The Best Coffee Shops In Philly - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"This Washington Square West shop is a perennial favorite thanks to its friendly service, solid selection of pastries (including vegan and GF options from High Fidelity Bakery), and coffee from D.C.’s Small Planes for your morning pick-me-up. But the real reason to go out of your way for Jiggy is that it takes matcha as seriously as DINKWAD’s take crate training. They make the best matcha latte in the city: it’s creamy and perfectly layered with flavors like rose, lavender, or sesame from house-made syrups." - alison kessler

Google
Wonderful find! I had rose latte (with almond milk) and it was a delightful treat - with Rose flavor subtle enough to be pleasant and strong enough to be exotic. Kinda makes to smile! Lovely service, very cute place.

Michelle

Google
Jiggy coffee was a great spot to hang out and enjoy a matcha latte! The matcha was thoroughly whisked and did not have any chunks sinking to the bottom - which often occurs when rushed. I’m so happy I was finally able to give this spot a try!

Tina B.

Google
Really nice matcha! I got the Rose Matcha Latte, which I guess is seasonal. Was worried it might be too sweat, but the rose was nice and subtle. They’ve got a few chairs inside and outside, but this is more of a take-out place.

Z

Google
The matcha is good. The service is horrible. Everyone working there is very unfriendly and unhappy and seems to hate what they’re doing. Will I be back? Probably not.

Simon Song

Google
Rode all the way from NYC for a flat white...and Philly did not disappoint. Best coffee i've had! Get here early, grab a chair and let the day disappear...

Petr Svoboda

Google
This coffee spot is my little oasis for great drinks and a chill atmosphere. Their pastries are always fresh and the matcha is a personal favorite.

Raytah’s Closet

Google
the atmosphere was nice and the people were pleasant ! I will say their matcha was not that bright and I could barely taste the matcha flavor . very milky & couldn’t taste the caramel syrup I added as well. I just personally would not return for their matcha at all! Matcha is supposed to be a brighter green shade.

Google
Jiggy Coffee is a great place to stop and grab a bite, a drink, or a good conversation. I stopped by on a morning walk and the baristas were so friendly and chatty! They helped me decide what to get and I ended up loving it! Forgot to even take a photo of my delicious donut before scarfing it down! They also have inventive coffees beyond the typical. Can’t wait to come back and try other options here!

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday afternoon and it was still rather busy! Jiggy Coffee is rather small but there are a few seats available. The staffs are really fast despite how busy it was. I don't see rose matcha latte a lot so it certainly caught my attention when I saw it on the menu. And I was very pleased to learn about this combination - the floral taste of the rose syrup worked really well with matcha. It was very well balanced and matcha was still strong enough that it wasn't overpowered. Overall a pretty good coffee shop in the neighborhood. I would love to come back for a visit and try out their espresso next time.
google avatar

Yelp
Decent coffee here. Think I would've enjoy it more if I've gotten a non specialty drink. Got the lavender latte and thought it was still too sweet with less sugar The matcha sesame latte felt too milky and sesame felt light and lacked matcha flavors
google avatar

Denny C.

Yelp
This is such a cute cafe that I was excited to try it. I took a leap and had one of their matcha drinks with black sesame paste and oh my god it was so good. I'm hoping I can find a comparable drink in my neck of the woods. I also had a vegan sandwich cookie and this was also delicious. Can't wait to visit again when I'm back in philly.

Yelp
I am obsessed with Rose and Matcha, individually, and a trusted source told me that Jiggy serves the best Rose Matcha latte, so I have been itching to go since. I was at the nearby Italian street festival and even after having eaten a bunch of pastries, pizza slices and what not, I can say going to Jiggy's was the best decision I made. Their rose matcha combo is something I had never tasted before. Surprisingly, the rose flavor really came through and so did the matcha. The latte was extremely flavorful and creamy. A lot of cafes in Philly serve rose flavored lattes but usually the flavor falls weak - so much so you can barely taste it. They didn't overwhelm the iced latte with a ton of ice. I also love that they make it the traditional way with a whisk. I am partially mad at myself for not having come here before and partially ecstatic to have found the best tasting matcha latte in the city. Much love!
google avatar

Lynn D.

Yelp
Rose matcha latte has a unique flavor, somewhat like rose water being added to the matcha. Still subtle and not overpowering. Bright and clean interior with prompt and friendly service. An instagram influencer ranked this place a top 3 matcha spot in philly; i still like social house more for being so sweet and concentrated, but this flavor was very cool
google avatar

Michael C.

Yelp
A pretty small corner shop with limited seating. Staff was super friendly, but there wasn't any AC running, so it was honestly super stuffy and hot inside. Definitely more of a takeout spot! I got the dirty black sesame latte. Their black sesame isn't sweetened at all, which I appreciated. The flavor was good, and you could tell that it was freshly made sesame paste, rather than powdered. However, maybe because it was fresh, most of the residue kept sinking to the bottom of the drink, which definitely made the drink less sesame forward than it could have been. Overall, a decent spot to check out!

Yelp
I stopped in right after opening and the baristas were nice - very quick service. I got a seasonal pumpkin latte and enjoyed it/felt it was well crafted. There are a few seats but it seems like most of the other customers were locals who were getting to-go coffee and a little conversation.
google avatar

Cherie C.

Yelp
I ordered something called a dirty sesame latte. It was milk, black sesame paste, and a shot of espresso. It was delicious. There's not much seating here, so I'd recommend you get your drink to go like I did since the few c seats were filled on my visit. They were cool about using my travel mug, which I appreciate. The space is simple and focused on serving up good coffee for the neighborhood. I like it.
google avatar

Shane B.

Yelp
Very impressed with the little coffee shop in the corner! Friendly staff Great assortment of unique flavors for your morning pick-me-up Fresh breakfast options for anyone's taste A wonderful go-to for anyone looking for a non-franchise, small coffee shop feel ... or honestly, just a great tasting cup of Joe!
google avatar

David H.

Yelp
Great coffee, small shop with some space for seating inside and out. delicious cortado
google avatar

Michael S.

Yelp
I don't know much about this place, if the two people who helped us were the owners or staff, but they were working their butts off, and never missed a beat to be friendly and even unfold some chairs for our small party. Jiggy is an adorable little spot that may not look like much from the outside, but the inside is full of heart and delicious drinks made with care. Next time I'm in Philly, I want to stop by again!
google avatar

Briana G.

Yelp
Maple late was so yummy! Definitely want to try a matcha next time and one of their pastries!
google avatar

Kinjal S.

Yelp
Small coffee shop with some seating, looks like more a grab and go place. I got a latte and it was good. The espresso was really good. Not burnt or bitter at all.
google avatar

Caroline C.

Yelp
Good coffee and the baristas seem nice and approachable. Not a cafe I would hang out in, but I prefer that it's an easy and friendly grab and go spot. Lots of good drinks and snacks to come back and try. And it's not too expensive which is appreciated. Don't forget to tip too! :)
google avatar

Greg T.

Yelp
Stopped in on a Sunday morning to grab a quick coffee for my wife. Nothing quick about it. Took about 25 minutes to order and receive my drinks. They were busy and with only two people working, you can't really expect much else. Service was friendly and drinks were solid, but make sure you have time if you are stopping in on a weekend. Love to support local business over the chains, but also have to be honest when there's things that could be done better.

Yelp
Jiggy was such an impressive spot to visit. I ordered an iced rose latte with oat milk and a vegan coffee cake. The drink was excellent. I saw that Jiggy stocks DC-based Small Planes Coffee, which is great stuff. I imagine that they make their own syrups; the rose was really good, and their lavender brown sugar would've been my first choice were it not out of stock. They use Oatly (good sign!). I didn't have their chai, but based on the two types I think they use Rishi concentrate, which is one of the best (if not the best) concentrates out there. The coffee cake was good and I was happy that they had such a robust pastry selection. Their menu is clearly labeled with what's vegan and not vegan. While the seating is limited (no tables), the barstool/high top against the wall setup that they have is conducive to work and to light conversation. We were there at 7:30am and the way the light comes into their space is beautiful. I really felt that Jiggy's proprietors were focused on making good coffee and were thoughtful and kind. Next time I am in Philly, I will literally go out of my way to go here.

Yelp
Stopped in to try the black sesame latte, which without sweetener was not very tasty. Had a bagel which was.. subpar if you're used to NJ bagels. I liked the friendly people behind the counter, and their plain cappuccino/coffee drinks are good.
google avatar

Amanda J.

Yelp
small unassuming coffee shop that serves coffee + matcha and has a variety of vegan baked goods! the staff were friendly and there wasn't a long wait for drinks. personally i wouldn't come back for the matcha latte as the matcha flavor wasn't strong and the color was a bit pale. the coffee drinks did look good and would come back to try that or one of their specials
google avatar

Cameryn J.

Yelp
A really cute coffee shop with quick and friendly service. I got a caramel oat milk latte, which was delicious. I think this is the perfect place to grab a coffee to go but not sit and do work.
google avatar

Soprina G.

Yelp
Jiggy coffee provides quick but WELL-MADE coffees/teas! This may be my go to place for coffee. I had the best London Fog from here. They made me a London Fog where the earl gray tea had a predominant flavor. It was brewed well! The oat milk didn't mask the flavor of the tea either. I was very delighted!
google avatar

Jo L.

Yelp
DRINKS I ordered their iced masala chai with regular milk. It was a bit on the sweeter end as it is presweetened, but the spices of the drink were absolutely lovely and complemented the milk and sweetness as a whole. It was refreshing and a nice treat on a sunny day. FOOD I ordered the Okie Dokie blueberry lemon basil cake donut, and it was decent. For a vegan donut, the aquafaba flavor was definitely present, but it wasn't too overpowering compared to the rest of the donut. SERVICE The staff were really kind and friendly, and you could tell they developed a great relationship with their customers on an individual basis. AMBIANCE The place is small and cozy with minimal seating (about 3 counter seats by the window). It's typically a grab-and-go than a sit-down sort of place. PARKING Paid street parking is available at a limited capacity.
google avatar

Joseph Anthony S.

Yelp
Yeah the rumors are true! It's awesome. Not a coffee connoisseur, but I like their iced mocha a ton. Strong, good balance with oat milk, had a depth of flavor, still delicious after letting the ice melt. Either that or I have low expectations and it's still good. Highly recommend

Yelp
Yesterday, I visited Jiggy coffee for the first time. I walked in, there wasn't really an ambiance. Just a few uncushioned chairs, a high top bar with 2-3 chairs l, and a very simple menu. No decor. This seems like more of a spot that people just grab joe2go at, not a hang out. I completed my order, the vanilla latte took about 8 minutes to complete. The service was friendly enough--and the latte was about a 3/5. The latte was mostly foam and i didnt love the flavor of the syrup (which seemed to be sugarless). After it melted down a big it was Okay. The logo is cool.
google avatar

Elizabeth H.

Yelp
Amazing coffee with incredible service! The menu has rotating seasonal drinks and there are always delicious pastries (vegan options available).
google avatar

Noy O.

Yelp
Stopped in this morning, quick walk from 10th and Locust. Friendly greeting. Didn't feel rushed. Yummy lavender brown sugar latte. Barista says they make the syrup themselves. It was yummy! Stop in!
google avatar

Lauren M.

Yelp
A great little spot for excellent coffee. The winter orange cappuccino is to die for! Not much of a seating area, so be prepared to take your order to go. The staff is always so welcoming too!
google avatar

Magnolia M.

Yelp
Jiggy Coffee sits at the corner of 10th and Pine St. Inside you will find a quaint spot for beverages and pastries. The baristas are friendly and welcoming. I love Jiggy's Winter Orange Iced Latte, gently sweetened and spiced with Maple/Orange.
google avatar

Bec L.

Yelp
I LOVE this coffee shop! My favorite coffee shop in the area, and never fails to disappoint. They are quite creative with their drinks and rotate their specials seasonally. My favorite is the matcha rose latte which they have in the spring/summer but I wish they had year round! It's the perfect balance of sweet, flowery, and creamy. Every time I walk in, the staff is so friendly and kind. Even when it's busy, they greet me with a smile. They've also ever never made a mistake on my drink order so I can tell they have great attention to detail. The indoor seating is limited, probably room for about 6 people. I've never had an issue when I wanted to grab a seat, though, there's always one available. When it's nice out, they also set up a few chairs and tables outside. They do have wifi!
google avatar

Jennifer N.

Yelp
Jiggly Coffee serves up a beautifully crafted cortado. The crème on top was layer nicely on the espresso and the texture of the cortado was velvety. It wasn't my most favorite tasting cortado, but I think that has more to do with my preference of coffee. They are dog friendly which is definitely a plus. The baristas were friendly and served up my cortado quickly. The shop is crisp and clean. The only bad part is that there weren't a lot of places to sit. I would definitely recommend this shop to family and friends.
google avatar

Jiordan C.

Yelp
I don't even know where to begin. Jiggy is my dog's favorite coffee shop by far--and ours too! The drinks are outstanding, for one thing. Every seasonal beverage, every artful latte is made with such care and tastes like the best version of itself... Plus, we love everyone who works there (including the wonderful owners). And don't forget the beans! Every blend we've gotten for coffee and espresso has been excellent. The vegan and non-vegan pastries and other treats are beautifully curated too (e.g., the scones, that amazing maple cookie sandwich situation, the donuts...). I could go on, but really: Jiggy is a very special place. And they've started doing cool pop-ups with local makers/artists! Make Jiggy a regular stop if you're based in the neighborhood or go out of your way to come here. It's always worth it.

Steve H.

Yelp
Ordered a hot latte. Not very good, too much milk and not enough coffee. Service was not very enthusiastic. No cap on the cup; cup just placed on the counter with no acknowledgement it was for me. Waited for others who came in after me to be served first. Not a regular, now definitely won't be.

Braidyn B.

Yelp
The workers were really nice and the coffee was amazing! I got a iced vanilla oak milk latte
google avatar

Olga K.

Yelp
I only came here once recently for a quick coffee and the service was great. So was the coffee. I was shown a great collection of vegan pastries. So now I just have to come back. Bonus for simple and clean interior. My two favorite things. Besides coffee, of course.
google avatar

Alana A.

Yelp
My go to place to get coffee when I'm in Philly. I'm obsessed with their iced rose latte!! It's a very cute and cozy shop, the owners are very nice.
google avatar

Bekke S.

Yelp
I'm on a 5 star kick here, but they're all so deserved! Not only was the service here impeccable and educational but it was friendly and quick. Clean and small cafe, a short bar area to sit or stand and a table or two on the opposite side of the room. I think there was some outside seating on one side, as well. The menu is a little limited but that's how you know what they do make is stellar. I purchased an absolutely delicious iced chai with oat milk (please skip that starbucks down the street, I beg of you!) and my friend got an oat milk latte. "It was good, it was nice. It was a tad sweet for me, but I hate sweet, so don't write that, I'm biased." Do with the info what you will, but I absolutely recommend this spot. Let's keep it local, people!
google avatar

Emily W.

Yelp
Disarmingly charming little spot with unique and delicious drink combos. Great snacks and friendly personal service. More than meets the eye from the outside. I'm so glad I listened to my friends to go try their chai!
google avatar

Jay W.

Yelp
What a wonderful find, exactly what I needed this morning in a local neighborhood coffee spot. My AirBnB was surprisingly coffee-free so I was forced to walk the streets looking for an early morning cup. I'm going to thank my hosts for the experience! I'm so glad I found Jiggy, and their bagels (with generous cream cheese) were the perfect start to my day. Everything about Jiggy is clean, lean, perfect--these folks know what they're doing. There's not a single aspect I'd change: prices, flavor, care, atmosphere, quality. This is a five-star experience starting at 7am.
google avatar

Haley T.

Yelp
Small gem in old city. Trying to get here I definitely overlooked it on the corner as it's facade is very unassuming. Service was lovely and the barista was very kind and attentive. They have some fun different flavors like black sesame and their lavender brown sugar latte. I got their seasonal special the winter orange cappuccino which was delicious however I felt like the orange was too subtle and overpowered by the espresso. Definitely a pricier drink but a lovely place to stop by. They have a bathroom and small area to work but wouldn't necessarily recommend it for more than a stop in.
google avatar

Raman D.

Yelp
Best matcha drink I've ever had! I got the lavender brown sugar Matcha latte with oat milk, and it was absolutely delicious! The matcha had a smooth consistency and didn't clump or settle at the bottom like many other matcha drinks tend to do. The baristas working there were very nice and coffee shop itself had a wonderful ambiance that added to the overall experience.
google avatar

Jessleen C.

Yelp
Usually when I get a matcha latte, there's a bunch of matcha powder on the bottom of the drink and the matcha flavor usually fades after a while but this matcha latte was so consistent and well blended - there was no matcha powder on the bottom at all. You can really tell how much effort they put into their drinks! The owners/employees are the nicest people ever and tried to make conversation. Also not to mention the cute logo, which is what drew me to go to this place in the first place :) Such a great experience - can't wait to visit again! [food insta: @strwbrrryboba for more food :)]

Yelp
Nice little boutique coffee shop. Friendly and nice staff. Vegan/gluten free baked good options. I got the vegan & gluten free donut by high fidelity bakery and an iced mocha latte w/ almond milk. Pretty good combo.

Yelp
Very convenient if you're emerging from the PATCO stop just two blocks away on 9th / 10th & Locust and heading south. This tiny little coffee shop is a dream - adorable, friendly staff, big bright windows. You never feel rushed if you need to decompress for a bit before heading into work. I am a simple coffee drinker. I like my coffee to look and taste like coffee Haagen Daz ice cream. That's easy to replicate here! They are closed on Mondays, just in case you need that extra caffeine boost before heading into work, but don't worry, they are open the other work days.

Matt C.

Yelp
Jiggy coffee is a place for friends. The staff are so friendly, and the coffee is bangin. The shop has nice big windows for hanging out. Love u Jiggy
google avatar

Eli L.

Yelp
Been searching for a great coffee shop since moving to Philly from the Bay and this place is definitely it! I tried their Lavender Iced Latte and it was delicious. The store is clean, simple and no frills - they let their coffee do all the speaking! Service was friendly and fast. Can't wait to be back again. Only downside is that it's not closer to my apartment :(
google avatar

Madeline H.

Yelp
Jiggy has one of my favorite lattes in the city. Definitely a go-to, consistently good + kind staff. Check it out!
google avatar

Jordan T.

Yelp
Best coffee in Philly! Highly recommend. It's located in a high traffic area with no parking so unless you live close by it can be difficult to get to but worth it if you can.
google avatar

Nancy E.

Yelp
Amazing coffee! We got the Lavender Brown sugar matcha iced and Lavender Brown sugar latte with oatmilk hot bother were perfect! Not extremely sweet which is what we prefer. Prices are fair and service is great!

Jenny M.

Yelp
I love jiggy coffee with my whole heart! Best coffee shop in Philadelphia by a landslide.
