Where to Find Excellent Jewish Food in Austin

"Owner Mo Pittle is a Jewish chef who grew up in El Paso, and he uses his background to create a menu that combines a deep Jewish culture with rich Mexican flavors via El Paso to create one-of-a-kind burger experiences. The Yenta burger comes with a Mexican diner-style burger layered with a latke, or just opt for solo latkes topped with onions and garlic or green chile and cheddar cheese. Plus there are black and white cookies. Find similar menus at JewBoy Sub Shop and JewBoy Sliders. Takeout orders can be placed online, there are indoor and outdoor dine-in services." - Nadia Chaudhury, Sommer Brugal

Google
I tweaked a sandwich and made it a Reuben and it was good. Very tasty. I also got the cheese bites too which were pretty good. The only confusing thing was I think I parked in the wrong parking lot but my car was still there without as ticket so that's a bonus. The only thing stopping me going back would be the location, let's hope they open some south locations!

Google
Friendly staff helped me pick out a sandwich. Just a heads up, they are moving locations, not shutting down. Eating this sandwich was like finding a long lost lover. I got the rueben and the pastrami or whatever main meat they put on it was DELICIOUS, tender, flavorful, couldn’t put the sub down. Get the regular size, even though it’s about 7 inches it’ll fill you up even without sides. $16 for the sub, while yes that is expensive, meat is falling out and the ingredients are high quality. These subs have love and effort intertwined in every bite. I think i’m in love. He did it again.

Our first time at this place, the staff was super friendly. The cashier explained the menu and gave us some great recommendations. The food was absolutely delicious!

Google
Excellent sandwich shop! I had the Standard with chicken for lunch & it was delicious & juicy. They have a nice little selection of beers & a warm & welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend! I’ll be back.

Google
An interesting way to cut bread for a sandwich. Down the middle, top down. Cheese steak all over the basket and table before I could even take a bite.

Google
I've gone here twice now and have really enjoyed both times. I ordered the jumbo sized standard cheesesteak the first time I went, and it was enough for two people. The food itself was great, fries were really crunchy, the queso was thick, and the meat was well seasoned. I also got a hot chocolate and burnt my mouth because of how hot it was, I wouldn't order that again. I got the chicken parm sandwich and regular sized standard last time I went and while the standard continued to be great, I thought the chicken parm was just okay - the sauce was good, but there were too many onions on it. I ordered the chips and queso (which is about 8 ounces of queso) as well, and that was good for dipping my fries in. Next time I go, I'll be sticking with the standard cheesesteak and fries, no hot chocolate, no chicken parm.

Google
One of, if not the best subs in Austin! Friendly staff, great food, inside and outside areas, easy garage parking. This place is on of the best food spots in the area. Choice of fries or chips, where the fries basically make the sandwich into a 2 person or meal affair. The person that checked me out was very hospitable and knowledgeable and helped me make a great first order. Came in around 1:50 and I am still here trying to finish my meal alone. Servers name was Trisha, she was excellent. Got her name and wanted to add that.

Google
I've been a huge fan of JewBoy Burgers for a while, so I was excited to try their new sub shop. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint! The Puffs Pastrami Ruben style and Kings Club were both incredible. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the bread was fresh and delicious. We also tried their falafel, which was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. JewBoy Sub Shop has definitely earned a spot on my list of favorite restaurants. If you're looking for a delicious and satisfying meal, I highly recommend giving them a try!

Yelp
As usual about any place under the Jewboy name, this place is a knock out of the park. Appropriately priced, delicious, and great service at this casual sub shop. The fajita sub was delicious and my partner ended up loving it, but I felt like the shrimp po boy was even better. Definitely did not skimp on the shrimp and it paired well with the tangy slaw. No wonder it's a fan-favorite (which they indicate on the menu). They also had a special to buy some pastrami corn dog balls which was absolutely AMAZING, and although they don't seem to be a permanent item, it should be (plus they reheat really well). Overall recommend from me!

Yelp
Qualify definitely dropped since I last visited (about a year ago) Staff was pretty blasé about questions or any interaction really. They also changed the schnitzel chicken parm to just a chicken parm. So it's like a lot less protein, sauce and bread. I ordered a chicken parm with extra sauce and it came dry with three, tiny containers of sauce ‍ I guess "extra sauce" is subjective... Oh well. Guess I'll have to find another place to get sandos.

Yelp
As a former Philadelphian for 30 years... Here is how I describe this place: the burger shop is Michael Jordan basketball. This sub shop is Michael Jordan baseball and cologne. Got the OG Philly and the Pastrami. The Philly was bland af. There was an entire element of salt that never made it to the flavor profile. He NEEDS to rework the recipe or take it off the menu. Absolutely would not recommend. And that sure AF was not an Amoroso roll. It had the consistency of a Costco hotdog roll. This should not be exist in its current form. The pastrami was better, but not a $15 sandwich. It tasted more like the cheesesteak than the actual cheesesteak. The Parmesan fries were really good. Mozzarella sticks were mid. Wouldn't order those again. Overall, this wasn't a $75 meal. If I'm the owner, I'm taking subs off the menu and focusing on burgers. That's the move.

Yelp
Hot subs !!!!!! Yessssss Great customer service!!! Amazing food !!! Asada is my fav Can't go wrong with their house aoli Definitely recommend this place
google avatar

Nasiah R.

Yelp
The cafe is spacious with lots of seating. You go to the bar to place an order- it isn't a full service restaurant. I had the Q VO Chicken Fajita Bacon Ranch and a side of fries. The sandwich was very large but lacked flavor. It was underwhelming. I feel like the sandwich was a waste of money and I would have preferred to get food elsewhere. The French fries were delicious and cooked to crispy perfection. Overall, I wasn't blown away with my experience. I don't anticipate going back anytime soon.
google avatar

Yelp
Sandwich was great! Loved the multiple sauces. Chips were great too. Great casual spot for a sandwich and they do trivia! Will definitely come back to try some other sandwiches!
google avatar

Yelp
What a cute little spot! Very grungy and a charmed local spots. I got the shrimp po boy which was one of their popular items! The shrimp was freshly crispy and the coleslaw was very saucy. The bread was very soft too. My only note was that it was such a big bite hard to get it all in one. Very filling!
google avatar

Ety G.

Yelp
OH MY GOD! I don't know why it took me so long to try them out but these subs are incredible! I tried their Shrimp Po Boy and I don't know for a fact if they use fresh shrimp or not but when I tell you I could still taste the saltwater in those shrimps! WOW it was so delicious! My partner tried their classic OG Philly Cheesesteak and although I am not a fan of steak, I can tell you it was seasoned and flavored so well! Lastly, we shared a basket of fries and I asked for a side of their aioli sauce to dip, just WOW. The fries had a perfect crisp to them and their aioli sauce was perfect for them. I also tried their slushee cranberry drink and it was really good, we sat outside on their perfectly shaded patio and I can honestly say it was the perfect refresher for a hot summer day. The decor is also super fun in the place, it has a bunch of popular movie references, very cool vibes and the staff is super friendly and very open to giving you recommendations on their personal favorites! This place has it all, the food, the staff, the ambiance! Great spot for friends and family, give them a visit, you won't regret it!

Yelp
A really beautiful outdoor sitting space, highly recommend! Tried their philly sub and fries and it was all good. Service is slow. I'd eat here again, just for the outdoor ambiance.

Yelp
Best sandwiches in Austin! This is from the same team that run Jewboy Burgers. They bring the same great flavors but in sandwich form and without the long lines. Go try it before it blows up like the burger shop! I love a good Philly but can never find them. All of their sandwiches look amazing but I love the Philly's so much I can bring myself to try any of the other ones! I can say both the OG and the carne asada are on point. Go get these asap!!
google avatar

Tony R.

Yelp
Service was pretty quick during lunchtime and signage was easy to follow via the parking garage. The carne asada sandwich was pretty good. Good sandwiches, definitely worth the stop! I hill vibe here, lots of people hanging out eating sandwiches
google avatar

Nathan F.

Yelp
Cool atmosphere, with nice, shaded, patio/outdoor dining under a giant pecan tree. Quick service. They have garage parking. They have gluten-free bread!! As for the sandwich, it was not bad, but didn't blow my mind. The portions were good, but it was not as flavorful as other cheese steaks I've had- in Philly and Texas; that was a bit disappointing.
google avatar

Diana S.

Yelp
I tried Jewboy because of a friends recommendation. After going once I've gone back at least 5 more times. I always get their shrimp po boy, and it truly is a classic. Service is also super fast and friendly. Overall it kinda gives a sports bar vibe when you first walk but not in a bad way! I've watched a lot of the Olympics here and some baseball and truly enjoyed it.
google avatar

Sam R.

Yelp
This place is a joke. Overpriced for small portions that taste underwhelming. When I order a 15$ sub I expect to be full at the end. Service is ok and I like the location but the food and prices are a joke. The name seems a little weird too even if it IS a Jewish owned business
google avatar

Lauren G.

Yelp
Considering converting.. I was overwhelmed so I asked about their top three sandwiches. The cashier imedietly pulled a light saber out and pointed on the wall.both of our sandwiches were great. The staff is very helpful with ordering and all around. It's really does feel like someone's home almost with all the trim keys and personal touches.

Yelp
THE COLSON VIP FRENCH DIP WITH PARMESAN FRIES??? Must I say more? Thinly sliced succulent slow roasted sirloin from heaven, smothered in rich Au Ju simmered grilled onions, delicately placed on a hoagie roll then covered in flowing melty provolone cheese. Served with a cup of hot Au Ju for dipping to splash all over your taste buds. Don't forget the spicy jardinière for the Italian experience. I REGRET NOTHING! All jokes aside this place is amazing, cant wait to go back and try another great pick. You really can't go wrong here, it really all looks fantastic. Everything at this establishment is on point; clean place, good customer service, the food is so good you're gonna smack yo momma for not cooking like this when you were a child. Great vibes, great people, great everything. The cashier was so kind, even gave us her little spiel about all the great things on the menu, very helpful. There's a outside seating area under the trees with some fans, we came on a beautiful day so we sat outside to soak up the great weather and enjoy our perfect meal.

Yelp
Got two philly cheese steaks and they were pretty good - tons of cheese which was nice. I think I prefer the sliders over sandwiches though!
google avatar

Shirlyn S.

Yelp
Was excited to try this place as my partner and I are big fans of their burgers! We did it to go and the portion was big, just like their burgers. However I think I like their burgers better. I got the chicken schnitzel Parmesan which was breaded really well, but I wish it had a little more seasoning in the breading itself instead of mostly relying on the side of tomato sauce that came with it. The buns though, were good as usual. My partner has the carne asada sub and he said it was just alright. I think the food here is decent, we just prefer their burger joint!
google avatar

Corey D.

Yelp
This place is great. Love the decor, the friendly staff's vibe complete with lightsaber menu walk-thru and the OG Philly was excellent. Want to come back to try one of their hot dogs! Fries were bomb as most fried things are from Jewboy establishments but the cheese sticks in my opinion were just ok. I'm sure the ingredients are super high quality but I like my mozarella sticks to be stretchy because that's part of the fun of eating it. These were more globular if that makes sense. They have Electric Jellyfish on tap. Price for everything pictured with tip and a 22oz electric jellyfish and mandarin soda bottle was about $61.
google avatar

Ming L.

Yelp
Nastily delicious - this appears to be the goal of Jewboy's flurry of restaurants and it hits the spot if that's exactly what you're looking for. There is some active construction nearby and you can't access the location well directly from Burnet, but there is ample parking in the garage located behind the restaurant. The staff is casual and relaxed and can give you good recommendations based on what you're looking for. Everyone has a different taste, but I'd highly recommend trying out the Pastrami corn dog bites. They offer three different sauces and you can try them all (highly recommend). Po'boy itself was tasty and they carry Yellowbird, arguably one of the tastiest hot sauce companies around and also a Texas-based brand. Come after a workout, or if you're just feeling fat and want to a heavy gutbomb of a taste bud wrecker.
google avatar

Timmy S.

Yelp
I liked it. But maybe I didn't order what they are best known for. I had the chicken parmigiana sandwich and had a beer. The place is nice and has a cool bar. It seems to have a local fan base. I'll give it another try sometime. I was told the Philly Cheesesteak is the go to.

Lauren H.

Yelp
Spectacular give me 14 of them right now Truly a perfect Philly. Genuinely makes you feel and see love.
google avatar

Pearl G.

Yelp
Holy cheese-sticks!! It's been a good while since I've had a bomb cheese-stick: crispy, flavorful outside and warm, soft mozz cheese inside. 10 out of 10 for this must have app. Tried both the pastrami and OG philly's both were missing a little bit of umph to them. I'd have to pass on them next time and give a stab to something else on the menu, which by the way has a lot of options. This place has a great relaxed ambiance to it, welcoming staff, nice variety of brews, and a large outside patio.
google avatar

Zach O.

Yelp
Alrighty, so I've been to all establishments in the Jewboy family and can rank them as such: Jewboy burgers, Jewboy sub shop, Jewboy sliders. Don't get me wrong, the subs are good and I'd enjoy them again, but I feel like the bang for the buck isn't there. I got the Southside Carne Asada Philly and made it the Border Philly way. It was solid the meat was flavorful, the sandwich had a kick, and the veggies exploded with flavor with every bite. But the fries is where I was pretty let down. When you order a side of fries with your meal, you usually hope for a true side of fries. Unfortunately, there were almost enough to count on two hands, hardly a side in my eyes. So that was a downer. This place was good, but idk if I'd make it a regular spot.
google avatar

Brett H.

Yelp
We order this for our office every few weeks and everyone loves it. I'm trying to work my way around the menu, because everything is so damn good! Love the new boy chain! Keep it up!
google avatar

Scott S.

Yelp
First, I gotta say the ppl that work here are very friendly and helpful. Second, the menu is really fun and I can't recommend the Carne Asada cheesesteak enough. Absolutely fantastic. I'm a big fan of their fries too. Matza ball soup is hard to get in the ATX, so I'm grateful when I can get it. Solid, not quite Grandma's from Staten Island, but a solid offering.
google avatar

J M.

Yelp
Having eaten a great burger at JewBoy Burgers, I had to try Mo Pittle's other place. Honestly, he knocks it out of the park with this one. The menu has a wide variety of hot and cold subs, Mo's take on a Philly, hot dogs, and amazing sides. We got the OG Philly and French Dip both with fries. They were amazing. I never thought a Philly could be improved on, but this is the best l've had. The fries were crispy and fresh. One thing to remember about anything you get from JewBoy, it isn't a small portion. If you walk away hungry, then you did something wrong. If you get the chance to talk with Mo, do it. He's a friendly man and if he's behind a restaurant, eat there. It will be amazing.
google avatar

Yelp
Arrived at the venue on saturadas afternoon around 1pm. They seem to have a pop up event and a lot of the tables have notes saying will be vendor occupied around 2 pm. They have outdoor sitting so we were able to bring our pup with us. We ordered the og and also the chili dog with fries on the side. The og sub is delicious, tons of cheese and super rich. However we waited about 40-45 mins for the food to be ready. This is absurd for a sub shop and the main reason that I gave 3 stars. The owner apologized for us for the delays, but never truly gave us a reason. Another caveat is the chili dog is super duper salty. I think the hotdog is salty already and the chili feels like someone spilled salt on it. I had to drink tons of water. Overall, I think it's still worth to give a try, but you Might get a hit and miss experience.
google avatar

Danielle B.

Yelp
We ate here on a Wednesday afternoon around 12:30 pm. The restaurant is cute, clean and has plenty of indoor/outdoor seating. There were only a few tables taken when we arrived but by the time we left it was pretty full inside. The menu is small but it has plenty of a variety of variety if you're going with a group. Everything we had was tasty and the portions were great for the price. They were out of the spicy brown mustard so that was the only let down. The jewboy Paloma drink was excellent. We would definitely eat here again. We waited about 30 mins for the food but the food was fresh.
google avatar

Connie X.

Yelp
Jewboy sub shop has a nice little charming vibe. It gives off a retro feel and the Philly cheesesteak was absolutely delicious. While the Reuben was decent, it is overtaken by the Philly cheesesteak. The food is a decent price and one sub is enough for one person. The basket of chips is $3 and they give you sour cream and onion dip which is very good. I enjoyed the chips but my boyfriend was not the biggest fan of them and I have to say that overall I enjoyed my experience here. The staff is great and gave recommendations when we asked for them and they were overall just excellent. The service is quick and you are able to get your food at a decent rate. I fully enjoyed my time here and would come back again for some subs. We spent probably in the $20 range for two people and it was not super pricey by any means. They have a lot of indoor and outdoor seating with parking options nearby.
google avatar

Scott H.

Yelp
Everything about this place is perfect! Just go NOW! Authentic and filling just the way it's supposed to be, worn and enjoyed!
google avatar

Josh M.

Yelp
So good that I felt compelled to immediately go to Yelp, haha. Always incredible service at Jewboy Subs and Jewboy Burgers (I've yet to go to their sliders food truck.) If you're looking for the perfect order, it's the Puff's Pastrami, Reuben style with a basket of fries and extra schmutz sauce. Their special "House Smoked Turkey Hatch Green Chili and Pimento Cheese Melt" on focaccia was fantastic. I'm glad I was able to get it before it left the menu!
google avatar

Brenna H.

Yelp
This place was good, but not what I was expecting. I got a hot pastrami sandwich and it was delicious which is why I'm still giving 4 stars but I did want to write a review because if you're like me and are expecting a Jewish deli type situation, I don't want you to be surprised like I was. This place to me gives much more of a sports bar vibe. It's loud and crowded and the vibe of the food reminds me much more of a bar. Still a great place to go but if you were looking for a deli type situation this isn't that for me. The staff was helpful though and I did enjoy the food.
google avatar

Jason D.

Yelp
I can't believe it took me this long to try out the sub shop, knowing how much I love the burgers shop and the sliders truck. My family dropped by before the Austin FC match and were excited that there was no wait. The staff was SUPER friendly and took the time to describe each sandwich on the menu with a lightsaber. I'm a huge Star Wars nerd, so I loved this. Collectively, we had three different sandwich types, meatballs, and cheese sticks. Everything was solid BUT the chicken park sandwich specifically gets 4 stars. Each individual component gets 5 stars, especially the sweet bun, but I would have liked an even cheese distribution. It was clumped right in the middle so the flavor didn't spread throughout. I look forward to going back to try more stuff and really looking more closely at their art. I especially loved seeing an OG Star Tours poster.
google avatar

Michael Z.

Yelp
The food is unique and delicious but the service is next level. I also like the ambience. Drink specials are friendly and delicious. Don't forget to play Ms. Pac-Man or sit outside.
google avatar

Kareem R.

Yelp
The OG and French fries were amazing. I love sandwiches. This place will become my go to when I'm craving. The service was amazing as well.

J C.

Yelp
We picked some subs up to-go for an outdoor event at Zilker Park. I had no expectations of the sub but honestly, I enjoyed it! Pretty standard philly cheesesteak and flavors in my opinion. If I had to compare, I would say that their Jewboy Burger shop has more of a wow factor, but I still would order from this sub place again.
google avatar

Natalie K.

Yelp
Being MASSIVE fans of Jewboy Burgers, it was only a simple matter of time before we would find our way to Jewboy Sub Shop, and oh, my Baby Jesus, y'all! Can I get a what what? Too dang good to be legal, and stylish as eff, to boot! When we walked in, GnR was tastefully blaring, and the place was delightfully warm (it's currently 26 degrees outside)! This place oozes cool, and I'm totally here for it! And. They. Have. A. Full. Bar. Hooray! Bad Boy Shrimp Po Boy - I picked this as the least powerful calorie bomb in the place (LOL!), and it was deliciously simple and just lovely! Puff's Pastrami - This is the winner! A modern take on an old school classic Reuben. That pastrami is just EVERYTHING! You can totally tell that it was lovingly and reverently prepared! So unbelievably good! Chutzpah Chicken Schnitzel - it's like pizza on a bun in the best way possible! Juicy chicken goodness! Basket of Fries - A delicious and necessary accompaniment, of course. That Schmutz sauce! Hard yes! As the dust settles on our late lunch, and my husband drinks his Guinness with a satisfied smile on his face, my stepson drinks his Austin Amber while watching Red Bull TV playing behind the bar, and I sip my Cabernet, I declare us all exceedingly well pleased! Thanks, Jewboy Sub Shop! Y'all truly do rock!
google avatar

Diane T.

Yelp
I love the Jewboy Burger Shop and this is a fantastic addition to the Jewboy family. Puffs Pastrami Philly and Parmesan fries = match made in heaven. The pastrami is juicy and tender without being overly salted and the fries are perfectly crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. You have two choices with the Puff's Pastrami to either top it with mustard or have a sauerkraut topping. Def. Be prepared for a food coma after , but totally worth it. Logistics wise: there's a free parking garage for patrons next to it. There's also plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Bonus points is that they're dog friendly on the patio with dog water bowls and you can even snag a dog treat inside for the baby to enjoy whilst you chow down.
google avatar

Amanda M.

Yelp
I used online ordering, and I'm glad I did! It was packed. Looked like a full bar and counter service for food. Large outdoor patio may be nice in fall. All the servers had good attitudes and smiles. Order was sacked and ready to go when I arrived- hit things in a heater and cold left out till arrival. I'm hat is a big bonus! We ordered a carne asada cheesesteak, an oh cheesesteak, a turkey sandwich and some fries. It seems priced rather high. I asked for subbed cheese and no lettuce on the turkey. It came with reg cheese and lettuce, but no sauce or chips. The cheesesteaks were decent, but nothing too special. Fries were excellent. Sauces were okay.
google avatar

Dave C.

Yelp
Much like Jewboy Burgers, but with a deli twist. The sandwiches we ordered (Rueben and chicken something) were damned tasty. That said, the Rueben was light on meat. The sauerkraut, Russian dressing and cheese were all present, but covered up the fact that there just wasn't much besides those. Tasty yes, but not the value I was expecting. Portion control is clearly not a priority. The ambiance was nice and so were the staff. But in the end you come back for the food. In this case, you're not getting quite what you pay for. And in Austin, there are too many options that hit better than this.
google avatar

Jay L.

Yelp
Been to jewboy burgers and always enjoy it so first time trying the sub shop. Pastrami was a little too tough for my liking. Bread was nice. Matzo ball soup was not up to par. The ball was fine but the broth tasted like fake premanufactured chicken broth and not from a chicken cooked fresh in water to make the broth. The music was heavy metal loud which was not pleasant and the tables needed a good wipedown.
google avatar

Md N.

Yelp
The server was so kind and recommended us wonderful food. Everything we got was amazing and the plate was wiped clean!
google avatar

Aaron C.

Yelp
I have heard alot about this place, it was just okay. The philly was a bit dry but seasoned fine. I didnt care for the bread. The definition of okay.
google avatar

Jasmine L.

Yelp
Omg. My friends have raved about jewboy and this is our first visit to a jewboy location. So delicious we got the Chicken Parm, fried Mozzarella and French dip. Everything was delicious. My fiancé was so happy with the chicken parm and the bread. It's just a little sweet almost like a Hawaiian roll. The cheese here isn't your flavorless cheap cheese. It's good and flavorful. Service was nice, fast, and delicious. Can't wait to come back and try some more. I want to try the matzo ball soup next time.

Yelp
OVERVIEW: I've tried their burgers so of course I was eager to try the subs, though all-in I'd give this a solid 3.5/5 (rounded up since we can't do 1/2 stars). I'd say I like their burgers better, but the sub shop offers a wider variety of menu items, and the Philly cheesesteaks do not disappoint (though the mozzarella sticks sure do). In my opinion the prices are still a bit steep for what it is. You order at the counter and pay and then they'll text you when the order's ready. Nice indoor seating, fun art, and a pretty spacious patio for when it's not 100 degrees out! QUICK FACTS: - Parking? Yes, park in the retail/visitor spots in the apartment garage behind the building. The entrance to the sub shop is also on the backside. - Happy hour? Yes, Tues.-Sun. from 7-9pm (a bit later than usual happy hours). - Reservations? Nah. - Takeout/online ordering? Yes. FOOD RATINGS: - Parmesan fries (3/5): Crispy and skinny with a sprinkle of parmesan and salt. Comes with a smoky mayo dip and ketchup. Good but nothing special. - Mozzarella sticks (1/5): These have potential but they tasted like and reminded me of the texture of tofu (bland). At the very least they needed a good sprinkle of salt, but not sure even that could save them. The marinara sauce it came with was also incredibly bland...I sure hope they use a different one on the meatball sub. I could hardly finish them. - Chicken fajita bacon ranch Philly (3.5/5): Great fajita meat - tender, juicy, flavorful. Everything else as expected. I almost forgot the bacon was there since it only seemed to be in the second half of my sandwich (I cut it in half) and the ranch flavor was missing altogether. Still tasty, though. - OG Philly w/house-made cheese whiz (4/5): Probably the best thing we ordered, as you would expect given this seems to be one of their most popular subs. The house-made cheese whiz is pretty good and overall it was a nice sandwich. The bread is nothing special and mostly just is in the way.

Yelp
If you've been to Jewboy Burger you're in for a treat here as well! The food is perfect for this weather, and to be honest you can probably eat your hot subs outside and feel warm from your decadent meal. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly too so don't be afraid to ask for their recs, because trust me, after looking at the pictures on the wall you're going to have a hard time not ordering everything. The Philly Cheesesteak is amazing but I have to admit, after trying a bite of the French Dip, I regretted not getting that one instead haha! The au jus they give you brings such a depth of flavor and the bread perfectly soaks it up.

Yelp
Well, it is safe to say Jewboy lived up to every expectation that I had. My husband got the OG Philly Cheesesteak and I got the French Dip Sandwich. Both were amazing, luckily he let me have a bite of his sandwich as well. Their homemade cheese whiz is out of this world!!! I also got the Matzo Ball soup... the broth was so flavorful and the Matzo Ball was scrumptious. So bummed we don't live in the area, I'd be a regular here. I haven't had a sub like that in ages!!! We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Ones of the best sandwich shops in town. Can't wait to come back and eat my way through the menu. Got the Puff's Pastrami in a Reuben-style. The Southside Carne Asada was also delicious.
