I feel truly pampered after spending a couple of hours at Kabuki, and especially after an incredible revitalizing lift facial by Norma. It happened to be my birthday, so I was given a discount and a small bottle of Kabuki cucumber body lotion, which smells and feels amazing. I went on a Wednesday, so my experience was on a women's day, when bathing suits are optional.
You'll be provided with a robe, towels, and locker and safe keys when you check in, and sandals are available by the locker room. The entire space is relaxing, quiet, and dimly lit, and subtly scented with aromatherapy diffusers. Naturally flavored waters, ice, hot tea, and fresh towels are easily available throughout. The showers, baths, steam room, and sauna are spacious and very clean. You can give yourself a salt scrub in the steam room, which also has a shower to rinse off the salt. In the vanity area, you'll find combs and hair ties, cleansers, lotions, and mouthwash. I recommend reading the How to Bathe page on the website before coming for the first time (https://kabukisprings.com/communal-baths-how-to-bathe).
As for spa services, I had planned to have a botanical peel, but ended up getting a revitalizing lift at Norma's recommendation. I'm glad I followed her advice. The enzymatic treatment tingled but left me glowing rather than red, the extractions were both firm and gentle, and several hours later my face, neck, and lips still feel super hydrated.
If you're planning on the botanical peel, it's wise to skip the communal baths since the heat will make your skin extra sensitive. Norma recommended that I consider a gentler facial since I had spent a good portion of the previous hour heating myself up in the bath, steam room, and sauna. Also, keep in mind that glycolic acid may irritate rosacea.
If you park in the Japan Center garage, head towards the west side, not the Kabuki Hotel side. The spa entrance is on Geary, past the Kinokuniya building, behind the Kabuki theater. Because I had a facial, my parking was validated. It cost a total of $5 on a Wednesday afternoon around 2 - 4:30pm.
