Jellyfish Brewing Georgetown - Review - Georgetown - Seattle - The Infatuation

"This low-key Georgetown brewery is a useful venue for any extended hang, whether that's a birthday party, a going-away celebration, or a session of Dungeons & Dragons. The lighting is good, the tables are wide, and the noise level allows for heated debates over ability rolls. It also helps that they serve tasty beer, particularly a light, fruity pilsner, and have snacks like parmesan pretzels and charcuterie boards." - Gabe Guarente

Google
Great place to stop by after work for a happy hour beer. Plenty of room for midsized groups. Friendly staff. Eclectic, light-hearted vibe.

Google
Cool brewery, although its alley location is less than ideal to actually get to. Beers were cold and tasty and I enjoyed the atmosphere inside.

David Striker

Google
Excellent brewery in the Georgetown neighborhood. We both had the Sir Hugs-A-Lot Hazy IPA 6.5%. Probably the best beer of the day.

Emma Fontaine

Google
Came here recently before sunset and saw a beautiful sunset disappear over the water. Beer was great and there were a ton of spots. So many windows! A dream beer and reading spot. Great vibes and kind staff.

Google
Tell You, the beer is NOT like the Jelly fish looks like, BUT delicious. Tryed the IPA's and for me the best is the "Sir Hug's-A-Lot". Don't ask me what the name means, ask one of the lovely bartenders. Also they offer some Sourbeer. Other's say, it's delicious. Can't verify, it's not MY thing, No way. But tried the Sarlacc Schwarzbier, a easy drinking one what surprised me! You can sit outside and enjoy one of the approximate 15 Draft Beer or wine or some non alcoholic drinks. Cribbage Bords available! So bring a Cribbage Partner with.

Anthony Von Plinsky

Google
Only thing preventing this place from getting 5 stars is the atmosphere is lacking charisma. Trust me though….the beer is not lacking flavor, variety, punch! Their Pilsner is off the chain and the stout is worth a drive there on its own!!!

Google
Nicely local brewery.... No food(well they have bar mix)....but amazing beer.... 1st anniversary is beginning of November so go enjoy their offerings and support the local beer producers who give us all a choice when we are going out to have a great night enjoying some fine local product

Google
Tucked away in it's own tiny corner, you can find yourself an assortment of beers at Jellyfish Brewing Company. It's great for those who aren't the bar scene type and perfect for those who just want to pop in for a quick pint. The service is always on point, the staff is friendly, and you can even order to go. Cheers 🍻

Yelp
Checked out this pretty small local brewery. It happens to be one of the few in Georgetown. Jellyfish still has a pretty big beer menu. For sure there's not a whole lot to choose from but there's still quite a few. The prices are pretty okay for a small craft brewery to be honest. Better luck finding it the first time than we had looking around and passing it by. It's on a pretty unassuming looking street. This is surrounded by old garages and warehouses. Even though it's not a big place, there's still enough room for a group. It's about $7 a pint. That's pretty good for a local brewery it seems. Best of these is the Smack IPA. This is the flagship beer, with notes of bright citrus and dark pine. Food is limited but they have charcuterie boards. They're also known for being child and dog friendly. For sure you may have to look hard to find it amongst the back alleys. It's located on Nebraska Street at Corson. The food options are limited but sometimes there's food trucks.

Yelp
One of the great things about living in the PNW is that if you throw a stone you'll hit a brewery. I've had Jellyfish on tap at a few local joints, but finally worked my way into the tap room recently. It's a large, clean, open space with several beers on tap and some snackage or you can bring whatever you want from another local joint. Overall a nice place to chill; bring your dog if it's trained! Service was prompt and the beer is pretty damn tasty!

Yelp
Love this spot in the neighborhood of Georgetown. It's by a bunch of different restaurants and bars. I tried their Pilsner which was a bit hoppy for my tastes but still good. I went for a makers-market which was unique and fun. Even got a painting by a local artist for my cousins who visit next month. There's also ample amount of parking but not a ton. Outside seating as well.

Yelp
Cool brewery in the middle of an industrial area with good amount of indoor and outdoor seating. Love the string lights. 15 types of drinks on tap, few options for sours (my favorite). Pints are $7, Half Pints are $4. The sour red (Sour Suzie 24) was an easy drink.

Yelp
Great beer and ambiance! This is a hidden gem you need to find in Georgetown. I'm hanging at the bar watching McCarthy lose 14th time and loving it. That said, beer is great and all beer addicts need to have injected JellyFish at least once.

Yelp
Here I go again, writing reviews for one brewery whilst sitting in another... oh well... life too short to NOT let people know about this jewel in the Georgetown district. Very reminiscent of some of my favorite breweries from the Bay Area, Fieldwork and Epidemic Ales, a beer choice for everyone.. well almost everyone. Lol for those, there's always water. Some great choices for flights before deciding on one, or another flight. Great variety, darks, stouts, sours, IPA, and more. Great atmosphere, very friendly service, a very busy Saturday, but stayed on top of no empty glasses.. always a plus. Truly.. I tried quite a few, there and to go at home... all great beers, definitely worth multiple visits. The whole Georgetown district is amazing. If you're in Seattle, head south to here! You won't be disappointed. Cheers!

Yelp
Friendly spot. 3 local ciders on tap #smackpack guest wifi login Music on the weekends! Marched in the Summer Parades supporting all things Seattle. And did I mention CRIBBAGE!?!? YESSS!! I'll be back next tims with more friends!!

Yelp
The SOUR Beer experts! If your into the sour beers JellyFish is for you! This was my first time trying a sour beer flight and I was impressed I almost liked all the beer and was shocked how good they were. Highly recommend and staff is very friendly as well.

Yelp
The beers were just ok. Great seating options indoor and out. Wish their sir hugs-a-lot hazy IPA was not out and that we could buy the can option to drink at the establishment. Pretzel snack (mustard flavor) was delicious. Great ambient and nice staff.

Yelp
This place is legit! Brewery always seem to be in a random industrial area, which this place is, but it was easy to find and their building itself is a gorgeous deep blue--and their logo is also very visually appealing with great colors making the design of the place awesome. The interior is modern and clean. I really admire the artwork on the can for each brew they have--much more creative than other cans, and crowlers I've seen elsewhere. Parking was fine, they have spots directly in front, and maybe around the area? Not sure what's the brewery's and what's not. I came here in the afternoon on a weekday when they first opened. There were a few people who were already picking up to-go orders, and as the afternoon went on, it got pretty full (COVID full anyways). It seems like a popular spot. Dogs allowed and a water dish, so my doggo was happy. They have outdoor seating and it looks like they also put up a white tent with more fold out standard size tables for patrons. We ordered inside and self-carried our drinks outside. They had about 12 or so beers on tap so plenty to choose from--and flight options! How they label your choices is super cool, they put a flat washer with the # of the beer you ordered on a nail on the flight board, so you can quickly check the menu to reference which is which--no need to remember. I thought that was pretty creative. I had the Saison Memoir and Sour Suzie 16, which are always there, and also on rotation I had Sour Suzie 17 (lime/tropical flavors - I felt like I was on a beach vacation) and Good Morning Sunshine. The two sours were my favorite, so I came home with a growler of each and some stickers! Great atmosphere, friendly staff and patrons, and tasty beer. I will come again!

Yelp
Jellyfish is now the place I wish was right next door to my house. The have a huge variety of beers on tap and cans ready to go. The ambience inside was almost like an aquarium. Although there isn't a ton of decoration, the music they had playing coupled with a couple of sports games and the Bob Ross channel just made it a chill spot to hang out. All of the beers are excellent, and whether you feel like a 14% barleywine, a hazy called "Sir Hugs-A-Lot", or a solid sour, there is something here for you.

Yelp
Industrial space, with some board games and good place for groups. I think I came post cleaning on a Wednesday night around 5PM, but it smelled like bleach throughout the whole place. We ordered a flight of four of their locally brewed beers. All were a little too tart for me, but this seems like a good place if you like sours or beers that go slightly more sour. The tasting menu was pretty reasonably priced for four samplers, definitely worth trying if you enjoy sours. I like the picnic table concept where you can have communal seating but the space is pretty small so having conversations can be a little hard especially when they have trivia night. I think I would try this place again when they rotate their taps. I think maybe it was just the season of sours, but definitely up to give it another go.

Yelp
What a lovely brewery in Georgetown! I used to be down in this area a lot when good friends lived here but it had been years since I explored when I found a Groupon for this newish brewery. I had been seeing their cool coasters around town for the last year and was curious what it was all about. We finally dropped in and loved it! Parking can be tricky as they only have about 6 spaces out front and the area is very old old industrial. Note that they do not sell food here - they do have Utz Pub snacks available if you need a little something to keep you satisfied with your tasters. We enjoyed a sunny afternoon of tasting here and took home a growler of the sour strawberry - perfect for a warm day! There were two servers the day we came in - one was super ebullient and helpful, the other was more hesitant and took our tasting orders one at a time so he wouldn't forget the numbers. When we accidentally got one of the same beers that we both really didn't like I asked if I could swap to taste something else even if it was just a tiny taster, not a full tasting glass. His response was "we don't do that" which was surprising, mostly because he eventually did it anyway after looking and sounding most disapproving. He was less friendly and seemed like maybe he was new. Either way, he could use an improved 'tude.

Yelp
Inside is pretty small, and while it seems like they have a handful of tables outside it was cold and wet the night we were there so we didn't get to experience it. Decent selection of beers and friendly staff. Nothing at all wrong with this place, but it just wasn't a standout for me. I'd go back if I was invited by a friend
google avatar

Yelp
4 stars. Unfortunately I wasn't a huge fan of the beers :(.... The groupon deal, the chill vibe, nba playoff game on the tv, and open space make it a 4 star place. We had a good time even though we didn't love any of the beers. Got a growler and fill to go since it was included in the groupon deal. It was hard to pick something that I wanted a growler of. Pro tip!!! $10 growler fill on mondays
google avatar

Yelp
This brewery online and it fully exceeded my expectations! Their beer selection was great but their service is what sealed the deal! All the staff were super friendly and happy to serve their customers. My partner and two young kids stopped by and enjoyed a family game night in their outdoor seating, we had a great time. This place is perfect for chill friend hangouts. We will definitely be back and bringing friends next time. Looking forward to being a regular at this place.

Yelp
We were just wandering the streets of Georgetown when we came across this brewery, and we were pleasantly pleased. The prices are honestly pretty good for what you get compared to other places. I was also surprised by how delicious the dill ranch pretzels were. They did not last on the table for very long.

Yelp
This place is sort of in an unlikely place. You have to go down, what looks like an alley to find out. But there is parking right there. Just don't blink. There is a covered area outside, to spread out, and long tables inside where you can socially distance. Not a huge amount of beer to try and it's nice and spacious inside. Seems very new, modern and clean. I didn't get any food but sammies to grab if you decide to land inside and eat.

Yelp
Excellent beers and great service. Can't ask for anything more. We went here for my cousin's birthday celebration and I had plenty of chances to go through the diverse beer selection. Some very creative formulations such as "beer salad" and they all taste great. The location is convenient if you live south of Seattle because it is located just south of the sports stadiums and all the traffic. I highly recommend Jellyfish Brewing!

Yelp
This brewery is a sleeper, in that it's tucked away down a random street in Georgetown. But when you do arrive, you'll find a nice location that 's a bit bigger than several other local breweries, especially when they have the outdoor patio open during nice weather. They offer the typical COVID precautions such as plenty of anti-bacterial hand sanitizer, arrows on the ground to inform movement, and social distancing by spacing out the tables. The beers are decent. I wouldn't say they are quite up to the quality as some of their peers in the area, but the competition is very fierce. They certainly are good beers, so you'll be able to find one you like without a doubt. They're also a true craft brewery, which is a huge plus! What I really appreciate at Jellyfish is that the service is always friendly and attentive and they offer snack plates in place of food trucks. They used to have to a $1 pub mix with was is why I really started coming here, which was fantastic and paired nicely with their beers. However, they stopped offering these recently so but offer more expensive options like meat and cheese plates, as well as pretzels and marcona almonds for a nominal cost. which go great with their beers. You can also bring in food from outside if you like - I recommend either Fonda La Catrina or Calozzi's Cheesesteaks! It's also kid-friendly and offer some games for your kids (or at least they did prior to COVID; I'm not sure if they still do), although I don't usually see too many kids at this place. Lastly, they also have some interesting/cool merchandise for sale (I like the human-like hop head on their mugs/growlers) and also have a $10 growler fill special on Mondays for their core beers.

Yelp
Cute, kinda busy brewery. I appreciate how they have half pints and non alcoholic drinks. A nice respite from the rain
google avatar

Yelp
Nice guys behind the bar, and some solid beers! I've come in on multiple occasions, once for a going away party, and another a random Sunday to watch some football. It has never been fully packed, but this is for sure a hidden gem. The space is large with plenty of tables, and a great outdoor space. Major props for having a fully enclosed patio and little area where pups can relieve themselves. They have a great selection of beers, with something for every palate. Definitely a hidden gem in Georgetown, and one of my favorites! Definitely visit if you are in the area.
google avatar

Yelp
Great, dog friendly brewery! I got a flight of four different beers, all delicious. Great mellow environment.

Yelp
This place feels like a boys club. Full of man drink beer with their bros Beer wasn't bad, but wasn't amazing too..
google avatar

Kayla C.

Yelp
We were looking for a place to hang out while we waited for a flight and jellyfish was perfect. We did a flight and enjoyed all the beers that we tried. My favorite was their hazy. We also got a yummy charcuterie board with cheese curds and pickled jalapeños.

Yelp
Oh Yeah! I am not sure how I missed Jellyfish all the times I went to Georgetown, but I am so happy I found it! The beer is excellent and the vibe fun. In the summer, they have a small outdoor area and the inside for cooler nights is great! If you are lucky to get a spot, there is some parking available in from on the street. Nice crowd, great beer and a fun time...check it out!
google avatar

Cathy H.

Yelp
Such a strong variety of really good beers! Friendly service, dogs and kids welcome- and you can order pizza from down the street if you are hungry :)

Yelp
I've been waiting for Jellyfish Brewery to get their taproom open for a very long time! It was like watching for a pot to boil! For a considerable amount of time Jellyfish distributed their beer to various establishments all over Seattle. I was about to undergo this task and hit several places around town that carried their beer. It looked like for a while each location that had a beer on tap had a different one from another location... hence the multiple stops. I've done this before and this is actually pretty fun to do but doing this in Seattle is easier said than done as traffic and parking can often times take the fun out of things. But this proved not to be necessary as the taproom opened! When Steve and I went here we had a very hard time deciding what beer we wanted. So many of their options looked great so we decided to get a taster set of several different kinds of their beers so we didn't have to decide on one a piece. That was a good move because virtually all of the beers we picked were great! Some of the beers from the taster tray were the Saison Memoir, Cannonball Oatmeal Porter, Hydra Pilsner and the Cerveza De Los Muertos. We really enjoyed all of those beers! It definitely warrants a return trip because the beer is very unique and a step above so many. The taproom is spacious, clean and sleek which is great... that space I feel is going to be in high demand because the beer is so great here.

Yelp
East to to find parking, and lots of beer and food options. Everything is gluten free for those celiac friends. I could tell my pretzel bites were gluten free as they were stale pretty quick, but still pretty good. Lots of space too.
google avatar

Yelp
Jellyfish Brewing has been on my hit list for about 2yrs. I pretty much love anything in Georgetown and the Jellyfish logo/ branding looked super cool, so I knew I was likely to enjoy the place once I'd tried it. -- Bingo! I'm actually shocked at how delicious their beers are. IPAs aren't normally my go-to choice, but Jellyfish uses interesting hop blends (including some obscure, experimental hops) to make amazing hop-centric beers. Another thing I really liked were their deals on branded growlers and *get this* to-go mason jars. I've never been to a brewery that sold souvenir glasses full of beer (like an individual beer) to take home. It is creative and unique. I'll be back for sure and I suggest you drop in for a drink when you get the chance.
google avatar

Stephanie S.

Yelp
Nice brewery! It's definitely off the road, can be a little tricky to find, especially if you're walking around Georgetown. It's pretty big inside, lots of seating. I had a saison, it was pretty good, had a nice flavor. I would stop by again sometime.
google avatar

Jay C.

Yelp
Good spot to grab some brewskis with friends! Highly recommend this brewery. The staff is friendly and they have good beer. Plenty of outdoor seating and inside seating as well. Beers are reasonably priced and the pretzels are a must try. No food is served here, but you can bring outside food. If you're looking for chill spot to hangout definitely check this place out.
google avatar

Daniel L.

Yelp
This place is great. Tasty beers, nice staff, good ambience. Indoor and outdoor seating available. They have some snacks but you can bring your own food. Great deal if you buy a pint there- can take 20% off six pack to go. Nice varieties of beers. Best brewery in the area
google avatar

Varshini S.

Yelp
Jellyfish is a great local brewery to visit. They have numerous types of beer on tap, and their flights are excellent. The staff is friendly and helpful. I also love how dog-friendly they are! Get a flight for sure if you're looking to try a bunch of different beers!
google avatar

Brant B.

Yelp
Very attentive team was able to recommend a great beer choice. Would definitely come back if I'm in the area. Certainly recommend the red ale.
google avatar

Briana A.

Yelp
The bartender was very kind and helped us out with our Groupon. I am realizing that the beers in Washington are just different from the beers in CA. Most beers we have tried in the State were not very drinkable for us. Jellyfish, however, had beers that we could actually enjoy. We particularly enjoyed their sour, cider and pilsner. I hope we can return someday, as I'm sure we can again find a beer we enjoy here.
google avatar

Mary R.

Yelp
Had such a fun time here last weekend. Great space with a ton of beer options. They also serve wine. They have a good variety to snacks. There was a combo plate available that had crackers, olives, cheese curds, salami and pickled peppers for only $10. Deal! They also have TVs if you are keen to catch a game.
google avatar

Leela S.

Yelp
I'm so glad this taproom is finally open! After trying Jellyfish's offerings at a few bars around town, I was excited to partake in a wider array of beers. The opening taplist absolutely didn't disappoint. We started out with the Saison Memoir and the Canonball Porter. The saison had some fun barnyard funk, and the porter was roasty (perfect for the rainy Seattle day it was). That was definitely a sign of high quality things to come. Over the course of the evening, we tried the imperial stout, the red ale, the mole beer, and the barrel fermented specials (blonde and red). Everything was complex, delicious, and right up there in terms of beer I've tasted in Seattle. The mole beer (CDLM Mole) was remarkable and like nothing I've had before--it really does taste like mole and I hope it sticks around. I'll be back, and I'll be back often. They're doing great things with beer here.

Yelp
Went here with our brew club to celebrate the grand opening. Tucked away in Georgetown, this is a nice brewery that produces quality brews. The seating area is spacious and dogs are welcomed. We took the tour and were impressed by the equipment and layout for growth. We did try the casked sour?, some loved it, some... not so much. Parking will probably be an issue once summer rolls around but you might get lucky and find a spot right out front! We will be back.
google avatar

Igor C.

Yelp
good beer, friendly service. Went here with a group of work colleagues. Snacks were cheap and good. A little hard to find.
google avatar

Sarah C.

Yelp
This place was good! Pros? Delicious beers Friendly staff Diverse tap list Games Cons? Not much on site parking
google avatar

D H.

Yelp
Very cool but you have to want to be here (and you should). Very industrial location not far from Georgetown Brewing (will be better after they finish tap room). Wide open front with a small outdoor patio. Enter those double doors and there are several large communal lower dining tables. Past the pipe divider is a long bar with maybe 10-15 wooden stools with back support. Light wood bar face. The bar top is stone/laminate with no rail. Back bar is simple with glass shelves, taps, merch, and some signage. Walls are decorated with local art. Not many lighter beers but Jellyfish has many great tasting beers. No real food available. Super nice bartenders that are quick with the beer.
google avatar

Tiffany L.

Yelp
Delicious beers! Lots of great IPAs, and the barrel aged ones are probably one of my most liked ones that I've had, not heavy on the barrel aged flavor, just a hint of it which is perfect! My favorites of the IPAs are the planktonic & smack IPAs. I've been waiting to try this place, and waitied a while before I heard they opened up the tasting room. Very different than other breweries, and good different! Large seating area, and a small outdoor area. There are some parking spots out front. A little on the outskirts of the Georgetown scene but within walking distance. They have flights for 6 bucks which gets you three 5 oz pours. Growlers are decent price, and you can take home a mason jar filled with beer - pretty cool. Refills are pretty inexpensive. Service is great, they know what they're doing! Highly recommend! I will definitely be back for more.
google avatar

Sam W.

Yelp
I know this is a review of the brewery but I loved the art SO MUCH!!! They building was full of art by a local artist. We did purchase a t shirt, and the atmosphere was really nice. I like that they didn't have hella beers but just a small selection, lots of souvenirs for purchase. Free drinks for kids, a really awesome location as well. Great experience
google avatar

Dain X.

Yelp
Nice brewery overall with a good selection of beer on tap. They have a rather high percentage of sours but I am not a fan of sours. The place has a good distribution of indoor, bar and outdoor seating. The parking is very limited. we went on a Tuesday afternoon so we were able to get spots. The beers are middle of the road as far as taste goes. Their Smack IPA is a good standard IPA. The other IPA I tried was ok; much lower IBU. Growler bottles are well priced at $5 and Monday fills are a good deal at $10. They have a variety of snacks available for purchase, some apparel and a water bowl for your canine pal.
google avatar

Will B.

Yelp
Spectacular place! Variety of beers. Got a jug and fill and two mason jars. Left here pretty happy. Will definitely be coming back on Mondays. Why u ask? 10$ fill for the growler.
google avatar

Bella S.

Yelp
Great place to go after work! Ample indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is covered!! Great selection on tap as well as a sizable selection that you can take to go. I am personally a fan of their hard seltzer's, but if you are someone from the East Coast looking for a good sour then come here!
google avatar

Marina C.

Yelp
Such a breath of fresh air, after escaping the Machine House Brewery. Great service. Good atmosphere. More cozy n chill. Great selection. Yummy snacks. AND! It's right next door to the Mercer Estates winery. That's a win WIN! Popcorn is free and delicious. Pretzels are yum. Good atmosphere here. Nice chill vibe.

Yelp
I love the Jellyfish Smack IPA at other locations around the city, so was super stoked to go to their brew house / taproom location. Went for the Stinger imperial IPA as i always get the Smack elsewhere. Super delicious and i can't wait to try more of their other beers. We went super close to their closing time on a Sunday only for one beer, but the bartender was super accommodating and friendly. Thank you for having us, we'll be back and hopefully with more time!
