Joseph's Pizza Parlor

I ride my bike (my main form of transportation in the Northeast where I live) 30 minutes to Fox Chase from Winchester Park specifically FOR the Old World Italian hoagie. This is only my second time having it, but it was a great as the first time. I used to come here for the pizza, which is good, but I work at a pizzeria myself and I’ve moved on to hoagies. The potato chips are also delicious and made in-house. This restaurant has been here since 1966 and the old building is so cool! Great personnel.

Got the upside down pizza with sausage and pepperoni. Was good. Beer was surprisingly cheaper than soda. *Update Oct 2025. My work ordered several cheesesteaks to go, and everyone mentioned that it fell apart.

Food is usually good and never had issues prior. Ordered the “bee sting” pizza and the chicken parm sandwich on 9/25. Both were disgusting. The pizza looked nothing like their Facebook post, ate one slice and had to throw it out. It was not edible. The chicken parm had too much sauce, we only had half of both sandwiches (ordered 2). Honestly was a waste of money so won’t be returning. Let them know on Facebook but no response so oh well. Lesson learned.

I came here with bestie and daughter to try some pizza. The pizza pies are huge but taste really good. I love how fresh the mozzarella sticks were and ver cheesy. The service was great and it was very clean and vibes were nice. They do have a variety of specialty pizza as well as other things in the menu to try. I will definitely be back.

We came there on a whim with 9 people tonight and Jess was so accommodating. She was our waitress as well and she was attentive and really great and helpful. I appreciated her. Good job Jess! The pizza was awesome. This is the first time I’ve been there and I really enjoyed it. I guess that’s why it was so busy but we got seated right away. I can’t imagine going on a Friday or Saturday. Great food. We got the vampire slayer and the Margherita. Both perfectly made. I def will come back. The lighting and the old timey feel was cool too. My new favorite in the area. It’s not hard to get good pizza around here because it’s Philly but I feel like everything combined was just really good. But this is top 5.

Wow wow wow ! What a pizza ! First time ordering from Jospeh’s and it definitely won’t be my last . Pizza was cooked perfectly, crispy with excellent flavor . Don’t get me started on the Cajun wings ! Been looking for a place with a great dry rub recipe and I’ve hit the jackpot ! Thank you for a great Friday night meal !

Had to order after a stellar review by Lil Snuff Perri. Our full size Sicilian was absolutely fantastic. Cheese was magnificent, crust was best ever tasted, and cooked to perfection. This is our new "GO TO" for extraordinary pizza at a very fair price. If you have not tried Joseph's, you definitely want to do so. Staff were very personable and the restaurant is very clean. My husband and I come to Joseph's every time we're at Jeanes Hospital. We've been coming here since we were in high school so it's nostalgic! The Italian Margarita is my drink! It changes every so often. This time it was made with pear . The Amaretto adds depth. It is always yummy! The pizza is sooo good. The crust isn't too thin or too thick. It was nice and crisp with some bubbles. I love the brown bubbles on the crust! It has a good tomato/cheese ratio. Happy Hour is every day 3-6. The whole drink menu is discounted.

The food is okay, nothing special. In a pinch it's good for takeout. Pizza looks great in pics but it lacks flavor, not sure why.

We recently found this spot and have lived near it all our lives! The food is delicious we usually opt for the pizza steaks but, this time tried the pasta and it was also super good! We also got the cheese fries because, they are a must! Staff is great, and fast arrive! Cute spot locally!

Ugh! First visit was great. Takeout order was perfect. No issues. Second visit..ugh. I got onion rings that were over cooked. I thought I was going to crack a tooth. The chicken tenders were overly cooked as well. Four tiny pieces for $15.

I wasn't aware that Joseph's was under new ownership. It only hit me when I saw the Joseph's Pizza logo on a sandwich wrapping paper down the street at the Gaul & Co. Malt House. With the weather being absolutely perfect on Friday, I decided to pop by. It was very lively inside. The last time I visited Joseph's was in the early 2000's and don't remember it ever being that busy. The seating and decor didn't change much but it's always been a cozy interior in my opinion. I noticed they serve alcohol and I'm pretty sure they never used to. We started with an order of fries and a Vampire Slayer pizza. The fries were good but didn't have salt on them. The Vampire Slayer pie was slammin' - some slices were greasier than others. I loved the thin crust. It would've been better with veggies but I wanted to try it as is first. Next time I'll definitely get it with toppings. I'm stoked about the Joseph's revamp. This is a great spot to take out of town guests, especially with the pizza mural outside.

I paid 30.00 for a cheese steak and French fries and it was nasty! I'm so disappointed ! The cheese steak was dried out and taste like a minute stake.. Then the guy took my fries out of the basket with his hands and put them in my to go container.. That's just gross !!

Listen I have been to Joseph's under all owners, Born and raised in fox chase since early 60's and have enjoyed my food and experience until October 9,2026 when my husband and I went in for lunch and there were little mice running round. We saw 3, so I'm sure there is more. This needs to get fixed. Unacceptable conditions.

Did you ever hear the quote " first impression leave long lasting impressions". Our first visit to Joseph's Pizza Parlor and it was a bad impression. My wife and I Waited to be seated for a good 5 mins as we stood at the front entrance as the girls looked our way and ignored us. , I guess they felt it wasn't their job ! Ok ... we finally get seated and then get paraded way in the back of the restaurant ...Waited an another good 12 minutes before my wife and I said " this ain't looking too good " we respectfully gave the girls that keep ignoring us a couple more minutes before we got up and walked out. I couldn't imagine what the rest of our dining experience was gone to entail. So, We decided to leave and go to another nearby restaurant . There were plenty of people working but they appeared to have no urgency and quite Frankly I don't think they cared ! I was told the pizza is good.. maybe next time ! If I can only get the bad impression out of my head .... Maybe Matt can address this !!!!!

Decided to come here for dinner Friday night. I had never been before but heard good things about it. There is a parking lot next to the restaurant so that's always a plus! We were able to be reseated right away which was great! I didn't realize how big the restaurant was until we walked through two dining rooms before coming to the last one which is where we were seated. We ordered a Caesar salad (regular size was plenty for two people) to start and the Queen Bee pie with pepperoni. Everything was SO GOOD! Oh and we also had a few drinks-I enjoyed a wonderful espresso martini!

Me and my husband 100% over ordered but it was well worth it cause everything was amazing! Plus we had plenty of leftovers to enjoy at home. The day we went in they just started serving tomato pies so everyone got a complimentary slice. It will deff be a great addition to their menu. We ordered a standard pie with peppers on it. The caesar salad was the best caesar salad I've ever had out at a restaurant. Typically restaurants just give you romaine with nothing else but this salad was loaded with roasted peppers which are my favorite!! The wings are identical to Gaul House (same owners) and they're one of my absolute favorite dry rub wings in the area. I can't speak on the pasta & sausage as I don't like spicy sauce but my husband enjoyed it!

There was an Italian restaurant that we used to get pizza from the gods. I kid you not. Every morning they would roast 30 bulbs of fresh garlic in olive oil and the smell was intoxicating to say the least. You WANTED to order the white pizza with roasted garlic and tomato slices. That is NOT what you will get here. If, and I say if, there was garlic on this pizza it would have been that jarred minced garbage. Also, they charged me for a few slices of tomato. In truth, I would gladly been happy to pay the $30.00 (yes I did get extra cheese) for this pizza if only for the roasted garlic. The onion rings were really good but seriously overpriced at $12.00 for, I'm guessing 10 to 12 rings. But they were crunchy good. Finally the star of the order was the cheese steak. Probably the best I've had in quite some time. I did order extra American even so, I'd never complain about the price. The steak has virtually no discernible fat of grizzle. There were just the right amount of beautifully caramelized onions and the roll was soft and delicious. Now throw away the jarred garlic and roast your own.

Today 10/21/2025 , I ordered a pepperoni pizza with extra sauce! The pizza arrived and it had #1017 on the side of the box! Me and my wife were hangry by the time it arrived and when I opened the box, it wasn't a round pie it was oblong and it had pepperoni on the pie that looked as though a drunk made this pie! Most of the pepperoni on the pie was dumped on less than half the pie and it definitely didn't have extra sauce that I paid for! Like a Fool i started to eat it and shouldn't have! I should have complained about it and returned the pie The asshole that made that pizza should be fired! I'm posting this and I'm also going to call the store and complain! Joe from Fox Chase!

Had a great time this evening. Ordered a few beers and spent time mingling with my husband after a hard work week. The seating in here is so comfy and nice. We ordered a pepperoni mushroom pizza to share and we were not disappointed. Be prepared to sit and wait for 30-45 minutes. This place gets busy and the waitresses are doing everything they can to get food out and make customers happy. The table next to us stormed out of here because they didn't get their food quickly, and that was sad. I wish they ordered a beer and relaxed like we did. We came for an experience and got what we asked for. Great food, great ambience, great service. We'll definitely be back.

Went with friends before going to bingo , pizza was very tasty , also had mozzarella sticks and French fries ! Sticks were large and cheesey , fries were nice and golden and crispy . They have been around for a long time , always like the atmosphere and servers !

Only my third time here, But my Mom's first time and we dined IN. cheese fries were delicious and the plain pizza was garlicky and so flavorful. Our waitress was Sierra and timing was great and she checked in but wasn't hawking us. Tables were comfortable and there was a decent amount of people eating in. Someone ordered a cheesesteak and the meat and cheese was overflowing and they smelled amazing. Also, the music was great and everyone seemed to be humming or singing along. A great time for All. Really good take away pizza. basic red with pepperoni. Solid with really good ratios, crisp, chew, and overall flavor. Also got mozz sticks - homemade...and onion rings .....a bit of a $ dinger $ but high quality across the board. Will be back to dine in.

we went to Joseph's pizza from fox chase cancer center. We just wanted some pizza and a reprieve. Instead, we were met with very loud music and burn, chewy, awful pizza. I had to ask the server to please turn down the music so we could hear each other talk. we ordered a pizza; it was burnt on the bottom and the crust. When I asked out waitress about the burnt pizza, she replied," that this was their special signature, that they are known for their burnt pizza". I never heard of such a thing, who wants burnt pizza! It was awful, the crust is my favorite part. it was so burnt and chewy, we could eat it. It was very expensive. what a huge disappointment. not worth your hard-earned money or time, $4 for a small fountain soda too!! I encourage you to look for another pizza parlor.

Just why??? Gave them a second chance after this happened last month. 5:15pm ordered 1 chicken parm and 1 slice of choc cake. 6:55 pm, after calling twice to see where my order was, this is what the women tells me: 1. was hungry & decided to order a bite to eat for my friend and i. b4 i continue any further, i want to preface this by saying that i am far from cheap. i dont mind spending a few bucks, u get what u pay 4 in my opinion. anyhow, i called and ordered a pizza & chs steak along with a 2 liter... grand total: $59.00 sorry josephs! too rich 4 my blood.

Listen, the pizza here is pretty decent. But $52 for one pizza, an order of pizza fries and two sodas is ridiculous. And to charge for refills makes this place even worse. Won't be coming back any time soon, if ever.

Joseph's used to be good when they first changed hands , not so much the last three times we ordered from them , 3 times in a row the order was wrong , this order went through door dash took over an hour to be delivered and we live 5 minutes away , they apparently don't use door dash drivers and use their own delivery people , the pizza was the wrong pie and cold but that could be because it was in the trunk of the delivery car for who knows how long , hoagie was over saturated with mayo and was warmer than the fries that came with it which were ice cold , ordered a side of cherry peppers and received one pepper , chicken fingers were ok but they are hard to mess up , even the 2 liter coke appeared to be opened before we got it so we threw that out , we will never try them again , hope for their owners sake they get their stuff together

so I called to place a takeout order we didn't on the phone for about 10 minutes by that time I already arrived at the restaurant. I went in, and I saw the woman behind the counter bagging up an order and talking. The phone was hanging from the counter, which that was me on the other line, but I hung up when I walked in. I was annoyed. Let that go ordered some food extremely expensive not only expensive but poor quality last time I will be going there.

I love this place!! Good food and good service every time! I do recommend eating in over ordering delivery. A few times my food was cold or luke warm by the time I got it. They make an amazing turkey hoagie which is usually my go too. They have good wings especially the bbq and their cheese fries are perfection! Mmm I'm getting a craving just writing this!!!!

Extremely disappointed. 2 stars only because of the history Joseph's has in Fox Chase. First problem... a cup of soda is $3 with no free refill, cause you know, the Philly soda tax! If this was actually the case, then why not offer refills at say a $1, but nope, they gouge. Second problem.. onion rings for $8 sucked. We thought they would be interesting for such an exorbitant price, but no, we got a paltry serving of half burnt, plain jane onion rings. You would assume for bland rings that cost $8 that they would give you a lot, but even that is too much to ask, serving size was pathetic. See attached pic, but we did eat 3 before we took the pic. Next up, pizza. Well heck, screwed again. We ordered a margarita and it was a joke. Too thick sauce, didn't use fresh mozzarella and had two small pieces of basil. Not good. I'm really bummed as I want this place to succeed as I feel like my neighborhood is starting to decline. Maybe they will change up the menu, maybe not. I'll watch subsequent reviews and possibly go back in a few months to reevaluate, we shall see... Oh, on a side note.. we are sitting in the booth with our kids, towards the end of our meal,, there is an obvious kitchen worker with a pint of beer just standing there, right next to us. A waitress asked him what he was doing, the guy says "Drinking a beer!". The waitress responded "No sh_t!". And they all started laughing. No very appropriate in a supposedly family environment.

ordered for dine in, what a fucking mistake. waited over an hour for pizza that was doughy. they can't handle the volume of people. I should have known not to eat here because the kitchen staff are all Mexican, obviously don't know what they are doing. Also 2 morbidly obese guys one with a hobo beard were eating on the counter at the front door. wtf kind place is that. didn't want to get anything else cause the whole menu is crazy over priced. Save your money if you do not want a burnt pizza. Their well done was way over done in our opinion. $50 for two dry pizzas with no flavor because it was all cooked away. Been going there for decades. Guess something changed with the recipe/cook. We were so looking forward to good pizza last night and ended up so very disappointed. It was take-out so we didn't go back. We did reach out to the restaurant via Trip Advisor. Sorry, Joseph's We really used to like your place.

Steaks are delicious!!!! Please ask if seeded bun is wanted bcuz sum ppl aren't accustomed to it & don't knw how good it taste with the cheesesteak. Also know the difference in sweet & hot peppers if taking orders.

Visited Joseph's Pizza Parlor for the first time on 7/29 for my birthday dinner. Fortunately they were able to accommodate our large party with less than 24hrs notice. Unfortunately we were so busy enjoying ourselves I forgot to take pics of most of the food but we got pizzas, salad, chicken fingers and loved everything. The highlights for me were the Queen Bee Pizza with pepperoni as well as the chicken fingers (and the pitcher of cherry soda I was embarrassingly excited about). We even got to sample their meatballs they were testing for the menu. Hoping they become a permanent staple. Delicious! I didn't check out the bar but a few people from my party did and they were very happy with their drinks. Our server, Mia, was outstanding and effortlessly handled our questions, requests and overall craziness. If you're looking for an old school family pizza parlor that brings back the nostalgia of your favorite old school family pizza joint, check this place out.

We've lived in the Fox Chase area our whole lives, and Joseph's was an institution! When it closed, we were all very sad. But now it's open again, and I have to say the pizza is even better than before! The crust is perfect, the seasoning is just right. An outstanding upgrade all the way around. Been hankering to try the new Josephs Pizza after seeing they just reopened recently with new ownership from the same peps at Gaul & Company in Rockledge which has great food BTW. For now they only have eat in, but they did say take-out will be available soon. We went over early for dinner and seated right away. Soon after it started filling up fast. Our server was very friendly she took our order immediately and food came out lightning quick. The pizza was picture perfect as shown and had a perfect crispness for its underbelly and the crust was finished with a very tasty garlic oil. Cheese and sauce were balanced perfectly with wonderful pepperoni cups adoring atop. The cheesesteak was very good. Meat perfectly seared and seasoned. Great mixture of cheese but the only slight downfall I thought was the roll. It was fresh, it just wasn't the standard roll that most people are used to, but it was not bad at all. Glad to see Fox Chase get a great pizza place and new life blood into this old establishment, congrats.

Sorry Matt, I Went here today with some friends, finally since you took over . The place is very nostalgic as in the decor and dining look the way I remember it as a kid. The service was good, waitress was friendly and prompt. The restaurant was FREEZING. It felt like the heater was not on at all, that made for an uncomfortable dining experience. We ordered fries with cheese whiz and mozzarella sticks. Both were good, the cheese whiz was delicious. They charge you $1 for about a tablespoons worth, thankfully the waitress realized we were all sharing (5 of us) so she brought out another cheese. We ordered two pizzas. The margaritas and the vampire. The sauce and cheese had a good flavor and I liked the the vampire pizza had burnt bubbles from the cheese , but the entire crust and pie were terrible!!! It was so dry, hard as a rock. I definitely can't say I'd tell anyone to go here unfortunately. With the temperature of the restaurant , i'd worry if they actually put air conditioning on in the summer, and the hard and dryness of the pizza. I just do not see any real reason to return. (Also did not use a free pizza, I actually forgot it was offered for a new review) sorry I don't have anything better to say :( hope this is helpful though.

This review is from several times of getting take out. First off, I just want to make a blanket statement that just about every time I have gotten takeout from here they have forgotten the free peppers. I don't get napkins. I don't get plastic ware. The peppers are supposed to come with every order and yet they happen to forget them every time. Another night I took advantage of their special; A slice and a milkshake. After giving the restaurant 15 minutes to make the milkshake, I arrived to have to wait an additional 15 minutes just for them to make a milkshake. Then after getting my pizza I walk home to find one of the smallest coldest lousiest slices of pizza I have ever received from any pizza place in Philadelphia!!! However, every other time I've gotten pizza either there or I've seen them slice up a pizza there. The slices are humongous!!! Why am I getting such a tiny slice when it comes to the slice and milkshake deal? Not to mention the price ended up being even more expensive with the added expense of the card charge. But truthfully, price aside, if you're going to strike up a deal to get customers coming in, especially that are within walking distance then you better serve them well. If I'm coming in to get a deal, I would still expect the portions to be the same, especially when it comes to a simple plain slice of cheese pizza! All the slices I saw that night were huge. Why was the one placed in the box so small and gross? I just want to say to end out my review when I have eaten inside either at the bar or at a booth. I've gotten great service and great food. But when it comes to takeout, there's some disconnect in getting the free items that are supposed to come with the order or even getting Fair portions when I'm going out of my way to support a local business that clearly is trying to grow their clientele. I hope that Joseph sees this. I'm not trying to give them a black eye but I would like them to fix this issue. Don't roll out specials that you can't afford and if you're going to roll out a special, make sure it's special!!!

Was at pennypack park and stumbled upon this gem 4 minutes away. It was nice they had a parking lot. Didn't wait long for my pick up. I really loved the cheesesteak. I want to try the queen bee next time and the wings .

I'd recently joined their text club so I was excited by the discount. They told us they needed "the original text" in order to apply the discount, but luckily I still had the first text I sent to join, so when my partner went to pick it up he showed the screenshot with all the details. Nope, denied, $10 off $20 wasn't valid because they needed the ACTUAL phone it came from?? Ok, not the end of the world...but they ended up getting our other main item wrong to boot. Our cheesesteak with well done onions and no seeded roll was actually a cheesesteak with giant chunks of barely cooked onions on a seeded roll. This isn't the first time we've gotten incorrect items but I think it's the last because last night was annoying AND expensive for a cheesesteak that was horrible. I'm still baffled by them not honoring their own coupon. I'm bummed because I'd finally found a pie I like but it's not worth the trouble and possible disappointment with their very high prices.

High priced food that is mediocre at best. Pizza is flat and dry. Drinks are over priced. Decor could use an update, unless you like dining in the 1970's. New owners have a knack for employing undocumented immigrants. They cook all of the food and cannot speak any english. If you want to support a real American business please do not go here.

Ordered a cheesesteak hoagie and it was disgusting. The meat was Steak-Umm tasting and gritty the roll was hard & stale. The price $16.00 totally absurd ! Friendly staff but the quality of the food is not worth the pricing and the cook was touching everything with bare hand's and wiping them with a dirty apron. You would think they'd use fresh gloves to prepare each order due to all the different viruses and germs out here.

Order a cheesesteak with provolone and long hots and this is what I received. My guess is the more publicity that they are getting the more lower the quality the food gets and at the prices that they are charging this should never happen.

Excellent food and service! We were sat right away on a Saturday afternoon. Staff was very attentive and really on top of everything! The chef recommended a pizza suggestion and I am so glad we listened! Would highly recommend getting the Mike's hot and honey sauce on top of pepperoni! It really had the best salt and sweet taste. We will definitely be back!

The new owners got it right! I had the cheese pizza and "white" bitch beer. The cheese had a nice consistency and was not greasy at all. The crust is their "money maker" though. It had a nice crisp, but was not too thin. The sauce had a more rich than sweet flavor. My wife had pepperoni pizza. They use the small, cup style pepperoni. It was not greasy at all. This was a quality pie for sure. The new owners are building on an already strong tradition. Well done.
