3rd time here. Reliably the best Takeaway sushi place in the city. Note- you don't have to pick up the premade packages because they take orders and make it fresh for about 30 min wait time. Fish was always on point, the rice ratio and quality are excellent, the packaging is clean and beautiful. Pictured here are the salmon chirasi box, maki flight, and tuna flight. A little pricey for takeaway sushi but if you have Amex, there's usually a dining credit every few months

I received a gift card for Joii Box for my birthday. I love sushi, so I couldn’t wait to try these rare gems of the sea! The fish was fresh and artfully presented! Highly recommended!

Ordered twice from here and had a pleasant experience both times with fresh and delicious sushi for lunch in NYC. Take out packaging is neat and clean.

Got Maki flight and Hamachi flight to go boxes for $48. The fish was fresh but the rice was hard (probably because of long time being refrigerated), which I find unacceptable give the price point of this sushi.

We ordered the Joji box through Uber Eats, and it was delicious. The only issue was that the Uni sushi looked messy when it arrived. I think the delivery might have caused it, so no big deal. Thanks for the tasty food! I'll order again despite this small hiccup.

Was looking to beat the heat and was hungry. Quick search brought this place up and the price is so affordable for the quality they provide which means excellent value. We got our food and took it to Bryant Park. The fish kept very well and they packed it so nicely. Their chirashi was well presented and the sushi rice was a good temperature and nicely seasoned. I would definitely return to eat here again as well as the restaurant!

The rush of running to catch a train at Grand Central hits way different when you can pause to pick up a cheeky little Joji Box to unwrap once you sit down on your way out of the city. QUALITY FISH + immaculate minimalism of packaging = Blowwing sweet chef kisses all the way home to Zentown. Got the cheapest set, maki flight at $20 and it was worth every penny.

Quality omakase box to-go! Perfect for those who are looking for fast and top quality sushi but don’t have the time for a sit down meal. Conveniently located in Grand Central. The presentation is simple yet elegant There are two high top tables without chairs. Wished they put out some because the location is quiet and peaceful, and would be a plus to enjoy Joji boxes right there (if you won’t work around there). Will return.

I came here to grab a to-go box before getting on the train. Service was fine. Boxes were premade and sitting in a fridge. I think it was $23 for 4 maki pieces and 4 nigiri. It was too cold to eat right away but after letting it sit for a bit, it was great. Rice seasoning and texture were just right for me and fish was tasty. I would come back.

Things went downhill First time ordered delivery was pretty good, so i recommended to others. Ordered second time for co workers. disappointment. Fish was ok, just not amazing. Sushi rice was too cold and felt like they are in super market fridge for a while. I felt like i ordered from a fake/ grocery store sushi to go spot. Feel bad telling people in my office this is a Michelin star to-go spot. I think they took influencers and Michelin star for granted, and gave up on quality after a while. Price is decent, packaging is cute. That's the only good thing left. Do not recommend for real sushi, no longer Michelin graded spot. Side note: very tricky spot if you pick up in person, they are not located on the ground floor if you used Google map, but located right at subway entrance level.

Honestly, not bad! I got the Salmon Ikura box and there was a generous amount of fish and ikura. However, in the 3 times I've gone, service was pretty poor overall everytime - the cashier/staff seemed very unbothered and the first time, it took !!25!! Minutes to put rice and fish into the box. Overall good food - just order in advance for pick up.

Food was good, service was good, they want you to order the chirashi and omakase ahead of time. So unless you plan ahead, you're in for a 20 minute wait with no place to sit.

This sushi takeout spot is a bit hidden. Location: underneath the staircase of 1 Vanderbilt on Vanderbilt and 41 St. If you don't know where that is, look for the Summit retail store. If you are coming from Grand Central concourse, look for Firefly Flowers and go through the double doors About the restaurant: sushi takeout place by Chef Daniel Boulud and the team. The options are omakase, chirashi, combo, flights (4 Nigiri and 4 maki roll pieces), and a la carte. My order: Salmon Flights - 4 piece salmon nigiri and 1/2 salmon avocado maki roll. The fish was fresh. The price is a bit pricey for the amount of food you received, also it's located at Grand Central and they make it fresh (I waited for my order to be made). The presentation is a high quality box. From reading the other reviews, you might want to order and wait so you can get your order right as there are busy times. Enjoy!

To say this place is tucked away is an understatement. I was misdirected by a Grand Central Terminal employee lol. I'm not even gonna try to offer directions on how to find it. There's no sign of food in the storefront, so it's not like you'll notice it unless you see the sign of their name. Idk where the sushi is made and I'm not asking questions. It feels like a top secret situation. Anyway, I got the Joji Box 2. Definitely beautiful presentation. The sushi was good quality. However, I wasn't blown away. I'm glad I finally tried it but don't see myself returning. Not because it's bad, just because there's better. Pro tips: - Best to order ahead on their website. The wait time was 30-35 mins around lunchtime - Plan ahead on where you will eat this. There are two bar top tables outside their store, but no stool. This is also the situation in the general seating area of the dining concourse in GCT. There are only a handful of tables with chairs. Principally, I refused to pay $50+ for lunch and eat it standing up. It's honestly quite asinine that they wouldn't keep a few stools outside their own store. It's time for Grand Central to put the chairs back too! - When the weather gets nice, pick up and walk over to Bryant to enjoy would be my advice.

I love Joji box! It's a bit on the pricier side, but absolutely worth it. I often order it for lunch while at work, always placing my order in advance through the Toast app. My go-to is the omakase box--it's incredibly fresh! Plus, if you work in the building, you get a 10% discount! :)

Joji Box is the takeout version of Joji, the Michelin star restaurant and Chef Daniel Boulud. It's located on the bottom floor of One Vanderbilt, really hard to miss so be on the look out for the building and signage. I was a bit hesitant as this box was already ready when I arrived and ordered. The worker told me it was made within the hour. I'm happy to say I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and freshness. The Maki Flight was absolutely perfect! These 3 rolls are honestly what I would normally order and it makes sense why they're the best-sellers. I couldn't tell which one I liked the most. All three were honestly phenomenal. I also love the attention to detail with the packaging. From the tiny bottle of soy sauce and tray to the napkin and chopsticks tucked on the side to the box itself. Everything was absolutely practical and also luxurious! I would absolutely come back for a quick lunch if I'm in the area and highly recommend you give it a try too!

I entered 1 Vanderbilt building through the wrong entrance the security staff was not friendly but told me I needed to go in from the other side. I ordered ahead and by the time I found the pick up area, the food was ready. The sushi/nigiri were packed in these beautiful boxes. The fish were high quality very delicious sushi and nigiri, I would get them again!!

We pre-ordered online for a night in, and what a disaster! They took way too many orders than they could handle, and as a result, our order was hours behind the pickup time. After an hour of waiting, we were lucky to get someone else's abandoned order, which obviously did not contain the boxes we had originally wanted. The food itself was solid but spectacular, and certainly not worth the hassle.

I've been getting Joji Box delivered lately but I have to say I'm over it. One delivery never came..delivery guy fail Delivery time has shortened which is good. The thing is the quality of the sushi. I'm used to eating at the sushi bar and getting my food freshly prepared. Clearly this sushi is made and then sit for 45 minutes during handling. And I am a ten minute walk from Jōji. Moving forward I'll just order from sushi Ryusei or see if Yasuda will make a box for me.

Ordered the omakase box, which had a wait time of about an hour. Arrived at the time of pick up and it was not ready, had to wait another 10 minutes. The nigiri were okay but honestly I don't think the fish or even the rice was very fresh, even though the boxes are made to order. The rice was a bit too hard and dry, which is why I say it's not fresh. The tuna pieces in particular were too fishy. The portion is good for lunch. The presentation is nice, but I'd like something that can be recycled - this box most obviously is not just cardboard or paper, and cannot be recycled.

Small counter in Grand Central station! Almost missed it, it's at 1 Vanderbilt down the stairs right at the end of the flight. I came 30 min before closing on a week night, so there were limited options since they were closing. I got a salmon flight, which I was happy with instead of the tuna flight and paid $25. Delightful packaging and delicious box! The person working there was friendly and I didn't have to wait for my order, the boxes were ready to go. They have a lot of different drinks. There are a few high tables to stand, but I took my box to go. Would be great to try more next time!

Good price for the boxes here. Tried various box types. Fish was OK - had a stronger "sea" taste with the takeout, and it took nearly 30 minutes to get the food (stood around for 20 minutes yet placed the order way in advance). Portion value to price is good. Not the freshest I've had, but that could be because of take out. Will try the restaurant next time.

Really fast delivery service, quality fish, beautiful presentation. One of the better high end omakase deliveries in Midtown. Highly recommend if you're craving sushi but don't want to trek outside for a sit down omakase meal.

What a cute place! My friend and I happened upon it as we were going up the observatory! We were hesitant to try it but I'm glad I went all in! I wasn't expecting the fish to be so fresh but it was awesome! The whole concept of omakase bentos was weird for me but I definitely understand it! The worker was also so nice to us with sharing information and the restaurant! Even though the restaurant itself was closed, he gave my friend and I a tour to see the inside! I would most definitely recommend stopping by for an omakase bento or to dine in!!

My friends and I were on our way to the One Vanderbilt experience and randomly found this spot. They specialize in omakase boxes and everything looked so colorful and appetizing. We shared the Omakase Box which consisted of 10 pieces of chef's selection nigiri plus sashimi. Every piece was fresh and delicious. The manager was also nice enough to give us a tour of the back in which you have to make reservations for. It's a very small space with counter seating that you sit at while the chef makes the sushi. I recommend this place if you want to sit in or do takeout!

A takeout place relate to the Michelin starred restaurant Joji. Ordered from Joji Box on Monday and liked it so much I went again yesterday! The quality of the sushi is great, and the prices aren't too bad for what you're getting, because it comes with a good amount of food. I got the Joji Box 1 on Monday and the Salmon Ikura Chirashi Box on Thursday -- both were great, but I preferred the Joji Box 1. I would definitely recommend trying this place if you're in the area!

The presentation and freshness is 5/5 for sure. The box it comes in is clearly custom to Joji, and it's so sturdy I always feel bad for throwing it away. The quality of the ginger and fish is superb, and the little soy sauce bottle is too addorable. During lunch, they have boxes ready to go, so it's a very quick grab and go lunch. If you'd like a substitution, they make it fresh so it could take 15-20 minutes, perhaps call and order ahead. I only took a star off because there's nothing specifically special about Joji. It's high quality sushi, but I've had better sushi for not that much more expensive. With that sad, will I be back? 110%. Also FYI there is no seating at the restaurant, but the food is perfect for taking back into the office or to Bryant Park!

Boring, flavourless and the wait was unacceptable. No spice to the spicy tuna, just very bland all around. We ordered 6 boxes and waited over 30 minutes. How hard is it, they only have like 4 different kinds of fish. Best thing about it is the cute box it comes in which probably taste better than the sushi.

Amazing! Super fresh, and package beautifully. Honestly one of the freshest sushi places I have tried in the city. The service was quick and personal. And they sell beverages to go which was so nice to see. Absolutely delicious and will definitely be ordering again soon.

Located in Grand Central Station is Jōji Box which specializes in omakase and sushi to go and they do it right!! We ordered the omakase box, salmon and ikura, and salmon nigiri boxes and they were all melt in your mouth delicious!! The fish was fresh, rice was cooked perfectly, and flavor was chef's kiss! Would recommend.

Ok they stepped up their packaging game and the ponzu-like soya sauce is back. I won't lie - the fish is solid, the salmon gorgeously marbled. Is back on my lunch rotation.

For grab and go sushi the quality was extremely good, but also very overpriced. The local is literally a little room where you order your sushi and they hand you a premade box. I didn't love that I couldn't see the person making the sushi and that aspect turned me off. Also the box smelled a lot like fish which was not ideal for a work lunch. Another aspect which I didn't love was that one of the boxes we ordered was out of stock and we were left to wait in the room for 15 min. Overall it was yum, but not something to do everyday.

Good tasty sushi for $20 - May be the quantity is a bit less for the price but the quantity and quality of fish is good. I enjoyed my jojibox! The packaging was very nice and I saved the little bottle of soy sauce. Service was quick and it was a Grubhub order so don't know about the ambience. Would order again! Would have been 5 star if there were a couple of pieces more for $20!

Love this sushi box concept as it's been all the rave lately! It's convenient, beautiful, and efficient for on the go New Yorkers. A friend and I stopped by and had to try a box. We loved the variety of fish and of nigiri/sushi you get. The kind cashier even treated us to an extra mini box so 10/10 for service! The packaging for both boxes was stunning and comes with utensils and soy sauce inside. Definitely a treat and was delicious, but not gonna be the best quality of sushi ever. Still so yummy and glad we tried!

This is a small storefront that gets inventory from the actual Joji restaurant upstairs. We came just at opening time for lunch so just had to wait about 5 minutes as they had to get more delivered to the store. Cashier was very nice. The food was pretty good and fresh, my cousin and I were happy with the omakase box. The fish tasted fresh and my cousin loved the uni which she said was melt in your mouth good. I wish they had a key to the sushi as I'm a newcomer to sushi and I don't like surprises Good option for sushi.

I can't say how the food was because I never ordered. I found it and they told me it was a 90min wait. Ok. It's New York and I got my steps in. I came back and it was empty. I was the only patron. Looked at the menu and specials... nope. Tip your waiter and out the door.

I took out some sushi yesterday and I got a really bad stomachache even since I ate their sushi. They tasted fine but it must not have been a good quality fish. I eat sushi from whole food every week and I never had any problem in the past so my stomach is not sensitive at all. I can't recommend this place!

I tried the cheapest takeout box and the most expensive takeout box... Neither was impressive... Both were extremely cold... The rice in both was underwhelming; for this price-point where's the beautiful red vinegars? Because of this, I have no interest in ever dining at the omakase counter.

First time tried this joji box...order thru online and pick up in the store, really convenient...the maki flight and salmon ikura chirashi were really good..will buy again..

JoJi Box is an extension of the fine dining omakase restaurant, JoJi when one can't budget in an omakase price rate. The menu is minimum but focused, with the options of four sushi boxes, a selection of a la charge nigiri, basic maki rolls and a mix of Japanese and American beverages. Each box is neatly packed and freshly made. The fish literally melts in mouth and rice always served in room temperature. Glad soy sauce is in reduced sodium only since one should taste the fish flavor and not be masked by pseudo ingredients. Surely this is be a great options for local inhabitants, returned office workers, and tourists. One could always bring the meal to the GCS dining food court to eat.

A wonderful place for those who want to try fresh and delicious sushi. The menu offers a wide variety of options, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I recommend this place to all sushi lovers.

Despite understanding the Valentine's Day rush, my patience waned after an hour's delay and multiple unanswered calls. When contact was finally made, assurances of an imminent delivery proved hollow, leaving my partner and I stranded in a sea of hunger and disappointment for three excruciating hours. The stark contrast between the company's prompt email response and their telephonic silence was bewildering. Their reliance on an elusive third-party delivery service, without offering a direct line of communication, only added to the frustration. A simple heads-up or a gesture of transparency could have salvaged the evening, allowing us to adapt our plans on this day of affection. Alas, the offered refund, though necessary, missed the heart of the issue--the irreplaceable loss of a special moment. This ordeal has taught me a valuable lesson: when it comes to celebrating love, reliance on JojiBox is a gamble I wish I hadn't taken. Their inability to deliver not just food, but reliability and clear communication, was a stark reminder that some experiences are best crafted personally, far away from the uncertainties of third-party dependencies.

Finally a true omakase take out place in midtown. Amazing work chef George and the team. I can't wait to have my Tuesday lunches from them every week!
