The 25 Best Korean Restaurants In Los Angeles - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Most people come to this traditional Korean spot on 3rd Street for one thing: gukbap, a clear pork-broth soup that arrives mostly unseasoned but with a big spread of banchan like kimchi, salted shrimp, and thinly sliced pork belly that you add in to kick it up. At lunchtime, older couples and people who work nearby fill the tables in this little strip mall spot because it’s a tasty, affordable option in the neighborhood. If you’re here with a group, however, we suggest adding on an order of char-grilled spicy pork ribs and the jokbal platter with sweet mustard sauce." - sylvio martins, brant cox, garrett snyder, cathy park

The Best Korean Restaurants in Los Angeles | Eater LA

"With two locations in Koreatown, Jinsol Gukbap has made a name for itself for its rich, flavorful Busan-style gukbap, or pork soup, which is made with a broth that is simmered for 24 hours. Though the gukbap is undoubtedly the star here, other favorites include sliced pork belly served with a special soy-based sauce, kimchi stew with pork belly, and marinated spicy pork ribs. For those looking to venture beyond pork, one can’t go wrong with the spicy braised chicken with vegetables or the cold noodles." - Matthew Kang

Food is good, but there was a waiter who has terrible attitude. After I finished settling the bill, this guy rushed out and questioned me in Chinese why I gave such a low tip, saying it was insulting and had a very bad tone. We never even asked for extra napkins through whole eating, and the person who served us wasn’t him!! At that time, my friends had already gone out and he consisted so I chose not to talk back and add money for tips. We have visit this restaurant many times and today is the WORST experience EVER. If you want to hire someone new, at least they need to know how to speak English. Even if you want to ask for more tips for your non existent service, be more POLITE instead of just yelling at me.

We went around 11pm on a Saturday night, party of 3. We were sat down no long wait since it's a bit late at night which is great for grabbing a bite after a party or car meet. The food was very delicious, has the blood sausage, steamed pork belly, and pork soup. I was very impressed by all the side dishes they served! Every single side dish was delicious by itself & added with rice made it great! Food was so good I forgot to take a photo of the before! Very clean, well lit inside, decorations & design of the restaurant was nice as well. Overall good vibes! Definitely will come back.

Google
We wanted soup and Junsol came up in the search results. We were not disappointed. The tendon pieces in the sollungtang was so soft & tender. Banchan was on point. Kimchi was fresh, which is the way I like it. I would definitely repeat.

Google
To be in la and get this level of korean food is phenomenal! Their pork bone soup is so soothing with the fresh leeks and scallions! Leek pancake and pork ribs are also good! Everything is great!

Google
The galbi was ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL. The Messi of the team for sure. The pork belly was also great and although I am not a fan of soups in general, the pork belly came with this broth that truly was magnificent, especially after adding some pork belly and salt to it. Justin went above and beyond in his service, and was a stellar server. He should get a raise or get promoted to manager (or both?!?!). This was my 2nd time at this restaurant and I don't think it will be the last. 100% recommended.

Google
A terrrific restaurant with 9's across all boards. The only reason it isn't a 10 was because we could catch the attention of any servers to get the bill. But the shop was busy, so maybe that's a good thing. All the 반찬 dishes reminded me of the places I went to in Korea. They tasted comforting, familiar, and homemade. I went with a friend who is living in Mexico and hasn't had official Korean food in over a year. By the time we were finished with our soups at 진솔, I could tell she was okay with only having checked out this one place in her entire 5 days in LA. Anyway, food 10/10. Interior is gorgeous too, 10/10. The only thing that didn't align with the bar already set so high by the former two things is the inattentiveness of the servers, but that's a small fix. My friend was particularly thrilled about the 다대기 paste, but who can blame her? That stuff is delicious

Google
8th street is a disgrace to the chain. After ownership has changed the service has gone down the drain and the soup taste like water. I recommend going to 3rd street. Owner acts like she doesn't want to be there and just goes to the back

Google
I ordered soon Dae soup and hotpot bulgogi but bulgogi was too chewy so change to haejang soup. Their soup and radish kimchi and pickled pepper was so good.

Yelp
This is the 3rd jinsol Gukbap place I went to and it didn't disappoint. First time was in buena park, second time was in ktown (on 3rd st), and this one was my 3rd time. Surprising, they all tasted very similar! I tried their pork soup. And it came with full of meat, two different types of kimchi, bowl of rice, and noodles. It was very filling without needing to eat another meal for the day. I would definitely come back. They all had ample parking lots, the prices of the soup were all reasonable. And they only took less than 10mins for the food to come out
google avatar

Darlene Y.

Yelp
I really wish Yelp allowed half-star ratings--3 feels too low. I've tried Jinsol both for takeaway and dining in. When I got takeaway, I wasn't too impressed. But several friends swore by Jinsol as the best spot for pork rice soup, so I figured I'd give it another try and eat at the restaurant. Dining in definitely makes a difference. You get a wider variety of banchan, and the pork rice soup tastes noticeably better fresh at the table. That said, having recently visited Busan, Jinsol doesn't quite reach that level. Still, I plan to return and try other dishes. The decor is traditional, and the service is hands-off in the typical Korean style--servers leave you alone unless you call them over, which I actually appreciate. ENJOY! PS: They have a parking lot, and it's $3. Entrace is on Harvard.

Yelp
Really don't know where the good reviews are coming from. Maybe I caught them on a bad day but in all honesty the service was very mediocre. As the server was walking away, I asked to also order a beer and the server signed like I was bothering them. I am a fellow server so this didn't make any sense at all like wouldn't you want them to order more ? Haha They also brought out a large sharing soup with no bowls so it just sat there until we waived a server down to bring some. No refills on water or even asking if we wanted one. I'm not sure if it's a culture thing I'm trying to be opened minded but I work as a server too so it just doesn't add up. What I do compliment is that the flavor of everything was honestly really good. The pancake was amazing and bulgolgi was great. The bulgogi was 30 dollars and the proportion was okay. Cold noodle was delicious too although they forgot to bring it out until we finished all our other food. I'd recommend other Korean spots other than this one. Food is good though

Yelp
Vibe- 4/5 At first glance, it looks quite nice. However, a number of details are subtly off. Fake trees don't connect with the ceiling. The AC unit isn't fully mounted to the wall. The TVs are not mounted at the same height. Love what they did with the ceiling, but the half-assed nature of the rest of it brings the vibe down. Facilities - 2/5 This place is way too big to have just one throne in the men's bathroom. Had to go to the bathroom elsewhere because it was too full, even with half the restaurant empty. No bueno. Service - 3/5 The servers did their jobs just fine but sounded like they wanted to be absolutely anywhere else. Banchan - 3/5 What I had tasted decent enough, but the variety wasn't really there. Two dishes of unseasoned shredded chopped buchu is an odd choice. BBQ Spicy Pork - 2/5 A good size serving for the price, but needlessly sweet. The side of bone broth soup had a noticeable aftertaste of rancid pork fat. Got full without getting sick, but I was not left with any desire to return.

Yelp
A good option for authentic homestyle Korean food in Ktown!   I've been to the Jinsol Gukbap on 3rd and this one is just as great as that one. I came on an early Monday night, so there weren't to many patrons dining in yet. There is valet parking in the back for $3.   Walking-in, I loved the traditional Korean décor. The staff were very attentive and brought me and my friend to our seats right away. The gave us menus which were simple, digestible, and easy to understand for English speakers. There were also monitors that accurately displayed the dishes served at the restaurant.   My friend and I ordered the pork soup with rice and noodles. The soup came out almost immediately upon ordering. The soup was nice and warm since they were served in traditional bowls that retain the heat. For anybody trying this for the first time, the soup comes unseasoned, so you'll need to add the salt and pepper found at each table to your soup separately. It was delicious, filling, and healthy. I also loved the variety of banchan served as well. My favorite was the fresh, spicy raw squid.   Overall, this is a solid option that is family-friendly. Would recommend to anyone looking for traditional and healthy Korean food.

Yelp
We came here for lunch and it felt so spacious and clean. It wasn't busy at all and we sat down right away. It could easily host larger groups if needed. We ordered their cold noodles and a combo for the pork belly + beef short ribs. They provide sides so you can wrap your pork belly. They also gave us a bowl of rice and some soup! Everything was so delicious and I felt like it was enough food for my partner and I. Our favorite this time was the beef short rib, followed by the pork belly. The service here was quick and they also have a parking lot. They did have a valet umbrella there, but that might be for dinner/weekends.

Yelp
One of the most comforting meals I've had in a while. The star of the show here is really the gukbap. The pork bone soup is simmered for hours, resulting in a milky, rich pork broth filled with collagen. The soup comes largely unseasoned and is encouraged that you add the salt, pepper, and shrimp paste to taste. We got a bit carried away and ordered a lot of dishes from the menu, which isn't very long but the portions are generous! Some other highlights were the leek pancake, LA galbi, and sliced pork belly (ask for extra ssamjang/garlic and thank me later). I kept seeing the marinated spicy pork ribs online but I just thought they were OK to be honest. The taste/texture was most akin to a spicy pork bulgogi. The banchan is all incredibly fresh and refillable if you ask nicely! The servers here are so attentive and kind too. The pork gukbap and incredible service are what truly made the experience great. My parents really enjoyed it here. Note, they have valet parking available in the back lot.
google avatar

Yelp
Small pork belly - meat was tender but portion much smaller than expected based on the menu photo--definitely single-serving. the accompanying bone broth was hearty but was quite bland, I adjusted it to my taste with about 3 scoops of salt. their ssamjang was SO good, adding a rich, savory kick to the meat. Shop is very generous with their banchans - all paired SO well with the main dish. Came for lunch at 11:30AM and was seated right away with no wait. There is a private parking lot that charges $2 valet (mandatory) for lunch.

Yelp
Jinsol is one of my favorite places to eat at because they're always consistent with their service and have great food quality. It was my first time coming to this location and parking was free in the lot during Wednesday lunch. Usually I order the gogi guksu (jeju noodles) but this location didn't have it so I decided to try the ox knee soup. The tendons and the meat were so tender and there was also so much of it as well. The soup was really rich and it was perfect with a scoop of the salted shrimp brine.
google avatar

Yelp
Another excellent meal at Jinsol after returning to LA! My husband and I got a small pork order, ox knee soup, and the chive pancake to share with each other. The small pork order actually came with a soup so we had more than enough to eat. They were very generous with the tendon in the ox soup FYI The service was excellent, as always. The staff is quick to notice and respond, which is appreciated. We like this location as it's closer and going right before the dinner rush means there's room in the parking lot!

Yelp
**As of two weeks ago, they no longer have soy marinated crab on the menu. The pork gukbap here is freaking delicious and warms me up! For right under $16, the price is super reasonable. For those that aren't as familiar with gukbap, make sure you mix and stir the soup because there is a red paste at the center bottom of the soup that gives the soup a kick and additional flavor. Toss in the side of chives they provide and then season with salt, pepper, and salty shrimp to taste. My husband that isn't even a soup guy thinks this soup has a great depth of flavor. I literally can come here and just order gukbap and be happy. The leek pancake side is also great and very affordable. Ask for it to be extra crispy! My husband ordered the naengmyun and galbi combo. Both dishes were good with galbi coming with only 4 pieces but for the price and size of naengmyun provided, that makes sense it's a very small portion. The banchan is limited but all very good and somewhat unique. I love their variety of kimchis from jalapeño kimchi, white kimchi, radish kimchi and regular kimchi. Goes perfectly with the gukbap. The service was really great here. They were quick with taking orders, bringing food, giving water refills, and on top of that was very sweet to my little baby (smiling and joking with him). The valet parking here is $2 at lunchtime and $3 at dinner time. If you are looking for good quality, casual Korean food- check this place out! One of my favorite Korean restaurants in LA. They have two locations in LA and one location in Buena Park.

Yelp
I never get to go out to ktown and try new food after having kids! We went out for a GNO and came here for dinner. LOVED IT! Staff were friendly and accommodating even though they were so busy. Food was so goood, us 7 girls almost finished it (so close!) ha! I can't remember what we ordered but I have pictures attached to my review. If you love Bossom, you will love this place too!
google avatar

Yelp
Man what a place. Nothing like good comfort Korean food. You cannot go wrong with a gukbap or in this case a sundae mixed gukap. For 21 dollars a bowl I believe they give you, your money's worth of protien. The soup itself was a warmth to the soul. Very rich and flavorful. But I have to say the MVP of the night was the spicy Jokbal. A nice spicy fatty gelatinous piece of protien cooked in onions and and greens, my goodness some of the best eating!!! I was very impressed that all the staff here could speak Korean pretty well even the non-korean staff. Talk about serving to the demographic here. I come from NorCal this is the type of place where all the Koreans in Norcal would go to for some late night eats or if honestly they probably need a hangover cure. But this place is pretty awesome! Seriously try the spicy jokbal!
google avatar

Ann C.

Yelp
Stopped by for a late lunch so it wasn't very crowded. The ladies are very nice and friendly. I would recommend getting the leek pancake, crispy on the edges, soft and chewy towards the middle. Tried the small portion of boiled pork belly and didn't know it came with soup on the side! The boiled pork belly stayed juice and soft. It was a very satisfying lunch and I would come back again!
google avatar

ED A.

Yelp
My go-to for some good gukbap! This is their second location! It opens an hour early, it is more spacious, and has some good food! Perfect for cold mornings in LA. This location has valet parking for lunch and dinner.
google avatar

Maruko X.

Yelp
Ambiance: this is Jinsol's second location in Korean town, private lot cost $3 for valet parking, spacious and clean inside, good for large group hangout Service: very friendly, refilled water adequately, and patient with questions Food: simple menu for comfort food Banchan - **** although limited kinds, and they serve marinated raw crabs Naengchae Jokbal - ***** Braised pigs' feet with special mustard sauce, and cold jellyfish salad, boneless thin slices, tender and chewy, very tasty with sauce, if you like this type of food, they serve one of the best in town, highly recommend Price: generous portions and affordable prices, expect $25 per person for a very fulfilling meal
google avatar

Cece L.

Yelp
Ordered #15 naengchae jokbal and #16 kimchi Jjim to share...portions are huge and worth the price. Family of four ended up having so much leftovers and having to take the rest home after stuffing our faces. Food was delicious! Loved the side dishes that were provided. Staff are attentive. Small parking lot in the back is valet.
google avatar

Ivy K.

Yelp
Good restaurant. "Gukbap" is this dish that literally translates to "soup-rice". It's a comforting bone broth dish that is right for colder weather like today. Soothes the soul. They also give soy sauce marinated crab as one of the banchan (side dishes). Valet parking is $2 for lunch and $3 for dinner. Don't forget that you'd add $1-3 tip on your way out.
google avatar

Yelp
I came here for the first time this week and I loved it although I prefer their other location. The bulgogi at their other location is far better but the food here is still great. I came with a large group so we got lots of food. We ordered the pigs feet, kimchi stew, Korean ribs, and bulgogi. The bulgogi was good not great and the Korean ribs were not as well cooked as I prefer but BOY was the kimchi stew GREAT! I highly highly recommend the kimchi stew and the pigs feet if your into that. We ate past being full because of how good the food was. Also a side note I LOVE the rice here. I have a problem with restaurants that over or under cook their rice which is a bummer because I find it great rice essential to eat with the food. Will be coming back!!
google avatar

Jenny T.

Yelp
- cold noodles, kalbi, and seokeo gukbap (pork soup with pork slices, tongues, ears) are solid in flavor, comforting, and a bang for your buck with all the unlimited banchan refills + large portions. would keep in mind that the set of 6 banchans only applies for the gukbap and not the cold noodles / kalbi combo. the cold combo does come with cabbage + kimchi though. broth for both hot and cold soups was delish. - valet parking $2 for lunch, $3 for dinner. they have a lot with about 10-12ish spots that wasn't busy on a wednesday - service is friendly and food is served quick! - very spacious and well lit inside. - really love the scorched rice candy they give out at the end of the meal - must be a recent thing b/c they didn't do this in july 2024 when i visited for the cold noodles.
google avatar

Mai H.

Yelp
The interior is nice. The service is fast and friendly. The food... The food! I dream about their gukbap.
google avatar

Kelly C.

Yelp
Food: 4.5 stars Service: 5 stars Ambiance: 4.5 stars We just had the noodles and they weren't so bad. I think the spicy cold noodle was better than the cold noodle. They didn't have the combo or the chicken menu they have at 3rd. It was less crowded than 3rd when we came for lunch on Friday.

Yelp
Gukbap (translation: rice and soup) is a staple in Korean households, versatile enough to be served both breakfast, lunch, and dinner. So, it's no surprise that LA's prolific Korean restaurant scene does gukbap well. We ordered a few dishes to share, namely, the naengmyun, pork ribs, pork bone soup, galbi, and puchu jeon. One thing I'll say is that Jinsol bats a thousand in price. I mean for a chive pancake to be sub-7 dollars in this economy is pretty ludicrous. I'm usually a stickler for pork bone soup and often avoid ordering it since it can be overly gamey and porky. But, since pork bone soup is Jinsol's bread and butter, we ordered it and were shell-shocked. One spoonful is the epitome of comfort. The banchan is also good, but the crab is a bit fishy. I really can't complain much about free raw marinated crab though. The other dishes are good but nothing to write home about considering the LA vicinity's multitude of good Korean spots. All this to say that I'm coming again for the soup and the puchu jeon; that's a fact.
google avatar

Min L.

Yelp
The pork soup with rice ($15.95) is a must-order. The pork soup with blood sausage & rice ($17.95) was okay. The beef knee cartilage soup with rice ($17.95) came out lukewarm. Overall, the meal was satisfactory. The group was a bit sleepy afterwards from the MSG? The complimentary banchan side dishes were pretty good. The customer service was typical for a Korean restaurant. Mandatory valet parking at this Koreatown location.
google avatar

Jane K.

Yelp
My family and I arrived to this restaurant at 11:25 PM on Christmas Eve after a long day of travel. We were warned that we had to be done eating and out by midnight. Not a problem for us. We ordered Dogani (cartilage) soup, stone bibimbap, and kalbi tang. I would say that the bibimbap and kalbi tang are average (3 stars) but the Dogani soup was the absolute BOMB. The cartilage was so incredibly soft, the way cartilage should be. I don't know if it always comes this way but I find I can only get this when I cook it (and oxtail soup) on my own for hours and hours. The broth was so milky and robust, you could tell it had been boiling for a long time. The white kimchi with grated ginger was refreshing and I loved the fresh chives with the soy dipping sauce. I think they might have served that to us in error but I loved it and will be incorporating that into my meals at home as a side dish. Some of the banchans were super spicy: not a problem for us but others might want to take caution. My teenage and college kids are asking if we can go back, despite the fact that we have a very long list of restaurants to visit. That's quite a compliment to this restaurant. It's your typical Korean restaurant: nothing fancy on the inside with stacks of drinks piled on the floor. Well done on the soup.
google avatar

Carolyn N.

Yelp
Omg, they have marinated crab as one of their free banchans! How have I not found this place sooner? Other than the marinated crab, they serve pretty standard Korea home food like bibimbap and beef soups, which were at least up to standard with all the rest of the Korean Restaurant that I've been to, including the hype places like sunongdan. Portion sizes were great and service was fast They are a little busy on the weekends though so do expect a short wait. But they have a large interior and can accommodate larger party sizes very quickly too. Much better wait than than the "hype" places. The interior is nice and bright. Clean and comfortable. It is K town so parking is always expected to be horrible. They do have a valet lot in the back though that is only $2 for lunch and $3 for dinner. Small price to pay for great food and banchan crab!
google avatar

Jessica S.

Yelp
Quite literally the best gukbap place I've ever been to. I'm from Northern Virginia but I venture out here every time we come to LA. It's a must for us for so many reasons! The side dishes are phenomenal and they come with either soy or spicy marinated raw crabs. This is a delicacy that usually only served as a full order. I'm not too much of a fan of pork but their pork soup is to die for. So creamy with such depth in flavors. The meats are also sliced so thinly that they melt in your mouth with each bite. My boyfriend got the galbitang and that was amazing too. We both loved our orders so we switched halfway so that we could eat both LOL Valet parking for lunch is only $2. Bring cash but they will accept zelle as well.
google avatar

Li Z.

Yelp
pretty solid institution! Nice interior decor, clean, pretty fast service, although it can be a bit of wait. Got the pork belly and kimchi soup, which is very hearty, you get a large portion that is probably enough to feed three people for $45 dollars. Would come back here if in the mood for soup! Want to try their pork soup next time which they are known for
google avatar

Justin T.

Yelp
One of the best places that opens late in Ktown. My friend and I often come to this place as the Pork soup with rice is not only flavorful but also inexpensive. The great selection of banchan, especially the raw crab, was a great addition to any meal. We've also ordered the blood sausage, which comes in a huge portion size, enough to share between 4 friends. It's a great place that opens late, provides great food, and offers the classic Korean selection of alcohol. What more can anyone ask for?
google avatar

Julie N.

Yelp
I am seriously so grateful they opened a second Jinsol Gukbap location. I used to go to the 3rd street one and it was so packed, we'd have to wait so long to be seated and we'd have to order while we were waiting (pretty stressful experience). This spot also has valet parking, but I usually find street parking pretty easily. I also have not had to wait for a table here since the place is so big. And I really like how the interior looks. I always order the #1 pork soup with rice... I mean, you just have to. Then you can add the some salt (on the table) to the soup to your tasting. The pork belly slices and leek pancake are equally as tasty. I also love their side dishes, so many varieties (plus marinated crab is one of them). Definitely recommend this spot if you're looking for some yummy quick comfort food!
google avatar

Clarice T.

Yelp
Their Banchan are all delirious! And of course, their cold noodles! Was craving for a nice bowl of nangmyeon and I remember Jinsol Gukbap but we ended coming to this branch instead, either way, they're both delicious!!! We ordered their noodle and meet combo and another offer of kalbi for the kids. We all enjoyed our food. Can't go wrong with either locations. The staff were quick and accommodating! Our kids were so impressed with our server! He did not look Korean but it sounded like he was fluent in Korean! Parking is easy if u do valet; there's street parking but u may have to drive around a bit and play some hunger games version of who gets to park first especially in downtown. Regardless, we will definitely be coming back for more!

Young Kyung K.

Yelp
My husband and I used to go almost every Wednesday to the 3rd street location when we lived in Koreatown. Without a doubt, we both had our go to menu and that decision has never hindered. My husband would order the gukbap and I would get the cold noodles and often times we would order the leek pancakes to share. We were visiting LA for a wedding and we both knew we HAD to stop by Jinsol HAHA we saw that there was a new location and we were staying around the area so decided to come by. The food hit the spot, no doubt about it. The place is spacious and clean. The food is simple, their sides are simple but delicious. I may be wrong but 8th street offers marinated raw crab as one of the side dishes and it's BOMB!

Oscar G.

Yelp
Food was great. However, noticed that I got a charge that was $20.00 more than I had signed off on the receipt. The staff changed a 69 to an 89, adding an additional $20.00 on top of the tip I had already left them. I very clearly wrote 6, and it could not have been mistaken for an 8. I was going to just leave it, but after seeing all of the other reviews about their attitude towards tips, it left a bad taste in my mouth. Terrible that the owner is aware about the aggression of staff in regards to tips (evident from Google reviews) and hasn't done anything to change it. This is literally theft.

Yelp
I had the worst bulgogi in a hot pot I've ever eaten. I have no idea why they put so many spicy peppers in it. The meat was as tough as chewing gum--absolutely terrible.

Yelp
No complaints, just good food. There's been a trend of "back to basics" korean food in ktown, and I'm here for it. Despite never really having had this dish, it tasted altogether new and super familiar at the same time. Comforting and tasty to the last drop. Service was good, fast, and friendly. Ambiance was beautiful, albeit a little hastily thrown together.

Yelp
came here on Saturday and we decided to try the restaurant because of the reviews and we love pork soup. Their service is fast and the staff was able to change my order last minute because we ordered the wrong ones. There were a lot of options in the menu. I love how they have Ganjang Gejang (raw marinated crab) as part of their banchan. Everything was good until after leaving. So we did a vallet parking as it's pretty common in koreatown, and when we finished eating, we couldn't find a vallet guy. we waited for a while, but he didn't come. So we decided to grab a coffee nearby and just take it for to go then we came back to the restaurant and they already put down the valet sign. Then we had to go inside to obtain our car key and they charge us an extra $10 because we left the property. we tried to explain our situation but they said no and they told us that we should wait although we said we have waited. It was a pretty disappointing experience despite their good food. I wish they have been clear from the beginning that we could not leave the property even though the valet guy was not around.

Yelp
My friends came here pretty often over the summer to enjoy some authentic Korean gukbap. The service is nothing special (which is fine for this kind of establishment). Parking here makes me stressed.

Yelp
Korean comfort food always hits, especially when it's from Jinsol Gukbap We love how they give soy marinated crabs as a side, so much so that we always end up ordering another side of it lol. And you can't come here without ordering their famous pork soup rice! It's warm, savory, and super comforting!

Yelp
The pork soup is so rich, warm, and comforting. It is definitely worth the hype! Perfect for a rainy day or when you just need something to perk you up. While we were eating, there were monitors showing how the broth is made by boiling the pork and stock for over 24 hours. You can also tell how authentic the flavor is by all the local Korean elders eating there. What I liked: - Comforting and rich pork soup - Lots of side dishes. I especially liked their kimchi! - They give a side of glass noodles to put in your soup. - Fast service. Maybe because it's their #1 ordered item and what they're known for, there was virtually no wait between ordering and getting our pork soup. They have a small parking lot with valet parking. The entrance to the restaurant is from the parking lot side.

Yelp
Hugeee fan the level of comfort from eating this is 1000000000. The pork soup is made from 24h of preparation and the result? Absolutely delicious. The spread of side dishes was impressive- even had raw crab and I even really liked their kimchi here. Usually the sausage at some places could be a hit or miss but my friend and I thought it was done just right, everything was. The boiled pork is an absolute get. 10/10 great service and parking in back (valet though prices depend on lunch or dinner). Will definitely come back

Yelp
Omg my man is still finishing his meal right now, but I had to write a review. This place reminds me of the food I would eat with my grandparents when I was younger. I ordered the gukbap & sooyook & they both SMACKED. All 6 side dishes were delicious and the sour kimchi that comes with the sooyook was BOMB. That sour kimchi just tastes like delicious probiotics, so yummy. Please come here on a rainy day or when you're missing your Korean relatives. Amazing and fast service!

Yelp
Delicious food, huge portions and great service. The spicy cold noodles were the best I've ever had! We went a little bit later in the evening, definitely be prepared to wait a little bit as they looked busy. Great experience and I'll be back the next time I'm in Los Angeles!

Yelp
Another Jinsol Gukbap location in Koreatown is open now on 8th Street, which is convenient for some of us. I hear that it is under new management, and they are expanding, having a location in Orange County too.   Food is good, but I feel that it definitely is not the same as how I had it before. Some of the dishes I had before are now presented differently. There are some changes in the side dishes too. Kimchi and kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi) taste different and are not that good. I feel that a restaurant specializing in gukbap must have really good kimchi, but it was lacking. Also, this location did not have the 'set' menu (small sooyook and gukbap) that the original location had, so that was disappointing. I'm not sure if the other location still has that menu after the change in management.   There were three servers during lunch time on the weekend, but it was a bit hard to get their attention. To add to that, they are not the friendliest people. They are so dry and dull, with no smile on their faces. I don't know why I felt bad asking for more water and side dishes when I shouldn't.   Parking is valet ($2 for lunch and $3 for dinner), or you can find street parking, but it's definitely not easy to find one nearby.   Although Jinsol Gukbap has always been one of my favorite restaurants in Koreatown, I have to admit I am a little disappointed with the recent changes in food and service.

Yelp
Jinsol Gukbap has opened up their second location and goodness is it an upgrade. The 8th Street spot is huge and so bright, full of sunlight and cheer. I'm happy to report the food is still the delicious same comfort food. Dig into their Busan style Dwaeji Gukbap and it's legit like being embraced in a warm hug of flavor. It just feels nice and is still perfectly done at the location with smoothest & milkiest broth. Be sure to add some salt, pepper, little shrimpies and dump all that rice in for optimal dining deliciousness. I like adding the extra pork slices that melt in my mouth because, more meat just means more goodness in my belly. Did I mention they braise their pork broth for 24 hours? Yep, they sure do and it's great. Their banchans are great too, they're known for their marinated crab banchan. My friends from Chi always are shocked and delighted by that little dish. Service is minimal but gets the job done, and is to be expected at old school spots. They have valet parking but it's hella annoying. Just a few dollars but they're parking lot is one way, very hard to get out of, and the valet doesn't even pull your car up for you. After you pay you are just expected to reverse your car out of the parking spot and then reverse thru the whole parking lot until the street. What's the point of valet? lol Definitely going to stick to meter parking in the future. Overall, so happy with this second location and I haven't seen difference in the high quality guks. I won't be parking in valet again if I can avoid it but for sure will be a regular.

Yelp
I have never seen so much kimchi in a kimchi stew in real life. I have seen it in movies. Lol it was a great experience to see the pull of the kimchi. The server helped cut the kimchi into smaller pieces. The stew was very flavorful. So much was going on lol quite a lot of food. There was pork belly, tofu, rice cakes, and etc. The menu mentioned intestines, but I didn't see any. The bone broth was good. I like that it came with the pho rice noodle. I am not a fan of the round rice noodles. The ban chan came with marinated crabs!!! Not many places would offer it. This definitely brings this place to another level for Korean restaurants. Service was great. Valet parking $3

Yelp
You want Korean comfort food? This is a place to go! Great friendly staff, I love the interior of the restaurant. The bone soup is so comforting to the soul.

Yelp
Yukdaejang 4/5 - I thought it was good but nothing special. It tastes similar to frozen ones you can get at the market too. Serving size is pretty big but it's mostly liquid. Chive pancake 4/5 - thought this was okay but again nothing special with it. Overpriced for what it is
