The 26 Best Restaurants In Mumbai

"Looking for a Parsi wedding feast without the actual wedding? All roads lead to Jimmy Boy in Fort. The sunlit cafe is full of paintings of Parsi prophets looking down on a crystal chandelier and bentwood chairs, while a cooler near the cashier glows with neon pastries and Pallonji’s sodas. It’s a quirky, charming spot, but the point of a trip to Jimmy Boy is always the ₹1,150 (or ₹850 vegetarian) lagan nu bhonu. The heaving feast is a parade of three main courses: either the sweet-sour saas ni machhi or patra ni machhi, tangy salli marghi or lacy farcha, and the pulao with dhansak dal, including free rotli, achaar, wafers, and dessert—and, yes, you’ll want to grow an extra stomach for all of it. The a la carte menu is expansive, so here's the move: skip the more generic North Indian dishes, focus on the bhonu plates for a lighter meal, and grab a window seat for fantastic people watching. The 38 Best Restaurants in Mumbai, India - Eater

"The collection of dishes in the lagan nu bhonu feast at Jimmy Boy is a fantastic way to get acquainted with the best of Parsi wedding classics. Look for patrani machhi — a whole fish covered with a thick coconut and green chile chutney, steamed in banana leaves — as well as chicken farcha (Parsi-style fried chicken), mutton pulao, and dhansak (lentils stewed with lamb). The vegetarian variation includes a cashew vegetable curry. Make sure you try a bottle of the bright, almost suspiciously pink Pallonji’s soda." - Sumedh Natu

Had a lovely experience dining at Jimmy Boy, a charming Parsi restaurant tucked away in the heart of Mumbai. I visited with my family, and from the moment we stepped in, the cozy, old-world vibe made us feel right at home. The menu offers an authentic taste of traditional Parsi cuisine, and every dish we tried was rich in flavor and perfectly cooked. We loved the chicken Farcha, mutton kheema and of course, their signature dhansak—comforting, hearty, and full of nostalgic taste. Apart from the main dishes, their bakery section is a delightful surprise. We picked up some fresh mawa cakes, plum cake, and pastries, all of which were soft, flavorful, and made with great attention to detail. Tiramisu is must try as dessert !! Don’t miss that… The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure we had a pleasant experience. Overall, Jimmy Boy is a must-visit for anyone who wants to explore Mumbai’s Parsi culinary heritage. Whether you're a first-timer or a regular, it never disappoints. Perfect for a relaxed family meal with a side of tradition!

My first visit for a quick evening snacks while coming back from work. They don't have regular South Indian snacks but mostly non veg snacks. I took a veg Paalak Paneer patties which was good. Also took a couple of pastries as take away. Since it was evening time I got car parking near by.

If you’re craving an authentic taste of Parsi cuisine in Mumbai, Jimmy Boy at Kala Ghoda is a must-visit. Nestled in the heart of South Mumbai’s heritage district, this charming old-school eatery offers a nostalgic vibe with its colonial-style decor and homely ambiance. The star of the menu is undoubtedly the Berry Pulao and Chicken Cutlet — both packed with bold flavors and cooked to perfection. Their Dhansak is rich, comforting, and just the right balance of spice and sweetness. Don’t miss out on the Lagan nu Custard for dessert; it’s the perfect sweet ending to a hearty meal. Service is warm and unpretentious, and the staff is happy to guide you if you’re unfamiliar with Parsi dishes. While the place can get a bit crowded during lunch hours, the food more than makes up for the wait. Overall, Jimmy Boy is a delightful dive into Mumbai’s Parsi culinary heritage—perfect for both first-timers and seasoned food lovers.

**Jimmy Boy – A Charming Slice of Bombay’s Irani Café Culture 🧡🍽️** If you're in **Churchgate** and looking for a spot that blends **nostalgia, Irani cuisine, and vintage charm**, **Jimmy Boy** is worth a visit. This café offers a **beautiful, old-world vibe** that’s not only inviting but also incredibly **photogenic** — think vintage furniture, retro decor, and the kind of ambience that transports you to a slower, simpler Bombay. The **Irani-style menu** is the main attraction here. We tried the classic **Pallonji sharbat**, which was refreshing and perfect for Mumbai’s weather. Their **bread-based items are fresh and flavorful**, true to the legacy of Parsi-Irani food. Whether it's brun maska, berry pulao, or salli boti, the flavors stay authentic. That said, the **pricing is on the higher side** for what is essentially simple comfort food. It might not be your everyday café, but for a **once-in-a-while indulgence**, especially when you’re craving something traditional with a side of history, **Jimmy Boy delivers**. 📸 **Bonus**: Great spot for food photography and vintage-themed social media posts! ✅ Irani flavors ✅ Fresh breads ✅ Beautiful ambience - Slightly overpriced Overall, a **charming, heritage-rich café** that’s perfect for a leisurely meal and a trip down memory lane.

Old Mumbai is home to numerous F&B establishments steeped in history. This restaurant goes back 100 years and is a must-visit for anyone who loves Irani/Parsi food in India. I had the Kid Ghost (a.k.a. Kid Gosht) which is a mutton stew which, according to the restaurant, is a favourite at Parsi weddings. The meat was flavourful and tender, and I was able to mop up all of the delicious cashew gravy with chapati. After the meal I had the Mawa cake, which is an iconic Parsi cake made with evaporated milk, along with Irani Chai. I've had the Mawa cake several times and this was probably the best I've had so far. It was also my first time tasting Jeera Masala Soda. I have stopped drinking soft drinks, but I will drink this again because Indian spices in a soda is such a unique experience.

Delicious food and good service. Parking could be an issue. The berry pulao was soo good! Pattice was good. Cakes are soo good. Dhanshak was good too. Cheese toast was nice. Icecream soda can't go wrong!

We ordered Butter Chicken and Tandoori Roti, along with Cold Coffee and the Balanji Raspberry Soda. The Butter Chicken was excellent in terms of taste, but the quantity was very less—definitely not enough for two people. The Raspberry Soda tasted like cough syrup and honestly, it’s not worth Rs. 70. When we arrived, the waiter refused to let us sit at a larger table, saying it was reserved for bigger groups, even though the restaurant wasn’t crowded. After requesting him, he finally allowed us to sit there. This just shows how money-minded the place is. They don't seem to value their customers much. Once we sat down, they rushed us to place the order almost immediately. We barely had time to look through the menu properly. It’s clear that they’re more concerned about quick customer turnover to boost their profits rather than providing a good dining experience. This is definitely not what you'd expect from such an old and well-known restaurant in Mumbai.

One of the iconic but underrated restaurant in Mumbai serving Parsi dishes with the old school charm. We tried Chicken dhansak ,patra nu macchi ,which was excellent and made from fresh fish.In dessert we tried the signature caramel custard followed by Walnut cake
