Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with Creative Cocktails at These Tampa Bay Hotspots | Eater

"Don’t let the name on this upscale Mexican spot at Sparkman Wharf fool you. Yes, the kitchen puts out top-notch tacos, helmed by chef Joe Isidori, who earned DJT in Las Vegas a Michelin star. But the bar has far more up its sleeve than tequila. If you’re into premium spirits or aged rum, Jotoro can make magic with that too. Try the La Paradiso with Zacapa No. 23 rum, orange liqueur, mango, pineapple, and lime. Or if you’re jonesing for a coffee-based drink, order El Vigo with Zacapa No. 23 rum, espresso liqueur, cold brew, cream, and cola." - Vox Creative

The 12 Best New Restaurants in Tampa | Eater Miami

"While the al fresco waterside “food court” Sparkman Wharf is quite casual, it’s newest tenant lead by Michelin Star chef and partner Joe Isidori sets a far swankier scene. The menu is a Mexican mash-up that combines flavors from East L.A. with nods to Asian cuisine and is described as “where mariachi meets old school hip hop.” The 220-seat eatery plates spicy Vietnamese tacos and Texas-style cheese and steak enchiladas and houses a massive bar with upward of 50 labels of tequila, that can be sipped while taking in the downtown Tampa skyline."

This is a nice spot in Sparkman Wharf to have a sit down meal inside. The fajitas were very good and there tortillas were well made. The queso had tomatoes in it which was not ideal. I ordered the chicken and cheese burrito which was underwhelming. However the portions were very large and we had left overs for the next day. So overall good place!

Google
Best birra tacos we’ve ever had! Well seasoned and tortilla was so crispy. We loved the guacamole, it was the most delicious we’ve ever had, and definitely enjoyed the micro greens on top of them! Jake was our server, and he was so amazing! We were well taken care of and honestly, the best service we’ve received since we’ve been here in Tampa! Give Jake a raise! He was the highlight of our time here at Jotoro!

Google
Super great food! I loved every bite. It's expensive for what you get (2 tacos for $20??) That was a little upsetting, but if you aren't worried about funds, it's a great place. I got the Steak L.A. Style Burrito as a bowl but with tortillas on the side and shared a Three Amigos chip and dip appetizer. The chips are well seasoned, thin, and delicious; not your average Mexican restaurant chips. I also got a Prickly Pear margarita in a reusable bottle and coozy which was very fun and at a good price. I'll be coming back!

From the moment we walked in, until it was time to pay the bill and leave, the wife and I had an amazing food experience here. Now, Grant it, we were only in the area spontaneously but we walked passed this restaurant, smelled the food from outside and had to try it. And we were not disappointed. The starter plate of the trio salsa, queso and quac was delicious. We also devoured lol the sweet and spicy tempura shrimp, that was amazing. And of course we had the piña colada, frozen. And that literally reminded us of being in Hawaii and drinking the same drink there. It was that good. We couldn’t even order anything else because we were pressed for time but just those small starters and drinks were enough for us to know we’re going back lol. Overall 10 out of 10 for us. The staff was great, gorgeous young lady was super sweet and genuine to us and the atmosphere was beautiful. Had us ready to dance while eating lol.

Google
I came across this restaurant while looking for another place that turned out being closed. I sat up at the bar to grab a quick lunch. I ordered The Trinity (salsa, guacamole, and queso) and the Classic Taco Salad. Let’s start with the portion size… maybe it’s because I’m from CA that I’m used to smaller portions, but JoToro does not hold back on portions. The Trinity is an app good for 4-6 people. All three components were really good with the guac being the best of the three. The Taco Salad was good. Bar service was attentive though slow to start, but I think they were short on staff with a loaded bar. The guys were friendly. This casual spot has good food, seems kid-friendly and is appears good for larger parties.

Google
One of those places where you can tell you’re paying for the atmosphere and the location. We all felt the food was “good” but for the price it left something to be desired. At 20+ dollars for each entree, it’s good but not that good. If you get the burrito it’s a decent serving, however tacos felt pretty steep for what you get when the flavor isn’t really all that different from a supreme at Taco Bell. The chips were nice but they were for sure, almost identical, to what you can get at Chilis. There was no consensus with which dish was best and we all felt that if we were to go back we would want to try different items. The salads and Fajitas looked good, the drinks looked good. I think our biggest road block to come back is the price point. If this place were a few dollars cheaper we might have a different perspective.

Wandering Sparkman Wharf makes for an entertaining afternoon or evening. I'm a fan of Jotoro's as a spot to sit down and dine while there. Birria tacos are scrumptious and the beverages are on point. Plus, you get to look at the river, it' a win-win!

Google
I enjoyed my visit here! My friend and I didn’t eat a meal but we did enjoy the Three Amigos with salsa, guac & queso…all of which were delicious. The alcoholic beverages we tried were all really tasty as well. Star’s service was wonderful! I will return when I visit Tampa again.

Yelp
I sat at the bar and got drinks and some food before the Lightning game. The food was amazing (taco salad was so good and big) and drinks were great! Services was also great and fast!

Yelp
The chips and salsa is still amazing, but I'd try something other than the Mexican Cobb Salad next time. Future Christina, next time try another salad. The Mexican Cobb Salad had great dressing, but I think I should have mixed it all together. It's all very pretty, but it comes separated, so I think I ate all the things I liked and ended up with just lettuce. However, there was another salad that looked good, so next time I should try that. The chips and salsa are still absolutely delicious. It's perfectly seasoned. However, I learned I can't eat it by myself. My friend only ate a little, so by the end I was feeling slightly greasy from eating all the chips. I should only order it when I'm with my husband who I know will eat half of it (at least). On a Monday at noon on a holiday (MLK day) I thought it would be packed, but there was still tons of seating. By 1 p.m. it got a little more busy, but still not enough that you would need reservations. Service was still great and parking is plentiful at the Garrison lot. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
Pros: -Big Papa! Shout out! Fantastic waiter! He was friendly and super on top over everything! -Salsa was unique and flavorful! One of the best I have a had in a long time. The chips were also super fresh and crisp. -Drink were well made and really good. Cons: -Main Dish: Chicken Fundido Burrito. This is where the stars were lost. The chicken was quite fatty, I got a few bites with gristle (which is a huge turn off). The burrito was also incredibly smokey, which I personally do not care for that flavor profile and really wish that was well-stated on the menu. Smoky flavors are often very strong and if you are not a fan of it, or expecting it... it can be surprising and a bit of a let down. My hubs also had a meal he said was smoky too. Which is fine, but please put something on the menu to let people know (that way they can pick something else if not a fan of those types of flavors). Overall, it was an okay experience. I think this was be a good bar hopping place to experience but not sure about meals unless you really like smoky flavors (which many do like and love, just not for me) and I think they could do better on meat selection/cuts.

Yelp
Food: 3 Service: 4 Ambiance:3 I wish I could give this place a 4 because the team is awesome but the food and the atmosphere was not. I came in on a Friday afternoon hoping for an early happy hour but this place was dead. Food was bland and even the bartender felt bad because we didn't eat our food. She offered to get us new options but we passed. I see this place busy on the weekends so was surprised it was fairly empty. Did enjoy the service. Everyone was friendly and chatty. The margaritas were a good size and taste. Maybe worth giving it another shot.

Yelp
Great quick lunch at JoToro. Mid day was a great time to come, no wait and got our meals quickly. Our server was friendly and efficient. And the food was delicious. You can sit in or outside which is nice as well. The Mexican Cob was great, a bit salty on the shrimp seasoning but still delicious

Yelp
My boyfriend and I agreed this was our favorite and tastiest meal we had in Tampa! We tried the beef tacos, steak & cheese enchiladas and rice & beans. Everything was delicious and full of bold flavors! Ali was our bartender and she was a lot of fun to chat with plus made great drinks! It's beautifully decorated inside and also has outdoor seating.

Yelp
JoToro Kitchen and Tequila Bar was just on the border of good for us. This place serves up fresh tacos and other latin cuisine but my wife and I found it pretty pricey for what it was. We ordered Chips and guac. $14. And the guac was gone way before the chips. Maybe it was made fresh in house but for that price, more than a small scoop would be expected. My wife ordered Birria Tacos. You get 2 of them for $18. Great flavor. They had a zing and were a bit on the messy side. They may have had a bit more filling in them than you normal tacos Mexicanos but I'd much rather have the 4 tacos for $10 at the restaurant down the street than these. The same for the tacos I ordered. Two chipotle chicken tacos for $18. They were filling and seemed to be mostly veggies on top with the chicken hidden down in there. The sides of rice and beans were sufficient but didn't blow us away for $6. The service was friendly and we came at like 11am so it wasn't super busy. A quick, tasty but pretty pricey lunch. I might come back here again but wouldn't go out of my way for it.

Yelp
This place was meh. The food is subpar for the price. The server was amazing. I booked a reservation for 5:30 and my dinner mate showed up late. One at 5;40 and the other at 6:00. She was so nice and kept checking up with me. I ordered my drink and look at the small selection of food. Chip & salsa was extra! I mean ok. My steak bowl was more sauce than steak. The steak was swimming in the sauce I could barely find it. I wanted to try their butter beer margarita and that wasn't available. I asked for utensil and they don't have any available they were being wash. Guacamole wasnt flavored well. Will I come again, probably not. It's not like they are hurting for business it's always packed. It's a happening pace.

Yelp
Lovely experience and lication to visit when many things seemed closed on new years. A variety of drinks and dishes and we were a large group so we were able to try many different things. Portions are generous and shareable and the watermelon cocktail is devine if you appreciate a bit of spice. The decor of the restaurant was beautiful and the service was on point with getting us our bottomless chips. Well located in the wharf area and by the Florida Aquarium. It is a convenient spot to visit before going to the aquarium since they offer a discount code with purchase to tickets at the aquarium! Highly reccomend!

Yelp
Great place to catch dinner after the hockey game. Fun atmosphere and friendly staff. Ordered the taco salad. Full of flavor and lots to eat. If you don't like it spicy I recommend you leave off the jalapeños.

Yelp
We arrived in a busy Saturday night. Table for three w no reservations. So we got on the waitlist and wandered around the busy channelside venue. Very family friendly outdoor area. With picnic tables and Adirondack chairs. A band was setting up but we got a text that our table was ready (about a 30 min wait). It is a very bustling restaurant with a large bar prominently in the middle of the room. Our waiter was quick with drinks from the bar. The margaritas were next level but pricey. I ordered a korean fusion taco combo. It was very spicy but to be fair the waiter warned me. Only downside was that it was very very loud so not great for conversation It would be a great place to take out of town guests or before an event at Amalie arena as it is walking distance. We parked at channelside parking garage and was a quick walk

Yelp
Jotoro is good for lunch! The first thing that caught my attention was the beautiful decor, creating a vibrant and inviting atmosphere. From the moment that I walked in, I knew I was in for a treat. Our server, Taren, was exceptional. She provided excellent service and went the extra mile by recommending some truly tasty options from the menu. Her knowledge and enthusiasm added to the overall dining experience, making us feel well taken care of. We started our meal with some refreshing drinks. The Spicy Peyote, made with jalapeno-infused reposado tequila, 400 Conejos Mezcal, chili liqueur, lime, and muddled pineapple, had a kick of spice that was balanced perfectly. The El Luchador, a delightful concoction of E Tesoro Blanco, citrus ginger kombucha, Cointreau Nair, fresh lime, and agave, offered a refreshing and citrusy twist. Moving on to the main course, we ordered the Chicken Fundido burrito and the Chicken enchiladas Suizas. The chicken fundibo Burrito was a flavor explosion, filled with chipotle chicken, queso fundido, rice, beans, pickled onion, crema, pico, and a tantalizing hot sauce drizzle. However, we felt that the dish could have had more chicken and less beans to truly enhance the flavors. On the other hand, the Chicken Enchiladas were a delight, with chargrilled chicken, salsa verde, crema, and melted cheese creating a satisfying and savory experience. Each bite was packed with a perfect combination of textures and flavors. The chicken enchiladas Suizas were equally delicious, featuring chargrilled chicken, salsa verde, crema, ano melted cheese. The dish was comforting and satisfying. The bar in the middle added a lively touch to the restaurant's ambiance, while the murals on the walls added a unique and artistic element to the overall decor. It's clear that attention to detail was given in creating a visually appealing space.

Yelp
Our server (David V was listed on the rcpt) was absolutely amazing. Food was absolutely delicious and fresh. My watermelon margarita was ok I wasn't a fan. It didn't taste like watermelon at all. My niece liked her drink. Ambience was nice! We will definitely come back!! I would have given it 5 stars had it not been for my drink. ** update the server surprised me and remade me drink! It was great, and so nice of him to do it without asking!
google avatar

Yelp
I can't speak to the food but the cocktails were great! The bartender kept us company most of the night making us try various cocktails he came up with. Overall, good place to hang out for after dinner drinks/cocktails.

Yelp
We've wanted to try this place for a while as JoToro presents itself as a vibrant, modern Mexican eatery, but unfortunately, it falls short on multiple fronts. The service by Bryanna J. was lackluster and she seemed disinterested in providing a pleasant dining experience. When she brought waters for everyone, she stood over my husband and kept giving waters to him to disburse to the rest of our party. The food quality was merely average, lacking the authentic flavors and creativity that one would expect from a Mexican restaurant. Birria tacos were so greasy, my son only ate 1 out of 2. When we ordered mojo pork burrito (which was extremely salty) we specifically asked for a side of rice and beans. When the food arrived and we asked where the side was, Bryanna replied: "Oh, it's inside the burrito..." Chips and guacamole were the best items we ordered. Drinks were pretty good, but my husband had to ask for 2nd margarita with salt on the rim as the first one was served without the salt. To add to that, I ordered a Spicy Watermelon margarita (minus the spiciness, just a regular watermelon margarita), and was charged for a Skinny Superior + upcharge for watermelon flavor instead without given a heads up. Additionally, the high prices did not reflect the quality of the items served, making the overall dining experience feel overpriced and disappointing. Another displeasing factor was also that server charged us 18% gratuity for 7 of us even though 3 out of 7 were kids. For the amount we spent, the bill was simply not worth it. Regrettably, JoToro does not live up to the hype and we will not be coming back.

Yelp
I had the shrimp Cobb salad! Wow! The salad was oozing with flavor! I wanted another the next day! I tried my husband's burrito and it was delicious!!! Definitely could have two meals with it!! I wish I had the waitresses name because I'd give her a shout-out!! She was fantastic, especially dealing with a table of 12! My niece turned 21 that night and they gave her a free shot of tequila! Definately will be back!!!!
google avatar

Jake W.

Yelp
The wait staff is fast friendly and make great recommendations. The drinks are delicious and if you like palomas definitely order theirs! It's very good. Had the chicken nachos which is a ton of food, can share with the table or stuff yourself. The bbq burrito is delicious, a little dry so ask for a side of sauce. Smothered Chicken burrito will be 2 meals! It's huge and extremely filling. If you sit inside it's a really cool atmosphere, outside is gorgeous but loud because it is at sparkmans warf. Fantastic Mexican fusion restaurant!
google avatar

Yelp
Came here for my birthday and everything was chefs kiss. Perfect for a date night or drinks with friends. I highly recommend the flight, trying a couple of drinks was fun versus ordering one you aren't sure you'll like. The birria quesadilla was amazing. Service was pretty good, wouldn't say exceptional but good.

J H.

Yelp
Cool place; waterfront area just blocks from Amalie Arena. We had 3 amigos (chips and dips), steak fajitas, birria tacos, and Mexican corn. I also had a spicy frozen margarita. Everything was good. The fajitas were great. Cilantro on top is always a hit. Matt gave a great once over of the menu and made outstanding recommendations. No duds, and it was game night, so it was getting pretty lively as we were finishing.
google avatar

Taryn C.

Yelp
The food at Jotoro was AMAZING! They had a delicious margarita flight which is perfect for someone like me who can never decide on what they would like to drink. Their shrimp tacos were good and their chips queso, guacamole, and salsa were even better. I loved the ambiance here being right next to the wharf and with great outside seating to watch the sunset. The service was also attentive and super sweet. A little pricey for Mexican but the quality is great.

Yelp
Jortoro holds a special place in my heart as one of the first places I tried when I moved to Tampa, and it has remained a go-to spot for me even after two years. The staff here is truly wonderful, always creating a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. The margaritas and food at Jortoro are absolutely to die for! The perfect blend of flavors and quality ingredients make every visit memorable. Located in Sparkman Wharf, it's the ideal spot to spend a whole evening enjoying great food, fantastic margaritas, and a lively atmosphere. Jortoro never disappoints!

Yelp
First time here. Start off our server was amazing. We had the chips with cheese sauce guacamole and salsa. Chips were nice and all three dips were great. Got the Korean tacos. Meat cooked nicely and had a ton of flavor. It had a fried taco shell which was a nice surprise. The dipping sauce had a ton of flavor. We also got the chicken quesadilla. They were huge and tasted great. Will def be back

Yelp
It's my first time in Tampa and me and my friends wanted to go somewhere for drinks after the UFC fight so we came her and let me tell you, Maggie was one of the best bartends I've ever had the pleasure of dining with and she makes a killer margarita!!! Definitely recommend JoToro 10/10!!!

Yelp
Pros: ambience & food presentation... the burrito is our favorite, the tacos were good flavoring as well just need more protein.. Cons: salad... not good, i had the chicken one, basically one small breast sliced up, a qtr of an avocado sliced up over a bed of cabbage .. little bit of pico and some pickled red onions.. in a tortilla shell... no no no... so so tart and not much of anything (no cheese, no beans, no substance) ... i would stay away from getting a salad here .. for $18, i would expect a bit more protein than a small amount of chicken & a qtr avocado.. Maybe just come here for the alcohol, we didn't have any but those seem to be the go to for a place like this...

Yelp
Amazing experience! The food is typical mexican food but more elevated. Vibe was amazing! We were celebrating my friend's bday and we got to have really good mimosas and free Lemom Drop shots. Give it a try! Service was out of this world! Our servers were Jake and Taryn!

Yelp
We were in the area trying to get to a a restaurant without a reservation because this was not planned! I've seen this restaurant all over my instagram, so we decided to give it a try, I'm a huge fan of Mexican food, so I'm a little picky on where I get my Mexican food, we started with some drinks, I had the skinny margarita it was pretty decent, they used good tequila in it so I was happy with it!! Then we rated with our appetizers, guac was alright, not the best one but it was okay, the queso was very good, I fell in love with it. Then it was time for our entrees, I got the enchiladas with pork al mojo and they were INCREDIBLE! Like if you haven't try this enchiladas you have to, the seasoning, the sauce, everything was on point, my boyfriend got a wet burrito with chicken which was very good also but more in the spicy side, we also ordered some shrimp tacos because we read on Yelp they were very good! So we had to try them! And they were great the only thing it's that they were a little spicy for people that does not eat spicy at all, I can handle it but not everyone does! That's why I'm not giving the 5 stars because there is a couple things on the menu that are spicy and they don't give you the heads up about. Service and ambience was actually pretty good, they were a little crowded but our waiter did a great job taking care of us! We are coming back to get some chips and queso for sure!
google avatar

Valeriya B.

Yelp
I love to come here for their rotating seasonal drinks. They always have something new and unique to try, and their tequila menu has a little bit of everything. If you come here, you have to get the spoon bread. It's sweet and spicy and has a super soft texture, almost like bread pudding. The ambiance is energetic and their patio is dog-friendly, which is always a plus.

Yelp
Amazing service every time we come and the food just keeps getting better! Their jalapeño spoon bread and fajitas are to die for. Highly recommend This is their chicken fundito burrito we got last time we were here
google avatar

Laur L.

Yelp
This spot is a fusion Mexican-Korean place. Get their street corn--perfectly roasted and seasoned. I also loved their shrimp salad, with a perfect ratio of finely chopped ingredients. Their Michelada was a bit diluted so I'd get it without ice next time. Also tried a bite of my mama's tacos and the chicken was grilled perfectly. Omnomnom
google avatar

Hannah A.

Yelp
YUMMM! Best Mexican cuisine in the Tampa area. Their guac is amazing and they have an awesome selection of tacos & enchiladas. I got the tempura fish tacos and they were perfectly crunchy and seasoned. Their burritos are HUGE so definitely come hungry :)

Yelp
Star was the best server! She taught us about the different tequilas and was so helpful and fun. We were there to celebrate my birthday and she made it super special Thank you!

Yelp
Service at the bar was slow, like super slow, and the bartender didn't seem to care. The drinks were overly disappointing also. I'd avoid this place.

Linda R.

Yelp
Oh my gosh! Eat here! Service was excellent. Fun space with acceptable noise level on the music. Food was absolutely delicious. Best chips and salsa I've ever had in Florida. We all had tacos. Grilled shrimp with pickled red onions, micro greens and shredded lettuce featured perfectly grilled shrimp and fresh corn tortillas. The birria tacos were in crispy shells, the meat tender and saucy with additional dipping sauce. Messy but amazing. Highly recommend JoToro for a memorable Mexican meal.
google avatar

Shari Z.

Yelp
We stopped in for an appetizer and had taquitos. there was three chicken taquitos for $13 thought it was a bit expensive even though they were good. He had a beer and I had a margarita which was delicious. Our service was excellent.
google avatar

Correy H.

Yelp
Solid fast service and great food. Just around the corner from the Tampa Bay Aquarium and located in the heart of the Sparkman Wharf, JoToro offers great tex-mex dishes. I visited with a large group during lunch and sampled a few items --- and I have to say that if JoToro marks an item 'favorite/specialty' on the menu then order it. They will not steer you wrong. The place is very family friendly with lots of high-chairs, etc..

Yelp
We arrived on a Saturday night around 5:45 without a reservation. This was a busy concert Saturday night at nearby Amalie Arena-the area was crawling with people-and they took in our group of six right away. I'm already in love! Our server came right after the first two of us were seated, to see what we wanted before the other four arrived. She was so nice! The place got busier and busier, but she was so attentive-and always seemed to appear just when we needed her. At the end of the meal, she mentioned the 18% gratuity that was automatically added to our checks because we were a party of six. I so appreciated that! I could have missed it-being three margaritas in. How have I not mentioned the food before this? We all ordered something different and everyone loved their dishes. I ordered the chicken verde enchiladas. They were so flavorful and very filling. I didn't need the extra rice (rice and beans are an extra $4) but wow, was it good! (Not dry at all and it came with extra fixins/spices). Oh! We also shared the chips and dips trio-which came with salsa, cheese and guacamole. The chips were light and not too salty or greasy and the dips were fresh and tasty. This app was the perfect amount for six-and prevented me from filling up on chips before the mains came. But heads up: they won't bring complimentary chips and salsa-that runs $6 (as of August 2023). Drinks anyone? The cocktail menu is tempting, tasty and extensive. They have flights-which I didn't notice until the end. But it was a big night for us-heading to Earth, Wind and Fire and Lionel Richie after dinner-so why not three full-sized margs?! I started with the prickly pear-which was gorgeous, refreshing and got sweeter as it went (yummy, though!). Then, it was on to the "the bull"... which was swimming pool blue, strong and very raspberry-but also refreshing. It was very celebratory! I finished with the skinny marg-which may have been an attempt at balance. It was another winner. Altogether, this was the perfect concert setup. I'd definitely come here before events at Amalie again. It's right across the street from the Channelside parking garage-in, I believe, the old Hooter's location. It's a short walk to Amalie-and right there at Sparkman's Wharf, so you can wander around there, too. But I'd head back here first-to try more of the menu and soak up the cool ambiance. Cheers, friends!

Yelp
Food was incredible! We had the chips and salsa and the seasoning on the chips were crack - I pretty much ate the whole bowl! The vegan enchilada was literally some of the best food I've ever had. Insane food and great vibes!

Yelp
We decided to try JoToro the last minute. We had the Barrie Tacos and they had great flavor. The service was exceptional. The ambiance was nice, situated beside Sparkman Wharf by the water. Overall, we had a great executive.

Yelp
We've been planning to visit this restaurant for a while. Unfortunately, we were extremely disappointed. The menu items are extremely expensive for the quality. I ordered the spicy watermelon margarita, which was okay. A lot of flavor, but little alcohol. My wife ordered the Paloma, which she said was extremely sweet. We ordered the shrimp and chicken tacos. Both orders were pretty good, great charred flavor. My order the steak tacos which were extremely cold. She immediately sent them back. The rice tasted like it was from a box, and the beans tasted like they were from a can. I was told they don't serve fajitas on the weekend. REALLY, what mexican restaurant don't serve fajitas on the weekend. Red flag. Overall disappointed and I will never attend this restaurant. The only good item was the chicken and shrimp tacos.

Yelp
It's been a while since we've visited this spot. Over the past few years we'd noticed the price increases and had stayed away after a lackluster visit a couple of years ago. So happy we returned. The margaritas were a bit larger and the salads were amazing. We enjoyed the patio with our pup and our waiter was willing to substitute marinated tofu for the shrimp on my Mexican Cobb salad. Great service and quality ingredients. Definitely glad we visited again.

Yelp
JoToro has good drinks. It is in a great area of Channelside/The Wharf and they have decent variety of drinks on the menu. I recommend the mangonada. The food could use some work, but we had an enjoyable experience regardless. I would return for the drinks!

Yelp
We stopped in for a quick drink, no food. Sat at the bar. Jake was our bartender. Made us 2 very good cocktails. He was very pleasant & gave us lots of info on the Sparkman Wharf happenings for the weekend.

Yelp
We visited JoToro this past weekend with family and friends - it was a nice little lunch since we were already in the Sparksman Wharf area. There are a lot of different food offerings in this area and it's nice to have options - JoToro is one of the few places that has the "dine-in" option, which is why we chose to eat here, since most of the other spots are walk-up restaurants. It was a beautiful day outside, so we chose to sit out on the patio area. It wasn't too crowded or loud by any means - there were a bunch of pups out on the patio area, so it's worth noting that this place is dog friendly (which my daughter absolutely loved lol) Our server was Amanda - she was super nice and attentive to all of our requests. I ordered the margarita flight (the mangonada margarita is my favorite) - for food we ordered the three amigos as an app, this comes with salsa, guac, and queso; the quac was really, really tasty. I ordered the birria tacos for my meal - I love birria, this one was pretty middle of the road - the consomme had a bit of sweetness to it that I'm not particularly fond of, it still tasted good and it was nice to try a different tasting birria, but probably not one of my favorites. This is a great little spot in downtown, especially near the wharf since most of the spots are grab-and-go outdoor seating style.

Yelp
Stepped into this local Tampa restaurant on Valentine's Day for a cocktails and a nice meal. Everyone was very friendly, from the staff that sat us to the amazing waitress. The place has a chill vibe with a trendy Mexican joint feel. They have some items that are Mexican - Korean Fusion. Jacob had the Mojo Pork Enchiladas that had a robust flavor of spices and cheese with the most tender pork. Oh yeah, I had some. I had the Chicken Fundido Burrito and I was super empresses with the chicken, cheese and Smokey sauce on top. That combined with the fresh cilantro and pickled onions on top made this a flavor burst of uniqueness. We added the spicy elote corn on the side and it was actually the best elote I've ever had. I liked the spiciness with the light grill on the fresh cut off the cob corn. Don't skip the margarita's. They have a great craft selection that really is fun, flavorful and pack a punch.

Yelp
We went here before going to a concert at Amelia Atena. Super busy on a Saturday. Wait was going to be 1.5 hours. We walked around the bar and waited about 10 min and got 2 seats and then several more opened up shortly after. We got the fish tacos and the Mexican corn nachos. I had a margarita as well. Drink and food was really good. Would recommend for locations and food. It is a bit pricey for Mexican but that's due to Channelside location. Everyone was very friendly.

Yelp
Quick and friendly service. All the food was delicious as well. They have multiple margarita flight options to choose from in case you want to try a variety of flavors. Plenty of seating, both indoor and outdoor. Even though it was busy, it never got too loud
