Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe in Disneyland is a solid 5-star pick, thanks to its prime Disney location. No need for fancy words - it's all about the magic in the air. While they're a bit shy on veggie mains, the snacks are where it's at.
Let's talk macarons. The Mickey-shaped raspberry one is huge and bursting with flavor. Trust me; it's up there with the best and I've savored macarons at acclaimed spots like Ginger Elizabeth in Sacramento. The Poison Apple-Shaped macaron? Real apple chunks inside, and they figured if the macaron ain't broke, don't fix it. Basically the same, but shaped like a poison apple.
Now, the hot food, it's a hit or miss. Grilled cheese: half the time it's melty heaven, the other half, not so much. Tomato soup, though, always piping hot. It's not the best, but hey, you're at Disneyland. Plus, you get to dine in the coolest outdoor spots.
In a nutshell, Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe delivers a Disney-tastic experience. Limited veggie choices, but the vibes, macarons, and outdoor seating make it a top-notch pick. Fluctuating hot food? Well, that's part of the adventure
Tips for first timers:
1. Plan your hunger and cravings so you can take advantage of Disney's Online Ordering.
2. Always get the Mickey-shaped raspberry macaron. It looks great in photos in front of the castle.
3. Seating can be limited, especially on more popular Disney dates. If more than 1 in your party, have the other search for a table for the party.
4. Breakfast ends at 10:30. They do have a breakfast croissant with bacon and if before 10:30, they can remove the bacon to make this the other vegetarian main dish.
5. Don't forget your Magic Key pass
Giving this a 5-star review even though the grilled cheese is hit and miss. I'm a victim of recency bias because the grilled cheese today was stretchy when you bite into it. Overall, it's still a grilled cheese sandwich and the buttery bread can sway any opinions.
