This was our first ramen meal in Japan. I wanted to love it, as chicken broth-based ramen is my favorite, but the broth here was a little bit too rich for me. It was still really good though!
My party of 4 came 10:45 on a Sunday (they open at 11), and there was already a long line. We didn't get seated until 11:55, so we waited for a little over an hour. I would recommend coming at least 30 min before opening, especially over the weekend.
The front of the restaurant is located in an alley in Ginza, but we were able to find it okay with the help of Google Maps, especially once we saw the long line of people.
They have menus in English and Chinese (and I think Korean as well?), which is exactly what my party needed. They're known for their chicken ramen, but they also offer dried sardine ramen and clam and oyster ramen.
I went with #1 slow cooked chicken broth ramen (1200 yen) with the addition of an egg and the char siu Hokkaido pork (150 + 400 yen). Someone will take your order in line, and in a matter of minutes of getting seated, your ramen will be served.
Like I mentioned above, I enjoyed the ramen but it wasn't my favorite. Rather than tasting like a clear chicken broth, the broth was so rich it tasted almost buttery to me. I found the chicken that comes with the ramen by default a bit bland, so I'm glad I ordered the char siu as a second meat. Everything else was good though, the noodles were cooked perfectly, the egg was soft boiled, and the char siu was very flavorful.
Portions are big, so come hungry. They give you a lot of noodles. I still had a couple bites of noodles left after finishing all of my toppings, which almost never happens in the states.
The restaurant is small with 13 counter seats and 4 seats off to the side, for a total of 17 seats. No wonder the wait is so long...
