JORO Restaurant

Undoubtedly the best fine dining restaurant in the region. A comfortable setting, excellent front of house and really outstanding food. We've been before, both here and the former setting. First time having the full menu at the current venue and it was delightful. We wondered if it would be good value vs the incredible lunch menu. It was. If this place doesn't get a star this year, the guide needs to re-interview for inspectors.

Dine and stay at Joro such a treat for our wedding anniversary! The current Japanese inspired menu was thoroughly enjoyable, a captivating mix of punchy and subtle flavours. I don't want to spoil the adventure of discovering the dishes and the menu will change periodically, but there wasn't a course we didn't enjoy. Always fun to find new flavours and combinations. A highlight of the current menu was the celeriac course - who knew the humble root veg related to celery could be SO tasty! And the Amalfi chilli sauce with the trout was beautifully balanced to bring out the delicate taste of the trout. We didn't have the drinks package, but the staff were very helpful recommending drinks. The cocktails, a twist on the usuals, were an additional layer of enjoyment to the evening and the meal, lots of choice of drinks. I discovered sake, japanese rice wine, a great alternative compliment to white wine. The serving staff were friendly, attentive and knowledgeable, able to answer my many questions! The theatre of being able to watch Luke and the team create all the dishes in front of you really adds to the experience. The room, we had what was I think the larger apartment style room 1, was beautifully set out, welcome miso and chocolate cookies, with plenty of amenities. Breakfast was a tasty mix of Japanese and Scandinavian, a great final treat to the stay. The self-check in was really convenient. Parking is across the road from the Mill, not behind it. Thank you everyone at Joro for an amazing anniversary treat!

Enjoyed the menu One lunch here for my wife’s birthday, 5 of us and grandson. We all selected a different course as our favourite at the end of the meal, highlighting the delicious range of flavours. Quality of the food was impeccable, service friendly and polite with good explanation of each dish and in a comfortable and relaxed ambiance. Would definitely recommend the Joro experience.

What an experience! This was by far one of the best places I've had the pleasures of eating at. Everything was perfect. The temperature of the room down to the seating arrangements. The food was out of this world, the depth of flavor and how each course had its own accompanied drink that paired with, choice of alcoholic or non. Meticulous planning went into the most subtle of details to give you the most amazing experience.

Some dining experiences stand out not just for the food, but for the feeling they create — and JÖRO delivered that effortlessly from start to finish. From the moment we arrived, the staff set a tone of warmth and professionalism that made us feel immediately welcome. Every interaction felt genuine, attentive, and perfectly timed.

We had the most fabulous time experiencing the Menu 2. It was full of surprises and creativity. Each mouthful was bursting with flavour and ingenuity!! The service was impeccable and at the right speed. We had the best seats in the house, right at the front which was perfect to see the team at work! We chose the Soft Drinks pairing (£45) and it did not disappoint! It’s all made in house and paired well with the courses!

I’ve been coming to Joro for a few years now, but this was my first time at the new venue. The food has always been brilliant, but the composition and pacing of the menu has stepped up even further. Every course earned its place and was an absolute joy!! As ever the service was really friendly and attentive. The drinks pairings are exceptional, we shared both the soft and alcohol pairings and were debating on every course which was best - often it was the soft option which are mostly created in house by their genius sommelier. We also stayed in one of their rooms, which was cosy, comfy and luxurious. The deli style breakfast was delicious, and there is a lovely cafe / bar downstairs to get freshly made coffees. If you love good food this is place is a must for your list!

Great experience! Each dish was beautifully crafted and tasted just amazing. The price was also very reasonable; i've paid more for much worse. Would recommend!
