Ji Xiang Bao Zi

Went for the pork pancake, but it was ok. Disappointingly It tasted like it only had pork flavouring—I couldn’t see any actual pieces of pork, and every bite was mostly cabbage. Up there with the best quick eats in Chinatown. This is a small grab and go spot which has a small menu of savoury pancakes - similar in style to the western “fritter” - and bao buns. Their pancakes are a combination of meet and vegetables in a savoury batter which is fried. These are absolutely delicious with their oyster one being my go to. They are constantly frying new ones so you are guaranteed a piping hot pancake. Each one is very large and reasonably priced from £3.50-£4.50 and have plenty of meat. Their bao buns are also quite large and come packed with meat. A must try!

The bao texture is quite legit (not the super fluffy kind, it's got bite) , the filling is nonstandard and quite plain honestly, but at least wasn't bad. We got the beef

I came to Chinatown while visiting London and tried these wonderful buns. I took a beef bun, it was delicious and hot. Truly perfect for the cold weather these days. Keep in mind that they only accept cash so make sure to withdraw some beforehand. For foreigners there is a currency exchange office at the end of the street (1 min walk).

such good prices for what you get! The bao buns are all £3.50 and so are the pancakes, and they’re really big. The only thing is it’s currently cash only so don’t forget to bring some actual money 🩷🩷

Oyster bun tastes very yummy and also pork bun you should try! If they have spicy sauce to dip must be perfect! Oyster bun £4.5 worth for the price!

Mum & I touristing London. It’s a very cosy little unassuming spot, so don’t miss it! We stood outside and a man took our order as we paid outside the door, and he passed it out to us. We shared a chicken pancake and it was delightful, so flavourful we almost went back for seconds! Less than £4 and it was quite large and very tasty!

Recently visited Chinatown and was craving for bao, but came across their chicken pancake style bao. It did not disappoint. You can see through the window how they cook it. I paid £3.50 for it, which is affordable. Very delicious and made fresh. It has a nice crunch and then soft filling. Very flavourful. I've tried their baos previously. It's absolutely delicious and definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. They only accept cash and this is only for takeaway/grab and go.
