The 16 Best Celebrity Restaurants In LA, Ranked

"Celebrity: Donald Glover Jellyman has been drawing “content creators” since the day it opened. That’s mostly because this boba shop is owned by Donald Glover, but the prime location near Silver Lake’s Sunset Junction and funky space-age design doesn't hurt either. The futuristic decor could be appealing if you’re a Disney adult who misses the Star Wars rides, but the bubble tea is less impressive. From pricey fruit drinks to watered-down lattes, the drink menu is pretty meh. If you’re set on visiting, skip the chunky peanut butter and jelly milk tea (a surprisingly gross combination in liquid form) and overly sweet strawberry milk latte, and stick to a simple jasmine tea. Jellyman - Review - Silver Lake - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Most people know this place as Donald Glover’s boba shop, but this Silver Lake spot has more going on than a celebrity owner. It looks like a spaceship lobby, with mirrored walls, neon spotlights, and groups of Gen Z-ers taking photos with a 10-foot statue. The futuristic decor could be appealing if you’re a Disney adult who misses Star Wars land, but the bubble tea doesn’t quite live up to the over-the-top interior. Design aside, Jellyman is another flashy cafe made for likes and clicks. From pricey fruit drinks to a lineup of watered-down lattes, the menu is pretty meh. We’d skip the TikTok-friendly peanut butter and jelly milk tea (a surprisingly gross combination in liquid form) and overly sweet strawberry milk latte, and stick to a simple jasmine tea." - Nikko Duren

Everything to Know About Donald Glover’s Silver Lake Boba Shop Jellyman - Eater LA

"A boba tea-fueled buzz has been brewing in Silver Lake since mid-October with the opening of Jellyman, a caffeinated enterprise from A-lister Donald Glover (also known as Childish Gambino) that gives boba, coffee, and milk teas a contemporary spin, all served in a futuristic space." - Mona Holmes

Very cool place with limited seating. I got the grape jasmine drink with blue dots & it was delicious. They let us sample some of the teas before deciding which was very sweet. i will say that the blue dots are a little hard to get through the straw, but overall a great experience here. They have lots of interesting drinks and flavors, would recommend

Cute spot. Fast and kind service. Delicious and creative options. No bathroom but cozy seating. Super cute packaging. And the boba and the drinks are really enjoyable. Alternative milk and lovely simple options for teas. Love it and will be back!

First off, the service was great. The cashier was extremely helpful in helping us decide what to order. The interior also looks really cool and it’s got those silver lake vibes. We tried four different drinks. Yuan Yang tasted the most like what it’s named after, a Hong Kong style coffee milk tea (鴛鴦奶茶). The hangover cure, which was a bit sour and salty, wasn’t that bad, but after a while, reminded me of smoked ham. Something might be wrong with my taste buds, haha. The brown sugar milk drink was way too sweet, and it tasted too much like condensed milk. The grass jelly and egg pudding was a bit off too. Finally, the pbj drink, it’s not bad, but it’s not good either. The peanut flavor wasn’t as strong as I expected. My conclusion after trying all these drinks is that this isn’t your typical boba joint. The menu seems experimental, striving to set itself apart from the typical boba shop offerings. Hopefully, they’ll cook up something creative and delicious. Good luck!

Jelly man is a beautiful space, different from most modern tea houses. It felt like an ephemeral experience to be in at the counter. If you look up, there’s a mix of natural, warm, and colored lights that create an unnatural ambiance. On the outside, you get a great Japandi vibe with lots of sunlight. Their branding is only apparent on the products (cups, napkins, and receipts) which makes it feel private and minimal. They have a few interesting choices, so go ahead and chat with the cashier about them 👍 We ordered the Thai limeade and yuan yang, both $6.75 (with one topping). The Thai limeade felt very sour at first, but it eases over time. The yuan yang is very, very good, blending the sweet, bitter, and creamy flavors of each element. Their straws are kinda crummy and the tip crumpled easily, making it hard to stab the lid. We were curious so we went back to order the Peanut butter jelly man, $8.00. With Peanut milk and grape jellies, it tasted pretty gross. Liquid peanut butter. Their toppings aren’t very sweet so the grape jelly doesn’t come with a strong tang to cut the fullness of the peanut milk. I’d skip it. Come try Jelly man before it trends on tiktok!!

Came here during the week and there was no line. Staff is super sweet and gave my dog some water. I ordered the brown sugar milk with oatmilk, I couldn’t adjust the sugar level but it was still delicious. Very creamy, sweet and boba was perfectly chewy.

Google
The drinks were tasty and unique, but not the best I’ve ever had. The line was long but not terrible, and the staff was polite and friendly. We got the Thai Limeade and Strawberry Barley Milk.

Google
Was excited to see what all the hype is about this spot. I ordered the matcha yuzu tonic drink and my friend ordered the house black milk tea. Both were very underwhelming in flavor and the boba was not fresh :/ The staff was super duper friendly and the atmosphere of the space is 10/10. Other than that don’t think its worth the hype and price.

Google
The staff was very nice and willing to answer any questions we had about the menu. I enjoyed the atmosphere. Unfortunately I did not enjoy the drinks. I got the Grape Jasmine and my boyfriend got the Orange Grenadine. They were drinkable but just felt they lacked to have a distinct flavor. Very disappointing especially for the price.

Yelp
The reviews are fair on this boba spot. I had to check it out because I'm a huge Donald glover fan. He's the besttt. Anyways, I was lowkey worried about buying boba here because of all the mixed reviews. However, I had a great experience! The boba isn't the best I've ever had but it was tasty! My boo thang ordered the pb&j boba - it was super flavorful, there was a lot going on in this drink but we loved it. Lots of flavor and you can really taste the pb&j. I got regular milk tea. It was sweet but not too sweet! The employee was super friendly and answered our questions. Ambiance is 10 out of 5 stars. From the art work to the menu... I could live here lol. It's so unique. I wish there was one in SD.

Yelp
Childish Gambino's Jellyman boba shop!!! When i heard about this from a friend I was stoked to try it out! I got the matcha latte with maple sea foam & boba to add to my matcha tier list. So far, the smooth creaminess of the milk tea put this drink in my A-list! I enjoyed the dark wood & mirrors in the store's architecture, the purple led lights gave the room a cool complimentary hue. On top of that the jellyman was very inviting as he has his hands laid out for anyone to dap him up

Yelp
I usually get black tea with boba, and it is pretty delicious! I'm not too much of a tea connoisseur but the tea feels high quality. The ambiance and furniture design of the store is pretty tasteful. Sitting the semi-outdoor area usually has a nice breeze and is pleasant. Street parking only. Seating is very limited.

Yelp
I ordered the brown sugar milk tea boba. It is on the sweeter side, if you like your milk teas sweet. You order at the counter and they bring it out to you. It is expensive for the size of the drink. There is a cute covered patio that has some seating. Parking- street parking

Yelp
Trendy Boba spot with a unique and expansive menu. The service is top notch and all the baristas are incredibly friendly. I couldn't decide which drink I wanted so I asked the cashier which was the best between the 3 that sounded best, and he recommended the Rose Hibiscus Milk Tea. It came out to about $9 after tip and tax. You can definitely taste the quality and it came out pretty quickly, but it was a very small serving so I'm torn whether it was worth it or not. Sitting space is a bit limited but what is available is definitely a cozy small working spot out on a patio with an incredible playlist.

Yelp
Pretty cool boba shop owned by Donald Glover. This is located on the famous street of Sunset Blvd, so this is a great spot for some foot traffic. Parking is not easy in this area, but there are a lot of metered parking spots. Service was really good! I came with my supervisor since it was the nearest boba shop to my workplace. You have options to have a milk tea based drink. Menu is on the side of the wall when you walk in. There is not very much seating, so it seems more like a grab and go place. Decor is pretty cool with the ambient lighting and the big statue thingy. I ordered the rose hibiscus latte for myself at 25 sweet with oat milk. It was pretty watered down. Good thing here is that you can still adjust for sweetness after drinking it. I was in a rush so I hadn't had the chance to :( I probably wouldn't return unless I was in the area. Cup sizes are pretty small and pricy.

Yelp
Y'know what this place is pretty good. The Thai limeade reminds me of the Vietnamese drink, nuoc chanh muoi (salted pickle lime with carbonated water). Delicious, refreshing, and def can taste the flavors of the plum. Matcha yuzu was also a hit. Not too sweet at all. This place is worth the try. I love that the teas I got weren't sweet at all, def light on the syrup. A bit hesitant to try the peanut butter jelly and other various new flavors but maybe one day. Ambience was very chill at around 6pm on a Sunday night. Seating is very tight. Service was excellent. The matcha yuzu didn't have a secured lid and it spilled but once we brought it to the server's attention she was so kind to replace the lid with a sipper style.

Yelp
Walking into the place, it was a very minimalistic and inviting atmosphere. Heard it was created by Childish Gambino! Price labels were indicated on the left side of the building. I felt that after purchasing my drink, the portion size seemed ample compared to the 7-8 dollar pricing pre tax. I feel that there are better boba establishments to go to, rather than this one. This is seems more a one-time experience, but given the value for its price, I was not as pleased.

Yelp
Donald Glover's new spot is stylish and sleek, low key fun vibes. Because the ambiance is dark and almost like a lounge, this is a great alternative date spot if you don't want liqs. Not to mention cute photos can be had with the big @$$ statue inside. I popped in to try things out because I'm a huge Childish Gambino fan...I mean, who isn't!? We were met with a cool crowd and really nice staff. I had the Spiced Coffee Tonic which was interesting. I liked it but I think just a tad too much ice for such a small cup. I also had the special Pear Tonic of the day which was not as amazing as I had hoped. Their cute butterfly pea jellies were a fun touch though. Admittedly, I still need to try the big draw - the milk teas. Right now, I find the ambiance to be cool but something about the drinks is leaving me wanting me more. That being said though, I'll def be back to try more of the menu. This is America!

Yelp
Jelly man is exactly the type of aesthetic you would imagine for Donald Glover and Sunset Blvd. I loved the details that were put into the atmosphere, you can literally sit and relax for hours, people watch or just get some work done. Even though that space is small it's inviting and comfortable. I landed on the four seasons as per employees recommendation. It's an oolong tea with your choice of milk, I choose almond milk and added chia seeds. I enjoyed it but it wasn't a typical milk tea boba type of drink. But I wouldn't let that discourage you, they have interesting flavors and offer unique bevs.

Yelp
1. The drink actually tasted like peanut butter! 2. The spot has fun casual vibes with a large statue inside! 3. There are few indoor tables! 4. The staff were friendly and timely with my drink! 5. I only saw street parking available! Note: There is no customer restroom! Photo: Peanut Butter Jelly Man

Yelp
I wanted to like Jellyman more but it really is average at best. The location itself is beautiful, I love the decor and the fact that the seating isn't directly inside but still is covered. There is not much seating at all maybe 5 tables. The worker was really nice and helped give recommendations. We opted for a matcha and a plain black tea. The matcha was just okay, nothing to write home about, one that you would drink but not get again. The black tea however was not good at all. We got unsweetened tea and you could taste the tea was over steeped and just overall not pleasant. I don't plan to come back but I am glad I experienced it.

Yelp
My boyfriend recently moved to Silver Lake, and I happened to find a boba shop literally walking distance from his house. Though I got lucky to find a street parking right in front, it rarely happens in this neighborhood.   The ambiance was semi-dark, groovy, and hip, and I suppose it fits the 'Silver Lake' vibe. There are five or six small tables that are sort of separated from the ordering area. It is not an ideal place to get work done since it does get loud with people talking.   I awaited in line for about 10 minutes or so and got myself a Grape Jasmine. I asked for a sweetness adjustment but was told it was already made, so I couldn't adjust it. Another Yelper has mentioned they got the same drink with a specific sweetness level, so I was a bit confused, but the ice is adjustable.   How was my drink? It was nothing special. For a drink that costs more than $7, I expected it to be better than what I got. It was flavorless and definitely felt like it was watered down. It was not too sweet so that was great but like I mentioned, it was lacking so much flavor. I heard real grapes are used but it was not worth it. I can probably get something very similar at one of the boba shops I frequent near home in San Gabriel Valley for much cheaper even if they don't use real grapes.   I don't know. This place is probably a one-and-done type of place for me. I was excited to see a boba shop in Silver Lake, but it did not live up to its name. I will probably wait for Tastea to open, or just go to Erewhon for a smoothie.   The menu also needs more work. Instead of having us ask what is in each drink, I wish they had more detailed information on the menu, like a simple breakdown of each drink and its price, which could potentially save a lot of time when ordering and perhaps less people waiting in line. The line does move faster than it seems, so if you really want to give it a try, please do. But for me, I am not too sure if I will be a returning customer.

Yelp
Great service, trendy interior, and a pretty solid menu! When I heard that Donald Glover (aka Childish Gambino) came up with this boba shop AND opened it in Silverlake... I knew I needed to stop by ASAP! But so did the rest of Los Angeles... it was about a 40 minute wait to order and get our drinks. I ordered the Grape Jasmine, which seemed to be really popular among many people walking out of the store. The drink was on the sour side, but you can tell they use fresh grapes! The jasmine tea was really fragrant and 75% sweetness was perfect for me. Overall, a good drink, but I'd probably try a different one next time I visit. My boyfriend got the Jasmine Milk Tea and he said it was standard. Nothing special, but good quality! The texture of the boba was pretty great too. Nice chew to it.

Yelp
I see the hate. I understand the hate. I disagree with the hate. The boba consistency is great. The design is immaculate. The minimalism is to its detriment (wtf is the hangover cure? Why not let me scan a QR code and read for myself rather than the very sweet person at the counter having to explain to everyone and holding up the whole line). Also the hangover cure is strange and odd and exciting and I love it. Almost like a mezcal. The matcha with oat was underwhelming. Was like 90 percent oatly. No body or complexity or sense of brew to the tea. Don't do it. The music was lovely. And yea, it's priced for the area - AKA next door to where they sell jacquemus outfits and 60 dollar socks to silly little broke idiots like me who buy said 60 dollar socks even though they're on payment installment agreements with the IRS. Also, has silverlake become the new abbot Kinney btw? wtf is goin on? What yall coming for next? West Adams?

Yelp
Torn between a 2 and a 3. As a boba purist and someone who lived in China for 5 years.... It is a difficult pill to swallow that boba could be $8.50 (more including tip) and boba isn't even factored into the price. You also aren't able to choose a size. The tapioca pearl itself was good, chewy and tasty. My go-to order at a boba spot is black milk tea, boba, 0% sweetness, and light ice. I do this because I want to know what their baseline tea & boba quality is. The tea was fine, nothing to write home about. Judging by the crowd and amount of people taking photos of the boba (myself included, for this review), you're going to Jellyman for the hype. It has a fun interior and the statue of the man inside is fun, very trendy.

Yelp
Saw this place on TikTok and a friend who was visiting wanted to check it out. Parking is definitely not the easiest but we found street parking in the neighborhood behind the building and walked over. We came on a Saturday around 3 pm and there were only a few people ahead of us in line. Ordering was quick but waiting for the drinks took kind of a long time. I know they were in their soft opening stage so it made sense. They have a decent sized menu and I ordered the strawberry barley milk with boba and subbed the milk for oat milk. After tax and tip, I paid $8.33 for my drink. They only have one size and if I had to guess, it was probably a 16 oz. cup. The drink was better than expected but I probably wouldn't come back since parking can be a hassle and there are more authentic boba shops closer to me. It's nice to have tried out though!

Yelp
My brother wanted to check out Jellyman since he's a big Donald Glover fan and so I went with him not expecting very much from the drinks. Somehow, the boba met below both of our expectations sadly. First off, I didn't realize how expensive and overpriced everything was. We got a total of 3 drinks and it came out to around $25. That's $8.33 per drink which is crazy and the only other boba places that are justifiable to charge that much is Odd One Out in Sawtelle or Chicha SanChen because their drinks are of actual quality teas and have won awards in Brussels. There is a decent selection of drinks at Jellyman but when I asked the cashier, he said the peanut butter jelly was the most popular and so that is what my brother got. I honestly couldn't take another sip after trying it because it was very weird how similar it was to an actual PB&J sandwich. I guess it's personal preference but I personally thought it was very weird to be drinking a PB&J, especially with boba and the taste threw me off. Again, no shame against the creativity of the drink but at the same time, it's crazy how the small cup costed almost $9. I went simple and got a jasmine milk tea which came out to around $7 and the cup wasn't even filled all the way to the top :( the quality and taste was terrible as if it was diluted milk with a hint of jasmine. It was so bad that I honestly prefer boba time, quickly, or tapioca express' teas over jellyman's. At least theirs is under or around $5. Overall, if you are a die hard Donald glover or Childish Gambino fan and want to support, by all means go ahead and give Jellyman a shot. Who knows, maybe you'll enjoy the PB&J drink. I have been to countless boba places all over California both in the Bay and LA/OC so I guess my review is a bit biased but I do understand that paying $8-9 for a drink that isn't justifiable is crazy and you're better off spending your money at any other boba spot and will prob get even better quality/tasting drinks for cheaper.

Yelp
Mm kind of sad this place only has 4ish stars. It has great vibes, a really nice and informative staff, and yeah I think the drinks are a bit pricey but 1. it's in silverlake and 2. I personally think the menu can hold its own against the SGV boba places. It's not THE BEST, and it doesn't compare to like chicha san chen, but I think 3 stars is a bit unfair. I've tried the peanut butter jelly drink, the yuan yang (which is kind of like a hong kong milk tea), and the yuzu matcha tonic (which personally I thought was a bit too much soda and not as much matcha/yuzu as I hoped it would). That said, the boba is pretty well done; not too tough or too soft, which is what places most boba cafes in the S, B, or A tier #IYKYK Will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Cute place but woah the drink flavors were...interesting. And I love weird shit and flavor combos but this wasn't for me. We got The Hangover and The Peanut Butter Jellyman. The Hangover straight up tasted like sour bbq. The PB Jellyman tasted like Kare Kare (a Filipino dish that has peanut butter in it). It was ok, but I feel like it could've been better to suit a dessert style drink. Both of those almost tasted savory. My cousin was able to swap out the Hangover for a different drink which was nice. She got the Matcha Yuzu Tonic which was better. I will say the boba was a great texture, nice and chewy and sweet. Drinks are pricey for the size. The Jellyman was $8. Street parking is hard to come by. Drinks came out fast despite how busy it was and the staff was friendly. Small outdoor patio where you can sit and enjoy your drink.

Yelp
A new boba spot by Donald Glover (Childish Gambino) that opened in Silver Lake, still in soft opening. Before even coming here, I read the reviews and knew it might be a miss, but nonetheless, I gave it a try. When I arrived around 1pm on a Sunday, it wasn't crowded, and there was only a group of customers before me. Since the menu has no descriptions, I asked the cashier about a few drink names before deciding to try the Hangover Cure, which was described as a smokey plum drink. With no toppings, the drink came out to $7.67 after tax, and I got my drink in about 5 minutes. Someone else described it as having a smoked ham/bacon taste, and I wholeheartedly agree. It was drinkable and I finished since the cup was small, but would not recommend. Overall, the menu needs descriptions and prices, and it is definitely a pricey place that people come for the aesthetics and name. Maybe I just picked the wrong drink to try, but it was a signature item, and not what I was expecting from a drink.

Yelp
Jellyman is more of an artsy meeting space than a boba store. It's a really small store, so easy to miss. There are a handful of seats in the front for customers to sit, so a nice catch-up place. The menu had a nice range of milk tea, fruity, matcha, and tea-based drinks. It would have been more helpful if the menu included some more descriptions of what the drinks were. The cashier was really nice and patient in explaining the options and which ones were popular, but the line got really long as he was explaining. We got 3 drinks: roasted oolong milk tea, matcha tonic, and persimmon-orange-grenadine. We were very disappointed by how watered down all the drinks were. The oolong didn't have tea any tea flavor, it really was flavored water. If you're looking for a quality boba tea drink, save your money and drive to the SGV for better options.

Yelp
My boyfriend is a huge fan of Donald Glover so of course, visiting this location is a must for us. We had put visiting this shop off because we know that Silverlake parking is horrible. We were lucky to find a parking meter in front of the store because it was a random weekday at noon time. I remember seeing mixed reviews on TikTok so I had low expectations. To my surprise, I enjoyed my drink and drank it within 10 minutes. I got the Peanut Butter and Jelly. I will get it again. The cashier was very friendly and welcoming. The inside of the boba shop was very futuristic. You can tell there was a lot of thought put into this.
google avatar

Yelp
I came here because this shop is owned by Donald Glover. The boba shop itself is a vibe and very aesthetically pleasing The rose hibiscus latte was refreshing. I wish it was a little sweeter, but the boba helped. Drinks range from $6-$8 and the cups are smaller than I expected. Service was good, the cashier called us up when our drinks were ready and she seemed genuinely nice. Nonetheless, it's worth checking out when you're in the area.

Yelp
The aesthetics and interior is beautiful in here. As a huge Donald Glover fan, I was so excited to visit. It's a visually pleasing space and I would come back to hang out. When it comes to the boba, it's nothing like the quality in the SGV but it's decent for the first boba shop in Silverlake (fact check me if there's been a boba shop in Silverlake). I got a Jasmine Green Milk Tea with boba as it's my go-to and a reliable drink to try to compare different tea spots. The tea itself was okay, a bit watered down than I liked but I wasn't mad at it. I'm pretty particular with the actual boba so I was a bit disappointed at the quality of the boba. It was a bit chewy. My friend got the Rose Hibiscus Latte and she enjoyed it. Will I be back? Yes, because the boba spots outside of SGV, Ktown, and Sawtelle are slim. Does it meet the top 10 boba list? No but the vibes are definitely there.

Yelp
I have so much to say, but to keep it concise and to put the bottom line up front, Jellyman has really good beverages. Upon arrival, you are greeted by mid-century-modern-nautical decor, with an overhanging canoe, and a fisherman peeking over the side to say hi. Passing the seating area and through the doors, a Jellyman Monster (?) materializes as you check out the menu and place your order. I have no idea what any of this means, but the subtext suggests there is a story that is a mix between The Old Man and the Sea and BioShock in the Funko Pop universe. There is so much intrigue and mystery before even deciding what drink to order. My friend and I ordered the Peanut Butter and Jelly. Man (PBJ) and the Yuan Yang. The PBJ was a shock to my taste buds, with the overwhelming tartness and sweetness of (I think) grape jelly upfront, then the creaminess of the peanut butter to mellow you out, and finally an after taste of toasted bread to round out the pallet. The Yuan Yang was a more gentle ride, greeting you with a balanced blend of earthy black tea and brighter coffee for a refreshing pick-me-up after a big lunch. When I go to boba shops, I usually request 50% sweetness. For both drinks, I ordered 100% sweet and although they were very sweet, I didn't think it was too much. The boba was just the right texture-chewy but not mushy and firm but not brittle. It's important to note that this isn't a boba shop where you'd find your favorite flavors of milk tea. If I was craving boba, Jellyman probably won't make the top of the list to satisfy that craving. However, if you're in the mood to try something new Jellyman will be a delightful treat. Its enthralling decor and inspired drinks meet at the intersection of art and cuisine. It's places like this that make me love and appreciate LA. I very much enjoyed the experience and will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.

Yelp
I love the interior and design of this shop. I don't really love the boba selections. I'm a big fruit tea girl and really love real tea flavors. Maybe if it was a really hot day and was super thirsty this would quench my thirst. Unfortunately, I got the grape jasmine and it was quite disappointing there wasn't much tea flavor. The grape was sweet but the coconut jelly wasn't the same kind of jellies you think of at other boba shops. It really tasted like sugar juice more than boba. It's like Starbucks trying to be boba. It just isn't right. I wouldn't recommend going here for the quality or taste. I also didn't try any of the coffee or milk tea flavors so maybe those would be better but not the fruit teas!

Yelp
Apparently this place is Donald Glover's boba shop, according to a TikTok I saw so I wanted to check it out. It's in Silverlake, and it definitely had such a cool vibe. Very aesthetic, three tables to sit at with friends, and the cutest packaging ever. A+ for the design. We went during their soft opening on a Friday afternoon, and it wasn't too busy yet. The person taking our order was extremely kind and knowledgeable! Really appreciated her and her recommendations. As for the drinks -- I will be truthful and say they were pricey for boba that didn't really stand out too much for me. I got the brown sugar tea, which I was able to get with oat milk--which is great! I appreciate that. It was overall a good drink, and I think the boba was sweet and perfectly chewy. My partner for the peanut butter and jelly drink, which did indeed taste like peanut butter and jelly. It was delicious. Cool place, and I'd probably be back.

Yelp
The ambiance is something that makes this place good to go to. It's very calm there. Ordering drinks there you feel you're on a spaceship. The peanut butter jelly man tastes just like a pb&j sandwich and I was jealous of my partner's drink haha. The rose hibiscus tea was good but a little too watered down for my taste. Definitely get the pb&j drink if you want to experience drinking a classic childhood meal!

Yelp
Solid boba spot! I loved the ambiance and overall vibe. Everything seems very thought out and intentional as far as design and I'm here for it. and when I went there was no line. The staff was super nice and helpful with explaining the different flavors. Had to try the peanut butter jellyman and it did NOT disappoint. Straight up PB&J in boba form. Super creamy and delicious. also tried the Thai lime aid which was very refreshing and tart! Panic ordered boba with it and it was good but probably would be better with some kind of jelly! Either way definitely will be back to try the other flavors, yeah it's a bit expensive but to me what isn't in that area. Big respect to Donald Glover and the team over there!

Yelp
Jellyman is the foray into the drink/boba space from famed actor Donald Glover. While, the ambience and vibes of the shop are immaculate, the drinks themselves were average. The menu is creative and offers flavors from fruity drinks to creamy milk teas but otherwise the boba itself was a bit hard and on the pricier side. If you're looking for a trendy spot in the Silverlake area to get your boba fix, consider Jellyman.

Yelp
came here as a huge fan of donald glover, i wasn't expecting anything amazing but i also wasn't expecting anything less than bad. this boba shop is in silver lake, there's tons of street parking and it's pretty small in the outside so it's easily missable. the inside is super small as well, there's a bench to sit with a few friends. i tried their matcha and their peanut butter jelly man with blue spots (crystal boba). i was really impressed with the combo of peanut butter and jelly and i thought it was super good, just with less jelly parts but it was delicious! the matcha was pretty good too. the inside has a huge statue of jellyman and the inside is with purple lighting. the service is super quick and our cashier was sweet. overall i think it was a good one time experience, i don't think i would try this again i think childish gambito could've done better but i give it a 6.5/10

Yelp
The ambiance is nice. Small and quaint but cute decor especially with their jellyman mascot. Parking on the street. Now on to the drinks. I give them props for creativity in drinks. There is a good variety of options but not too much. Tried the peanut butter and jelly man. It does taste like a sandwich with its peanut milk and jelly cubes. Now $8 for the drink.... Don't know about that. Ehh not blown away. Also tried the Thai lime aid. At first sip I was ehhh but it's a lime Thai tea and it grew on me as I was drinking. This one is good. The boba needs to be sweeter in my opinion. It had almost to no flavor but the texture was chewy. Some drinks have customizable sweetness level but the above 2 drinks do not. Overall cute ambiance. Drink creativity, yes. Drink flavors, okay. Price, ehhh. It's just okay for me.

Yelp
Hmmmmm I saw an advertisement for this place and wanted to give it a try. It's definitely a cute shop, but it was horribly overpriced. A tiny brown sugar boba was just shy of $10, and it was tiny. The flavor options weren't anything special, and the one I got didn't amaze me. Unfortunately it didn't live up to my expectations :-(

Yelp
I came here late one afternoon for a business meeting. The cashier was incredibly helpful and informative, walking me thru the menu and considering my preferences when making her suggestions. The drink I got was a Yuan Yang, a Vietnamese adjacent coffee beverage. It was a great blend of flavor. I know this is an annoying comment to make but the straw was so hard to pierce, I was really struggling... That's not why this isn't 5 star. I knocked one star because the seating is so limited and it's such a scene that it's not a productive place to have a conversation. I was so distracted by the wave of people coming in to photograph and pose. There are maybe ten seats total in the outside area, and it got pretty loud when there were only six people seated. It's not comfortable, so fair warning if you want to chat with a friend. I won't make the mistake of coming here for work!

Yelp
Pretty decent. Obviously I came here for the same reason most people did. The place itself is a vibe and aesthetically pleasing. Drink: PB&J w. boba - Tried this based on the employee's rec. I have to say initially the jelly taste was similar to beets which threw me off but then I tasted the hint of jelly - I think it was grape but I would prefer strawberry. The boba itself was firm then chewy and arrived warm - respectable. I normally get a milk tea but felt adventurous. Not sure if I'd go all out and order this one again but maybe every once in a while. Staff were super friendly and welcoming. Place is located on a harder to park block of Echo Park but it's to be expected. Although not my top 5 boba places it's still a great gem to add to my list, especially for the vibe.

Yelp
What we ordered: - Yuan yang with boba - black tea with oat milk Once we heard that Donald Glover opened a boba shop, we just had to try it out. The menu is not anything unique except the peanut butter jellyman drink, but the varying lights inside set a warm atmospheric mood that's way different than typical boba shops. The yuan yang is a Hong Kong style cold brew and milk tea. Coffee and tea flavor was present, but not strong enough for our likely. Boba was better than average, had a good balance of chewiness and firmness. Not the best black tea we have tried, it lacked a strong earthy taste.

Yelp
Parking is a nightmare since it's on sunset blvd. inside the vibe is cool! The staff was not too friendly, and not able to tell me what drinks were popular. I ordered the milk tea with boba which was about $8 and only one size is available. Boba tasted good but overall imo just average.

Yelp
Jellyman is a place where I believe you pay for the experience vs the flavor of the drinks. It felt like stepping into a serene space, from the light wood to the music. The line was long, but it's because the menu had no descriptors and each customer had to ask the cashier to describe certain items. That being said, the cashiers were incredibly patient and were able to help us determine the drinks we wanted. Strawberry Barley Milk Tea - This drink was okay. Not too sweet, which is fantastic for a drink where the sugar isn't controlled. However, there wasn't anything that stood out about the flavors itself. Nor was it the best barley milk tea I had. To be honest, the flavor really doesn't justify the price paid for this drink. Year of the Dragon - This was their lunar new year seasonal drink with tangerine, pomegranite, oolong, and saffron cream foam. This is what made the place a little more worth visiting. The flavors were not only unique, but they worked well together and created a very enjoyable drink. But since this is only seasonal, I'm not sure if I would go again.

Yelp
Like a lot of others, I wanted to try this spot only because I'm a big Donald Glover fan but I didn't really have high hopes for a celebrity boba shop honestly. Even with pretty low expectations, I was somehow still disappointed. Really cool vibes (music, decor, etc) and the cashier was friendly. But that's where the pros end. Now onto the cons... - There was a line to the door and it honestly moved pretty slowly - there's only one cashier. - The menu on the wall inside gives 0 description of the drinks/toppings (some of which are unique to this boba shop like "blue spots" or the "hangover cure"). The line probably moves slowly because the poor cashier has to explain what every menu item is to everyone who asks. - The cups are so small compared to most boba shops and the prices are about $8 per drink. - They advertise being able to adjust sweetness but on all the drinks we wanted to order we couldn't actually adjust sweetness at all and of course the menu doesn't indicate which drinks you can adjust. - And it maybe would all be worth it if the drinks were good. But they're not. Watery, bland, and strange - nothing like usual boba drinks (and not in a good way). We got a PB&J and it wasn't good at all for the reasons above. I also got a seasonal fruit Fresca and it literally only tasted like sour pear juice. Not worth coming here. It's a trendy money grab spot sadly.

Yelp
I love Donald Glover so I had to check "his" boba shop out. Unfortunately I think he should just stick to making music. The interior of this place was indeed beautiful and unique. Seating is very limited and youll be packed like sardines in the small seating space. Parking is tricky of course since its LA but I got lucky with street parking being right outside. It took a long time to order drinks. Each group took about 4 minutes. One of the reasons why it takes people so long is because theres no menu posted anywhere. You only see the menu once you get to the cashier. The cashier was super nice and friendly though. The drinks were honestly bad. I tried their jasmine milk tea and oolong milk tea ($7.50 each for a small cup lol). The tea tasted super watered down. The boba was hard and bland. So disappointing considering the steep price per drink.

Yelp
Love the aesthetic of the place but the drink tasted just like milk. Too expensive for a mediocre drink. There is limited street parking in front of the shop.

Yelp
Interesting concept and definitely hyped by Donald Glover/Childish Gambino's name in it. Also before reading the following, understand that I went during soft opening so I recognize some of these things are small kinks that may get resolved. However, overall this left a lot to be desired, especially if you drink bubble tea on the regular. My one major complaint: 2/3 of our drinks, the top was not sealed and they spilled when we tried to pop the straws in --Peanut butter and jelly man - true ti it's name, sweet and nutty, a good solid choice from their signatures --Hangover Cure - tastes like those savory smoked cocktails sans the alcohol so definitely an acquired taste. I didn't love it but I guess I hope it cures your hangover --Strawberry barley milk - essentially your standard strawberry milk you get at bubble tea shops and a solid choice. This is def the most familiar tasting of the bunch The ambiance was like when you walk in to one of those atmospheric sound experience art concepts but then you order bubble tea. But also if you prefer being roasted because it's a sun facing shop so it was quite warm. Since it just opened the line was about 10 minutes long--I didn't think it was worth the wait. Parking: paid street parking Seating: outdoor covered table Wifi: no so not great for working Payment: cashless preferred and tap to pay Vibe: art pop up who happens to be serving tea, not a bubble tea shop Dress code: casual or silverlake hipster I guess lmao

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place, but the boba is not very good. It's overpriced, small, and the flavors were weird together in all the drinks we got. But the workers are very nice and the vibes are great there! Still glad I tried it once just to experience it though.

Yelp
This spot was so good! I loved the atmosphere and the seating. It was cozy but fun. The manager was behind the register and she was the absolute best. She walked us through everything and let us know the staff had input in the menu. You could tell she was proud. She suggested the PB&J and she was spot on. I absolutely loved it. I cannot wait to come back

Yelp
Love the ambiance and the vibe of the place but that's about it. The boba I got was the coffee flavored one and it was mediocre. The other drink we got was the grape drink but it was too floral and it tasted like soap. And at 6 to 7 dollars per drink I think I'll just stick to the artisanal coffee around the area. Unfortunately this place is all hype and no substance.

Yelp
First off, the cashier was very nice and helpful. Was very good at explaining the menu to us as well. It's a very artsy place. You gotta look for the "boba" sign otherwise you could totally walk right past it. Their menu has drinks you wouldn't find at your typical boba shop. They have 3 milk options for their drinks; whole milk, oat milk, and almond milk. Definitely willing to go back to try another drink.
