic it started getting.....not so good. I had three pretty bad orders in a row so I gave up. A few weeks ago I read several good reviews on another app, so I thought I'd give Jakeeno's a try again. I'm so glad I did! It's delicious, actually better than I remembered!! Reminds me of the pizza spot my parents took me to as a kid - just a good old fashioned pizza parlour. Because I was hesitant I only ordered a simple cheese pizza. It was perfect. It smelled incredible and tasted as good as it smelled. Nice thin, crispy crust. Delicious sauce. Ooey gooey cheese. Just the perfect amount of everything. Their dining room is open again for lunch, and they have a lunch sized pizza (7") so I'll definitely walk over there for lunch soon! They always have great specials. I'm back to being a regular customer again!!

I love this place!! Fave neighborhood joint. Their pizza is delicious, their wings are the best in town, and whenever we order delivery, it's so hot we have to be careful not to burn out tongues. You won't be sorry!!

The owners charge nearly $2 for processing cards debit or cash, regardless of order size. They also don't tell you this until after you've paid. It's penny-ante crap like this that leaves a sour taste in your mounth after what was a really nice pizza. The wait staff moved me from an empty nice table to a two top because of a rush that never materialized. Not the biggest deal, but that combined with about six other things that would all be petty individually mean, don't go here. If you want their pizza, get take-out and buy their bent paddle beer somewhere else at home. One of the waitresses was nice and understanding that I wasn't thrilled, but the other was a pain in the ass and argumentative. Hopefully she's just having a bad day and that's not the usual. The kitchen though. That's where the magic is. The pizza is great. Would be five stars if it wasn't for stupid policies and a bad customer experience.

The menu is really outstanding, a lot of good choices, I had to go with Meatball, and it was terrific. Bonus that their service is so really good, they are so swift and welcoming. A neighborhood hidden gem. Love the build your own pizza cause you get your choice of sauce plus a million toppings to choose from. And...the stuffed shells with the butter sauce is delicious. The ricotta filling was so fresh...you will not be disappointed. What was even better was how sweet the delivery young man was. No Door Dash or Bite Squad ...you order directly from them and they don't have to give a cut to the delivery company. The young man thanked me for supporting Jakeenos. Win:win!

my absolute favorite pizza hands down. been eating here for just about as long as I've been alive. I've never had a bad experience there. love love love it!!!!!

Oooooooey gooooooey cheeeeese! That's what I think of when I think of Jakeenos. My parents having been coming to this place since it opened in 1975 and it's been a favorite spot for my family ever since! Baked rigatoni.... stuffed shells.... lasagna.... oh my! I recommend the baked rigatoni. And ask for half white sauce & half red. The portion is so huge that you'll have dinner & leftovers for lunch the next day. (It's almost better the next day) it's so amazing. I've never had their pizza; because I'm so obsessed with their pastas. But I've heard their amazing as well. The patio is super cute... try to get a table out there. Kid friendly!!!! They have a table full of games that you can use. If you're going to visit, do it on a Thursday night date night! $39 will get you an appetizer, 2 entrees, a bottle of wine & a dessert! This is probably the best deal I've ever seen.

First time here tonight. Friendly greeting when we entered, were seated right away. Our waitress was Shalese and she was a delight! Very friendly, polite and attentive. We used a Groupon for two glasses of wine and two pasta dishes. We had Chicken Parm and Rigatoni with meat sauce. We also ordered the 1/2 caeser salad and it was plenty for the two of us. Both entrees were very good! We will be back!

Came here with my family for endless spaghetti Monday!! I had never been before so my sister (who is a devoted regular) invited my husband and I. It was pretty solid spaghetti but the FRESH BREAD definitely makes it worth the $7.99 or something it comes out to be. Fun for families and even a cute little cheap place to take a date if you're not up for cooking!

Jakeenos is not fine Italian cuisine, but they are a great place to come for a casual dining night. Great food, wine and beer at affordable prices. Also they have good specials for date nights, etc. South Minneapolis is so fortunate to have locally owned places like this in the neighborhood.

I ordered delivery, fair delivery price, super fast, nice delivery person. This pizza is the BEST! You want Reuben pizza, delicious! You want bacon cheeseburger pizza, outstanding! You want pepperoni or sausage, so freaking good! The artichoke dip is phenomenal, my husband favors the provolone bread. You'll write home about the light and flavorful mocha cake! It's reminiscent of tiramisu. I highly recommend, great price for great food.

Went here with my family and was disappointed in the service and selection. We sat down and ordered two dishes of tortellini and gluten free stuffed shells. Our server put in our order and then came back out to tell us that there was not enough tortellini for two full entrees so we had to change the order. We were then charged extra for the other entree that we selected. Also something to note: we asked our server which sauce is served with the tortellini and she told us the creamy butter sauce is served with it but then she charged us an additional dollar for the sauce (so it wasn't included?). Each pasta dish comes with bread and we asked for a gluten free roll with the stuffed shells. We asked for the bread/rolls to be delivered to the table before the entrees and they never came until the entrees were delivered. When the bread came, our server forgot that we needed a gluten free roll and instead brought a bread basket. We had to remind her about it and she then took back the bread that had been set on the table and came back with the roll. We then asked for butter with the rolls and they said they don't have any butter. Better attention to detail was definitely needed. As well as an understanding of how to appropriately charge a customer when the customers original selection is not available. It is unlikely that we will be visiting this establishment again.

The Rueben pizza was DELISH! First time ordering, and I must say, I will be ordering again. Husband loved the meatballs. Thank you Jakeeno's! The pizza is also great cold and for breakfast.

First pizza I ordered was way undercooked called to complain the next pizza i received was also undercooked.. instead of a bottle of pop you get a fountain drink with ice that tastes bad. I was disappointed and sent both pizzas back. How hard is it to cook a pizza?

One of our new favorite restaurants. Everything we've had here has been top notch. Though I'm not much on thin crust pizza, I loved the one we had here. The tomato basil soup was incredible (and I hate tomatoes). The side salad was very fresh and the stuffed shells rank up there with some of the best I've ever had. They serve local sodas to go with the meal (I loved the 1919 root beer and had a pitcher of it). I didn't think I had any room for dessert so we took some homemade cookies to go. They were fantastic too. We spent a bit more than we wanted, but everything I was tasting had my brain screaming, "shut up and take my money!" It was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. We will definitely make it a point to go out of our way to come here again.

We had a bacon cheeseburger pizza delivered. Even though it was delivered it was still hot and fresh. The pizza was delicious. We had a tossed salad with Italian dressing. The dressing was homemade and the favors were vibrant. This place outshines my expectations. I want to eat in now after having their food delivered.

Jakeeno's is a cool pizza classic pizza joint with a decent beer assortment and classic Italian pastas. The price is a little steep for the product and my pizza was burned. It also took longer than promised. This place has a lot of potential; I hope they will put in the work and turn it around.

The charge for a take out box was what did it. So the cost of you cleaning the pizza pan, the glasses of beverage, the plates and silverware is more than a fricking box? Really? This is not what Jack would have approved of. Especially when you add in the credit card fee. WTF? While the food is especially good, the treatment of customers is really shitty. This is not what we stood for 35 years ago.

How have I not written a review on this sacred place?! I'm so overwhelmed by its glory, I don't know where to begin. So, in true Sarah fashion, I'll start with happy hour. 2 times a day, 4-6 and 8-close. Easy. A few app options (always get the jalapenos in marinara and garlic bread to sop it up) and a handful of nice beers- including a beer from Harriet that's never served in a full pint glass anywhere else due to its high ABV but is here (wink wink). Sit on the patio. Its quaint. Like maybe a street in Brooklyn-quaint. Not totally secluded and quiet, but in the best way. And its twinkle-y at night. The staff are bangin' good people (in hindsight, that sounds weird. meh.). Super nice and they remember you and always act so psyched to see you! Best hangover cure- their meatball hoagie. OMG, it cures all. The pizzas are magical, especially the bacon cheeseburger, which I thought sounded really gross. What's the opposite of gross? This pizza is. This review is all over the place and I don't even care. This place is just a delight in my book.
