The pastries I have tried are delicious. My review focuses on the owner's interpersonal skills.
I have supported this business at least 5 times. Each time, I arrive before the business opens or just as they have opened. I drive 2-hours from Pennsylvania to support this business.
I find the owner lacks soft skills. On one visit, another woman and myself were outside waiting for the business to open. When the owner came out to raise the gate, she never greeted us, at all. I would expect a good morning, at least.
Today (1/25/25), again I am outside waiting for the business to open. When they opened their doors, I walked in and said, good morning. The owner, sitting at the desk on her phone, never responded. Okay, maybe she was just focused on what she was doing. After leaving the store, I called the owner and I was so shocked at her response. See conversation below.
Me: Hello, good morning. May I speak with the owner, please?
Individual: How may I help you?
Me: I would like to speak with the owner, please?
Individual: How may I help you?
Me: You can help me by telling me if you are the owner or allowing me to speak with the owner, please.
Individual: I am the owner.
Me (To myself): Why didn't she just say, this is the owner, how may I help you?
Me (To owner): I love your business and pastries. I proceeded tell her about my experiences (above) and that she should greet her customers.
The owner laughed on the phone. She made sure I heard her laughing so that I know that she does not value my advice.
Today is the last day I will visit the business.
