The Best Vegan and Vegetarian Restaurants in Seattle | Eater Seattle

"Vegan sushi skeptics are sure to come away from this Fremont sushi spot pleasantly surprised, thanks to a menu full of vegan options that are as visually delightful as they are delicious. Start with the Crunch Inari (fried tofu stuffed with rice and crunch crumble) and vegetable tempura. Then either keep it simple with the vegan spicy California roll with tofu crab meat or go deluxe with the Seattle vegan roll or Death by Crunch roll (deep-fried vegan California roll topped with fried onion). A hidden gem on this menu is the grilled onion maki, a simple roll that where the sweetness of the onion blends really well with the starchy rice and salty seaweed." - Sean Keeley

Kamakura Japanese Cuisine And Sushi - Review - Fremont - Seattle - The Infatuation

"If you thought that vegan options at sushi spots were all cucumber rolls and not too much else, allow us to introduce you to Kamakura. They have a full fish-based menu of good casual sushi, but their all-vegan lineup is the real MVP. Instead of just avocado maki or an abundance of pickled radish, this Fremont spot serves faux tuna made from marinated tomato, a spicy crab-free California mix involving minced tofu, and complicated deep-fried special rolls drizzled with three different sauces. Sure, Kamakura rules if you're plant-based, pregnant, or both, but you'll find their vegan sushi delicious even if you regularly consume more raw fish than a North American river otter." - Aimee Rizzo

Google
Amazing vegan sushi, not just vegetables but thoughtfully curated rolls! Their tuna is tomato based and meats are tofu so the roll was surprisingly refreshing and more delicious even than mock meats! They also have non vegan options which the rest of the people I came with really enjoyed and inside the seating is quite nice and well decorated. Our server was very kind and explained that ordering is done by the tablet at the table which was very convenient. Would definitely come back if in the area again!

During my last trip to Seattle, I had an unforgettable experience at this restaurant — the freshness and quality of the food left a lasting impression on me. So on this family trip, I knew I had to bring my sons here to share that same incredible experience. Once again, the service from the owner and staff was absolutely top-notch, and the sushi and sashimi were some of the freshest and best I’ve ever had — truly unmatched anywhere else. This place has become a must-visit for every Seattle trip. I will definitely be coming back again and again.

Google
Extensive vegan menu. I've tried several of the "basic" vegan sushi and several of the "special" vegan sushi, they all turned out divine. There is this white, I believe, tofu based material in the special sushi, that tastes amazing. Don't forget to add the soy sauce, pickled ginger and wasabi to further boost the flavor. The sushi is great, however, the vegan yakisoba is the best yakisoba I've ever had. It's really flavorful. The sweet and savory notes run "deep". I don't know how else to describe it. You just have to try it! It's piping hot served on a cast iron plate. This is now my favorite place for vegan sushi and yakisoba. I only wish I had known it sooner. The "basic" sushi are also quite affordable, around 8 bucks on the menu for 8 pieces (Jan, 2025). The waiters have always been very friendly as well.

Google
Best vegan sushi. Death by crunch is my favorite!!! I wish there was one closer to me otherwise I would be eating here a lot more.

Google
Firstly, I went for sushi. I heard it has better options for vegans. Ordered “Order first think later” and “death by crunch roll”. I really liked the death by crunch roll, spicy enough for my taste. The other one was sweet. Would have appreciated if the lights were bright enough.

I went here on a Wednesday night with some friends who LOVE sushi. It's located on a busy corner in Fremont close to everything. Parking was street parking which took a little bit to find but was well worth it! The place is decorated in Japanese flair and is located on the bottom floor of the building. I had the sushi bento box, beef gyoza, and shrimp tempura. It was all very delicious and the fish was extremely fresh and tasty. The tempura batter was light. I also had a sake-based Lemondrop which was a kicker! My first guest had the California rolls and he loved them. My other guest has a California roll, avocado maki, Agedashi tofu (on happy hour menu) and she raved about how good and tasty her food was. We also shared some green tea. We were so full we did not order dessert. The staff was very warm and friendly while being attentive to our needs. The total price after taxes and tip for 3 people was $124.27 which for the high quality of the fish was well worth it. We were all VERY happy with our experience and will come again. We happily recommend this restaurant when you are in the Fremont neighborhood.

Google
Omg ! I love it here ! As a vegan, it’s hard to find good vegan sushi & this spot is one of my favorites!! I been here 2 times in 2 weeks, cause it’s that good ! All the flavors of the vegan sushi & combos are fire and I’m just working my way down to menu to try them all! I would 100% recommend! Plus it’s got a vegan sushi menu & a regular sushi menu, so you can go with your non vegans friends too, so everyone is happy ! Thank yall! Keep being amazing & yummy ! Great staff too ! Super friendly & kind!

Google
Probably one of my favorite restaurants. Strongly recommended as a vegan. Vegan sections on the menu. No pictures but that's okay. It's also cool that they have basically tablet menus so you don't have to talk to someone to place your order -- efficient and less error-prone. Tap to pay of course. Not great if you want to loiter for half an hour waiting for things, but that's okay, I'm just here for the good food.

Yelp
As a born vegetarian, sushi has never be a high option for me especially since I don't like the taste of seaweed, I tend to stay away. Kamakura delivered some delicious specialty sushi that I loved. And especially loved that they have an extensive vegan menu! We ordered the Death by Crunch Roll and the yakisoba noodles. Both were very flavorful and after having the sushi, I wish I had ordered another instead of the noodles! Service was great and speedy. It's a small place but ambiance was on point and cozy.

Yelp
How I heard of this place: We were ready for dinner at a local spot in Fremont, but the wait was going to keep us from being seated for over 45-minutes, we walked down the way (with so much selection in Fremont) and found a busy Kamakura, but without the long wait. Type of cuisine: "What makes Kamakura unique is our dedication to using the freshest, high-quality ingredients, sourced from trusted suppliers to ensure a premium sushi experience. Our chefs skillfully employ traditional techniques to craft exquisite sushi and sashimi, complemented by a menu that features both classic favorites and inventive specialty rolls. We also have a completely separate vegan menu with a large variety of dishes available." Ambiance: This is a beautiful restaurant, with a calm, ambient feel inside. From the decorations and colors, to the soft lighting and subdued service, we felt right at home and comfortable in the establishment. A sushi bar is available for seating alone or with a friend, while seating at tables and half-booths is also an option when dining in groups. The slanted bamboo/straw ceiling with exposed wood adds a nice, warm, homey touch. What I ordered: One friend enjoyed the katsu, while the rest of us chose various rolls of sushi. For me, the Caterpillar Roll - unagi, krab, cucumber topped with avocado and unagi sauce & Dragon Roll - cucumber, shrimp tempura topped with unagi and avocado. What I loved: The beautifully presented sushi. The thin slices of avocado, the freshness of vegetables and the robustness of the unagi sauce. Why I loved it: A great spot for delicious food to share with friends or devour on your own. Cost: Average to high

Yelp
I had such high hopes for this restaurant due to the reviews. The staff was very friendly and tentative and I have no qualms with the service at all. The restaurant was very cute inside and I like that there is a bell you ring for service when you are ready. The sushi itself was the most ok sushi I've had. I wasn't blown away but it also wasn't bad. It was just OK. My friend was in town visiting and I wanted to bring her to a sushi spot that knocked her socks off, but unfortunately this wasn't the place. For a quick date night or a casual self date, sure, but not for impressing out of towners unless they're vegan, because I'm sure vegan sushi is difficult to locate in other places.

Yelp
Kamakura in Fremont is a solid choice for sushi that tries hard to accommodate everyone, including those with food sensitivities (like nut allergies) and Vegans (they have a whole other Vegan menu). The restaurant is welcoming, unassuming, and casual. I loved how friendly the sushi chefs and staff are. Plus, the food tasted amazing! We especially found their Avocado Bomb to taste, well, BOMB!!! Happy Hour is Monday to Friday from 12-5:30pm.

Yelp
We come here every now and then, and the sushi never disappoints. The menu has plenty of items to choose from. The service is always good and the staff is friendly. The parking can be tough as it's on a busy street.

Yelp
Kamakura was great! We didn't expect to go here, but came across it while walking and really enjoyed their food. I did a bento box, and it was great! My husband got the curry katsu and said that was also great. The service was quick and attentive. The ambiance is fine, we were sat next to the kitchen and walk way so the vibes weren't great, but further in the restaurant it looked nice.

Yelp
The appetizers, Chicken Karaage and Shrimp Tempura were disappointing. Death By Crunch from the vegan menu - disappointing. Philadelphia Roll and Spicy California Roll are definitely worth trying. Staff is great!

Yelp
As someone who has had their vegan and regular rolls, I'd argue that some of their vegan rolls are better then the normal ones! So many creative flavors and textures. Nice portion sizes too! And they split our checks even as a group and that's always appreciated. This and kin len's across the street have become our 2 go-to spots for celebrations. As a long time vegetarian I was used to getting boring and bland rolls, but Kamakura has changed the game Note: no reservations, even for big groups. So really 4.5, but their food makes up for their sometimes lacking service. I do appreciate the service buttons though so you don't have to flag down a waiter!

Yelp
A very solid choice for sushi/sashimi in the Fremont area - there are few poke places in this neighborhood but not many for sushi. I have had a handful of their rolls over the years and I have liked them but I think my favorite is their sashimi sets or the chirashi bowl. One of my favorite things about kamakura is the excellent service - everyone is so so attentive and friendly. You can't help but smile big when you interact with the staff. All in all a great weeknight staple in the neighborhood for when your sushi cravings hit! They also have a pretty decent sake list which is appreciated.

Yelp
I'm a sucker for sake flights, especially ones that surprised me in terms of which drink I'd like the most. All three sakes were delicious, and definitely encouraged me to get more of them. Yakitori was a little on the oily side, but a large enough portion that splitting it out to two meals was perfect. Tonkatsu and the chashu don were also quite good. The location of this place is great, as it's right in central Fremont close to the Fremont Troll and many other bars, so perfect for an evening meal out. Great service with great recommendations by the staff as well.

Yelp
Kamakura was suggested as they have an extensive vegan friendly menu with a variety of rolls to try. I figured this would be as good as anytime to see how their vegan sushi stacks up to what I've had in the past. I ordered their Vegan Dragon Roll ($13) and their Google It Roll ($15). The dragon roll was pretty unimpressive if I'm behind honest. It felt like a tofu-CA roll with slices of tofu on top. The Google roll was a lot more interesting and inventive, though the unagi sauce overpowered most of the dish. Overall, a very average sushi experience. I also ordered a side of their Seaweed Salad but wasn't impressed with the small amount I received. Overall, a very standard Japanese spot and although I appreciate the vegan options, one of the rolls simply didn't cut it for me.

Yelp
A very surprisingly good Japanese restaurant! I ended up at this spot after being told that the wait for Kin Len across the street would be over an hour. Since we needed a spot to eat at quickly, this place popped up on Yelp and was right there. Upon arriving we were told that the wait would be 20 minutes, but we were actually seated in around 5. We got the menu quickly, and when you're ready to order they have a button you can press for service. I got the Geisha roll, and at the table we also had the crunchy roll and chicken curry. The presentation of the curry was beautiful and unique, and it was quite good! I honestly can't tell the difference between Japanese curries too much, but I still enjoyed it. The geisha roll was fantastic -- fresh salmon and crab wrapped inside with unagi on the outside. All my favorites in one roll! It was a little smaller than I would have liked, but still delicious nonetheless. Overall, a great spot for some Japanese food in a cozy environment. The menu is vast so there's definitely opportunities to try more!

Yelp
Great sushi and Japanese food spot! The food was tasty and prices were reasonable, so I'm glad to have found this spot. Originally we had planned on only ordering sushi, but saw that their menu had a lot of tasty Japanese dishes so we had to try some. We got shrimp tempura, spicy tuna roll, California roll, spider roll, and chicken katsu curry. Everything was delicious and the sushi felt high quality. The chicken katsu had a pretty big portion and was flavorful! Would definitely recommend this spot for sushi and Japanese! There were other Japanese dishes that looked tasty, so I'll be back to try them.

Yelp
My friend and I came here for lunch on a Sunday. We came right before their midday closure, and I'm grateful that they seated us! Food: I got the avocuddle roll, the oshinko roll, and the creamy inari nigiri. All of the items were vegan and absolutely delicious. I loved the variety of vegetarian and vegan options here. I wish I lived closer so I can come back and try all of the options. m Service: The service here was friendly and quick. We were seated quickly and greeted immediately. Our food came out pretty promptly as well. TL;DR - great vegan options with friendly service!

Yelp
What has happened? The food and the service have gone down. We used to love coming here. We would tell everyone about it, and being friends often. We placed an Uber order last night. The last two times we've ordered the vegan fried rice, it didn't come with the veggies (carrots and peas), just rice and tofu? We needed to call and ask that onions be removed from the fried rice and death by crunch roll. Just the toppings. Before we completed our sentence, the guy interrupted us and stated the order has been made already, without hesitation. We reminded him that we had placed the order one minute prior to calling..awkward... then we kindly gave our name and asked that the onions be removed from the items. He located our order and continued to scoff through the entire, very short, convo. It was a Monday night. Also, I ordered a Sake Don (salmon on rice bowl) and my body reacted almost instantly. I eat sushi often so it was a big surprise. I can't help but ask why. I included how the fried rice should look and what we received, not once but twice now. Disappointing.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place! Their vegan options are plenty and all very delicious. The staff is friendly and the place is warm and inviting. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Ambience (3/5) - Usual Asian cozy place with traditional furniture. Food (3/5) - We ordered Hamachi Lover Roll Spicy California Rolls Loved the rice, gives you at home feeling. However, personally it was a bit dry for me Service (3/5) - The service was decent, however a bit slow which was understandable as we were a big group

Yelp
When I come to town this is my #1 spot for the absolute BEST VEGAN sushi. The staff is friendly and helpful. Parking is a challenge but well worth the hassle.

Yelp
What a gem of a place! Honestly, I was on the quest for Okonomiyaki (which this place no longer serves, unfortunately) when I stumbled upon Kamakura in yelp searches. Wonderful selection of nigiri and rolls, with extensive vegan options (which was really important to my date, who is vegetarian). Upon entering the place, we were welcomed warmly by all of the staff. Frankly, it felt authentically Japanese, something one might experience in a restaurant in Japan (albeit, in a different language :) ). We were arriving after 7, and there were a couple of 2 person tables for us. The place is smallish, but cozy. We were offered menus (thank you; I hate having to fumble with my phone to get a menu), and we noted immediately the huge vegan selections. We opted ultimately for an order of edamame (nothing extraordinary there, but still good), and two rolls: the Seattle Vegan Roll and the Google It Roll. The former consists of fried tofu, tofu crab meat, cucumber, grilled onion with a sweetish Unagi sauce. The latter consists of vegan tuna, kanpyo, pickled radish, avocado and grilled onion. It's topped with a sweet mayo sauce. They were both extraordinarily good rolls, especially notable that the vegan crab and tuna were so tasty. I also ordered two sake nigiri, which were also quite tasty. Love this place! That said, the only negative comment I can make is that we felt a little rushed towards the end of our meal. We arrived around 7:15, sat and leisurely made our orders. No issues there. But when we were mostly done eating around 8:00, and were visiting and catching up with one another, our table was being bussed and we were asked to pay. It felt like they wanted us to leave. The place doesn't close until 9 and there really were no other people being seated (so they didn't need our table). This feeling was distinctly un-Japanese. Still, it wasn't bad enough to warrant knocking a star from the review. Nor will it convince me not to stop by again. I really do like the food, ambiance, and general cordiality.

Yelp
While the food is good, the service is AWFUL!!! The wait staff are consistently rude. Go to Kisaku instead for better service and sushi. To give you a feel for what I mean about the rude service: The last time I went there, I asked for salmon belly nigiri. I got a quizzical look and I was informed that wasn't something they served, in an annoyed tone. I told them I had had it there before and did they mind checking? They came back and said they did have it (still annoyed). Another time, I asked if I could have a hand roll (something many sushi restaurants will do, no problem) and they said absolutely not (again, super annoyed) even though a different time they made one for me. I would avoid this restaurant if service is important to you.

Yelp
Food: - Vegetable Udon with tempura: Tempura was quite good, perfectly fried. ( green beans, carrot, sweet potato, onion, zucchini). The udon was salty, but also had a good flavor. There's no tofu or veggies in this, aside from green onions plus a lot of tempura batter. 4.5/5 Service- There's three servers, two were great. One waiter kept trying to clean off our table while we were still eating and drinking. The restaurant wasn't going to close for another 45 minutes ( and people were still coming in for food), and the place had plenty of empty tables.

Yelp
This place is the hidden gem for those who love Japanese good with the warm hearted atmosphere. Fresh Ingredients, good service, and good place to hang out Our bill was over $300+ and it is super worthy Big support!!!

Yelp
We are a fan of Kamakura! My wife loves the large vegan menu and many GF options, rare to find in sushi spots. I enjoy the baked sushi options, which you can't find everywhere. Their HH (12-5:30 M-F) menu is a nice touch, $5 house sake yes please. The staff is very nice. The ambiance is an inviting, small, cozy, friendly neighborhood sushi spot. We will be back with the kiddos next time, appears family friendly.

Yelp
Got some takeout sushi on a Wednesday night. I ordered on Grubhub and picked up. Parking is a bit tough in this part of town, but found a spot on the steep hill. Their menu doesn't list ingredients for their rolls, but I went with a Dragon Roll since I've had many in the past. I also got some salmon sushi for a little change of pace. The eel and avocado on the roll were nice and fresh, and the sauce was spot on. The salmon also tasted fresh, and I liked that it didn't fall apart when handling it with the chopsticks. Prices were not cheap, but also not ridiculous. Let's be honest though, if you get a boat load of "cheap" sushi you're basically playing Russian roulette. Will definitely come back for more in the future!

Yelp
I wish I lived closer to Fremont so I could get my vegan sushi fix more often. I met a friend at Kamakura for dinner last night, and I left full and happy! I ordered the creamy inari, fried tofu roll, vegan crunch roll, and vegetarian roll. They were all delicious! The creamy inari was filled with avocado and a cream sauce. My favorite roll was the fried tofu roll, which had a sweet chili sauce on top. I also loved the vegan crunch roll, which is basically a vegan California roll with crunchy toppings. The vegetarian roll was very crisp and refreshing. We had very attentive service too, which made the meal extra enjoyable, and the food came out quickly. I just wish I had stopped to take a picture of my food before stuffing my face with it, since the presentation was really beautiful with a lovely salad and orchid flower.

Yelp
I finally made it here after hearing about the great vegan sushi roll options, and the rumors were true! The food was excellent. We sat at the bar which was so fun because not only did we get our food quickly, but one of the guys making the rolls was super friendly and answered our various questions and chatted with us a bit throughout the night! It's also such a cute little restaurant, the vibes were great. Will definitely be back soon!

Yelp
Great vegetarian and gluten free sushi options!! And sooo yummy! Also really cool that they throw in a free appetizer for orders over $30

Yelp
Wow. This is really good sushi and in many ways, the best I've had in a very long time. The servers were great--attentive and friendly. I ordered a (small) sashimi platter and two specialty rolls -- the Mariner the Godzilla rolls. My son ordered the Golden California Roll, Fremont Roll, Orange Blossom roll, and a couple pieces of nigiri (saba and salmon). My son's girlfriend (who's new to sushi) ordered a katsu chicken bowl and Lu ordered a poke bowl. The sashimi and nigiri were fresh and yummy. The specialty rolls had who,e pieces of fish as fresh as the sashimi and nigiri. I look forward to returning to Kamakura!

Yelp
Food and service were amazing. very cute little place to go for a more private little dinner as they have some covered booths.

Yelp
Kamakura may be one of my favorite sushi restaurants of all time, and that is saying a *lot* coming from me, especially since it involves a trip to Seattle from the Eastside. I'm a big sashimi person, so naturally I ordered the sashimi plate. The fish was incredibly fresh and diverse, and really I could not have asked for anything better. You might go to other super high-end restaurants for their unique selection and ultra-fresh fish, but Kamakura delivers incredible value for the quality of fish. It makes a great base for a date night in Fremont and I absolutely will be returning, despite the drive.

Yelp
Visited this place on a rainy weekend because our first choice was closed for the holidays. Due to the rain, I wasn't really feeling sushi, so I opted for something else. I went with my go-to comfort food for Japanese restaurants which was the katsudon (fried pork rice bowl) and a Sapporo beer. I also had a miso soup since I wanted something warm and soupy. The meal was quite satisfying. The rice bowl was surprisingly huge. I was not expecting such a big bowl. They stuffed it was quite a bit of rice on the bottom. The entree was overall pretty good though. Just was a bit too heavy. I was too full to even much on my friends' sushi order which I was planning to do, but my entree ruined that plan. Sad times. Oh well. Restaurant felt a bit small, but it wasn't too bad. Service was very good here and provided all our needs. There was even a call button on the wall in case we needed to wave someone down for anything. Very handy. I would've liked to try their sushi, but maybe next time on another day.

Yelp
I came to this restaurant expecting some decent food especially with the high ratings other people had, but encountered a trainwreck that kept getting worse. TL;DR: Ordered Lion king roll, hamachi roll, geisha roll. Costed about $70 total. This place did not feel like it lived up to that value. At first when we entered, we noticed the space felt pretty claustrophobic. I can see how it is cozy, but it was packed with customers and just gave off a kind of stuffy vibe. I noticed my chair was a slight bit greasy when I first sat on it. It wasn't too bad but still felt a little gross. This ties into what I saw when I observed the cleaning of a table. They wiped crumbs and some small garbage just onto the floor and chairs and then when they swept up some of the crumbs, they just left some obvious large chunks just there. I would expect a restaurant like this to spend a little more effort to clean up crumbs for the next customers who sit in their seats. We ordered 3 rolls, the first roll took about 25 minutes to come out. After we ate that, we had a waiter come by (different than the one that took our order originally), and confirm that we had 2 other rolls. I was surprised a bit about disorganization there. In the meantime while the 2 rolls were being made, I took the time to use the bathroom. One thing I noticed is that there were mold rings in the toilet indicating that it had been quite a while since the bathrooms were last cleaned. When I got back, I was told by my partner that the waiter (who originally took our order) came by and attempted to clean up our table, and took away the chopsticks I was using, as well as my soy sauce plate. I was kind of taken aback about the level of disorganization to not only not remember our table's order but also to take away stuff we were still using when an indicator we would be done with our stuff is if we're leaving the restaurant... I think their waiters were really new to the job. I don't blame them, but I do think they should have received more training. Another story I have is that when a group of 8 came by, they repositioned a few tables to fit them, but like 3 or 4 of the waiters (which is pretty much all of them) helped with that process, so during that time period, I was unable to get my check. They have a button to call on your waiters, but I think it only sends a ping to their watch and doesn't actually say which table is requesting service because we pressed the button quite a bit and tried to make eye contact with some waiters but nobody came by a few times. As for the food itself, it's pretty mid, to be honest. The taste is pretty good, but as soon as we got the food, we could tell how 'fresh'ly made it was judging by how cold it felt. We could tell there was some warmth, but it felt it had been faded for a bit. It also would have had to blow me away to be really worth the price and redeem everything else. Overall, I'd say not really worth it unless you're having a lot of craving for sushi and don't mind subpar service. Maybe I'll come back in a year to re-review.

Yelp
Excellent menu selection and really good sushi - after being seated, all menus are QR codes and you'll press a bell for service. Highly recommend the specialty rolls, particularly the Fremont Roll. Very small restaurant down in the basement of a building, so it has an odd ambiance but it's a good spot for a tasty lunch.

Yelp
We went on a Friday night at 5:30 for an early dinner and got seated immediately but around 6pm the place was packed and had a line forming. For food, we ordered the poke bowl, yellow tail maki, spicy salmon roll, and the sushi bento box. Service was super quick, place was clean and the food tasted very fresh. The portion size on the poke bowl was great for the price. We did have a minor issue with getting charged with extra stuff we didn't order on our bill but other than that, highly recommend this place for casual setting sushi. Just make sure to double check your bill

Yelp
Absolutely loved all the vegan options. The roll combos were pretty awesome and not basic at all. My fave is the tofu krab salad they make and use at the filling in the vegan poppers. Everything had a ton of flavor. Service was pretty fast and the place wasn't packed at all. My fave was the Jalaspicy roll. Great mix of heat and sweetness from the grilled onions.

Yelp
Nice convenient spot near UW. Good rolls and the salmon sashimi was tasty, so ordered more Service was nice and timely, with good ambience

Yelp
Kamakura is by far the best place to get sushi in Fremont! The servers are all wonderful and the food is great! I come back to get the citrus salmon roll every time! Their happy hour menu is also a steal if ur dining in on a week day. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a cozy spot for some sushi!

Yelp
An unassuming sushi spot tucked into the heart of Fremont -- the ambiance is super laid-back, the decor authentic, and servers very sweet. Stopped in on a Thursday night and it was fairly busy, so would definitely prepare to make a reservation or expect a bit of a wait. I loved the variety of vegetarian and vegan sushi rolls they had -- the speciality vegetarian one with tofu was DELISH, and I am definitely coming back to try more!

Yelp
They had an entire vegan menu which was really cool. I got the fried tofu roll and the vegan California roll. The fried tofu roll was really yummy.

Yelp
My favorite sushi restaurant in Fremont! Quality of the fish is superb. Customer service is attentive. Ambience is perfect for a date night, having it dimly lit with authentic decorations. Love coming here for to-go as well, and can be found on Door Dash. Solid sushi restaurant; I'm never disappointed.

Yelp
I always enjoy coming here for some casual sushi and have been a regular for a while. They also have some good happy hour deals. Worth a visit!

Yelp
We came here for dinner on a Monday night and it was energetic, but not too full. They do not take reservations so I called ahead to see what the wait was and there was none. Our party of 9 was seated at a long table right when you walk in and the ambiance is nice. The menu is both in QR form and you can request hard menus as well. It was so hard to choose between all of the good specialty rolls! I went with the Spider and the Crunch roll. Both were excellent and large in size, with not too much of a rice ratio. The show stealer was the sashimi platter that was ordered for the table. I tried Hamachi for the first time and it was excellent. Again, the fish chunks on this platter were huge and the presentation was top notch. This is a great, affordable sushi place in Fremont!

Yelp
I have to put this at a one star to hopefully get some visibility on the restaurant owner/manager. The food is fine, the service is mostly fine. However 9/24/2023 (5:00PM - 6:30PM dining). One of the waitresses guilt forced the payment to not be paid as the original party had intended. I feel this is completely out of line, and is inappropriate behavior. Just because we are Korean and you are Korean, does not mean that you should say, "if it was me, I will do it this way", you are a waitress at a restaurant, not my family and have no right to decide what to do on our behalf. We treated you with respect and left you a nice tip and did not complain or protest as we did not want to cause a scene for you, because we are still nice customers and enjoyed this establishment (back when it was called Chiso). But learn to watch and respect your boundaries. We respected you, so respect the customer in return? (to be clear, this review was just the waitress that handled the payment, the other waitress and waiters were perfectly fine, and would eat here again).

Yelp
Must try with a lot of vegan options ! The roles are just delicious . The ambience was pretty nice and definitely a good spot for date night! They don't take reservations so it's first come first serve and it usually gets busy over the weekend It's pretty close to the Seattle troll so you could give your name and go check the troll! I love the fact that there are good vegetarian and vegan options. The jalapeño role was delicious. It's a little on the expensive side but I would totally recommend this place

Yelp
Came here with my best friend last night. It's a very sweet and intimate little place. We ordered 4 special rolls, vegetable tempura and takoyaki. Everything tastes great. It's also at a prime location in Fremont downtown area. The only thing is they don't take reservations, probably given how busy they are. The wait time was long...we got there at 5:50pm and waited for 55 min for a 2 person table. Prices are reasonable for what they offer.

Yelp
One of our favorite places! We frequent a few of their locations including one in Lacey and they're all wonderful with great service. Their vegan menu is out of this world.

Yelp
Uncertain - you can't go wrong here if you're craving sushi and are stranded in Fremont, but not a place I would return to frequently. I feel that the price is on all items are, on average, $2 more than other places, and the quality doesn't justify it. The menu has everything you want from an average Americanized sushi restaurant, and nothing more. You come because the interior is pretty and it's easy to get service with a call button. The waiters are friendly but I wish the staffs, including the ones in the back, wore a mask if they were coughing. I've only seen the place full once but I've only gone during lunch.

Yelp
AMAZING vegan sushi!! Five stars for the sushi itself! They have a non-vegan and vegan menu which they keep separate Tried the following items: -Miso Soup ($1.95) -Vegan Poppers (forgot price, maybe $7.50?) -Vegan Creamy Inari ($3) - So decadent and creamy and rice! Loved the sweetness! -Jalaspicy Roll ($14.95) -Seattle Vegan Roll ($13.95) -Spicy California Roll ($7.50) -Death by Crunch Roll ($14.95) -Scallion Roll ($8.50) Everything was completely smothered in tasty sauce and beautifully presented. Rolls are a great size! The "crab" is a tofu based creamy mixture. The rice is super soft and perfect sushi rice. They were out of pork belly bao. Service isn't friendly, more about efficiency, and I wish they didn't take dishes away before we were done :( Beautiful interior!

Yelp
Amazing vegan options. Death by crunch was delicious. So was Cream on Fire. I would skip the curry rice next time, it was similar to the curry you can make at home using "Golden curry" cubes.
