Great beer selection for those who like something craft, but a beer and shot kind of bar as well. They have a popcorn machine too! Backyard has a handful of picnic tables so it's great for small to medium sized groups in the summer. Staff is friendly and funny, and it's a welcoming bar to new faces in the neighborhood so long as they act decent enough. They have weekly trivia and occasional events as well like food popups or themed parties - definitely a neighborhood staple!

I instantly fell in love with the vibe of this bar. It was just a tiny bit divey by my standards and I felt right at home. Drink prices were reasonable and there were some cool options. I wish there was a place like this closer to where I live because I would definitely be a regular.

$5 EVERYDAY happy hour on well drinks. No snacks besides popcorn, but they let you bring in outside food in case you get hungry. A must go to in Astoria!

Really loud, fun, down to earth spot. kinda divey, kinda not. they have hour hour specials everyday until about 7, with $5 drinks. Free popcorn. They also have a back patio! they have their own in house made cocktails. decent beer selection. fun art all over. clean bathrooms.

Since I just went to the Elite Yelp event @ 7 Street burger and just stopped into Wine and Spirits before heading home I noticed this spot with happy hour all day until 7p and decided to stop in. Great happy hour prices $5.00 wines, $5.00 16oz draft beers and $5.00 well drinks. Everyone is friendly was soon as you walk in, it's a nice dive bar plenty of seating nice and clean, playing good music.

The bathroom is questionable and the place gives a "hole in the wall" vibe but the bartenders are nice and the drinks are strong. I'd come back just for drinks!

An awesome dive bar that you would typically see in the East Village. The place is laid back and unpretentious. They have a happy hour special with $5 beers, but honestly, it's not even needed. Their beers are regularly $5-$7 as it is. There is a small outdoor seating area at the back as well and the bartender offers free popcorn to everyone. Overall, this is a nice spot to hit up after dinner.

Cool spot that's not pretentious at all with great prices and an awesome sound system. Shoutout to Dorothy for not skipping a single metal song on the jukebox despite Limp Bizkit being blasted in the 1a hour \m/

If you look up "dive bar" in the dictionary, you'll find a photo of this place right next to it...and that's a good thing! The music was popping, drinks flowing...all the good things! And the bathrooms were clean! Even deep into the night.

I've been coming here since I've relocated to this side of Astoria. This is such a cool gem in the area. The staff here is so friendly and make you feel welcomed. The drinks are great, best part HAPPY HOUR EVERY!! Hours may vary but you won't be disappointed. The music is pretty good. You get free popcorn, which is my favorite. You are able to bring outside food in if your feeling hungry. You must clean your mess!! Kole and Dina are chill.

Automatic good time. Old bay on the popcorn. Good company, good people all around. You can come in here and have a fun time no matter the situation. I will definitely be coming back.

The ambience is cleaner than the typical dive bar, yet not withholding the vibe that you would feel. Everyone is very welcoming and accepting and has a smile on their face. I walked up to the bar and was greeted by Dina, she was patient kind and super fun. I told her I wanted to order the giggle juice, she assured me that it would be tasty, and it was one of their most popular drinks. After I sipped, I clearly knew why. It was the perfect blend of bitter and sweet, with the addition of elderberry. I highly recommend trying this beverage and being served by Dina, her hospitality, and warmth were very inviting, and I would certainly visit this establishment again.

Came here to write a review about a rude bartender and saw that someone had already written a bad review about the same bartender - the one with glasses and a mustache. I don't expect stellar service from a dive bar, but the extremely straight faced, cold attitude isn't appreciated, especially when there are much better similarly priced bars on the same street. As a POC, I don't want to be treated like an outsider in my own damn neighborhood so thanks, but no thanks. I came here pretty frequently throughout 2020 but won't come back anymore.

Very nice tap list. Unfortunately, a few of the beers were unavailable during my visit. :( But, there were plenty of other selections to go around. Beer and liquor prices are pretty standard for the area. Judy & Punch seems like a divey, somewhat eclectic place where folks from the neighborhood can hang. It's a great place to meet up before grabbing dinner in the area or just to chill and toss back beers and ale.

Don't try to play anything on the jukebox, the staff will turn the volume down to zero. Every time. Unattentive bartenders, only interested in chatting away with their friends in the corner, ignoring empty glasses. Weak drinks, immature clientele, terrible music. Pass.

Best local spot in Astoria. Hands down best staff and they just opened another spot next door called Maggie Hall's. Go to both!

Decent dive bar in the 30th avenue area of Astoria. Super friendly staff and good music. On Thursdays they also have live music. My only complaint is that beer outside of happy hour is a little pricey, but other than that I really like this bar! By the way, happy hour is on weekdays from 4pm to 8pm. Also there's no kitchen so you can bring your own food and they also serve complimentary popcorn. No table service (which is not a problem for me) but keep that in mind.

It's Madam Maries but with popcorn! (I sure do wish they'd do the hot dogs here, too, though!) Anyway, J&P is an ol' stand-by for me at this rate. They've got a consistent Happy Hour deal every single day. You can get a $5 16 oz. beer, house wine, or well drink before 8PM. My only wish is that they would vary the beer options at both of their locations a bit more. (Then again, I do feel like J&P has more in the way of beer options than MM does.) You can get free popcorn (just ask!) and you can also sit outside in their small patio area. Jukebox for those who want to play their own music. Window seats looking out onto 30th Avenue also available.

How about Judy and the Blow Fish?! This place is off the charts...billboard style! Been here multiple times and here's the Mouse's review: For a dive bar, it's the place where you want to be. Every beer, every style, and all the smiles. I had the BEST Sour here since moving to NYC. The Grimm Sour is off the chain! Didn't get the bar tenders name, but he was so kind and took care of the entire bar/house. He even charged my phone! Excellent place for happy hour and after dinner drinks. Top place for drinks off 30th Ave.

Nice stop for a drink after a bike ride from Harlem! The beer "October fest" was good and homey flavored. The "blood orange cider" was a discovery! Waiter is nice ! Good spot !

Great place for happy hour, any day period. Bartender is friendly and attentive. I really love popcorn with the sprinkle of Old Bay seasoning. I'm addicted to it actually. Beer on tap is $5 during the happy hour which is 4-8pm I need to check out the trivia night on Tuesday and live music on Sunday night. This is my spot.

Great selection of beer on tap! The bartenders were really nice except one asked my friend to say her address and date of birth (she's 23 and the oldest in our group.. yikes !). The music isn't that great .. more of a soft techno vibe. We sampled a few glasses of beer ~ all ipa ~ all delish. My friend forgot his phone on a table in the outdoor area but we left around 9:56 (the outdoor area closes at 10). When we got back 20mins later, we asked the bartender if we could check outside.. he let us. The phone was still there! OHHH YEAAA. My 4 star rating might be bias bc of this situation but overall : wide selection of beer, not rowdy and popcorn!

What a cool little dive bar in Astoria! I first came here for happy hour on a Friday while visiting my best friend in NY. She frequents here often so I told her I'd give it a shot. The happy hour prices are pretty solid! From 4-8, wells and wines are $5 and they have select beers for $5 as well. I opted for a decent house cab. The price was right for a generous pour. They have quirky props and posters around the bar and it feels really comfortable for a weirdo like me. The bar popcorn is a nice touch, too. They put an awesome spice on it that made me get seconds.....and maybe thirds. We came back on a Saturday night - not as great. Super packed, impossible to get to the bar, and high prices. I definitely recommend happy hour over a late night trip. Cheers!

Came here after brunch on a Saturday as part of my tour de Astoria. It was nice enough out to sit in the back. They have 3 or 4 picnic benches/tables out back. They had a pretty decent beer selection. I started with a Stone enjoy by and had a Mezcal Negroni that was on their specials board. I love mezcal, but if you don't, this might be a good intro. The smoke wasn't overbearing and it was a very well balanced drink. The bartender was very friendly. Plus they server popcorn. The smell alone will keep you in for at least one more drink. Go and ENJOY!!!

Came here on Saturday night with like 20 people in tow (which later dropped to a more manageable 10-15). It was super crowded, but I guess that's to be expected on a Saturday night in a small, tight-spaced bar. This was the drinks portion of my boyfriend's birthday dinner/drinks gathering and we had been wanting to check this place out for awhile, so this night seemed perfect. I do wish this was a larger bar, but it's not the end of the world, I get that there's nothing they could do about that unless they tore down the place next to them. They have a casual circus theme that is cute, but not too much in your face and they also have complimentary popcorn freshly popping at the bar. I didn't sample it because we had just come from dinner and yours truly was stuffed. Judy & Punch has a creative and uniquely curated list of draft beers and some fun cocktails for folks who don't like beer. I love good beer so that part worked out great for me. I ordered a stout called "Void of Light" from Gun Hill Brewing Company - this is a brewery in the (boogie down) Bronx that has been on my list of breweries to check out for some time. This stout was insanely delicious and definitely one of the better sweet, milky stouts that I've had to date. My friend, Ingrid S., had another type of stout (Route of all Evil by Two Roads Brewing Company) which I also had after they ran out of "Void of Light" that wasn't as good and had some intense hops. Not my fave. I'm really in between 3 and 4 stars because I reeeeeeally wanted to love this place. I had heard so many great things on Yelp and through friends of mine who had been here previously. Eventually the crowd dissipated and I was able to secure the entire back seating area for our group to sit down and finally be able to enjoy a conversation, but not before the group that previously had a part of this area were absolute jerks to me. I wanted to snap a picture of a framed mermaid poster on the wall and I kindly let them know that I wasn't being a creeper or taking photos of them, but instead taking a photo of something behind them. Yeah, I suppose I could have kept shut, but I thought I was being nice by giving them a heads up. Of course that opened the door to 2 of the guys in their group harassing me and taking a photo of me on his cell phone since it would last longer. I regret not taking his phone and smashing it against the wall...I also normally have no problem putting little punks like these in their place, but it was my boyfriend's birthday and I didn't want to A.) ruin it for him or B.) have him get involved because 2 guys are disrespecting his girlfriend - so I took the high road and did my best to not have it sour my night. Gonna go with 3 Yelp stars based on my experience here. I would return if friends planned something here, but it probably wouldn't be because I made plans to.

Judy & Punch is our go-to spot for trivia, which is held every Tuesday. The free popcorn, craft selection on tap, and decent, affordable cocktails keep us coming back. Also, although they don't have a menu, they're cool with you bringing food into the bar. One gripe is that I do wish we got partial credit for partial answers (we are only partially smart). On Saturday of this Halloween weekend, I got my first taste of the bar outside of a weeknight. By the time we left, the place was packed, but the crowd was convivial and fun. I have to send a big shout out to the bartender, who was the only person the entire evening to get my costume (chicken cordon bleu...not a totally easy costume to guess, so I was impressed). As for the libations, aside from the craft brews, we enjoyed some of the bar's own peach-infused Bulleit bourbon on the rocks. Really tasty stuff. They have a small outdoor space out back, so this is definitely a good spot for spring, summer or fall, unfortunately none of which is the season that we're heading toward at the moment.

I tried this place once and it was ok. Mediocre drinks that are pricey. However, after seeing their lack of being COVID considerate, I'm never going back. They let customers stand around in close proximity without requiring or enforcing masks. So loud, disrespectful, rude and has no concern for slowing the spread. Also, tell your customers to stop blocking the walkway outside!!! There are other INNOCENT pedestrians who need to pass and do not need to suffer COVID because of you.

I met with a friend here before heading to a nearby event and I really liked the rocker bar vibe. The place wasn't crowded but it was perfect, we sat at the bar and enjoyed some of the happy hour specials. I found it super cute and old fashion that the bartender would keep tabs in a small note pad. Not sure what the normal prices are like but happy hour its pretty affordable.

Free popcorn, great beer selection, relatively cheap, pumpkin IPA was really good! Happy hour pricing $5 beer 4-8pm Monday-Friday and $4 well cocktails. Trivia every Tuesday at 8pm with prizes! Bartenders were friendly and speedy with their service, even though it was packed. They also serve regular cocktails and other drinks if you don't want beer. Really cool dive bar vibe, exposed brick with old paintings and posters hanging everywhere, wooden beamed ceilings, and a cool garage door at the front. Only downside is there's limited seating and the space is a bit cramped. There's good space at the bar and the service is speedy though! Open 4pm-4am, got busy around 12, great location to go out in Astoria for really good beer! Overall perfect place to come and hang out with friends!

This place has a little bit of everything that is good. That is if you like dive bars with good drinks, good music and friendly bartenders that also happen to be quite cute. I've been at Judy & Punch on weekdays when the vibe is quiet and divey, and also late on Saturday night when is louder and fun!. I'm very skeptical when it comes to ordering cocktails in bars like this but I was pleasantly surprised when my "Giggle Juice" turned out to be not too sweet, not too strong but loaded enough for a good buzz after only two rounds. Just perfect! Only wish it had some food but there are many options around. This is a good go to place if you're looking for a neighborhood bar or just somewhere to hang out in Astoria if you don't want to make the trip to the city.

Super cool bar. Glad I finally came to check it out since they opened a while back. Great beer selection, cool cocktail menu (I'd recommend the Judy Rose) They play cool music and if it's not too crowded, there's some room to dance. The bartenders are super friendly! Also there is this subtle circus theme, which is pretty cool. Looking forward to coming back soon.

Used to come here all the time 2-3 years back and recently last summer! The bartender still remembered me from a few years back and we got to chat. Good spot with great beers, cocktail specials, and jukebox + games. One of my go to bars if I'm in the 30th St area in Astoria.

Go-to-spot to try some new stouts & porters. Last week, they had a chocolate churro stout!! Judy & Punch change it up almost every week and they have HH, where some beers are only 5 bucks! They also have a cozy outdoor seating area, which is open when it's warmer out. I always come here first to grab a quick drink before dinner in a nearby restaurant.

Best spot for a cheap happy hour. Garage bar style, no frills place. Always packed. Still manage quick service. Garage doors open in the front to the outside if it's nice, and there's a patio out back, I think, too. They serve fresh popcorn for free and it's salty and buttery...so, delicious. They have a touch screen machine that has Photo Hunt and many other games...and that is a really important thing for me at a bar with my friends, haha. We will miss J&P when we move!!!

Dawning a campy saloon revivalist face, Judy & Punch offers a wide selection of familiar and lesser-known beers alike and floor space when you start to feel the spirits within you. Service Rating: 5 - The bar was totally full but one of the bartenders told us as soon as there was space at the bar without us having to ask. Very friendly. Selection Rating: 4 - Not your average dive bar beer selection for sure, I had a glass of Hill Farmstead Brewery's IIPA and the lady had Allagash White. There are enough beer options to entertain everyone in a party. Would be nice to see more spirits on the shelf. Atmosphere Rating: 4 - Nice playlist to match the mood of the night. People from the bar were dancing with dips and twirls (and a few tumbles) but it was well welcomed, nice to see people in high spirits at the end of this bag of mixed nuts we're calling 2016. Maybe the only suggestion I would make is that there is a bit too much standing room in front of the bar, at least during a slow week night. It would make such a big difference in intractability if the tables weren't so removed from the bar section. Cumulative Value Rating: 4.33 - Impressed by the upward standard dives like Judy & Punch are setting. The prices were a little high for what I expect to pay at this type of bar but worth having a decent selection. Will be back for sure.

Great dive bar in Astoria, but more well-groomed than your average dive. There's always a lively crowd on weekends and they offer a nice selection of specialty cocktails. I'm a fan of the General Tom Thumb - a combination of spicy ginger and citrus. Added bonus: - They offer live music (suggest calling first to find out when) - Popcorn machine - Jukebox - Outdoor seating area Overall, cool, dark dive bar vibe. Will be back.

Not from the area, we walked by en route to an event and told ourselves we should come back and check it out. Walking by again after the event, we went in for a drink. On this Tuesday night there was a comfortable crowd. There were definitely seat fillers, but not every seat was taken. We walked in towards the end of trivia and were a bit bummed about it (although we both suck horribly at trivia). Cool bartender. Average prices. Decent pours. We liked the spot, but in our brief visit we didn't experience anything memorable...other than an odd food-burning smell that kept wafting by us out of nowhere since no food was being served. If I lived closer, I might become a regular, but coming from RidgeWick, I wouldn't make the trek just to come back, not yet at least. Cool spot though.

I came here once after work - let me just say that I saw the bartender "pour" an empty vodka bottle into a drink. Never coming back again and that is all.

My new favorite bar in the hood. Their beer selection is great. The free popcorn is mighty nice. The juke box plays some randomly amazing tunes. Takes you on a trip down memory lane. The bartenders are all awesome (I've been there a few times). They have Jameson 18 which you don't see very often. Also great people watching if you sit overlooking 30th Ave. Will definitely be a regular here.

Drinks were okay, bartender seemed nice, decor seemed interesting. I think it has potential but I just didn't see it when I came here for Cinco de Mayo. Might come back to give it another try when the backyard is open. We came here thinking there would be a live band but actually they DO NOT have the live bands here anymore. Was a little disappointed.

Best bar in Astoria. Had some of my most fun nights here. Staff is the best. Vibe is awesome. Very glad that they have been able to stay open thus far during covid times. Highly recommend.

One of the best Happy Hours in Astoria. Their drinks are both cheap and strong. The atmosphere is both casual and calm--perfect for conversations. Honestly, a great place to bring somebody on a first date!

This place is a really funny spot for me. I went out with my friends and my bf and there was a girl so drunk that she fell toward the table. She was fine, but nonetheless a great way to remember a place. The drinks are decently priced and they occasionally have sour beer. Its crowded on a friday and Saturday so those are the best days to go.

Okay stop 2 of our Saturday night bar hopping adventure. When we arrived it was the last 15 minutes of happy hour so again we ordered the beer & shot specials which were good. The bartender at first was cool but then he kinda caught an attitude with us but then he gave us discount so all was forgiven. The decor was pretty cool and I definitely would wanna come back here for some drinks during happy hour lol

I came in for a single drink to kill some time before heading to Off the Hook. Bartender was sweet, music was good (Ch-ch-ch-ch-chaaaaanges). Allagash on tap. And a clientele that appreciates a good off color joke. It's hard to open a new dive bar, and harder to bill yourself as a dive bar that offers cocktails (I saw a mezcal negroni being offered- whoa!). But Judy and Punch pulls it off. This is a great, laid back spot that makes you feel welcomed. I'm looking forward to coming back and getting to know it better.

They have by far the nicest bartenders in Astoria. I have consistently always been treated with kindness here. For example, tonight someone next to us accidentally dropped their drink, splashing a bit on us. We completely jokingly told the bartender "we're traumatized, I think we need a free round of beers." He laughed along with us and we thought it was a good joke. Two minutes later he comes back with two free shots and says "I'll do you one better." Always the friendliest service here. UPDATE: my boyfriend was really tired, and ordered a "Red Bull tonic". The bartender looked at me confused, and I said he was REALLY tired, and meant a redbull vodka." The bartender not only brought over a redbull vodka, but bought over a whole free pint glass of Red Bull just to help him out. So nice!!!!

It's a great neighborhood bar, it's located on the bustling 30th ave and it's located on a good strip of the ave. There are a ton of good eateries and bars on this strip. I like this place because the staff is always friendly and the draught beer selection is pretty bad ass. It's a lively, fun bar, it's a cool casual place to have a drinks, but they don't sell food, it's strictly a drinking place only. They also have a respectable happy hour Mon-Fri from 4pm-8pm for $5 drafts and $4 well drinks.
