Jonquil's Cafe & Bakery - Review - Back Bay - Boston - The Infatuation

"Jonquil’s is a Newbury Street cafe that makes artistically-shaped desserts that everyone around will be taking pictures of (e.g. tiramisu shaped like a giant coffee bean). It has a decent menu of healthy-ish bowls and toasts, a bright, airy space that feels like an art gallery, and sidewalk tables. If you’re shopping on Newbury, it’s a perfectly acceptable place to stop for lunch, but don’t expect it to be a particularly memorable meal." - Dan Secatore

Jonquils Bakery & Cafe Opens in Boston’s Back Bay - Eater Boston

"Jonquils Cafe & Bakery (125 Newbury St., Boston) has opened its doors in Back Bay, and while it serves an array of cafe fare like sandwiches and espresso, desserts headline the operation. Pastry chefs Dinara Kasko and Dimtriy Shurygin make pristine, geometric desserts with shiny and textured glazes that reveal further surprises upon cutting. Shapes resemble apples, cherries, and even coffee beans, and the treats feature layers of mousse, cake, jelly, and more. Kasko, who initially intended to become an architect, is known for using a 3D printer to produce the silicone molds used to shape her desserts. In addition to the eye-catching desserts, the food menu at Jonquils consists of grab-and-go items, more familiar pastries like croissants and danishes, and three tartine options with toppings like beet hummus, marinated mushrooms, and whipped avocado. Starting Monday, June 17, Jonquils will also serve a selection of sandwiches and quiches, and steamed bowls of oats, veggies, or grains. Coffees at Jonquils are made using a Kees van der Westen multiple espresso boiler machine or a pour over system, with beans from local roaster Gracenote. There are also loose leaf teas, hot chocolates, and juices. Jonquils operates 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week." - Dana Hatic

Google
This place has really inventive pastries that are both tasty and visually beautiful looking. It completely elevates the experience of eating cake into something special. The Geometric Apple is a stand out but the Raspberry Pistachio was also delicious. Nothing was overly sweet. The cafe is clean with a decent amount of seating. Service was good, with some friendly staff members helping us out.

Google
I visited this place twice in one week. Their pistachio dessert is out of this world, and the geometric apple-shaped sweet is a must-try. Enjoying it with a cup of matcha tea was the perfect complement. I’ll definitely be going back soon

Google
The desserts were picture perfect and had a great flavor. There was no wait for the food and the staff were nice. The seating was limited but the decorations were nice. Would highly recommend coming to try the desserts and drinks!

Google
We ordered the geometrical apple and the raspberry pistachio desserts, with black and green tea. They brewed both teas and it tasted so good and fresh. The desserts were out of this world. We specially liked the contrast between the smoothness of the mousse and the crunchiness of the cake layers, or the sweetness of the white chocolate layer of the raspberry pistachio with the sourness of the raspberry filling. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was so chill, with a nice selection of music.

Google
I can’t believe it has high review point. Cakes looks so beautiful but I didn’t take it. I had ice coffee. Staff gave me from container not from espresso machine. I Can’t believe it’s 4.5usd . Staffs are not kind at all when i ask it. And i see internet line. But he said no internet. What a bad service! Cafe should give free internet service. Sitting outside was ok with umbrella. Indoor is small but cute.

Google
The desserts here were fantastic. The staff were super nice. The bakery was super clean and very pretty. I will definitely be going back again.

Google
Came for the geometric apple, it was a light sponge cake with a tiny bit of chocolate cake & apple compote in the middle. It wasn’t bad, but I wouldn’t come back for it. Did not like the lavender latte at all, can’t recommend a coffee here. The total for both was over $20

Simone Reid

Google
Tried the apple dessert. It’s more than double the price of a dessert you’d get in France but doesn’t taste even half as good. It’s pretty to look at but that’s about it. The taste was so mediocre. The mousse had hardly any flavor and I didn’t even realize it was supposed to be chocolate sponge inside, because it was the driest chocolate sponge I’ve ever had. We sat outside since the inside was filled with smoke and the smell of something burning from the kitchen.

Yelp
The desserts here are super special! We got the pumpkin and chai ones, and I loved the chai one especially. The mousse was super fragrant and light. Each dessert had a unique combination of compotes, sauces, mouses, cakes, etc. and every one felt very distinct in character. They do look a bit silly and overpriced at first but they really do deliver in taste too. Each dessert is $13, which sis definitely pricey but I'm ok splurging sometimes on novelty. There was a little bit of a line inside for the desserts. There was a good amount of tables and seats inside to enjoy the desserts and chat. I'd love to try the apple one!

Yelp
I'm a sucker for cute pastries and this place got me. I got the geometric apple and I thought it tasted great as well. It was expensive but I thought it was worth it to try. I don't know if I would pay for it again. The coffee was pretty good too. The workers were nice and there is limited seating inside.

Yelp
Jonquils Cafe has been on my Boston list for the longest time. Their innovative cake designs made by 3D printed molds look 100% insta-worthy and are sure to captivate every girl. Honest thoughts: The cakes were indeed beautifully crafted, but $13 was overpriced. The cake quality didn't meet the steep price. The cafe was self-service and some furnitures were quite worn out. From their ig, I saw the price tag was ~$9 last year. It was aggressive to raise $4 within a year.....It would be more reasonable to charge at or under $10. *Autumn Leaf $13 * This seasonal special was my favorite. Spiced sponge and pecan crunch were wrapped inside the subtly sweet maple mousse, with a hint of banana flavor coming through midway. The spiced cake tasted like fall. *Geometric Apple $13 The geometric apple is their bestseller but I found the flavors didn't match well with one another. The outer layer was cheesecake mousse, while the center was filled with apple compote, caramel, and chocolate cake. The cake was quite sweet, and the sourness from apple put me off. The chocolate crunch inside was too hard to eat.

Yelp
Jonquils Cafe is a charming pastry shop and café celebrated for its artistic pastries that resemble 3D-printed creations, making it a standout destination for dessert enthusiasts. The café features a spacious and inviting interior with ample seating, making it a pleasant spot to relax. The friendly staff are knowledgeable about the menu and happy to explain the ingredients and flavors of each offering. The pastries are the highlight, striking a perfect balance between visual artistry and flavor. They are light yet flavorful, with delicious fillings that complement the overall design. While the portions are modest, the exceptional quality justifies the price, offering a delightful treat for visitors. Whether you're looking for a unique dessert experience or a cozy spot to unwind, Jonquils Cafe is a wonderful place to explore.

Yelp
Saw this place all over TikTok and was excited to try one of the cool looking desserts. It was kind of busy but I was able to order quickly. I got the geometric apple and my friend got the latte. They were both okay. The inside of the apple had a bunch of layers inside: Cheesecake mousse, apple compote, caramel, Dark chocolate crunch, chocolate sponge. I'm glad I finally tried it. I might go back earlier in the day to be able to try the other desserts but it wasn't bad.

Yelp
Finding Jonquils was a bit challenging as there's no sign outside like other stores, so we initially walked right past it. Once inside, the café has a sleek, modern design reminiscent of contemporary home interiors. However, the blue leather couch by the bay window was visibly worn--peeling and marked to the point that it really needs replacing. There's additional seating downstairs, though I didn't check it out. Service, however, was friendly and accommodating. For both our drinks, y husband asked the barista to add extra syrup which turned out to be a good call. Matcha Rose Latte ($7) with Almond Milk ($1): He noted that the flavors were distinct initially, but after stirring, it looked like strawberry chocolate milk. Unfortunately, it didn't taste much like a matcha rose latte--the almond milk overpowered the other flavors. The matcha seemed low-quality, as it was dark green with a coarse texture. The rose syrup, which has a dark red color, didn't quite have that true rose taste. Lavender Latte ($6.65) with Oat Milk ($1): The lavender layer was baby blue rather than the expected light purple, which made me double-check if I had the right drink. The lavender flavor was distinct but balanced nicely with the oat milk. This was remarkably better than the matcha rose latte.

Yelp
Very tasty desserts - just a bit on the pricier side but if you want to treat yourself to a dessert experience stop at Jonquils. I was out shopping and did realize this bakery was on the same street I was shopping on. I got the Apple Dessert and it had the sweetest, smooth layers covered with a very light cream. Everything was cooked perfectly. Service was quick and friendly.

Yelp
I'm failing to understand the hype about this place. We visited from out of town based on reviews and were disappointed with our entire experience. Jonquils Cafe seems more about the "aesthetic" than the coffee or pastries. Speaking of pastries, I don't know if I would call this place a bakery. Sure, they had some desserts, but the lack of variety was shocking. We paid $13 for a cute Instagram-able apple that looked better than it tasted. We spent over $20 for two coffees and one dessert and left hungry. The coffee was nothing to write home about. As a matter of fact, the iced coffee was pretty bad. They also only have one "regular" size and don't offer a large. Lastly, the place is cute inside, but you can't enjoy it because of its limited indoor space. We got lucky and were able to snatch a table outside. It was also dirty -- the tables were not clean, and the bathroom was filthy. I wouldn't go back here when I'm back in Boston.

Yelp
The geometric mousse cakes were so pretty. Convenient location to grab something while shopping. The chai had good flavor. Multiple floors for sitting.

Yelp
Such a cute, trendy cafe located on Newbury Street. They are mostly known for their desserts, which are made fresh daily in-house. Their desserts rotate regularly and I always get to try a few new ones. During peak hours, it can get very crowded here, and it may be difficult to find seating. I've tried their drinks but they are a bit expensive and were alright. However, they have the cutest pastries that you cannot miss out on. They come out super photogenic, and the craziest part is that they taste as good as they look! I've tried a good amount of their desserts by now, and I have to say that Rose is my all-time favorite. I also really love Love and Green Apple. Geometric Apple is a popular one made for those chocolate lovers! One is usually not enough for me because they are too delicious. Sometimes they will sell out of certain items if it's busy, so it's better to go earlier in the day. We tried taking the dessert to-go before, but it didn't taste the same. Don't forget to get a stamp card if you're a repeat customer!

Yelp
Amazing beautiful desserts that take several hours to create! They're around $13 each which is pricy but I think worth it for the level of detail and number of layers (4) there are. The inside of the cafe is very artsy and they also have coffee and tea. I definitely recommend to bring someone you want to impress the cakes are super light and left you wanting more. Service was fast.

Yelp
Ordered: Iced Rose Latte (~$7) Geometric Apple (~$13): cheesecake mousse, apple compote, caramel, dark chocolate crunch, and chocolate sponge cake Aya's take: I've been wanting to try Jonquils Cafe & Bakery since they first opened a few years ago and finally got a chance to on my second trip to Boston! The Iced Rose Latte was 1) super pretty, 2) the espresso was fresh since the coffee is roasted in-house, and 3) the bitterness of the espresso meshed well with the sweet, floral elements of the rose and creaminess of the drink overall. Really enjoyed it! The Geometric Apple has got to be one of the most unique desserts I've ever had. I was afraid it would be gimicky and not have good flavor but I'm so happy I was wrong. The cheesecake mousse was soft, sweet, and lush. I'm not big on apple desserts but the apple compote and caramel paired well together and were nicely balanced. The chocolate sponge cake tasted good but could've been softer and more moist. All in all, it was absolutely worth having on my itinerary. If I'm back in Boston, I would definitely try their other dessert/drink options. Highly recommend checking them out and supporting this small business!

Yelp
A cute, quaint & instagrammable bakery that has cool 3D goods. We ordered the geometric apple and tulip near close (not many other options left). Both desserts were tasty. I loved the different layers of the pastry. For the price, it's worth a visit. You don't see many cool pastries like this around. Might not be memorable enough to frequent the place but will always stop by if someone new in town wants to try!

Yelp
My aunt and I went here while walking down Newbury street for a quick treat! I found this on TikTok and it was also recommended to me through a coworker who visited earlier this summer. I got the purple Mango/Vanilla Mousse "cake" and it was really good! I had no idea what the flavor profiles would be here, I didn't think it would be anything fruity based on what they look like, so I was pleasantly surprised! The service was decent. I think they may need to implement a Starbucks type of system where people's drinks don't get mixed up and they should also cover them before they give them to you. I found it sort of unsanitary for them not to. I wish this place was a bit bigger, but I understand the size/space, luckily we were able to grab a seat on such a busy Saturday!

Yelp
This was on our list to check out on a visit to Boston and it did not disappoint. Everything was so perfect, both in flavor and appearance (how cute are these?!) the staff was great and the space was so well designed
google avatar

Jasmine J.

Yelp
I'm usually skeptical of pretty cakes and pastries because they usually look better than they taste, but these 3D-printed cakes are the real deal. They're as delicious as they are stunning, with so many fun flavors to choose from!
google avatar

Eyleen M.

Yelp
I stumbled upon this during my visit to Boston. If it's your first time seeing or trying these desserts, I say definitely try it. I'm a huge coffee gal and foodie and I really enjoyed my visit here. There are a few areas to sit, but the space is great. If you plan to study here, it may not be the right spot unless you grab a seat early. I got the lavender latte and I loved it. It does have a strong lavender flavor though so be mindful of that if you don't like that sort of thing. On to the dessert, I got the geometric apple which is the most popular one. It was beautifully made. It's essentially a cheesecake with apple filling and then a chocolate cake like bottom. Not too sweet, I was able to finish one on my own. Staff are very warm and welcoming. Area is kept clean. Will definitely come back!
google avatar

Justin T.

Yelp
I can only speak to the drinks here, since we didn't try any of the desserts or pastries. We got the Spanish Lattes, which I recommend. It was just the right level of sweet, with it not being too sweet, but just enough to have the drink taste good. Other than the Spanish Latte, some other of the speciality flavors included a Rose Latte and a Lavender Latte. The inside of the store has a very clean aesthetic, and there is some seating available. Overall, this is a solid option for a good coffee.
google avatar

Olivia F.

Yelp
Some of the most stunning desserts I've ever seen! I tried the geometric apple and rose desserts as well as an iced latte. The coffee was good and worked well with the sweet desserts. I think the designs are more for looks than taste, the shell is beautiful and the cross section looked amazing but there was nothing that wowed me with the taste.
google avatar

Susie D.

Yelp
This place gets a lot of attention on invisible, unfortunately the hype didn't live to expectation for me. The cakes look beautiful but flavor wise fell flat for me. I ordered asymmetrical apple (5/10)- it looked beautiful but taste was too sweet and average. A lot of apple pie flavor with very little caramel hints. The mango pineapple cake was better (7.5/10) - still sweet for me but the tropic notes cut the sugar. It's not worth the price in my opinion. The service is excellent. The place has good ambiance for the photos but it's small so only few folks can get the best seats and it's also a bit worn, only good for photos.
google avatar

Jenny X.

Yelp
This place was such a unique place for dessert! It was selling out even as we were in line. Good: - The shapes are so pretty and presentation is truly unique - We got the coconut lime since the geometric apple had sold out and it was nice and light, refreshing overall Bad - Come early otherwise both seating and the food you want will be gone. Overall had a good experience and would try the geometric apple.

Yelp
We were in the area, trying to hit up any last-minute spots before the end of our trip and the pastries here caught our eye. We decided to stop by with our luggage in tow but I want to note that this place may be a bit difficult to bring your luggage into, so better to sit outside and have someone order and bring it out. Service was okay, not the friendliest I've experienced. I got the sense the employees didn't care much and we also got a hibiscus tea on the side which tasted a bit watery. I think this place is good for a quick rest stop or if you want cute food pics but there are better spots in the area with better service.

Yelp
When I saw the leaf and the apple dessert on Yelp, it was an immediate, ' I HAVE to have that', feeling. So I bribed the person coming from Boston with my special customized spinach ravioli with sautéed vegetables for bringing this dessert in exchange ;) Was it worth it ?! Well, I got to see up close how a celebrity dessert looks, but then I found out it had gelatin, and I am allergic to that, so, my partner got to eat everything- my special dinner and the most exclusive desserts, I got cheated !!! Booo hoo :( The cafe is in an upscale neighborhood ( not surprising), it was perfect weather for that perfect dessert. I was told that the guy who packed it warned against taking it on the flight as it was mousse and it could either melt, or go the opposite way and harden depending on the temperature it is exposed to as against the controlled environment within the cafe. We got the to-go in any case. The cold flight temperature and the short distance home had helped retain the shape but it also hardened a bit, nevertheless it was still sooo unique- a combination of mousse, apple stuffing and a little bit of cake hidden inside- absolutely worth the $10 per dessert ! " Jus sooo good !" was the reaction of those of us who actually got to relish it. Maybe another celebrity chef will make a celebrity dessert which even I can eat too. Christmas is coming.... miracles happen ;).

Yelp
Lovely shop. Not sure I personally would go out of my way for the pastries again, but the macchiato had great flavor and I would definitely return for that. Especially nice since good quality espresso on Newbury seems to be so hard to find. Whoever sources the beans and also the baristas behind the bar certainly seem to know what they're doing. Thanks!
google avatar

Yelp
Very cute place and delicious desserts! My only comment would be that the staff wasn't the nicest but it was a good meal nonetheless. We sat downstairs where it was more private and there were more seating options. I had the cran jewel which was absolutely delicious (especially if you love pistachio and fruit) and the peanut butter banana was pretty good too. The chocolate croissant was delicious and fresh. I'm not a coffee drinker but I am a sucker for lavender so I decided to try the lavender latte (decaf) and it was really good! Unlike some places, you definitely can taste and smell the lavender in the drink. I would definitely come back to try some of their other options. Maybe I'll go earlier In the day to have more options.

Yelp
My friend's been wanting to try here, but hasn't really gotten the chance to catch them before they sell out of everything. We decided to test our luck and thankfully there were still pastries in stock. We opted for the geometric apple and this ginger pear pastry. The seating arrangement in this cafe is a bit tricky and takes a little bit to maneuver around, but there's more seating downstairs. The store itself is pretty narrow so it gets pretty cramped, but we managed to snag a small table between the two of us. They played the desserts on this plate with dividers, so you didn't have to carry around two plates for two desserts. I thought that was a little convenient detailing in how they serve. As for the pastries: GEOMETRIC APPLE: This one was beautiful to look at, but I didn't think the flavors meshed too well in this. There was caramel mousse wrapped around a thick spoonful of apple compote rested on a chocolate sponge. In theory these flavors should complement each other well, like a caramel apple. Maybe the flavors were too spiced for me, but I felt like it was a lot going on. GINGER PEAR: The ginger pear, on the other hand, was a soothing flavor especially in the winter time! There was pear compote on top of a vanilla base wrapped with a layer of ginger mousse. The ginger mousse wasn't too strong, very smooth and just paired really well with the pear. The flavors altogether made it a very delicious winter appropriate dessert. The cafe was cute and the pastries showed amazing craftsmanship. There are a lot of options to choose from and it seems like they rotate their menus out seasonally, so you'll never get bored.

Yelp
We went jonquils cafe early June visiting from Hawaii, my son was really amazed with the 3D Printing fruit cake shape. We really love the Newbury St.
google avatar

Ash R.

Yelp
We went on two separate occasions because of how amazing this bakery is. I'd highly recommend the yellow cake that is lime and coconut. We also got the purple one which is a fruitier cake which was good but not as good as the yellow cake. The desserts are super unique with a delicate shell with a unique texture and cake filling. The Rose and matcha latte was okay, but nothing to write home about.
google avatar

Yelp
I admit I was lured in my all the pictures that have been floating around social media, but I was a bit disappointed by my visit. I tried the Apple Caramel, which does look gorgeous in person, and supposedly had an interesting combination of flavors (apple confit, soft caramel, cream cheese, caramel cream, crunch, chocolate sponge), but the taste was very muted and there was no "crunch" whatsover. The store also gets incredibly hectic on weekends (do not expect to find any available seating), and the line to the cash register can get a bit chaotic.
google avatar

Danielle M.

Yelp
So this place was on my must go to list because they make 3D printed desserts, pretty cool right? I would have to say for my first experience I left feeling a bit disappointed. To be fair we visited near the end of the day and they were sold out of most of their desserts, they literally only had 2 flavors left. The one we chose was a banana peanut butter dessert and it was just okay. The girl at the counter really couldn't explain the 3D process and to be fair it was a long line so it probably was just poor timing. The inside of the restaurant was cute, a typical coffee shop looking establishment. I would like to come back and try a more appealing flavor.
google avatar

Michelle Y.

Yelp
Very cute cafe and great aesthetic! Decor is also nice. Desserts live up to the hype and so yummy. Coffee was okay. I liked the LOVE one for the chocolate mouse. Nice amount of seating but downstairs the seatings has seen better days - lots of stains but I guess it is evitable.
google avatar

Kay D.

Yelp
The ambiance of this place is cute and the service is good. Although the prices are quite high and the quality of desserts and pastries are super low. The drinks were also just mid. Unfortunately I wouldn't necessarily recommend it :(

Yelp
Nestled in the heart of the Newbury street lies a pastry shop that defies expectations - a place where delectable creations masquerade as everyday objects, and every bite is a surprise. As you scan the display in this cute bakery, you'll notice pastries that resemble everyday items - a rose that's actually like a tiramisu, a tulip filled with mango and raspberry cream, and even an apple that hides the layers and richness of an apple tart within it. The creativity that goes into each pastry's design is nothing short of remarkable. I sampled several, and each one left me in awe of the pastry chef's artistry. All of the pastries looked so good that you almost feel bad eating them. The flavors are diverse, ranging from classic to adventurous. Whether you're a fan of traditional pastries or keen to explore new taste sensations, this pastry shop has something for everyone. The attention to detail is astounding. From the realistic appearance of the pastries to the careful selection of ingredients, it's evident that the team here is passionate about their art/craft. This bakery stands out as a shining example of culinary creativity. I can't recommend it enough to anyone seeking a truly unique and scrumptious adventure. It's a perfect place to bring a family member or a date you want to amaze.

Yelp
Stopped here on a late Saturday morning. No line to order and service was prompt. It got much busier in the afternoon. There is limited seating on the first floor but more spots downstairs. I tried the Spanish latte, ginger pear, and twisted pumpkin desserts. The latte was good but the desserts surprisingly taste as good as they look! Pricey but they are aesthetically pleasing. Be aware that the ginger pear is very ginger-y on the inside. Will stop by again when in the area
google avatar

Sandra S.

Yelp
In terms of aesthetics of the dessert and concept, it's really pretty and fun. Definitely a cute photo. But for the price I paid ($9.25 per) I think the flavors and overall dessert was lacking. My favorite would have to be the tulip. Although it was the smallest in size, it had the best flavor. The flavorless semi stale cookie on the bottom of it didn't add to at all.

Yelp
Love this place! One of the go to spots! Their desserts are so delicious and pretty and coffee is so good

Yelp
While I was visiting Boston, I checked out this super cute bakery! It's located downtown, about 20 minutes from the airport on Newbury Street. I didn't try any of the drinks but the geometric apple and autumn leaves dessert were soft with chocolate inside , like a mousse. The service was great and the staff were friendly. It was a nice cozy place as well! Would definitely go again.

Yelp
Came here around 2 pm on a Saturday with a date. We were hoping to try out the beautifully designed desserts, but by then, there were only 3 options to choose from. If you have your eyes set on a certain dessert, you will have to go earlier before things get sold out. We ended up getting the cran-jewel and the Ferrero rocher chocolate ball (forgot the name). Both desserts were very good, the rocher one wasn't too sweet and I liked the mixture of the mouse and crunchy hard shell. The cran-jewel had a cranberry filling but was not too tart. We also ordered two hot oolong tea, perfect for the cold weather, and balanced out the dessert sweetness/tartness nicely. The menu is a bit pricey, but overall, it was a fun experience, and the place is pretty cozy. It is small, so be prepared if you do not see any seating since there is no outdoor seating in the winter.

Yelp
Solid dessert place! I like the design of it! The food is awesome. I came before they close and the only 3 dessert for me to pick. I picked this one. Very smooth, I like how chocolate it is and it taste real hazelnut! Service is not bad. They were kind and fast! No WiFi tho. Recommend this place!

Yelp
My partner and I ordered the geometric apple and ginger pear - TASTE: 3/5 - the ginger pear was lovely and had a strong pear taste combined w, what we believed was, nutmeg too. The geometric apple was a bit underwhelming in comparison; the apple confit, cheesecake mousse, and chocolate sponge didn't really come through for me TEXTURE: 4/5 - the 3D-printed geometric molds are obviously cool and the ingredients layered inside are skillful. The geometric apple had nice touches: a chocolate stem and chocolate crunchy bits inside PRICE: 4/5 - both desserts were $9, which we expected SERVING SIZE: 4/5 - we shared, but the treats are definitely small. Only a few bites to each SERVICE: 3/5 - we tried coming previously on a weekend afternoon but the line was almost out the door. This time, we planned better lol, arrived at 10:45am on a Sunday, and Jonquils was advantageously empty. The staff was friendly and explained some of the technique in creating the desserts ATMOSPHERE: 4/5 - bright, narrow space though little seating on both floors PARKING: 4/5 - as always, parking can be tough on Newbury. We got a street spot on St James Ave x Berkeley St and walked the few blocks over

Yelp
Love this place! Great drinks, great dessert. The ambiance is great as well, nothing too crazy to mention. The food takes the show. There is always a long line so service does take a while.

Yelp
This cafe bakery is the cutest with adorable dessert. The cafe has a bathroom and seat with outlets all through the cafe. There's outdoor, indoor, and lower level seating. The dessert is such a joy to try. It looks cute and tastes really good. The fruit flavors really come through. We got the geometric apple and autumn leaf. Both are super good in their own way. Def recommend.

Yelp
Our favourite was the rose (strawberry) among the three pastries we have tried! The rose featured a nice crunchy out layer and soft and creamy inside that full of flavor and it was surprisingly very good though the presentation was okay. We got the passionate love (passion fruit chocolate) and it was very tart to the point we could not finish it. The coconut pineapple did not stand out to us as well. Overall, I'd say their pastries are inconsistent with quality in regards to presentation and flavors. Their lavender lemonade was super carbonated and it was nothing special as well. This place has limited seating and we had to stand in a corner at a table to finish our pastries. The interior felt like a regular bakery shop which I expected it to be fancier given the aesthetics of their pastry. This is self-service where you order at the front, they will hand you your pastries in cheap paper plates and find your own seats. Overall, my experience was okay but I came later in the afternoon where most of the good pastries were sold out. Maybe I will return another day to try their other pastries and provide an updated review. Food: 7/10 Service: 7/10 Experience: 7/10 Value: 6.5/10

Yelp
Overall: 6.1/10 Food: 7/10 Coffee: 5/10 Ambiance: 5.5/10 A bit underwhelmed when I went, I got the sense that it was a very instagrammy spot that wasn't fully fleshed out. Didn't have wifi which kinda sucks but not necessarily a requirement. I got an apple pastry which was pretty good but nothing special, as well as an Americano which was below my expectations. They have some cool baked goods which are their speciality, but I wasn't as interested in them, and thus can only judge based on what I had. If you are interested in those then I'd say check this place out, but I wouldn't come back for the coffee or to do work.

Yelp
Seeing this place on the list of top 10 most unique desserts in the US made it a must try while I was in Boston. I did really like the concept of the apple and I thought it was a unique take on recreating the flavors of an apple in a dessert. It was definitely the better of the two. The ginger pear was nice and definitely had a unique flavor as well, but I don't think they're the greatest desserts or near the top 10 of the best desserts I've ever had. Definitely worth a stop though, they're very unique and cool! The service was fast and efficient too.

Yelp
$10 for a small pastry is a bit steep in my opinion, but I can tell a lot of effort was put into each dessert here as the presentation is so pretty and picture-worthy. I ordered a Twisted Pumpkin and even though I finished it in about 5-6 bites, I thought it was delicious. It had a yummy filling that was a bit crunchy that I really enjoyed and it definitely satisfied my craving for something sweet. While I probably would not come back to try anything else, I do think it's worth a try at least once since they have fun options to pick from!

Yelp
This places seems fancy and an instant hit on IG. But they can be slightly inconsistent. The cakes are actually really delicious and surprisingly LOW in sugar. I loved the aesthetics of the apple cake, probably their most popular cake. But the second time I went, none of the pastries were painted. They were all blank/white. Think they ran out of coloring? I would definitely still suggest checking the place out and trying their cakes (when properly decorated/finished)

Yelp
Fun geometric shaped desserts, can be a little hit or miss. Didn't have the flora (flower) tea today and they forgot my hibiscus tea, but once I got it it was fine.
