"Kaldi’s Social House, an Ethiopian-owned cafe in Silver Spring, is expanding to a second location near the Clarendon Metro station. The new shop is expected to open in December at the Ten at Clarendon building. The original Kaldi’s Coffee, opened in 2013 by Tsega Hailemariam, is known for its high-tech Steampunk brewing system and has grown to include alcoholic drinks and a rooftop bar. The menu features a variety of toasts, strawberry cheesecake waffles, flatbreads, and Old Bay wings." - Gabe Hiatt

The coffee really is VERY good. They do eggs VERY well — probably the best poached egg I have ever had (see pics). Some people just know what they are doing. Sandwich was also good — the add on side salad was worth it. Potatoes were good too. Modern environs— cool vibe — congenial staff. Priced right.

We stopped in at about 11am on a Sunday before heading to the airport. It was packed! There were both groups having brunch and singles with their laptops out working and studying. It made it pretty tricky to get a table—we waited about 15 minutes. After that, ordering with a QR code on the table was easy. We got a latte with oat milk (average tasting), the salmon toast with breakfast potatoes (tasty but they were very stingy with the potato serving), a side of fries, and the Thai Tofu Buddha bowl (very good). The atmosphere is cute with lots of wood and brick. There are couches and arm chairs to sit at in addition to tables, so I get why it's a popular hang out place.

Google
It's a cafe-style place with many breakfast and some dinner options. There are also many light treat/pastry options if you're just meeting up for afternoon tea/coffee. There are vegan options available, and there are ways to make meals vegan by request. There is inside and outside seating, from a small party of 2 to a group of friends of 8-10. There is plenty of parking in the area, which is either a garage nearby or paid street parking. The smoothies are delicious but could be a bit larger for the price. It's a relaxed atmosphere, very casual. I have been here a couple of times with friends on the weekend. They can get pretty busy around lunchtime, but we always managed to find a seat. Staff has always been very polite and helpful. Would definitely recommend and will visit again.

Google
One of the best cafe with very reliable WiFi. COME EARLY - otherwise you WON’T find a spot! Seamless ordering process for your food and drinks, and almost always my orders are very timely (unless it’s jam packed!). Expect to spend about $20 if you’re getting a coffee/tea and a plate of food. If only getting pastries then expect about $10-15. The ultimate breakfast sandwich (only available in the morning) is one of my go to order. They use Counter Culture coffee which is absolutely delish. Note: Outlets for your laptop are only available at certain spots. The long table by the front when you walk in has the most comfortable seats and outlets. Otherwise, you need to sit on the couches and/or high-tops by the windows along the cafe.

Google
Beautiful coffee place for studying, working or just hanging out with friends or just yourself! Their signature traditional cappuccino is delicious! And their sweets are good! This location is pretty much busy all the time, but it has a great relaxing feel!

Google
Chai and chocolate croissant were good! On a different day, I tried the Turkish breakfast, which was absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, I found part of a sponge in my dish. They offered to replace it, but I was almost finished. They assured me I'd be refunded, but I never received it. I also ordered a chai with half the powder since I don’t like sweet drinks, but it still came out too sweet for me. When I mentioned this to the cashier, the person making the drinks responded with an attitude, saying he could remake it but wouldn’t add any chai—definitely not the response I expected. I didn’t say anything and ended up not drinking it.

Google
Kaldi’s is amazing! I stopped by Saturday morning after a workout - the space was very nice and the staff is very kind! Plenty of space but it’s definitely a space to pop in and not be rushed —touchiness ordering if you’re dining in, find a spot, scan and pay using the QR codes on the table and your deliciousness will be brought to you when prepared..the sofas are comfortable, you may sit at a high table, window seating or tables and chairs —a great vibe and the menu is overfilled with amazing dining options — savory dishes and a ton of acai bowls to choose from as well! I will be back..

Google
I just found out about this place and let me just say 10/10 I came a day ago and I really enjoyed my experience. The vibe is cozy with casual background socials, the staff are kind and helpful, and the matcha was superior. Loved the berry vegan loaf too. I came here to work and the cafe was relaxed enough to do so. Thank you!!

Yelp
Girls night! What a great vibe- we were so well cared for! My Old Fashioned was on point. The brown butter scallops were amazing! 10 out of 10!

Yelp
You can make reservations here! Highly recommend if you're planning to stop by on a busy Saturday or Sunday. We had no issues finding street parking on Sunday morning. This spot was perfect for a long catch up with friends. No rush to get out, and you can place all orders via toast so you don't need to get up from your seat either. Food and coffee were just okay, but the good location and pleasant cafe vibes made up for it. I got the ultimate breakfast sandwich which was actually pretty tasty! The avocado made it soggy but I liked the flavor regardless.

Yelp
I have been here many times at many different times of day for various different purposes and it provides a solid, easy environment for socializing over whatever type of food or drink suits your fancy - coffee and pastry, a full brunch or dinner, cocktails and apps, or just a green smoothie. Plus the mix of counter or communal seating, regular table seating, and couch/coffee table seating also adds to the versatility of this venue. QR code ordering at the table is also convenient and makes it easy to come with a group and not have to worry about splitting a bill or one person wanting to order a lot while someone else orders a little. It also makes it easy to add order new drinks or bites as desired. Food and beverage are generally solid if not mindblowing, though portions on some of the happyhour apps can be a little skimpy. Reasons it is a 4 and not a 5: It is always very crowded, at least on weekends, until at least 5ish PM. That itself isn't the restaurant's fault, but I do feel that seating could be optimized better to accommodate more people and staff or signage could be used to facilitate more people getting the type of seating they want. Currently, one person can sit down and hog a couch and coffee table meant for 2 to 3 people and it's lord of the flies. It is also extremely difficult to get a table near an outlet and people will hog laptop friendly/outlet accessible tables for ages with no staff oversight or time limit. For this reason I do not come here to do work, just to grab food or drinks with a friend. Could not make a cappuccino to save their lives. And it is advertised as a coffee house. This is a problem all over the DC area but I had to repeatedly send back cappuccino that were basically just disgusting lattes until I finally stopped ordering them here. Then I saw they had added a "traditional cappucino" to the menu in addition to the normal cappuccino. The description had the proportions correct and I assumed this was added in response to consumer feedback, so I ordered it. Literally the same thing. Not a real cappuccino, and like a latte but not as good. I do not get it. They should just remove both cappuccinos from the menu. Service is spotty. I *like* QR code ordering, and they bring the food to the table without issue, but then you never see anyone again and if there is an issue with your order or you need additional silverware or something you have to walk up to the bar and get a barrista's attention, which can be challenging or awkward if they are busy. I get that that is standard in a coffee shop but this is a hybrid between a coffee shop and a regular restaurant because they serve cocktails and full entrees, so It would be nice if someone just wandered around every so often checking on people. The lack of service checking on people or helping to facilitate seating doesn't stop them from requesting tip on their QR ordering platform and using settings that default to a full service tip, though. In summary, this place is easy and versatile (if you can get a table) and it's a good place to go just to meet a friend for coffee or a bite or a cocktail, and come and go as you please. I do not personally like to come here to do anything requiring a laptop, and would not recommend if you want a more doting, full service experience.

Yelp
My first time here, and I will say it's a very cute space. I enjoy the music here, it's upbeat but not too loud or distracting if you are trying to do work. However, this can be a tricky place to work at if you are in back to back meetings where you need to be talking, as a lot of the spaces are shared tables so you can hear everyone around you. The prices are really affordable (around $4 for coffee). I got the raspberry and green tea iced refresher and it is a nice combination of flavors without being overly sweet (bonus for it coming in a pretty glass). Things to note, they do not take cash, and you can order right from your table. When going up to look at a menu, the employee was looking at his phone and not very friendly and welcoming but totally understand if he was dealing with a business matter, it also was a very short interaction. There is also a good amount of parking (mostly street parking).

Yelp
This review reflects my experience dining out with celiac disease, an autoimmune disorder that requires me to maintain a diet free of gluten (including cross contact). SERVICE: 4/5 stars DRINKS: 3/5 stars FOOD: 5/5 stars AMBIANCE: 3/5 stars VALUE: 4/5 stars OVERALL RATING: 4/5 stars Friends and I spent an afternoon at Kaldi's Social House, a local spot for Arlington residents that serves coffee, cocktails, and food. When I arrived at Kaldi's, it was very busy; I was not sure we would locate a table sufficiently large to seat our party of seven. But, thankfully, the tables turn over somewhat quickly; we found a couch and chairs that could accommodate us all. Music was playing and conversations were lively, but it was not too loud to hear all of my friends. Kaldi's utilizes table-side QR codes to order via Toast; this limits modifications or requesting items off menu. Accordingly, we ordered a number of cocktails from the happy-hour menu and warm beverages that were a reasonable price without the discount. Each transaction through Toast was processed separately (so no tabs to maintain and close before we left). Over the course of a few hours, I ordered three mimosas; they were mediocre, using sparkling wine that was not very effervescent. With my third drink, I ordered a Caprese sandwich, which was accompanied by a side salad. Unfortunately, because I could not speak with a server, I didn't know if the fries were safe for consumption by a person with celiac disease; I added a note to my order, requesting my sandwich be made using gluten-free bread (and requested the kitchen avoid cross contact to gluten-containing grains). The salad was large, well dressed, and contained a breadth of different winter vegetables. The sandwich was delicious--very large, pesto forward, and on well-toasted gluten-free bread. Overall, I was pleased to try Kaldi's while out in Arlington. If I am in the area in the future, I would stop in again (that Caprese sandwich is calling my name...).

Yelp
We've visited Kaldi's for breakfast over the years, and today's meal was just as satisfying as always. The breakfast burrito was delicious, featuring a subtle saltiness from the potatoes and a warm, slightly toasted tortilla. The salad had just the right amount of dressing. The chicken on the waffle was freshly fried, complemented by a hint of sweetness and spicy jalapeños in the corn waffles. We enjoyed the cozy ambiance and the clean, inviting space with large windows, perfect for people-watching. Service was satisfying, as expected.

Yelp
Really enjoyed co-working at this place! Amazing playlist, good natural lighting, and cozy and ample seating! Caramel latte was huge (kinda $), but worth it for the amazing vibes! Would 100% come here again, can't believe it's taken so long for us to come here! Servers very nice and orders arrived quickly!!

Laura H.

Yelp
One of my favv study spots in Arlington!! It's large and comes with many different sits, perfect for a place to meet up with friends and catch up. I would say it gets prettyy busy after 11am so if you want a seat make sure to come early. The food and drinks options are fairly large. I got the lunch bowl with a Carmel latte. The bowl had fresh ingredients making it feel so healthy to eat.

Caroline K.

Yelp
Really cool vibe with plenty of seating inside! I came on Veterans Day and there wasn't a table or seat open!! Everyone was working or hanging out so that was awesome but I definitely recommend coming early or at off hours for a spot. Pretty good menu variety. I got an iced chai latte and it was delicious, really recommend. All the food I saw looked really fresh and yummy. Workers were really kind and friendly. Worked really fast.

Yelp
This is not my first time visiting Kaldis Social House (the 10th street location in Arlington) but I can guarantee you this will be my last. A few friends and I stopped in on 1/14/25 and I couldn't be anything less than disappointed. Both the workers and the servers were EXTREMELY nasty to us as we were dining within the establishment. They also refused services to another black woman and threatened to call the police. They constantly harassed the woman and refused to serve her food because she only had cash. One of my friends offered to purchase her food for her, however they stated that we weren't allowed to purchase this woman's food. I am not sure where that is allowed, but okay. The staff's behavior was discriminatory, which made me and my party feel unwelcome. Treating customers differently based on race, gender, etc. is completely unacceptable. Not only was the service unprofessional, but it also left us feeling uncomfortable and singled out. This kind of behavior has no place in a business that relies on serving diverse customers. I strongly urge the management to address this issue immediately, ensure proper training for your staff; Jess (manager), along with Maribel, Edith, & Rosie and create a more inclusive environment. Until meaningful changes are made, I cannot recommend this establishment to anyone.

Luke W.

Yelp
The best coffee in the DMV and it's not even close. They have some good food options as well, including a chicken verde soup that I would eat every week if I was able to go that often. I can almost always find a spot to sit, even when it's busy. The crowd is a great mix of people working and people chatting, but almost never feels too loud.

Ashleigh T.

Yelp
Perfect start to my week! I stopped in Kaldi's Social House when they opened on a Monday morning to get a coffee while waiting for the vet across the street to open. I have passed by here at least 10 times but always thought it was an apartment complex or hotel. The vibe is giving posh & upscale! The space is situated on a corner and lined with windows on both sides, bright lights and plenty of seating options. They have a full service bar, coffee/espresso and smoothies. The morning pastry selection has a good variety. I ordered a large apt and honey latte (they give you four shots ... hallelujah!) and a fresh spinach and feta pastry! The coffee was perfection from first sip and the pastry makes me want to go back and get one for later. In addition to the variety of food and drink options they have tvs, a large meeting table and a friendly staff. They do not accept cash.

Maia Y.

Yelp
There is another chain cafe that I absolutely adored back in Atl that is also called Kaldi's. That's why my expectations for this place was high. It definitely did not disappoint! The bean was so aromatic and the coffee smooth. It was bitter not in a crude, burnt way but rather rich and flavorful. It was absolutely packed on a Sunday morning with many working or studying. There were only bar seats left and a little noisy. I would not recommend going there for productivity, but if you want to people watch over some great coffee and brunch, this is the spot!

Jasmine G.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem! Why does VA have all the nice coffee shops. The cashier was so nice. I called and asked where to people park and she assisted. If you can find street parking you can just park there or the residential areas. The coffee shop was such a vibe. Super cute and the music level was perfect so you can still be productive here. The food was good! I went in the morning and there was a good amount of seats. I heard this place can get packed. Coffee was great! I ordered the pumpkin spice latte and the coffee art was giving gorgeous! I live 30miles away from here and I know there is one in Silver Spring but I heard this location is better. Now I have to go to the Silver Spring location to be the judge of that. I love this coffee shop! Definitely worth the drive. If you need an outlet you need to sit at the tables with the plugs. You can get a lot of work done here. Thanks for the great experience

Jooa Eun K.

Yelp
3.5/5 but I rounded up. A decent place to telework. However, I arrived around 1:30 pm on a Wednesday, and it was absolutely packed. It may be difficult to find seating as it seems people sit here for hours teleworking or studying. The food and drinks were fine. I ordered a caramel iced latte and a hot caprese sandwich. The latte had a strong espresso flavor, which I enjoyed. However, the hot caprese sandwich wasn't really hot--it was more lukewarm, possibly because the server brought it out a bit late after it had been sitting for a while.

Benjamin T.

Yelp
What can I say this place is definitely a vibe - If I were to open up my own restaurant cafe it would be along the lines of this place. People come and go here minding their own business and honestly just to enjoy a safe place to get work done, socialize, and exist you know. I will say some of the staff that have rotated in and out of their employment really threw some of us off in terms of awkward interactions and social cues but nonetheless the place makes up for it. They have pastries available for purchase and you use QR Code scanners to order and they take it to the table. This place is a must go for anyone who does early mornings in coffee shops! (Not me, but nonetheless I can recognize this is the place for it) Highly recommend!

Ameena A.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place! It's 5 stars for a reason (even with some downsides). In all fairness, there are a few downsides (that I do view as minor): - It is very busy each time I've been (but...why do you think that is?!) - Parking in the area can be difficult The fact that they have gluten free bread and options on their food menu...HALLELUJAH. And their drinks are delicious!! You can also either order at the register, or, you can use a QR code wherever you find a seat and they'll just bring it right to you. Love that! The ambiance is super cute, although again, it can take a minute to find a spot in the beautiful space due to how busy it is. They have both inside and outside seating options. Definitely give this space a try for the delicious food, drinks, and the stylish ambiance! Service has also always been great.

Laresa M.

Yelp
I came here to get some much needed studying done. I wanted to try a new place and randomly found it on a map and made the short journey! It was much larger than expected. There was a large table right when you walk in where a lot of WFH people were at, their laptops up with everyone typing away. There was a variety of seating and overall had a great ambiance to the place. I decided to get a campfire smore's latte. I loved the presentation and it tasted oh so good. I'm not usually a big chocolatey drink person, but it wasn't too much at all. Everyone was very friendly. Definitely will be back!

Christine P.

Yelp
A nice coffee shop to work from. There are multiple tables and couches for seating. There are QR codes on the tables to order food, and someone will bring the food to you. PB latte- still a little too sweet for me, even though I asked for half the amount of chocolate syrup Ultimate breakfast sandwich- good, but I would try their other dishes first Banana bread- average for a $5 slice

David S.

Yelp
The food and latte were very good, the ambiance was okay, the service was good. It's not kid friendly, however it's great for young ppl who need a place to get work done or mingle in groups. The vibe is more like something you'd find in NYC, def not a chill vibe, but the food and drank is very good

Sarah S.

Yelp
Came here for a quick brunch with my girlfriends. We ordered via the QR code on the table and everything came out in a reasonable amount of time. I ordered the breakfast burrito with added chicken and it was incredible. My friend got the tomato soup and still talks about it to this day! Be prepared to scout out a table as seating is first come first serve.

Javell H.

Yelp
Had brunch here on a Thursday around 11AM, when we got here, It was packed. No seats available. Most seats were taken by people on computers, not really eating or anything which I didn't really understand... This seems to be a normal thing in NOVA. Do not be discouraged to eat here because of this! Anyway, we stood around waiting for a seat to open so we can actually order. I considered leaving but a seat opened as I was looking for another brunch option. Let's talk food, they have an amazing extensive menu, the prices are affordable and good size portions, not to mention DELICIOUS. The lemon ricotta French toast was both a sweet and savory. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food is here. I got an egg on the side. I got the salted caramel latte, it was delicious & smooth. Definitely recommend. Extra points for cute latte art. Seats are pretty close next to each other which can be a little uncomfortable. Overall, I still gave this place 5 stars because the food & customer service was really good!

Meredith B.

Yelp
This is a coffee shop with a detailed menu, you seat yourself, order from couches and tables on your phone, and they bring you your food. I went on a Sunday and there were a lot of people working on their computers at the tables, but I'm not sure how the digital nomads are during the week! I appreciate their selection that caters to dietary restrictions and allergies and was so excited to find somewhere with gluten free waffles. They looked really good but I was a little disappointed in how soggy they were, I prefer a waffle that has more structure and they tasted... eggy, so I'm wondering if I just got an underdone batch. I asked someone in the party to give it a try and they agreed they tasted odd (and I know gf food tastes different, but this was very different) I also got a coffee (not pictured) which I enjoyed. I might go back in the future when I'm just getting coffee, or try something else from the menu, but I was disappointed by the waffles.

Jessica U.

Yelp
Logo Negro: 9/10. Was better with the addition of sparkling water Classic Margarita Pizza with Pepperoni: 7/10. Eat it hot or it starts to taste weird Banana Bread: 9.5/10. Absolutely delicious

Jenna L.

Yelp
Visited this place for the first time and loved the vibes! I ordered the Honey Pistachio Latte: honey, pistachio, espresso, and orange zest. It wasn't the best pistachio latte I've had, the temperature was not cold enough for an iced coffee, and the orange zest flavor overpowered the pistachio and honey notes. Couldn't really taste the coffee through the orange zest. The iced dirty chai was still warm with a few melting ice cubes floating around, defeating the purpose of ordering it iced. Loved the vibes of this place though -- casual + chill & cozy vibes, good background music that's not too loud; spacious area but packed on weekends, and staff was pretty friendly. Will come back here to try other menu items.

Serena X.

Yelp
This place is ALWAYS packed, and for a good reason! The space is nice, service is quick, and quality of food is delicious. We ordered the margarita and arugula goat cheese salad with chicken added. We also tried the Thai chili wings, and I would say everything tasted great. You order from a QR code menu at your table, and the staff bring it to you. I'm excited to come back during the day to try their coffee as well. Just be prepared to wait around to find a seat!

Cynthia L.

Yelp
Social House it is indeed. On a Friday afternoon, every seat in this place was Jam Packed with people studying and working and just you know, socializing. I ordered a decaf candy cane latte (you can get whatever milk your heart desires as well as either white or dark mocha- I got the dark). The drink was ok, a bit on the burnt side with really no taste of "candy cane" imo. Service was ok. They serve food and alcoholic drinks as well. I am def sure if you're stopping by here, it's to work or for the gathering of a place.

Sehar M.

Yelp
I went here for a catchup with a friend! I got a cappuccino and spinach feta bistro. It could have been slightly more heated up (the spinach feta bistro), but that's on me to say something next time. I ordered from the register, not realizing there was an easy QR code system at each table. It did take slightly long to get what I needed along with my friend although to their credit, it is Sunday and gets busy'! The ambiance was really nice. It was a mix of dates, families and friends either getting to go orders or sitting. I suggest giving this a try and would definitely go back again!

Phillip Z.

Yelp
This is everything that I love -- a great menu with food options, wine and strong coffee. I went here today and loved it. It's exactly the kind of spot that i want to work out of with plenty of couches, strong Wifi and coffee along with a great wine and cocktail menu for the evening. I grabbed a spot on one of the couches near the window. It was the afternoon during the week and this place was popping with other people working remote. I live in DC, but feel like this spot is worth the commute for the ambiance and great wifi. I'm excited to come back!

Dina S.

Yelp
We made a quick stop here on our way home from a DC trip. The place is really cute with a hip, Seattle vibe which our girls loved. The food was really good and just enough of a portion. Two negatives: it was freezing inside and the lack of waiters/waitresses made it a bit impersonal.

Rachel H.

Yelp
I LOVE coming here whenever I am in Arlington for work. It's a great place to sit and crack out paperwork or to host a lunch/coffee meeting. The food is great, they serve one of the best London Fogs I've ever had, and the staff is super friendly. It helps that the shop is just a short walk from the Clarendon metro. My only complaint is that I wish the music played was a little quieter.

Liz B.

Yelp
Came here for lunch on Friday and it was a really nice atmosphere! I got a cortado which was smooth and really good and the turkey sandwich which also was really good! The only issue was that the bottom bread got soggy immediately. My friend got an iced chai and the chicken Buddha bowl which she said was really good too! It was a nice casual place and a lot of people were doing work on their laptops here too. I'd definitely come back!

Jen N.

Yelp
One of the best coffee houses around, IMO. Super friendly staff, great coffee, a range of other treats and SUCH a comfortable space. You never feel crowded yet it's spacious enough to want to stay and get a refill.

Ricardo W.

Yelp
It's a good spot to study if you can brave the social part. Tables are on a first come first serve basis. Good for college students or anyone conducting work virtually. The food was good and the vibe was great for socializing. I liked it!

Jill A.

Yelp
Cozy and hip interior with different sized tables, spaces for studying or working. I am obsessed with the chairs. Solid mocha latte, not too sweet. Recommend the tropical green tea, iced.

Hannah N.

Yelp
Delicious food, and coffee! The photo above is one of their breakfast sandwiches and it comes with crispy potatoes, their vanilla latte are delicious and having a nice flavor and high caffeine level. It's hard to find high caffeine in local coffee shop sometimes. The biscotti was delicious. They have seasonal flavors. That rotate The vibe is nice, but it can be crowded at times and if you were coming individually or in a pair, it can be hard to find seating because individual sit in the large seating areas. Good vibes, they also serve dinner food and beer/wine.

Mary N.

Yelp
We love this place! The ambiance, food, drinks, and service are always soothing. Special shout out to Marvin, he always has such a noticeably good attitude and makes visiting Kaldi's a pleasure! During our last visit, he noticed that the AC ran too high on our side of the cafe and went out of his way to make sure that we were taken care of despite the AC mishap without us even asking! If you like good coffee and food I would highly recommend Kaldis!

Shon S.

Yelp
Ambiance and Food is absolutely amazing. I would recommend and will be returning to this location asap!

Patti K.

Yelp
If you're wandering around Clarendon looking for a sign from the coffee gods, look no further than Kaldi's Social House. It's the kind of place you enter for a quick caffeine fix and end up planning your next business empire--or just enjoying a really, really good latte. Let's talk about the sugar-free vanilla latte with oat milk. This isn't just a drink; it's a lifeline on those days when my brain is about as awake as a hibernating bear. It's smooth, it's creamy, and it makes you wonder if the oat milk is milked from oats that were raised on spa music and positive affirmations. The atmosphere? Imagine if your cool, artsy friend opened a coffee shop: industrial chic, effortlessly trendy, and always welcoming. It's the perfect backdrop for everything from powering through emails to pretending to work while you actually people-watch and secretly craft your next fictional masterpiece. Who knows? The guy in the corner with the mismatched socks could be my next main character. (Don't worry, names and sock choices will be changed to protect the innocent). Now, the food--oh, the food! It's off the chain. Seriously, the servings are so huge, you might need a forklift for your plate. Come hungry, leave happy, and maybe a little rounder. It's a place where your diet plans could easily go to die, but who's counting calories when the food is this good? My only gripe? I wish they had more sugar-free flavors. I mean, variety is the spice of life, and us sugar-avoiders would like to live a little too, right? How about some coconut, almond, chocolate or mint? Come on, Kaldi's, let's make all our sugar-free dreams come true! Bottom line: Kaldi's Social House is where you go when you want great coffee, amazing food, and an atmosphere that's both inspiring and relaxed. It's a little slice of trendy coffee heaven right in the heart of Clarendon. Five stars from me--keep pouring that liquid gold!

Yelp
4 stars for the work space--plenty of good isolated tables, window-front bar, work table off to the side with outlets. Heavily packed, might have to hover around for a while before getting a seat / outlet. Food was mid, maybe I ordered the wrong things since I got a lychee matcha tonic (instead of a coffee) and the cola pork belly grits were a new menu item. Looks pretty and came with a side salad (or choice of potatoes) but the grits were a bit bland, kept wanting to add soy sauce or salt or cheese. Bit of a downer since the one slab of pork belly was decent, tender and well-sauced. I was looking for a lighter bite anyway but be warned that portions are not very large & are on the pricier side! Would probably order something else if I were to end up back here (saw a lot of tomato soup / grilled cheese and french toasts). Tables are also oddly slightly low, which my hunched back started feeling after a bit.

Yelp
The food here is absolutely delicious, love the concept. Unfortunately it's a little uncomfortable to eat since the tables are so low, but that is my only complaint. Everything else was spectacular!

Yelp
Wow! I have never experienced such an amazing customer service in a coffee shop. I wanted a double macchiato but, when it came it was too strong. Well, when I went back to add more milk Alex said don't worry I will make you something you will enjoy. Alex brought me back the perfect cup of coffee. Also enjoyed the outside seating. Thank you and keep it up.

Yelp
Such a cute cafe and place to study and meet up with friends! The food is super yummy, the pound cakes are delish, and even their side salads are yummy! The staff are amazingly friendly and the ambiance is super calm and social. Definitely this place if you're in the area!

Yelp
I didn't realize this is more of a coffee shop than a restaurant but either way I really enjoyed my fried chicken sandwich for brunch. The food choices are solid (much better than I'd expect for a coffee shop). Ordering is easy and can be done right from the table with your phone. Just be aware lots of people hang out with their laptops so seating may be limited. Parking is street, free on Sunday!

Yelp
TLDR: change in quality in the last 6 months, expensive prices. Not impressed with food recently. I've been to kaldis multiple times over the years and have recommended this place to so many friends. It has been such a gem in Clarendon and I always have looked forward to having a meal here, or even just a drink! BUT I am not sure what happened in the last 6 months but I have noticed a decline in quality. Mostly recently the switch from the delish roasted potatoes to cookie cutter bland French fries. I ordered the soba noodle bowl tonight (chef special) and $18 for small portion without any protein, especially when it didn't appear to have all the listed vegetables in the bowl. It almost looked like an appetizer portion of food. Last week had the hot caprese sandwich - mostly bread without much else to it. In summary, really feeling disappointed with kaldis not feeling like my immediate go-to anymore. :(

Yelp
I come here almost weekly for sunday/weekend breakfast near the Clarendon area. Amazing food and fast service. One of the few establishments with QR code ordering from your phone at the table so you don't have to get in line or make awkward conversations about who's paying! Good to go earlier because seats fill up quickly during brunch hours.

Yelp
My new favorite brunch spot. When you get there, seat yourself and order using the QR code on the table. Your food and drinks will then arrive as they are ready. The wait wasn't long at all. You likely won't be able to find an empty table right away, but folks seem friendly and open to you sharing a table with them. The food and drink are very good. I feel you can't go wrong with your order. The potatoes that came with the ultimate breakfast sandwich were ridiculously good. I have never gotten excited about roasted potatoes before. These tasted like a thick version of potato chips. The texture was perfect. I wanted more so I ordered a side of more potatoes. The açaí bowl was perfect as well. There were some parts of it that were still a bit slushy and made me feel cold, but that's okay. The toppings were great; a little bit of everything that you could want on your açaí bowl. The cortado is served with a small glass of sparkling water. The lychee matcha tonic is perfect for summer and so refreshing.

Yelp
Only complaint I have about this place is that it isn't open late. Otherwise this place must mint money. Cozy seats to plug in and work/cocktails galore/delicious food...this place rocks!!

Yelp
I personally have only ever had neutral experiences here. Neither great nor terrible. I do enjoy the lavender matcha. However I heard that there was an issue with them being discriminatory towards an older black woman. Based on that alone I likely won't come back here. Which is a shame because it's very convenient for me.
