WOW! It was my first time in Boston and I am blown away by how delicious the gluten free pizza was! I have been gf for four years and if they did not label this pizza, I would have probably stopped eating it because it tasted too delicious to be gf. Not only was the pizza AMAZING, but Susie at the counter was the absolute sweetest!! We had such a nice conversation and she was incredibly helpful. I absolutely can’t wait to come back to Boston in the future and eat more pizza! 10/10!

First time and it won't be the last for gluten-free pizzas. Tried pepperoni and their plain. Ordered eggplant, but they were out when I arrived to pick up. Will have to try next time!🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕

I placed an order they sent me confirmation time to pick up I go there… they are on vacation. No answering service to contact anyone and now I’m out a ton of money. Maybe let customers who visit your site know. Update over a week later still no refund

Take-out only spot with interesting tray pizzas and good baked wings. On my recent visit on a quiet weekday evening, I got the Cacio E Pepe wings and the Pepperoni Tray pizza. Starting with the Cacio E Pepe wings, their robust dry-rubbed flavor profile won me over. Not the most tender wings I've had, but the seasoning combined with a subtle baked crust undertone was a pleasant departure from the norm. The Crispy Pepperoni Cup Tray Pizza, however, had its highs and lows. At first glance and bite, it felt reminiscent of a cheesy bread topped with pepperoni and a hint of tomato sauce. The crunchy edges were delightful, but the thickness of the dough made for a heftier experience than I would've preferred. It teetered between the styles of a classic pizza and a Chicago deep dish, albeit minus the lavish sauce of the latter. The honey drizzle, for someone with a palate tolerant of sweetness in savory dishes, was an interesting touch. Yet, when weighing up the overall experience with its price point, it settled in the realm of satisfactory. The prices are slightly steeper than other local pizza spots, but whether it warrants the premium is debatable. Nevertheless, Johnny Pomodoro offers a curious culinary experience for those keen to venture beyond traditional pizza shop fare. While some aspects justify the price, others might leave you contemplating value. Worth a try, but set expectations accordingly.

Service was pretty standard, nothing special and nothing bad about it. The food was pretty good, the pepperoni slice had a slight hint of sweetness to it and there was a good amount of pepperoni's too. On the other hand, the Uncle Johnny special was not so good. The chicken on top was old and didn't taste very pleasant, and the pizza dough itself wasn't cooked all the way through, there was a layer of uncooked dough underneath the cheese.

Shared this pie with someone that isn't GF and they had no clue. The crust was thick and crispy, but not heavy. As Portnoy would say a Detroit style has to be like an offensive lineman, look intimidating but shockingly light on its feet and this pizza is just that. Toppings were pretty loaded and the pulled chicken is a much appreciated touch over the typical chunks you get. It easily allowed every bite to have every topping. The edges were insane, with the crispy cheese acting as a glass shattering and delicious border to the pie. I will 100% be back to try their other pies cause damn this was next level

I placed an order through Uber Eats and arrived during the listed pickup time, only to find the door locked while a staff member stood inside pretending not to notice me. After several minutes of knocking and being blatantly ignored, she finally opened the door only to inform me she was “closed,” with zero apology and zero effort to resolve the situation. She couldn’t be bothered to call someone, offer help, or even update the business hours so customers aren’t deceived. Her attitude was unbelievably rude and dismissive. Being left standing outside by someone who clearly sees you and simply chooses not to acknowledge you is unprofessional and disrespectful. If this is the type of customer service they tolerate, it speaks volumes. The food might be good, but after dealing with a staff member who acts like customers are an inconvenience, I have no intention of returning. No business should treat people this way.

Bad bad pizza .. ordered Grumpy Gardener and the pizza maker took it seriously and made super grump pizza... No marinara sauce , no pesto sauce. Oil soaked box and only cheese and cheese visible..callled them.. made me hold 15.minutes and then never came online.. Avoid avoid

I have enjoyed my pizza from Johnny Pomodoro. I've had the gluten free pizzas three times and they have been consistently tasty. The forager is my favorite. The pesto and balsamic glaze are perfectly matched for your senses.

I live around the corner from Johnnie P's. Excitement was high when it opened two years ago. Quality and consistency have continued to slide since. They charge a premium price, yet Dominoes cares more about the food they make. It's sad to see.

Can only rave about the Crispy Pepperoni Cup tray pizza. It has a thick and chewy crust. Not many places in Boston have the crispy edge pepperoni cups like the one here. Very cheesy and added touch of honey. I personally didn't mind the honey but I wonder if it can be put on the side. Will definitely get this pizza again

Order the Grumpy Garderner and the cook was probably taking it seriously to make such a bad pizza... No marinara , no pesto and box full of oil from loads and loads of cheese... Cant even pull a cut pf slic put with all cheese sticking to box... Called and no one cared to get back on the phone Avoid.

I am visiting from LA, have had pizza all over the US, including NYC. This is hands down the best pizza I have ever had in my entire life without a doubt! Didn't go in to the restaurant, had it delivered so I can't comment about service, but without a doubt the best I have ever had!

The first time I ordered was great, but they're SO stingy with the sauce on the brickhouse. It was barely covering most slices and was honestly super disappointing. I'd be happy to give them another try if they can properly sauce a $26 pizza next time.

If you have celiac, definitely avoid this place. My son was glutened and got sick after eating their pizza.

The pizza is pretty good but I did not enjoy the chicken salad sub. For $16 it was very small and very light on the chicken. All I tasted was mustard and arugula. I recommend trying the pizza, but not this sub.

The worst! I live in Charlestown ordered three items. Online gave me a delivery time I waited 50 minutes from the pickup time. And the product was terrible. This place was my go to...NO MORE. The kid at the counter was complaining how busy they are...like I care just get me my food on time as advertised

I never leave reviews but just had a few slices from JPs and they were soooo delicious. Thick crust so a bit different than your typical slice but it was delicious. Met the owner - super nice guy. And the menu had a ton of reasonably priced options for lunch.

I got steak and cheese sub , Mozzarella sticks and chocolate chip cookies there the only things that were good were the Mozzarella sticks and cookies the sub was fair could have been better

This is the best thick crust pizza I have had in many years. I had it delivered and it stood up fine. Highly recommend it.

This was the best gluten free crust I've ever had. Cronchy and thiccc. Food came out quick and the rest of it was good too. Went out of my way for this and it did not disappoint.

Just ordered a sunday special from these guys (8 wings) 1 large pizza for 35 dollars...wings were old and not hot. The pepperoni pizza had no sauce on it for some strange reason. I have ordered from here once before and it was excellent which is why im giving 2 stars as opposed to 1. Wont be coming back.

Some things are good, some things not so good. JP if I have one tip of advice that would make so many of your dishes (pizza, gnocchi, etc) better it would be to lay off the salt in your red sauce!! Seriously, because everything else is actually really good! But the salt is overbearing and takes away from the other ingredients.

Great pizza. A little pricey but can easily make multiple meals out of a large to make it worth the splurge.

JP cheesesteak sub was amazing. Fresh bread and loaded with meat. Worth the price 100%.

3rd visit, first ordered the Italian sub, good, fresh, well done, meats as advertised. Second, tried the mushroom pizza, good, maybe a B rating, a little soft, not tremendous flavor, there are better options across the river in the north end. Last, large set of subs ordered for 4 of us. Italian was so drenched in oil it couldn't be eaten, half of the "specialty" meats missing. French fries in photo, but "the don't serve those." Two pork sub also not edible, meat seem old. Faro salad lacked Faro! Complete failure. No consistency hear. Another sandwich shop nearby, too bad they don't stay open later to provide an edible option.

I don't see this place getting a lot of reviews but I have had such a positive experience with them I thought they should get more love. Their pizza is fantastic - definitely some of the best square pies in Boston - with some really great toppings. The sandwiches and garlic knots are also top notch. The pricing is on the higher side (not as much with the pizza but for the sandwiches) but the quality is clear in the bread and ingredients.

If you haven't tried this place yet, you have to. We've ordered from them multiple times and the food gets better each time. Meatballs, chicken cutlet, homemade pastas, delicious pizza - it's all incredibly good. We always get a chocolate chip cookie as well, which can be split between two people and worth the treat.
