"Jubans is a place to get pampered with over-the-top service and food to match. For years, it flitted along among its Baton Rouge fine-dining peers like Mansurs on the Boulevard and the Gregory, but after a reinvention in 2022, it sails past them. Chef Chris Motto’s new dishes, like the fried oyster Rockefeller, cauliflower crab and brie soup, charred corn arancini, Louisiana Two Birds, and Hallelujah crab represent a fresh take on Louisiana cooking: familiar ingredients with advanced techniques, always full of flavor. Your special occasion restaurant awaits." - Clair Lorell

Came on a recommendation of a friend. Atmosphere and service were top notch. Food was good but not elite. The wedge salad did not have enough blue cheese. The tuna appetizer was excellent. Highly recommended. The hallelujah soft shell crab, which seems like their signature dish was just so-so. Soft shell crab was very fresh but I think they only give you half a soft shell crab. The mashed potatoes doesn't go well with the crab. Perhaps if it came with a crab meat risotto, it would make the dish stand out more. The pecan bread pudding tasted a little stale, dry and it came out mouth burning. They microwaved it a little too long.

Talk about an incredible dining experience...the dining areas are all themed beautifully, the service here is some of the best I've ever had, and the food....where do I even get started on the food! It was all so delicious and flavorful, and perfectly cooked. I cant wait to come back again!

We went to Juban’s last night for the first time, and we will 100% be back. Juban’s exceeded all expectations with its impeccable service, exquisite presentation, and flavors that left a lasting impression. We ordered for appetizer the Blue Crab Lollipops and Crawfish Wontons, and for main the Lobster 2 Ways and Redfish Adrian. Everything was spot on! It was my wife’s Birthday so they made her feel special with the Praline bread pudding to end the night. The restaurant effortlessly blends sophistication with comfort, making it the perfect spot for an upscale dining experience.

I proposed to my now fiance few days a go. Stuff was very flexible with my reservation, my custom dessert was made with love and I cannot emphasize how good the food is. Very beautiful place, not very crowded… but still fill the ambiance. Stuff smiling and being present all the time! My proposal will be forever memorable because of your help. FYI: I’m from Denver and did not know anything about BR other that my fiance. The restaurant really helped me. Please consider this place

Google
One of the best in Baton Rouge. Great for just about any occasion - regular dining, business lunch and learns, very accommodating and good central location. Sprawling venue - nice buildout. Food and service is always wonderful. Oysters Rockefeller amazing. Steak and fish entrees hard to go wrong.

My girlfriends and I decided to do brunch here, and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere was great and the live band made it special. The food was delicious 😋 and the mimosa bar was different, offering fresh berries and 3 different juice options. The customer service was on point, and the white linen tablecloths gave the place an upscale touch. It's definitely somewhere to go for a classy brunch or romantic dinner date. I'll definitely be returning ☺️. Also, remember to make reservations as this place is quite popular.

Google
The food & atmosphere were really outstanding. The wine service, not so much. A nice Chardonnay with seafood in the summertime can be pleasant, but the $50-$200 price range seemed a little out of step. To make matters worse, they didn't have a chilled one, so we had to wait on it to cool off. And lastly, they brought the dessert before the espresso was ready, and when it finally arrived, it was cold. We'll go back, but little things detract. Based on the other reviews, I'm sure it'll be worth another try. Again, the food itself really good.

Google
I've dined at Jubans many times over the years. Beware when you order a "well" drink. They didn't tell us there was no well brand and for a double Scotch & water we were charged $32!! The manager refused to do anything and it took 2 emails to get a response from someone who also refused to do anything. Since the food was underwhelming and we like to enjoy a cocktail with our meal, we won't be going back.

Yelp
Cheers to my second time coming to Juban's for the Jazz Brunch! This is definitely a hot spot for brunch on Sunday, so be sure to get a reservation. It's really a special atmosphere with the Second Line band and it has the feeling of being an elevated New Orleans cafe in the French quarter. This is why I brought my mom here for her birthday. So, the second experience was great, but the front desk was completely unorganized. We checked into our reservation, but we were seated much after several other parties arrived. We had to remind the hostess several times that we were waiting. Once we were seated, we our waitress was over to take our order. We ordeed the Second Line cocktail which was strawberry puree, tequila, & champagne. It was okay, I wouldn't necessarily order it again. For our appetizer, we tried the blue crab lollipops. It's basically a stuffed and fried blue crab claw with corn Maque! 10 out of 10! I could eat those all day! For our entrees, we ordered the Hallelujah Softshell crab, the BBQ shrimp & grits, and the Breakfast burger. The food was good overall, but the portions on the Shrimp and grits was really small! The Hallelujah was stuffed with so much seafood and I would recommend it! Other than the front lobby/hostess situation, the overall experience was great! I just wish they would have done something nice for my mom's birthday. Like last time they brought out complimentary cotton candy. That would have been nice.

Yelp
Juban's is one of my favorites in Baton Rouge. Went here for brunch with a friend. The crab cakes had to be the best I ever had! We tried the breakfast burger, that was really good too! Service is always great!! And the ambiance was amazing. They had a live band and it was giving all the brunch vibes needed! Saturday/Sunday brunch..10/10 would recommend!

Jayla A.

Yelp
This was my first time and definitely NOT my last dining at Jubans. I throughly enjoyed dinner and our server was very patient and attentive. I highly recommend the crawfish wontons and blue crab lollipops! I will admit we didn't care for the bread service but everything else was great. I found the bread to be a tad tough/hard. I highly recommend Jubans for special occasions. The seating areas are unique and cozy. There's a lovely ambiance overall.

Angela W.

Yelp
I ate here on a Sunday night. The restaurant is large but there were not many people dining here this particular night. Had the Hallelujah Crab. It was very yummy. The staff was very friendly and if I come to BR.... I would definitely comeback.

Adam B.

Yelp
Food and service was great. We had a table for 2 in a room with a larger table. That would be my only complaint is that we were placed next to a larger party in a side room and we didn't know them. It was a little awkward at first. But ended up not being bad. I would request a different table if that happened again. But it would not stop me from going back.

Ashley E.

Yelp
Perfect spot for date night. We drove from New Orleans to check it out and had a fantastic evening. Check out the photo booth!

Yelp
100/10 service!! a very romantic place, each room of the restaurant has a different vibe but equally aesthetically pleasing. The food tied the bow together as it was amazingly well done by the chefs. The boudin dip was an amazing start to our dinner (really set a precedent for how the rest of the food taste). The Louisiana Two Bird was to dieeee for (always get quail if it's on the menu) juicy and flavorful bird. the salmon was medium rare as we asked.

Lindsey L.

Yelp
Food was amazing, our server was a little forgetful but overall great experience! Good place for a birthday dinner as a couple

Christie D.

Yelp
Finally tried the boudin dip here that everyone talks about and it was delicious! I highly recommend it for an appetizer. I also ordered some bread for the table and was shocked to later find out that they no longer do the complimentary loaf of warm french bread. I ordered bread and received what is called the bread service under appetizers on the menu. This was bread that came with three different types of whipped butters. When I asked the waiter what they were, he said strawberry, chocolate, and crab boil. These butters were not good and the bread was hard. It was not worth the price for sure. For a cocktail, I tried the black magic woman which was whiskey, amaro, lime, cane sugar, ginger beer, blackberry, and mint. So refreshing and definitely my new favorite cocktail here. For my entree, I had to order the hallelujah crab since I love soft-shell crab. This fried soft-shell crab came stuffed with a seafood stuffing over mashed potatoes and was topped with a creolaise sauce. The sauce, potatoes, and seafood stuffing were so good. The stuffing had tons of shrimp in it. I was disappointed though with the fried crab. Mine was missing legs which are my favorite and the body wasn't completely soft. I had to waste some of the body because it was too tough to eat. I don't plan to order this dish again anytime soon.

Yelp
Came here for an anniversary date and had to write down how great it was! Our server was amazing, she kept our table clean, glasses filled, and gave us recommendations. One of them was the crab cauliflower and brie soup, which was my boyfriend's favorite by far. He wouldn't stop talking about how good it was! An appetizer we got were the mussels, for 18 bucks we had a good amount of mussels! I was really surprised by how much it came with. The mussels were good, only thing is the bigger mussels will be a little fishier and grainy. We also had the bread and butter, and it came with three different whipped butters. All different flavors from sweet, savory, and even a little spice. The bread was a little too stiff for us. For entree we had the duck, and we loved it so much! The side it came with was a mix of sweet potatoes, sausage, and bell peppers all diced up together. (We probably ate all of this before the duck.) We were hesitant to try duck because we've only had it the Chinese way hahah, but it changed our minds! I have a hard time liking creole fine dining places bc majority of the time it's insanely salty, but this was perfect. Also have to say how incredibly beautiful the place is! each room is a little different, but the attention to detail makes it wonderful. Definitely a place I'll recommend for date nights or fine dining in general!

Abbey S.

Yelp
I came with my boyfriend for his birthday and it was great! The hosts and our waiters all made sure to tell him happy birthday multiple times and were all very nice. Our food was great and fresh! The Christmas drinks were also so good. I was so glad we came around Christmas time because the decorations were beautiful and it felt so cozy inside. It was pretty quiet too even though the restaurant was pretty full; great for a special occasion dinner or date night. I can't wait to come back!

Lacey D.

Yelp
I have nothing bad to say about my experience at Jubans. The service was wonderful, the atmosphere was pretty and relaxing, and the food was delicious. The boudin dip and crab claw appetizers were very flavorful. The steak was tender and cooked perfectly. The chicken dish with risotto was perfection. I look forward to coming back!

Britt R.

Yelp
Runnnnn here, the service is always pristine... I've been on different days and time, all of the bartenders can make thee hell out of a drink. Abigail made this beauty here and I don't want to go home lol. The food was so good, the fish and crab was seasoned to perfection

Emily D.

Yelp
This review is only for my experience at Juban's during lunch and enjoying eats and beverages off of the lunch specials menu. First impression - this place is both somehow classy, elegant, and funky at the same time. It's cute! There are a variety of tables that include comfy benches or just chairs. It's light and bright with mirrors on the walls - very welcoming. Arriving at 12:30pm on a Friday, the main dining room when you walk in was buzzing with chatter and happy guests - all good signs! Food - I ordered the soup (cauliflower carb and brie soup) and salad combo (sensation salad) and both were tasty. The soup in particular was amazing with large chunks of crab meat. The good/bad news is that it was certainly real crab as there were some shell pieces in mine (part of why this is a 4-star rating). Womp womp. The salad was good, but not mindblowingly so. For the price of $15 for the combo, I felt my money was well-spent. Drinks - OMG! During lunch, there are three drink specials that you can order for only 25 CENTS (limit 2)! I was thinking that they would be small, weak drinks, but no - these are legit drinks that make me wonder how you could have more than two and not stumble out of there (which would very much not be classy!). I had the French 75 and it was one of the best that I've had - the balance was right on and just - wow - amazing for the price. Service - the service here was absolutely amazing! Hands down one of the best that I've experienced in Baton Rouge. Shout out to Jasmine in particular, who was kind, funny, and just a true delight to be around. I'd love to go back again, especially for their jazz brunch!

Elizabeth T.

Yelp
Love Jubans for a family celebration with a party of 12 down to an intimate evening for two. This is the place to go for excellent food and top notch service. Beautiful bar and lovely atmosphere

Tony L.

Yelp
I'll keep this super plain and simple. This was my last restaurant to go to for restaurant week, and man, it blew me away! Everything from start to finish was on point! #tonylameats #batonrougela #jubansrestaurant #steak

Yelp
I visited jubans on two occasions one for dinner + once for brunch. The cinnamon rolls ($12) were great. They have a pinch of orange in them which was surprising BUT we're tasty nonetheless. The mimosa ($10) was nice. They do a jazz brunch on Sundays it's very entertaining and nice. They come around with a bucket for tips as they play. The dinner I had was great. They give off very romantic vibes during dinner. Very lowly lit, soft music and they have enough room to give you space from other groups. The salmon was okay. To me it wasn't as seasoned I don't think it's on the menu any more. It came with some sauce some ratatouille and steamed spinach which was pretty seasoned. The louisiana two birds was seasoned it has boudin inside which was good. The potatoes were not good very oily. Fresh bread on the table with butter which was good. I'm not sure of the prices but I'm sure it lines with the menu. I was on a date for this visit and did not pay. They give cotton candy at the end of the meal which was nice! Service is ALWAYS prompt here. Prompt and pleasant. Would definitely recommend. But know it can get pricy so if you're on a budget watch what you get! Their drinks are be $20 a piece.

Masey D.

Yelp
Lobster over cooked so it was slightly rubbery but the Mr. Blue Sky was a delicious cocktail. We had Charlie as our server and he did a fine job. We had a reservation and still waited about 20 minutes because it looked as though they overbooked. Overall was an okay experience.

Kiersten B.

Yelp
Someone help me i have fallen deeply inlove with JUBANS! OMG. Everything here is amazing, the staff, the drinks, the food the ambiance. I hope they never get rid of the jazz brunch. Coming through those double doors and hearing such lively jazz made my little creole heart flutter! The food is TOP NOTCH. More than worth it. I tried a little of everything since i was with a big party EVERYTHING was 10s across the board. My favorite was the fish and grits with the crab fingers. Voodoo child is my favorite cocktail! Cute spot for any occasion. I'm literally dragging everyone i know here when they let me pick the place LOL. By far my favorite in the capital city. I LOVE U JUBANS! Keep up the great work

Bryan A.

Yelp
This is my go to joint while in Baton Rouge. The food is always fantastic and the cocktails are NOLA worthy! Very tasty!

Amber J.

Yelp
Juban's offers all the great qualities a restaurant should possess, picturesque scenes, extraordinary service, and most of all excellent food. I attended this restaurant for a friend's birthday dinner and it was a night to remember. There are small rooms available to reserve for a large party which is great for a small celebration. Our waiters were fantastic. They displayed positive energy and patience for a such a large party. I ordered the hallelujah crab which had a nice presentation. Overall my meal was delicious with all the right flavors but if you aren't a fan of horseradish ask them to eliminate the sauce listed on the menu. I will definitely visit again soon.

Ambernique M.

Yelp
Amazing atmosphere, service was 10/10! Good was amazing. I only been once but I plan on revisiting. I tried the hallelujah crab , Caesar salad and the sweet potato with caramel for dessert. French 75 was a hit and strong

Andrea P.

Yelp
Delicious southern food! Every time it's a great idea for lunch, dinner, or brunch. Great drinks and the service is true hospitality. Beautiful renovations - Instagram worthy photo backdrop at every corner!

Jeff H.

Yelp
I have been to Juban's multiple times. It doesn't look like much from the outside (strip mall) but once you are inside the place. It is fantastic. Multiple dining rooms, each the their own theme and character. Food was outstanding, but the hard part is finding what to pick. The Hallelujah Crab is always on the menu and definitely good, but so are a lot of things. Great service.

Tanya A.

Yelp
We celebrated our anniversary at Juban's and it was a great choice. Our waitress Hanna and waiter Blaise were extraordinary and explained every dish with details. We started with a boudin dip and it was delicious! I ordered "chicken clemenceau" and it has the best risotto, chicken was soft and juicy. My husband had a filet and was very pleased. Our servers surprised us with a dessert, cheesecake, and it was exquisite! We would definitely be back to Juban's.

Breaynn T.

Yelp
Juban's is a beautiful restaurant with lots of photo opps, colorful walls, pretty bathrooms, and even a photo booth! Juban's was chosen as the spot for our annual luncheon. Their was a set menu and the process of coming in and choosing your entree was so easy. Champagne was passed around and set a nice ambiance. The drinks are absolutely divine (lemon drop martinis on point). The gumbo was a bit Smokey. We weren't able to customize how our filet's were cooked, so they were all brought out cooked different. Unfortunately, mine was medium well. Others in the photos were closed to medium rare-medium. The crab meat on top was great!! So flavorful. The veggies were also great. The praline bread pudding was brought out for dessert. Very good! Service was great. Bartenders and servers were so attentive and made this event a great time for everyone involved!

Erin W.

Yelp
Everything I tried was amazing. I enjoyed the wedge salad, the crab Rangoon, and the boudin dip was one of my favorites. Went for a birthday party and they were very accommodating.. just of course make sure to make reservations! Very well versed staff that was amazing.

Brennan H.

Yelp
We went and ate at Jubans tonight. I haven't been here in about 6 years but i remember 6 years ago as one of my most favorite food experiences of my life. The food and service was amazing 6 years ago. Tonight was no where near the experience I had 6 years ago. Tonight was the worst service I have ever experienced. The appetizer was the only thing worth the money. The steak was extremely tough, more tough then a Walmart steak. Honestly a grocery store steak would've been 1/6 the price and ten times the experience. Jubans is not the restaurant it once was but I guess the uppity folk that dress up and eat here don't know any better. Stay home, cook a steak at home!

Jim B.

Yelp
This place was recommended to me and it was a great one. Best restaurant I've been to in Baton Rouge! Check out my salad which had crawfish, bacon and a warm dressing. Amazing! The gumbo was fantastic too! I absolutely love the venue and will go back next time I'm in town.

Kristen G.

Yelp
For appetizers we ordered the boudin dip and crab toast. Both were delicious! We also ordered the sensation salad that had olives and tomatoes. The dressing is so delicious and is light and refreshing. For entrees we ordered the hallelujah crab, waygu burger and filet. The crab came with the tartar mash which were different but pretty good. The crab was a little salty but overall the stuffing was pretty good. The waygu burger had Gruyère cheese and dijon aioli on an onion roll with French fries. The burger was a little dry, but we didn't request extra condiments which would've helped. Overall it was a solid choice. For dessert we ordered the praline bread pudding and the cherries jubilee. The praline bread pudding was delicious and we ate every bite! The cherries jubilee had a cool presentation - they light the brandy on fire. But honestly - it was the worst part of our meal and I wouldn't recommend it. It wasn't a brandy sauce - just straight brandy and we couldn't enjoy the cookie or ice cream - we only tasted straight brandy with every bite. We love our alcohol as much as the next person, but we couldn't eat it. I'd recommend asking for no brandy - just the house made blondie and ice cream! This is our first time here since they've remodeled the restaurant - and the decor is stellar. Beautiful spot for brunch, lunch or dinner. Instagram worthy rooms!

Kevin C.

Yelp
Went to Juban's for Valentine's Day! We had been wanting to go ever since we heard Chris Motto was the head chef and the food did not disappoint. The menu doesn't have a huge selection, but all of the food we got was phenomenal. The rest of the experience was a little odd. I ordered a Vesper Martini off the drink menu which was Juban's take on the James Bond drink, but when I ordered a second one they gave me a completely different Vesper Martini. Music kept flip-flopping between radio and live music every 2 songs. Service was very mediocre and table set-up was a little strange. Recommend going for the food alone.

Richleen W.

Yelp
Visited on a Saturday for jazz brunch. We ordered the cinnamon toast crust French toast for an appetizer and it was amazing. Not too sweet and a perfect texture. There was a marscapone/cream cheese and blueberry compote served on the side. For my entree I got the hallelujah crab. It was amazing! One of the best things I've ever had! I highly recommend. The service was great as well. From the host to the wait staff zero complaints.

Kayren B.

Yelp
5 Stars for a Five Star Restaurant. Always excellent service, food & ambiance. Hallelujah Crab always Mom's favorite. Love sensation salad here, more than some others. Not sure if it's the dressing or cheese that's better tasting.

Jayme E.

Yelp
Service was ok I guess, had three people waiting on us and the left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing. This slowed the experience down. Food was below average for this price. Sautéed spinach was extremely salty, ribeye steak didn't have much flavor and was not the best cut. Atmosphere was nice. Not sure if I would go back because of the food and service confusion.

Kaitlyn L.

Yelp
Finally got to Jubans post renovations! It's BEAUTIFUL on the inside. I love the update!! It's very modern and pretty on the inside! When you sit down they bring bread and water. You also get 2 waiter's. One for food and one for drinks. I liked the process they had for this! Both our food waiter and drink waiter were very nice and helpful. For drinks, they have a great bar with a lot of options. I tried an expresso martini which was a little sweet but I liked it! They also have a nice wine list. For appetizers, the duck and Boursin crepe was heaven. Such a delicious and light appetizer. Very tasty and would definitely order again. I also tried the fried oysters Rockefeller. These were awesome! The presentation was great and the flavor was spot on! For an entree, I got the hallelujah crab. And yes, it lives up to the name. The presentation is spot on and the taste is amazing. I wish I could eat this everyday! Lol! The place is so good and a good place to go for special occasions! So happy Jubans is back in br!!

Claire M.

Yelp
Service and food was en pointe tonight. Respectfully, it's in poor taste to continue Mardi Gras cocktail menus and signage during Lent. Bartender gets an A+ for the French martinis!

Erica W.

Yelp
It's been a long time since we ate at Juban's so we decided to do a date night. I'm just thankful we split every course because in my opinion it wasn't fantastic food. The food is fairly overpriced for the flavors you are getting. The Mango Tasso Shrimp had no Tasso flavor but it was a light and fresh appetizer. The sensation salad was good. The Redfish Adrain was bland and just had an overall odd taste to it. The tartar that they add to the potatoes is a very unpleasant taste. The cherry jubilee dessert is not something you should order if you have kids. It was inedible to me due to the fact that it tasted nothing but strong rum and the blondies were very dry. Wish the flavors were better for being such an expensive place.

Joe S.

Yelp
Delicious food. Excellent service. Hope to come back again before going home. Great spot.

Teresa W.

Yelp
What a super fun & cool place for lunch or Dinner. From the moment you arrive till the minute you exit the building your catered to. Walked in and was Immediately greeted by a friendly and smiling hostess then was seated by another friendly person who upon seated me tell me that I would have two separate servers to serve me. Within less than a minute a server came to my table with ice water and took my beverage order which I ordered a French 75 cocktail, which by the way since it was lunch it was get this a whole quarter. Yep .25 cents, how cool is that and it was full throttle just as if you paid $15. While she was gone to get the cocktail someone brought me fresh bread and butter as he was walking away my beverage server sat my cocktail on the table, and she was fantastic server, she checked on me a few times. My food server came and took my food order. I ordered the cauliflower crab & Brie soup and it was not only presented by yet another person beautifully but it tasted amazing. For my main course I ordered the Fried Soft-shell crab BLT, it was delicious and at the end of the meal my server brought me a big serving of fresh Cotton Candy! I've been here many times but this is the first since they've opened up after Covid and the remodeling and it's just Beautiful inside. So stellar service delicious food beautiful surroundings what else could you want cotton candy to boot it's just a wonderful and fun place so come give them a try.your gonna love Juban's

Yelp
I used to always write positive reviews on Yelp. In recent times, things have gone south. What happened to training your wait staff, especially when you're in a fine dining establishment??? Our experience today for a friends birthday ranks up there with one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever encountered. Trying to communicate with our waitress/waitresses was painful. She could not comprehend simple questions. We never knew who to ask for help as nobody made it clear who the head waitress was for our group. We were never offered refills or asked if we wanted another cocktail. It was only a birthday party...The more drinks, the happier the party!! In a restaurant where your staff are trained properly, they know that when a soup is ordered and an entree that the soup is an appetizer. Our soups arrived with our food and were luke warm. The salads came slightly warm and with hardly no dressing at all. It took forever for the dressing to arrive when we asked for more. I sat with an empty cocktail glass for AT LEAST 30 minutes. The manager decided to come check on our table and not one person in our group could say anything positive. She was rude and short and did nothing to resolve the situation. Her staff actually treated us WORSE after her arrival at the table. I forgot to mention that someone in our group ordered a burger that came wayyyyyyy over cooked and the manager offered to fix it. Well, she never fixed it. They never cleared our plates. When it was time for the bill to arrive, the waitresses were nowhere to be found and would not even make eye contact with us. It sounds absurd, but 100% true. We had to track down the manager AGAIN who was very curt and not understanding in the slightest. Cardinal rule #1 in the service industry: The customer is always right. She did not care. Her staff still got their 20% gratuity. They did offer 25% off the bill. Too little too late. The restaurant is getting 2 stars for their decor and ambiance. Love it.

Yelp
Back in March, I made reservations here for my 1 year anniversary. I had heard so many good things about Juban's and even knew someone who worked there who vouched for how good it was. I'm so glad I made the decision to go there for such a special occasion because it is now one of my all-time favorite places. It had the best service, good, and ambiance I had ever experienced. The menu was so unique which also made it stick out to me than other high-end restaurants. The inside was also so nice but was also different from your average old nice places. I ordered the boudin dip to start which was recommended to me by someone I know who works there as well as the both of the two servers we had waiting on us that night. The boudin dip was so crazy amazing. I was a little skeptical only because it came with just basic plain crackers but they went perfectly with the dip. For my entree, I ordered the hallelujah crab with a side of mushroom risotto to split and my boyfriend ordered the ribeye. I cannot get over how good those dishes were!! My boyfriend is a huge fan of steak and absolutely loved his ribeye, as did I, but he said that my crab was one of the best he ever had and that he would get that the next time he comes. It was stuffed with a seafood stuffing which set it apart from other soft shell crabs. His steak was so tender and seasoned so well it was one of my favorite bites of the night. The mushroom risotto was divine and perfectly cooked. We ordered a few cocktails which were so refreshing and strong at the same time. The dessert we ordered was the sweet potato financier which was recommended to us by a friend and I was iffy because I don't even like sweet potatoes. I'm so glad I did because I can't even describe to you how good it was! From start to finish, this was an excellent meal. The server offered us warm towels for our hands and brought out complimentary bread. They did very well with recommendations and made sure we were tended to all night. If you are contemplating why here to come to Juban's, GO!!!!! It's a must try in Baton Rouge!

Yelp
Tuna appetizer was fantastic. Needless to say, seared diver scallops is MUAH! Finished with Bete Noire, rich and creamy. Service was attentive, perfect everything!

Yelp
Our room was very creative, with the Geaux tigers theme. Food was exquisite, with my favorites being the Fried Oyster Rockefeller and the salmon. The crab soup was delicious. The Mr. Blue Sky was an incredible drink. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu.

Yelp
I had the Boudin dip, Beet salad, Sweet potato dessert, and ribeye from Juban's. The steak was the best that I have ever had. The crust was amazing and they cooked it perfectly. The salad was refreshing and light, and the Boudin dip had incredible flavor. The dessert was genuinely the best that I ever had. I was speechless! Not to mention, we had the best service experience ever! Our server, Carter, was so nice and even gave us a free sample of soup (which was also incredible). The drinks are also phenomenal at Juban's, as well as the ambiance of the restaurant. It was well lit and had great design. My experience at Juban's was a 10/10 in all aspects. Highly recommend this amazing restaurant!!!

Yelp
Not Michelin rated but almost there. Very interesting and surprising and stunning taste and presentation. Would go back. Try the Rockefeller- different presentation and taste, love it!!! Visit and get ready for the experience.

Yelp
In town to visit family and my son made reservations for dinner. Having grown up in the Baton Rouge area I had never eaten at Jubans but my son followed the chef and wanted to check it out. Best service and food hands down. When Chef Chris Motto heard my son followed him through Hell's Kitchen, he came out and spent some time talking with us. What a great guy he was and very personable. Can't wait to return with my wife.

Yelp
This was our first time visiting Juban's and the experience was one for the books! I'll break it down for you: For appetizers we had the Crawfish Wontons and Fried Oyster Rockefeller. The Crawfish Wontons were literally fried to perfection, and the pepper jelly added so much flavor on top of flavor it was a 10/10. The Fried Oyster Rockefeller were delicious! That spinach underneath was so soft and creamy, paired with the crunch of the oysters and the Beurre Blanc... 10/10! For entrees, the Hallelujah Crab... I mean... no words can explain how great it is. The crab just melts away as you bite into it! The Creolaise Sauce drizzled in the backside of the shell.. amazing! The Tartar Mashed Potatoes were literally the best potatoes I've ever had in my life I promise you! The other entree was the Lobster Risotto and it was great! The ONLY bad thing I can say about it or anything overall is the rice was a little hard so for that I'll give it a 9/10 simply because it hit all the other qualities I needed. For drinks, we had the Mr. Blue Sky (8/10) and the Voodoo Child (9/10). Both were good, strong choices and we actually had 2 Voodoo's The staff was very polite, attentive, and knowledgeable about all the items we ordered and gave tips on how to make them better. They deserve a raise if they don't already have one! 10/10 on service. They created a great ambiance.

Yelp
We attended a wine dinner hosted by Juban's last week that was recommended to us by one of their servers, Benjamin, at a previous dinner. The wine and dinner were incredible. All courses paired perfectly with the wine selections. The service was impeccable. We were seated in a private room and it was so intimate and personal. The sommelier and chef went to each table personally to discuss the wines and food choices. I loved the entire experience. We're thankful that Ben recommended this event. We will definitely be attending future wine dinners at Juban's .

Yelp
Juban's has been a staple restaurant in BR for many, many years. We wanted to try the revamped menu as we heard great things! We started out with the Oyster Rockefeller appetizer - this is a must! Oysters were crispy paired with the creamed spinach and delicious sauce, you won't be disappointed. The cajun caviar that comes on the dish is fish eggs with a hint of spice. Overall an amazing dish! The pork ribeye was tender and juicy. The Two birds dish was good - the boudin was a tad on the spicy side but the fried quail was overall the best but such a small portion. Two of us ordered the chicken, duck, and andouille gumbo...it was extremely salty. Unbearably so. The depth of flavors were there but between the roux and salt levels, both dishes were left essentially untouched after a few bites. The ambiance is great but service was a tad slow. We sat there for 30 minutes without anyone coming up to the table. We were also celebrating a birthday and was never offered any dessert initially - we were even asked before seated whose birthday it was. For a birthday, it didn't feel special and where we were seated, there was too much commotion - servers walking by constantly, standing by the bar to get drinks - felt crowded.

Yelp
I have never been to the Jubans before it's big remodel but let me say they absolutely nailed the art deco vibe with the beautiful colors and retro vibe. However, when it came to the private rooms it was a little underwhelming. I was invited to my close friends engagement dinner and they had rented out a private room and did the Acadian 3 course dinner which is reasonably priced at $45 per person without tax. In regard to the room, it was very minimally decorated with just a tv at the far end. It was also quite cramped and gave the servers a bit of a hard time when distributing food and drinks. Lastly, I do also wish they had a coat/purse rack instead of having a server haul a chair into the corner of the room which made the space feel all the more cramped. The dinner started out with the sensation salad in which I forgot to take a picture of, but in all honestly the presentation was a little lackluster in my opinion. The taste was great, but nothing out of this world. For my main course, I chose the Pork Ribeye that was cooked to perfection with just the right amount of tenderness and char. I do wish there was a little bit more seasoning on the mashed potatoes but the juices from the pork and veggies paired beautifully with it so it really didn't matter. The dinner was finished with their Béte Noire which is a chocolate cake topped with a raspberry drizzle and chocolate mousse on the side. I loved it! It had such a rich and decadent flavor. Now I am not the biggest sweet tooth out there so I truly enjoyed it because it wasn't the type of sweet that causes a toothache(although I would prefer it without the raspberry drizzle.) Overall my experience at Jubans was wonderful! The servers were so sweet and the food was delicious. Will definitely be coming here again!
