Just tried this place out with my husband we loved it!!! The food is so fresh and delicious, excellent prices and the interior has a nice, cozy ambiance with the excellent service. The agua frescas taste so good and authentic, I had tamarind and my husband got horchata, never tasted one so good. I ordered one mole enchilada and it came with out a fill plate of rice and beans, so delicious with the mole sauce. My husband’s steak fajitas were fantastic. We will definitely back!!!

Waitress was very polite the ambience was simple yet decent. Food arrived promptly and hot despite; it being too salty (my tacos)no pun intended. My companion had the mole burrito and he gobbled it down like a lion with some steak. He compared it to one of our favorite burrito places. The margaritas were decent could be better but for 9$ why not?I'll give this place another shot. So I tried again but left immediately because there was stuff in my water and the cup was dirty also some weird thing inside the margarita.

Overall a great establishment, super friendly staff, and super tasty food. I came here about 3 days after being in Oaxaca Mexico so it did have quite a bar to live up to & very nearly achieved it; as far as Mexican food options go in the US, this was an incredible stand out place

This is a great place to come and chill. They have happy hours from 3 to 7 pm i believe. Their Michelada has a great taste and its a very reasonable price for happy hour. Hubby and I had a couple of them and we order an empanadas with Flor de Calabasa which also we enjoyed along with the micheladas. And the end we order a molcajete they said is enough for one person. But honestly the size was more than enough to finish our dinner. I recommend this place for an authentic Oaxacan food, we will be back soon to enjoy this place again. So long Juquila!!

This place is real Oaxacan food in LA! Food is delicious and the service is great! If you like Oaxacan food I definitely recommend this spot.👌

Small place but a good flavor food friendly

I found another hidden little gem. So close to home yet I never been here till last night when I decided to try something new. When entering the restaurant they have a small little bar to the right and about 6 or 7 tables Incase you want to dine in. Unfortunately I didn't have time to dine in so I ordered to go. I was greeted first thing when walking in and was seated I told him I was going to eat out and he said it was fine to take a seat and let him know when I was ready. So I sat and took a look at the menu and decided on two things the camarones al mojo de ajo, and the burrito mojado with mole coloradito. To drink I ordered an agua de Jamaica and agua de maracuya (passion fruit). Both drinks were incredible! So I took the food home so I might have had a bumpy ride and it showed with the camarones al mojo de ajo but despite how ugly it looked the shrimp was delicious perfectly seasoned and garlicky just how I like it the rice and beans hit the spot and as for my burrito I asked for it with no lettuce because lettuce does not belong on a burrito but everything about that burrito was incredible the mole was sweet just how I like it and it just felt like a complete dish mixture of both sweet and savory! Very impressed with last night dinner. parking is horrible tho only downside about this restaurant

I stopped by, last minute, on a Friday night. My family wanted Mexican food so we decided to try the place out. We ordered the taco plates (one chicken and one beef). We also ordered the mole negro. We've tried a couple of Mexican places in the area and this will now be one of our go-tos. The food tasted great. It was not greasy at all. They gave chips, which were delicious as well. Not stale at all. The plates were reasonably priced. The service was great as well, being that I walked in and ordered take out. The staff was really nice. I wasn't there long, but you can tell it's a good ambience despite it being a small restaurant. We definitely recommend this restaurant!

Juquila in Culver City is a gem! The burrito asada was just fire, and enjoying mimosas with my coworkers made for a perfect lunch outing. The food is delicious, the drinks are on point, and the atmosphere is just right for a great time.

One of the few authentic places I've tried in the area! The ambience, music, and food are all very original and true to Mexican culture. Being someone who is from this type of background, I tend to have a hard time finding places that don't offer such. Juquila is also SO affordable while offering great portion sizes. The service is so friendly and I enjoyed chatting with all the waitresses there. I'd definitely recommend the fajitas and margaritas! My boyfriend and I will definitely be back soon!

Recently discovered this place last month after living in the neighborhood for years and have been back 3 times since. The staff is always friendly and fairly attentive. Food is fantastic and it's nice to have some legit comfort food and not another bougie fusion option. The wet burrito is my go to and they get it right every time. When it comes to drinks they make some of the best margaritas and micheladas in the area. The one downside is the parking lot is small so it can be tough to find a spot during peak hours and street parking is only one hour.

Literally, my favorite little hole in the wall Taqueria top-notch service top notch food. Never a question of quality. Great staff super affordable menu.

Cute clean place . Ambience chill . The food Omg to die for we ordered mixed tlayuda and the barbacoa omg to did for . Prices reasonable . The service excellent ! The quality of food beyond excellent. We ordered vodka tonic and mezcal drink delicious ! I'll be returning no doubt .

I ordered a mojado burrito with carne asada and a quesadilla with carne asada to go. The order was quickly confirmed and prepared in less than 20 minutes. It was delicious, fresh, and the salsa was full of flavor. Note that I couldn't order through Yelp due to how it was structured, but I googled and ordered online that way.

5 STARS for Juquila - here's why: 1. DELICIOUS MARGARITAS! I asked them to make mine less sweet than the regular marg and they delivered! I had 4 of them and would have had more if my boring boyfriend hadn't cut me off *sigh* 2. Fajitas were delicious! I had the chicken and my bf had the beef/shrimp fajitas and they were both so good and had a slight charr which we loved! 3. Music was ON and popping! I didn't expect this restaurant to be so lively but it was just what the doctor ordered! 4. Happy hour specials! I saw a sign outside that said they have $4 marg specials (R U KIDDING?!) 5. Service was top notch! Everyone was kind, attentive and quick! Gracias Juquila! I'll be back (without the bf) so I can enjoy my margs in peace

Small but very cozy atmosphere. They have plenty of tv's, it's a great place to watch all the games. The bar is a plus, and the guy behind it is very friendly and helpful- he came out several times to check on us. The aguas frescas are delicious and if I could go back every day for one, I would ! The food is very tasty too, we had the mole, molotes, and their special of the day- salsa de costillas. I had a minor issue with my dish, which was fixed right away. However, after a large party showed up, the waitress never came back to check on us. They might have just been understaffed that night. Other than that, I enjoyed my dinner and will definitely visit again.

Came in Friday night and they were busy, I sat at the small bar and was promptly attended by the server. He suggested this plate of mix meats. Traditional oaxacan dish. And it was spot on. Great recommendation. I also saw a parrilada going out and it look really good. But that's more for 2 or more persons. Good beer selección and Aguas frescas. I really recommend this place. Authentic oaxacan food and great service.

I found this restaurant by accident and it was a great accident. I live the food and the service and the ambience here is great l. I only come here for lunch but I am glad I found my new lunch spot.

We loved the food here. Their molcajete is massive and delicious with an assortment of meats and other fillings to make your own tacos. Their black mole is to die for it's sweet and Smokey. Service is courteous, a bit slow on our visit as they were low staffed. Definitely recommend. They also do a good job on suggestions for dietary restrictions.

The fish tacos are amazing!! They load these things up and the tortillas were so soft and not oily or anything. The asada taco was dry. Barbacoa taco was good too!

Excellent! I have been searching for homestyle chilaquiles and this is it!!! I am about 20 min away and no doubt would make the drive for this deliciousness! There food is very good! The energy in the restaurant is great, they have sports playing most of the time, great bar. Park is a pain, just find a street spot. Everything I've eaten there has been tasty, authentic, with good portions and healthy options as well.

This restaurant has great and delicious food. Great customer service. Great ambiance and view. This place is great! The atmosphere is chill and cool but the staff is also really friendly. They know what they're doing and what they're talking about, and you can tell making a the customers happy is their main priority. Food is pretty good, some italian classics and some twists, and for their prices it's 100% worth it.

Delicious Mexican food, but not a single person that works here can really speak English. It's impossible for them to understand you for to go orders.

Food was good, We asked for the parrillada it was delicious. But the service was awful. We sat outside for like 10 min no one checked on us if we needed something. The place was not full maybe 3 tables at most including us. Love this place but the service was awful.

I simply love this place!!! Been a loyal customer for 5 years and just realized that I haven't done a review yet. With all of the restaurants only taking to-go or delivery this has been my go to for the past week. Got take out on Sunday and played it at home so it tastes extra home made. LOL The breakfast/brunch dishes, especially the menudo remind me of grandma's house. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. My favorite anytime order is; a chicken mole tamale, a taco or two (chicken & al pastor) with a side of guacamole. They have a nice selection of Mexican beers and agave wine margaritas. Or you can have a agave wine shot & a beer. The whole team is very nice and accommodating.

I got fish tacos and I think they used ceviche meat, it was fucking nasty. Incredible tiny portions. Very fishy tasting and there was no filet, just tiny bits. The price on the menu didn't reflect the price on the bill. I got charged 5 dollars for a soda and 1 dollar for a bottle of water. They don't have tap water. The bar is cool but no one is there to serve you so you have to catch the one waiter if you want any service. I essentially at most my meal without anything to drink because no one checked up. I'm really just writing this cuz I got up charged and the food was genuinely awful.

It seems lately my taste has gone down and I have been picking meh places. I got a guacamole and a mole negro with nopal instead of chicken because fuck chicken. They made it from scratch thank god and it was a hole in the wall place with only local Mexicans in it which felt good. I've been dive hopping lately. What they could have done was put the nopal inside the tortillas instead of just put plain tortilla inside the sauce.

I decided to have my birthday lunch here because I wasn't familiar with Oaxaca cuisine and didn't have much mole experience either. Food was really good and the service was awesome. I really enjoyed the vibe of everyone working there, nice. The Flan is the real deal...like everything else they make. I recommend this place and can't wait to try other things from the menu.

The agua frescas is the only thing good here. The food was horrible the mémelas wasn't even cooked the masa was still masa. The chorizo as well not even fully cooked. I also go the barbacoa de chivo that wasn't not a Oaxacan dish the tortillas was so hard and only 3. Never going back!

One of the best places for authentic Oaxaca food in Venice area! Portion sizes are perfect for trying out multiple dishes! Loved every single item .

First of all I want to say I gave this place a try. The people working here were nice, polite and professional, no complaints on their service. However the food was just ok. They didn't have bottled water, and that's a must for me. The tortilla chips were too greasy. The chips with mole was too expensive. Now the food was a bit too overpriced for what it was. Now I don't wanna sound like I'm being rude because they tried their best. But they could improve on minor things. Please for the love of God get bottled water!

We've started coming to Juquila at least once a week now. Their rice and beans is simply the best in the game - I would pay good money for that alone! As simple as it is, their taco plate is fabulous, especially with perfectly charred carne asada. When it comes to Oaxacan food, we love their memelas, tlayudas, enmoladas, and costillas (not always on the menu). The staff are always so friendly and attentive and make us feel like family. The vibes on their cute patio are so fun, no matter what time of day!

The food was great! Their black beans are tasty, the tasajo was not dry and their coffee tasted like home made cup of coffee just like my grandma use to prepare it for me, yummy. Great fast service, definitely coming back for the Oaxaca molcajete.

It's very cute in here! Came for the first time the other week during lunch. I thought it would be packed, but I was able to find a seat. It was 90% full. They have booths and tables. Airy, bright, good service. Got the shrimp tacos. They tasted great. Oddly, when they brought it out, it smelled strongly of fish so I was at first worried. Did not get sick and was fine so not sure what it was about. The chips and salsa were really good too. The salsa is HOT!!! I wish they took it down a smidge cause it was so hot. I would eat here again if a friend wanted to come! It's great for a sit down casual place. However, if you don't care about that and love $1.50 street tacos from the awesome taco food trucks all over LA, you might enjoy those more.

Love this place! I've come here twice with my wife (who doesn't usually like Mexican food) and we have both been very pleased with our meals. The mixed plate with different meats, cheese and cactus is hard to beat. The carne asada plate is great too. Had one of the best tlayuda's ever here. I do agree with other reviews that chips are very oily but the awesome salsa makes up for this. Both times the service from our hostesses has been fantastic. They are always courteous, they smile and ate attentive throughout. The price in my opinion is very reasonable for the quality. Will be back soon!

Best Oaxacan Mexican food in the Palms/Culver area! The homemade salsa is flavorful and a bit spicy. The caldo de pollo (chicken soup) is a go to on rainy days, sick days, or any kind of hung over days. The chicken enchiladas, al pastor wet burrito, chilaquiles, costillas en salsa verde, and molcajete are on constant rotation!

Extremely delicious Mexican food! Their salsa was excellent. The drinks are served in these giant cups, which I am always a fan of! Definitely try the horchata, theirs is very authentic! We ended up ordered the special dinner for two, it came on a big plate with tongs. It had a lot of different meats and veggies. We even had leftovers to take. Definitely will come back and try other entrees!

My local Mexican spot. Burritos are massive and taste awesome. Huevos rancheros for breakfast is excellent too. Beers are super cold and they have the 32oz caguama size of Pacifico, corona, and modelo. Highly recommend.

I paid over 13.00 for pure garbage! Honestly....if you like the way dog food taste then this is your place! I don't mind paying for good food no matter what the price but this was crap! The so called carne asada smelled like old grease. I am not a picky eater so please take heed. The meat at this place is bargain basement meat!!! The ham had greasy little bubbles on it. I was so hungry but couldn't bring myself to eat any of it. Tossed in the trash and went to Flame Broiler instead. Will NEVER return to grease pit Juquila on Venice Blvd....ever!

I needed something quick before going into work today and wanted to spend some quality time with my guy. This was close to home and it's pretty solid. The prices were good, can't complain really. I didn't like my chicken enchilada too much but the cheese one was good. The boo got some type of sizzling molcajete looking thing that came with 3 types of meat, nopales (cactus), grilled onion and oxacan cheese. In my opinion and in my guys everything was just so damn salty! The cheese and the meats. Not my favorite! But they do have a good caldo de pollo! Yum :-P!!! If you're ever sick and need a soup at a reasonable price, that's the place to go! Service is always great. It's located in a small strip mall between a Japanese place and a new pho spot!

Juquila is the best! It has the cozy, warm atmosphere of a local neighborhood spot while also serving some of the highest quality Oaxacan food I've ever had. Not to mention the prices are very reasonable. I particularly love the enmoladas, costillas en salsa de molcajete, memelas con carne asada, and tasajo.

We came with the family for dinner. The food was bad , they took about an hour or more to bring the food out. The service wasn't the best either. They got many things wrong and overall everything was bad. We aren't coming back.

I stopped by Villa Tacos for lunch a couple of days ago while working in Culver City. Villa Tacos is located on a small strip mall on the corner of Venice and Clarington, that it shares with a bunch of other restaurants. The strip mall has a small parking lot but good luck finding parking at the peak lunch hour. When I entered I saw that the restaurant was about half full. Upon entering I was not sure if this was a counter service type of place or if I had to seat myself but a server quickly showed me to a table. Villa Tacos seems to be standard Mexican restaurant that has tacos, burritos, quesadilla, tostada salads and combo places that generally have rice, beans and some sort of meat. I saw that they had a Chicken Mole Negro ($9.99) dish on the menu so I decided to try that. After ordering I got the standard bowl of chips and salsa. The chips and salsa both seemed industrial but still enjoyable. Five minutes later I got the chicken mole negro. The first thing that struck me was this looked very shiny and had an intense deep color which was different from mole negro's that I've had. The taste was on the sweet side with a little bit of bite at the end. It lacked the intense heat that I've seen in some mole negro sauces or the earthy chalky consistency that I've experienced in other mole negro sauces. It felt a lot more monotonous without the complexity associated with mole negro. The chicken was perfectly cooked. It had the skin on but it slid off effortlessly leaving behind a nice moist piece of meat on the bone. This was not the best mole negro that I have had but it was pretty good in its own right. Price-wise it was fine for the Culver City location. Villa Tacos definitely has potential so I would probably add it to my lunch rotation if I was still working in the area.

Service is horrible and online order take pass 1hour from the time you requested for pickup and they don't even apologize for their hour delay.

I always come here with my sister after work when we're craving warm comfort food. The place seems like a hole in the wall type, but it's always clean, and because for some reason, no one really comes here for dinner, it feels spacious. Service is always excellent, free chips and salsa, plenty of water refills. Sometimes my sister will ask for pico de gallo, and they'll throw in guac, as well. As for the food, I realize their name has "Tacos" in it, and it sounds like a lot of people come here looking for them and then become disappointed. I've never actually ordered tacos here myself, but my sister likes them enough. But in my opinion, if you come here, you really should try their plates or even soups. I've ordered: carne asada plate, grilled chicken plate, camaron ala diabla, garlic shrimp plate, and caldo de camaron many times. I have never been disappointed. I come here when I'm craving homecooked meals, though let's be honest, I can't grill or cook nearly that well :p Aaaand... as my sister and I were walking to the car just now, the waiter came up to us and handed me my purse... that I left in the booth. This is definitely one of my favorite places.
